Cactus Club Cafe in Coquitlam

Just waited an hour and a half for our table to come back and check in only to discover first they can t find us on the list, and then to be told apparently they did send a text message. Just a wildly confusing and bad experience waste of time didn t eat. I won t recommend this place at all.

We had a really good server he didnt mess up.. gave us everything we needed seem to be good at his job although we sat forever to order and we sat forever waiting for the food it took like an hour and a half for lunch the food was not great my chicken sandwich had almost no flavor no sauce the fries were like stale and probably been in the heat lamp for half an hour. Definitely wont be doing that again

We booked a social event for 40 people at 2 pm on a Saturday. We arrived 10 to 2 and was met by a hostess, no smile and no eye contact. We asked to be seated, she looked at her watch and said unfriendly you booked for 2 pm and it s not 2 yet . I asked for a manager as we were filling up the small entrance way, it was now 5 to 2 the manager came, I asked if we could be seated, she looked at her watch and said you booked for 2 pm and it s not 2 yet.. If I had my way, we would ve left and went somewhere else. We eventually made it to our area to find that seating was very poorly arranged. The service was borderline bad, the atmosphere horrible and the food not warm, clearly sat for a while before it was served. Compared to the outstanding service we received at Cactus Club Coquitlam Centre, this was very disappointing.A negative shift manager? Parking: Good luck in finding parking. This is a very busy shopping centre.

Ordered online a Cajun chicken sandwich with no Cajun, upgrade the side to yam fries, tofu lettuce wraps and an eggnog cheese cake for dessert. I got a notification that the food was ready for pick up 40 minutes later, my boyfriend went inside to pick up the food but was told it wasn t ready yet when he finally got home with our much excited take out date night dinner, we started to dig in. The first couple of bites were yummy, nothing out of the ordinary, but it didn t take long before my boyfriend noticed that his chicken was not fully cooked through and still very pink. He refused to eat anymore and then we had to make dinner, which negated us buying take out and waiting for it. We wanted to treat ourselves to dinner that we did not have to make or clean up after. Over all we were very disappointed.

Josh was our server and we enjoyed talking to him. Curry dish with chicken and rice was delicious. Can substitute tofu for chicken. Red wine sangria is my favorite drink. Vegetarian options: Pastas, salads Parking: Wheel chair accessible. Large parking part of a strip mall you enter stores from outside Restaurant separate from stores but sometimes parking can be hard to find if Christmas or weekend. Be patient, cars coming and going in lot all the time. Sometimes you have to park end of parking lot. Not that far to walk. Recommend that you make online reservation at restaurant. They have happy hour often so faster to reserve. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, and parking

Wonderful food and service. Plenty of options for vegetarians as well. Do try their Zen Roll and Asian Noodle Salad.

The consistency at cactus club is what I love. The dishes are always so good!

We had a reservation for 6pm, got sat at 5:55pm. We had the ravioli with prawns, and the teriyaki chicken bowl. Both were sooooo flavourful and delicious! The patio here is the best!

Taya was such a great server, very friendly and attentive. She is so sweet and I will definitely request to sit in her section again!

$5.50 extra to substitute Woodford replacing Jack Daniel s in whiskey sour. Absolute rip off. No mention of that additional cost on the menu and the server never said it when I ordered. That s a 40% premium on the original drink price! One would almost think that they have crappy whiskey in their drinks to encourage substitution for profit. Won t be back that s for sure.

I came in for dinner and my server Nelia was so helpful and kind. Would absolutely recommend her for anyone looking for a pleasant night out!

We had Kirstin as our server and she was so incredibly sweet and so knowledgeable when recommending items and answering our questions. She was very efficient and constantly checked up on us. If you ever come to this location, ask for Kirstin to be your server!

Spend a bit more money to feel a little fancier, and get slightly more quality than say white spot. For the record I like white spot and cactus club, but the difference between the two is smaller than theyd like you to think.

I had the best dine in experience with Austin at Cactus Club Coquitlam, from the moment we walked in, we were greeted, talked in detail through the menu and had specialized cocktails of our choice. Austin was very on top of things, very genuine and held a good set of conversations with us for the night. This was by far my best experience at a restaurant and I will definitely be returning. I have asked to be sat in future in his serving section. Thank you Cactus and Austin for making an ordinary night feel extraordinary. Anyone s who s having a dine in, you know where to go. Thanks.

Impossible to find parking

Maria was fantastic. True embodiment of amazing customer service, felt warm, welcomed and really appreciated.

Ramadan, our host, was very attentive and carried a pleasing personality.Our orders came in at the pace we wanted.

Its coming they said, but it never did. Arriving, after pre-ordering a day ahead as part of a group, my order was acknowledged, but not served with the others. When asked about it they said its coming. After the group had finished lunch & coffee, and were leaving, it was brought to the empty table. Running into the manager upon our exit he blamed our group, saying someone else must have eaten it originally, so this was the replacement dish. I left without eating, or a sincere apology. Parking: The parking lot was full.

Cactus club, Im at an age where I get annoyed when I go to any of these fast food joints and I am greeted by an airhead, served by an airhead, why can they have older more experienced personnel at the door, and not just the door on the floor also they have sense of direction and humor I have been to other restaurants where they have older more experience personal and its amazing the difference in the whole, and in another time the staff was all older gentlemen and the attention to detail and comfort was great Thank you

I ve been coming to and ordering from this Cactus Club location for years without any issues. Today, we ordered takeout, and one of our items was missing. When I called the restaurant, the manager, Giovanni, was incredibly accommodating and apologetic. We were missing an add-on item for our steak dinner, and he immediately offered us several options to make it right. We decided to take him up on his offer to replace the entire steak dinner (not just the missing prawns), and he even added a dessert for the inconvenience of driving back. The level of customer service we received was outstanding, and we truly appreciate how Giovanni went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. This experience reinforces why we keep coming back highly recommend!

I recently visited Cactus Club in Coquitlam, and I had a fantastic experience! Radu was our server, and he was incredibly attentive throughout the evening. He made sure our drinks were always full and checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. His friendly and professional service really enhanced our dining experience. I highly recommend this location and will definitely be coming back!

I ordered using doordash several time. I asked some ketchup but it was missing last time. And I asked them, please make sure put ketchup. And I got over 20packs of ketchup.. I don t think that s normal..

Ordered a pesto Quesodilla and they forgot the MAIN INGREDIENT the PESTO :( this was actually nasty, what a waste.

What an awesome Menu! Attended for a 36 anniversary. I wish we got our servers name but he was outstanding! Delivered Champaign right as our friends arrived! Great conversationalist, not phony or contrived. We had the Rigatoni bolognese, Med Bowl, impossible burger, and Robs crispy chicken sandwich. ALL AWESOME AND TO DIE FOR. But the Calamari starter wr shared had to be the best we have ever had. And my wifes whisky sour was one of the best she had ever had. I had a killer penacilin drink with Johnie Black and Lagavulin. Crazy good. But my wife had a large black piece of plastic (?) In her dinner, towards the end, bit into it. Told and showed server. He did not bat an eye, apologised took her meal, and then manger came, Whitney, who was so darn good, So apologetic, took 100% blame, herself, comped meal and delivered another one to go. Not once did they question my wife. We were all so impressed. Talk about customer service. And the couple git a comp piece of cheese cake. Cactus Club, we are coming back! Thank you. Brian

I took my family of 5, 2 adults, 3 teenagers for my sons birthday. With a couple of appies, 3 cocktails and meals....the bill was $240 including tip. My daughter had to send her meal back as she did not like the sauce they used, so she asked for a replacement without the sauce. They brought out another order and they didnt take the sauce off (which was the point of remaking it). She sent the food back again and went home hungry. $240 bucks is expensive for 4 people to eat and 1 goes home hungry...and with the headaches, not planning to return to Cactus Club any time soon. It was a disaster and expensive even after comping the meal that didnt work out.

Claudia is the best server I have encountered. Claudia has superb memory, she will remember conversations from my previous visits. Its great to have fantastic employees like Claudia. She is the reason why we have been to this location 6 times in 5 weeks. We dont live in Coquitlam, there is a reason why we come here. Also , truffle parmesan chicken is simply out of this world. The ceviche is irresistible. You must come here and ask for Claudia, she works mon to Friday. You wont be disappointed. Test her knowledge on The Lord Of The Rings.

Worst service ever. The waitress was so rude did not come to my table till 30 minutes after seating me and disappeared again for an hour and was demanding tip for her horrible service. Telling me if I don t tip her, she will have to tip the cooks from her paycheque. Her customer service was so rude and the service was not it.

I came to eat with my family about a week ago, we had the most amazing experience thanks to the manger named Rita. She was fantastic made us feel so welcome she is an excellent person to have as a manger! We waited a bit longer than our expected time for our reservation, she got my family and I an appetizer on the house and chatted with us for a bit, will definitely be coming back to see her and will be bringing friends and family as well! Well done Cactus Club.

Excellent chicken chipotle tacos

Theres a lot to like about Cactus Club, but Ive always hated the atmosphere. The food was good and the service was great, I just hate how it feels sitting in a Cactus club. I feel like they should issue a Polo shirt at the entrance.

Cactus club on School house and Lougheed is one of the best locations in the lower mainland , the food, the service and the overall atmosphere is awesome, special thanks to Anna the classy and professional server , and thanks Anna for the free 7up drink.

A big thank you to Kate, Amber, and Ricky for quickly handling my large order in such a short amount of time. I spoke with Kate at the front and she was incredibly fast at thinking on her feet and took immediate action while still remaining calm. Amber, Ricky, and the rest of the team prepared my 13 dishes ahead of schedule and even accommodated my special requests! Each dish was made perfectly. I visited this location for dinner last night and was quite disappointed. I ordered the Med bowl with chicken, first the rice were cold and clumped together. The olives were extremely salty, overpowering other ingredients in the bowl. The chicken looked and tasted like it was straight out of the freezer with no flavour whatsoever. I left feeling quite dissatisfied with the meal.

Had the worst experience at this establishment involving a female manager. The food I had ordered happened to have a hair in it which is something I can excuse cause sometimes it happens. But this manager had the audacity to accuse me of dropping my own hair into the food and brushed off the event. I feel insulted and will never come back here.

Fantastic food and service for a family of 12 grad celebration. A grandparent noted her food was exceptionally good and I agree. Our server allowed us extra time to serve cake too. As a bigger group we would return for sure. Bill was just over $500 for twelve people no appies some beverages. It is pricey but quality and the Bellinis are especially good here. Worth it for a nice date or big family or friend dining experience.

The team at CC Schoolhouse is amazing! We had a scheduled film co. tech survey lunch and we ended up getting behind in our schedule. Mahshad and the Team were so gracious about keeping our rezo for 40 intact and not getting upset about the fact that a large section was held for us for a certain time and we were over an hour late. Once we were in, the appies, drinks, and mains all came out in rapid succession! It is always a treat bringing the team to the best place for survey lunches!

I just wanted to add that my Sister, Nephew and I were here on the long weekend, May 20, 2024. We had the pleasure of having Pavel as our server and he was absolutely phenomenal!!! We had two Sangrias each and shared the lemongrass noodle salad and chili citrus calamari. Delicious as always!!! Pavel treated us like family and made our time there so memorable and special! We re so grateful for the above and beyond hospitality and service! Pavel should be so proud of how he carries himself with such maturity and professionalism! Cactus Club is very lucky to have him there. He is so chivalrous and puts you at ease. I moved to the Fraser Valley a few years ago and it s been a while since I ve been there. The staff and servers are very friendly and knowledgeable and make you feel so happy and at home! They really care about you and you feel extremely comfortable and special! They dress beautifully!! My husband and I celebrated his birthday here and we had a wonderful experience with our server Eunice. She was warm, kind, generous and was very attentive to our needs. We have been to cactus countless times but she really made this visit special. My husband ordered the Millionaires cut and his steak was delicious. Thank you for a great evening! Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp, and there are buttons to open the doors, different seating areas throughout the restaurant can accommodate wheelchairs at the tables. We have brought my aunt who uses a wheelchair for lunch here many times and they are always accommodating. I recommend calling ahead to ensure they have a great table for you.

Had the pleasure of dining in for lunch last week and was pleasantly surprised at how amazing this location is. Our server Tara went above and beyond to make us feel special and cater to our many food modifications. We enjoyed some happy hour specials and a peanut butter crunch bar to finish the meal. Next time we come back we would love to sit with Tara.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received during a company dinner at your restaurant yesterday. I believe the waitress serving our table was named Nicole or something similar. Throughout the evening, I found myself needing to move around to meet and greet my colleagues. On two occasions, the waitress approached me, stating that I couldnt stand in certain areas. While I initially complied, the situation escalated when I exchanged seats with a colleague. The waitress insisted that I couldnt sit in the new seat either. When I questioned her actions and asked why she was singling me out, she responded in an unprofessional manner, taking my plate and placing it on another table without my consent. This was particularly upsetting as I am uncomfortable with others handling my food. The interaction left a negative impression on me, and even my colleagues, who overheard our exchange, apologized on her behalf. I did not expect this level of service from Cactus Club Cafe, a place I have previously enjoyed. I strongly suggest that basic customer service and etiquette training be reinforced among your staff to prevent such incidents in the future. This experience significantly marred what was supposed to be an enjoyable evening. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Ive been visiting this Cactus Club for a while now for bdays and get togethers and never had an issue. I reserved a table for 6 to celebrate my daughters bday on April 27. Didnt expect to wait that long to get seated. No big issue. Once seated it took a while to get orders for drinks. First issue never got our refills, service was so slow. And the ambiance was horrible. There were some very rowdy customers that probably had a few too many and were yelling. I was embarrassed because I brought my parents here for the first time after telling them how great the service and food was. They werent impressed to say the least. The only saving grace was the food. Not sure if I want to come back to this location.

Ordered Burger + Lemonade + Toffu Bowl - Great taste experience

Picked up an order of the Quesadilla and two Baja fish tacos. The quesadilla looks to be much smaller than before as do the tacos. The tacos were mostly batter and very little fish and quite oily as well. Pretty disappointing considering three items are $50+ dollars.

I came in with a party of 4. Ordered 3 bowls : 1 cripsy tofu bowl and 2 Lettuce wraps but in a bowl with shredded Lettuce. I saw that my crispy tofu bowl came in a bigger bowl while the 2 other ones came in a smaller one ( almost half the portion). I enquired from the server and was told that this is how they serve it. I shared with them that other locations dont do that, however was told that I am mistaken. Agreeded, it might be possible the I made a mistake. However, I went to another cactus location recently. Same order, but was given to me in the big bowl. Hence, I will not be coming to this location anymore for the foreseeable future as I dont want to pay $24+taxes for half a bowl. Not a good look on a fine establishment like Cactus!

Ive been to this location many times. The atmosphere is so cool. The patio is great in the summer and youre in real luck if your server is Ayesha. Shes so great, always takes care of you, sweet and knows her stuff! 5 stars!

I frequent Cactus Club all the time, all their Lower Mainland locations. The Schoolhouse location is excellent. On my last visit my server was Ayesha. Ayesha provided exceptional service! She made sure that my food came out exactly as I liked it, she always refilled my coffee cup and checked on me to make certain that my meal was excellent. Ayesha is the best server that Ive ever had at any restaurant. I look forward to my next visit to Cactus Club Schoolhouse.

I visited cactus club this evening may 7th with my friends for dinner. The food was amazing and service was top class. Our servers name was Ayesha and she welcomed us with a big smile and never let our glasses go dry , which is very important to me being Irish . 10/10 would recommend.

We had Karli H tonight for our server and she was great, awesome service, quick attentive, and even while she was training a new team member :) I ve never had a bad experience here, it s debatable which is better here, the service or food. Compliments to the kitchen and Chefs :) If you re reading this go eat here already :P

I come to this restaurant regularly, and every experience has been amazing. The food is consistently great, and the servers are so friendly and very helpful. It is easily my favorite place for food! Dietary restrictions: They have vegan options, vegetarian options, and gluten-free options.

For me, leaving reviews is a lot like a total solar eclipse - doesnt happen all that often, but its certainly a spectacle when it does, plus theres no need for the funny-looking, found-in-cereal-box sunnies. To reiterate, absolutely no sunnies necessary. As a self proclaimed restauranteur, I know for a fact that Cactus Club never fails to deliver. When Im a hungry, hungry hippo on the the hunt hot wings, lettuce wraps, and an ice cold beer, this hippo points his compass in the direction of the local Cactus Club Cafe. However, on this particular day - I believe to have been a Wednesday - I had over-indulged at the local IKEA establishment in Coquitlam; boy, is that place ever an adventure. Exhausted and hungry from the 18 mile walk through the IKEA showroom, you can bet that I was excited to know that Id be passing right by a Cactus Club Cafe on my way back to my sanctuary in Langley. Upon arriving without a reservation at an early dinner hour, I could not have been more surprised (or excited ) that I was able to get a table in the lounge right away. And let me be crystal clear, this was no ordinary table, it was a booth; a booth that was right in prime viewing angle of the televisions - an absolute delight as the NHL playoffs had just gotten underway and this time of the year is superior to even Christmas time. How I scored this table will forever remain a mystery kept under wraps with the likes of the the Bermuda Triangle, the Egyptian pyramids, and Stonehenge. Anywho, just as I thought things couldnt get any better and something was for sure going to go wrong, then youd better buckle up because Im about to unload praise on the service at a rate that would only rival the rate that an M134 unloads bullets. Our server, who introduced herself as Ayesha, was at the table within 3.6 seconds, or, 5.98 seconds faster than Usain Bolt runs the 100 metre sprint. She asked about my day and even listened while I rambled on about my IKEA adventure as if I was telling her about my trip with Frodo to destroy the ring at Mordor. Despite my terrible depiction of my afternoon, she was lightning fast getting a couple of ice cold longboard lagers back to the table to help get me back into neutral. Im a bit picky with hot sauce and the hot sauce drip, so I always order my wings with a little less hot sauce, and cooked a little crispier. I know what youre thinking, Im a psychopath and hot wings are meant to be dripping in hot sauce, but give it a go and circle back to me after youve collected yourself from having your mind blown. Getting back on track, Ayesha noted all of these picky details into her tablet computer, and 8-9 minutes later, delivered what I can only describe as if heaven were a hot wing, this would be it plate of wings. While I indulged, Ayesha, reading the room and noticing that my beer consumption had accelerated due to hot wings, offered to bring me a refill to help with the hot, for which I quickly obliged using only hand signals and head gestures while I wiped my face of hot sauce. Upon the delivery of a fresh lager, Ayesha politely asked if I would be interested in any mains, and let me tell you; the only thing faster than her coming by the table when we sat down, was me answering DEFINITELY. Excited, I couldnt decide what I wanted, but Ayesha was quick to make a few noble suggestions, and I went with the Teriyaki Rice Bowl. This bowl, glowing white like an angels halo and warm to the touch, perfectly garnished and smelling of sweet and savoury, was absolutely delicious. A perfect mix of rice, chicken, veggies, and a mixup of sauce that just pulled everything together like a family portrait on the beaches of Maui. I feel like I might be rambling on a bit here, but our server, Ayesha, and the team at Cactus Club Cafe in Coquitlam were nothing short of amazing. An all around amazing experience, one that Id be happy to take again, but this time ignoring any idea or notion to visit the IKEA. Thank you!

Food and drinks were good as per usual. Washroom was filthy and no paper towels. Killed my appetite for the first bit.

We were at Cactus Club for a birthday lunch on May 12th, 2024 and were extremely disappointed with the service. Understandably, it was busy, with kids running around but they were screaming throughout our entire lunch. Our family and friends have been celebrating our birthdays at Cactus Club for over 10 years, always happy with the service and complimentary dessert for the birthday person. This time, the service was extremely poor and no complimentary dessert. In spite of this, we still.left a $25 tip in a bill just a little over $100. Well now think twice before dining at Cactus Club again and will share this poor experience with others in case they expect a complimentary dessert too, as per tradition Cactus Club established.

One of my favourite chains of resteraunts. Went for a friends early birthday celebration. We were able to reserve a table. Service was good, drinks were good, and so was the food. Our server provided a piece of cheesecake for our friends birthday. This location has a nice enclosed patio that would be nice in the summer months.

A great location

I was there for a birthday dinner with a total of 8 in our party. No complaints about the food or service. My complaint is when the bill came. Total was 310.21 including all taxes. ( 286.00 before taxes) I Had a 150.00 cactus club gift card.. So that brings the total down to 160.21 Then i had a visa gift card that they were having issues with. So she took gift card and terminal into the kitchen to get help from a manager or another coworker.. In the end that took off another 60.00. So total now should be 100.21..... This is where i have the issue. The waitress came back with the terminal and the total said 125.00 Me not thinking anything of this at the time because i was paying for 4 people, 2 of them as a surprise for their birthdays. Trying to hurry because one figured out i was paying and didnt want me too. So i then ask if the tip had been included yet and she said no. So i added 60.00 extra as a tip. So my total on my personal card was 185.21 I get home and i have the bill in my purse because i was hiding it from my other 2 friends. I look it over and realize she actually got 85.00 as a tip. Maybe i should have realized the error when she came back with the terminal. But assumed the machines can do the math. I specifically told her i wanted to do a tip at the end when all gift cards were done because, Unfortunately i had the same issue at one of the Burnaby locations after using their gift cards. Only i caught that one before i left. Its a 25.00 difference. Its the principle of the matter now and i am not pleased. This may be the last time i eat here because this whole thing put a bad taste in my mouth. Update: Emailed them like they asked me too and No One got back to me!!! Very disappointed!!!!!

Im a big fan of cactus club, recently got the sushi zen for the first time and would recommend it 100% It s just so good !!! Always with a large Bellini of course Vegetarian options: Great and delicious vegetarian options

This is my familys new default restaurant. The burgers (chicken and beef) are consistently good! Daily happy hour till 5pm prices are very fair for what you get. Yes they have 8oz steak and frits as a happy hour option and it was good for the price! Kids like their chicken tenders and fries. The Mrs. enjoys their lettuce wrap options with many meals and staff are great. Havent had a bad server yet, so I tip more here than elsewhere as its well earned with their attentiveness but not hovering. They have the balance well figured out. Prices are a bit higher than fast food but well worth it for the speed they dish out and food quality far superior. Btw the Calamari dish is back but its not the same as before. I personally dont like the new style. Seems artificial. I highly highly highly recommend their Avocado dip during happy hour! Saw it posted by a local celeb and they werent wrong. We order the Avocado dip every time now. Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating to parents with young kids. Coloring pages and crayons given. Keeps the kids occupied while we wait(not long) for the food. They do split one order into shared plates as there is 5 or 6 tenders per order and for our kids thats more than enough to share so theres no waste. They have to go boxes too. Great experience for a young family.

Been to this Cactus club over 20times. Always very predictable and desirable food. Every time we come we order an appy and an entree, this time for appetizer we ordered the chili and the prawn sushi crunch roll. It has this fried prawns on top of a rice roll, but the rice roll is a little bland. So the crunch is nice but the sushi part was ok. Id add something to the rice part to make it stand out more. The chili chicken was good I came with these little wonton fried chips of sort. For the entre we ordered steak frites and the chicken creole. Chicken was cooked perfectly and the mash potatoes were so tasty. I recommend that dish for sure! Steak is always hard to comment on because it could be cooked nicely but still chewy if it is not a good cut, hard to tell, so next time Id pay a $8 more for the filet and skip the sirloin. Just my two cents, but its the 2nd time that has happened. A bad thing I notice is that the wine is offered in 5 and 8oz sizes. Used to be 6 and 9oz, I really do not like that , feel like they are ripping me off. I ordered a 8-oz glass of wine and felt like I was short changed regardless of the price I paid. So moving forward I will not order the wine, and advise that you dont either until they fix this. The atmosphere was great they were playing 90s r&b, and the server was nice and convinced me to try the kale salad with my steak frites and was pleasantly surprised!

Still the best Cactus Club. We have been to many across the lower mainland but this one just feels different. Always amazing service, good food (I miss the sliders and the hunter chicken though) and awesome drinks.

Went here with the girls but one of my friends was pregnant and she ordered steak. She asked for medium well but when it arrived it came medium rare. When we asked to have it cooked more they only heated it up for 3 minutes and It was still not cooked well. They finally started a new one and cooked it better. But it was too late already. They shouldve cooked it well done from the beginning. I think they shouldve also comped the food they didnt serve well.
