435 North Rd G, Coquitlam, BC V3K 3V9, Canada
Relaxed breakfast & lunch restaurant offering omelettes, pancakes, sandwiches & burgers.
I had the egg benny with ham. I requested egg medium, and it was cooked perfectly. The hash brown was amazing. It was thin and spread out and it was crispy on the outside. The atmosphere was nostalgic and cozy.
The egg benny didn't have enough sauce on it and the amount of toppings kinda overshadowed the egg flavour. However the harsh browns were done perfectly, soft inside, crunchy outside.
Jimmy’s Place Restaurant really has the old timey diner feel. Serving breakfast and lunch, it is conveniently located at the plaza with Lifelabs and is easy to find parking. The menu board is all in chalk and it seems like a Korean couple who is running /working this place. We ordered the big breakfast, French toast, and a cup of coffee which came to $35. Food came out within 15 minutes and the plating was nice and neat. With the booths and the older decor, it really felt like a nostalgic diner film scene and a great place to enjoy homey food and catch up with friends.
We were so disappointed with this place. My daughter and I ordered 2 eggs 2 pancakes and 2 sausages. Pancake is very thin and dry and very small. For the price it wasn’t worth it. Another order was French toast which tasted just like toast and bacon which was over cooked and burned. There was no refill on coffee because she never went around. The order cost us over $50. We should have gone to another restaurant. I’m just sharing how we felt. Maybe we just ordered wrong. Now we know NOT to go back again. Sorry.
Everybody reviewing this place like it's a five star restaurant. It's a diner. The breakfast is on the expensive side. Two eggs, two sausages, shredded hashbrowns and a couple pieces of toast. Add a coffee and it's nearly 20$. I might be inclined to give it another try for a hamburger. But for breakfast, I think I'll pass...
I found this place to be a cozy and warm Western-style brunch restaurant. It feels like a granny's home, with clean and high-quality food that's reasonably priced. I hope they keep the restaurant running forever so I can visit from time to time when I need that cozy and warm atmosphere :)
I never would have guessed in a million years that the food at Jimmy’s is this good 👍 I ran out of lunch options and decided to roll the dice - randomly check out a restaurant with decent reviews on google. That’s how i discovered this hidden gem. I ordered club sandwich with a side of fries, perfectly golden and incredibly crunchy! Also 💕 love that menu was hand written with chalks - adding so much charm to this place
Lovely local spot with great breakfast. Looks family run. They were all very nice and we loved the food! Hash brown was so good and loved the eggs benny. I love that you could see them cooking your food, makes me feel more reassured! Definitely recommend this place
My favourite breakfast place around the hash browns are incredibly delicious, very reasonable prices and quick service I would eat here every single day if I could.
This is my fave breakfast spot and I m so happy that it s open on Sundays now! Parking: Lots of free parking as it s located in a large shopping complex Food : 5/5 |
Best burger I have ever eaten is the Jimmy s Benny burger!
Very good ingredients, service!
Ive been coming here for years now and can safely say no matter what you order, it will be a tasty classic
This is a quaint little coffee shop. It has a strong clientel, with half the restaurant full at 1100am. I want to call it a good greasy spoon, but it wasnt greasy. The staff were also very polite and accomodating. Will have to come back for lunch.
The food is great and the staff are sooo friendly. My favourite is their burger. Tastes like home made burgers.
Classic greasy spoon diner with the best hash browns of my life. A real hidden gem.
Cute little diner, it was very clean inside. Staff was friendly! My wifes pancakes had a weird texture that she didnt enjoy! I had the Eggs Benny and asked for medium eggs they were cooked hard, the hollandaise was very tasty.. Lots of parking.
Been going here years. Soo good
Best Hashbrowns, good friendly service
I wasnt impressed. You place your order at the front counter and seat yourself. While I m not against this but youre being asked to tip when ordering, it felt premature since I had no idea how the experience or the food would turn out. The overall experience wasnt great. The hash browns were undercooked, we only got one refill on the coffees. The waitress was offering refills to other tables but skipped ours multiple times.
Great little hidden gem. lots of food options. highly recommend Food
This place is such a hidden gem. Great family run business. Old school diner vibe. Amazing Value and very well done Diner food.
Good service. Out of a few items on the menu. Good simple, but good
Food was alright, not cheap portion size were regular. I didnt like the order then seat down part of it, didnt like to be rushed when choosing what to eat. Service was good, you get your own water, coffee refills you have to ask for.
Go here for lunch all the time. For a small kitchen the food that comes out is absolutely incredible! Very cozy atmosphere for sitting, and lots of choices on the menu, great service, and delicious food.
My first time at Jimmys and even though it is tucked in a corner and you would not know unless walking by, it was terrific. It seems to be family owned and only a small restaurant seating is mainly boothes and a few small tables. I ordered a big breakfast and was told to sit anywhere. My eggs, sausage, hash browns and toast were delicious and coffee was refilled. I will definitely go back for lunch as they serve it also. A good find and not super pricey!
Really great breakfast. Looking forward to the next time I visit.
Stepping into Jimmy s Place Restaurant in Coquitlam feels like being transported back to a simpler time. The atmosphere exudes a comfortable, home-style diner vibe, reminiscent of a past era when dining out was all about enjoying good food in a welcoming setting. The service begins with a self-serve system where you go up to order your meal, with a well-laid-out menu making it easy to choose your favorites. I opted for the three-ingredient omelet with cheese, ham, and mushrooms, while my friend went for a sandwich. The staff, always smiling, contributed to the family-like atmosphere, making us feel right at home. Now, let s talk about the food. The three-ingredient omelet was a standout, featuring perfectly scrambled eggs, just the right amount of ham, and delicious cheese. It came with a side of hash browns perfectly fried and shredded along with toast and strawberry jam. It was one of the best omelets I ve ever had. Adding a bit of ketchup elevated the meal even further. Overall, there were no negatives to mention. The food was top-notch, making Jimmy s Place an ideal spot for anyone seeking a classic greasy spoon dining experience. If you re in Coquitlam and looking for a nostalgic, hearty meal, Jimmy s Place Restaurant should be at the top of your list.
I originally gave jimmy s cafe 5 stars but the last few times I went they had raised their prices and their portion sizes were smaller. Ordered 3 dishes with a drink and it came to around $60 dollars (family of 4 with 2 kids) Then went home and ate some instant noodles as I was still hungry.. Went to Congee house on broadway and spent $45 dollars and my whole family was full with food we can t make at home. Instead of spending $60 dollars at Jimmy s Place and eating food I CAN make at home and still being hungry afterwards. The owner responded with a one page response where he s taking it personal when I m just giving my honest review.
Nice lil place with great diner food
Jimmys Place is great!
The Beni doesnt taste good
Our regular haunt. Delicious every time
Overall, I had a positive experience. The salad was excellent. The servers and staff were exceptionally nice, and the place had a cool old school vibe. The only disappointment was that the omlette was bland and not very filling. Everything else was top-notch. Theres room for improvement, but overall, I recommend it.
My best friend asked me to meet here for breakfast. I had the special benny and it was a delight. Award winning benny imho... hall of fame worthy one might say. Parking: Huge plaza with plenty of parking. Lifelabs and also a bottle depot
I think the breakfast is mediocre at best. I had one of the eggs Benedicts; the sauce was very bland, almost similar to a béchamel sauce. The veggies on top were fresh not fried. The potatoes were crispy outside and soggy inside. That being said... My partner had a burger and it was delicious! While I would never have the benny again, I would try their other food. This restaurant has a great atmosphere, and makes the perfect place to come to for casual dining.
Wow - amazing hidden gem of a breakfast diner spot. Everything cooked to perfection and friendly happy folks at Jimmys. Had the Jumbo Breakfast and was good value, delicious hash browns and the eggs and sausage were tremendous. Highly recommend and will be returning!
Wholesome restaurant for family atmosphere. Benedict is top notch but could take a while to serve when it gets busy. Place is older and ventilation could use some upgrade but it s a relaxing place for some good breakfast.
A secret restaurant in the town. Food is delicious. Service is good. Lunchtime is busy and kitchen is small, so the waiting time will be quite long. Tried burger this time which is tasty. Will probably come back again for the egg Benedict next time.
Mom and Pop joint, well run, good food...just go in and order it off menu and the cashier tells you where to sit, super easy, and was pretty busy at 2PM on Sat afternoon. Seems a lot were regulars, easy for families.
one of the best homemade burgers for the best price unbelievably delicious and juicy
Stumbled upon this place. Good little dive. Hash-browns are amazing!
Excellent breakfast place
Chicken noodle soup was good, burger was decent. Fries were run of the mill. Service you get your own water and coffee additions. Food is brought to you. Vegetarian options: typical vegetarian options Parking: lots of parking, as that plaza is dead with very few businesses open.
hashbrowns are always splendid
I really like this restaurant! The breakfast is great, and the owner is super friendly. The food is of decent quality, and I always enjoy my meals here. Definitely deserves a 5-star rating!
Best breakfast place in the Coquitlam area Parking: Lots of parking Wheelchair accessibility: Flat but not sure about door width
I finally got to stop in for a bite at this hidden gem and was not disappointed! The server was very welcoming and let me have a coffee while waiting for my partner. I had the Jumbo Breakfast and partner had the 2-2-2 breakfast. The golden hashbrowns were the best hashbrowns I ve ever had and the bacon was cooked perfectly as all as the eggs and sourdough toast was delicious. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu!!
Great greasy spoon, done really well. Straight-forward, comfort food with a relaxed vibe.
One of our favorite brunch places to go to for many years. A great, not fancy but homey, mom and pop Cafe.
I ordered Jimmys special burger. I loved it. The bun was just perfect. It wasnt buttered or oiled soggy. Perfectly cooked with sauces. I will highly recommend and visit again. Food
I love this place. Food is so delicious and the staffs are friendly. Food
Food has become less reasonably priced. Disappointed that there was a $0.50 surcharge for sourdough toast. Coffee price seems high for small mug with only 1 small refill.
Reason going here regularly is consistent taste and very clean
Best BELT in town and the service is top
Ordered Bacon Cheddar Mushroom Burger. Juicy Fresh, Flavorful Burger better than many major Chains burgers i would confidently say. Only thing I want to say is the bun was too soft and it got soggy quickly. For the taste timely service thats still ok. Want to try more here. Ohh missed the Beef Barley soup. You should try it to experience what I felt WoOoowWww. Simple Awesome Soup. Couldnt get much flavor or beef in my Soup though but the taste shuts my mouth. Simple Great Tasty Hotttt Soup.
Tried this little diner and had a good lunch, Jimmy Burger, chicken noodle soup, Soup was Salty burger was good. I would like to visit again and try breakfast.
Food is amazingly delicious. Great quality and quantity for really affordable prices Coming back sure for more. Thank you for such good food.
Looking for a greasy spoon diner and we found this hole in the wall joint! We had 3 topping omlet and ham benny. The food was great. Will definitely coming back!
First time back in 12 years and the place is still a gem brought back so many memories!! Thank you
Amazing family run restaurant. The breakfast was amazing and looking forward to coming back for lunch in the near future.
Do not come here. Came here for the first time with my boyfriend They make you pay beforehand, then we waited 40min for our food. When it came we start eating and my partner found a big hair in his eggs. We told them and they just said they would remake it (no option for refund even though we were so turned off and didn t want it anymore). Then we had to wait 20 more minutes for the new one to come out, and then halfway through him eating this he found another hair!!! We showed the girl and she stuck her finger in his food and said she doesn t know if it s a hair or not. We asked for a refund at that point and they only refunded the food not even his drink. Most disgusting experience. When looking in the kitchen no one was wearing a hairnet. I wonder how many people are just eating hair and not noticing. Horrible!!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jimmys Place Restaurant, and I have to say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The menu offered a wide variety of breakfast options, and I had a hard time deciding what to order. But in the end, I settled on the classic breakfast, and it was delicious. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the bacon was crispy and the toast was toasted to my liking. The coffee was also great, very rich and flavorful. The service was top-notch, as well. My server was attentive and friendly, and she was always available to answer any questions or provide recommendations. The atmosphere was also great, very cozy and pleasant. I felt very relaxed and comfortable. Overall, my breakfast at Jimmys Place Restaurant was an absolutely amazing experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great breakfast in a welcoming atmosphere. Five stars all around!
One of the best local businesses to support. Food is always good and delicious. Burgers are the best; way better than any of the chain restaurants. Good prices. They are always busy but run a tight ship. We were able to get a table when we showed up before 11am on a weekend (bonus that they have high chair/booster seat for baby). By 1130am, there is a big line. The service is superb.
Jimmy is a good man and makes a mean hamburger
Great breakfast food, great service, and made very quickly despite being relatively busy!
None of the Cooks wear hair nets, Found a hair cooked into my eggs. This place is disgusting, they do not care for hygiene.
Great neighborhood breakfast and lunch place. Can always count on Jimmys to start your day perfect!
I was pretty impressed with the burger I had here. The service was also good. Decore/atmosphere has room for improvement.
I love this place! The food is AWESOME!!
Honestly the beat breakfast I have had anywhere in the lower mainland since 2015. I have lived withing walking distance of this place for 5 years now and my only source of disappointment is that I didnt take the time to come here sooner. Aside from the fact that all of the food was perfect the hashbrowns were the most completely perfect hashbrowns I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Parking: Theres parking everywhere
Good food. Good prices. A unique but not uncomfortable minimalist approach.
This place service an honest breakfast made with no fuss ingredients. It tastes like something simple you can make at home, and it looks healthier. I personally did not enjoy the muffin that the Benny was on top of because it just tasted like dempsters English muffin. Honestly you could go to Costco and buy all these ingredients and make the same thing at home for less. The coffee was tasty and I really enjoyed the potatoes. The only thing I didnt like was the fact that you have to pay before you sit down, so you order first, then pay with tip, then sit.
Hash browns were awesome Parking: Lots of parking Kid-friendliness: Family restaurant
Favorite place to eat burgers and fries, breakfast, grilled cheese. 10/10 great staff too!
Great little family owned diner. Amazing food, all cooked with love. Very busy during lunch rush. Interior has a retro diner vibe. The best way I tend to describe Jimmys is the fact they arent ever open for dinner. Only breakfast and lunch, any restaurant that can afford to do that must do breakfast/lunch exceptionally well. If you have to pick one place to eat at, eat here.
Great casual breakfast spot! Affordable and tasty :)
The absolute best pancakes. Incredibly fluffy and pillowy! Really good hashbrowns too--the shredded type so they are very crispy!
Cant find these types of homemade breakfast places anymore. Very underrated place.
Tasty Burgers!
This place is OVERRATED. Basic food. Service is not the greatest. Place is very dirty and outdated. I couldve made this food myself at home
I found a piece of plastic in their hash browns. Also, a piece of egg shell was in their eggs. It is an unhygienic and unfriendly place. I was so disappointed and won t go back again.
I have been coming here for as long as I can remember. The price is very reasonable and the hashbrowns are to die for. I dont know how long Jimmys will be around before its slated for the development chopping block, but dont miss out. There are few places still like this. Thanks Jimmys, every time is amazing!!
I almost missed this restaurant from the parking lot Its in the corner! Good burger and hashbrown. Food : 4/5
Great Mom and Pop type breakfast place. After having breakfast a few times I came back for lunch. The burgers are pretty awesome too! Parking: Lots of parking in the lot
Ive been here for many years, its always a great place for good food
really good not our first time... nor the last one Food
A gem of a place in an obscure corner of a plaza shopping centre. The atmosphere was of genuine friendliness, and the food was very good. Make an effort to eat here over the chain restaurants that front the street. You ll be pleased.
We had a nice experience here. Staff were friendly and courteous. Allowed us to seat ourselves comfortably with a chair at the end of the table as the bench seats are quite tight for larger people. No outdoor seating when we visited but it was nicely cool inside. Would love to come again. I had an omelette but didnt see it here on the options to recommend. Bon appétit!
Much better than IHOP and other brunch places. Perfect place to visit after dropping off kids to school. Hashbrown is meticulously fried and evenly cooked. Not greasy. This is a skill.
I love this restaurant homestyle cooking friendly owners This a classic place to eat Food
Solid breakfast or lunch diner hidden away in a corner for those who know
Sooooo yummy and good!!!!! I love the pancakes Dietary restrictions: They had vegan and vegetarian Kid-friendliness: Theyre really nice to kids!!
Their food is homemade and awesome . The beef barley soup is my favorite
First time to Jimmys for breakfast. Found a new favourite breakfast diner while in Vancouver for business. Sooo long to Dennys.
Crispy hash brown on top fluffy in the middle, cant beat Jimmys on that anywhere Ive been so far. Breakfast is always solid
Fantastic food. Good atmosphere. Kind server!!
Joke of a restaurant. Expensive with small food portions. You order at the front and pay before you get your food, youre expected to make your own coffee at this small station with old and warm cream packets. The only reason youre left feeling full after this meal is because half of it is one large slab of undercooked hash brown. The two sausages you get with your meal are smaller than your pinky. Find elsewhere.
Very cozy place for breakfast,
Welcome to Jimmy s Place. This restaurant is the perfect little spot for enjoying a delicious breakfast/brunch at an affordable price. The diner like atmosphere, classic dishes and friendly service they offer make it a place I ll always return to.
Nice owners. Friendly service. Jimmy Burger is the best in town! Pea Soup, delicious, or Jumbo Breakfast a great, tasty deal.
Referred by friend Food tasty with reasonable price I will go back again for sure Food : 5/5
Simple, no fuss, home style food. Expected a greasy diner but definitely wasn t that (thankfully). Really nice staff too. Will be back!
Burgers are delicious But I waited over 30 minutes for the food to come out. The staff are friendly I felt that the soup was too sweet. I visited 3 times and the best menu item is the mushroom burger. I recommend it
Not a bad place to grab lunch, I ate a decent bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and beef and barley soup, could use some better chairs and a make over.
Busy local place. Good breakfast.
Hidden gem for breakfast all the way. Perfect cooked eggs and unique hash brown. Close to metro station, also big available parking space. You must try!! You will be surprised and never disappointed.
If you re looking for a homestyle breakfast, this place is perfect for you. The staffs there are very friendly. Atmosphere is great. Normally, the highly reviewed brunch and breakfast restaurants I visit leave me feeling bloated and greased up, but not this place! The food was simple, but of good quality. I felt the dishes we ordered were lacking some greens though so I had to order a salad separately Not a dealbreaker. I would definitely visit again, to try some other things on their menu. Vegetarian options: Could use more vegetarian dishes!
I went there for the first time last week and I liked that the food was delicious and the people were friendly and that I had discovered a hidden gem. This is my second visit today and it is still delicious. I want to try all the menus! I am satisfied.
Takes forever to serve dine in and takes out first
food is always great and server is friendly and nice.
Amazing little diner experience.
This is a hidden place, but their food hits the spot, especially after a fast. Next to Lifelabs.
Best hashbrowns in town!
excellent food and staff server is so pretty and kind Food
Hidden gem for awesome brunch! :) I would recommend spicy burger, which is the best in this town! Server was also super friendly and 1000% recommend! Food
I had a disappointing experience at the restaurant. Ordered breakfast to go and the hashbrowns had no flavor and it looked like they forgot to add salt to it. They also forgot to provide ketchup with the food which is standard for orders.
This is a place I stop by and have breakfast every time I go to Vancouver for work. Every time I go, the owner and all the staff welcome me warmly, and the food comes out cleanly, which makes me happy.
Theres not a lot of places that will check great food, great portions, great price and friendly service! This does and will bring me back for those very reasons. Very cozy vibes and humble food. We ordered the House Egg Benedict and 2-2-2 (2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 sausages or bacon) and they re so delicious! Recommended and will be coming back
Consistently great food and service... Regardless if you order the breakfast or the burgers. Double patty on the burger a must have.
I didnt feel the food is as fresh as it should be. I think the place is decent but not fresh, tomatoes for one and the toast seemed past the due date for two. Would not come back because of that and would not recommend.
Love the home style breakfast. These places are a rare find these days
Classic greasy-spoon diner. Great food. Best hashbrowns Ive ever had.
Jimmys place is a Western-style breakfast restaurant run by people who can speak Korean. (Former) Independent Grocery It is located in a corner of the shopping mall, so it is easy to miss without noticing it. The food is not much different from an ordinary Western breakfast, but there is a subtle difference that is difficult to explain but feels a bit more Korean than Western. If you want a Western breakfast but find other places too heavy or greasy, this is the place for you. However, if you are used to or prefer the oily and spicy taste of Canada, there are better places nearby. The menu is varied, but not very readable, so it takes some time to read. The prices are not bad, but the biggest drawback is the short operating hours.
Prompt service, amazing golden hashbrown, bennies are delicious, soft eggs as I requested, I can also tell hollandaise sauce is not from a can but probably in house made, servers kept refilling our coffee cups very often, smily and nice cashier, plenty of parking, well kept place, will come back again :)
Good breakfast! Not greasy like most places. Friendly service! I highly recommend.
Super good
I recently moved here from Hamilton, ON. I was looking for a family breakfast place and not a horrific chain like Dennys or Coras tec. Found Jimmys. Saturday morning was busy but not packed. Breakfast was just fine, poached eggs cooked perfectly, coffee was good too. A lot of small places like this the coffee is bitter, I find. Price was competitive. Korean family and staff super friendly and clearly hard working, especially the proprietor/fry cook who is cooking in front of everybody, old fashioned style!. Lots of parking in the plaza. I wish it had a bar with round stools for single breakfast eaters like me. Shredded potato patties nice and thin and crispy. Some other places they are soggy, yuk. It would also be nice to have some bakery style bread multi-grain instead of the wonderbread factory toast and I would be willing to pay extra. But a minor complaint. You are not paying for the decor but getting a hearty meal at a decent price.
Our favorite place to eat breakfast! Everyone is so nice and the food is so delicious. We love coming here!
Best breakfast and lunch. Food is always great, hats off to the main cook
Amazing little hidden place for breakfast. Quick service. Kind staff. Good food. Feels right at home.
Best diner in town!
Breakfast was cheaper than whitespot but poached egg was microwaved and was like hard boiled.
This gem is hidden in the corner of a strip mall. I had no idea it was there. A hidden secret. The Bacon and grilled onions with Cheese burger was kinda reminiscent of a Whopper but way better. Like a Whopper done right - juicy, filling and very tasty. (Obviously made with care and love) My son enjoyed his Chicken burger, my quick nibble on it brought back childhood memories of McChickens past. Way better than what you get today. Im pretty keen to go back and try from their breakfast menu.
This little diner was exactly what we wanted for breakfast, before heading out to explore Port Moody and the lakes. Short wait as it s a small busy place. They take your order first and you pay than they seat you. Excellent service and perfectly portioned fresh food.
Awesome Benny
Friendly owners and staff with terrific food. Good bang for your buck
Neighborhood gem! Good eats, diner style decor.
Good
IF YOU LIKE GOOD FOOD PLEASE READ: I ve NEVER given a bad review in my life, and the people were really nice but the food is just bland - hash browns literally tasted like it was cooked with water I can t lie about this . From the look & taste of the Omelettes, I regretted not just cooking my own at home. I only came once so maybe it was my unfortunate experience - but honestly seems like people are lying in these reviews, or just have no desire for flavour which is fine if that s how they are but if you enjoy good food, spend the extra $5 and go to another restaurant or it may even be cheaper, my meal was $19 for omelette & hot chocolate before the tip pretty sure Denny s may be cheaper (and greasier, but better tasting for sure ). Hate to do this review, but I wish I actually read something like this before stepping in. I personally won t be ordering food here again.
They serve the best hashbrowns.
A literal hidden gem. Great service, yummy food
amazing food! my family and I ate breakfast here today and it was sooo good. we would have went back for supper if they were open later. food was 5/5 and the service was good
Good local place. Super nice staff. Denver omelette had mushrooms, tomatoes, and green onions in it along with all the regular Denver stuff.
Love their coffee and hashbrown. Eggs always cooked to perfection
Try their burgers and you won t regret.
I only have good things to say about the place, and I tend to be pretty strict (you can look at my reviews of other places in the vicinity) The staff is friendly, the owners nice, the food delicious, and best of all the place remains extremely affordable even during the great inflation of 2022.
I eat breakfast here and always have the Jumbo Breakfast twice a month on a Saturday. Food has always been great. I never had a bad breakfast here.
Great breakfast and great service
Ive always heard about this place pun not intended from my sister but never went until today. We came straight from blood works, so it was in the morning. We were surprised, thinking it was a place like Dennys. Turns out it was a mom and pop owned restaurant by a friendly Korean family. They were very nice, and the vibe was very western, like the 60s. The food itself was expensive, but tasty. The only thing we didnt like was that there was no milk. Breakfast without milk?! But other that that, this is an excellent breakfast place.
Decent low carb breakfast at a reasonable cost
Good service. Good breakfast, hashbrown was very good.
Good breakfast , great taste
Me and my wife always come here for a breakfast treat, everyone is right, the Benedict and hashbrowns is the best. They make the hashbrowns taste like potatoe chips.
One of my go to breakfast locations in North Burnaby! A great little hidden gem. Excellent service & tasty food
Best French toast I ve ever had in this neighborhood loved it!!!
Fantastic breakfast. Omelette with ham, onion and cheese with the best hash browns anywhere!!
Small diner that serves breakfast and lunch foods. So far, I ve only been here for their House Special Benny but hoping to try a sandwich n soup combo someday! Food isn t too bad, seating can be difficult to get and wait time can be a little longer than standard but it s a nice walk from my condo so I don t mind too much
Benedict and hashbrown were good. Nice family run business, will definitely return.
The location is a bit hidden as their signboard is quite small when you look it up from the main road. Upon entry we were accommodated by staff. She took our orders and payment, I got the Black stone Benedict (pictured) and my husband ordered the Ham Benedict with two refillable coffees, our bill totalled about 40++ CAD. We waitied for about 10 -15mins for before our order arrived, it was worth the wait as the food were made fresh and tasted way better than we were expecting. Their hashbrown quickly became our favorite. Most diners at that time were familiar with the staff, it seems like this restaurant is a favorite spot among locals in this neighborhood. Pick-up orders came in&out non-stop which is also a good indicator about the place. Toilet facility is old but clean. Overall, this was a very nice diner, I would definitely come back to try other items from their menu. Highly recommended to family & friends. Parking: Theres a spacious parking area right in front of this restaurant.
The most hole-in-the-wall, cute old timey restaurant ive seen in burnaby! Budget friendly eats and stellar service as well.
I have eaten here approximately 4-5 times for lunch. I pretty much just get the cheeseburger /fries/pop. Sometimes a gravy. Last time i went here was around May 2022. The burgers were always good , service was just meh/okay, the place is clean. But holy, have prices gone up !.....overlooking their online pickup to g menu..yikes. $11.00 -Bacon cheese burger. -Fries extra $4.00 -can of pop $2.50 -Gravy $2.50. I guess f you are watching your pennies and still wish to eat here, you could get a deluxe cheeseburger plus fries. $9+4....$13+tax. Skip the gravy, ask for their lukewarm water . Hopefully they not charging customers for plates, napkins, or ketchup Forgot to add, last time i was here i was complimenting the owner/server and she had said they may be shutting down as the strip mall was getting redeveloped. She was not sure when they might close/close for good/or relocate. Apparently they are still in business, so who knows for how much longer.
Questionable staff, they forgot and misplaced many dishes
It took a while for the food to come out, but it was delicious. I plan to visit again.
Really yummy and amazing breakfast foods and sandwiches. A little expensive for the size tho, but still good
very good breakfast, very friendly staff
It doesnt feel like an authentic brunch. But it tastes great The atmosphere doesnt match the food. It feels like going to Pizza School and having brunch.
Great place for breakfast!!
The best hashbrowns!!
Good burger. Thanks.
It is a nice little diner/breakfast joint. Try the everything omelette!
Rueben sandwich so good
Very nice whole in the wall restaurant. Be prepared to wait on weekends. You order and pay food before its brought to your table. Servers were nice and very kind. Price was also reasonable. Would definitely come again
The staff here are very friendly. Usually get breakfast items or burgers which are all very good. Today I decided to try beef dip. I do not recommend getting the beef dip.
Possibly one of the best breakfasts Ive ever had. Any restaurant serving breakfast should come here and learn how to cook hashbrows. Crispy, golden and crunchy outside, soft and tender inside. Like they were fried in heaven. The omelette was more of a scrble but I didnt mind. Portions were big so I didnt mind spending a little extra. Dont go to Dennys up the street. Pay the extra few dollars and eat here instead.
Went in with few friends and they required a vax pass. They are a counter service restaurant. Where you order at the counter. Therefore no vax pass needed, but they still wanted it. Used to eat here quite a bit. Too bad. They should look up what the rules are.
