Hong King Style Cafe. Large Variety of food. We offer 10% off for any online take out order and any dine-in order when order from my APP.
Food quality has gone down quite a bit. The service is still great and it's a clean place to dine at along with being able to accomodate larger tables. I'd go again if it was the only option around here.
A fine Hong Kong style restaurant. I found the prices a bit on the higher side, but just slightly. The portions were generous, and the baked rice was quite creamy and delicious.
Been here twice, never again! Would have selected zero stars for food if that option was available. This isn't all the food we got. We also had a kid's meal and a onion soup. Super salty soup. Kid's meal was ok but pricey. Basically everything in here is pricey yet quality is not up to par. Not an ordinary Hong Kong style cafe. Stay away!
HK style cafe with wide variety of food from western to asian to fusion! Great steak combo and 10% off ordering on line even when eating in. Food is more than decent and the portion size is large.
My partner and I went there for brunch. We ordered Mexican and vegetarian omelet. We pick the French toast to come with. Also we asked for coffee. The menu was really rich and you will have variety of different opinions. We really loved the omelets. The French toast was perfect. For the coffee I just prefer to have suger, milk and cream on the table like as every where else( they just asked us how many suger we want and put 4 milk on the table, not even in the plate). Overall I really liked it and we will go back to try lunch and dinner .
Food is delicious. I had the chicken with salted fish fried rice. It was made perfectly with wok hay. You can taste the salted fish. The kitchen forgot my wife's order but unlike other typical Asian restaurant where the server just says it is coming, she apologized and went to follow up immediately. The atmosphere is loud and tables cramped. It is busy so you definitely need to wait. The washroom is 3/5 stars. Difficult to find any slippery floor.
Best HK style cafe in Coquitlam. Services and food are fast and efficient. The food is high quality and decently priced. Breakfast ranges from $12-$14 Lunch ranges from $14-$18 Dinner set menus ranges from $19-$23
Delicious and solid place for classic Hong Kong Cafe food. You can order online from your phone and they give you a 10% off discount if you order this way. There are plenty of combos that come with a drink and the menu is vast with both Western and Asian dishes. Highly recommend the tomato sauce baked ox tongue with a pasta of your choice. The tomato sauce was creamy, sweet, tangy, and savoury reminiscent of Campbell’s tomato soup. The lobster bisque was filled with lobster shell flavour. The red bean and grass jelly ice tasted delicious and refreshing serving as a dessert and drink at the same time. Everything tasted delicious. The portions for the fish and chips and pork and chicken cutlet and steak were good. There are comfy diner booth like seats to sit in and eat.
It is our first visit to M Cafe. Great taste with generous portion. It is a very popular spot I see. Will definitely visit again.
Not delicious
Everything is decent, I havent tried all of their menu yet.
Best breakfast place. Plate of eggs, bread, bacon and a bowl of macroni or noodles HK style for only $15. Super full and dont need lunch that day
Food is probably 30%+ more expensive than comparable places. If you don t want to have carbs, there is little choice for you on the menu. On the contrary, you can really pig out on carbs (like I did 10 years ago). I ordered pork skewers; very chewy. Nice seating, best part of this place IMO.
The service so bad unless you are a regular just go to Copa always good service
Close to 4 stars. Food is okay and the amount of food was more than enough to eat. Service was okay. Price was quite expensive than the average.
Food is okay. You will need to order from the app but its not difficult.
Food is really overpriced and tastes average at the most. Im really disappointed considering its like over 30 bucks per person.
Food was good, price okay
Their prices are higher compared to other HK Style Cafe places in Richmond, but its one of the best (and only) options in Coquitlam and they have big portions that taste really good!
Service was dismal. After seating us, the host disappeared without a word and left us with an all Chinese menu assuming we could read it. Then we found a QR code to peruse the menu. We flagged a waitress to take our order only for her to explain that we had to send the order to the kitchen by hitting checkout on their menu. We only saw the wait staff once more when she served our food. After dinner we had to walk around the restaurant to find staff again to get take out containers and settle our bill. Portions were generous but the food was quite bland. Definitely not coming back and not recommending this place.
Poor service....
No cutlery, soup is lukewarm, food is bland, and nothing good.
My 4 years old was yelled at by a waitress for touching one of the plants they have by the window. The other waitress told him that the plant would die if it gets touch. Mind you, this is your regular succulents. May I kindly suggest that you do not put the plants within reach of a table going forward if they are so valuable. Oh food was good but it was an interesting experience.
Was visiting some family and they come here often so they brought us here. We had a big group of ppl (12 ppl), ordering was super easy with the phone and it even all goes on the same bill. Fod was great, HK cafe style and portions are big.
The tea glass is dirty! The sun side up egg is not in standard, and if you ask Scott and pepper, they will give you a small cup and I don t know how to put it into my food ? Not enough servant to serve you.
(Aug/13,7:30pm)Such very bad style chinese restaurant ,asked for table that we want, The manager insist told us to sit the table that he wanted which is close to washroom, two tables are available, but he told us they are reserved, later, one of table was taken,l asked these people about revservation, they said just walked in,so,we are so disappointed, and then we leave, wont come back, bad manner, bad services even we are regular customer!
Taste lunch daily special cuisines! Clean , relaxing & delicious meals
Best Hong Kong style cafe in Coquitlam. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Serves both Chinese and western cuisine.
Bad service, waiters threw plates of food on the table
The borscht soup is full of ingredients, the baked pig fried rice is a fried rice base, and the white rice grains are dipped in egg paste and full of egg fragrance. Its very delicious!
Hong Kong style delicious, Laohuo soup with real ingredients, good service
First time here. Heard about it from a friend. A huge HK Style cafe. Very efficient way of ordering by QR code menu. The food came within 10 minutes of ordering. We ordered one dish between my senior Mom. More than enough food, a good portion. Chicken seared perfectly on top of the flat rice noodle. Good. Wok hay :) cant judge the rest of the menu. Clean restaurant. Plenty of parking. Accessibility friendly. Good for families. Wheelchair accessibility: Parking and ramp easy to enter.
I have been a regular customer for years but after Covid lockdown their food prices have gone up around 30% and they changed the way you order food. Now they use a QR code when you get a table and you order your food with an app. I find it very difficult and annoying. Last visit I used their paper menu and marked my order with a pen. To my surprise the owner reprimanded me not to mark it with a pen. How rude he treated a customer over a 10 cent worth of paper. I dont plan to come back there and wish him luck with his business.
Fast and delicious food. Worth going
When you visit HK(Hong Kong) style cafe, I would recommend not much good service as their culture where they are from is different from North American. Their original culture are based on crowded and packed city life which offers face food serving time without much social communications. I see that they are trying to be more adapted to the Canadian style but I wouldnt put my hopes up. If you keep that in your consideration, you would be less shocked visiting HK style cafe. They implemented app ordering system even for dining in option which helps to deliver accuracy in case of miscommunications due to language barrier, rushed service, and lack of understanding of food items if you are new to this restaurant. You will be seated and a printed copy of QR code will be provided. If you want to use the QR code which need to be connected to their mobile app, make sure to download M cafe app before visiting the restaurant. Scan the QR code using a cellphone camera which will be connected to the app, you can find the menu and select your choice of food. The QR code will indicate the table you will be sitting at and the order will be placed through the app. Then, you can sit and relax until the food is served. Once you are done with your meal, they accept the payment at the till. Walk up to the bar area to pay. They used to take debit and cash, but now accept Visa and Amex. Double check which credit card they accept when you are seated in case I am mistaken about the credit card accepted. I like their fried rice or noodle options. But I feel like deep fried pork chops are slightly smelly in my liking. Currently offering 10% off the bill before tax if you use a mobile app order. You can also order in person if you wish, then you need to ask for a printed menu.
First time here. Food is tasty and portion is big. Price is reasonable
The food was reasonable but I found them expensive. I also ordered non-sugar bubble tea. Before ordering, I asked if no sugar option was available. I was told that it was, but the bubble tea was so sweet that I could not even drink it. Using a phone to order food at the restaurant gives an online discount. This may be a plan to increase the price with less resentment from customers by terminating the online discount. This would be a good idea if this is their plan. wait and see.
Delicious HK food and milk tea
Generous portion. Very busy at lunch time.
Please dont falsely sell what your chef doesnt know how to cook char kway teow. Ordered a char kway teow on Uber and the dish turned out to be the same as their Shrimp & BBQ Pork Fried Vermicelli Singapore Style just different noodle it even smell the same. Google whats char kway teow before you add that to your menu.
It was my first time trying this restaurant and unfortunately I was quite disappointed. It was more expensive than other HK style cafes, yet the food was subpar. The portions were average/good, but the quality of the food was unsatisfactory. We ordered several dishes, and while most of them tasted just okay, I have complaints over a couole specific ones. Lobster grilled cheese: this item was close to $30, yet the ingredients were very cheap. The lobster didnt taste real, I suspected they may have used imitation lobster. The cheese was also highly processed - it tasted like Cheese Whiz. For $30, I would expect it to have bits of real lobster and use some real cheese (even if its just some regular cheap cheddar cheese, not Kraft Singles or Cheese Whiz). Very disappointing and not worth the price BYO Noodles: the nappa cabbage they used was bitter The service was not great either. I will certainly not be returning.
Table and seat looked clean. Deep-fried, battered pork was really good, and steamed veggie side was also good. Clam chowder was ok. Fried rice with shrimp and dried meat was tasty. Red bean drink was yummy with low sugar option. Portions are bigger than for one person Dietary restrictions: Without the sauce, the deep fried pork and steamed vegetables have no noticeable seasoning. The clam chowder has no noticeable seasoning and is watered down compared to normal clam chowder.
A nice HK style tea restaurant situated in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The space is quite large so they can accommodate large parties and no need for reservations. They let you order off of a QR code on the table and you save an extra 10% if you do that versus ordering from a server. The food comes quickly, as do the drinks, soup, etc. everything eventually costs money, like most HK tea restaurants, you wind up paying a bit more for things like iced drinks or specialty drinks. Price point is a bit high for an HK tea restaurant, but food is decent, service is nice, and having the large space makes it a good choice for last minute or late night eats.
Great portions and good tasting food. Some servers might be a bit rude and they charge 1$ for just ice LOL
First time to this restaurant and we will definitely be back. The menu is the most eclectic menu Ive ever seen. It was mainly chinese dishes but had dishes such as lamb with veggies, Indian roti, Japanese hotpot, Thai fried rice...If you have group of people who cant decide on what cuisine they want to eat, this might be the place for you. They had the Taste of the Tri-Cities menu out and it was your pick of 2 proteins (steak, porkchop, fish...), veggies, fries and a dessert. It was priced at $29.99 and we thought you would get a small portion of meat but it came out on a hot plate with two very large pieces of meat and they poured gravy on top that made the whole thing smoke up and sizzle. Great little show with dinner. The steak was okay. tender but obviously a cheaper cut. The fish that came with it was really good, it had been lightly battered then fried then doused in that gravy. Good meal for two people who dont eat too much or a really sizable meal if you are hungry. It also started with your choice of two soups, a cream soup of some kind or borscht, yes borscht at a chinese restaurant, and it was good. The dessert was a Honk Kong style french toast with ice cream. We werent really sure what that was going to entail but it was a really delicious dessert. The french toast was crunchy and a little sweet, not too sweet, and it was soft and chewy on the inside. We couldnt figure out what was inside the french toast but it was very nice. We also order the Thai Style Spicy Fried Rice and that was very good. greasy, spicy and full of umami. It was too spicy for the people I was with but perfect for me. We will definitely be back to this place.
Good portions and tasty. Clean restaurant with a good environment inside. Lots of customers even right before closing.
The best Hong Kong cafe in Coquitlam
Good quality food and portion is pretty good. Definitely a gem in the area!
Poor waitress
As a local HK style restaurant located in Coquitlam, the food is above average in comparison with other similar restaurants in the Lower Mainland.
Yesterday I came here for brunch with my friends from Hong Kong. There were quite a lot of people dining there. There were two options for brunch, A and B. My friend and I chose A and B. I think all the meals here are okay, but one meal I chose was ramen, but when it came, it was not the ramen I had in mind. After all, this is Hong Kong food. His hot almond soup is very delicious. When served, When the staff brought it over, I could smell the aroma of lemon from a distance. Although I dont like Hong Kong food, I will still come to this restaurant.
good quality & portion of food, great service. spacious restaurant. decent number of parking spots
Very good parking place. We ordered 3 S Decaf coffee. Economy price. Sr, 1 s Hot water. Self pick-up. Very good location. Please refer. 4 photos.
Reasonable price, goid fiid and many selection. You get an extra discount if you order you foid by QR code.
Baked pork chop with rice (Gillette pork chop + fried rice base) is hot enough but not greasy, and the tomato sauce is not too sour. The borscht is hot enough, has enough ingredients and is spicy. Hot Hong Kong-style milk tea, the tea and milk have a balanced flavor and will not cause gastrointestinal discomfort. The whole combo is perfect for keeping warm in the winter.
Always love here for breakfast ! Nice people and good service .
Great food with reasonable price.
Delicious Asian comfort food.
Great HK style Cafe with generous portions of food. They offer mobile ordering and payment through their app even for dining in and it works great. Would be better if their website had more pictures of their menu.
Good Hong Kong style food.
Large, delicious portions that are definitely worth their price. Ive had some experiences with some bad service, but the staff are very kind.
In short over priced. Food is decent but other restaurants of the same category go significantly cheaper.
Best crunchy noodle dish.
Large portions. Very tasty.
The breakfast menu is actually a photocopied order form, provdied with a little golf pencil to check the boxes for ones order. The form was confusing. I ordered from group A, asking for sausage and eggs with toast. I received two eggs cooked as requested, two pieces of toast and two of those little budget breakfast sausages, of the type one learns not to buy from the grocery store next time.. Where are the hashbrowns?, I asked. They dont have any. Salt and pepper and ketchcup were provided in little plastic cups. An odd experience, but not bad for the price.
We eat here since they opened on the first day:p. We love all dishes. Most employees know us!! The best Hong Kong style cafe in Tri-city!!!! Kid-friendliness: My sons favorite cafe forever : p. We eat here almost 10yrs! All waiter and waitress are very kind!!! My son was 3yr old on the first day they opened:)
Totally not recommended .. . pork was not fresh as used to be ..Very fishy ..also others Cary dish...Both tastes crop. Different management or the chef is inexperienced..
The food taste was meh... Meat lacks flavor Big quantity on the rice side and is not proportion for the meat I think its best to avoid orders for singles like rice bowls. I saw on other tables that noodles seem to have a sharing sizes.
A+ service A+ price A++ food quality A+++ food portion Not sure why M Cafe gets a bad rap. I ve been coming here for a few years and the service has always been good. The breakfast is a good deal and if you use the app you save 10% or something. Also there regular dishes are priced fairly and you get huge portions. The food is flavourful and for a dollar or so you get a drink.
This big baked pork chop rice with tomato sauce is really unbeatable It tastes better than Hong Kong food, and the portion should be enough for two people. This jumbo baked pork chop with fried rice tasted so good that is comparable to those in Hong Kong. Portion is huge and can feed two people.
Order through an app and you get a discount. Food was nice portion size.
Came here the First time from Vancouver. Order the lunch Time special Bake Pork Chop on Rice Como delicious meal at a good value. Comes with soup, and HK-style iced coffee. A big portion of the pork chop was crispy and juicy inside. Excellent service Friendly and very professional. I will definitely come back to try more dishes!! Parking: Lots of parking spaces around the restaurant.
Best kept secret in the Coquitlam.
Trying this place for the first time, just hubby and myself. The menu is big, lots of variety, but the price is not cheap. You ll have to spend between $20-$30 per person for 1 dish. Since the portion is big, probably better to share. Asian way of sharing may reduce the cost per person. The service was good and fast! Even though we dined in, we ordered from the app and got 10% off. Some beverages are included when order with a dish(combo). Coffee HK style, tea HK style, and just add $2 for specialty drinks. Take out container cost Parking is available, free and easy access.
The decent food is not worth the awful service and rude staff.
Gloucester on cambie st. is much better than mcafe in terms of service, interior and most importantly food. Then again options are limited in coquitlam
Food is great. Especially the stone bowls!
Love M Cafe!
Not bad
One day last year, my classmate and I met at M Cafe in Coquitlam and had a nice lunch here. We were impressed with their New York steak and Japanese Mini Hot Pot. Since then, I love this Hong Kong style restaurant because it provides quite different styles cuisine. My family and friends had dinner together at M cafe many times and love their Asian or Chinese dishes, such as Hainanese Chicken, Thai style Chili Prawns, Malaysian curry, Braised Seafood on Rice in Spanish Style, Eggplant and egg tofu XO sauce, and Buddha s delight (a kind of vegetables) etc. The environment is clean, and services are nice as well. Parking lots are available.
Good was great!
Overpriced small portion
The Amelia doesn t look good, and the eggs are too thick and oily, and there is not enough ham in the noodles. It needs to be improved
Food is good but service needs a lot of work. Dining with my Asian friend, waitress brings him chop sticks and a fork for me. When I asked for chop sticks she sounded surprised. She should have asked before serving us. Then she brings out the wrong dish. Was not the best experience.
The best hk cafe in tricities, service is quick and spot on! Been going for years and it never disappoints.
Bad service, and bad food! Not to rely on the posts.
Excellent food
Super rich
Delicious food and coffee
Excellent food and service 100% recommended
First visit today bad experience. The waitress who served me was rude. Care less and don t give a F. Bad attitude and customer service. Food is average. I will not visit again. Sorry!
The food quality is good but is completely ruined but the atrocious service! The servers just hang around in the back and when they do come to your table their attitudes are just horrible.
Went with family, price was a bit high and soup came out not hot. Meat was very nice and the coffee was also smooth. Waiters gave us a larger round table instead of a smaller table, which was weird. A large family came, and they had to pull together 3 smaller tables. The small tables were also free when we came in.
Great food and portions. Never got a dish that I disliked. The place is bigger than Coppa, so you can sit more comfortably, imo.
Terrible customer service. Everyone needs to go to copa cafe
My favourite HK style Cafe in Coquitlam, my go to place for comfort food.
Classic & authentic HK Cafe Cuisine done right. Ive been coming to M Cafe for many years, its become a pillar of the cantonese/hong kong community in coquitlam for awhile now. Family run by some of the sweetest people youll meet, and theyre constantly contributing back to the community through fundraisers etc for locals. Portions are generous, food is delicious, service is very good by HK style standards. Also, if you order from their app you get 10% off the check. Their baked dishes are some of the best in all of BC, ham and shredded chicken with their white wine dill sauce is a must try. Their steak combos are also great, and they have a Chinese soup combo which comes with an entree and rice, their deep fried cod with deep fried tofu pot is the best. Very roomy restaurant with lots of seating and very clean as well, the staff here are exceptionally hard working and attentive. Price is average by todays standards, looking at about $18 for their small sized portions (still very large) and about $20 to $24 for large portions (can be easily shared between 2 people). Not cheap but given their portions, very acceptable.
Update Aug 2023: Beef brisket fried noodles is salty to the extreme. Informed the server and hope that this will improve in the future. Original Post: It s one of the best Hong Kong style cafes in Greater Vancouver in terms of ambience and decor. However, one long time male server is really very bad in terms of attitude - No smile whatsoever. He can be a tourist attraction showcasing traditional HK style server behaviour. If I find any improvement, I ll remove this post to be fair to that person. Update Feb 2021: There s some improvement in that server. Food quality has been consistently good. I m giving it 4-stars from 3-stars
I recently dined at M Cafe, hoping to indulge in some authentic Hong Kong cuisine. While the restaurants ambiance and service were satisfactory, I must admit that I was slightly disappointed by the overall experience. The menu boasted a variety of traditional Hong Kong dishes, which piqued my interest. However, upon tasting the food, I found that the flavors were rather average and didnt quite live up to my expectations. I was hoping for a burst of authentic flavors that would transport me to the bustling streets of Hong Kong, but sadly, that wasnt the case. Adding to the disappointment were the prices. M Cafes menu comes with a hefty price tag that doesnt seem entirely justified by the taste of the food. I understand that quality ingredients and preparation can warrant higher prices, but I couldnt shake off the feeling that I was paying more for the ambiance and location rather than an exceptional culinary experience. On a positive note, the staff at M Cafe were attentive and polite, ensuring that my dining experience was comfortable. The restaurants interior was also pleasant, contributing to a cozy atmosphere. In conclusion, my visit to M Cafe left me with mixed feelings. While the ambiance and service were decent, the high prices and average flavors of the food make it difficult for me to wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to others seeking an authentic taste of Hong Kong cuisine. Vegetarian options: Soups Kid-friendliness: Kids table
This is the only restaurant I ve been to that doesn t provide any shakers. I wouldn t have asked for them if the food were tasty. Service was lousy. You would feel ignored. The manager was aloof and refused to apologize for their mistakes. He had a take it or leave it attitude! Thank God this is not the only restaurant in Coquitlam.
Decent Hong Kong style cafe Great tasty food and big portion Comfortable sitting and staff are nice and accommodating Each party were given their own QR code so easy to split the bill If order online will get 10% off and they don t press for tips even we have party of 15 we can tip as much ( or little ) as we wish Plenty of free parking
Fun place with most extensive menu I ever seen in a restaurant if this price range. There are options to satisfy any taste and wallet from French toast and onion soup to Thai curry and Lobster. Breakfast is a must. Service is simple, as implied in the name Cafe. But seatings are comfortable and varied; booth and tables can accommodate couples and large groups. Kid-friendliness: Kid s menu
Nothing special, kind of over-priced and food quality is mediocre compared to its price.
Not bad lunch food but a bit greasy on the beef. Portions are large though.
Nice food with pleasant dining environment.
best food fr
Yummy food and lots to choose from. I ve been there a few times recently with my family and all dishes we tried were yummy. The quality and portions are very consistent and the drinks are on point. The prices and portions are reasonable. Will go again for sure if we re in the area again.
I went to this restaurant for the first time as a single person. I spent about $50. I had left my cigarretes at home. I kindly asked the server if anybody at the restaurant is a smoker I could buy a cigarrette off of. She pointed me to the owner. He disrespectfully told me he didnt have cigarretes. I later saw a full pack of cigarettes next to him on the counter. At the end I went to pay and the same guy was at the cash register. I only have one credit card and it is a MasterCard. He told me they dont take MasterCard. I did not have any other form of payment. They guy was in such a sketchy panic. I kept telling him to be calm and trust me, Im going to pay 100 percent. He gave me a sketchy website I could pay with MasterCard on. He was so panicky that honestly I felt its not safe for me to put my card number on that website. He had the vibe of a person with gambling debt. I finally decided to pay with overdraft on my debit. As I was leaving I politely asked him to let customers know if they dont accept ,astercard before they order. There is not a single place in all of lower mainland that doesnt take MasterCard that Ive ever seen. He tells me, I should be the one to tell the server I only have a MasterCard. Very rude, seemed racist, definitely has some gambling debt, looked like a daily casino type of guy. Too cheap to give a cigarrette, too panicky about the money. Horrible vibe. Restaurant itself was nice and food was good. Owner was disgusting person. He was also very condescending as if it is somehow my fault that I didnt have Visa. Dont give your business to these kind of people.
Poor Customer service. Ordered a lemon iced tea with no sugar by an app. Turned out to be with sugar. Requested to change. Boss insisted that my input was wrong. No exchange. What a good service! Funny was that the boss recognized that we had been his customers for long. Still keeping blame us for wrong input. And the boss offered you a replacement of iced tea if he forfeited your regular 10% discount. This would cost more than the price of Iced Tea. What a service !!!
Came here at 1230 for lunch, five tables worth of people standing around me. They immediately open up a new wing to accommodate five new group arrival on a weekday. This is a great sign of service. This place is quite clean, main hall already full. Waiter immediately put a small QR code printout to indicate each table number. My parents are senior and my dad forgot to bring his phone. We were able to get paper menu ordered w the waitress. Food was good and delivery was fast. We end up having curry and a fried pork chop over spaghetti. Portion is huge. I will come back again. Came back second time for dinner. Food is good. This is my third time coming back to this place. i changed my review from 4-5 because I think this place is unique and I don t think you can find any HK style cafe can beat this place with quality, service, value and taste. If I looked at all the HK style cafes I have been to in N. America, this is one of the best hidden in Coquitlam, BC.
Good food! Great selection! Parking: Plenty of free parking lots Kid-friendliness: Family and kids friendly
Terrible service. Especially cashier, who is supposedly the owner. Charged me 50 cents for a lid. I saw take out fee and I said that a mistake, no take out. And he points at my drink LID. This guy obviously needs every penny. This has never been charged before previously. So I donated him 50 cents. Food quality and portion going downhill
Service disorganized and needs to be better . The foods are good and the prices alright not to expensive.
I recently dined at this restaurant, and while the food was quite good, I was disappointed by the hygiene practices. The servers consistently used the same pair of blue latex gloves for serving food, cleaning tables, and even cleaning the floors. This raised concerns about their awareness of proper hygiene procedures, especially when it comes to using disposable gloves in a food premises. While the food quality was satisfactory, I hope the restaurant addresses these hygiene issues to ensure a safer dining experience in the future.
Food was okay, but very bad experience overall. The supervisor sat us down and didnt bring menu or tell us to order online by scanning QR code. We were just sitting there waiting patiently since we were being considerate. Almost all the other servers were unfriendly and unhelpful, worst restaurant experience ever, had to ask several times for plates, forks etc. Even they could see clearly how many people we had. Seemed like they were very disgusted when we asked for something. Dont recommend.
We used to love this place and an incident happened today changed our view. My daughter accidentally bumped into a waitress while she served the drink, unfortunately hot tea spilled onto her hand and we immediately felt sorry and came to ask if she needs help and apologize. She didn t give a damn by just walking away. We sat there for 20 mins without any service and a nice waitress came to help which she deserved that one star. Food was not bad and portion is good and we had no service afterwards like they just ignoring us. I even had to call few times to get a bill. That waitress did come back later but guess she s pissed or something that didn t bother to look at us so I don t know she want us to kneel down and beg for forgiveness?? Or she wants some $$ as compensation? I hope the tips would all go to the waitress who actually served us lol
The service staff is quite cold. Ive been there many times and never seen a smiling face. It seems like I owe him a lot of money. Every time I leave a tip, I dont miss him. There are many people and it is not quiet. Master card payment is not accepted Parking: In business districts, there are usually parking spaces
This is what we got for our dinner ($75): 1, spanish seafood paella: Ketchup mix w white rice, imitation crab, and some super super super super salty shrimp. 2, Mix seafood hot pot: Pure boiling water with some boiled cabbage and bean curd. (Plain like bottled water) and again with some crazy crazy salty shrimp. 3, Malaysian roti: yeah, this may the only one count as food. -- No meat at all just curry sauce. --- Service below average. Environment not bad. --- They dont accept Mastercard and they dont tell you in advance and also there is no sign. Yeah, your choice. But at least you need let people know in advance. The POS service fee not cheap now. Understandable. At least not cash only to catch CRAs attention.
A huge (and slightly overwhelming) selection of food. Got the BLT sandwich and the baked rice. Both were okay. Nothing fantastic but portions are huge and u really get your money s worth that way. Food also came out very fast
Great price!
There was a chicken at the end of the meal, and the attitude towards handling it was very poor.
They forgot 1/2 of our order. Lost appetite while dining after waiting so long. Service wasnt great either.
Good portion breakfast
Our family favorite HK restaurant in Coquitlam. Food is so good and friendly services. Highly recommend Clubhouse sandwich, spicy thai fried rice and milk tea here. Food
Not my cup of tea
Cant complain. Its a quality hk style cafe. Prices have gone up, but so has everyone else.
Authentic HK cafe. Food is pretty good but service is often lacking. The servers are nice but they are just too busy to give any actual service. For that reason I generally get take out instead of dining in. The baked dishes are a family favourite in our home.
The rib eye I order was cut halved horizontally in the middle, totally didn t understand why they did that. When I ask the server whether this is a Rib Eye or not, his response was terribly bad and didn t want to explain anything. When another server serve a boiling hot pot to the table, he just dropped the pot suddenly without reminding! The hot oil spilled to the corner of my eye. No one apologise to me officially. Unbelievable bad service standard in the city of Vancouver. Don t deserve any tips.
I have helped several times, but the attitude of the waiters in the restaurant is very bad. During the last visit, the restaurant obviously had a lot of seats, but the four of me waited at the door for about 5 minutes, but no one paid attention. Then a male minister took us to the square table in the middle of the restaurant, but there were two or three booths that were empty. Sit, I wanted to ask to sit in a reserved seat, but the male director refused. The reason was that all the reserved seats were booked. I asked him if he could have some lunch and asked for a book seat. He didnt know the answer, but he just couldnt speak. So I stopped talking and left, not wanting to help him in the future.
STAY AWAY I can see why at times I have heard this restaurant is about to go out of business. Our experience here has been nothing short of upsetting and frustrating. For validity purposes, you can tell based on my other reviews, that I provide fair and honest reviews. My recommendation: STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT. Size of party: Our friends arrived first. It was Sunday night around 6pm. Their family was 2 adults and one 4 year old. We arrived a bit late. 2 adults and one 13month old. Status of restaurant: Not busy. Not packed. Empty tables everywhere. When we arrived our friends were already seated. We had a booth. Our friends said that the waitress told them we had to use booster seats for both children because they ran out of of high chairs. I was a bit confused.. But ok.. I accepted this at first but was a bit confused. My wife decided to wash her hands at the bathroom before sitting down. She procerds to walk over the bathroom in close proximity and looks over at me and points. I walk over and boom, there are 3 high chairs stacked on top of each other. I ask politely to the waitress if we could get a high chair for our son because he is 13 months old and he doesnt sit still when eating. The waitress said sure and asked me what table. I pointed at the booth. At this moment another waitress walked over. She said whats the issue?. I was like no issue, we just want a high chair for my son whos 13 months old. The waitress said no, we cant do that and he has to sit in a booster seat. I responded hes 13 months and cant sit still when eating. He doesnt know how. She said thats not our problem with attitude. Now Im ticked off.. So i walk to the table.. No high chair because i dont want conflict. Waitress comes back and my wife sits down. I asked her politely whats the reason for not allowing high chair? She said that its a safety issue with hot food and servers walking back and forth. I gave her the benefit of the doubt but THEN see there is 5-6 feet of gap between where she claimed there is no room to walk by. I tried to compromise to ask if we can sit first. When the food comes, then we can put our son in the high chair. She said no, we cant do that. She said she will have to give us another table but we have to wait 30 minutes to 1hr. I asked if we could sit and wait and then when tables cleared and then we could move with the high chair. She again said no we cannot do that. Now both sets of parents are just pissed. Walked over to Sushi Town and asked if they can accommodate two children in high chairs. No problem. Walked back, took my family and went for some delicious sushi. Will NEVER NEVER return to this place. Its NOT kid friendly. I got no apologies, just a bunch of attitude and declines to help. Probably the worse customer service ever. If youre looking to be treated with disrespect & attitude, come here. Will bring my business somewhere else. Good luck and dont bring your kids to eat. They may have to sit in a booster when they are 6 months old. 0 stars. I will also be letting the large outreach of asian community I am connected to know about our experience and all my family not to visit here. Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly. Do NOT come here. Dont bring your kids. Tons of high chairs but dont use them. Expect to use a booster for your child that doesnt know any better. Horrible horrible customer service towards family with children.
Trash. Very bad service. Definitely not gonna go there again. The staffs attitude is very bad and rude. Since you dont want to do it, why not rework it and we wont help you anymore. Sorry to bother you.
If youre looking for Hong Kong Cafe in the tri-city area, this is it. Smells like hk streets and probably taste worse than it looks. Avoid this restaurant if you dont want to have a toilet night. Thisnplace has gone down a steep hill Revised review from before.
Great taste grill pork chop rice
It s a good restaurant and the cost is not too big
Its delicious , I like Everything. The spaghetti is amazing and all the food is really good..
Great hk cafe style food in the tri cities. They are a bit pricey but their portions arent small. Food is pretty tasty. Their Thai style chicken fried rice and baked pork chop rice are definite must-tries. Mind you, all their dishes are hk cafe influenced so dont think its supposed to taste authentic. Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options Parking: They have a big shared parking lot Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs
Very good price and large portions on their baked rice and double steak combos. Order using their app and get 10% discount. Our waitress was very courteous and attentive. Plenty of comfortable seating. Great overall experience.
Ordered hainanese chicken, wasnt very good. The chicken was kind of dry.
Great fried rice and HKG style iced tea. Laksa is not so good but sausage and chicken western dinner was great. The menu items will be called small but they re a decent portion of food. More than enough for a single person.
The service attitude was so bad that I took my children to the restaurant to eat. The child accidentally knocked over the noodles, and there was no service staff. I took some paper towels from the counter, about 5. At this time, the waiter chased me and said that I couldnt take so many paper towels, and took away the remaining paper towels. ? ! ? Dont understand what this does? ! A non-inclusive restaurant. Mothers with children should choose this restaurant carefully. I would rather go to Gao Bai Restaurant than M cafe next time!
Nice place.if you want to have a good taste of Hong kong style.
Keeps on getting orders wrong, and bad attitude to the guest. Do not come here never coming again!
One of the go-to places for quick meal
I loved it! I ordered the meal combo with soup, side dish, 2 types of steak and Hong Kong milk tea. Portion was generous. The lobster soup was so delicious and brought out the flavour of the lobster. Steaks were good. My first time trying Hong Kong milk tea but I loved it!! I will definitely come back to try more dishes!! Parking: A lot of parking
