Milaap Indian Kitchen has become our goto spot for Indain food in the Tri-Cities. We mostly do take out and found the food to be tasty, authentic and good portions. The food is aways ready on time for pickup and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!
Naan was not soft, butterica chicken was nothing special, honey garlic cauliflower was good. Service was fine, interior and atmosphere was horrendous. Price point wise, much better options for Indian dining elsewhere.
The sauce is delicious but I can definitely tell the chick is not fresh. I really want to like this place. I ordered butter chicken many times but the chicken*always* doesn't taste fresh. It tasted like they used frozen chicken or old chicken. Please make this place better!
I happened to be in the area, and was craving some thing Indian. Found this place nearby and we chose to dine in. The service was super quick and kind, even though we were pretty close to last call on a weekday. The interiors are cute & cozy, felt like I was sitting comfortably at home. The food was also great! We licked our plates clean!! I would totally come back. We ordered: - Daal makhani - malai kofta - paneer tikka The only thing I wouldn’t order again is the masala papad, it’s a simple dish and I feel like I’ve had it better and so worth a try here, but not worth ordering again. I could recommend using better quality papad (this tasted like the microwavable ones I buy) and adding cilantro on top! I can also suggest skipping the rasamalai and gajar ka halwa.
First time we tried this place from map search. We ordered Chicken vindaloo and Kadai Paneer and some fish and veggie sidedish. Everything was very tasty, and the curry had lots of stuff inside. Their galric naan was very savory. The service was amazing! Sunday mid afternoon, and most tables were full. Will come back with family.
Food is delicious and service is quick and good. Backgroud music volume could be a little lower. Nice a small but clean spot with a beautiful Indian style chandelier.
Cute and cozy Indian restaurant. I absolutely love their food! Their butter chicken is so mouth-watering good. Service was great and staff is extremely friendly. 10/10 recommend and will definitely be coming back for more :)
This is a small restaurant with about 4 tables. It wasn't too busy inside. They were able to put two tables together to accommodate our group of 5 adults and 4 kids. More customers were coming in for pick up. My favorite dish was the Palak Paneer. The flavor was so good! The honey garlic cauliflower was something different which was also very good. I preferred the Butter Chicken rather than the Butterica. The Butter Chicken had a lot more flavor and spice. My main dish was the Goat Curry. The goat was nice and tender but I found the sauce a little salty. The garlic naan was very fresh tasting and had good flavor. Overall, many of the dishes were good and the server was friendly and helpful with describing dishes. I would definitely come back to try more.
I tried kadahi paneer and lacha parantha. It was really amazing. Lacha parantha was made of whole wheat which was really good.
Had a craving for sweet so ordered just desserts which turned out horrible ! The gulab jamun was hard inside , the kulfi was a blob of flavoured ice and the gajar halwa was not fully cooked ! Not ordering again!
Really nice food and service..
Ordered take out tonight and really enjoyed the chicken Tika misala and chickpea cury. The Nann bread was also delicious!
Best food balram bali
Great food, friendly service and reasonable prices
Food is amazing
Very disappointing. We order curries and got large servings of sauce with very little meat in each one. Both were ordered mild however the vindalo was very spicey - too spicey to have been mild.
Indian food does not come much better than what we had. Highly recommended
Just tried the Non Veg Thali. It was really good and flavorful. I crave Indian food all the time but I am usually put off by having to order the curry, the rice and the naan all separately. So the Meals to go options are fantastic for one person. Edit, they got rid of the curry, rice and naan meal to go. Absolutely killed my desire to order here. That was what made this place great for me but its gone. I dont even understand why? It was a perfect lunch.
Best butter chicken their garlic naan is also amazing. The staff is super friendly Food : 5/5
Ordered Milaap via UberEats. I ordered the butter chicken, rice, garlic naan and two samosas. Let s start with the samosas..not great. I ve had a lot of samosas in my day, but unfortunately these are some of the worst. Tasted like unseasoned potatoes with a slight hint of masala..Very underwhelming. As for the butter chicken, it had a decent flavour. I ordered hot and the sauce had a good amount of kick. The taste itself was a bit lacking in the depth department, but still satisfied my craving. Some chicken pieces were a tad dry and it felt like the chicken wasn t overly seasoned. Again, I ordered via Uber, so the quality could be better if the food didn t have to travel. As for the rest of the food, I enjoyed the garlic naan and didn t have issues with the rice. If you do end up dining here, I would suggest eating at the establishment for a fresher experience.
Have been taking out food from this establishment. They a a few spicy and tasty dishes, such as Lamb Vindaloo. However, I was not impressed with the kebabs. Generally recommeded for Indian food.
Best Indian takeout I ve had. Would ve been 5 stars except part of the order was missing. We had pakoras, goat vindaloo, butter chicken and garlic naan it was all delicious and we ll definitely be ordering again.
Food was great! Will definitely visit again. Vegetarian options: Many options to choose from Food : 5/5 |
We usually go to this restaurant as their foods are fantastic, also Rahul s customer service is definitely outstanding. Cheers
They make one of the most authentic Tasting food. The food reminds me of Delhi. Really good portions and absolutely worth the price.
I ordered the Butterica Chicken with rice and its was the best Ive ever had. The service was great and very helpful. Ill definitely be coming buck here. Food
Have ordered multiple times from milaap, but their food quality is deteriorating day by day. I ordered veg korma today which has a piece of rubber in it. Very disappointed. Not gonna order henceforth.
Great service!!! Delicious food !! Hospitality is great...loved it
Excellent food & service. Mr Rahul always provided us great service Highly recommended Food : 5/5
Balraam bali is the best
Our neighbor recommended this place to us, and so far everything weve ordered is yummy. Every now and then I sit and think fondly about their palak paneer curry (spinach cheese) like one would an old friend, and heave a contented sigh. Will always order an extra large portion of that from now on!
We ordered take out the other day and were pleasantly surprised. The korma had the perfect heat level, Butter chicken was fresh and not to sweet. The naan bread was good as well as the Veg Pakora. We will definitely give it a second chance, I hope they remain consistent.
Incredibly kind people, go out of their way to show care, amazing and quick service, and delicious food - wonderful place and wouks come again!
If you try Authentic and Delicious Indian food, you should come here!
We ordered a butter chicken dish and 3 naans yesterday night. It was very delicious however, Im not sure why, but there was a very little amount of chicken in the dish and a whole lot of sauce. It was like only a half a small chicken breast that was cut up into very small pieces. Maybe the chef wasnt accurately portioning out the protein. My kids also said where is the meat ? It way too late to call the restaurant back, as it had closed. Will see next time if its the same . Other than that we still happy to eat from Milaap.
Everything was great! Delicious and good quality food. Humble staff.
Veggie karma, mango laso, tandoori chicken, butter chicken, garlic naan bread. All great taste. Chai masala was outstanding.. I will be back Parking: It is part of a plaza . Easy to park .
Got kadhi chawal take out was very tasty
I ate here with my husband and mother-in-law because we all share the same love for Indian food. The service was fast and we received everything almost immediately. We were not disappointed with the food as everything tasted amazing. I was honestly really happy. We could not enjoy it as much since we were rushing to get to the Abbotsford airport. Due to that, we accidentally left the take outs at the restaurant. I found out too late. I called in to confirm as I wanted to drive back and get it but sadly, although they were aware it was left behind, they still proceeded to throw it away. They did not want issues with flies. To be honest, I was quite disappointed as the lamb curry was untouched and there were many more left to eat. I worked in the field for years and this was an unusual thing to do. Most will set it aside for the timebeing before throwing it out. Had I not gone out of my way to clear the table, I would have remembered to grab it. I am hoping we can receive some type of credit for the coming time we drop by because I feel that was wasteful. I would have understood if there was barely anything left but that is not the case. Sigh. I hope the owner takes time to read this.
Best Indian food I have Taste in North America! Very tasty and good portions! Highly Recommend them!!!
What a lovely surprise, one of the best food experiences we ever had. Thank you! You will see us again Vegetarian options: From vegetables korma to Palak Paneer. Many veg options Dietary restrictions: Waiter understands their menu and what each dish contains
Excellent food with huge menu and dishes unlike other restaurants
Our go to for both dine in and take-out neighbourhood Indian food. Butterica Chicken, Goat Korma, Lamb Vindaloo are all amazing as are the many varieties of rice and naans. Try to get here as often as possible. Vegetarian options: Half the menu is vegetarian
Excellent food but preparation time on holidays or on special occasions like mothers day are painfully long. But do try the food on other days it is excellent! Food
The food served was original and healthy, colour free, the thing that I liked about this place the most. Vegetarian options: Since its an Indian cuisine restaurant, it has a lot of vegetarian options
tasty but a little bit strong taste for me.
Good food, Not oily at all, Highly recommended
I generally find it hard to have good authentic Indian in tricities this one is the exception. And they offer thali plate for for lunch which is the best news for single eaters.
being a 38 year old very white man who lives alone with 3 cats, everything on the menu was super duper spicy and my mouth still hurts to this day
Great curry, good service, nice chai.
Amazing food
I bought vege pakoras & cauliflower pakoras last week and I must say Im not impressed at all with the flavor. Ive tasted much better than these ones!!
Small but comfortable restaurant. The food was great and decently priced (the naan was soft but crispy on the bottom :)). Maybe because I was the only customer, but getting the attention of the waiter was a little difficult. Overall 4/5, would definitely come back again :)))))).
Cant try the Korma or Butter Chicken we ordered as we are waiting for our rice to cook. There was no mention that the dishes do not come with rice so having to wait for our own rice to cook after the food has been delivered is a huge disappointment.
One of the best Indian restaurants in the tri-cities. Tasty food with excellent service.
We ordered Gobi paratha and Chole bhature....excellent! The waitress was very receptive and giving as well.....she knows how to make customers happy.
Authentic flavourful food that didn t leave me feeling bloated or heavy. Love Indian food and this has to be one of the better spots I ve tried in a very long time - portions are a bit small but I highly recommend. 4.5 / 5 Vegetarian options: Amazing
Probably the best Indian food in Coquitlam and tri cities area. I couldn t take pictures because the food was too good that I just downed it all. The premium butter chicken was a favourite among take home dinner. Will return! Food : 5/5
This place is very quaint and nice service was and probably always will be great Kid-friendliness: Very very reliable and awesome kid friendliness!
Hay guys just want to say, I went there last week, honestly never saw that kind of service by employees and honour. Balram Balli the best chef, served delicious food for me and my family . Highly recommended. One time please go there and check there food and services
This place is awesome! The portion is big and the price is lower than any other Indian around Food
My favourite Indian food restaurant in the region. Beautiful flavours! Vegetarian options: I love the eggplant dish! Food : 5/5 |
Great food Love this place
Authentic Indian flavour
Kept up milap
Very yummy in taste...
Awesome place, food was superb! Worth visit
The best restaurant in Coquitlam. Balram Bali has such a great culinary skills. Must visit this place.
Great food
best food in surrey best service by balram balli Food : 5/5
Best food in the town brilliant chief balram balli
I ordered a large order for takeout at dinner time. The waiter was friendly and was happy to answer my questions and follow up with the chef on which menu items were gluten free and dairy free. There were a large number of different items that are gluten free that I could choose from. The food itself was packaged well and with care. All the dishes tasted fresh, were packed full of flavour and seemed cooked with a lot of attention and detail. The Butterica Chicken was a stand-out dish and absolutely delicious. My new go-to Indian restaurant in the Tri-Cities. Highly recommend! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and Dairy free options
Very flavourful dishes, extremely well made food. Right about of spice and heat to keep you satisfied. Excellent service and friendly staff.
I ordered food. It was absolutely rubbish. The food was stale and so tasteless.
Best Indian restaurant in tri cities area!! Great service and quality. Thank you to milaap for welcoming environment and great experience. Vegetarian options: Definitely Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian Parking: Tonnes of parking Kid-friendliness: Very nice Wheelchair accessibility: No problems
Best Indian food Ive had in a long time. Generous portion sizes with great quality.
So good portions are big and comes steaming hot! Better then spice art and Bombay place by far
Oooh - very bad. We ordered a chicken korma, vegetable vindaloo and plain Naan. Chicken korma was OK. Naan was not at all fresh and wow, wow, the vegetable vindaloo was so terrible. It was like, fluorescent orange in colour, the sauce had zero taste and the vegetables were nothing more than mixed frozen veg. It was like nothing I had ever seen ever before. I cook Indian food all the time, like at least 5 times a week as my son loves it. I get all authentic spices (MDH brand etc) - I have a pantry stocked with the right spices for every dish. I know what is good/bad/authentic. This was just an atrocity and an insult to Indian cuisine. I am really appalled.
We had Aloo Tikki with Mango Lassi which hit the spot with perfect blend of sweet and tangy flavor to it. The Chicken Biryani came with Raita and it was delicious. Lamb vandaloo was bit spicy for Medium spice. Overall it was a great ride on a roller coaster of flavors. Definitely the best Indian restaurant in Coquitlam Vegetarian options: Aloo tikki
Loved the food! we had butter chicken and chicken vindaloo along with tandoori roti and garlic nan. Food taste was perfect. Up to the mark. Service was great too!! Will surely visit again..
Since their recent opening, we ve always been impressed with the freshness , diversity and personal service the give we re fortunate we live very close as well.
Great Indian Food like home !
Good food.
Ordered takeout. Butterica chicken was rich and perfectly medium spiced. Veggie korma was equally delicious. Naan was ok. Not very fluffy but it was takeout so what can you expect. I m stuffed and have plenty of leftovers. Can t wait to try other menu items.
I went to dine in with my family. I had a great experience. All the food items were so delicious. We tried and liked some new items. The customer service was great . While we were eating, there were a lot of skip the dishes, door dash and Uber eats pick ups. The service was so quick . None of the pick up person had to wait for their order. The staff was so friendly and experienced .
Good value - got the thali and the plate size was better than usual, very good value for your $ and taste great!
Undoubtedly this is the best indian restaurant in Coquitlam. I ordered veg thali with Aloo Gobi. The taste and quality both are amazing. They have tawa roti as well. In my opinion the restaurant should provide 2 tawa rotis instead of 1 Naan in the price I paid. That is much healthier than Naan. The reason why tawa roti cost more here is because no other restaurant make home style tawa rotis made fully with wheat.
Ordered butter chicken, chicken korma, palak paneer and garlic naan. The butter chicken was too spicy and we ordered medium. The chicken was tasting old and food was not fresh at all, the sauce was watery and tasting like tomato paste. The chicken in chicken korma tasted old and like it was made 5 days before and not tasting good at all. Chicken kormas sauce was tasting bland and it was watery. The palak paneer was poorly made and was tasting old as well. The garlic naan has bad texture and very poorly made and not fresh at all. I feel like they definitely used left over from a few days ago or they just make for for a week and then use it during the week. Its sad to pay lots of money for something that bad.
Butter chicken is awesome and authentic, and I eat way too many naans
I never ever write reviews but this place deserves one heck of a review!! They make the most amazing Indian food Ive ever had in my entire 26 years on earth. 10/10!!!!
Absolutely delicious food! Our favorite Indian food place! Our favorite appetizer is their paneer pakora, so yummy! Weve done both takeout and dine-in, no difference in quality.
It was delicious ! Highly recommend 10/10
I ordered chicken briyani for take out, they have filled a big container with just rice I mean if it says chicken briyani, you supposed to find only 4-5 chunks in 300 gms of rice? Not reasonable at all. And yes if you running out of chicken, you can just dismiss the order especially when they order through a call. However their pranthas, and some vegetarian dishes are good.
Excellent food, I had them make me some custom vegan food and the taste and quality was amazing. Thanks! Vegetarian options: They will make it to your liking.
Very good quality for samosas
I have ordered different food items from here before many times which were really nice but the veg Biryani I ordered today was really bad tasting and probably not freshly made. I m really disappointed.
The food was excellent. Tasted fresh, nice presentation. I find a lot of restaurants serve very large chunks of chicken that are difficult to eat, but this restaurant had nice bite sized pieces of chicken in their dishes.
Tried this place for the first time tonight. Everyone loved it! Good sized portions for the $. I would absolutely try them again Update: Tried them again tonight (May 27th, 2023) OMG. So incredibly good. The daal makhani and aloo gobi are SO good- nice and spicy. Naan is also solid! I am not even done my meal and already giving a second review!
Great little family run spot. Definitely some of the best Vindaloo I ve ever had. I will be coming back for sure
Stopped in for a quick dinner on the way out of town and hot damn it was delicious. Everything perfect will definitely be back!
Every time we have ordered it has been a great experience from servoce to food Excellent! Food
Great food, polite server, quick service. Loved the tava roti. On a hot day, would recommend takeout over dine in. Vegetarian options: Have a wide range of vegetarian options, we had tava roti, alu paratha and veg Manchurian
Great food but there was some french fries embedded in my Pakoras... I dont think thats supposed to happen... Vegetarian options: The manchurian is amazing
Its a small restaurant but the staff are friendly, the prices are reasonable and the food was delicious. No complaints, will absolutely come back.
Cozy and convenient Indian restaurant. Ordered mango Lassi, rajma and kadi chawal and Pulao. Prices were decent, service was prompt and good. Taste was also good. Pulao could have bit more flavor. Overall good experience.
There is something in this restaurant, that is definitely a game changer, a must try,, which is the cauliflower - you will thank me after. Your welcome !! Everything else was amazing easily overlooked as a hole in the wall,, but in my opinion best Indian restaurant in the Tri-Cities ,, better value, better taste better yummy yum-yums
Very inconsistent food quality. Sometimes its very good but the other times its stale and causes acidity. Like today, the food was clearly from the day(s) before. The dal was revamped with cream and extra tadka, so was chhola. I called specially to tell them to take extra time to prepare but send fresh food. But they didnt, and now its s causing acidity to everyone at home.
Had a chicken biriyani. They just gave Me chicken curry with rice . I ordered chicken biriyani , not the chicken curry and rice separately . You guys just mixed both and gave it . I got utensils . I m not saying anything about utensils Food
Amazing food thats bursting with flavor. Generous portions. Our kids found the food a bit spicy even at mild and they apologized and gave us 2 free mango Lassi. Outstanding customer service.
Food is really delicious, would love to visit again
I ordered twice for naan, garlic naan and palak paneer. In both cases the quality of food was top notch! The time they took to prepare the order was way within what was promised. Definitely going back!
One if the best Indian cuisine in Coquitlam. We ordered a Butter Chicken curry with butter naan and a lamb Biriyani. Butter Chicken was fantastic!
First time at this restaurant. Ordered honey garlic cauliflower, mouth watering. Awesome
What a fresh food experience I just had , above the expectations and food is really fulfilling. Will reorder or recommend. Food was definitely awesome!! I Ended up overeating . Keep the freshness and taste constant, you guys will definitely rock
I never knew this lovely Indian restaurant existed until I came across it by looking at the Uber website. This place is in the Eagle Ridge Plaza right next to Life Labs; it easy to miss otherwise. I decided to try my luck and order online for a takeout on their website. Everything was secure on there and I felt OK inputting my personal details and credit card info. I ordered 2 tandoori dishes and naan. It took only about 25 - 30 minutes for my order to be ready for pick-up. When I came the lady that helped me in the restaurant greeted me nicely and I said I placed an order online. I was delighted to see how well my takeout was packaged and in a very nice paper Milap Indian Kitchen bag. I got home and the food was still nice and warm. My tandoori meals were absolutely delicious and I totally enjoyed my meal. There appeared to be only 2 tables in their small restaurant, but I would love to dine here in person knowing how mouth watering their tandoori meals were. I can only imagine how good the rest of their food is. So glad to find out there is finally a good Indian restaurant in the Tri-Cities. My tandoori meal portions were very big too and this made me even more happy. Thumbs up for sure!
This place never disappoints. Its a hidden gem.
The food was so fresh and hot, serving portion was large and the price point was great.
Amazing flavours. Chicken tikka masala was so good.
Wow!!! It was like 9:30ish in the night when i got to know about this place on their first day of opening. I was checking the menu (but i already had my dinner) i found mouth watering dishes and out of nowhere i called the place and ordered one fish finger just to try. Believe me i had to go Surrey to get these kind of food items. Honestly loved the very first thing i tried(Yummy). Definitely will go back to try other food options
OMG the butterica chicken is DELICIOUS!!! you can taste the fresh ingredients. We will definitely be ordering again. They gave us a sample of the regular butter chicken but the butterica is WAY better. The staff seems really nice! We will be ordering again soon
Food was really good! Everything we ordered was great. Palak paneer, Malai Mattar, butterica chicken, chicken curry, chicken chat, aloo tikii, naan, raita, salad, achaar, goat, chicken saag, paneer tikka, All great!
My wife and I had lunch at Milaap Indian Kitchen the second they were open. Very impressed with the dishes we ordered: 1/2 order of the vegatable starter plate, Vegtable Korma; Vegetable Vindaloo, garlic naan and fluffy basmati...all very yummy! Excited to go back or get take out on Fridays or weekends. Welcome to the neighborhood Milaap Indian Kitchen!
New restaurant in my neighborhood, ordered take out on Holiday Monday. They were still doing a tiny bit of construction, but that didn t hamper their kitchen at all. Food was outstanding. The chicken vindaloo was just the right amount of spicy. Would recommend and will be back!!
Best Indian food Ive ever had.
Food is good. Service could be better. We walked in at 530pm and ordered 5 dishes. We were the only customer in the restaurant. It took 40 mins for 2 dishes and another 45 mins for the rest. I saw too many people walkin, wait for 20 minutes or so and walkout unattended. The staff is unable to handle the number of customers and were visibly stressed trying to cater to walk-in, online and phone customers. Oh, and please disable the blinding security light on the cameras, it lights up everytime someone moves.
Me and my family ordered appetizers and dinner for take out. Though the wait timing were 30 minutes (as per owner) because of the new opening, but it was REALLY WELL WORTH IT. Love the food with authentic and fusion flavor( combination of both). We will definitely be returning..
Delicious food! A myriad of flavours in each bite.
Ordered Shahi paneer, Tandoori Nans and Dal . Everything was so good! Highly recommended place to get Indian food in Coquitlam!
Im so happy this place opened up! Its closer than the other Indian places in Poco and tastes amazing. This is my first time ordering so we got the standard: butter chicken, palak paneer, lamb korma, pakoras and naan. Normal pricing, great portions. I cant wait to try their more interesting menu items. My new go-to.
We ordered the famous Butterica Chicken with naan & it was amazing! Hubby loved the chicken fried rice too. Will definitely be back!
You need to try this restaurant! The Palak paneer was amazing, you should for sure try it - and everything we tried was incredible. Pretty good value - get lots and enjoy the leftovers.
Milaap Indian Kitchen has a talented chef and serves absolutely delicious food! My family and I were very impressed with the variety of dishes on the menu and as a vegetarian I was pleasantly surprised by the number of options available to me. I chose the spicy vegetable vindaloo and it was outstanding - hot and spicy with rich, tangy, flavours. The naan and pakora were crunchy and so tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant and we cant wait to come back!
I got to try this restaurant after hearing a lot of good things! Mannish and the staff are very wonderful, and their customer service is spot on. The food is very delicious and definitely worth a re-visit over and over. They have a variety of Indian cuisine, very impressive.
Wow! Just wow! Let me be as Frank as I can. Everyone should drop what theyre doing and go to this place if you like Indian cuisine. My tastebuds are used to Indian food and I was going to be critical of the hype and the quality. I tried the trademark Butterica because it sounded amazing. The owners were kind enough to provide a sample of a regular Butter Chicken for comparison. We also tried their naan and the shahi paneer. The Butterica is worthy of being trademarked, boy oh boy. It is the best version of a butter chicken Ive ever had. Ive had a lot of butter chicken. The flavors are rich, the gravy is thick, and it has generous amount of pieces of marinated chicken tikka mixed in the gravy. I believe this is made with a cashew sauce, you can see chunks of cashew in it and you taste the freshness of roasted tomatoes. Gone are the days of the rubbery flavorless chicken breast and the annoyingly sweet tomato sauce. Compared to their regular butter chicken, it was no competition. Their regular butter chicken also includes chicken tikka in the gravy, however, you can taste that aforementioned sweetness that Im not the biggest fan of. In isolation, the regular butter chicken is good, but the side by side comparison makes it a no contest in favor of the Butterica. For the Veg lovers, the shahi paneer is freaking good! It has a distinct flavor, doesnt taste like generic butter gravy. It was rich in flavor and you can taste subtle spices and ginger. It is some of the best Ive had. Their naan was good, comparable to most other establishments. It is the perfect vehicle to sop up the wonderful gravy. Hopefully more people will try this place and decide for themselves. Personally, I no longer need to go to Surrey for amazing Indian food.
Highly disappointed!! Followed google reviews and claims in tri-city news for best butter chicken in town & tried their TM butterica chicken & malai kofta. They clearly don t know what butter chicken or malai kofta tastes like. For the price paid it feels like a ripoff. We literally had to throw it away & order pizza delivery instead. Wouldn t have it again even if it s offered for free. By far the worst Indian food I have had in lower mainland so far!!! Period. (Can t post without giving a star but consider it to be none from my side).
Milaap Indian Kitchen has great variety and delicious food! Heard a lot about this restaurant and as expected the food was amazing and great customer service experience. Everyone needs to try this restaurant!
Definitely not a restaurant for an Indian customer. We ordered chicken biryani. Specified to make it extra spicy and it had absolutely no flavour. It felt like plain rice with chicken pieces, cannot be called biryani at all. We tried the butterica chicken and it was ok. We were really excited to try this new place and ordered through Uber but it was a disappointment.
Poor food. Cant believe after reading articles on many social media publications food can be so low grade. Butter chicken was tomato puree only, daal makhni did not seem like had black daal in it (it was some mix daal) and kardhai paneer was tasteless (no kharda masalas). Never ordering from this place. This is just another cheap quality indian restaurant in Canada.
This is a really special kind of ridiculousness but when one orders a butter chicken dish one expects it to come with RICE. No mention anywhere or from the staff. Also, the lids on our orders were not secured. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Unreal food! Probably the best Indian food in the tricities. Malai Kofta was amazing, would get it again.
Absolutely delicious! We ate in for dinner and the portions were generous for a great price (1 order of rice for 3 people!). Good service too. Cant wait to try take out!
Wow, that was very good. Highly recommend giving them a try!!
Did a take out from Milaap after hearing reviews from people in the community. Butterica lived up to the expectation and the veggie platter was a great option for us because we wanted to try many different appies. Will definitely come back in the future.
Excellent tasty food
This restaurant was highly recommended in the tricities food group I am a part of on FB so I decided to try it last night and it did not disappoint. I ordered the butterica chicken and lamb curry and both were delicious. My 5 year old was asking for more. We also got some regular naan bread on the side which is a must to dip into all that extra yummy sauce. This will definitely be a regular go-to for me now.
We heard a lot of incredible things about Milaap, especially the butterica, and it DEFINITELY lived up to the hype. The sauce was flavourful and rich, the chicken was the perfect texture and everything tasted so fresh. Now were just patiently waiting for Milaap to release a cookbook!
This resturant known for quality food. Thanks for taste food
Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating
Food were freshly cooked, not greasy. Very tasty! Vegetarian options: They have a wide variety of veggies entrees. Parking: Lots of parking.
Ordered chicken tikka masala, lamb curry and saag. All absolutely fantastic with wonderful depth of flavours, probably the best I ve had in and around Vancouver. Very glad to have this great Indian restaurant in the neighbourhood now.
One of the worst Indian food. We ordered samosas , chaat and vegetable vindaloo and each one was worse than the other. The veg vindaloo tasted like that of a dipped tomato sauce curry with no flavours. The chaat portion was that of a curry and no taste of a chaat. The samosa filling was worst I ever had in my life. Totally bland and tasteless. I wonder who is rating so high of the food.
I picked this restaurant based on the great reviews it has so far. Its a small establishment; very clean. Friendly staff eager to please. We are vegetarian and so we ordered the paneer appetizer, chana masala, aloo gobi and pulau rice. All were excellent and flavourful and more than enough for two people to share. We took half of each dish home as there was too much to eat. All in all a great new place that i encourage you to try.
I visited there yesterday. The food and service was great. Moreover the staff, especially the girl at the front desk(manpreet) was very welcoming. She took our order very patiently and talk to us in a very nice way. The chef is awesome every dish we ordered were delicious.
It was very good food and friendly staff. Will go there again.
Food is good, courteous staff!! It s a small place , not fine dine .
New spot, Im VERY pleased with the quality/taste/consistency. Please dont change a thing, dont let it go downhill by sacrificing the basics. Good stuff!
Fantastic Indian food. I shall highly recommend this place. Food was delicious and the staff was also very friendly.
***EDIT Nov 2022: Thank you Milaap for changing to a sturdier takeout container. We did takeout today and was happy they have changed all takeout containers. Absolutely no spillage. I am really surprised by some of the lower reviews as we found their curries quite tasty. To address some issues: 1) Of course rice is not included with the curry...it s not food court Indian food. Most Indian restaurants such as the Bombay Sweets do not include free rice. To address this issue, they should include an extra option directly under each curry on skip the dishes. also they should always ask if you want rice or nan bread at the counter. 2) curries were flavorful and of course not as authentic as eating curry in India, but we found it quite delicious with generous protein. Our now favorite Indian restaurant in the tri cities. 1-star off because: the lids on the takeout are super flimsy, & pop open too easily..one of them was leaking despite being super careful. We also felt their garlic naan bread was too hard/dry but garlic flavor was good. There was 1-2 small bones in their beef vindaloo, so make sure to check before serving seniors/young children. Overall, will return again!
Best Indian restaurant Authentic food, amazing value, and you actually get huge portions and even tons of meat in the meat curries. Please don t change this. Butterica, eggplant curry and the samosas are some of highlights We re obsessed!
Nice little cozy place. They seem to really care about the food, food preparation was excellent. What I liked is that it was unique indian food. Honey Garlic Cauliflower was great almost indo-sino fusion. Butterica was delicious and in-between butter sauce and a Korma. Paneer Purjee was creamy and satisfying. My only complaint was the medium. heat egg plant Bhartha was too hot even for a spice lover like me. Portions were huge. Four dishes was enough food for six people. Parking: lots of parking
Food was good. Medium was hot (spicy). Appys, entrees and breads were excellent. Portion sizes were good.I would stay away from the Papri and Aloo Tikki Chaats. A total flop. They need to work on these.
Tried this place for the first time and loved their food ! Curries were flavourful and delicious, potato bread freshly made and one of the best Ive had in Vancouver. Prompt service. Will be definitely back!
I can t wait to go back! We had a fantastic meal - food and service were great. We dined in restaurant and ordered Parkoras, Butterica Chicken, Chana Chaat and Parantha for two people. I d definitely order ALL of it again.
Cozy family restaurant. Everything looks yummy as long as you like Indian food. Also sunice service
Ordered online scheduled my pick up time and still had to wait 40 min extra. Horrible, too many skip the dish and different delivery guys coming in and out flooding the system. Food is amazing though, really good.
Very good Indian food option in Coquitlam. The food is very good, and the prices are reasonable. All made fresh.
I ve tried a couple of items at the restaurant. The Dahl makhani is amazing and so is the chutney for the pakoras. My biggest issue was the dish that this restaurant advertises and prides itself on - Buterrica Chicken. Probably the least flavourful butter chicken I ve tried in my life and trust me, I ve tried many and make it at home myself from scratch. Maybe it was on off day for the chef but it was bland, the chicken tasted old, and the sauce to chicken ratio was terrible. Way too much chicken for the amount of sauce which then led me to believe yet again they may have wanted to get rid of the chicken if it was already a day old. Btw - I ordered at lunchtime (a half hr after the restaurant opened) so was expecting everything super fresh. Don t discount this place, everything else I got was great but I wouldn t bet on the the best butter chicken called butterica). I ll try the regular butter chicken and see what I think about that.
My new go to Indian restaurant. Outstanding food at a fair price. Highly recommended
