Excellent service! She was so nice and sweet! Portions could be bit bigger but the quality was amazing! I love the green onion salad dish.

My husband tried to dine here for lunch and they denied service because they would only accept 2+ groups. Yes it was at the Coq location, and he was rejected at the door, he didnt even get to look at a menu.

I paid for the meal, but the service attitude was poor. In the end, the bill was overcharged. Fortunately, I found out in time.

Nice little Korean BBQ spot, what did it for me was great high quality cuts of meat and their green onion salad to go with the BBQ is top notch and tough to find anywhere else. Keep up the good work.

Better than expected, a bit expensive

The quality of their meat compared to other Korean bbq in town. Tender without tendons or any chewing bits beautiful marbling of the beef. It s on a different level, as if comparinf toyota to mercedes. Amazing food. Amazing staff amazing price.

My favorite korean bbq place in town! The food was phenomenal, the service was excellent, and the ambience was really cool. The restaurant was impeccably clean, the service was fast and efficient, super helpful, and we enjoyed the entire experience from beginning to end. The cuts of meat were wonderful! The condiments provided at the table were salt, sesame oil, and a spicy bean sauce. They also provided kimchi, daikon radish, and soy bean soup. I would give them 6 stars if I could, and cannot WAIT to go back!

Excellent Korean BBQ, the service was outstanding

My friend and I went for dinner a few days ago. The restaurant was small, just us and another table of Korean guests, and they were very, very noisy! ! ! We really regret our visit. The waiter never corrected the impact they had on other guests and we had to endure it until we finished our meal. Like many previous reviews from customers, the restaurant environment, food quality, taste and price did not match. The total cost of food and tips for the two of us was about $130. We will never go there again.

You cant judge a book by its cover cause you will miss out on a very good Korean restaurant. Theres really no decor but the meat, all the other food and service are so good! Highly recommend this gem.

Last night, I visited here for the first time with my friend. I feel so happy to have found the best BBQ place. Especially, the atmosphere of the place and the servers were so friendly that my friend and I could have a more enjoyable time. I am sure will come back.

Ive been to several BBQ places. Sadly to say, I like this one the least out of them all. The taste just isnt good for me. Not sure exactly why. Maybe its the way they marinate the meat.

What Korean bbq place tells a party of 6 they can only stay there for an hour? One that sees several trans-people walk in the door. From the moment my party walked in the hosts were clearly checking the time, asking how long til the rest of the party arrives (we were 10 min behind), being clear that there is only a 1 hour time limit, that it doesnt matter if we are late, we will have to eat and go by then. We left to enjoy ourselves at another Korean bbq place very happy to have us stay as long as we wanted to and enjoy ordering extra food, extra drinks, and drop $300 between us all

Delicious Korean BBQ. Would recommend to try this restaurant if youre in the area. Korean BBQ can be a bit pricey, but worth it.

Do not recommend especially if youre friends with Dorothy, staff are rude, micro aggressive, and discriminatory. First minute we walked through the door we were harassed, they wouldnt guide us through the menu process, recommend anything, aggressively telling us our group of 6 (under a reservation), have only an hour to order and eat, not just once but every couple of minutes, while the other staff stared us down. We ended up leaving as it was made abundantly clear they didnt want us sitting in their space for long. Your intolerance is showing and I will let others know.

The marinated beef ribs was overall the best. The gifted soup was also delicious. Food comes really fast and the teenager boy was quick to fulfill demands. The price is cheaper compared to other Korean BBQ restaurants (we were completely full after coming out, we though there won t be as much but the amount exceeded my expectations).

Pork belly is super fresh that the outside gets super crispy while juice is contained inside. Both pork belly and beef rib melt as soon as you take a bite. Strongly recommend to finish your bbq meal off with cold noodle. Spicy naengmyun is AMAZING!

I was hosting an international artist who came to Vancouver for his performance and we decided to go to a Korean BBQ restaurant. Service - 5/5. Kind, attentive, refilled side dishes at once and replaced the grills as requested. Atmosphere - 4.5/5. It was clean and cozy. It wasnt anything fancy, but well organized. Food - I thought the pork belly and marinated pork were just alright. It wasnt mind-blowing. I think its because the fire was really weak until one of the employees came to turn it up. However, my wife really liked the pork belly and also loved the marinated pork. Interesting... - The meat was quite fresh. - The bean paste soup comes with the BBQ was so-so. - Was expecting a few more side dishes tbh. I would give 4/5 but taking half a star off, because they do not have Ssamjang ( ) - the chili paste + bean paste blended sauce. Come on, its like pasta/pizza without Parmesan, or french fries without ketchup! They had their own version of sriracha-style liquid chili sauce ( ?), but it really didnt convince me. I mean, seriously... :( The only two sauces I usually eat with Korean BBQ is Ssamjang or sliced raw onions/chives in sweet soy sauce. This place did not carry any of my two favourite (and most common) sauces. So I left the restaurant in confusion. The dinner went well, but didnt get that satisfaction I usually get after having Korean BBQ. Since the service was great and most of the food was decent, Ill still come back again. / ...? :)

Fresh and quality cut meats but service is only so so.

A bit on the pricier side but soooo worth it. We got the marinated and fresh short ribs and it literally melted in my mouth . And all the side dishes?!?! Sooooo good thé jalapeño and onion side dish was amazing and the service was extraordinary. We will be back to try the pork mains.

My go to spot for K-BBQ. Better than Kosoo and Chosun. I typically order the marinated beef short rib and skin on pork belly. Meat quality and flavour is good and consistent, their sides a great too. I just wish they had the potato side dish. I eat lunch here almost weekly

High quality meats every time even it s a lil bit on a pricey side but it s so worth it Friendly service and amazing side dishes too. But the new Gamjatang dish they recently introduced truly takes the spotlight here. I can t imagine myself eating Gamjatang anywhere else!

The meat is always so delicious that I only eat it when I come to this restaurant. When ordering gamjatang at other restaurants, it didnt taste like the taste you get in Korea, but the gamjatang on the new menu really tasted like the taste you get in Korea. I used to go only when I wanted meat, but now I have to go there even when I want gamjatang. This is the only place I go to eat Korean Barbecue. Their quality of meat is outstanding compared to other K-barbecue restaurants. And the new menu Gamjatang has the closest taste to Gamjatang in Korea. Masterful dishes that brings back nostalgia 10/10.

There are many Korean restaurants in Coquitlam, but it is by far the best Korean restaurant recognized by Koreans that cannot be compared. The reason is simple. If you cant visit all the Korean restaurants and taste them, dont hesitate to go to Galbi.

I went for lunch, and it smelled a bit like marbled meat and was greasy, and I didnt like the seasoning of the marinated pork ribs. I really wish there was some raw garlic or onion to roast with the meat. The soybean paste stew that came with it was delicious.

We tried Korean BBQ for the first time. It is a smaller restaurant and quite loud. Ordered brisket & marinated short ribs (found ribs to be gristly) . The short ribs & salad were seasoned nicely. The bean paste stew and the kimchi tasted great. We paid $35 per person for lunch so it is more on the expensive side. We wish the menu was easier to read and that there would be some instructions with the grill as we had a fairly large fire. Staff was very personable & friendly. It was very busy when we went. The people sitting next to us at the shared table were not impressed by our fire or my lack of chopstick skills so I will have to practice or bring a fork if that is not considered rude. It was definitely an experience though.

Best fresh short ribs and pork belly Ive ever had!! And plus this place has outside skirt that no other restaurant in vancouver has!!! Friendly server and food serve is really fast and free bean paste stew is soooo good,,, and the salad sauce? is just speechless and wonderful. I want to evangelize it to everyone! My favorite kbbq place in Vancouver! I visited a famous kbbq spot in LA and found myself missing this place instead. I ve been here many times and I ve been wanting to leave them a review they deserve but I kept procrastinating. We love that this place has a simple and no fuss menu, sticking to the basics of kbbq and doing it well. What this means to us is excellent meat quality, fast and friendly service and reasonable prices. They also provide a soup with the bbq meats that we love - very hearty on a cold day. The staff are always friendly and attentive. We never had trouble asking for raw garlic, more sauces or a lettuce refill. Of course, we never abuse this and we stick within reasonable limits. I almost never have trouble getting a table by walking in. I always find myself thinking they deserve more customers but also selfishly hoping they don t get too busy so I can still walk in easily. I do hope they continue to be successful so they can stay around for a long time.

Raw ribs, seasoned ribs, and cold noodles... (seriously the best) I cried after eating raw ribs because it was so delicious. Did the owner see it? After eating seasoned ribs and cold noodles, there was a lot of applause. Did the owner hear me? If you cant see or hear it, Ill make it louder next time you visit. Wow! Such a great set up they have here. The BBQ burners built into table. The BBQ menu items cone with complimentary Kim Chi Pickled Onion and Peppers & Pickled Radish. I literally couldnt get enough of these. The cuts of meat with the BBQ order were top quality and prepped to a suitable size for making a wrap with the lettuce provided to make a wrap. The complimentary soup with the BBQ had tofu in it, I dont usually order tofu items but it was really tasty. We also orderd a Gamjatang Pork Back bone Soup / Hotpot . It was really delicious. All the while the gorgeous waitress was really helpful, taking away dishes we finished with, giving advice, offering more Pickled Kim chi when I finished what I had. Watching and observing in real time to offer help and anything needed and changing the burner plate and turning off the heat tk the Gamjadang when it was done. I cant wait to go here for lunch or dinner again. It was a really nice lunch. Now I have a better idea how to eat it now and make it into a wrap! Parking: Its a Plaza with several parking spots. Vancouver doesnt have enough dedicated Korean BBQ joints, so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that Galbi Korean BBQ had just opened this past summer in an online search. We made the trek over from Vancouver to Coquitlam to have dinner here on Christmas Eve and it was well worth the trip. There is a minimum of 2 BBQ item orders, and we got the marinated short rib and ogyeopsal (pork belly with skin). Every table also gets plenty of side dishes including a fresh, piping hot bowl of doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). The meats were incredibly high quality - the short rib was juicy and tender, and the pork belly melts in your mouth and pairs perfectly with the spicy ssamjang paste and lettuce wraps. Service was also warm and efficient, especially when we needed multiple lettuce and ssamjang top-ups. Its not the cheapest place for Korean BBQ dishes, but if youre looking for a traditional and authentic Korean BBQ experience, Galbi is the place to go. The 2 meats we ordered could have easily fed 3 people, and we were stuffed and satisfied after our meal. Well definitely be back in the future!

I think its the best quality meat in Vancouver. The side dishes that come with it also feel like they were made with a lot of care. Naengmyeon can also be said to be a Naengmyeon restaurant. Overall, the food is very delicious. The staff were also very friendly, so I was grateful. As I was writing the review, I thought about it again and started drooling .

The space was also so lacking in ventilation that they had to prop the door open... and its still a little cold for that, especially for the table right by the door. Would definitely recommend making a reservation!

Friendly service and they have all the essentials! The quality and cut of the pork jowl is the best I ve had out of many Korean bbq places in Coquitlam. The marinated pork rib is amazing too! Just two servings of meat and the cold noodles are more than enough for two people.

One of my familys new Korean restaurants in Coquitlam. Quality meat and fresh side dishes. Love their mixed salad bowl smothered in oriental mustard dressing. Their sam gyub sal (pork belly strips) are juicy and tangy. Be sure to order nangmyun (cold noodle) to calm tour taste buds. Servers are well-trained and make sure you get refills on side dishes. We are definitely going back!

We ve been wanting to try Korean BBQ and after hearing good reviews, we went to Galbi Korean BBQ at Pinetree Village in Coquitlam. It was SO good and everything was very fresh. The meat was SO tender! We ordered two combos that came with a half-size cold buckwheat noodles: Marinated Pork Short Rib with regular cold noodles and skin-off Pork Belly with spicy cold noodles. All the food was seasoned well. I liked it because it was different from other meat restaurants, but I miss the plain taste it used to have... On the way home, the salty taste keeps lingering in my mouth. Too salty, and msg. But nice fresh meats.

This is a place where you would go to actually taste meat. I tried their marinated short rib, fresh short rib and fresh Jowl and wow they were all soooo good. They bring out truly the gold standard quality meat and my taste buds definitely had a great time. All of their side dishes are super tasty too. My favorite was the bean paste stew. This one tasted exactly like what you would get when you go to a nice BBQ place in Korea. I also tried their spicy buck wheat noodle and mannn Im drooling just thinking about it. I dont think I will go here again cuz this place makes me homesick... JK lol.

Amazing food and cute place! Only note that they do not have chicken bit of a surprise when we found out but it is due to safety concerns which is probably a good thing. Enjoyed all the other meat immensely and the side dishes especially the pickled onions :)

Its the most delicious meat restaurant Ive ever been to. The nonnaeng is really refreshing and delicious, and the watercress is a bit disappointing... The acidity is a little strong, so I think it would be better to add some beef broth. Dongchimi 2 beef 1 ratio Still, the food is very delicious and the store is clean.

This place used to be a great Korean bbq place, however after today, we won t go back here any more. The first, we literally spent more than $350 for 5 of us, however the young waiters and waitresses were not pay attention to us at all. We had to keep calling them to add more orders and refill side dishes. I would recommend them to get customer service trainings if they expect to get tips. The second, the fresh beef got alot thinner and drier compared to last 3 times. And the complimentary salad seasoning has been changed as well, taste like honey mustard and didn t go well with Korean bbq at all. Overall, the service wasn t there anymore and the food quality went down.

It s a Korean-style grilled meat restaurant. The staff was very friendly and the meat was delicious. The lettuce salad was very delicious, and the soybean paste stew service was also satisfactory. Raw ribs, seasoned ribs, and pork ribs were all delicious. It was nice to be able to eat pickled onions, radishes, and kimchi together. I also wanted to try cold noodles, so Ill definitely try it next time I go. On weekdays, there is a meat and cold noodle combo.

Definitely my favorite Korean BBQ House Marinated Short Rib is what I always get! Like the flavor of the side dishes, soup is a little salty for my taste but you can just add a bit of water and its perfect! Clean place and good staff

Came here with a group of 8 for a birthday dinner and was not disappointed. The cuts of beef and pork were varied and very fresh. Each one holding its own, from pork jowls to galbi. The soup and sides which came with the main BBQ was also very good, genuinely impressed. Topped with excellent service and a very good night was had by all.

This is my new favourite Korean BBQ spot in Greater Vancouver. The lunch set menu tasted amazing and offered a great value. We ordered the pork belly and pork galbi with cold noodles and everything tasted fresh and was seasoned perfectly. I will definitely be coming back here in the near future!

My best friend is moving out of BC and this is pretty much our last meal together. I would say this is the best kbbq (other than my home heehee) you get all your sides, soybean stew, meat (great price btw), and a wasabi sauce salad on the side. Absolutely perfect.

Not a lot of selections on the menu, but the ingredients are fresh. Service is great and I like the atmosphere. Great place for gathering for beer. We ordered marinated beef rib and fresh pork skin belly. There are only selections for either pork or beef with marinated flavor or fresh (unmarinated). The meal comes with a small stone pot, half filled tofu bean soup, which to me, tasted too salty. Besides the soup, the side dishes come with kimchi, sour and sweet marinated radish, marinated onion and a bowl of salad. The salad is blended with light sour sauce, which gives a refreshing taste. We also ordered their cold buckwheat Korean noodle soup which I think is their best dish. The flavor taste a bit sour, since theyve added the sweet and sour radish along with a few slices of tasteless beef, shredded cucumber and half of full cooked boiled egg on top. Personally I like the light taste and it feels refreshing if you dont like to eat too much meat. They dont have many selections on the menu, if you are looking to eat just beef or pork korean,BBQ, then this restaurant can be added to your selection. However, personally I will prefer more variety in flavors and other Korean dish options because it feels that you can simply buy the same beef or pork from the grocery and BBQ at home for better price.

Went here for lunch today with my parents. We were the only customers. Service was not great. Not once did our server come by to check up on us to ask if we needed any refills. The quality of the meat was great but portions were small and with the poor service, I will not return back nor recommend this place to any of my friends.

Good quality cut meats! Menu selection is simple, but good quality. Service is excellent, the tables are situated so its easy for server to see. We use to go to Haan korean restaurant nearby before the pandemic, but Galbi Korean BBQ is our new favorite.

Went there for my mom s birthday lunch. Very impressed with the food. I have tried many Korean BBQ restaurants here in the Greater Vancouver area. There is plenty of parking. There is a good selection of dishes on the menu. We only ordered the BBQ items during my visit. No extra fees when paying with credit card which is a bonus these days.

If you want to fill your stomach with some goodness, this is the place to be. Totally Satisfied. Two thumbs up

Delicious fresh meat, and lots of yummy sides. The spybean soup was delicious, very flavourful and a nice level of spice. The marinade on the meat was great!

This meal was as good as some Ive had in Korea. The food was fresh and delicious. Perfect Kimchi. After eating we ordered another set. Just couldnt help it.

Would recommend. Service was excellent. Servers were attentive. Food was good. Meat was fresh. Noodles were delicious and refreshing. My only recommendation is to lift up the blinds and make it brighter. Didn t realize you guys were already open for business until I googled new bbq restaurant in Coquitlam. Also wish there were more side dish/appy options. Will return for sure.

My new favorite kbbq spot. High quality meats with the right seasoning and marination. It is on the higher price but you pay for the quality and service. I love how the staff changes the grill on time, the meals come with dwenjang soup (which was one of the best I ve tasted in kbbq restaurants) and the side salad was sooo good. Galbi and fresh short rib is a must here. Only complaint is that the ventilation is not the greatest.

Tastes good, a little expensive.
