*Updated review from 5 star down to 1* I used to come here all the time - and it was good, great even, ever single time. Now I would say the last 5-10 times I havent went, it has been way way worse. Maybe around a year ago now I first noticed it? Heck there is a Reddit Coquitlam Thread with tons of people saying the same thing - that this place went from the best to the worst in a year or so. Either way, the quality here has dropped way down. They have gotten really cheap about sauces and stuff - no longer have their garlic sauce free. (They used to include one with every pizza + have it free in store, now neither.) The toppings are far less plentiful - and the meats have noticably dropped in quality as well. Honestly - just go to Pizza Garden at Lougheed Mall, its under the same corporate ownership with the same menu - but that franchise owner seems to actually care and still make good food. Costs less, tastes better, and they give you free dip. Why order from La Ruota to get the exact same menu options for more money and worse quality. **** Original review below*** Unreal how good Deli Italiano is. It has changed my life. Updating my review as weve had a couple disappointing experiences recently. We ordered 2 pizzas last night and unfortunately everyone in the family ended up getting sick. Im not sure what has changed as we used to love this place but the last 2 times weve ordered it hasnt been great.

They have their own app now which allows you to order so its ready when you arrive. The by the slice is great, so many different pizza options to try and enjoy. They have cold drinks and dips available. Small seating area to eat in or can take it to go. There is ample parking in the underground in the building if you cant find parking out front.

I loved this pizzeria until they hired lazy workers who close the place 35 minutes before closing time. I specially came here knowing that they work until 10.00pm. I was told that the kitchen was already closed at about 9.30. Im not so interested in their apologies. If I had known this attitude towards clients, I would not have advised anyone. If someone knows where there is a pizzeria better please write. Im not coming back here anymore

I like Italian pizza from La Ruota

La routa delivers most of the time I allways go for the honey pep which is the best by far Dont forget to add their garlic sauce We used to get the bulgogi but they dont make it as good as before missing toppings etc But still one of the best options in the tri city area

Best service in town. There is a guy that works there (wears glasses) I think he s the manager and he is literally the best, Most welcoming and nicest. The is the best in the city! We love it, the kids love it, and everyone loves it.

Authentic Italian Pizza

Thin Thin Thin Pizza . Somebody said it was a Crepe with pizza toppings and I would have to agree. I understand it s the type of pizza and that s how the style is, but for that price you definitely need to be either offering more toppings or an additional slice of pizza. The flavour of the pie was fine and the toppings seemed fresh, but again at the price point it cannot be justified.

La Ruota Pizzeria in Coquitlam is a must-visit for pizza lovers! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a rustic Italian vibe that makes you feel like youre in the heart of Naples. But its the pizza thats the real star of the show - the crust is perfectly crispy, the sauce is rich and flavorful, and the toppings are fresh and generous. All in all, it was a delightful experience. They excel in crafting delicious pizzas and providing friendly service. While theres room for improvement in food presentation, the overall atmosphere makes it a place worth returning to.

I m a huge fan of these pizzas, I knew La Ruota because of the Cambie one. Coquitlam location is closer to me so now I constantly go here. I ve visited every Ruota in Metro Vancouver area. This location is the first one that limit the sauce consume. Even in Kistilano they have the sauces outside so everyone feel free to serve themselves. As well, not happy in the service that I received from one of the staff when she yelled at me HEY, we can t give you more sauces after I kindly requested Hot Sauce explaining myself that in other locations it wasn t limited. Usually the customer service was good, I was happy of going there, until this person attended me.

We ordered pizza from La Ruota for our volunteers participating in a large service project we coordinated. The quality and variety of their pizza is top notch. The food was loved by everyone at our event. Thanks La Ruota!

Been going here for over two years, so a review seems appropriate. I love the staff, everyone has always been friendly and welcoming. Overall, the prices are a bit on the steeper side for the pizza in my opinion but they have been a solid go to on busy days. Also, the happy hour deal is great if you can get there by 6pm

I just ordered 4 different slices and went to pick them up, when I wanted to eat, realized they put 4 slides top of each others in on small box and all of them were super cold and not fresh materials, and also expensive though! If I wanted have a frozen meal i had in my freezer and was better that this pizza! Im so disappointed to order from them We couldnt eat that pizza . Definitely dont recommend this place to anyone

Took advantage of the Mon-Wed special 2nd pizza 50% off. We had Funghi Alfredo and Pizza Magic. Both were very good, crust thin and a fair amount of toppings. I like extra cheese on Neopolitan pizzas, but didnt need it on the Fungji. I would order it if I got the Pizza Magic again. Our 2 family members were happy with their meat pizzas. Parking is not easy in this area. If weather allows, I would park at Coquitlam centre and walk to High St. Online ordering is convenient, option to pay online or in person. They texted me when the order was ready.

The combination of Fior di Latte, Grana Padano, honey, and fresh basil with perfectly cooked pepperoni made every bite heavenly. The sweet flavors blended so well, creating a pizza masterpiece. The price was totally worth the tasty delight. Quick delivery right to my door was the cherry on top! Cant wait to order again and explore more delicious options. Value and price dont match. Way too thin for what its worth. Would feel better paying these prices if everything was organic/non gmo, but still would want thicker pizza. Any 5 star rating seems like the owner bribed them. Nice Coquitlam shop acting like West Vancouver. Serving store profits instead of giving the customer the value of what theyre paying for.

Great service, prices and quality

We came across this place by chance as we happened to be in the neighborhood and did a quick Google for Italian pizzeria. We arrived close to their closing time but they were happy to accommodate. The space is primarily for takeout but they do have seating and the staff are super friendly. The fresh to order pizzas took only minutes to prepare, the toppings were delicious, and the crust was perfect! I would happily visit again.

We order from the pizzeria regularly through Skip for delivery. Weve tried so many different ones and have loved all we have tried. The margherita is one of our favorites!

Ordered 3 pizzas and was told it would be a 20 minute wait (more like 30) after waiting and only receiving 2 of them we were told it must have been a system issue and we werent charged for the missing one and if we wanted it we would have to wait all over again + they d charge us full price for it.. i needed 3 so i had no choice but to wait. I just feel like the appropriate customer service response would be to at least give us a discount for having to wait almost an hour in total for 3 pizzas. No disrespect to the workers they were great but I was a little frustrated with the mistake taking SO long that by the time we got home the first two pizzas we got were cold.

DO NOT GO HERE! unfortunately the only good thing is that the crust is very nice! But not any nicer that other stone baked pizza places. I just spoke to a man for nearly 15 minutes because the last time we ordered a pizza, it was wrong. My husband went to pick it up and unfortunately it was cold and wrong but he didn t check it. I called them and the lady at the time was very apologetic and made it out that we were going to get a free pizza on the next order or a free half as we ordered a half and half. Unfortunately I should have taken the pizza back and got a new one as on the next order, my request was returned with a $2 dollar discount. I explained my frustration to the man, for his reply of saying sorry nothing I can do. When the pizza is $37 I do not expect a compensation like this! Never going there again.

We moved to Coquitlam ten years ago and were very excited when we found La Ruota. The pizzas are great....when and if you get them finally. I just ordered and over an hour later was told they left and then almost a half hour later called back again and he said that they were leaving....lied....not good. Will never order from then again....do not trust.

Wish there was such a thing as negative or minus stars on here. Absolutely appalling disgusting doughy cold gross pizza my moms and mine four slices were put in the oven to warm up but dunno what that was the guy gave back to us !! So so disgusting and ice cold pizza! No flavour, not cooked, doughy not pizza! The only good thing about our meal was my root beer and my moms beer that were both ice cold and refreshing. And we werent the only ones that complained. When my mom went to give feedback the guy just snapped at her and said well you couldve came back and asked me to heat it up for you my mom replied with thats what was supposed to have happened in the first place ??? He didnt even care and was rather rude. Definitely do not recommend this pizza place and would suggest you go anywhere else that actually knows how to cook and make authentic Neapolitan pizza cus this place shouldnt be making those claims! -stars if I could! Will never return here!

Ive ordered La Ruota many times and am always satisfied. I recently tried their Bulgogi Pizza and was impressed by the amazing taste. The combination of savoury bulgogi beef and traditional pizza toppings on a thin and airy crust is simply phenomenal. What sets this restaurant apart is the attention to detail. Its obvious that a lot of care and thought goes into each and every pizza. Overall, I highly recommend giving La Ruotas pizza a try. If youre looking for a new flavour to try, go Bulgogi. Whether youre a fan of traditional pizzas or love trying new and creative flavours, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Worse pizza ever. Tried a couple of times, but every time is a disappointment. One we got was completely burned, the second one was a wrong order and today we got one with a LOT of Pepper with nothing saying it would be spicy. Half of the pizza going to garbage again because we cant eat it.

I have been getting pitza from La Ruota couple times, the taste of pitza is ok pretty average However the thing really bother and annoying is the way they managing the business. Unfortunetly everytime they get busy the manager and employee get confuse and messed up. One time they sent a wrong order to us after like an hour and the second time we decided to pick the order from store and they were busy and forget to make one our pitza and eventully one of the employee gave me a cold pitza and he lied to me becuse he claimed it is fresh one. Additionally , today i order 2 large pitza and unfortunetly once i did the order after 20min they called me we donot have one of your order on the other hand they cooked one of them so one pitza was ready the other one was on hold becuz they didnot have it so we decided to change the order which was cheaper(the price diffrence didnot refund), as a result we end up with one fresh pitza and one unfresh one becuz they are not professional enough to understand once someone order 2 large , the person expect to get both fresh and they need to cook at the same time and not put the pitza in warmer for 35 min while the other one cooking in the oven. Additionally , they cannot even cook and making pitza with the always same quality for example we got pitza Called Carne Piccante and that pitza every time came with diffrent quality so the pitza cook cannot understand how to make the same recipe everytime. Hopefully the manager and business owner read this review and consider it as tip to improve themselves and stop offering a 1$ coke to the customer who spending 50$ on pitza as promotion. Iam not gonna get pitza from this store again because i expect the decent quality from this prices pitza. I attached the photo of the last Carne picante that i recived and it is not even close to human food. Oneside had parsly the other side hadnot , oneside had a peper the other side nothing and they had a great excuse once i complaint , They told me , We were very busy . Iam wondering if you cannot keep up once you are busy just close the store or put limitation on your daily order. This is not even excuse

Used to be great. A separate pick up counter for Uber eats would save the business of the people who want to come in and support you. Waited 10 minutes for someone to help while watching our pizza get cold in the Uber eats pile. Got home to the wrong pizza.

I ordered two pizzas from the Coquitlam location. The pizza came 2 hours late. However, the next morning the whole family proceeded to have food poisoning. Something mustve been off with the Spicy Chicken or Pizza Magic ingredients. The pizza itself tasted fine but the subsequent vomiting was very concerning. This easily puts La Ruota on our never again list. Sorry.

Their pizza is a thin chewy (sourdough?) crust. I personally love it. Ive had both their pepperonis (the mini pep with basil has honey), mushroom, beef, and veggie and they were all good. Been here a few times and finally came after work to find out theres a 2 slice and pint special for 15$ after tax & tip. If youre ordering an entire pizza make sure you look at their paper menu as the wall board is out of date! Lots more options now. Parking: Easiest to park in the mall parking a block and a half away.

Staff, pizza and environment are awesome

Delicious wood oven pizza! What more can I say. The family owned restaurant was full and for a yummy reason. The wine and prosecco mixed drinks were great additions to the food. I came early and was able to get a spot at the bar to order food. The parking lot is tight and it may be better just to park on the side street by the gas station.

Asked for a plain cheese pizza over the phone, not 4 cheese. They put blue cheese on it (gorgonzola) and ruined our dinner. They should be more clear and communicate better.

Too sharp, no water!

Ordered over the phone, showed up 15 minutes later, and they claimed they never received any order. We replaced the order, received massive attitude from the staff about making 1 pizza and 1 salad even though they didn t close for 45 more minutes. Very disappointed with their customer service. While waiting for the pizza was glared at by all the employees. Like honestly? Luckily that the pizza is good and we will still come back again, but wow this experience was absolutely terrible!

HowwwwwEver 1) called to order (takeaway) pizza, staff confirmed my pizzas details only (without a size and seeing the base size online i assumed it would be the regular size at approx 28$). 2) no name taken, no payment taken, no ohone number taken. Staff hung up phone call. 3) google maps gave incorrect location of address...not their fault but staff told me not uncommon (sooooo contact google to change/correct!!!) 4) pizza was on cold counter (& not in a thicker thermo box for takeaway), was already half cold, but was done on time 5) pizza was the gigantic 18 not what i wanted... and now over 35$..... must be a slow weekend for them to auto fit me with a huge pizza .... ...yet telling me that half n half pizzas not possible in 14 sizing - not explained on phone.) 6) pizza slices were a ridiculous size ! Clearly if i didnt pick up they could resell at counter slice pieces.... sooo not appropriate as a portion size. Crust, was not ideal. Pizza was totally cold upon getting to my location ... & zer0 reheating instructions provided for this gourmet pizza!! not that Id want to reheat it, but.... We ate cold pizza therefore. Waste of money!

We were very disappointed and do not recommend this pizza place. We ordered for delivery and both pizzas were nearly cold upon arrival. The Large Smoked Salmon was almost inedible. The crust was so thin you could hold it up and see through it - some pieces had holes from how thin it was. It was crunchy, tough and overcooked. There was almost no sauce on it as well; it tasted like we were eating dry bread and super salty salty salmon. The Carne Piccantes was a bit better (atleast it had some sauce), but still so crunchy and poor topping amounts - there were literally 3 jalapeños on the whole pizza. We understand it can get busy and mistakes happen, but its so disappointing to spend $50 on 2 pizzas that we did not even finish. We emailed over a week ago and never got a response. Weve enjoyed your pizzas many times in the past but dont think we will be going here again.

Amazing pizza. The cauliflower crust wasnt my favorite, a little soggy but that is to be expected because its not wheat based dough. The regular pizzas were delicious (or so everyone else told me) and my 13 old that doesnt really like pizza ate 1/2 of a 12! The Ruchetta and the Deli were the favorites.

Utterly. Phenomenal. Pizza. Our daughter ordered a dozen pizzas from La Ruota for her wedding over the weekend. We d never had pizza from this place before. Let me tell you we were missing out. Each type of pizza was delicious, but our favourite by far is the whiskey chicken pizza. So good! We ll be getting this pizza again soon. You should, too!

Just imagine biting into this.. 14 honey basil pepperoni pizza. The freshness of the pizza dough is chefs kiss, sauce and cheese has great flavor. Would definitely love more than 1 leaf of basil per slice at least but the sweetness of the honey drizzle takes it over the top. MUST TRY! $25 ish before tip

Had a horrible experience at this location. We ordered chicken wings which the menu clearly says come with a garlic dip. However, when asked for it the cashier refused to give it to us and said you want everything for free...she was very rude to us and no restaurant can survive with this kind of customer service...never had such an experience at any other restaurant

For a drop in sidewalk place the atmosphere with the smell of pizza wafting everywhere is spot on. The prices are just right for the location. Please please dont change that for anything other than normal supply or staff pressures. Highly recommended.

It does not look like pizza that I order ,the guy that works in a kitchen was giggling and said it s a sausage and it looks the way it should . .I have been a loyal customer of this place for at least 8 years and have been ordering this pizza before all the time ,so I know how it should look like ,the worst experience ever .I did not ask for charity there and not ask for free stuff ,for my money I want to have a respect and quality products .It s not me who should be asking to make another pizza ,people that have made that mess should have apologize and offer to make a new one .Instead cook was arrogant and disrespectful, therefore I wil never step there again . PS : they spilled 2 different sauces again , on new pizza ,it was not that much this time but still . Pictures attached

Very friendly and professional customer service, delicious and great pizza.

Ordered deliver, pesto pizza and Caesar salad. Pizza was out of this world, crusts amazing, cheese so good. Caesar could have used more dressing but otherwise good. Had a lovely night with ,y girlfriend at her house while we ate. Moved the couches around and installed tv stand. Her place is really coming together. She is so lovely our relationship is really blooming.

By far undoubtedly the best pizza in town.

Volume conscious, Saturday needs more smooth attendance at front. By the slice was a bit old. The bottom is not typically crispy, borderline with char, and awkward to eat as the slice does not stand. I hope to enjoy this as I do other pizza garden locations or when it first opened. Maybe offer dip or oiled crust to combat dryness during reheating.

Update your opening hours in Google. Very disappointing. We came all the way here and you are actually closed on Tuesday at 11 AM but Google says you re open.

Best pizza ever

I recently visited La Ruota Coquitlam with high expectations, but unfortunately, I was left quite disappointed due to the excessive wait time and misleading information about my order. Soon after placing my order, I was informed that my pizza was in the oven, which initially sounded great. However, as minutes turned into half an hour, my patience started to wear thin. The raw pizza went into the oven only a mere 3 minutes before it was finally served to me. I have tight schedule this night and you guys total screwed it up!

What can I say? Whenever we want pizza, we make the 15 min drive over there. Its just really good! Neapolitan pizza that doesnt have an uncooked taste/texture, price is reasonable, flavors are great, and service is even better
