HK / Hong King Style Cafe located at Richmond Coquitlam Vancouver with cozy environment that offers Hong Kong Style comfort food.
Went for breakfast on Tuesday. Service was good. The food was so good. We had rice noodle w/ minced beef and parsley. Soup was hitting the spot. Creamy seafood was good. Added some white pepper for seasoning. The chicken steak sandwich is so good. Their chicken steak is a must try. Great price, less than $30 for 3 items. My gf and I left very full.
Typical Hong Kong style cafe. Sometimes difficult to find parking because lot is share with other businesses. Food is OK but prices have gone up a bit since the pandemic. Food and drink arrive quickly. There are some elbow room between tables unlike other restaurants that’s elbow to elbow.
Amazing customer service—quick and friendly! We ordered the BBQ pork, shrimp fried rice, noodles, and meat poutine, and the generous servings lasted for days. Loved the ambiance and the extensive menu selection. Will definitely come back to try more items!
Copa (cup) of disappointment… Picking up something in the Poco area and was deciding on some Korean food or this place. In the end, decided on this place since it’s been decade or longer since I have been to this place. Upon entering, it seems like the interior went through a bit of change and renovation. The place was pretty empty except for 3 booths seated with customers, maybe it was near closing time (1.5hrs before closing). Everything appeared to be clean throughout the restaurant with a comfortable spacing between the tables and booths. The service was subpar from the server, maybe she was more focused on cleaning and getting off work. When the owner/ manager took over, it was a lot better and she was more polite. Here were the food I ordered; 1. Sizzling Hot plate combo B+B (chicken steak & sausages) with borscht soup, spaghetti , cold lemon tea. The chicken was a little dry and the soup was a bit off and warm only. And the hot plate didn’t sizzle at all, maybe a 3 second frisk sound? 2. Sizzling hot place combo A+B (filet mignon & deep fried oysters) with lobster bisque, steamed rice, add lobster tail $23 extra. The filet mignon was horrible, first time ever struggling to chew a filet mignon, it was dry and didn’t taste fresh. The oysters were little midgets. The steamed rice was more like overnight rice just added a bit of water and a quick heat up by the microwave, it was dry and hard. And lastly the lobster tail was horrible; it had that bad fishy taste to it, one tiny bite from that and had to stop cause not worth food poisoning myself from it. And once again the sizzling plate wasn’t even warm!! (Facepalm) The only thing okay was the lobster bisque. Overall, I was quite disappointed with the food. I don’t remember it being this bad? What happened? Closer to closing time and whoever the cook in the kitchen was didn’t give 2 cents about the food being served? Is it really that hard to hire a decent cook nowadays after the pandemic? And for crying out loud, it only takes 30 seconds to heat up the iron plates and how can one pawn off such a bad bowl of rice in a Chinese restaurant? I honestly would send this cook packing for retirement if working for me, definitely wouldn’t tolerate this kind of bs jeopardizing my business. I guess I retained my good nature and composure by taking into consideration that the owner/manager was very polite and friendly; very poise and elegant with the services. I guess that’s the only good part of this experience and kept my positivity inlined. Just enjoyed a quick instant noodle when back home lol
I went back for the breakfast. There are a lots of people in the breakfast timing, the breakfast set is cost effective! Will revisit!
Copa Cafe, a popular Hong Kong-style restaurant in Vancouver, is a hidden gem that I frequent when I'm in the mood for a hearty meal. Although there are only two other Hong Kong-style restaurants in Coquitlam, I prefer Copa Cafe for its extensive menu options and exceptional service compared to its competitors. If you become a member, which costs $15 per year, you can enjoy a 10% discount on all orders, which is a great deal. One of the highlights of Copa Cafe is their breakfast menu, which boasts generous portions that won't hurt your wallet despite the current high prices. On my recent visit, I opted for the satay beef noodle and shared the cheese, spinach, and bacon omelette with my husband. We also ordered two cups of their famous Hong Kong-style milk tea. After applying the 10% membership discount, our bill was a reasonable $23 with the tip included. Overall, we were pleased with both the quality and quantity of our breakfast. The flavors were satisfactory, and the portions were generous. Copa Cafe is a must-visit spot for anyone who loves Hong Kong-style cuisine and wants to try something new. The ambiance is cozy, and the service is top-notch, making it an ideal spot for a date or a casual gathering with friends.
Low price, good food. What more can I say? I love Hong Kong food. Copa Cafe has good service, the waiters are attentive, friendly, and efficient. One time, we came here late at night and they still received us and were patient despite us staying beyond their closing time. I’ll always remember the staff’s patience and hospitality. As you can tell, I really like their noodles 😂🍜
This is Hong Kong style fusion restaurant. The selection is quite good for anything from appetizers, steak and fries, to noodles, rice, soup, combos and beverages. There's Western style combo that comes with soup, main and drink & Asian style combo comes with Chinese soup, main and rice, no drink. You may think the price is on the high side but you won't disappoint by the portion. Service is not bad but when is not busy. They are not dial in. They charge $0.50 per take out container that I have no complaint to support the environmental recycling.
Eric who s the waiter has the best attitude to serve us!
ice milk tea taste very bitter even though i added milk into it, probably wont come back again
Always good service here not like the other place nearby, paying to get grumpy face for no reason
Enjoyed the Fish Fillet Stea with Rice/ Hot Milk Tea. Very piping hot dishes and friendly services. Surely missed the location in Vancouver, ( Cambie ) location.
Ordered the breakfast, and congee which was tasteless and watery. Sever that sat us must have been the manager , very rude , she got my order wrong and instead of apologizing she argued with me !
Great food and pricing
The service and the food is good. Especially, the waiter (Eric) his service is really surprising me, he is very kind and political with emailed while he serve us. Its amazing for his service .
I bought his VIP card because it offered a 10% discount, but when I checked out I found out that I couldn t use it and the activity had been changed. Not satisfied, the tip is too small, it s not enough.
Great Hong Kong style food. Hk milk tea is great !!
Paying $80+ for suffering from diarrhea The food was not fresh/tasty. Some of those looked obviously old. The servers were ok.
The soup is delicious. I will come again. Highly recommended.
It tastes good, but it s getting more and more expensive, and the VIP card offers are getting less and less. Parking: Its right at the door. Its a bit sparse. It shares a parking lot with the restaurant and supermarket next to it. But if its not too much trouble, you can park in the parking lot of Walmart next to it.
Please be aware that they stopped the vip 10% discount without notice. Which they charged $18/year. Moreover their toilet is dirty enough. Food
So good that we drank the ice tea immediately
Not a bad Hong Kong diner. Its a bit pricier than other places, and the parking situation isnt great. Food-wise tho, I quite like.
They took away the 10% discount for members without prior notice. What a scam and dishonest merchant.
Still just as good as before except now u can do take out on your favorite items and have a great Netflix n chill night
The food doesnt taste well, I wont come here anymore.
Wide variety of food selection. Service mediocre though. Hit or miss. They are always busy but its a nice casual restaurant. Great to go with friends.
Had lunch on Sunday 5May 2024, ordered ice lemon tea, there is a wooden stir stick coming with the drink, I was breaking the lemon pieces to relief the taste with a spoon since I found the stick too weak for breaking the lemon pieces, all of a sudden the glass of the drink burst with a loud noise and shredded into pieces which shock everybody. The worst experience of this lunch is the manager of this cafe came over and blamed me right away of not using the skinny coffee stick to break lemon without even checking on me if I got hurt from the shredded pieces of glass, he pushed the responsibility away , he said I should use the skinny coffee ,I dont think breaking 4-5pieces of lemon can be done with a stirring stick and a spoon cant break a glass unless the glass is already very tired and ready to break, also if this is the policy of the cafe to break pieces of lemon with the provided stick it should be mentioned or posted when the drink is handed to the customers which they didnt do!!!also the tone he spoke is very offensive and blaming others and trying to push off the responsibility which is totally wrong. This person doesnt very unprofessional and doesnt deserve to work as a manager because this is a very bad image and worst roll model of his staff. Food and the rest of the staff is fine though
Good variety of food items on the menu. Food is tasty.Join VIP member to get discount.
This morning, I came to this Copa Cafe in Coquitlam for a breakfast. I chose A+B which is a Shredded Chicken Mushrooms & Tomato omelette + Shredded pork with salted vegetable macaroni. And a HK style Coffee/tea (aka yin-yang).The size of the omelette is huge, inside is moist and tasty. The portion of the marcaroni is big too. The HK style yin-yang came hot, which is the temp I want. To me, this A+B breakfast can last half a day, without the need to eat lunch. (My personal opinion only). Staff are very courteous, friendly and the restaurant is roomy. There is another similar HK style cafe in the area, where I find the food quality is realatively the same, but I prefer Copa coz price-wide is reasonable. This is the second time I came to this restaurant after the pandemic, the first visit was impressive, today, this restaurant still impresses me, I will try their lunch and dinner soon. Parking: There are many parking spots next and close to the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is spacious and I have seen wheelchair customers in before too.
Food is average -not bad but nothing amazing. Service is poor. Basically, very little service other than the server handing you your dishes and bill. Could not find even one friendly or smiling face during my 1.5hrs meal there. The restaurant also only accepts cash/debit payment if your order is less than $25.
2024-3-11 Breakfast Ive been here before, they open early on Mondays, and Im always satisfied with their breakfast again!
The service is very attentive, the noodle soup for afternoon tea is delicious and the portion is large! Like it!
Its not delicious or friendly, but its really cheap.
Ive been here a few times and the food tastes average. The key is that the waiters generally have a bad face, which really affects my mood. Today while dining, I saw a woman holding a sleeping child in her arms (Approximately five or six years old) When he came in, because the boss was busy, he walked in without waiting for the boss to arrange a seat. This very normal action was scolded by the boss. I have never seen such a bad attitude in the service industry. Do you still think Hong Kong people are superior to others? This is disgusting to me. I have cut off my membership card and will never come here again. Be careful, everyone, you can come if you are not afraid of being criticized or discriminated against!
i threw up my food after 20 mins of it in my body. lamb was cooked on the outside but left raw on the inside. also hair on my plate. soups were cold. basically make you tip the highest percent automatically but you can obviously change it but that s so awkward. portion sizes are big but portion size makes up for the lack of quality. wouldn t even eat there piss drunk cuz i d probs throw it up. an abomination to chinese food. so many better places around the area than copa. and the prices are pretty high for a place that uses canned food and non fresh items.
Saying the minimum 10% of tips, and was really rude while order or paying, not really recommended
Very overrated Hong Kong cafe
When my elderly relative went to pay with cash, they intended to pay for the meal and leave a tip along with the change we would receive. Before even giving the cash to the server, she rudely mentioned that our payment did not contain a minimum of a 10% tip. We are aware that tipping is a common courtesy at most restaurants, but we have never had a server make it seem like a requirement/ask for more.
Food is good but staff only serves Their regular customers first
Their lobster soup is still the best of all
Service is great. Food is ok.
Average
Great Hong Kong style restaurant
Best lamb stew
Waited over 30 minutes after sitting down and ordering before I got my drinks. Waited another 10 minutes onto of the 30 just to get my French toast and baked porkchop on rice. When the banked pork chop on rice arrived it was warm at best. Not coming back again.
Food is overpriced as compared to other Hong Kong style cafes. We ordered 2 Entrée combos with Grill Lamb Shoulder and AAA 6oz New York Steak. Both meat were super dry and tough and had an unfresh freezer taste. Since we were seated near the entrance, the manager was watching me eat the whole time which was weird and uncomfortable. Will not return.
First of all, served me raw chicken. Though they served new fried chicken, they did not give us a discount which may be reasonable, but did not say any apology for the raw chicken itself, but rather had the attitude of hey we gave you new chicken so deal with it . Furthermore, it took over 30 more minutes for the new chicken to come out when the first only took 15 minutes.
Nice restaurant, their food are delicious the environment also clean, the service are amazing and the atmosphere is nice .
I love the Noodles, it was so delicious
Good HK cafe in central location. Food tasty and does the job. Fair prices.
cost effective and tasty
The mutton brisket is stewed over high heat, right! It would be perfect if added with lettuce!
M Cafe is better. Prices are reasonable but getting expensive knowing the hk Cafe prices of the past. Beef brisket was extremely salty and laksa was a joke. Fried tofu was okay but you cant really screw up fried food. Service meh, not bad, not great.
This is my favorite Restaurant in coquitlam. Baked pork chops, fish etc are best in town. This is a must go Restaurant when I am in coquitlam.
We visited only their Coquitlam branch all the time, due to their spacious seating, nice environment, excellent, polite and speed of service, food choices and quality are of top range. Price is very fare as well.
Big portions. Good taste. Friendly service and theyve gotten much better at attending to the guests since my last visit.
Food was so bad, price not cheap, cost 18.99 for mini lunch, gets one drink. I ordered a chicken with cheese with sphgetti, chicken cut in big pieces, dry and tasteless, sauce so dry , hard to finish. A lot of food court food much better than this place. Not worth going , sucks
Came here for dinner. Got the A+B combo (4oz New York steak & Chicken steak with veggies), and Chinese double boil soup combo (picked the Fish and sweet corn). The meals were as expected, HK style. I like the numerous dishes to pick from. Staff were friendly.
Initial vibe for the restaurant was ok BUT I got food poisoning and they did not have very good service. The food was good when I ate it lol 1/4 through the meal gave us our bills and talked to us about how to pay without clarifying if we go to the front or pay at the table. When asking for a reusable container at the very end printed a whole new bill for a 50c charge... Felt like they were trying to make us leave. Other tables w similar groups came at similar times and did not get given their bills like us.
The food quality is good and the price is higher than that of a tea restaurant. You can give it a try
Traditional HK style cafe. Nice!
Had a regular item for late lunch as VIP member, upon payment i noticed that loyalty points was not awarded and when asked what was the reason, I was told that there is an April promotion special kids meal at 50%. I disagreed with the supervisor as I had a regular menu item at regular price but was told it was the companys policy which I find very unfair
Bland. One word says it all. Food is bland, service is bland, atmosphere is bland. This is not comparing against western restaurant, but against other HK cafes. In a pinch, doable, but pedestrian or a little worse if you were to talk about stir-fried dishes. I didnt try any HK style Western dish, so cannot comment on that.
Worst service period. I have never been there before, so I wanted to give it a try. I went there around 4PM and there were only two customs in the restaurant. I stood at the entrance for over than a minute but no one came to greet me. One guy behind the counter saw me at the door but just kept ignoring, so I went in and asked to be seated. Someone pointed a seat when he was doing cleaning. This seat was right beside what he was doing, right, the cleaning site. I came to eat, not to see how you guys doing cleaning, so I asked if I could sit beside the window. There were lots of seats there and they were all empty. The server was very rude and kept saying they were for six people. I said it was not even at the peak and you only had two customs at the time, but this guy insisted that I was not allowed to sit there. It seemed that they didn t care about their business. I left without buying anything. I will not go to this place again and will not recommend this place to any of my friends.
Excellent Hong Kong style cafe. I joined their vip membership and enjoyed 10% off my bill immediately.
My best place for good food and coffee at low prices!
Service, food, very pleasant.
Pleasant place
Delicious food, great atmosphere
A good deal with the lunch combo, just remember dont ask for anything outside the regular fixing. They do nickle and dime you for any changes. Latest May offers for VIP members
The food isnt too bad but personally, as a hk style cafe, they should offer the build-your-noodle-soup combo or at least offset more noodle soup options. I opted for the 3 meatballs and seaweed noodle soup instead and to be honest, it wasnt worth the $20. The balls were cut in half (total of 1 type each). Staff is friendly but I find the menu options and food to be mediocre while the cost is quite pricey.
Not surprised to see many bad reviews here. They gave me the wrong drink and would not change my order. 4 bucks for a tiny tea? Wont be back again.
Be prepared to be disregarded and rudely served (IF) you end up encountering a server with red hair asian lady. My receipt says her name is Cindy. I made an adventure out to coquitlam because i was craving hot and sour noodle soup that ive had at many other copa cafes in the past, my fave location was vancouver which burnt down. But to my shocking disappointment, I noticed the menu looked diff and the item was no longer listed by itself as a stand alone selection and i remember a previous visit at another location my family member had to ask for it and they politely told us alot of items arent displayed anymore on the menu but its in the computer and they do have it. So my family was telling this information to the server Cindy i had to deal with and she really hated her job and gave the worst service ever, she despises questions even if you are chinese. As a customer understand that you have every right to ask any questions you need considering youll be consuming whatever they order, for example if you have an allergy ... you better make sure your server doesnt mind telling you if theres peanuts in that sandwich for example. HENCE her attitude and lack of wanting to even care is terribly unwelcomed. I decided to test the waters and ask so hows your day today are you happy? She responded with what? I repeated myself and she gave me a dirty look walked away. Then walks back and said what your question? And i kindly told her again what i had asked her and pointed out she is very rude and she flicks her hair and says whatever. And then goes and laughs with her co worker. Mind you i am proudly chinese and my english is fluent same goes with my chinese. She probably just assumes if someone speaks 1 word of english that she has a right to bash her customers but obviously anyone in the food industry can understand that type of action and behaviour will find a way to come back and bite you in the butt especially with tools like google reviews and social media. Im a proud foodie and dont mind to vocalize this terrible experience. Shes a disgrace to our culture. RACIST! If youre wondering everybody, yes the restaurant still got a 15% tip because i understand how tough it is out there and that others shouldnt suffer just because she hates her job and hates people.
Basic Hong Kong cafe. Sufficient but nothing spectacular.
Server lady is not kind and professional. Not nice at all. Need better training Food
When I was asking for to-go boxes for my meal, the staff there were very diligent and delivers on-point service. The food is great. The restaurant can be busy, but it always meets the clientele s needs. Thank you, Copa Café!! Kid-friendliness: Kid s Meal is on the menu.
The taste of food is definitely different from hk s style. Taste so bad. The egg is over cooked and the lemon tea is too sweet and has a weird after taste. Will never try it.
No good Expensive but not so good
Used to come here quite a bit but then tried M Cafe just 5 mins away and it s slightly better. Service is good but still would come back as their is the Korean market next door
Food and atmosphere are great and fairly priced. Service can be a little hit or miss, as servers sometimes seem like they do not want to be there.
Not good
Growing up, my family and I would come to this restaurant often. I always loved the food. I recently came in by myself for lunch and was deeply disturbed by the interaction I had with my server. I did not catch her name, but she has a distinct haircut of short red hair. I paid using the machine and planned on leaving a tip in cash (having worked in the service industry myself, I know for a fact that it is better to tip your servers in cash to help avoid kickback fees). However, when she saw that I did not select the tip option on the machine, she VERY loudly cried out, No tip?! It was embarrassing and so incredibly rude of her. The entitlement was off the charts. I explained that I was leaving her cash, but the whole interaction turned me off. I will unfortunately not be coming back to this restaurant, much preferring an establishment that does not humiliate its customers.
Staff are so rude
This place has decent food but absolutely horrible service!I would give them 0 stars if I could. I went there with family and spend a significant amount but had to constantly ask for one thing or other (napkin, plates, water ) and had to wait for awhile to order. I did not deemed the service good enough to tip. The lady chased me to the table and said in a very rude tone why you didn t tip, you need to tip and passed me the machine I was so taken back and explained that the service was not great. She told the other person that was working there and both of them were hovering over me as I got my child off the high chair. As I left, she yelled don t ever come back! Rest assured that I never will, copa cafe! There are many other Asian restaurants in the area that have way better food and service.
Had the red bean ice with ice cream. Enjoyed the vanilla ice cream but did not really care for the red bean. A Hong Kong dessert
We went for a family birthday. They have a huge menu and the food is good. The service was good and fast. We got the discount card, so will definitely come back Parking: Plenty of parking
No one will seat you at the front desk, no one will take your order and sitting down. Put my hand up for five minutes and the servers constantly ignore you. Will never come again, what kind of service is this!
Very very very horrible experience with the upfront service of this restaurant. Had to leave due to the fact that no one would take our order. Do not recommend to anyone.
Breakfast is very cost-effective, the pan-fried chicken steak is highly recommended!
This is the second time I have eaten lamb knuckles. It tastes great and the meat is tender and smooth
Such a friendly restaurant. Much better than M Cafe. Food is great too!
Went to Copa cafe in Coquitlam for dinner last night, flavour was okay but my Portuguese style baked rice with chicken was RAW in the centre, I show it to the waiter and there is no apologies or replacement for my half eaten dish she just said oh, Ill heat up more for you and took my dish back to the kitchen and MICROWAVE IT! After it been microwave the crispy chicken skin became soggy and dont taste very well plus I started having diarrhea since 3am... Probably wont go back again...
Very poor service. I am not going there anymore.
If there was an option for 0 or negative stars, I would choose that. Been here many times over the years. It gets worse and worse. The second last visit, they gave my dad inedible food. It was so bad that he could not even eat it and my dad is a super easy going person who never complains and eats anything. The waiter noticed he couldnt eat the food at all and asked him why. He said it tasted so bad like it was stale and not fresh at all. Instead of taking it back or apologizing, the waiter ASKED IF HE WANTED TO PACK IT TO GO and charged for the container. My dad didnt complain and instead got the bill. For the first time in my dads life (and he has gone to copa a few times before that) he decided not to give tip for the inedible food (which they charged full price) and abhorrent service. THEY THEN INSISTED HE GIVE A TIP BEFORE HE COULD LEAVE. My dad is such a nice person he paid a tip for food he didnt even eat. My very elderly dad was bullied by the restaurant. What is this-? The last time we went was because a friend invited us for a big meal. The terrible service struck again - gave my mom the wrong dish (chicken instead of pork), gave me pasta which was swimming in sauce (more like pasta soup than pasta), and the food had so much msg we were so thirsty. We didnt even bother complaining due to the bad way they treated my dad last time - didnt want to make a scene with friends. To top it off, prices are not cheap at all. Each person dish cost 30-40 after tax! And we arent ordered lobster! Configuration of tables are not round so hard to talk for big tables. Portions are big but quality is so bad (and so much msg) and service so entitled I am shocked they are still in existence. Highly recommend to go to deer garden or yans garden instead of Copa. I usually only write very positive reviews but they treated us so badly I feel I need to speak up. We will never go again.
The price is reasonable, the portions are generous and very delicious.
My family and I came to have breakfast, the manager upfront was very rude to start with no greetings and the tone sounded cold. We got seated and our waiter the girl with short red hair , was very rude and just wanted to rush through the order and got mad when we asked for water instead of tea with meals. I ordered two food and only one came and we waited over an hour for our food to come. When it came to pay , the red hair girl kept looking at the machine trying to make sure we tipped her. It felt uncomfortable as you re trying to put your pin and she s hovering over you. The costumer service in this restaurant is just awful overall. And the guy upfront the manager you can tell was rushing everyone to eat their food and get out right away. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Food was great, prices were decent. However, service was questionable. Was told by an employee to not hold hands with my partner at the restaurant, I understand it s a family restaurant but holding hands should be ok
The food portion is small. Price expensive. Food quality is average. Clean and tidy. Not lousy good for a friend chat
If you are craving for Hong Kong style café food, this would be one of the places to go in Coquitlam. Ok service overall.
Like the food is a kind of a hit or miss. Like I remember getting one of the hot plate combo meals and it being really good and my friend getting one of the ramens and it was just so terrible I felt so bad for her. The combo I got was huge and it included soup, bread and butter, the main meal which was chicken steak and some other meat I dont remember with a side of vegetables in your choice of what sauce you wanted and the side of fries, on top of that a free hot drink but a dollar more if you want a cold drink. Either way, it was two meals in one. Parking: Kind of hard to find parking during peak hours so I sometimes recommend just parking across the street at the mall
Avoid this restaurant, got food poisoning from the food, must avoid. Undercooked meat.
Dinner is so hard to eat No, Pack it and leave it alone, don t wash it and pack it
Super yummy pork in tomato sauce, large portions and plenty for leftovers!
One of the worst restaurants in lower mainland. They had some extremely rude staffs whenever we went in to dine in person. I really liked their food, but wanted to avoid interacting with their staffs for their poor attitudes, so this morning I tried to convince my family to place a food delivery with them. Poor communications from the restaurant - took them 10 minutes to accept my order, and when we received our food, one of dishes we ordered was not there - on the receipt they simply wrote not available and that WAS it! If the item is not available, you COMMUNICATE with your customers and let them know! You do not pretend to be preparing the dish and let the food delivery platform charge the customer for a dish you don t make. Their lack of communication, and their attitudes of rudeness and entitlement have really made me doubt if I ever want to set my (virtual) foot in their store again. ADVICE: please avoid dining in here at all costs. Or you would be guaranteed to feel FED up.
Good quality and cheap~
Very tasty breakfast and price is reasonable
Authentic Hong Kong style food. Clean place and plenty of parking in the plaza. Lots of food selections on the menu and all the foods that I tried were yummy. Their service was better than other Hong Kong style restaurants. They take credit, debit and cash.
Good food, great value. Staff are kind but average. Nothing remarkable except the value received here. If you can see yourself eating here often, then the copa cafe rewards card is worthwhile. Earn points to be redeemed towards your purchase and get perks as part of their promotions that happen at least every month.
My go to Hong Kong style diner, food and service is very good. I would come here again but It s in a small plaza with busy traffic so I d be careful when parking.
I was having a busy day today and was pretty hungry when I got the restaurant. The waitress was super impatient with my questions about the menu and even teased me that I am a glutton. I am sorry but am I paying for the disrespectful service?? I will never come back again even though the food is not bad
One of our favorite place for brunch. The sitting setup is good for a family of 3. Pricing and value ratio is good. I would recommend this to friend and family.
I had to take my leftover home so asked one of the servers to give me a plastic bag. He said, We dont have plastic bags with a negative tone of voice, but he was staring at the pin pad while I was paying to see how much tip I would give him. His service was poor but his expectation was so high. I gave tip but it was for the lady who was nice and was serving right way. It was my first at Coquitlam location to dine but wont go again.
Thanks for Globalism, prices are raised to maintaing quality and portion here.
The environment is okay, but the tables inside are too compact and very close to the next table. During the pandemic, it doesn t feel very safe. The food is quite delicious, but the overall price is a bit expensive. Yesterday we ordered the radish beef brisket set and the black pepper pork knuckle set. Beef brisket with radish: The beef was soft and rotten, but the radish had no flavor at all. Black Pepper Pork Knuckle: What s very thoughtful about their restaurant is that their pork knuckles are cut into slices, which is very convenient to eat and tastes good. Another problem with this store is that they only accept visa, debit and cash. Overall, this store is quite satisfactory and the taste is okay. If you like soup, you can choose to come here. Their set menu comes with soup.
HK style cafe. Mastercard is not accepted here.
Affordable and tasty classic Hong Kong style breakfast is the highlight of Copa for me. Generous portions & reasonable prices. Consistent quality. One of the few places near coquitlam and surrey where you can get good HK style breakfast which has always been a favourite of mine growing up as a kid. Service is par for the course, it isnt bad perse, but its what youd expect from a HK joint, efficient & right to business. Must tries here are the breakfast (very busy on weekends), specifically the rice noodles (mai sin) with satay beef and their French toast western combos.
Great food for the money
Hong Kong style cafe, good consistency on food.
My family loves coming to this HK style cafe, at least once a month. The menu is on the pricier side but the portion sizes make up for it. Personally, I prefer the Coquitlam location over the Richmond one.
The house special bake pock chop on rice tastes very good, and I like the beef rice noodle a lot,it comes with the hot drink, recommend the hongkong style hot milk tea.!
Food is not bad as your everyday Hong Kong cafe style restaurant. However, we ordered a kids meal, and when my kids were waiting for the ice cream, then we had to call the server over and then found out they don t serve kids meal with ice cream or any dessert anymore. Is that called false advertising? It s on their menu and not only they didn t advise us beforehand, they also charged the full price. A bit disappointed.
Good place to get breakfast or lunch with family
I visited Copa Cafe for a Hong Kong style meal and was disappointed with the food. While there were many options available, the food itself was only average. However, the restaurant decor was quite nice. The hostess seemed flustered and we ended up waiting an hour for our meal even though we had reservations. Overall, the experience wasn t the best. They only accept Visa if you spend over $25, otherwise it s debit or cash.
Awesome food, family vibe. Very busy place, but this just shows how good the food is!
It s one of the restaurants in our neighborhood that we go for breakfast or dinner every now and then. The food is not bad, traditional HK style, however we had very unpleasant experience with their service this time. We ve ordered Baked Ox tongue on rice w/ tomato sauce, which s served in a super hot dish on a place, the waiter didn t warn us it s hot so my husband touched the edge of the hot dish accidentally and burned his finger. We asked some ices to treat the finger. They saw what we were doing with the ices but didn t say anything. My husband reminded them that they should have waned the clients about the hot dish, just a few simple words would help to prevent the incident, but the waitress replied right away the hot dish is supposed to be hot , sth like that, implying that it was our own fault, without showing any sympathy. What kind of customer service so disappointing. My husband ended up finishing the meal with that finger in the iced water all the time.
Very attentive customer services.... food is served hot... very good experience
Beware of Japanese Tonkatsu Combo menu! You wont be getting tonkatsu at all. You will get choices of soup, noodle and side dishes. The waiter didnt even know what tonkatsu at all and could not explain. So yeah... I thought Id be getting a tonkatsu set with small udon soup as side dish but turned out a large bowl of udon noodle only. LOL. whoever the one made the menu need to be educated in food.
Very good food but customer service is very bad, specifically with the hostess which is very rude
Good Hong Kong food. Portion sizes are big. Highly suggest for big groups for casual dinner. Food is kind of addicting. Bought the points card for $15
Had to come here because M-cafe was on holidays. Host had attitude, servers were slow. Food was ok. Been to this location twice, both times werent the best experience.
Food is great and portions are very large. Good value!
Poor customer service. Clam chowder tasted like water with clams and white colouring. Fries were bland. HK coffee/tea tasted bad. Charged us 15% tips even though they separated us into 2 groups of 6 sitting far apart on ends of the restaurant. Additionally, they failed to inform us that 15% tips is included in the bill. Thats standard practise to inform customers that the tips are I clouded in the bill. Very bad service and no customer service at all.
The waiter didnt understand. I ordered two meals and only got one. Please hire some employees with good attitudes. If you take it away, you still get angry.
Relatively affordable HK style food. Not many of these left. Table service is okay, and food is good. Great variety of food at different times of the day, also a constant rotation of specials.
Currently, my favourite HK breakfast in the city. A short walk from Lincoln skytrain and parking in the plaza. Lots of variety, your classic A+B kind of deal starts from $12.75. There are some subs I always get like substituting regular toast or hashbrowns to french toast for $1. I really like their chicken steak for the noodle dish which is also an extra $1 but it feels worth it to me. The chicken steak reminds me of the famous chicken wings from Aberdeen. Most noodle types are $1 extra but, the portion is huge! When I eat this in the morning, I can be full until dinner :) For around $15 total, I feel like its well worth it. Wash it all down with a hot milk tea!
The chef was not the chef who made the food years ago.
Went there with a friend for dinner. The service was good, they were patient with us as we figured out what we wanted. I ordered the BBQ pork with noodles HK style which was great. Would definitely come again.
I ordered takeout and ordered spaghetti. A male manager called me three times and refused to admit it, insisting that what he gave me was spaghetti. After finally taking a picture for him, he shamelessly said that their spaghetti is flat.
The meal was very unpleasant. Already stressing about ordering spaghetti, I placed the wrong order and made three phone calls to come back and argue that it was spaghetti. Its very uncomfortable to answer the phone while eating.
nice place to eat at! its just i wasnt allowed to get a kids menu when i wanted something from it because they said i was way too old for it, and the way they said it was really rudely, which upset me a bit. but, dw i ended up stealing some from my brother edit: went from a four star to one star. today was my second time eating here, and once again, the servers were really rude and impatient. wouldve given a 20% tip normally, but it immediately went back down to a one star.
Recently , I order 2 main courses in Coquitlam Copa Cafe My family and I all taste those food are extra salty. It was so disappointing for that I will not recommending my friends to visit this restaurant again.
Went on a weekday evening and the place was quite empty. One or two tables were occupied and there was no wait to be seated. Servers were able to speak English, Cantonese, and Mandarin throughout our time there. Ordered the cumin ribs and the baked pork chop over rice. The dishes took some time to be prepared, but they arrived hot and fresh. The soup that came with the ribs was flavourful and warm. The ribs had quite a strong flavour and were very crunchy. The pork chop and rice was baked nicely and the cheese mixed in well with everything else. The flavours were authentic and is very much a comfort food. The staff did not rush us out after we finished our meal and offered refills on the tea. Price was reasonable and there was enough to take leftovers home in the end. Would recommend for a casual meal.
My 2 year s old child was playing a spice bag on neighbour table. A waiter there were rude to him. How could you blame a 2 year s old child? You have so many ways to teach him. But you choose the most mean one! Don t go there!
terrible service, horrible staff who are rude and racist to their patrons. I ate food from here and got food poisoning for the next few days. They treat people from Hong Kong terribly and treat every other race even worse.
We ordered three cups chicken and was super disgusting by not even the original one but was wondering they may not know how to make this dish and expensive only came with very small portion. And the lemon tea was very bitter not even have any lemon test.
Dine-in is OK, takeout is always missing. They didnt give me soup last time, and they didnt give me drinks today. Have to check carefully!
Food is not as good as before. But service is still pretty good.
Great HK style Cafe. Super friendly staff
I come here to eat a few times a month. Food is usually good. Service is the usual Asian restaurant type of service. An Hong Kong style restaurant I would recommend.
Parking: During peak hours hard to find parking .cashier is rude , tactless. Completely no service at all . Typical of an Asian restaurant . Have not been here a long time and back for a take out . Service worse than before . And they expect tips for service that s so ridiculous . If possible avoid .
The service attitude of the young male waiter was very bad, which I have never experienced in many years in Vancouver.
Nice Hongkong style cafè. Staff were very polite and efficient. Covid measures are strictly followed. Staff wore masks and gloves. Menu/placemats is one time used. Staff cleaned table right away after customers left. Very happy to see that. Food was very good. Came out hot and tasty. Milk tea was nice. Can be a bit hotter. But that is my personal liking. Over all. Very good experience. Will definitely come back for more of their many choices on menu.
Safety first, but please note that they will not accept a paper vaxx card. Have your QR code ready of youd like to dine in!
Good parking place. Check up of Covid-19 QR code & drivers license. 5 person visited. We order Chinese Double Boil Soup Conbo. Menu 7, Green Onion Checken. & Menu 35, Stir fry seasonal Vegetables in garlic bean paste. Menu 49, Souteed Beef /Rice noodle in swiss souce.-- $16.75. And traditional Chinese tee ... Good delicious. & good sering too
