1163 Pinetree Wy, Coquitlam, BC V3B 8B7, Canada
It is a Korean Fusion Restaurant that serves a variety of authentic Korean foods along to the alcoholic beverages including well known Korean spirit Soju. It has unique and comfortable decor that embodies a street pub setting in South Korea. Located inside the Henderson mall near Coquitlam Centre (1st floor south direction)
Of the -many- Korean restaurants I've tried, this place has my favorite iteration of Army Stew (budae-jjigae) so far. I usually enjoy it with their pa dak chicken. Always hits the spot!
Very friendly staff and great food. Pitcher is cheaper than other places and the restaurant seems very clean and tidy.
Ideal for late-night hangouts with its midnight closing time. This place exceeded our expectations with the delicious cheese buldak and beef yakiudon we tried. However, it's a bit on the pricey side!
The jokbal (pork hock) salad with jellyfish was very unique and tasty. It is the dish that sets this restaurant apart from others in my opinion. However, everything else I’ve tried at this restaurant were average and didn’t stand out to me
My hubby’s sister came to visit us, she would like to try Korean food. We came across this restaurant. We ordered the pork hocks with oriental herbs, boiled squid, army soup and honey butter chicken. I would strongly recommend the pork hocks, even I’m not a fan of pork hocks but this is one of the best hocks I have tried so far.
I went to this restaurant with a few buddies after exercising at the aquatic center. It was about a 2 minute walk from the nearest free parking around 7:00pm. It was decently cold but I was well-dressed so it was okay. We sat down and got the booth which had more than enough room for our party of four and the menu was very easy to understand with pictures and a small but tasty selection. We ended up getting the Tebboki or however you say it, some honey butter chicken, some fried squid, as well as the kimchi. The chicken gave me a mouth orgasm, although, this could have been because I was rather inebriated on various cannabis products. However, I blinked and the food was gone. My spice tolerance is also decently high, so beware people that are not used to spicy food the tebboki might be a bit much. However, the rice offset the spicy flavour and made the meal a very good combo to eat together. 5/5 would recommend to people. Good service as well.
Friendly staff and good portions, perfect for a late night out with friends or family :) We had the padak, army soup, cheese corn with butter, kimchi pancakes, and galbi !
Very authentic. Feels like a small diner in Korea, even has the call bell button at the table. Food was authentic too... really well rounded spicy dishes. Spaced out, cozy seating, private. Dishes are large, for sharing family style.
I ordered the soft tofu pot for takeout. There was wire inside the rice (maybe it was in the tofu soup). It should be the steel wire balls that fell off after cleaning the kitchen utensils.
I had a terrible experience with this restaurant. I ordered from here and they sent the wrong food without the drink. I called them and tried to explain but the lady couldnt speak English which was very frustrating. Then I had to eat the food I hadnt ordered which wasnt worse that price. Not recommended at all.
Great food (the fried chicken was absolutely delicious), had a very enjoyable time with my friends on Canada day, nice atmosphere (we had the large booth and it was very nicely decorated), and extremely friendly service
A neat Korean restaurant located at Henderson Mall. Their food is good and they dont mark up their prices for UberEats or DoorDash, which makes them a solid choice for delivery orders. The benefit of dining in is that their side dishes are complimentary, whereas its not for takeout/delivery.
This restaurant reminds me of Korean Pocha. The price and taste are great! I highly recommend stir-fried sundae.
Quiet environment and awesome food
Best spicy chicken padak
fried chicken is very impressive. Light batter. Crispy, tasty. Thank you! ( )~~
Maybe its because its been a while since I visited, or maybe it was just today, but the portion of Janchi noodles I ordered was a bit small and the noodles were so dry that they fell apart before I could chew them. So I asked the server to make it again, and he said he would just make the noodles again. Then they told me to dip it in the original noodles and eat it... I was a little confused. We went around 8pm on a weekday and we were the only customers. The pigs trotters that I ordered together were very different from the picture and maybe they were cold and hard to begin with... I asked the server and he said that he had never received a complaint about pigs trotters, so I thought it was just a personal difference and didnt eat it and paid for it. Usually, if the food is not in good condition, we dont give a discount or charge... We were told that we could just eat the noodles and leave, but we just left. If the food is not in good condition, its right to apologize first, but this is the first time Ive seen this kind of service at a Korean restaurant... Im also sorry to my foreign friend who went with me. I felt so uncomfortable the whole way home that I thought about going back because I wanted a refund. For your information, when I visited several times before, the food was very good and I liked the service. Its just a shame.
Extremely disappointing.. As much as I went often and liked it, Im still very disappointed, so Im leaving a late review. Ive always had delicious kimchi rolled noodles and chicken stir-fry here, so I drove for over an hour to come here on purpose... I wanted to try something else and ordered pigs feet, but the pigs feet were so hard, thin, and tasteless that I wondered if I had made a mistake with cold vegetable pigs feet. What is this with real friends? No matter how much I ate it, it was really not delicious. Ive been to almost all Korean restaurants in Vancouver, but this is the first time Ive had pigs feet that were this tasteless. But it wasnt cheap... It was so dry, hard, and tasteless that the three of us couldnt eat it (in terms of taste, it was so dry without any juice that it felt like chewing straw, and even on the outside, it didnt have the unique shine of pigs feet at all), and honestly, peoples tastes may differ and it was only for that day. It may have come out particularly tasteless. Restaurants cant always be good, so I understood that and gave good feedback to the server, but all I could say was that there had been no complaints and the recipe hadnt changed in 10 years... (But the review immediately says that the pigs feet are not tasty) The noodles came out so swollen that I couldnt even lift them with tongs, and while I was asking for the noodles again, even the pigs feet were so tasteless... I wondered why I had come all the way here for over an hour. Excluding the time we had to order/wait for our food, it took less than 10 minutes for our food to come out, so we asked for a bill and left. The food really wasnt right so we couldnt eat it and we waited too long for the noodles, but we only got a message saying that they never received any complaints. We were trying to give positive feedback, but we felt a bit bitter. The server didnt speak in a rude tone, but in the end, it was embarrassing to give feedback about what he said. It was very sad to see all of our food left in a mess and still get paid for it in full. Really, if you had at least offered to change our food to something else, apologized for the noodles, offered a discount or a refund, or something a little different on the spot, I dont think I would have thought about writing a Google review today just because it was bad.. 1 I feel bitter and regretful that I spent over 10 minutes running and paying $44 for food I barely ate. I was thinking about going back and getting a refund, but since it was a waste of money to pay for gas, I just went. It was dinner that day, but the three of us hadnt eaten since early in the morning, so we were even more upset because we had come here to eat properly. We had always liked this place so we had high expectations... The food was delicious, but the response was inadequate and we were left with friends. Its a shame that I will never go to a restaurant I liked again.
Beer on tap is cheap - $19 a pitcher. Food is generally expensive and generally not recommended.
Place is slightly below average for a Korean restaurant in this area. We had the kimchi pancake, tofu-seafood soup and beef ribs. The ribs were good, but presentation on a aluminum foil was sloppy. The tofu soup was missing depth, very watery,. The kimchi pancake was soft, fell apart as you picked it up, but tasted good still. The most disappointing was the side dishes; Im never been to. Korean restaurant with no kimchi as a side dish, and these sides (see photo) were very lazy. The edamame werent even salted, just warm.
small side dishes, the rice ball was good but portions are a little small for the price
The honey chicken was amazing and the service was fast and kind. I would reconmend the pairing it with a import though.
The owner is friendly and the food is delicious.
A good little spot to tuck away on a rainy day.
Really really highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!!! Its so so delicious!!!!!!! The atmosphere is no joke!!!!!! Naengchae Jokbal is delicious!
Love it !!!! Always great
Ordered the short beef ribs, $21. Its was good.
Great food. The Omurice and Pa Dak is amazing.
Awesome food
I enjoyed it and it was delicious. Thank you, sir, for your kind service.
Very tasty Korean food, the pork hock is amazing
I came here with my family last weekend, and we all enjoyed it here, it felt very authentic. TIP: enter from the outside of the mall. Walked circles around Henderson before realizing the main entrance is not inside lol. We ordered deep fried squid, and deep fried sweet potato, and both were tasty, but the basket they came in was greasy/sticky. The seafood pancake had lots of squid and shrimp pieces in it, and the edges were nice and crispy. The seafood tteokbokki and the sauce in was cooked in was delicious. The clam soup was GREAT, a light and clear soup, but the flavour was amazing, and tons of clams for everyone. I dont eat chicken but my family was raving about the Pa Dak chicken, both in taste and texture. The star of our dinner was Spicy Baby Octopus that was on special, written on a chalkboard: Great mix of veggies and noodles under the octopus to help soak up that super good spicy sauce, and even though I was full towards the end of dinner I wanted more! However there are not many veggie options. Im a pescetarian so I give 5stars on my experience, but I have many vegans in my circle, and I wouldnt be able to take them here. However if you have vegetarians in your life that eat eggs, the steamed egg side dish was good, according to my family!
Great service. This restaurant offers an authentic Korean restaurant experience. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable.
Delicious food! Well balanced flavours.
I dont know if youre only going for a drink, but... I dont think you should go there with the idea of going for a meal. While my husband and I were going for a drink, I really wanted tteokbokki, so I asked for it to be packaged... but the portion was really, really small! I think its about 20 dollars for one person...
Nice vibes to drink foods are just generally good as Anju
Good patio and good food here.
This place has amazing taste. Food, Place, mood is perfect for drinking with your friends. Best Korean food Ive had in Coquitlam. Cheers
Menu wasnt the easiest to navigate but the food was great, I love that fried chicken!
very very friendly service and great food !!
If you want to try Korean food, I highly recommend. My favorite menu is Kimch Jeon.
dont get to wild or youll guaranteed run into your family friends here and dishonour your mother
Delicious food, friendly environment, professional service! Must visit place in coquitlam
Delicious, clean and plentiful
I highly recommend the seasoned golbaengi here. The portions are plentiful and delicious. I would like to visit again.
comfortable and nice vibe.. and reasonable price
A place where you can enjoy 70.80.90 s Korean music.
A really delicious house. A house I want to go to again.. A taste that everyone loves...
Always~~best!!!
it is delicious
Green onion chicken is right
I ordered pigs feet.... Absurd price for the amount Absurd taste....
When you wanna feel something else style of food. I recommend here. you will not disappointed.
I was not impressed by the food at all. The honey butter chicken was mediocre at best. The other Korean dishes are more like confusion rather than fusion.
Pretty nice place but little bit over price.
Daegu stew is so delicious!
This is my favorite restaurant the food is so good its like heaven, the chef is super talented. My favorites are the Honey Butter Chicken and the Spicy Pa-dak.
Great place for fried chicken and beer. Food is tasty and prices are reasonable.
The food tastes good and is cooked to order, but the price is a bit high.
Great place for beer and appetizers. The place has a classic Asian bar vibe as a great place to have a beer with friends. The food taste pretty good for bar food but in terms of restaurant quality its okay. There are Phila places for Quality Asian Cuisine if youre looking for food only.
Not bad
Good Korean restaurant. If you miss Korean Chimaek you must go there.
Was really yummy. Great service. Reasonable prices. Decor not too fancy but for daily fare who cares? Ill be back!
The kimchi rolled noodles are really delicious. If you come to Fusion Pocha, be sure to try the kimchi rolled noodles.^^
good service
We ordered a spicy padak chicken. The chicken was very airy as it was more batter than chicken. Rice was very wet and sticky. I dont know if this is their style but it wasnt worth it for what I was paying.
First time here and ordered a sliced pork dish and a blood sausage dish, both not labelled as spicy. When the dishes came, they were drenched in hot sauce and were ridiculously spicy. We notified the waitress and they just brushed it off as normal. We had to rinse the food in bowls of hot water before it was tolerable, which left behind water that was blood red. We had to ask repeatedly just to get some cold water, and we had to repeatedly wait for hot water because they dont keep any hot water on hand. Place was empty on a Saturday evening.
Ive tried many korean restaurants in the Greater Vancouver area, but this one is the best!
Food was good nothing to write home about. Service was a tad bit lacking
Dont know what was up with the other user but they literally give you a button to press for service, very prompt.
