"We are specialized in serving various traditional Korean stews in Dookbaeki, hot stone bowls. We pour our hearts and souls to perfect our Dookbaeki recipes. Although we specialize in traditional Korean cuisine, we also have many assortments of contemporary Korean dishes for everyone! Come visit us and experience Korean taste!"
We fall in love with this restaurant since the 1st time we visit 2 months ago, my hubby found his long lost flavour of Seol Leong Tong, here, all their soup rice set is very tasty, the environment is clean & neat, quite comfy to dine in, and their service is very sincere too, very friendly and attentive, I introduced this restaurant to my sisters and they love it too, price is very reasonable, feel free to drop by anytime 😆 Tried their Gamja Tang yesterday (Nov17, 2024) that was really good, it contained 3 big pork bone stew as u can see in the photo, the spiciness of the soup is just right to go with the rice, yummy 😋
Quite enjoyed the gamjatang and seafood soondubu (tofu soup)! Side dishes were pretty average. Spacious restaurant and plenty of free parking. They use the service button which you press to get service. Would return again if I was craving!
This is the best Korean restaurant I've visited so far. I've been to many Korean restaurants across Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, New Westminster, and more, but this one stands out as my favorite. It seems like a hidden gem, as during my visit, I only saw Korean customers. The food is excellent, the service is good, and the prices are fair. A nice touch is the Asian yogurt drink they give you after the meal—my kid absolutely loved it. We'll definitely be coming back again soon!"
- Very spacious, comfortable seating. - Friendly and attentive staff - Delicious BIBIMBAB and seafood pancake - generous refill of Kimchi and Bean sprouts side dishes This store is highly recommended
If you’re craving comfort food and Korean food, this place is amazing! We went on a cold rainy day, and the food was super filling! The sogogi soontubu was my personal favourite as it was so flavourful especially when mixed with rice! Highly recommend it if you like beef stews and soups. When you’re done with your meal you get a complimentary yogurt drink which pairs perfectly with the dishes and is super cute. 🥰
Came for a late lunch. Big restaurant with booths and buttons to call for service. Small parking lot shared with several businesses. I ordered the gal-bi tang $22.95 - beef back rib and beef brisket in medicine beef broth. It came with free side dishes that were a bit sus tasting. Not the freshest. Soup came bubbling to the table! Two large bones. It was tender, but lacked that fatty, juicy beef flavour. The beef brisket was dry as per the norm in these soups. Soup was seasoned well. Ended dinner with a free yakult (yogurt drink) which was a nice way to wrap up the meal.
Visited on a quiet evening, got seated quickly with plenty of available tables. The menu was straightforward; we ordered soups. Side dishes came first, followed by the flavorful soup and not-too-spicy stew. We were able to opt out of the side rice for noodles free of charge which was nice. There wasn’t much meat in mine, but the issue I had was the amount of onions in the soup, it occupied most of the space in the stone bowl so it wasn’t enjoyable. Reasonable prices, no rush to leave – great for both small and large groups. A delightful surprise was the complimentary yogurt drinks at the end, a nice touch after a satisfying meal.
First time trying Dookbaeki Korean restaurant located in Coquitlam. It was quite an enjoyable experience. We both ordered hot soups with rice and side dishes as seen in the photos. I forget the exact names of the dishes, but will edit this review later and add them in. No real complaints about our experience here however, my soup did not have as much meat in it as I would’ve liked, it seemed to have a lot of fatty type of thin beef. Which is fine, but I would have liked to have seen more thin slices of lean beef versus fatty beef. Other than that, everything was fantastic and delicious, and the service was top-notch. Highly recommended, and I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.
Food is good, soup is good and the free yogurt drink at the end was a surprise!
Food and services were great
Two and a half lines of bossam were served. Two lines were good, but the half line was almost tasteless.
I ordered takeout and felt like a victim when I got it. I will be a fool next time
hits the spot. wang donkatsu & soups are great;
first time here, tried sundae gukbap since its rare on other korean resto here. Its the best gukbap I have tried. They have variety of seasoning for it and I only added salted shrimp and ground perilla seed. Serbives and ambience were great. I am satisfied!
Bibimbap seemed less flavourful than at a competitor s North Road location but the service here is much friendlier. The cold water in jugs is a nice touch. There are bean sprouts as one of the complimentary side dishes, rather than just kimchi. Would plan to get here by car next time instead of walking as the roads nearby are quite busy.
First time coming here, everything in overall is good. The food also tastes good. Service was excellent and the atmosphere also perfect. They have a lot of tables so there will be no waiting. I personally love the decoration in this restaurant. They have a few korean traditional clothing in display and they looked so cute! Next time, we should have come on weekdays to get many offers. Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options by substituting their meats into something else. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair parking and wheelchair entrance accessible.
Food is really good. Service was excellent. Thankyou for the complimentary drink. Will come back again.
It s a very delicious meal
Authentic Korean food with generous portions
After eating at this restaurant, which is only a ten-minute drive away, my stomach hurts like crazy. The four of us were completely wiped out! ! ! Dont go
Paid $25 for bulgogi. Had to dig through a pile of onions to find the tiny bit of beef. Then the server completely ignored me the whole time and only spoke Korean to my wife.
Hidden K-restaurant gem in the Coquitlam Centre area. Donkatsu is especially super good as are the gukbabs The Korean yogurt drink they give with the bill is a perfect finish Good place without the need to take the trip all the way to Burquitlam. Food : 5/5
One of my Korean friends recommended this place. The food is very traditional Korean, and the beef bone soup is very good!
Spacious restaurant quite busy on a Saturday night but not full. The tofu soups were good and reasonably priced between $15-$18. Definitely would order again. Jap Chae was an appetizer portion but was way overpriced at $24. Not worth it at all in my opinion. Seafood pancake was just okay. The pieces seemed too soft and started falling apart easily when you picked them up. Overall, on soups. Rest are hit or miss to me.
Fabulous Flavours fresh. Some spicy some not, everything is delicious and service is friendly and quick.
Photos and reviews brought my entire family here! They say their DonKatsu is the best... And it definitely was! Seafood Pancake was also the best one Ive tried. The Ddukboki is extremely spicy along with the bbq chicken with cheese 5 adults, 2 kids roughly $200 meal! Was a great experience, they need more staff though.. Poor girls
Solid food and kind servers.
Probably one of the best Korean places in the tricities, their speciality is their bone broth soup (5 days to make) and is also a base to other jigaes (soups) such as the spicy ones. It s a really good, rich base full of umami - we ve had the tofu, gopchang, beef solong-tang and they re all very good. The jap-chae (potato noodles), LA Kalbi were also good. Lastly one item you won t find in everywhere is the other rice wine (makkolli) served in a brass teapot and brass bowls to drink from. This is very traditional? And it has a refreshing slightly fermented taste. I believe it s made locally in Surrey and they buy it from there. The place is large and clean, and good for larger groups.
Absolutely good food, reasonable price.
Its better than any other Korean restaurant Ive tried in Vancouver. Soft tofu stew and dogani stew... both were the best. Ill be moving right around the corner from Ttukbaegi in 3 years, so Ill come back more often then! Please stay here for a long time
Really liked our food! Service was excellent! Always love getting endless kimchi and pickled radish! Hell yes
The price is much more expensive than other Korean restaurants! Fried dumplings cost $19? Oh my God, that s outrageous! The service is quite good! The taste is also normal! But I wouldn t recommend a visit! There are also many restaurants where Korean food is reasonably priced and delicious!
the pork bones soup is not tender enough to eat.
We ordered Sundubu-jjigae and Cheese BulDak. We asked the waitress to make them mild as the food was very spicy on our last visit. Somehow end up with the dishes much spicier than our previous visit. We couldn t enjoy the main dish as they are just full of red peppers.
friendly service , quality food
This is the worst restaurant around here. I thought it was a model made out of some kind of rubber, because it seemed like it wasnt thawed enough or it couldnt be disassembled. The server just forgot our order and didnt even give us the dishes they said they would just give us... If the side dishes are like this, you really shouldnt be in business.
I ate pork soup, and unlike regular soup, it was mild and I didnt feel thirsty and drank water after eating it. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant.
Food was expensive and wasnt that great. Liked the service and the atmosphere.
Vegetarian options: Kimchi tofu soup is great!
Food is great, service is great and the renovation gives you a typical South Korean restaurant you go after work vibe. Only cons that I have noticed they automatically added 15% tips to your bill, so be aware and do not get double tipped. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp
I enjoyed the beef hotpot. And the korean pancake. The hotpot gave two bowls of rice as well. Very filling. I thought the pancake however, was too oily. Service was excellent, the server was very friendly and cute. 8/10 would go again.
Conveniently located on Coquitlam, great service.
I dont want head meat in my sundae soup, but the pork is so spicy that I cant eat it. Spicy Dongtae stew looks like it was boiled with pollack, not pollack, so it is so tough that you cant chew it. Of course, if you are not a foodie, you should order two bowls of that too.
Soup is simply amazing and the side dishes are chef s kiss
Really good place to go with family.
I recommend this Korean restaurant in Coquitlam for families. The staff is incredibly friendly, making it a welcoming environment for children. Our favorite dishes are the tofu kimchi stir-fry and sulong soup both consistently delicious. The restaurant is spacious with ample parking, which adds to the convenience. Plus, the complimentary yogurt drink served after the meal is a delightful touch. Overall, its a fantastic spot for a satisfying meal with great service!
Stopped by for a late lunch and it wasnt very busy on the weekend. We were seated promptly at a table. The restaurant is quite large and I can see it being good for large groups. We tried the gogi kalgooksu and sogogi dolsot bibimbap. The banchan was kimchi radish, kimchi, and beansprouts. The gogi kalguksu was tasty. The broth was flavourful and the portion was pretty good, with plenty of veggies and beef. The sogogi dolsot bibimbap had lots of veggies and beef as well. The bowl could have been hotter to crisp up the rice. There were some crispy bits on the very bottom, but I think there could have been more. Overall, it was a satisfying meal and service was good. Food came out fast. If Im in the area, I would come back to try other items.
Spicy cold noodles are delicious.
The authentic beef soup place!
Service was fast, and the food was great
Ive gotten take out a couple of times from here but decided to dine in tonight. They have a clean interior where things are relatively modern. Staff was friendly. Everything was delicious and tasty. Their seolleongtang was rich and creamy, and their naengmyeon broth was perfect. Would definitely go back to try other things as well. Kid-friendliness: They had some big tables at the back for strollers and they have high chairs. They also have a ramp that leads up to the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Theres a ramp to go up to the restaurant but the doors are not automatic.
First time here. It wasn t too busy but there s a lot of groups! Perfect restaurant for large parties. We just got 2 things , kimchi dumplings and the rice noodle beef. They both were just okay. The dumplings weren t as flavourful as I thought they would be but maybe next time I ll try pork. The noodles were good but they barely had beef and the beef was extremely over cooked and chewy. Overall I would try other dishes. They give each guest a yogurt probiotic to go.
Spacious and clean dining room area with a large menu of many delicious Korean eats. Prices are reasonable and comparable other Korean restaurants. When ordering, you ll need to press a button and the server will come to you to take your order. You get tea but can request for water as well. We ordered the pork bone soup and the seafood tofu soup. The pork bone soup was alright but the meat wasn t really soft like other places. The seafood tofu soup has a good kick with medium spice but wished there was a larger variety of seafood. Both dishes came with white rice. There were also side dishes served and you can request refills. At the end of the meal, you get a complimentary nice sweet yogurt drink. Parking lot is pretty small and is shared with other businesses in the area.
My favourite Korean food in the Vancouver area, hands down. We literally drive from downtown Vancouver to come here it s that good. You can t go wrong really but we regularly reorder: jeyuk-bokkeum; haemul soontubu; cheese buldak; and scallion pancakes. Also the banchan is amazing - I m obsessed with the fresh kimchi they make, wish I could buy it from them.
Best Korean tofu soup in town
The food was better than I expected and the service was great. The kimchi was really delicious. We ordered donkatsu, beef bibimbab, bossam, spicy chicken with cheese and tteoboki.
We were brought here by one of our Korean friends, and it did not disappoint. If I could remember the name of the dish I had (I believe it was #21), I d recommend that here, but to be honest, the entire menu looked absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself was clean and spacious. Our servers were incredibly kind and accommodating. Great food overall! Dookbaeki will definitely be our go-to place for authentic Korean cuisine!
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I came here for a family birthday celebration. Food was delicious. Restaurant is spacious for group dining. Washroom is clean. Cute traditional clothing pair décor on the wall. Its a gem in the area!
Good tofu soup! Love how they give yakult when u leave
Really good food quality.
Great taste!!
The food is all delicious and the staff are especially friendly :) Eat well!
Good Korean soup and comes with a Yakut for free at the end. Would recommend number 22 with the tendon :)
delicious food and great service. we were there for a bit longer than planned due to drinking some good makgeolli, to the point that we were the last customers, but the service was continuously generous and patient.
Great food and great service! Best place for Korean soup and love the yakult at the end!
Great and fast service! Friendly staff specially Sir Steve. Delicious food, including their kimchi, it really tastes very Korean! The store is clean and the ambiance is amazing!! Highly recommended restaurant!!! Recommended dishes
love the seafood soup here , kimchi is always very fresh. Extremely good customer service
First thing, the employee is really accommodating. The food was superb. It was really good. For people who likes korean food, this is a best place to go.
This place offered best Korean authentic food . The spice level in the food is out of this world . The chilli or red pepper they use in the food is bright ,fresh tasting and hit you with a good punch . Be sure to drink the yogurt drink that they provide at the end of the meal to cool your tummy .They also provide a fermented shrimp mixture that you can add to the soup which will bring you to the next level of tastiness . Have not seen any Korean restaurant offered that before . The kimchi as side dish is also to die for . This is the best Korean restaurant I been to by far.
Amazing place!!! Love the soups
You have to order the tonkatsu! It s so big and crispy and I usually order it as a side dish to eat along with the soup. The portion is huge but def recommend!
I delivered bbossam and seolungtang on Ubereats. Bbossaam is perfectly cooked and kimchi is so fresh! So Yummy It was too late to take picture because I was busy eating.
This restaurant has a big capacity. It seems like a perfect place for big groups(6 or more). I tried #33(Budae-soontubu) and #35(Sagol-ugeoji-haejangguk) and they were both amazing for my spicy taste. The balance between soup and protein+veggie were great. Everything was very fresh and preped properly. I will definitely go back and try more!!
This restaurant has best Korean soups in Greater Vancouver and waitresses are super kind!!
Food was quite good, service is excellent! I had a scooter and they offered to take it and my helmet into the office so I didn t have to lock it up outside. Wheeled it out for me when we left, and they were very friendly.
We ordered 3 hot pots and one cold noodle. They all were pretty tasty. The service was good as well.
First time dining at the restaurant. I was surprised at the quality and quantity of the food. The service was amazing and the interior design was very beautiful Parking: Right in front of the restaurant pretty empty around four
Large spacious restaurant with very friendly service and professional staff. Food came out fast too!
I had the pleasure of dining at DookBaeki Korean restaurant in Coquitlam recently and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with my experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel welcomed from the start. The restaurants location is also worth mentioning. Its very clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for diners. The menu features a wide variety of traditional Korean dishes, all expertly prepared with the freshest of ingredients. I had the opportunity to try the dduckbokki and dogani-tang and I was blown away by their flavors. The dduckbokki was the perfect combination of chewy rice cakes and a spicy sauce that was both satisfying and flavorful. The dogani-tang was especially noteworthy, with a rich and flavorful broth that was the perfect way to warm up on a chilly day. The service at DookBaeki was truly outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, always offering helpful recommendations and making sure that all of our needs were met. They went above and beyond to make sure that we had a wonderful dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend DookBaeki to anyone looking for a fantastic Korean dining experience. Whether youre a fan of Korean cuisine or trying it for the first time, you wont be disappointed. The variety of dishes on the menu, the expertly prepared meals, and the welcoming atmosphere are sure to please everyone. I would give DookBaeki a solid 5 stars and I cant wait to go back and try even more of their delicious dishes! 5 stars!
So many delicious options for food and staff were quick and friendly. I always get the pork broth with rice, and it is comforting and always reminds me of when I worked in Korea. They were also patient with my daughter, who was making a bit of a ruckus. Dookbaeki is a great restaurant if you want to try something korean that isnt bbq.
I was passing by and was hungry so I happened to visit this place and it was an excellent choice. The server was kind enough to explain things to me, so I ordered dogani soup to protect my health, and it was really delicious. The noodle soup was good, the broth was rich, the soup was fresh, the side dishes were clean, and the restaurant was clean overall, so I enjoyed it so much that my companion and I asked to break the seal on the menu. Sometimes, there are restaurants that add cream to the soup of seolleongtang to make it look white, but this place doesnt do that and serves just the rich beef bone broth. Thanks to that, I ate two bowls of rice. I dont usually eat out because I have a bit of a picky appetite, but this is one of the restaurants I want to visit. May you prosper. ^^
Seafood tofu soup was really good! Side dishes are refillable. Waiters had awesome service. Would come back again!
Nice spot for authentic Korean food in Coquitlam! Ive been a few times and tried a couple flavors of soon tofu soup, the bossam, and the seafood pancake - all of them have been great! The restaurant itself is clean and spacious - good for bit groups! Service is also friendly, and the prebiotic drinks at the end of the meal were a nice touch.
Great restaurant!!
Tasty food, clean restaurant, quick service. Easy to park at. Love that each customer gets a Korean Yogurt drink for dessert :) Had the naengmyeon and cheese ttebokki, portions were good. Would visit again
Absolutely delicious food. I highly recommend eating here. Service was good and food was great!
Have gone multiple times already and the food and service has always been amazing. Would highly recommend the place to all my friends.
The food is amazing and comforting. Good, quick service and comes with a yakult drink at the end. Will definitely go back to try more.
We love coming here for dinner. The food is amazing!
Delicious soup (broth) ! Almost reminds us of ramen broth. Best of all, you can season it however you like at the table. Service can be a bit slow because they are quite busy, but the atmosphere is friendly and relaxing!
Went in for late lunch and ordered 3 items as per the recommendation of the server. They were all very delicious! Left very satisfied Parking: Plenty of parking space Kid-friendliness: I went in with a 7 month old baby and she was so well accommodated.
Food was so delicious and service was good too. I definitely come back there.
I enjoyed eating a warm bowl of earthen pot on a cold day. When the bossam was boiled and slightly warmed before being served, the meat was dry overall. That was a bit disappointing
Delicious soups and friendly staff.
Great!! Love soup
Food is great! Dined in once but I always order take out. There was a mix up with our order once and the manager, Eric, handled it very well. Very good customer service!
The side dishes, soup, meat are great. The service and attitude are great too. The kids enjoyed the meal as well!
We went in tonight, and ordered a decent amount of food (wanted some to take home). When the food came out, the portions were absolutely huge! Great food, and great service. The portion sizes were double that of most restaurants. Great restaurant all around.
Very good service, good menu not overly extensive. Food was very good and thr prices were reasonable. And you get free yogurt too!
Fantastic food, great atmosphere, and kind staff members. It s worth a visit everyone!
Thanks for the delicious food. I had dinner with my father-in-law. The food was very delicious and the servers were kind and efficient. I would comeback here many other times.
Amazing korean food!! Highly recommend to everyone
Really hot, fresh soup! Many Korean restaurants have the smelly meat taste to their broth but Dookbaeki s don t. Came here multiple times and tried different menus every time but, they ve never failed me. The yakult at the end is such a great bonus to their service as it is very refreshing after a savoury meal
loved this place! Food was amazing. Love the kimchi
I recently visited a restaurant that offered some of the best Korean dishes Ive ever had! Their (Sundae-gukbap) was especially delicious, with the Sundae (Korean blood sausage) adding a rich and savory flavor to the hearty rice soup (Gukbap). I also tried their (Donkatsu), which was a perfectly crispy and flavorful pork cutlet (Don) that was clearly made with care and attention to detail. Another highlight of my meal was the (Dolsot bibimbap) served in a sizzling hot stone pot (Dolsot). The mixed rice with vegetables and meat (Bibimbap) was perfectly seasoned and the crunchy rice at the bottom of the pot was a real treat. Finally, I have to mention the (Gamjatang), a stew (Tang) made with potatoes (Gamja) and other flavorful ingredients. The soup was hearty and delicious, with a perfect balance of spices and a depth of flavor that made every bite truly satisfying. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to try some truly authentic and delicious Korean cuisine. I cant wait to go back and try more of their amazing dishes!
Came here for lunch on my brothers birthday and was not disappointed! My favourite Korean restaurant closed during the pandemic, and I think I may have found my new go to place for Kimchi sundubu! Love that they do take out and delivery as well so I can have this whenever I want
The food was really delicious, flavourful and well presented. The portions are fair. Great selection of soups and it s great on cold days. Will definitely be back.
Yummy! We got the bossam and two soups that came with rice. Everything tasted good. Restaurant was clean and spacious. Server was polite.x
Chum Churum Rich (17) / haemul pajeon (22.95) / assorted suyuk (38.95) / bossam (35.95) / gopchang soontubu (17.95) / gamja tang (18.95)
My go to for hot stone dish. Good service good good.
Super deep taste of soup, incredible great services Parking: Free parking in front of the building
The foods overall are great and everything is kindly served. I would definitely come again!
Always a go to for great Korean soup! The bossam is SO good!!
Super flavourful soups with a good variety of options! I tried the Seolleong-Tang, Sogogi Soontubu and Gamja-Tang! All were delicious, I ll be back to try more!
Parking: Accessible parking, good food & excellent service.
Im really happy we found this place because they serve cold noodles in the winter and Im always craving them all year round! The food and service was great and they have a lot of space for seating.
I think this restaurant s seolleongtang is the best in Vancouver. Its really delicious. Even if I dont have anything else to do near Coqui Center, I always come here to eat ttukbaegi seolleongtang because it reminds me of it. The location is a bit far, but I think the advantage compared to Lougheed or other Korean restaurants is that the taste is consistently delicious every time you come. I also recommend the assorted boiled pork, and I highly recommend Ttukbaegi Seolleongtang to those who miss Hanchon Seolleongtang or those visiting for the first time.
Excellent korean restaurant with traditional korean dishes. Steve was very nice to us and overall great experience. Will be coming back very soon
Casual korean restaurant with delicious soups and great service. Perfect on a cold winters day! Parking: Lots of free parking. Kid-friendliness: Comfortable and kid friendly! Kids love the complimentary yogurt drink at the end of the meal.
I was looking forward to the quality of the food because the bowl of was nearly 20 bucks. It was very mediocre and was a rip off.
The soups were flavorful and we were happy to see they served cold noodles all year round. We also got the donkatsu meal, and the portion was big. Overall, great flavor and we ll be coming back.
Terrible customer service, my family and I came out here for dinner we waited to be seated first then had to wait a another 15 minute and still no one took our order they wouldnt even look at our table they served other customers then went back to cleaning tables.
Great everyday Korean food. Very spacious restaurant, and great service!
The store is very clean and spacious. Of all the soups Ive ever had, this is the most delicious restaurant in Vancouver. I will definitely come back to eat Korean food whenever I feel like it!!:)
Its real pork soup! There is a lot of lean meat and the kimchi is delicious! Surprisingly, tripe soft tofu is also a delicacy.
The food was so-so compared to the price range.
Great delicious food. We ordered Wang Donkatsu but they gave us bibimbap instead. The waitress apologized sincerely and was going to take it back. We told her we would gladly take the bibimbap instead. She was going to comp it but we insisted on paying for it. She gave us a free Diet Coke for the mistake. We also ordered Gamjatang which was a huge portion. We took the leftover home for lunch the next day by adding a bit of water. It s still tasty! Overall, the food is delicious and the service is great. We will come back here again and we recommend the place to everyone.
I heard of this place via Instagram ad and there was a giveaway contest few months back. I regret not visiting here sooner. Anyways, I was so curious of this restaurant so I went with my sister. Interior was very Korean particularly Hanbok, signs and masks. This place was pretty tidy. Call bell is also placed for quick service. We ordered 24. Sundae Gukbab ($27.95) and 48. Cheese Buldak ($23.95) food looked very appetizing. Sundae Gukbab had plentiful of meat and some soondae (Blood sausages). Soup was rich and tasty. They knew how to make proper Gukbab with chives on top. Condiments came along as well, salted shrimps, ground perilla (similar to sesame), dadaegi (=pepper seasonings) and chopped peppers. It was so good with extra perilla and the red pepper sauce. Cheese Buldak was good as well. Spicy chicken with cabbages and rice cakes with melted cheese on top, YUM! There was more cabbages than meats though. We ordered mild spicy than regular spicy flavour. Mild spicy was still bit spicy for us. Luckily, my tummy wasn t upset. However, it was too expensive for the price tag. Both dishes were pretty good. Side dishes came with Kimchi, spicy radish, and bean sprouts. They have excellent tasting Kimchi here. I couldn t stop gushing about how good they cook. Server was very helpful. He gave us a banchan refill. Lastly, free Yakult was the highlight to wash up spices. 10% discount applies for online orders. Food is expensive here, but it was pretty good.
A few days ago, I ate pork soup and pork cutlet. I highly recommend the pork soup. However, the pork cutlet sauce was too salty and sweet (maybe because I went in the evening). The side dishes are delicious and the staff are very friendly. Still, it was delicious ^^
This was actually the second time we had lunch at this Korean restaurant. The ambience and decor look nice and authentic. We were seated right after we arrived. The servers here were very efficient. They gave us menus right away. Once we looked at the menu and knew what we wanted to order, we pressed the bell. Ding dong! Then a server would come and take our orders. The food came out quickly. That was we didn t have to wait for a long time. We had the spicy tofu soup with beef, veggie bibimbap, and beef brisket soup with rice. We got three small side dishes. They were good. Just wish the restaurant could offer more different side dishes. It s always kimchi, bean sprouts and daikons. Overall, the food quality was good. The quantity of ingredients in the tofu soup with beef was quite a lot that I couldn t be able to finish it. I had to pack some home. The pricing is reasonable as we all know there is inflation everywhere. The service was good. I saw a customer who sat next to us ordered the fried pork cutlet with rice (Wang donkatsu). The pork chop was huge that was like the size of my face. I would like to try that next time. After we paid, we got free small yogurt drinks from the restaurant. It was a nice little treat
Was good
I got the 1 spice rating Bibim-Naengmyeon (Cold Noodle Dish - $16.96) and it was sooooo spicy. One spice rating????? Is my spice tolerance this bad? But so good. There s a soft spot in my heart for a sweet tangy sauce and gochujang sauce with ice cold rice noodles and the iteration from here did not disappoint. If u don t got a korean tongue tho, beware of the spice levels (I can usually handle spice better). The egg and meat are the balancing agents; the cherry on top. I will eat thru the pain any day I also shared the Cheese Dduckbbokie ($17.95) with the pals and this was very good but also very spicy - wish there was a little more cheese so we could handle the spice. I tried bites of everyone else s food as well and everything hit the spot!! Super comfort meal material.
The spicy soup was amazing! Highly recommended.
A very wide selection of Korean food is available. Nothing in particular seemed to be the special of the day. The soup base was good, and the intestines were from beef. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and the restaurant itself was quite big as well. Even came with a free yogurt dessert!
Authentic delicious Korean food. Service is excellent. Free yakult.
Ever since I came here, Ive been craving beef dolsot bibimbap. In particular, I really wanted to eat rice like Koshihikari, but the waterer I live with only ate brown rice a lot, so I didnt have time to eat anything else, but I finally came and ate it with my brothers. I scraped up the crispy rice from the stone pot, coated it with 3 rounds of thin red pepper paste, mixed it, and took a bite. A fireworks display of flavor unfolded in my mouth. One thing I felt was disappointing before the afterglow went away was that there was no sesame oil. Ask the staff if they have sesame oil.
First trip with family. Good portions and good taste. Wide variety of items.
I went for lunch today, and I ordered sundae soup and pork cutlet. They said they would provide 5 pieces of sundae for the sundae soup, but 2 pieces were completely spread out and only glass noodles were floating around, and 3 pieces were also unclear. The pork they added had a very strong pork smell. I went there after reading the reviews, but to be honest, I left early because of my child... but the food wasnt as delicious as what I saw in the reviews. In particular, the smell of pork is so off-putting.
I am leaving my review with a photo haha.
Better than soft tofu Pork soup
Great Korean restaurant. Very clean and comfortable. Our server, Monica, was amazing. She helped explain the different stews and food selections. She made our experience unforgettable. Thank you Monica and Dookbaeki!
Food was really delicious. People were nice and prices are good for the portion in general we had a really good time here and will definitely go back. Also Monica who helped us made our visit even better, such a wonderful person Definitely will go back :)
Maybe I had too much expectation . Ordered 3 pots of soup and sonndae dish. They took wrong order so we had to wait til foods is ready again and Soondae dish was cold and most veggies was not cooked all the way because soup wasn t boiling enough.
Great food with big portions and great prices. Very helpful and friendly staff, especially Monica that made us feel right at home :)
It was an amazing experience. Each dish was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Korean cuisine in a warm and inviting environment.
Third time here food is always good, service was fast since we arrived an hour before closing. The sundae gukbab soup was flavorful and tasty. . The steamed meat dumplings were yummy. Restaurant is clean and spacious. Can t wait to go back. Recommended dishes
Good place to try Korean cuisine.
Ive been coming back to this restaurant with my family a few times. And when we were there last Tuesday, my girls birthday, I noticed the quality of the food got better, as well as the service. The lady server was so helpful and friendly. Thank you!!
Had lunch, my children loved pork cutlets, enough portion. But pork bone soup didn t meet expectations, was hard to get any meat seems like undercooked and also bone doesn t have much meat to eat. Staff was very kind and restaurant is spacious and clean. Would love to go back to try something else
Its definitely the go-to restaurant for an open, roomy dining area with authentic Korean food. I high recommend this place for any occasions. Our server Monika was very friendly and helpful with the food on the menu. Thank you
I LOVE THIS PLACE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GO HERE
Traditional dishes, such as classic seafood tofu soup and stone pot, served in a welcoming, tidy and spacious restaurant. A very comfy choice for a family dinner.
The pork bone soup is not hot and quite diluted. Ordered for refills and it never come. Place looks better after the renovation but not the food and service. Bad bad bad Food
It was Father s Day, and they were able to accommodate us last minute party of 6 and a baby. Food was amazingly good and quick! Especially that cold noodle.
Very tasty. Plenty of choices in their menu.
Went on a weekday evening for a later dinner and was seated right away. The place had two or three occupied tables, but the rest were readily available. The menu was easy to understand and we ordered one stew and one soup. Staff delivered side dishes first and the soup and stew arrived shortly afterwards. The soup was extremely creamy and savoury in flavour. It comes without salt or pepper so you can add those according to your personal taste. The stew was also flavourful and not too spicy. Price was reasonable for two dishes and staff were in no rush to hurry us out. Would recommend for both small group and large group gatherings. They also give complementary yogurt drinks at the end, which was a lovely touch after such a filling meal.
Love their beef tendon soup! Perfect for when you re feeling under the weather or sick.
The service was good and everyone was friendly and very nice, but the food was a bit disappointing... The meat in the seolleongtang was a bit smelly and tough, probably because it was old, so it was hard to eat, and the meat in the beef bone hangover soup was also too tough and salty, probably because it had been boiled for a long time, so I couldnt eat it even after adding more bone broth. It was a bit like that... I know its hard for everyone these days because prices have risen a lot, but I cant give up my expectations of what Im paying for. The sundae was so delicious.
So Good~~ Normally, I struggle to even eat half a bowl of rice once a day. Its hard to eat more because Im pregnant^^ When the ttukbaegi comes, you get a bowl of ttukbaegi~and some kkakdugi~~ Its perfect~~ Its delicious
Delectable... I hope they keep up the current quality Food
Tasty and flavorful dishes ...gotta go for spicy meal choices. Nice selection on the menu. Nothing fancy more like korean home comfort food.
The food portions are generous and the quality is great as well!! The soups are the richest Ive tasted in the coquitlam area and the servers are very nice. The makguksu had some of the chewiest noodles (in a good way) that ive ever had. Will be returning!
So delicious! Highly recommend the 7. dduckbbokie and the 28. sogogi-soontubu! The kimchi side was also really good. Flavours are amazing and the dishes had amazing textural balance. Nice staff, very quick seating, clean!
Good !!
While traveling to Vancouver and visiting Coquitlam, I really wanted to eat Korean food, so I went there! The two of us ordered one pork rib and one soybean paste stew. The pork ribs were so delicious, and the soybean paste stew ingredients were so generous that I loved it! Even though the two of us ate, it was enough and we were full. The staff were all very friendly and checked in with us from time to time to take care of us. Thank you for kindly answering my mom s sudden questions. Thanks to you, let s make great memories in Canada!
The cold noodles were delicious and refreshing! They keep the entire restaurant freezing cold, which is nice in the blistering heat, but left us wishing we had ordered a hot soup instead Food : 5/5
The place has friendly staff and extensive menu. Tried pork galbi and it came on a hot sizzling plate kept food nice and hot till the end. It has a nice grilled smoky flavor. Also tried yukgaejang with extra spicy and they indeed made it nice and spicy. Make sure to stir well and wait for the veggies to simmer down. Lastly, the place has air conditioner, which is a welcome change on a hot summer day, especially when a lot of places dont provide one. They also served Korean Yakult as a service for dessert, which is a nice touch. Will definitely visit again.
Food
The taste was good and I was satisfied with the atmosphere and everything.
Excellent food. Unlimited side dish are killer Service was amazing. Atmosphere was good. Showroom were clean. The only thing I will change would be various side dishes. I think three good but 5 or 6 will take it out of this world.
The broth for Sul Lung Tang is so rich and nutritious!
Great place friendly staff and tasty foods.
Excellent food with various different selections. Attentive staff and quality service all around. A hidden gem.
LOVELOVELOVE the food was SO GOOD we got jokbal (pork feet) and spicy cold noodles. Hands down best cold noodles Ive ever had. So chewy!
The amount of submissions is really small I didnt feel like Dainin was small, but the amount of submissions was extremely small.
Clean, good service, good food, and good playlist
Good parking place. Very nice Korean traditional decorating. We ordered Korean traditional for dinner 2 soon du bu & 2 Bibim naeng myeon. Fresh & delicious and good serving. Mid. Price
Too expensive for mediocre food and slow service. Also it was very loud. I wouldnt go back again
Went there for dinner, I wish to give a higher rating, however the service that I received was the main issue. Servicers (2 ladies) were not friendly at all, I had some question when ordering for my food, but the lady had no patient in answering my question (with an annoying face), I also asked for water because the Stir-fry Rice Cake was very Spicy, but she gave me the water when I almost finished my Rice Cake, but it was not busy at all, not even half full at the restaurant, I was so helpless. Anyway foods were OK, however with a better service and dinning experience I would give a higher rating, however I think customer service is important when rating a restaurant. I ordered #33 Rice Fish Cake and #7 .
I got the sagol ugeoji haejang soup. It was lacking in the amount of ugeoji (which is cabbage) and was mostly broth. The whole point of a ugeoji soup is to enjoy the cabbages in the soup. It was also overly salty and lacked deep flavour. I would avoid this soup at this restaurant. I cannot comment on their other dishes. Their cabbage kimchi and radish kimchi were good and they were the best part of the meal.
Dookbaeki opens till late and all their soups are great. Their Makgeolli, however, is just amazing. Must try!
The food came out a little cold, so I told the waiter and a man came and apologized. He said he would give me a new one right away and gave me two bottles of Coke as a compliment. I think you are very kind, so I give you 5 stars. I enjoyed the meal and drank the cola well.
Had dinner with my friends coming over to Coquitlam. Food came out quick, the server was kind and prompt. The washroom was clean and was easy to park in front of the restaurant. - Bossam (steamed pork belly) was really good, probably something you expect in Korea. 5/5 - Yukgyejang was really good as well, just like having one in Korea. 4.5/5 - Soondubu (soft tofu soup with no spice) was also pretty good. I was wondering what it would taste like as the only Soondubu soup I had in my entire life came with chili sauce. It was surprisingly good. 4/5 Now, the problem is the Soondae-guk ( ). I would give 2.5/5. Im a huge fan of Soondae-guk and trust me, I use to have it at least once a week, and for how long? for more than 10 years. It was so bland and did not have the flavour I was expecting. The meat and Soondae inside were okay, but the broth was killing my entire experience. Now, a gentleman came over to ask if everything was alright. I asked back if this is how it usually taste here. He explained that they changed their recipe and said they are now using the beef broth. This made so much sense. However, it you are going to use something different, you really should leave a note so the customers can decide. The traditional Soondae-guk would use pork broth. Period. However, there is a popular franchise in Korea called Damso( ) and I remember ordering beef-broth Soondae-guk. This franchise at least had an option to choose between beef/pork broth... Anyway, I could at least finish the soup after the explanation since I was starving. I tried toadjust the soup with sauces but wasnt successful. Would I order the Soondae-guk again here? No. If I knew it was going to be beef-broth Soondae-guk, I wouldnt have ordered it in the first place. However, everything else was well executed. The little yogurts they gave us were pretty good - brought back my childhood memories. Im definitely coming back for more soups and other dishes.
If you are looking for a traditional Korean restaurant this is the right place! I loved the service from start to finish! very tasty food, clean and pleasant atmosphere! I will definitely come back more often. And theres free yakult when you ask for the bill.
I dont know if we were unlucky today or if the chef changed, but it wasnt as delicious as other peoples reviews said. The first time the sundae soup came out, it smelled really bad. Although the price was not cheap, the contents were very poor. It was only full of soup and the amount of sundae and other meat inside was very small. The beef ttukbaegi bibimbap wasnt particularly delicious. The vegetables inside werent that fresh. Its a menu I often order at other restaurants, so its easier to compare. I dont think the $20 price is real. I ordered griddle cheese... but when I saw the menu, I was a little taken aback. After all, the best part about teppan food is that it is stir-fried over high heat, so it has to have a fiery taste to taste good, but it was full of water. I was shocked when I saw it, but after tasting it, I had nothing more to say! The flavors are just garlic, curry powder, and spicy! This tastes both yours and mine, its always spicy and only has a strong garlic and curry flavor... Wow!! I think this will be the most unforgettable Korean restaurant Ive been to while living in Vancouver. I went to another restaurant next to Go, but it was closed, so I thought about going somewhere else, but I went to this restaurant because it was close, but it was a complete failure! But the female server was friendly! Anyway, it didnt suit our taste.
Authentic Korean hot stone soup restaurant, best Ive tasted outside of Korea. I found out this place has been around for a year, and am now beating myself up for not knowing about it sooner. God tier service, food and Korean decorations! Highly recommended, as a Korean person.
My absolute favorite korean restaurant in the lower mainland. Side dishes are home made and their sogogi sundubu is the best. Nothing comes close
First time going, this is the best restaurant. Ill go again. Thank you and fighting
Good Korean restaurant! Food was great! Service was quick. They also gave a free desert drink
Is there anyone in Coquisa who has been here at least once? Gatbaegi lets you eat Nokjinhantang cuisine in a neat setting. Yagurt after a meal seems like a science.
15 % tips for 6 people, food portion is so small, only 4 small pieces of thin beef in the main dish charged you $20 after tax and tips. never go there again.
Kid-friendliness: Kids loves Korean food. Food
Korean restaurant in a low key area. Very spacious dining area and ple ty of seating styles The hospitality was great and they offered a free yogurt drink at the end of our meal. They were also able to split the bill My party ordered the tteoboki, blood sausage and pork hock which sad plenty for 3 people to share servers also refilled our side dishes when asked and refilled our water/tea a few times too. I would come back here!
Been a long time since I had GopChang and this spot delivers such a phenomenal GopChang SoonDoBu. Loved it and the spice level is just perfect. If you are a fan of SoonDoBu or some authentic Korean dishes with great Korean beer (highly recommend Terra) - this is the place to be. Staffs were also very nice and attentive, the place is clean and neat, cozy with booth seats.
I dropped by this place with my wife for a quick supper. The place was very clean and the overall mood was good. I ordered Tofu with fried kimchi. My wife ordered her favorite - Sundae soup with rice. It was very good, but pricey. I guess all dining these days is very pricey while no salary has been increased. The servers were very kind and good. But I believe leaving guests alone is just fine because asking often can ruin the mood. I hope they dont follow the unnecessary tradition of western restaurants. All restaurants POS systems ask for a 15% tip as a minimum. I think this is a totally wrong culture.
