Food was good and the server was friendly. I had the pizza and the burrata-- both were good and reasonably priced. I gave the food 4 because while the taste was good, the dough near the center of the pizza was so thin, the toppings kind of tore through it. Perhaps my toppings had too much moisture(?) but either way, I wish the middle had not torn.

Doppio Zero Pizza truly lives up to its name when it comes to their pizza! The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, with just the right amount of chew, and the toppings were fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. As for the pasta, it was just okay. While it wasn’t bad by any means, it didn’t quite stand out the way their pizza did. It could use a little more flair to match the high standard set by their pizzas. I also didn’t like how the pasta noodle was too over done? 😬 The tiramisu was delicious as well. One thing to have in mind as well is the parking.. if you go during a busy time.. you might need to park in the residential area up the street and walk.. Overall, Doppio Zero Pizza is a must-visit if you’re craving top-tier pizza. I’ll definitely be back for another round of their incredible pies!

Hands down best Pizza in tri-cities. Love this place and such great Atmosphere! I ordered the Margarita and this pizza was made to perfection. The staff had such a welcoming vibe as soon as I came through the door. I met the owners Giulia and Daniel who are outstanding people that clearly have put there all into this restaurant. There story moving here from Italy is the icing on the cake. If you want truly authentic Italian food come to Doppio Zero! Thank you so much for the great service and amazing food! I will be coming here a lot more! Conor Finding

One of the best Neapolitan pizzas in coquitlam with Wood fired oven that I’ve tasted, if not the best. Dough is sourdough meaning healthy as well. Dough also was excellent, chewy yet perfectly baked. Place was great and cozy. Pizza taste was unique Considering the quality, price is fair as well. Open kitchen well depicts their cleanness and pizza craftsmanship. This is my new go-to.🍕

Love this place ! Stone oven pizza so delicious the crust is thin, chewy and crispy Love the carbonara too the pork is very special hefty meat taste , fatty but not too fatty Coffee was creamy and rich with dreamy aroma affogato - rich and robust flavor with a pronounced coffee taste. Servers are very friendly and attentive Free parking lot We went on Sunday evening around 8 pm the parking lot was pretty empty We have party of 13 and when we pay server told us we don’t need to tip extra as for party over 8 they will automatically add 20% on top for gratuities

★★★

A tad overpriced for what they give you. Pizza is great and gnocchi is amazing. Tried a few dishes and pasta was decent but not incredible for price. Desserts were underwhelming with canned whipped cream on the sides. Was disappointed that they charge an automatic 20% gratuity charge for groups or 8 or more.

Zero stars for Doppio Zero. Ordered 2 pieces of lasagna, 2 Italian limoncello cheesecakes and one penne. No napkins or cutlery included. Tiny portions. Lasagna was awful - salty, burnt ground beef, cheap ingredients and the tiny piece was $25 before tax. The cheesecake lacked flavour. We felt gross afterwards and its a shame because wed heard great things about this place being authentic. Perhaps we ordered the wrong things, though my attempts at lasagna have tasted better - and I am a horrible cook.

Manager started to gas light us saying they make the food after you finish your appetizer but we finished 40 minutes before and all tables after us got there food including appetizers got our diet cokes 20 minutes in as well

Had a great time with friends - the servers were very kind and accommodating and the food was also top notch. I had the margherita DOP pizza which comes with extra buffalo cheese. I recommend that you go with this over the normal margherita because I think that the extra cost with well worth it. I would definitely come back here for pasta!

I was in charge of choosing a restaurant and making a reservation to celebrate my sister who would be getting proposed to by her boyfriend. I decided to give a smaller local business a try instead of choosing a bigger franchise chain. They called me a few days before to take my credit card to hold the reservation which is fine, but on the phone they mentioned larger parties would be an automatic 20% gratuity. I just realized now on the confirmation email that it only mentions 18% not 20%, yet they charged us 20%. So idk if they are consistent with what their gratuity policy even is. They also told me on the email they would make it special for us, since it was an engagement celebration. When we got there, none of the servers congratulated the couple nor did they do anything that made it extra special for them. We even brought a cake but didnt end up eating it there because the server told us there was a $30 cake fee. Which I thought was ridiculous. The food was good but the experience was mediocre. Made me regret choosing a smaller business for the celebration, as we left feeling like it was just a regular get together lunch and nothing special.

Remember the first hot person that walked up to you and hit on you? You were just a bag of nerves, giggling, and awkward sentences just waiting to pour out of you. Water? Do you drink water? Yeah, Casanova...real smooth... This place is the hot person, and you are you. Its an ethereal realm of beautifully made food that just hits all of your deepest desires of what you want Italian food to be, what you hoped . Its the culmination of the centuries of food, culture, and beautiful mayhem that Italian cuisine embodies. We had an antipasto starter of the crudo platter, which had generous portions of prosciutto, parma, capicollo, olives, and from what I was told, their own in-house-made mozzarella. If I died at that point, I would have died happy. Next was the caeser salad, worthy of the Great Cardini himself. Fresh, crispy, anchovy and parmeggiano funky...its what I imagine salad at the Coliseum would be like if I brought this salad with me and ate it at the top of the Coliseum. Delicious, delicious, delicious. Next my mind gets hazy as the dopamine, serotonin and a host of other feel good chemicals in my brain hit levels unseen before. There was a pasta...fusili? People were laughing...was I with them? A glass of wine is shoved in my hand and a spoonful of this Bolognese caressed the flavour centres of my mouth the way a mother caresses her childs face to console them. Shhh, my little one, it will be alright.. and it was. Oh, a piece of advice, if you dont eat something because it has visible oil, I feel bad for your joyless life. If youre having sauce problems, I feel bad for you, son. I got 99 problems, and this pasta aint one. The rest of the meal was a blur. Pizzas...two of...them...potato...pancetta...arugula...olives...it all hit me so fast that I didnt have a chance to get the licence plate of that truck. Oh, and the crust. This is how I want to be my funeral to be: Viking style, on a boat made of this crust and floating down a river of that Bolognese. You can shoot a flaming cannoli at it to set it ablaze. Aside from all this magic, they also have chinotto! Its Brio (my second choice), but you cant expect your dream hot person to be perfect. After all they still are only human. Nessuno sta mangiando meglio di noi stasera. We did, my friends, we did... P.S. oh and get the calamari fritti. If I come back to this Earth as a squid, this is the way I would want to go...

Went to Doppio on a Sunday night with the family. The place was relatively busy. They asked if I had a reservation but I did not. There were still tables available and they showed us to a table shortly. Strengths: The waitress were friendly and attentive. They made sure the kids and us were alright. The food was all pretty decent. My wife loved the toppings on the pizza. The calamari was light crispy. Weakness: The pasta portion was a tad small. Pizza crust was soggy. I would go back again with the family.

Ive been here a handful of times now. I absolutely love it here. The food is DELICIOUS. Plus the helping of the dishes are quite generous even though its pricy so it is very filling. It is a small restaurant so it can quite intimate with whoever youre there with. But its a clean and very beautifully decorated restaurant. A cute small patio as well for the summer time. Italian food is one of my favourite cuisines. However, I am dairy free and it s very rare to find an Italian restaurant specifically that ll provide dairy free and/or vegan options. Lucky for me, this restaurant had the option of providing dairy free cheese on any of their pizzas (at an additional cost). Plus I saw that they had one vegan option on their menu which was great so I could still enjoy the food. While they have vast menu, they didn t have alot of options with just beef on its own and we didn t see any chicken options. Lots of pork options and beef/pork combinations; but they did have some vegetarian and fish options as well. I would recommend making a reservation though because they can get very busy since it is a small restaurant. Ive been here on Friday/saturday/sunday evenings and luckily we made a reservation each time because it was full. Unfortunately the parking isnt a very big lot either so do be mindful of that if you are driving in especially during the day time because they are sharing the parking space with 3 other businesses. Luckily it is transit accessible as well if you dont want to drive here.

September 22, 2024

Food was regrettable. Ceasar salad was forgettable. Carbonara guancuale was undercooked, bolognese is just not that good, and the Frutti di Mare was bland. It s priced like a higher quality restaurant, but isn t anywhere near that level. Save your money, not remotely worth it.

Brought kids here last weekend. The pizza and spaghetti were ok, but everything good atmosphere was ruined when i saw the POS, the default tip was 23%! then 20%,18% and others which you had to press very tiny up/down button to select and input if you want to give regular 15%, AND the lady just stood next to me and stared. oh my gosh, who should be embarrassed? 2 pizzas and 1 spaghetti charged $82. Never come back.

The staff is quite friendly, they are a little late with the service, but if you are patient they will do it. Try the tiramisu which is homemade, fresh and delicious... they have varied choices on the menu and drinks. Theres an atmosphere, but theres not much space. In any case, both the pizza and the bruschetta with a good Aperol are really good, guys!!!! Try it

Reserved a table for 10 for a birthday. They required that you put down a credit card to make the reservation. We made it to the restaurant and were seated. The atmosphere is great and layout was nice. We ordered the food that included Caesar salads, various pastas (ravioli, fruitti de mare, carbonara, and the penne), and pizzas. The ingredients were fresh and amazing, but the food was nearly to the point of being inedible as the cook seems to have a very heavy hand with the salt. I tend to like my food on the saltier side but this was over the top. Service was ok, but just the saltiness of all the pastas and pizzas made it difficult to enjoy the food. The one saving grace of the meal was the amazing Caesar salad and bread. If it wasn t for the saltiness of the food this place would definitely be at the top of my list for Italian.

The pizza margherita was very delicious. It as close as you re going to get to Napoli s without being in Napoli. The appetizers were delicious and I also got the Aperl Spritz. Ordered prosciutto pear pizza. Ingredients were good and tasty, but the pizza was very difficult to eat. First, the pizza was not cut. Could not cut it with a pizza cutter because the base of the pizza was quite soft and doughy. Had to use scissors to cut the pizza and a fork and knife to eat it. Pizza slice could hold without flopping over. Not sure if its suppose to be like this??

A mixed review from our experience last night. The service was outstanding. Good: the fried calamari + appetizer & my wife s pizza was 5 stars. She Loved them. My gluten-free penne Bolognese sauce was the worst I ve experienced. It was filled with oil from the beef. Even when I returned it and got the second, it wasn t much better. I could not eat more than a bit & actually went home feeling crappy. So, other than absolutely recommending to avoid their Bolognese, I m sure the rest of menu is much better. We also enjoyed watching the COPA 24 game on the TV while eating dinner.

Was craving for an authentic stone baked pizza after a tiresome day out shopping, found this place on google and thought to give it a try. Glad we did! Pizza was incredible! Thin crust absolutely loaded with flavourful toppings. You get scissors to cut it, very convenient. For drinks we had a peroni from tap and pear cider. Both very refreshing. Our starter was mushroom ravioli. Cooked Al-dente, absolutely drowned in creamy sauce goodness. It is from their menu of main courses but we requested to have it as an appetiser. Service was friendly, our young lady served was sweet, somewhat distracted by personal matters, but we didn t feel forgotten. Deducted one star on service because the two servers working did spend a lot of time discussing personal issues rather publicly, which seemed a little unprofessional, particularly as our food was waiting to be brought over. This is not some sort of personal attack on either ladies, just an observation. Atmosphere was relaxed, cosy barn type of vibe. Would totally visit again.

Doppio is located in a very small strip mall amongst a mainly residential area next to a gas station. Super popular amongst locals so dine there early and reservations are a must as this place is small. Parking lot is fine if you arrive before 5:45pm on a sunday... after that the strip mall parking lot is full. Now for the food ... the bag of sliced focaccia, mushroom ravioli, chorizo penne and pizza was fantastic. The lasagna was inedible and seemed pre-made and very dry. Gnocchis sauce was a bit bland. Main server was fantastic but the others were definitely lacking skill and attention (they constantly shorted up cutlery, take out boxes, etc.). Seems to be a neighbourhood gem but not really worthwhile to travel from Vancouver for.

Service was exceptional. Seems they were short on staff but they were attentive and prompt for everything. Food was great. Spaghetti Carbonara was a bit too salty but their porcetta was cooked to perfection. Their tagliatelle was slightly overcooked. Calamari was delicious although the dip should be a bit more tangy if its labeled as lime . Hopefully this constructive feedback and help the kitchen to be more consistent. Portion size is perfect for their pricing. Will come back for their pizza and other pastas. Hopefully it will be more enjoyable. Parking: Their small parking lot usually full after 630pm. Good pizza although the speck on top of my pizza was bit too thick, long and chewy. Spaghetti carbonara was okay. Mantecare seemed cheated and I didn t like the grainy texture. My virgin Bellini was just an orange&peach juice with a hint of sprite. Service started off very promising, up to food being served, then she got occupied with a meaningful conversation with a next table customer. Can t fully blame her as she might have been trying to be very polite with the customer but it s also true that such concentrated care often makes other customers feel ignored, especially when no one comes to check on you. Human psychology is weird and I m sure I would ve thought to myself the pizza and the pasta I had were tastier had I had more positive experience with the service and everything. I think I might come back to try the pizza again.

Salad was $20.00 but big enough for two. Meal portion (pasta dishes) were inline with price. Parking: Very limited & tight spots Wheelchair accessibility: Way to tight to eat comfortably

Reserved a table but when we arrived, they put us at the bar, they said they would find us a seat, we asked three times and watched people come and go for over an hour, and they never gave us a seat. when you sit at the bar, you re basically forgotten, and you get to sit there while they make drinks and pass things in front of you. Food was very good, but they appear to have an experienced or overwhelmed wait staff.

With no one coming to take a drink or food order or even check up on us , before my fiancé went up to the front to get someone. 2 large parties who were completely sat after us were helped first instead. Was also told they were too busy to wipe/sanitize for a dairy ALLERGY for a pizza because they all get made in the same spot. 2 stars because food was good

This is the best Neapolitan-style pizza in the entire Vancouver metro area. I regularly order Diavola Pizza with extra Buffalo Mozzarella, and the only pizza that might rival that is the one I had in Lido di Camaiore, Italy. Would recommend to anyone who would like to know how a real pizza tastes like. P.S. The owners are obviously SSC Napoli fans, and I am an AC Milan fan, but that doesnt make their pizza any worse :)

FOMO in COMO, Ive been wanting to come to this little Italian restaurant on Como Lake in Coquitlam for a while. They allowed my dog on the patio which was a big benefit and will definitely be coming back as a result. We order the calamari the pastas and pizza . Lot of locals have been talking about this place so I literally had a fear that I was missing out on a good restaurant, and the expectations held up. The pesto pasta and the seafood spaghetti both had lots of ingredients that was fresh and colorful. We had leftovers and ate pasta the next day which was great as well. The pizzas were made in the nice wood fire oven and were crispy on the outside. First time that Ive received scissors with my pizza to cut it up the way I want. It was interesting because ended up rolling up my pizza like a cazone and folding it in my mouth. Whatever, had fun with it...cant wait to go again.

This was a first time visit to the restaurant. The feeling and ambience of the place is more properly described as a bistro rather than a restaurant. Not a place for romantic or intimate discussion. It is quite noisy, television is on, furniture is sparse with hard wooden chairs, and the tables are slick and bare. That aside, the menu is not overly extensive but includes a well selected variety of honest Italian pasta dishes and pizzas. The wine list has a good range with several Italian choices as well as some good BC selections. Dinner starts with pieces of a nice dense warm bread to dip in oil and balsamic. The following Salad Rucola was well prepared and presented. A simple Penne al Pomodoro pasta dish was very good; the pasta cooked perfectly with a nice light tomato sauce. Our lasagna Bolognese was done in an Italian traditional style, a much softer and creamier delight. It was a hit. However the special lemon cheese cake was a disappointment too much like whipped cream with a gelatinous lemon cover, although the crust was tasty. Overall the meal was fine, served promptly and hot with proportions adequate. The service was friendly, helpful, attentive and courteous. Special shout out to our waiter Nathaniel. Pizza is clearly a specialty and we observed tables near us enjoying theirs. We will save that for another visit. Menu prices were a bit higher than might be expected but you are paying more for a higher quality product than you might get at your usual place. We enjoyed our visit and are likely to return, maybe on a Thursday night when they offer bottles of wine at 30% off.

I was expecting a real Italian pasta but got slimy seafood with Al dente pasta extremely disappointed, the breadsticks were good but that s not why I came. The cooks were shouting at each other instead of cooking. Looks like from reviews it s great but if you re white apparently sub par is what you get. Portion size was good but the food I couldn t even take 3 bites.

I wanted so bad to love my experience. My husband wanted meatballs and sausage , was told by waiter that the owner got mad over requests like that. First red flag. Then we were given raw bread, they fixed that which was awesome. But after the initial interactions the service went flat , as I think owner and family may have arrived as they pretty much ignored us after that. My pasta was good, my husbands too salty. No parm or pepper offered. Wine service was zero as I refilled my own wine. Such a missed opportunity. We won t be back I love the atmosphere, love that it s a neighbourhood restaurant pizza is so good just disappointing.

I have to say I was extremely disappointed. I ve been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and I was definitely let down. I did order delivery, so it might not be their fault, but the food was ice cold. But delivery does not mean that your pizza actually uncooks itself upon arrival. Yes, I understand that this is wood oven cooked pizza, and its thin crust, but it was so thin you could literally see through it and it was all raw dough and mushy in the middle. Also, the meatballs were an embarrassment to all Italians. They were rock hard and lacked seasoning majorly. Major waste of money. My $60 order ended up only having one slice of pizza eaten from it and everything else went into the garbage. And when I say slice I literally mean I had to slice it myself. You d think for how expensive it is, that they would at least cut it for you. Don t let the reviews fool you. The positive reviews are either people who have never had an authentic Italian meal, or the reviews were made up by friends and family.

Here is a story....once upon a time, an amazing Pizza Chef worked at an Italian restaurant, not too far from this one. That restaurant had one of the best Pizzas in Greater Vancouver. So the Chef left, and the restaurant lost the best thing it had. And it never truly recovered. The Chef opened his own restaurant, and there you have it. If you want one of the best and most authentic Italian pizzas, Doppio Zero should be on the top of your list. Its kind of a no-brainer since the Chef and his wife are Italian. They lived and were trained to cook in Italy, so you cant get any closer to authentic. The rest of the menu is amazing as well. I dont think you can go wrong with anything you order. Go and enjoy, your taste buds will thank you.

I know this spot is known for the pizza, which smelled amaaaazing btw, but we were dying for some pasta tonight and it really hit the spot! I had the mushroom ravioli and it was so smooth, creamy, and decadent. The portion was quite large as well but I never got bored with the taste, it was that good! The red sauces were also really great, photoed are a couple other dishes we had but substituted with spaghetti. Our waitress was fantastic, letting us know what the special drink options were for the night as well as the desserts. We double dipped on the pumpkin today - first the pumpkin spice martini which was like a pumpkin spice latte but with vodka (and boy was there vodka!) and the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. We were told it s made in house with ricotta and mascarpone cheese which is why it was so soft and creamy. Get dessert, you won t regret it!! Also want to say that the interior is so cozy. Love it. Hidden gem on Como Lake for sure.

Food today was a bit of a letdown from the first visit. We had the Lasagna and the Carbonara the first visit - and both were superb. Today, we had lasagna again - and same delicious dish! However, the Tagliatelle Bolognese was a bit dry. And the Margherita Pizza DOP was just Ok - with a cold Fior de Latte on top making the whole pizza, well - cold. Unfortunate they don t offer a chicken or beef pizza. Could be pretty good with that dough and cheese they have. Definitely some potential here. We have been here a quite times. Today, Pizza dough was very hard to chew and tough and the table bread was too salty. Margherita pizza has very small amount of cheese. It was like a bare pizza bread with tomato sauce on it. - no fresh basil on top as well. The service was very good though and the people here were all good. Our waitress was kind as usual. I think you need to bring your master pizza guy back to the pizza counter...and the pasta portion was way too small for $25 something- The spaghetti noodle I tasted was not house made for sure and it could be not right to be charged $25 for that small amount with two meatballs. The sauce was okay- meatball size was also very small. I understand this is A good local, family owned place and I would like to see this place go for a long time.

I would recommend making a reservation as it was very busy on a Saturday night. Our group of six had a reservation at 7:30 pm and we all arrived on time but were not seated until 8:00 pm. Between the six of us, we ordered 4 pizza and 2 pasta dishes for mains as well as several alcoholic beverages. There was also complimentary bread served with olive oil, vinegar, and chili oil. Everyone rated the food as a 4 as in it was good food but not the best. We also ordered the tiramisu and cheesecake for dessert. The tiramisu was too soggy and was a bit of a disappointment but the espresso flavour was there. The server was very nice and had a lot of patience with our group. By the time we finished eating, we were the last few patrons. $90+ for 2 pasta, 1 dessert, and 1 beverage is what we had spent. Parking spaces are limited in the lot so give yourself some time to locate parking.

Very horrible experience with the condescending manager who didnt seem to care about customer concerns, rather to take you down with attitude and raised voices...

December 22, 2023

Ive never left a bad review like this before because I dont believe in bringing down businesses with reviews, however... I do feel the need to share my absolute horrible experience with the manager here. Upon receiving our take out orders, I was very shocked at the portion sizes, especially for all the pastas. It didnt even fill half the container. I called in advance to ask about portions as well... 2 pastas and 2 pizzas for 5 people, and a $20 caesar salad that was as big as a side order salad with no chicken... we ordered takeout for my dads birthday and ended up having to scavange food in the fridge to fill up. Moreso than the portion or the food the MANAGER WAS SO RUDE, unprofessional and had an extremely condescending attitude towards me. I called back after receiving the food in case I was mistaken about the portion recommendation, really being confused more than anything, and the first thing she did was SCOFF loudly into the phone. I was so shocked I asked if she laughed at me and she kept repeating uh I dont know what you want from me in such a disgraceful tone. The rest of the conversation continued to be very unpleasant, not a single moment of apology, or clarifying the confusion, even raising her voice at me. I felt very attacked and defeated by the whole interaction. Although the food portions were very small, it was good. Wouldnt rate it the best pasta Ive had, just average. But I will never go back due to the manager, and want to warn people the type of service you may receive if you do run into her.

My recent visit to Doppio Zero Pizza - Italian Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked through the door to the final bite of dessert, every aspect of our dining experience was outstanding. We started our evening by ordering the Award Winning Boschetti pizza and the Ravioli Tartufati, and I must say, it was a decision that well cherish for a long time. The Boschetti pizza was a true masterpiece, with its perfectly thin and crispy crust topped with a harmonious blend of flavors. The Ravioli Tartufati, too, was a delight to the taste buds. What truly elevated our experience was our waiters expert recommendations. He guided us through the menu, suggesting these incredible dishes, and he couldnt have been more spot-on. His knowledge of the cuisine and genuine enthusiasm for the food made our meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere at Doppio Zero Pizza is something to be celebrated as well. Not what I expected. My partner took me to this Italian place that he really enjoyed with some co-workers. I was very underwhelmed. The atmosphere of the restaurant did not match the price point of the food items on the menu. The tables were all sticky as if they had not properly cleaned from the night before. The complimentary bread was stale and dry. We ordered the meatball appetizer, which came with the stale bread. The sauce of the meatballs were excellent, but the meatballs themselves were just okay. The portion of the appetizer was too big. I got the arugula pesto and my partner the seafood linguini. The sauces of both mains were delicious and his seafood was cooked perfectly, but the portion sizes were again too large. Also for the arugula pesto (in my opinion) there was too much sauce for the amount of pasta. Would not recommend.
