This restaurant is the best korean food in town. Tons of Bune Sik Style foods! Food was delicious and the place was kept nice and clean! Spicy rice cakes are all good! Kimbob is a giant size! Waitress are all nice! Will come back again!! Very popular and Gets busy sometimes need to do take out
delicious Kimbap!! you order from a tablet at the table now. I enjoy their broth that they serve for free from a tea pot!!
Price went up by a bit, thats for sure. But they introduced new item to the menu. Spicy pork kimbap and pork belly rice cake was quite decent. They also added electronic ordering on the table as well.
Everything was good. We had a beef kimbab and a seafood dok boki with cheese. We chose the mild version dok boki, which I found a bit sweet for my taste but it was tasty. I like that they give a soup vroth to drink with your order very nice for vancouver weather.
I have been to this place since 2007, and I feel the same taste as a regular customer. Cold noodle, 냉면 comes with the hot beef bone broth. It makes me feel warm. My go-to place to cool down in the summer. Easy ordered by kiosk. We ordered the tuna 김밥 with extra tuna, and served to our table in a minute. Bigger than regular size, and So flavourful!
I really like eating Korean food, and this restaurant provides traditional Korean soups. The rice cake pot is especially delicious. I have good memories with my friends here.
Super dope place for your authentic Korean fixin’. Awesome chilled atmosphere, attentive and friendly service staff and amazing food. Food was fresh and service was fast. We had all kinds of Kimbap and they were all good. Maybe stay away from the beef. The anchovies were the best one! Cold nudes was awesome and the rice dish was great! Highly recommended in the area!
Delicious and authentic kimbap, tastes exactly like the ones I used to have when I lived in S Korea. Ingredients are so fresh and generous. I love the beef kimbap a lot. They served hot broth on the side. Prices are reasonable. We had a good snack for under $20. Definitely check this place out. It’s the real deal!
We met up with a group of friends for dinner, but the shop staff were not attentive enough and arranged the seating arrangements poorly. As a result, my husband and I were seated far apart from the group of friends, and we were unable to communicate with our friends while eating throughout the entire dinner. Resulting in zero communication, a cold atmosphere, and very unpleasant and disappointing service in this restaurant! I will never visit this restaurant again!
Authentic Kimbab - one of the more affordable options out there. Everything else on the menu is standard & comparable to other korean restaurants. They offer free bone broth which is very yummy
Their cold noodles and tteokbokki were the best in Vancouver!
Not a fan of ordering from a tablet. The service was good. The food was good.
Food
Kimbab is the best. Revisit on November 2024, the taste is consistent and the service is so good. My favorite place to go and the price is reasonable!
I had their cheese tuna kimpbap and it was top tier. This will be my to-go place for kimbap. They also have great service there. I dropped my compass behind a chair and they tried so hard to get it out. Although it was unsuccessful, Im super grateful they tried to help. Ill for sure be coming back, everything smelled so good in there!! Thank you!!
Great price for a small meal. Small sitting room, but great food. Kimbap size is generous.
I can t find any other store which has both quality and budget friendly price at the same time. Gotta go again! And I like the soup which is taste like beef base one
It was nice ??
Lovely family Cheap and delicious and BIG PORTION the mom looks friendly and cute Food : 5/5
Kim Bab my beloved, the free broth is heavenly too.
Different type of Korean food. Good but a bit thirsty after for my taste
Very good Kimbap! And the broth they give you so good.
I went here today and I went to the washroom, and a guy who s cooking (he was young) didn t wash his hand and come out. I heard him flushing the toilet and the door opened right away. It s a restaurant Cleaning is the most important part. I visited today, and while I was waiting at the bathroom entrance, the door opened with the sound of water flushing, and it was the chef. How can a chef come out of the bathroom without washing his hands? As a cook, isnt hygiene important? It was a young man. I feel very uncomfortable.
Everything was good. The only thing that I was disappointed with was that the rice is too mushy..
Great food. Quick service. Casual atmosphere.
They installed cute tablets for you to do everything on your own. Bottomless appetizers and food is affordable! Not too busy when I went there.
I m very disappointed. I ve been here multiple times and I liked this place. But today I ordered Bulgogi Kimbap for pick up. First, at the counter, the staff was making a private call when I arrived and I had to wait till she finished her call. Fine no big deal. Then I brought Bulgogi Kimbap to my place and but after few bites, I chewed on something sharp and crunchy. I couldn t believe my eyes that I m seeing bunch of egg shells in the egg. If it was just one small piece of egg shell, I would ve just moved on. But this is over the line. How can the chef doesn t notice that he cooked the egg with this bunch of egg shells in it?? Seriously? I m now doubting this place s kitchen is clean and organized. I m never going back to this place.
Amazing kimbaps! Very well-priced and perfectly seasoned. Highly recommend trying it out. If youve never had kimbap before, start with the original or beef. Ive ordered this through delivery multiple times and comes well-packaged and fresh! Food
I experienced a different Korea. The variety of food and cost-effectiveness are also very good.
Great cold Noodle
Prices have doubled in 3 years. This place used to be unbeatable because of the value but now the prices are on par with other Korean resturants in the area. I would consider other food options before going to this place.
love the soup from this place. its always a little cramped and crowded, but personally, it was more nostalgic. Sundae is probably one of the best in greater vancouver
Oke lah common food...
I ordered Uber Eats, but they burned all the meat. But I also sprinkled seaweed powder on it to disguise the burnt color haha. I think I will die from cancer if I eat a lump of coal.
They used to serve really decent Korean snacks (bunsik), but the quality of food has been horribly degraded over the years while the price has gone up steeply! Everything, in general, now tastes too sweet as well. Very disappointed to say the least.
it is delicious
I made an in store pick up order on their website. Then noticed the food is cheaper in store than using their website when picking up. Would have been easier and cheaper to call and order than to spend time making an online order.
Love to go there with my family on a rainy cold days. They serve water and hot soup. They have very delicious Kim bab. I always order the rice dishes. My husband gets the dumplings and rice cake soup. All of their food is very delicious! The owner is very nice and friendly.
Reasonable food and price although nothing spectacular that would give you the will to come back often.
It was our first time and we went during Saturday lunch. Tables were full when we arrived but wait was not too long. I understand why people go to this place. Food is great (I loved the regular kimbap and rabokki), ordering was efficient and service was great. Highly recommended!
Love the kimchi and cheese Kim bam. The taste is good. However, the price rised 25% compared with a year ago.
good
We ordered the regular and tuna kimbap. Regular kimbap was alright, the rice to ingredients portion was kinda one sided. I was looking forward to the tuna kimbap, the amount of tuna in the roll was not as much as I hoped and it tasted pretty light and plain.
A place where you can have a light Korean breakfast!!
Busy. Nice staff. Medium hot is extra spice. Pork intestines dish was too chewy. No complimentary rice as other places. No half orders
There was sugar in the soup for sure. Never go there, worst experience ever. Most of the customers ordered cold noodles so might be the best option to order at this store. Don t go with topokki dishes(even Kimch was sweet) But for sure, Kimbab Cheonguk in South Korea tastes good. Ive been to several Korean restaurants, but this one was the worst. Spicy but sweet. I dont know what you mean. It s completely different from Korea s kimbap heaven. I will never go again and would not recommend it.
I didn t like this place: bibimbap was way too hot, and I wouldn t recommend the dish called al bap prepared at the place: combination of canned tuna with cheese isn t tasty at all
I ve come here a lot! I always order tteokbokki and kimbab! I love that you get a teapot of soup when you first enter and that you can pick the spicy level of the tteokbokki. It s the best tteokbokki in ktown in my opinion and I have tried it at many locations in the area! It is also the best value!
I go to this store often because the portions are plentiful and delicious!!
Solid Korean fast food. I love their tuna and cheese kimbab with spicy rice cake Also the bone broth is so good especially in the winter times. I highly recommend this place if you re looking for cheap, unhealthy, but delicious Korean fast food!
The tuna kimbab was good, but not super. For the price it s your best choice at this restaurant. The AL Bab was not good, the caviar has a fishy smell and doesn t go well with cheese, the whole meal is lack of flavour which makes that fishy smell kinda stand out more. For side dishes, they don t have the potato and kimchi, which are the two basic side dishes for any Korean restaurant. Instead they have a chopped tomato as side dish, I ve never seen that anywhere else:) that s so not Korean. Btw price has gone up compared to 6 months ago.
Good service, good food. The ramen is tasty and well priced. One of their beef stews seemed a little light on the beef, but we still enjoyed every bite.
Terrible customer service. Not keeping promises. I just shamelessly make excuses about being busy. Ill never go again
Try Korean rice rolls, a small restaurant with a very Korean atmosphere. The portions are just right, so you can taste a lot of dishes at one time. Both adults and children can enjoy their own taste.
I love this place! I used to order takeout from here all the time back when I lived in Coquitlam. Their prices have risen quite a bit since, but their rabokki and crab meat kimbap never fail to impress me. Highly recommended.
Delicious Korean dining spot specializing in Korean snacks and quick bites. Would recommend the tuna kimbap and beef kimbap.
It was just an ordinary kimbap restaurant, and the prices were really reasonable. I had no choice but to make an appointment, so I went there, but I dont think Ill go there again.
As a Korean, there are days when I occasionally crave gimbap. In the cold winter , the chill outside and the fatigue from the day melt away with a warm ramen broth , a roll of gimbap, and some kimchi. This simple combination has a comforting effect, as if its melting away the stress. Of course, while the quality is much better than gimbap from other restaurants, it can be quite bewildering to see gimbap (similar to Canadas Tim Hortons) that is easily accessible with a light wallet in Korea being perceived as an exotic premium, priced at around $10 in Canada.
Their Kimbap is really really good! We had the beef one with kimchi. The roll comes with some oil on top which made it smell really good. Kimchi is a bit spicy, but very tasty! We also order a grilled chicken with cheese and seafood with cheese(?) tbh, it was a mistake. We thought the seafood one is more like a hotpot or soup, but ends up both of them are similar dishes. They re tasty but it s just a bit too much for us. The menu is a bit hard to understand if you re not familiar with Korean food, but their staff are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back for more Kimbap!
Food are good, reasonable prices
We had soup, kimbap, ddukbokki, and few others. I would recommend you to consider this place more as a bunsik than a restaurant per se. Their bunsik menu were fabulous especially kimbap. It has been a while since I had kimbap like that. They used cabbage in ddukbokki. While I understand that it brings different flavour to the traditional, I think they missed the mark with it. Soups and other dishes were OK at best. Service was top notch. Bottom line - if you want a high quality, delicious kimbap, as the name says, it is kimbap cheonguk (heaven) afterall.
Bibim naengmyeon is more delicious than water naengmyeon Kimbap is not bad either.
We love coming here! Food is always great here and staff always smiling n awesome!
The staff is really friendly The kimbap was lukewarm and the ingredients were cold. The naengmyeon has good garnishes and is the Hamheung naengmyeon style. I was disappointed that the seasoning of the broth was too bland. I wonder if the food tasted bad because I visited early in the morning. I will visit again next time
Excellent little restaurant of popular Korean eats. Its reasonably priced and the food is fresh and delicious. This is a regular go-to for our family. The Kimbabs are the best! Parking: Plenty of parking but can be crowded and full at times especially because they share the lot with many other businesses.
delicious korean food and especially kimbab! i would definitely come back again
This is my favourite go to for kimbap! Its been a minute since Ive last been here, and this is the 1st sit down meal Ive had here. And it did not disappoint! Everything we ordered was delicious and the prices have remained fairly priced for the portion and taste u get for ur buck. My friend gave 5 star too and hes not an easy person to please.
Tasty affordable and great service.
Small and cozy! Food arrives quickly and takeout is a great option too! The food is consistent and delicious! Came here 3 times already :)
Recommended dishes
Kalguksu and kimbap were delicious! But the tteokbokki tastes like whale rice, perhaps because of the parsley flavor... It wasnt bad, but I dont think it goes well with it
Best kimbap in town! Since discovering this place every other kimbap weve had just doesnt compare. Eat in if you can, though their service is built takeout friendly.
Food is good. But really unprofessional waitress. Ordered online and the waitress said their website is not legit, then I ordered over the phone, for kimchi and she heard it as beef kimbap, double checked, Maybe triple checked with her saying its kimchi kimbap, not beef kimbap. But in the end, they still give me 2 beef kimbap.... Really disappointed, drove all the way for kimchi kimbap, and the waitress placed the wrong food! She is definitely not listening
Kimbap heaven~ It s delicious as is and there are a lot of people during lunch.
The server is very unfriendly. He speaks in an abusive tone and I think he will hit me if I make a mistake.
Reliable standby for the best Kimbap.
This is da spot for nengmyun
The service attitude is enthusiastic and the service girl is beautiful. The pork bone soup tastes first-class, better than that restaurant in Richmond. Korean cold noodles are not as delicious as the Korean noodles in Richmond. The crab rolls are delicious. Overall, I recommend you give it a try.
This place is practical and loved by locals for its quick service and delicious Korean comfort food in large portions. Probably the lowest prices in the area. They serve you beef and garlic broth as well as tea! Love the tuna kimbap (less than $10!) in particular, and I love the broth for their cold noodles ($10-20). Also they have early hours, so you can even have it for breakfast! Parking: Parking lot usually has space if its not a weekend.
Cold noodles, Albob
Food was delicious price is really good.its worth it to come and eat here every day.diffinitely recommended.
It is a very small location and not many people sat and ate while we were there. There were many take outs though. We tried the Albap and the Marketplace gukbap. I cant find albap anywhere so this is a nice change. I love Albap and they did it very well especially with the side sauce they give you. The gukbap didnt have much flavor as usual, but it is very packed with stuff in it. Oh and they serve hot broth instead of tea. I am a little disappointed I didnt try the kimbap. Their kimbap prices are cheap and they look big. I think they are most famous for that, given that their name is Kimbap heaven. They serve things that arent your usual Vancouver Korean restaurant style stuff, which I find is nice because sometimes I am sick of the usual. -edit May 2023- This time we tried the ramen nengmyeon. The ramen was so expensive for what it is. Other places have egg, fish cake etc in the ramen but this one didnt really have anything but the instant noodles. The nengmyeon was just ok. There are better ones out there for the same price
I am a traveler. I ate Korean food for the first time in 8 days thanks to an acquaintance. I think the beef tripe was more delicious than most places in Korea. In particular, the assorted sundae was very chewy, probably because it was put in makchang. It contains a lot of makgeolli. However, the interior was cramped and the chairs were wooden and had no backs, so it was a bit uncomfortable, but overall I was satisfied. Next time I come to Canada, I want to stop by another store.
I dont know why, but the taste of Tteokbokki has totally changed and become spicier than before. I dont think Ill eat it anymore in the future.
I want to order delivery, but the prices for food based on delivery are too high. $12 for kimbap..? Im really curious about the bosss mindset.
Get the tuna kimbap with cheese. You won t regret it.
You can try their Tuna Kimbab.
Its a okay place for kimbab.
Delicious food, good service, good price, even though it s a smaller restaurant but the turnaround is quick. Definitely recommend this place for gimbab and the gukbab is my fave! Parking: Parking is free. Access is slightly awkward off North road.
I love the food but service can be mediocre. My mom and I both enjoy spicy foods so we ordered spicy rice cake. Absolutely murdered us with how spicy it was haha. We loved it and definitely will come back for it when I crave spicy
Good fresh kimbab! Lots of protein content (tuna and beef) and generous portion size. The flavour is a bit on sweet side. I wish they had burdock one, which is my favorite Excellent service!
It tastes better than snack food in Korea. Especially delicious kimbap
I wanted to escape the heat from my house , but it s even hotter in the restaurant. What kind of restaurant doesn t have an AC in this weather!! The fans are no help as it just blows hot air
**warning! **No AC!!** Good food, good service but No AC! I almost got melted in the heat. I went there yesterday. Wow, it s this hot and the air conditioner doesn t work. Ive been eating and Ive been eating a lot of heat. Its my favorite restaurant, but I wont be going there again this summer.
It s quick and pretty good
I got the tuna kimbap, ra bok ki, and mul naeng myeon. All the dishes were very delicious! The cold noodles were refreshing and addicting. Portions were very generous! Ra bok ki was very spicy and flavorful. I would definitely come back to try their other dishes.
Our go to place for Kimbap! So good! The Kimbap is in the photo!! Food : 5/5
They have the best spicy cold noodles, and Kimball is pretty good.
Food
Very reasonable price and good food quality regarding amount & taste. I am very sure I will visit again.
Got food poisoning from eating the cold noodles
Left 10 cents for a tip by mistake. The owner kept demanding more tips even when we had already paid for the food, and when we gave her a 5 dollar bill, she snatched it and stuffed it in the tip jar, saying thank you very sarcastically. Neither the food nor the service was good enough to deserve 10 cents.
All the food is too salty and too sweet, and its a waste of money. Why is the kimbap seaweed rolled in salt-covered seaweed?
All foods are delicious and polite and nice staffs.
Me and my uni friend were walking around korea town and was looking for a good restaurant to dine in for! Then we saw this restaurant and went in to order stone pot rice pork and spicy cold noodle (bibim naeng myeon). Stone pot rice pork that i oredered came with rice, well cooked pork meat and some seaweed & gochujang sauce on top! All of the ingredients balanced out each other and gave me an amazing taste of harmony. My friend ordered spicy cold noodle and he also rly liked the food here! Especially the soup in the spicy cold noodle. The servers here were also very friendly and the price was very reasonable. This is def a go-to place with ur friends and family :) Parking: There is a parking lot right in front of the restaurant and its free!
I sometimes order radish and eat it, but I wish I had peeled the radish properly before eating it. You shouldnt put parts in food that people cant eat.
Make it spicy! Korean food is spicy. No cheese in the fish roe rice in stone pot...ahl-bap does not have cheese in it. It didnt when I ate it in Korea. The dish is great - like many of the dishes on the menu - but make them spicy. And no cheese in the good stuff!
Kimbab is great. Bimbimbap tastes awful and lack of veggies. The service is mediocre to say the best. Lack of flexibility if you want to make little customization like change the noodle into rice cake. The environment is acceptable but not ideal for any formal purpose.
Food
Parking: Good Food
Although there is no beautiful decoration, there is a feeling of local Korean characteristics when entering the store. The food is full of Korean characteristics. I see that most of the customers are Koreans.
Be ready for a wait if dining in. It s worth the wait for my favorite cold noodle. Very generous portions. Their complimentary beef broth is so addictive.
Good parking place. We ordered Korean traditional Gim Bab and Mool Naeng Myeon. Fresh and Delicious Good serving & economy price. Parking: Good Kid-friendliness: Good
Excellent
Amazing food! The soup broth they serve with your meal alone makes it worth coming back!
The Kimbab definitely worth a try! However, I tried the Budae Jjigae for my first time and it seems too sweet for me personally. if less sugar added, it will be amazing.
Good portion with decent spicy flavors and affordable price. Friendly services and homey environment. Recommended if you visit Coquitlam and want some Korean snacks.
Very good kimbap and reasonably priced
What a price for the taste! So affordable. We added kimchi in tuna gimbab and cheese in beef. Beef gimbab was a bit disappointing (i wish they used sliced beef instead of minced. They fall off every time you pick up), but the price is still unbeatable.
Authentic Korean cuisine with decent prices and good quality.
Tried a couple of their Kimbab and their Ddock-Bok Ki and we were very pleased! Their Kimbab on its own is a decent size and quite filling, and the Ddock-Bok Ki was delicious, and not as spicy as some other places. They also have a complimentary soup that was simple and very good!
Affordable food with sizeable portions. The tuna kimbap and beef kimbap was huge! My favourite was the beef. The cold noodles was lacking something. The Korean sausage with pork rice and noodle was soft and chewy, I personally prefer it harder. My favourite thing was the bone broth that each table got - that s something I ll be coming back for! Overall, good portions and good price makes this a nice comfort food spot. Edit: Got take out a few weeks later and still as good as dining in!
Best naengmyun (cold noodles) I ve had in a long time. Portion is huge and it tastes so authentic and comforting. I brought my parents here the next day and they loved it so much they want to make it a regular spot when we re in town. The kimbap and kalguksu are both delicious as well. Will definitely be back.
Goooodd!!! Hot broth very nice But stone pot rice is so sweet to me Food : 5/5
Opens a little bit later than it states and theres a very limited menu you can get in the morning but that menu is surprisingly delicious!! Update for Dec 2019: Opens right at 9 am - whenever we come to Vancouver, we eat our breakfast here every morning! The owner is so kind and nice. Foods are still very delicious!! Will definitely be back next time were in the city.
Service is great and if you dine in, you get complimentary bone broth. Food is reasonably priced and delicious.
The girl who served food today is very nice and I appreciate the way she communicates with me and recommends food.
One of my favourite dinning place
Good !!!
It s a go to dinner place for me when I am craving some Ramen and kimbab. Great place to sit and chill with your friends as you dine. It s a hidden gem in lougheed. Food
I had a fantastic experience at Kimbab Cheonguk, a delightful Korean restaurant! I highly recommend trying their Tuna and Beef Kim Bab theyre simply delicious. The Mul Naeng Myeon was awesome and provided a refreshing taste. What I love most is the complimentary bone broth soup they offer. I often get Kim Bab for takeout from here and enjoy picnics at the park.
Was yummy and spicy
Its very dirty. You touch the vegetables with your bare hands. Its not hygienic.
Usually, I order kimbap and wait a few minutes. This time, I served it right away and found out that the rice was not cold, but just refrigerated rice. When I went in and told them, they gave it back to me right away, but I dont understand this - how can they say it was made just now, but that it was made in 1 minute... I wonder if someone gave it to me in advance - but it was also completely refrigerated rice - the staffs attitude was also unpleasant... they took the rice out of the refrigerator and used it. Do you check the ingredients and make kimbap?
All the food is very delicious and the staff have a great atmosphere.
A small little Korean joint with great kimbap, stews, ramen, rice cakes, and cold noodles. Inexpensive and large portions!
Bean sprout soup is spicy and plentiful!
go to spot for comfort food. amazing prices, amazing service. live 45 min away and will come here if craving hot food when weather is cold. got regular and kimchi kimbap. SO GOOD SO YUMMY. ramen very delicious. AND INCLUDES BONE BROTH SOUP, RADISH AND KIMCHI RADISH.
After finishing the Las Vegas and Banff tour, I came here for the last meal before heading to Seattle. I ate market soup and kimbap at the guides recommendation, and they were very delicious. The portions are generous and the quality of the ingredients is excellent. Its even better because I was satisfied with my last meal in Canada. Thank you (there is a lot so we will package it)
Reliably good.
After eating happily, I came out and paid the bill. When asked if I was Korean, I answered yes. I am a foreign student. I said. But then I was left speechless when I said, Ah, no one gave me a tip. In fact, from the first time he said he would pay in cash, his expression got worse and reached a peak. I put all the coins in my hand and came out, but it was really shocking that he didnt even pay attention and said nothing at all. Also, no matter how many times I pressed the staff call button, no one came, and only after I made a hand gesture did they come. If thats the case, why did you create a staff call button? A tip is something you give as a thank you when a customer is satisfied, but would you want to give a tip after being treated like that? Shame on you. It is truly absurd that a person who is old enough and would be angry if his or her own child was treated like that would live and do business like that. Treat yourself normally and expect to get a tip.
All the food was delicious. But I wish the tteokbokki was a little less sweet. I think it would be good. But the price has gone up a little? All the staff were friendly and it was a pleasant meal. Especially the music, it s good because they play a lot of the latest Korean songs~
stone pot meat No taste. When I told him that the meat was not seasoned, he said that originally, Dolsot Jeyuk is meant to be eaten with sauce. Then, why eat Jeyuk instead of Dolsot Bibimbap? Tuna Gimbap Angko is poor. I heard the price will go up to $10 per line, but its not as good as it used to be. The servers are friendly.
Food was delicious , people are nice .
Kimbap is very good here.
Kimbab is what makes this place unique
