Conveniently located in the Coquitlam Centre area, Legend House serves mostly Sichuan (Szechuan) cuisine and Northern Chinese style dim sum. Legend House strives to discover the essence of Chinese food, and committed to creating quality dishes for your dining pleasure. Our most popular dishes: - "Legend Boiled Fish in Chilli Oil", "Chop Pepper Fish", "Sichuan Thousand Chilli Chicken" -"Spicy Gingered Beef" -"Xiao Long Bao" soup dumplings
There is a robot for delivering dishes which made my kids excited. Food is good. Less than $20 per person.
I recently dined at a fantastic Shanghai restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The Shanghai soup dumplings were a standout—delicate yet bursting with flavorful broth, the perfect balance of savory and satisfying. The Dan-Dan noodles were equally delicious, with a rich, spicy sauce that complemented the noodles perfectly. The dish had just the right amount of heat and depth. The service was attentive and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance was cozy, adding to the overall charm of the place. It's definitely a spot I’d recommend for anyone craving authentic Shanghai cuisine.
Omgoodness!! Northern Dim Sum like we’ve never had before. Hearty, made in house wraps and sooo delicious, had the pork buns, hot chili wontons, soup dumplings and chive pockets! Added garlic green beans which were excellent. Generous portions, left overs were enough for dinner. Can’t wait to go back.
Came for dinner on Sunday 6pm. Was seated immediately without waiting. Server did not provide printed menus but there was a sign at the table with a QR code for an online menu. Ordered pork soup dumplings (XLB), dry fried spicy green beans, Legend fried rice, and scallion pancake beef shank roll. The XLB were exquisitely wrapped with a thin wrapper, lots of well seasoned pork filling, but only a bit of soup. Dry fried green beans were delicious but quite salty - would be good paired with white rice. Scallion pancake beef roll was crispy, flaky, flavourful, and delicious. The Legend fried rice was loaded with toppings like shrimp, Chinese sausage, corn; a bit oily (you can see it on the spoon in the pic) but very tasty. Overall, all of the food tasted good and was great value for price. Service was amazingly fast. Bathrooms and tables were clean. I can see this being a go-to spot for Coquitlam locals to catch a quick casual meal of Sichuan Chinese food. I'm looking forward to coming back to try their dry spicy hot pot and chili boiled fish!
Came here for dinner, and we’re very happy with the food and flavours. The xiao long bao’s had lots of soup inside, and the cumin spiced lamb is a must have. Our waitress was very attentive and came by often to refill our tea, and our food was served quickly.
Great value lunch deal with a dish, rice, and a drink for only $12.95 everyday. There are 7 dish options to choose from and their combo meals are also discounted during lunch hour too. Sometimes the food can fill you up for both lunch and dinner due to the quantity. When we went, there was only one person juggling the takeout orders, the dine in customers, and any phone calls so service may be a bit slow. Once we ordered though, the food was out within 10 minutes. Some of the dishes are spicy so make sure to note that you don’t want spice if you can’t handle it. On street parking is limited but you can park at Coquitlam Centre near the Walmart and walk over.
My family came to visit, so I brought them to a Chinese restaurant. Their food is delicious and the portion is enough. My parents love the seafood and tofu soup and the fried fish fillet with sweet corn sauce. The fried fish is well fried and the corn sauce is a thick sauce instead of watery, so the sauce can stick to the fish. We have also ordered green onion beef and sweet soy glazed spare ribs. The only thing about the restaurant is that they don’t have round tables which my family is used to in a Chinese restaurant. As most of the seats were taken we have to sit very close to the area where they are standing all the time and tray of dirty dishes. Even though they do have something to block off the sight but it’s still very close.
Called for takeout at lunchtime. They were really fast. The cost of each dish is much cheaper than others but the size is smaller. The portions are just right for lunch. The food was tasty so we will definitely return in the future.
2024 update. Still as good as ever. Good good. Good service. Good prices. Got take out during the covid-19 pandemic. Very polite and fast service. Good food, good service, and good prices. Had been to this restaurant many times before and theyre still good and open for take out during covid-19. Very impressed.
The best smelling tea in town! The dim sum was tasty too.
Very good
Excellent food and service!
Excellent food and service
Foods are very good, very tasty, in good portion and generous prices compared with some other Chinese restaurants ridiculous expensive prices. The restaurant menu also provides a lot of choices. Strongly recommend it to everyone and we will go back definitely.
Really great dinner!
I have been to so many countries and eaten a lot of overseas Chinese food, and this one is the worst. The blood and louvers in Maoxuewang are smelly, and the dishes rely on spicy oil to enhance the flavor. Will never go there again.
Great food, will come back again soon.
Very low quality food, and theres so many better places.
Excellent service and dining atmosphere! Highly recommend their nutritional combo for the biggest bang for your buck.
Very clean restaurant, food was good. Love the robot waiter!
Authentic Sichuan restaurant, a place for Chinese people to satisfy their cravings in Coquitlam
Good size portion, good price, good service.
Weve been going to Legend House for years. Its a family favourite. Lovely service staff. Kids love it.
Legend House was a pleasant experience. The waiters were friendly and the food was served quickly. The food was also very palatable.
Great service, great food. I will definitely come back. Mapo tofu is the best. Food : 5/5
Delicious. Ordered mutton noodles.
The servers were so nice and the food came up almost immediately. The dishes were a little too salty and moderately spicy . Give it a try if you like Szechuan cuisine.
Ordered the beef noodle stirfry and everything tasted more boiled rather than fried. The meat was pale. The sauce was very watery so the noodles ended up flavorless cause the sauce wasn t sticking to them. I ve even had foodcourt chinese food better than this one.
As Shanghainese I always hit this restaurant when going to Coquitlam. The xiaolongbao and house special beef are always my favorite! Staff is super friendly too. Will definitely go again in the future
Amazing food with amazing staff, this is our go-to Chinese restaurant now for family gatherings.
It tastes good, not too salty. I ordered tomato egg noodles.
I wouldnt recommend this place for takeout, small portions, food is not so delicious, extra charges for your order about 30% (service fee, delivery fee, not removable tips etc )
Food is delicious and price is decent
Got some fried noodles, kung pao chicken and bogo spring rolls via UberEats. Tiny portions, undercooked noodles, and flavorless chicken. Not worth the price. Skip this one!
Very good. The food service robot is crazy :o! The food was good as well, especially the fish.
Had a delicious meal at Legend House, always my go to spot for Chinese food!
Good Dim sum and Lunch specials !! Great food
Very friendly service. The food was delicious . We had sweet and sour pork and honey garlic spare ribs. Will definitely be back.
The xiaolongbao is particularly delicious. The bullfrog is also particularly delicious. The service is also very good. It tastes like home. This is my favorite restaurant. Highly recommended.
Very authentic food, nice service, reasonable price!
Their 2 person combo was quite good, enough for my husband and I and our toddler. Servers were patient and efficient :).
The environment of this restaurant is very good, very clean and tidy. The food not only looks beautiful, but more importantly, tastes great, both in color and taste. The method retains the original taste of the ingredients, making it fresh and refreshing. Moreover, there are many choices of dishes and the prices are not high, so it is suitable to go with the family.
Amazing dinner avec mes amis! We will definitely come back again and again!
Food was excellent. Server wouldn t honour prices on the menu for happy hour drinks, kind of irritating.
I went to Tianfu for dinner last night and found that the menu has been updated. The updated set menu is very considerate and the taste is still super delicious In addition, the blonde waiter can speak Korean and Cantonese. We thought she was from Hong Kong, but she said she was from Beijing. The language She is so talented and her service is so good. We will definitely come here to eat again. I highly recommend everyone to come to Tianfu Sichuan Restaurant
Basically, we order takeout, many times. The food was very delicious and I never missed a meal. I wish the store a prosperous business!
Take your money elsewhere
The food is amazing I totally recommend the thousand chilli Chicken and the Legends fried rice is one of the best fried rice I ever tried. Staff is incredibly friendly :) love coming here!
Please don t sell pot rice to guests!
I m not sure why the reviews on google are so low, this place is AMAZING! It s weirdly hard to find chinese restaurants that use woodward mushrooms in multiple dishes. I ordered the beef rolls, veggie spring rolls, veggie fried rice, stir fried veggie noodles, chicken & vegetables, scallion pancakes, egg drop soup, and the chicken noodle soup. I had to stomp my feet the beef rolls were so good. Everything is flavorful, not too salty, and great portions for the price. You have a forever fan in me!
Daisy the hostess was really welcoming and kind. The food was served quickly (even by a robot)! This is l, I m my opinion, very delicious high quality authentic Chinese Food. My one of my sons highly recommended this restaurant as one of his favorite in the entire city of Coquitlam. For the quality and taste of the food, plus the hospitality this restaurant has exceeded my expectations and I recommend that if your looking for the closest to being in Shanghai dining experience, you might want to visit Legend House in Coquitlam by Coquitlam Center!
Boiled beef looks/tastes like pork. If the beef is not blanched, is it an idiot to treat it as a customer?
Really recommend the boiled blood curd (really good portion size), the tripe and chilli peppers, and clear noodle salad with sesame. Perfect amount of spice and surprisingly affordable
Great value on take out or eat in, my favorite is the spicy sour soup dumplings and the tomato n egg on rice.
We went here for the first time, ordered dumplings, spicy ginger beef and beef stir fried noodles. The dumpling and ginger beef were great. Than our beef fried noodles arrived as a different plate, chicken stir friend noodles a completely different meat and noodle type so we sent it back. I have never had a restaurant redo the dish by taking out most of the chicken and just adding beef to attempt to rectify the problem. It was very obvious it was just recooked. We ate it and it was ok. But there was chicken in with the beef and everything. Super disappointing.
I ordered gingered beef and dumplings dumplings were okay but beef was way smaller than last time+ sauce was definitely mixed with water as there is no taste whatsoever. They either think i am a fool or they are fools themselves! Total disrespect!
The waitress is not friendly. The menu didn t say they don t provide free drink on weekends. We confused and she said I have a right that don t give drink to us. Food is bad , the sauce is so salty but the meat don t have any taste. so strange food..Canadian maybe like (?) but sorry I am Chinese .This restaurant is not recommended.Never Never.
Worse Ginger Beef Ive ever had. The dip isnt meant for Ginger Beef. Spring Rolls undercooked. Overall an awful dinner I wouldnt feed the scraps to my dog.
Food tasted so bland..had the vegetable tofu stir fried noodles & chicken stir fried vegetables. Worse than food court food.
Tianfus Xiao Long Bao (freshly made, not the refrigerated instant electronic kind, there are 8 in one basket! The skin is very thin and the soup is just right). Shaanxi Liangpi and beef burrito are must-orders every time, but the Liangpi is not available every time. It is said to be a limited edition every day. Its very delicious. This time I ordered the boiled fish recommended by the waiter. The meat is tender and delicious. Its just right for those who cant eat very spicy food. The portion of the dish is enough. I don t know how to adjust the sauce for the saliva chicken. My friend from the United States added it to the big wontons, which makes the wontons taste very special. The service is very good and the environment is very comfortable. Now I eat Chinese food out. The taste and price are good. Even though it is far away from me, I will go there again. Dinner for $20+ per person!
My go-to place when I am craving some simple and quick Chinese food! My favourite dish is their Sichuan Thousand Chilli Chicken. Its very tasty, the dish has well seasoned and crispy battered boneless chicken stir-fried with aromatics, chillis, and green beans. Ive ordered this dish many times over the past few years and the only criticism I have is the consistency for the food. For takeout I usually order through DoorDash which doesnt let you choose the spice level for this dish. Ill ask for this dish to be spicy in the special instructions but I find that they usually dont make this change (not sure if this is a DoorDash issue but whatever). The most recent time Ive ordered this dish it was a little bland and super mild for some reason (maybe different chef?) which was a little disappointing. Ive also gone in-person a couple of times too. The booth seating is nice and comfortable, the tea is all you can drink (within reason haha), and the service is great!
Had lunch with my Indian friends who don t eat pork . One of them really likes Xinjiang big plate chicken (Dapanji), which tasted spicy and a little bit salty. They also like the vegetable spring rolls. Not recommend fried vegetable dumplings. Garlic sweet eggplants was not bad. Services were friendly.
Worst Chinese food in Coquitlam. The beef smells bad and you can not chew. I told the waitress she told me because you paid this price . Does it mean I ordered a lunch then I deserve eat rusted food in a restaurant? The price is resturant published ! I would recommend do not go and try this restaurant worst worst
We came from Portland, Or to come here
Food was amazing. Good quality. And good portions. We enjoyed the pork buns a lot! Food
Generous portions and the taste is on point. Server was very nice and accommodating for my 3-year-old child and family! Food
Updated review (Jan 24, 2024): Arrived at 5 - the only dine in party at the restaurant. I promplty ordered soup dumplings at 510 (what brought me here). Ordered rest of food (chili wontons, ginger beef, wonton soup, szechuan cucumbers, rice) at 520. 530 beef comes by itself. Half the beef was cool/cold upon arrival amd beef was too chewy. 530 I ask about soup dumplings, rice and cucumbers. 535 wonton soup comes and chili wontons. 540 rice comes. 550 asked about soup dumplings and find out they didnt put them in. I told them the quality is not up to par with usual and that we have been coming for 5 years and this was our worst experience. Nothing was offered or done to make up. They prioritized take out customers over dine in. Despite being loyal, regular customers for years and having preciously recommended this restaurant, we will not be returning anytime soon. For transparency, here is my previous 5 star review from 6 months ago: Our go-to in the area. Consistently good quality. Large menu with lots of variety for everyone. The soup dumplings and szcehuan chili wontons are my faves.
Ordered fried rice with app offers buy one get one free, I received half size food just like buy one get zero free.
Worst experience. I came in and waited for a seat, but employee just kept talking in front of me without even asking me to take a seat, so i ended up just leaving the restaurant.
The best Chinese restaurant closed to Coquitlam Centre. We all should give a try. Chinese noodle soup just slightly over $11. Vegan dishes all around $14 Plus, friendly service as always. Highly recommended Chinese Cuisine. Vegetarian options: Shredded Potatoes my favourite
Arrived at 7:30pm on a Friday and it was completely dead. We were the only table (next door, Singapore Hawkers was packed) We haven t dined there since pre-covid. So was surprised as it use to be packed. Ordered: Hot and sour soup 3.5/5 - pretty good but could have been a tad more vinegary. Although the pork which was coated (maybe in corn starch) had a bit of a strange after taste (maybe old) 2 bowls of beef noodle soup 3/5 - hubby said pork had an after taste (maybe similar to the soup), but I m not sure since I didn t have any 2 sleeves of xiao long bao 4/5 - I thought these were pretty good Gai lan 3/5 - looked a bit strange. Veggies were massive and a bit wrinkly. Not bring green and coated with oil like I am use to seeing it. Hubby thought it was over cooked and too soft. I didn t mind it and thought it tasted better than it looked. Fried rice 3/5 - was ok not bad no good nothing memorable Cumin lamb 3/5 - lack lustre. Looked a bit dry tasted ok. Not as good as I remember in the past. Beef roll 2.5/5 - this is a green onion pancake with beef wrapped in between and hoy sun sauce. The wrap wasn t light and fluffy like I am use to. It seemed like it was deep fried (thus harder). Had a bit of a strange taste. Couldn t put my finger as to what was off though. Service was great 4/5 Bill came to $110 before tip. Not sure we ll go back, if we do it will be a long time before and the restaurant needs to be full. Maybe that s why it was empty.
Worst chinese food I have ever eaten. The chicken that was supposed to be crispy was soggy and I am pretty sure my stomach is upset right after I had it. I will never order from them again.
We celebrated our sons Baptism reception here and they were wonderful! The foods were all delicious (we ordered the combos they offer) and their customer service was beyond amazing! They were so kind to accomodate with our requests to make it buffet style, for us to bring some cake and desserts without charging any corkage fees and even to design our buffet area. They are the best! I highly recommend this place! Thanks as well to Shirley for all the help!
Food was very good. We ordered green onion lamb, shrimp with egg, and garlic pea sprouts.
good food
I called them on a thursday and ordered a big take out order for Sunday afternoon. The staff was so accommodating, Friendly, and professional. The food was great. I was very pleased with their service
Fast service, really good XLBs, it was an all around great experience. Food really hit the spot! Words by my girlfriend.
Kung Pao Chicken w. Rice lunch special. The dish was not that spicy at all. The flavours could be stronger but it was still good. Sadly, I was still a bit hungry after this meal. Their free tea was excellent and their service was terrific. Parking: Street parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor and plenty of space.
14 Mar 2023 Great and friendly service - the owner, Mr Guan and the server, Shirley are both pleasant and genuine. Have been there 3 times already and will definitely patronize again. The seating is comfortable, clean dining area and washrooms. Food is reasonably priced, generous portion and great taste. Overall dining experience I give 5 stars...
We have been to many Szuchuan restaurants in the Lower Mainland and this place is definitely one of our top choices! Being a Szuchuan restaurant it is easy to end up having most of the dishes tasting similar - but it s not the case here. We had Fu-qi-fei-pian, Ma-po tofu, and Shui-zhu beef, all with fantastic but distinct flavour! When we went, the staff was busy packing take out orders and taking her lunch but stopped to say hi and chitchat when she was done. Will come again!
Has the chef been changed? I haven t ordered takeout from your place for a month. The food is twice as salty and not as delicious as before.
BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT!!
My girlfriend said that every time she ate from his house, she would have a stomachache all day long; To prove my girlfriend wrong, I tried once, I don t think there s much to say about the taste, it tastes great. But I didn t have diarrhea all day. I ate it on Friday and now its Sunday morning and Im posting this comment while sitting on the toilet and Im still having diarrhea.
Ma po Tofu does not taste same as before. Theres no pepper corn, no spice at all. Failed.
Yummmmm! We finally went to eat-in at our favourite Uber Eats restaurant. First off, street parking is free on Sundays! So I m sure happy that s the day we went. Food was delicious as always, if not better than delivery. Portion was a bit more and each dish is about $1-2 less than priced on Uber Eats. The only unfortunate thing is how LOUD the fan is inside. I wonder if that s why there were no other people eating there & a bunch of pick-up orders By the way, you can get 10% off pick up! *wink* Our favourite dishes are the Sichuan dumplings & Sichuan stir fried noodles. If I could buy that sauce they use for their Sichuan dishes, I would pour it on everything. Loooove it.
Yummy! We come here regularly for dinner :) great food and service :):)
The food is excellent. Fresh, just proper spicing and big full dishes. The customer service is outstanding. I would highly recommend this place
The food has improved compared to the last time I visited, which was several years ago. The soup dumplings ( ) were juicy and the wrapper was just thick enough so that it wouldnt break when you pick it up. However the soup inside was slightly too salty for me. The beef roll was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The noodles were flavourful but were cooked too soft
Service attitude is extremely bad
Authentic taste and generous portions. Some dishes can be quite spicy so be aware of your spice tolerance level. Lunch combos is such a good deal especially in 2023
Its a difficult task trying to find good salt and pepper squid but legend house makes a fabulous one! So good!
Rude front staff she was on her phone didn t get her name. I was picking up my skipthedishes order and i needed to use the bathroom and she didn t let me. Would not come back and order at this place.
Stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday and had maybe the best kung pao chicken I ve ever eaten. Spicy and flavourful!
The food is poor, the pickled fish and fish are not fresh, the pea shoots are very old and they are taken out for cooking. The middle-aged waitress (from the north) has a very bad attitude and is very impatient. I will not go there again.
The dishes are more in line with foreigners preferences for Chinese food... This is nothing. The main reason is that there is a waitress who is very attentive to foreigners and cant even call us when its our turn. She feels that she is pretending to be busy and cant see us eating. I have many friends. I m very depressed and will never go there again and don t recommend it to anyone! This restaurant has the worst service in Vancouver DO NOT go
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant, mainly because the woman at the front was incredibly rude and unethical. Her communication with customers was awful, and I witnessed her treating the delivery person in a completely inappropriate manner. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, as the staff lacks basic respect towards their guests. Employees like her doesn t deserve to work anywhere.
Good prices, good portion size, fast service.
Very super unfriendly woman working here. Seemed like she hated me simply for being White.
Favorite Chinese restaurant in the area! The Szechuan broth braised fish, eggplant in bean sauce, scrambled egg with shrimp, beef rolls - there are so many excellent dishes that hit the spot and are great sharing dishes buffet style when I order for guests at home!
Good portion sizes and tasty food!
The mapo tofu was so spicy that I was charged an extra fifty cents when I swiped my credit card.
Lots of food to choose from. I recommend coming here with a bigger party so you can get a variety of things since the portions are quite large.
Paid over 200$ and they couldn t even fill up the dips cups (photo below), forgot drinks, portions are ridiculously small. Take my advice, go somewhere else!
I ordered sweet and sour chicken and a rice dish and when Uber Eats delivered it there wasnt chicken in the dish it was thought double fried pork! When I called to say the problem the woman yelled at me! I will take this back to them after rush hour to see if I can get this resolved. Ill keep you posted.
It tastes terrible and the waiter has a bad attitude!
Excellent service and great prices!! Fantastic authentic foods and waitress where very helpful and friendly!! I would recommend this place
my favorite sichuan/spicy restaurant in coquitlam their shanghai noodles are also nice I went there many times. food is not 100% perfect but always 95+ never gets disappointed taking out arrangement is nice too the quality of plastic boxes is better than other Chinese restaurant never leak and get your hands oily the only problem is they dont have parking you need to walk several mins
We come here at least once a month for the spicy gingered beef, Szechuan wontons and xiao long Bao! Really yummy food for a good price.
Loving the food here. Xiao Long Bao needs to be more consistent.
The food spices are not fragrant enough and there is no spicy feeling It can even be said to be light.
This placed used to be so good, but its really gone downhill! The soup dumplings were disappointing - the filling was just okay, but the wrapper was so thick, be prepared for a mouthful of bland dough! Chili oil noodles were bland. The spicy fish was bland (I dont know how it could have been bland when there was so much chili, but theyve done it!). Veggies were weirdly super salty. Theyve changed the menu too. You used to be able to see into the kitchen and watch them hand-make dumplings and everything, but theyve covered it up now - minor, I know, but it was such a nice touch before! The service was pretty good, but otherwise... Big disappointment. We wont be coming back.
Just had a family dinner in the boxing day. Had a little bit surprise over so many recently bad reviews. Ordered sweat sour pork, steam buns, Boiled Fish with Pickled Cabbage, and dandan noodle. Other than a little bit salty, all taste so good.
Noodles were so poorly cooked they were just gelatinous masses of bland, doughy mush. Soup dumplings were okay, and the sweet & sour pork was decent even though its misleadingly labeled spicy when it doesnt have even a whisper of warmth. Overall the quality was somewhere around cafeteria food, and I definitely feel like I overpaid.
Food quality has gone down the last couple of times I visited the place. The dumplings used to be so good, and the other dishes as well. Unfortunately the food does not taste authentic anymore and everything is just plain.
they get mad if you don t tip lol
Food was way better several months ago, The ginger beef tasted like sweet and sour beef even after we asked them to make the food spicy. However the service from the Chinese lady was very friendly.
One of the cooks was not wearing mask in the kitchen. When I pointed it out to the server, she became defensive and rude. I will not be coming back.
Ordered two different noodle dishes and got the same noodle type in both
The taste is very weak, it seems that the chef has changed.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY OR HEALTH ON THIS PLACE. Some friends and I ordered dinner from here last night, I have a shelfish allergy and my friends were very specific on every single dish when we ordered it do not have any shellfish or fish sauce or anything cooked in fish. Not only was the quality of the food terrible, the portion sizes for the price were not worth it. And I had an allergic reaction to the food immediately! Never will we order from here again
Came here for some Xiao Long Bao and I wasnt disappointed. Not sure what all these negative reviews are about but I would recommend coming here for lunch and order off the Dimsum menu which is reasonably priced given the huge portions.
Short conclusion: I will definitely go back for certain dishes but take out only. Dishes we ordered: A. Pan fried beef rolls: The flavor is good. The wraps are hot and crispy which I dont understand why are inside of the beef slices cold? B. Shanghai soup dumplings: Good fillings and flavor. But the wraps are too thick. It was thiner in a few months ago. C. Boiled blood curd and internals: Generous portion. The whold dish was hot but some of ingredients are cold....The Sichuan peppercorns used for conish but not in the flavor. Plus, the intestinal didnt clean week and contents the strong unpleasant taste. D. Scramble eggs with shrimps: Good. Alittle bite of greasy tho. And again. Even it was freshly made dish but the shrimps were cold... E. Deep fried tofu: Hot and crispy. My friends and my favorite dish today. Soaked in the chilly oil from dish D brought more of satisfaction. The service was friendly. Unfortunately, the kitchen vent wasnt strong enough and the whole restaurant was under the smokey greasy smells which not good for my breathing and lungs issue. I ended up packing all of dishes home. Loving their tea. I thought its black tea with rose flowers. After talking to the lady. It is the leechee black tea.
terrible foods. stir fried beef was raw and cold. other dish is too salty. will not come back again.
Customer service was horrible, my order was either forgotten or the preference was give to the group of 4 who came after me and had their meal ready. If you go yourself expect the delays. After I realized other people were served, I heard them saying there is one more order, which was mine, so another 10 minutes minimum, I took off and went to another store. For the price they charge, I had a nice meal at the store next to them at Singaporean Hawker. Result: My lunch brake was ruined and I had to take out food and eat at desk while working. If the restaurant doesn t treat people properly, why give them business when there are so many other options? P.S: Restaurant was not busy (25% Capacity) and I waited 20-25 minutes overall. For the record, I have tried that place before and taste of the food is okay, but not something wow to wait for it and stand in line. Thank you for that experience.
Lovedddd this place. 10/10. Get the soup dumplings and green onion pancakes !!
I have visited/ordered from this restaurant for a few times, and at least half of the visits/orders were problematic. Smelly chicken in dishes, poorly packed orders for delivery causing leaking. Worst part is they never admit their mistake and never apologize. I should have stopped ordering from them earlier, but I will from now on. If you don t want to ruin your mood for dinner, don t choose this one. For the particular case today, they have packed two bowls with soup on top of another box like a tower, and the only thing in between those two bowls was just a tiny cardboard which is smaller than the bottom of the bowl. No doubt the whole package would fall apart. And they tried to blame the Uber Eats driver for that. Fortunately we have the whole incident video recorded. This is really frustrating! Nobody should suffer from this kind of poor services!
Serious nosedive in food quality.
Worst part is never admit their mistake and apologize. The waiter takes to long to come our table and order our food. one waiter staff and the owner. We are not coming back this restaurant.
Gary is a great owner and has kept the quality of food here high for years. Favourite Chinese restaurant in coquitlam and Ive been to a lot. Recommend the thousand chili chicken, the mapo tofu, the minced pork with green beans and the Xiao long bao.
i wish i didn t have to even rate 1 star. my first time experience dining here earlier tonight was pretty okay. same as any restaurant. but then come time to pay. two girls were at the front desk, Mimi and someone else, and Mimi helped me with the card machine. because my experience was quite average i decided i m not going to tip. Mimi then proceeds to ask me once my receipt is printed why i did not tip. excuse me??? i found that very rude. never coming back here
Very reasonable prices. Good quality food and decent portions.
SO terrible since new owners! It s been a handful of years since they took over and we thought to give the food another try since our last awful experiences. It use to be good food using fresh produce. The chilli green beans were hardly green, wouldn t feed them to our dogs. Use to be hand made noodles with flavour. Shanghai noodles, flavourless and most certainly not hand made. $80 in food and we threw out two entire dishes and will toss anything left. Never to return again!
Although the lockdown has been completely lifted, I came to Tianfu with my friends today but didn t see the expected crowds. I think everyone is still worried about internal use. I ordered three dishes today, including mutton and tofu soup, stir-fried bean sprouts, fresh pepper tripe and two bowls of white rice. What attracted us the most was the fresh pepper and hairy tripe. Look at the diced peppers, minced green onions, bean sprouts and hairy tripe. The colors match well. The price should be considered mid-range, but the plate of fried bean sprouts actually costs $20 95, which feels a bit expensive. Since the fried bean sprouts are not on the menu, I don t know whether Tianfu sets the price based on current prices or... unknown. The next time I come here to eat, I will definitely ask the price before using my chopsticks, so that I won t feel like I m being ripped off.
The service was so bad. There were only 3 other tables and they asked if we were ready to order 2 minutes after sitting down. We waited at least 25 minutes for them to come back to take our order and they never did.
I lived in Coquitlam over 30 years and this restaurant is the worst, food is not good, no minimum services. One of the lady seems is the in charge and with very poor service. I will never go there again.
I entered legend house not knowing what to expect and I was BLOWN AWAY by how good the food was. Just so good. Sooooo good. And the lady was super friendly as well. I had the marbled pork with sliced cabbage and the flavors knocked my socks off. I will return and recommend to everyone I know.
Today we need to go through some personal biz that we have to lunch outside; Passing by and went in this restaurant, ordered a braised beef noodles, a Szechuan Dan dan noodles, plus a Sh ng ji n bao i. e. Pan fried pork bun. The portions of the two noodles are more than sufficient (in my standard), the taste is very good too, plus there is no feeling of thirst after. If you need to, you can ask for a light spicy for the noodles, but I believe that everyone can accept the regular level. Meat in the Sh ng ji n bao is full and the size of the bao is reasonable. With regards to the price, it is absolutely affordable for a lunch. Service is good too, it was lunch time and only one server, but the lady is very polite, she kept pouring us tea, when asking for extra things, she responded quickly.
Some of the worst service I have ever experienced I would not recommend. The food wasnt to good either.
Been here a few times for take out and love their hot and sour soup; so we decided to eat in for lunch, which was a disappointed experience. The senior lady server at cashier was friendly, accommodating and welcoming, according to my previous experience. She let us get the table ourselves as she was on the phone taking orders, which was totally fine. Then it comes the younger female server, she was rude the whole time, and you could tell she doesn t wanna be there. No smile, non- responsive to our requests (we always say thank you and she d just walked away with an attitude). There s no service at all; she basically took our order, dropped off food on table and that s it. No water refill or checking on us. When the first dish came, there s no tea/water/cutlery/plates/bowls on table. Resturant was not busy at all, only a few tables. And here comes the best part; she dropped the bill and walked away. We paid cash at the table and left. As we walked out, she chased us down and confronted us did you pay? I was shocked and confused and said yes. she asked again and I said yes! Cash is on the table! . It shows how inattentive she was! not even checked the table before confronting customers for not paying. The Legend house is losing customers for service like this, even food was decent. Not recommended and will not go back. P.S: the chicken dish we ordered was definitely different than the actual dish picture on their website.
Terrible service and and very slow They brought us the wrong food. And food wasnt amazing
Busy restaurant in the heart of the Coquitlam Town Centre. Great food and reasonable prices.
Slow and terrible service and its not even busy. Staff are all rude.
Authentic and delicious
Came for the black pepper beef but learned they no longer make their own noodles in house which is sad. Overall food was fine, I was craving pan fried pork buns which they had. Also had the cumin beef noodles and dan dan noodles. Dan dan was not very peanut saucy which is what I was hoping for. Restaurant was not busy, food came quickly, waitress was nice.
Nice place; tasty and affordable
Very good soup dumplings. Better than the other chain restaurants. Will come back again. Good service
Good place with big portions of food.
Kid-friendliness: Very Good!!
Parking: parking stall is not enough
Food was great, service was excellent. Very nice restaurant.
very good
The meat in the big plate of cauliflower is a bit salty. I personally prefer the sweet and spicy fish-flavored shredded pork.
Great food! Kind people
Parking: Too less
My family had dinner with another family here. Surprisingly the dishes are very tasty and not spicy despite the look. My kids love their food. Will come back with my family again next time.

We drive out of town to eat here - it s our favourite restaurant! The dan dan noodles and pan fried pork buns are the best. The service is always fast and friendly.
The food is so good.
Amazing dinner, lovely service, best Chinese restaurant in Coquitlam!
Variety of dishes and authentic taste recommended
the food here are great. good service and it doesn t take long to be served. large servings, very worth the money.
It was a great meal, our go to Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, staff were very patient.
fine
Good value and tasty. They have good portions for the amount you pay for, and a lot of their dishes have lots of flavor. We always order takeout, so I dont know how their service is. But our takeout is always on time, which we appreciate a lot! Our go-to favorites: Si chuan broth braised fish (order with white rice), sliced beef with sour & spicy soup (also order with white rice), and Legend House fried rice, Legend House Fried Noodles. I havent tried any other dishes, but those alone I give 5 stars.
Food was delicious! Definitely coming back.
Great spicy food
What a great experience! The portions are large and the taste is authentic! The price is fair!
Really authentic and tasty food. The Sichuan Fish in broth is always really good. Very spicy and lots of fish and vegetables. The beef roll is tasty too and massive. The servers are all very friendly.
Good food, clean place. Will come again

Service was so bad, the food teast awful
Nice food! Fish, beef and soup all very delicious!
Surprising, they serving amazing chinese food
one of our favs glad they survived ...
No longer Legendary. Quality lately is way off. I used to order from here a few times a month but Im done for a while. Ill check back next year. The House fried rice is not longer fried or spicy. The Sweet and Sour Pork tastes like its fried in old dirty oil and the tomato rice is very mushy and unseasoned.
Fried rice tasted like nothing . Dont waste money
I absolutely love this place, it s our go to Chinese take out. Their crispy ginger beef and dan dan noodles are so tasty! It s great that they make their own noodles, you can really taste the difference.
