Ramen restaurant
I have gotten consistently amazing food and very personable and engaging service from the staff here. They you for giving your kind attention through your hospitable and pleasant energy! The ramen lineup here is likely one of the best. The place’s ambience is a bit fast-foody, but they don’t lack in quality of food and effort in service! A gem in Coquitlam 😊😊😊
We had a good time here, broth was rich and delicious. Service was quick and efficient as you would expect. Served was attentive and courteous!
Really tasty. Got the Chicken Katsu U.B.B and the broth was so flavourful. One of the best Ramen places in Coquitlam hands down. Would definitely recommend!
I came alone. there were maybe 4 tables with people seated and already eating. One other guest came after me. It took forever them to ask for my order. They got the other table before i did. They never checked up on me after placing my food after me. They were not attentive. Food was okay. Wasn’t amazed by it though. Will not be returning. Overall atmosphere was clean and calming. I personally will not be returning.
We came here with our preschooler on a Thursday night at 6pm and was seated immediately. The service was great and quick in response when we raised our hand when we needed anything. They brought the kids utensils, scissors, bowl and cup right away. I ordered the U. B. B. extra to share with my preschooler. Rich, flavourful, and creamy broth which I found a bit too salty for my liking. I was able to finish the end of the broth with the extra bowl of free rice. My husband doesn't finish the broth whenever we have ramen so it seemed a shame to dump it. We were able to get a to-go container for his remaining broth. They also have an universal washroom for handicap and any gender so it was easier for my preschooler to reach the sink to wash her hands or go with my husband instead. We'd recommend this place for families for sure!
The only branch that offers the U.B.B extra Ramen. Simple and straightforward food that is well prepared and amazingly delicious! The Curry on rice meal is a must try!
Our first visit to this ramen noodle restaurant with the family was delightful! The atmosphere is spacious and welcoming, and even though we had to wait briefly, it was only about 5 minutes, which was very acceptable. The service was excellent, with the staff bringing out kids' utensils right away, which we appreciated. The highlight of the meal was definitely the noodle soup. The broth was creamy with a distinct bonito fish flavor, making it a unique take on our ramen. We've never experienced a creamy base with shoyu before, so it was quite interesting. Their Gomae was quite tasty. Instead of using spinach and peanut sauce, they used Choy Sum with sesame paste sauce. The only minor drawback was the soft-boiled egg, which was slightly overcooked. Overall, the service was up to par and we had a great experience. We'll definitely be back to try more of their dishes!" the family was delightful! Delicious ramen with splendid, rich and creamy broth. Tried the black tan tan men which came with a bowl of rice and the flavours were great. The black sesame ground pork was both sweet and salty and went very well with the rice. The U.B.B. Extra ramen came with thick noodles that had great texture and the broth was so rich and complex. The service was great and the place was clean. Solid and satisfying ramen place. There are also complimentary sesame seed and chili powder toppings on each table.
I was there last week on a busy Saturday evening and although it was a full house, the service was excellent. The servers were attentive and very efficient and friendly. Weve been there a number of times on the weekend and only had great experiences with the friendly service and good food. I would highly recommend the UBB ramen as they give you extra free rice to go with it. For those of you who complain about the small amount of rice you get, be real...its complimentary with your ramen. Stop complaining about free food!!!
Delicious, even both my kids enjoyed it.
Can not believe I found a fly in my ramen broth. It was a horrible experience.
They are excellent and makes you feel like a VIP. Good food and excellent services. Strongly recommend to this restaurant.
Please return shoyu ramen in the menu! The only one I loved here and it was removed Or at least give an option to add soya flavor to the original ramen. So sad Food
It was my first time trying ramen; I tried chicken katsu UBB, and loved the taste. Recommended!
It s truly amazing that we live in the time one doesn t have to actually go to Japan to feel like in Japan. Food was great, umami is overwhelming, fair pricing. I would only suggest adding some deserts to the menu. Thank you very much.
Not bad Chinese style ramen
Great ramen and Katsu. Good staff and service
I had the curry ramen, and it was very good, but definitely not what im looking for when i want ramen. Heavy heavy curry flavor. My girlfriend had the cah-shu and said it was ok. I like the place and will come back, but only if i am craving curry ramen, otherwise Ill have a more standard ramen somewhere else.
So spacious.
This Maruhachi (Marutama) is always consistent with the quality of food, service, and cleanliness. Better in every way than branches in bby, downtown, and east vancouver.
House made fresh noodle, welcoming servers and very clean tables and chairs(They have dirty/clean sign on each table. After they clean each table, they put green? clean sign to make sure.), broth was creamy and dense. I didnt taste any MSG in it. You can modify to cook your noodle from hard to soft. Spicy option for soup. I normally had spicy sauce on the side, so I can adjust the spicy level by myself. Portion was good for basic under $15 with every ingredient made from scratch at the store, I would not have a complaint. My favorite is Tan man- You can take fresh sauteed variable vegetables on top of your noodle. The cha-shu (meat)could be improved though. If they can use different part of the pork(other than pork shoulder) or chicken breast meats and make it softer and serve warmer without any red meat parts, they would make the Viola bowl of ramen :)
Im OG marutama fan and I love this location! I used to eat at the one by Robson but the ambiance and quality of this location so good now this is my new fave location. Portion is good. Tamago Ramen is My go-to but this location offers different style of Ramen as well.
Yum - would return. Much more spacious than ramen joints downtown. Tastily done pork slices and broth - wish there was more seaweed with the dish though as I feel the Robson location is substantially more generous with the seaweed (or maybe they offer a more seaweed heavy ramen option on the menu)? Be aware the hot sauce is quite spicy (coming from someone who eats very hot food). A bit disappointing that the fried garlic is now charged for, as at the Robson location it was complimentarily offered in a shaker at my last visit, so dont know if this is a franchise-based decision.
It s the best ramen I ever tried. Thanks Eddie!
The vegan ramen was so delicious! My girlfriend also loved the rice and pork dish she had, the lu rou fan I believe it was called. The service was also great despite it being a super busy time. Overall an excellent experience, and we cant wait to go back! Vegetarian options: I believe there was only one veggie/vegan option for a main dish, but it was great!
Very friendly staff especially Eddie.. Can you please bring back the Black Tantamen...
Love this place! Its nice and spacious, the service is good and their ramen is constantly delicious Kid-friendliness: They little bows for kids as well as silverware and provide small scissors to cut the noodles
Yummy!!
One of the better ramen spots. Really quick service and nice staff
Excellent ramen and great staff.
Probably the best ramen in the Tri Cities... service is excellent, plus its clean and well located. My wife, daughter and I each had a different broth type, and unlike most places, that add different toppings to the same broth, each of these tasted quite different. Deliciously so! That day we were all so hungry I forgot to photograph the platters... But do not worry, they look as good as they taste! This will definitely be my new go-to ramen when in Coquitlam... Nicely done! Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options
A delicious Ramin restaurant in Coquitlam. I enjoyed my order. This is a clean restaurant and has fast service.
Very average ramen, all soup is chicken flavour, noodles are thin, Chinese owner. Will not return - too many other shops better than this. Food
I had the black one and it was tasty but I felt in needs salt. I tried adding the transparent salty sauce but didn t notice a difference. Also I would love to see more pork bone broth ramen options. I love the fact that they have a bunch of side dishes.
Vegetarian curry ramen was really good.
Lovely place if you are looking for thicker, rich broth, perfect for when you are craving ramen. You can order extra noodles so save some broth if you are hungry.
Server Eddy was super nice and served us extra karage for my birthday!
Delicious food, phenomenal service.
came here for a birthday dinner with friends, the food was wonderful and the server Eddie went above and beyond to accommodate us
I went earlier in the day with my friend around 6:30 pm and it was really busy, (almost packed) thankfully we got seated right away though. Our server, dont know her name but she looked young, was super smiley (and gorgeous ) took our orders and made sure everything was tasting good. The food was delicious, we ordered the Chashu Tamago Ramen and the flavors just exploded in my mouth. Will definitely be coming back! And i hope to see the same server again
Ive been to two different units, one in Vancouver and one in Coquitlam, the service is just perfect in both units. The food is great! They serve it very fast and everything is fresh!
My partner and I relocated to Coquitlam in January, and since then, weve been frequenting this place twice a month because their broth is simply unmatched. Were also big fans of the friendly and efficient staff. My go-to order is the shoyu ramen, especially when paired with their deliciously salty sauce on the side it takes the ramen to a whole new level of flavor.
Ramen was decent but the quality was definitely better years ago (at the Vancouver location). Missed when they used to provide free fried garlic. Still recommend for anyone who wants to try chicken broth ramen.
The service was excellent and the space is open and clean. The ramen was tasty of course.
Great ramen but they don t have a phone number, they don t seem to do deliveries and there is no parking. So as much as I want their ramen this location is not great.
We live for this Ramen, best ramen in town for sure
3rd time I have visited this location, food is amazing, great customer service. I dont live close but when in area love it there Kid-friendliness: Kids love food, an no problem if they need to share.
Not my likely type of ramen but not bad overall
We consider ourselves Ramen hunters and have tried some amazing bowls in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and many other parts of the world. I must say, we really enjoy a good bowl of Ramen at this location (Tanmen, Aka, Tonkotsu and Shoyu) - One of the few places that allows you to control the sodium levels (this is a game changer) in addition to modifying add-ons like extra vegetables, Chashu , spice levels, broth richness, etc. In addition, the service is top both at the Coquitlam store especially since Eddie is there personally catering to customers in his sweet and courteous manner. Their broth has amazing Umami and tons of depth, plus their noodles are always cooked with a little bite which keeps them for getting soggy (slow eaters this is for you) - Kaedama time. Also a must try are their smoky edamame (I want to capture that flavour as a cologne), pumpkin croquettes and fried chicken (killer). A must try as Maruhachi is very non-intimidating for beginner Ramen-eers (yes, I coined that), yet satisfies the Ramen aficionados alike. Dietary restrictions: They happily switch noodles for rice to Take any of their bowls gluten free
Had an amazing bowl of chasu tamago ramen at Maruhachi recently, and I cant recommend it enough! The flavors in that bowl are something else rich, comforting broth, perfectly tender chasu, and the tamago was just the right level of runny. Youve got to try it with the garlic chips on top; it elevates the whole experience. And a shoutout to Eddy, our waiter, who was super nice and friendly. He made our dining experience even better with his great service. If youre a ramen enthusiast, you need to check this place out!
Broth in the noodles is too salty and unnatural. Feels like a lot of artificial stuff in the broth. Noodles feel raw and not cooked enough. No beef available. Not much choice on the menu. Not my favourite! Parking: Else where.
Since discovering Maruhachi a month ago, weve come back 3 times. We havent been able to find a place near the tricities with great Ramen until now. I always get the black tan tan, but everything weve tried has been great. Eddie (who I think might be the manager) always goes above and beyond to make sure we have the best customer experience and yesterday we had the pleasure of getting incredible service from Shino. But everyone who works here always gives it their all. Thanks for being awesome folks!
Quiet evening on a Sunday night provided us unparalleled levels of service. Great evening, thank you Maruhachi for making my daughters b-day celebration amazing. Parking: They have a lot but the gate wasnt working at the time. The staff said they were going to look into it (and we believed them because they were so enthusiastic about us finding parking easily).
Modern take on traditional flavours. A good destination for I want to be surprised ramen.
Had a good bowl of rich creamy ramen that was very filling. I should have asked for thinner noodles since I wasnt able to finish it. They also had a happy hour menu so we got a few appetizers. Servers are very friendly, checks up on us from time to time with a big smile. Theres usually a lineup on the door, but that time we got seated right away!
Food: I got the U.B.B Extra ramen. An amplified umami broth that combines four types of stock. (Chicken, Pork, Fish & Mushroom) The dish was thick and rich. A very hearty broth with plenty of pork cha-shu and an ooey gooey egg. Eating some sea weed, pork and broth with the extra free bowl of rice was very satisfying at the end. The bowl was roughly $21 without tip. Service: It was very fast when I came in at 6:20pm. I got a table, ordered, ate and paid all with in roughly 30 minutes. The staff were very friendly (and pretty ). Atmosphere: Clean, white environment. The wall decorations with geometric art was nice to look at. Plenty of seating arrangements for singles or groups. Not at all a cluttered or cramped space like other ramen establishments. Parking: They offer a parking garage space. To learn more they have the details available inside the restaurant.
I have heard great things about Maruhachi and they are all true. The food, customer service and atmosphere are all 10/10. They have really good house beer on tap and the menu has many options. We tried the Gyoza, katsu curry and 2 types of Ramen all of which were great. Our server Eddie was very attentive, pleasant and went over the top to clean up a spill at our table and cater to our young daughter who was trying ramen for the first time. We will definitely make a point to visit any time we find ourselves in Coquitlam!
Great place for kids! They had a clean high chair, convenient seating and a bowl and small cutlery for our little one. They even had a small cup and straw for the water. The ramen was great and priced fairly, as were the drinks and appetizers. The restaurant and washrooms were clean and the service was great! Kid-friendliness: The most kid friendly restaurant weve ever been to.
Friendly staffs. Great food as always.
It was my first time there. I had UBB kara shibe and enjoyed food a lot.
Cozy and clean ramen restaurant! Good portions and delicious ramen. Would recommend for anyone in the area craving good soup.
Expensive for the portion offered!! Standard fare. Standard atmosphere!!
Great place and Service! Thanks Ed for your service today in my lunch time.
Delicious. A little confusing on one menu item that didnt appear to come with an egg so I added one, but then got 2! Will happily visit again. Food
Food good. Service ok. Parking is a joke.
I ordered a pork curry with prawn, the flavor is amazing and the prawn are crispy AF. Store atmosphere is nice and cozy.
Friendly staff, okay ramen.
Top notch said our Ramen lover whos had it in Japan. Chicken broth very tasty and lighter than pork. Cha Su succulent, seaweed in broth WOW! Gyozas some of the best. Our 1yr old was stuffing it by fistfuls ! Oh and the EGG again WOW. Thanks so much.
When I found out a new Ramen restaurant opened in Coquitlam, I figured I had to try it. At first glance, the restaurant was bright and vibrant. At the restaurant, I ordered the Chashu Ramen. Digging into the noodles and broth, I found the noodles to have a nice firm texture, but the chicken broth was incredibly concentrated and salty, which just ruined it for me. The pork was tender, but was also pale with no caramelization or color whatsoever. I would have hoped to taste more of the pork itself, but it was overpowered by the strong salty chicken broth. I would also expect the egg to be cut in half for me, but it was unfortunately still whole. When cut into it, the yolk was slightly overdone. Overall, I did not quite enjoy my bowl of Ramen at Marutama. Perhaps my experience could have been better with more controlled salt levels.
A very nice ramen. Had the curried broth variety. Well done. Decent price. Clean restaurant. Walkable from the coquitlam center mall. Food
Such delicious food and friendly service. Weve found on new regular Sunday afternoon spot. And theyve got ice cold beer!
Way too much pepper in my ramen, well I think it was pepper. It was unbearable to eat. The thin and thick noodles were over cooked. The chicken broth was oily. The gyozas were really oily as well. Over all it was definitely not worth $60 and nor will I be back. The service is lacking to request a 15% tip
The service here is really top notch. They greet you, have a good system for clean or dirty tables, they get your order quickly and food is served quickly as well. The soup is flavourful and filling, or refill of noodles is priced well to ensure youre full enough. I dont usually finish the soup in soup noodle dishes but theirs was so good that I did.
Moat delicious Ramen
Everything was great, but as everywhere, prices keep going up and ingredients less.
We enjoy the food thank you
Pleasing atmosphere with fast and efficient service. Food was good enough for a holiday afternoon and be a top rated ramen bar in the neighbourhood. Food
Thin noodles and rich chicken broth with seaweed and spring onion topping. Soft boiled egg and Chashu slices. Extra noodles on the side. The Chashu was a little dry and I mixed them in the broth for a while to rehydrate them.
Clean restaurant with quick service. The restaurant specializes in ramen but also have other Japanese appetizers and mains (curry). Ramen prices range from $14 to $18 on average. There are four tables that seat two and look to be a great place to dine alone. I ordered the UBB Kara-Shibi ($18). The broth was flavourful, the noodle was bouncy, and there was some spice to it. Not super impressed with the meat though. Also ordered the Cha Shu Gohan ($8) which was a small bowl with rice and pork. Very tasty and worth it for someone who isn t overly hungry.
I m a big marutama fan, but my recent experiences are getting worse with every visit. A year ago I got a full bowl of ramen for $10.90. Now I have to pay $14.3 for the same bowl (since garlic is now an add-on), while I get a smaller and less rich (aka watered-down) portion, with 1/5 of aosa. We re living in inflationary times and all that, but when I m paying 30% more for an inferior experience - you guys are losing the fundamentals. I hope you can improve soon
The soup isnt as flavorful as when I first had it at the Bidwell location a few years ago. But its still really good. Feels like they lean more on the salt than the rich chicken flavour.
Delicious ramen!
Love the food and atmosphere. If you like Ramen you can not go wrong with this. They have other branches in lower mainland. All of them have the same quality Vegetarian options: Curry ramen
Amazing ramen, rich broth and the chashu was really good. The noodles refill for $2 is amazing
I ordered chasu ramen to-go for my sick hubby. The server let us sit on the table while we were waiting and even gave us water. I got my food within 15 minutes of ordering. I am not a fan of chicken based ramen but I m surprised at how good Maruhachi s chicken broth was. I took few bites and like the chasu ramen. The broth was flavorful and not too thin. The thin noodle was firm - just what I like. They gave generous chasu pieces. They were tender & flavorful. We will come back to try different menu next time.
Best Ramen locally
Everything is good except their curry rice.
A super neat and minimalistic restaurant with friendly staff and swift food serving. A perfect place for a quick quality dinning right next to the Coquitlam center. Ramen broth is not as salty as traditional ramen shop s. Thin noodle mixes and matches really well with the soup.
4.5 Stars. I ve dined in various locations for a few times in the past, and was always a bit underwhelmed. Usually a bit bland for me compared to other Ramen places, and a bit too rich broth wise. But two days ago, I tried their new Enhanced Umami broth and it was actually the most flavourful ramen soup I ve had yet (just wish there was a bit more actually pork meat in it, or it ll be 5 stars. I actually remember just one thinner slice.) Can t wait to have it again and order extra noodles with it as there s plenty of flavour to soak up! And I do like the complementary small bowl of rice to soak up the broth at the end. Yum my mouth is watering a bit now
Great enriched chicken broth! First time alway try the original.
Went here with a friend and there was good service and I really enjoyed the ramen! Thanks!
New Ramen is quite nice
Flavourful soup base
Nice to see one of the more popular ramen shops open up a location in Coquitlam. Food and service is always good.
really good ramen
Can t order pick up because there s no phone number posted online for all branches
My first experience with Ra-men! I liked the dish l ordered but it was too much for me. Will eat the rest at home. Service was pleasant & friendly. Tx
The menu on the internet and on the menu are different, and the taste is average and a bit greasy.
Feb 2023 update: need to take a star off for the soup broth. Im not sure what happened, but the soup base is not as rich and tasty as before (see review below from 2022). They now charge for dried garlic where other places have it as a free garnish. 90cents wont break the bank, but I do miss this table side. Since this didnt satisfy my ramen craving, I went to Akedo Showten in Langley the next day and they are top notch. Service and atmosphere at Maruhachi (previously Marutama) are still 5 stars though. 2022 Review: Solid ramen restaurant - rich broth, al dente noodles, ooey gooey tamago (egg). Very consistent with the other Marutama locations in downtown and Burnaby. But I gotta say...this new Coqutilam location is beautiful! I rarely mention the restaurant decor, but this place is spacious, bright, clean, and welcoming. The staff are courteous and kind too. Great ramen joint!
So happy Marutama is in Coquitlam now! My new favourite ramen restaurant in the Tricities. Love the creamy broth! Also ordered the gyoza and chicken karaage, all excellent as well. Highly recommend and will be back.
Came here cause I was craving ramen and honestly it wasnt anything special. I had the shoyu ramen and I thought it was a bit too salty for me. The chicken karaage was decent but at 13.50 it was a little on the pricy side. Portion was great for the ramen though and was feeling pretty full after.
Vegetable ramen in chicken is amazingly delicious. A must try when visiting Coquitlam.
Not your average ramen - a very different style of noodle soup than other places in the area. Limited vegetarian option. They have a very concise menu, focused on what they do best. Definitely worth a try! Broth is rich, creamy chicken based (most). The thin noodles are firmer, and does not have the alkaline and pork flavour normally associated with ramen.
The ramen here is delicious! The Aka ramen (with ground nuts) was rich and creamy, and the noodles had a great bite. It was a tad bit on the salty side, and I kind of wished for a tiny side dish or something to cleanse my palate to re-appreciate the flavour of the broth.
Amazing ramen!
Great location! Clean and spacious, fast service, and tasty food. The ramen broth is one of the best I ve had in Vancouver.
I dont know how this place is getting good ratings, maybe for the service. But the ramen on the other hand is beyond terrible. The chicken broth taste weird and fishy with a bitter after taste. I think they put bonito fish flakes in the broth. Portion size is also very small for the price. This is not an authentic Japanese ramen restaurant, they dont know what they are doing. Highly not recommended if you are in the area.
Their spicy UBB is so good and very addicting. Rice goes so well with the broth. Their original ramen could be little boring but they re still decent.
Love it. Im so glad I dont have to go downtown anymore.
Cha-shu ramen is delicious. Ill try another menu next time. Food
Best Raman in BC without a doubt hands down
Tasty noodles! Tried the UBB noodles and would consider it more like udon rather than ramen, but it was very tasty regardless.
Ramen here was really good and the people working were very friendly and attentive. The portion I had was perfect for me, I felt full after finishing everything (I had the UBB Xtra)
The most amazing noodles. I was over halfway through when I realized I should have taken a picture. The soft boiled egg was perfection and the broth was so rich. I love this.
Loved it. Thank you for a great lunch. Will be back!
The ramen was one of the best in town when they first opened. For whatever reasons, their menu changed in the last few months, and its far from how it tasted like. Aside from that, even when you order a takeout from their website, they add a 10% tips on your bill. You are certainly free to give tips if youre feeling generous and want to leave a tip even you dont get any service for a takeout order, but I find it sneaky that they preset that.
Ramen really tasty, and service was
came here with my mom today for dinner and had the tamago ramen, 10/10 the staff are super friendly and customer service was one of the best ive seen theyre insanely patient service was fast too, we got seated immediately and our food came in basically 5-10 minutes the place itself is so nice too, not sure if its just me but i love places where theres cool lighting. warm lighting makes everything look yellow imo, it was bright + its hard to find restaurants without dim lighting nowadays this definitely is a plus for people like me who like whiter lights everything is a 10/10!! will def come again
It serve pretty unique Japanese Ramen, noodle is narrower and soup is white and taste mild, not salty at all.
Seriously love this place. Not crowded, open space, clean super friendly staff (and thoughtful!), And of course, delicious food. My go to are cha-shu tamago ramen with extra noodles. Its not as heavy as you would find other ramen but that just makes it an easy non guilty regular place to eat! The UBB series is much more rich and fatty if you prefer it. It comes with a scoop or ride to soak up all the fatty goodness. Seriously, youll see fat floating in the soap! There could be line ups during the weekend, but the weekdays are clear! Atmosphere is so comfortable, spacious and has AC during the hot summer. It is super kid friendly as well with bowls, utensils, cushiony booster (not those old plastic ones), and they provide scissors as well!! Highly recommend - best ramen place in the area! Kid-friendliness: High chair available. Kids cutlery and serving ware available (Ikea ones)
What an underrated place. Clean, welcoming interior, super friendly service, and deliciously creamy broth. Not many ramen places do a chicken broth well but this location seems to be particularly good. This is one of those local favourites that you keep coming back to. Would totally recommend for a casual dinner!
Seems like there s new owners. Their menu changed in the last few months. They used to have the best chicken ramen and now it s not good. I don t recommend this place anymore
It is not the same ramen place they were a year ago. Ever since the name change, the quality of their broth tasted watered down and weird. How expensive can garlic be? Charging for garlic chips seem like a very Chinese thing to do. Perhaps the new owner is trying to maximise on profits and don t care about the quality of the product anymore.
I don t understand how this place has such high reviews. It s terrible! I would not recommend this to my worst enemy.
Always great to go here, the broth is always hot and noodles cooked perfect. I do miss the complimentary garlic chips but instead you have to purchase them. Overall I would definitely go back
One of my fav ramen places to go to right now, noodles are deliciously fresh and all their broth is to die for !
Unfortunately feels like a watered down experience from Marutama.
Food is amazing, but they definitely need to hire more employees
Best noodles Ive ever had (and yes, I can compare worldwide!) Worth driving from the valley to have any of their wholesome and tasty soups. Wonderful service and very reasonable prices. Worth trying as your first Japanese noodle experience! Check all locations. Arigato gozaimasu!!
Flavourful broth, price increases significantly with additional accouterments, egg, green onions, seaweed,
Amazing service from every staff especially we interacted with. Especially the waitress. Very kid friendly and made us feel welcomed even though our kids were a bit messy. Every dish we had was top notch, even the curry was really good. Parking: There is parking around back in parking garage you can get to through the alley behind shops. Kid-friendliness: Made us feel very welcomed even though our kids were a bit messy.
I had the ramen UBB extra, it come with 4pcs of cha su, 4 PCs of seaweed, and 1 soft heart boil egg that come on top of the soup noodle. There is also a free bowl of rice offer of my noodle. Everything is fulfilling and very tasty. My family member order the special only offer from this location. Ramen in a stone bowl. She love it alot. Just like Korean stone bowl rice with ramen noodles, which is also tasty, the service is excellent. Server is polite and restaurant is clean and spacious. The price is good too. My noodle is $20 plus tax. I likes the noodle texture, the meats is big size, and the soup is thick and tasty, I end up drank the whole bowl of soup after I finish the meat and noodle with rice. Everyone has a pleasant lunch here. I will definitely come back. The parking can be tricky, as I post the parking instruction which/ anyone want to try can find free parking. Otherwise pay parking is available on the street or park close to coquitlam centre just 5 to 10 minutes walk. Vegetarian options: They have veggie reman and few snacks Dietary restrictions: You can mention to the server, and the server will recommend what is the best for you to decide. Parking: Free Parking space is a bit tricky, but free and paid street parkings are available. paid street parking is within a block , free street parking are 2 to 3 blocks away. Kid-friendliness: They offer smaller portion or smaller bowl for sharing with kids Wheelchair accessibility: This ramen location is on ground floor
Started off with pan fried gyozas. Ramen broth is rich and tasty. Egg was perfect. Ramen noodles were great first round. Asked for a second round of noodles, and this time I found them a tad hard. Maybe pulled out a minute too early. Ill return again.
best ramen in town fr better than danbo and their broth just hits different. its rich and flavourful i wish i could live near hear ha
Had the Aka ramen with an egg and it was great!
Good ramen, fast service. JMT
Delicious
Good place, excellent atmosphere and very welcoming.
The dining environment is very fresh and clean, the seats are spacious and comfortable, and the food is beyond expectations and delicious Kid-friendliness: Taste and delicious meals that are acceptable to children
They said a new menu will be available in short time, but either way... Just go there and try it yourself. Amazing comfy tasteful food. Ill try the new options for sure!!
Amazing flavour, and the chef Daniel is even better! Highly recommend!!!!
Cant say enough good things about this place. Great for a quick lunch. Good with kids.
Great ramen! The soup has lots of flavour and not salty! Kid-friendliness: Children utensils! Food : 5/5 |
Very good i like the garlic chips you eat with it.
Maruhachi curry was the best
Great food, reasonable prices, great service Curry and ramen was delicious Will return for sure. Highly recommend Food : 5/5
My favourite dish here I like to order is the curry. Wheelchair accessibility: It is on the ground floor. Food : 5/5 |
I usually go to the downtown location, but since I have moved to Surrey this is the nearest location to me. Went here for the first time yesterday and the quality was just as the good as the Vancouver location. My new Raman joint!
Decent ramen in the area. The chicken broth is not what I prefer. Wish they had pork broth instead, much more flavorful.
The décor of this Japanese restaurant is typically Japanese, simple but sophisticated. The menu is very manageable. However, the dishes served are very small. The new Jerk Fried Chicken on the menu are not very tasty in my opinion. Very dry and overspiced. The ramen offered are very lightly seasoned. But the service is very friendly and accommodating. The food is a little overpriced due to its size.
Simple tasty chicken-based ramen. Very warming on a rainy day. Vegetarian options: They had some Dietary restrictions: They offered adjustments
The name was changed from Marutama to Maruhachi . Marutama = Maruhachi I had U.B.B Karashi-bi ramen and enjoyed it because the spicy and warm chicken-based broth, which was not too salty or bland, warmed my body on a cold day. The texture of the moderately thick noodles went well with the soup. Please note that the additional noodles come with thin noodles. Its a different texture because you eat all the thick noodles and then add the thin noodles :)
I recommend the spicy option for all the Ramen. Always get the egg too. The waiter messed up our order, but they were able to rectify it right away. Food : 4/5
Extremely polite and friendly service stands out of generally tasty food and expected atmosphere.
Service was wonderful, fast and attentive. Establishment was clean and updated. The Ramen itself was very good. I had the Kara Shibi. The broth was very good and flavourful. The spice level was just right and the marinated egg delicious. Sadly, loss of one star because only one slice of cha-shu came in the bowl. For $19 I would have expected more cha shu. Otherwise will 10/10 visit again.
So over all it wasn t bad I got there 20$ ubb bowl the beef or pork was very soft and tender but it had a lot of fat or connective tissue they had also had a maranted egg in there but there was a bit too much sea weed for me and it tasted straight like fish and was so salty maybe it was supposed I m not to sure what ubb stands for and the menu was hard to understand and wasn t really explained on the back of the menu it says something about how there chicken broth is so good and everything but it didn t actually tell you what items had the chicken broth I couldn t really understand the waiter or maybe he couldn t understand me but the noodles texture was pretty basic raw men but they ll give you extra noodles for 2 bucks which is pretty good if it wasn t so salty like it s not bad at first but then you eat your noodles then you just get sick and over whelmed by the fish and salt and then it s just this huge bowl of soup and they only have chop sticks and a spoon just need to fix the description of the menu and make it not so salty but it actually tasted like something I had before which was interesting and yo there was no parking you have to go around in this alley on the side and there s visitors parking on the second floor
Average ramen and good gyoza.
Always tasty ramen and great service. Also the restaurant is always clean.
My Original Ramen with creamy chicken broth tasted yummy & sounds healthier than pork broth. Draft beer price of $6.50 is reasonable. As I was the third customer when they opened at 11 am, there was no wait for drink and food. One thing to note is that they are cashless, only cards. Will be back for more yummy ramen. Wheelchair accessibility: Saw a gentleman on wheelchair by himself having ramen across from my table.
Best Ramen in Coquitlam! My friend and family enjoyed dinner before walking to Lafarge Lake. Theres a line up outside the restaurant.
