First time tried the food here, actually it was not bad with this kind of price tag.
Friday Friday Friday only this Black Friday! Haha! I was in the area with family and we overheard that there was a special pricing on their breakfast. 99 cents for breakfast. That’s right! Definitely brings back nostalgic times. How can you go wrong with breakfast. Normal price is $3.79 but you’re getting your grub on for 99 cents. It comes with scrambled eggs, chopped fried potatoes, your choice of bacon or sausages. You have to scan your ikea family membership for a free cup of coffee or tea. It’s not a glamorous meal don’t be expecting something fancy but where else can you get a traditional breakfast in your tummy for 99 cents? Perfect for all you young bloods that are hung over LOL 😂. Awesome place! Limited hours of superb breakfast everyday - 9:30 am to 11:00 am - 7 days a week. Limited menu but very healthy and hearty. The basic breakfast is quite enough and comes with one portion of scrambled eggs, cube-diced hash browns, with either 2 pieces of sausage or few ribbons of bacon for just $3.79. Compare this to outside one for a minimum of $15 at the current inflation. Totally subsidized by IKEA for the customers. A great bottomless coffee comes at $1.50. There are few more items during the breakfast time - vegetarian medallion $1.50, garlic bread slice $0.99, samosa $0.99, vegetarian soup $4.39. Large Cinnamon bun $1.50. Muffin $1.50. My bill came to $9.72 for 2 persons. For other after-breakfast items, please check their menu with their transparent prices. Ample parking space. Excellent view! Fantastic bright and clean ambiance. Simply a heaven!
The epidemic of mis-advertising has reached to IKEA too. They show you the picture of their traditional breakfast in a relatively proper portion, but they give you close to half of the amount. I guess they want to make you buy two of them to get a decent portion.
Very weak management and organization for customer service! After waiting 30 minutes in the line, we found out that half of the menu is sold out or they dont want to make the fresh one! The line organizer stuff was on the right sode of the salon and the employees were trying to move hundreds of people to the other side! But the food still tastes good and fresh.
Our group had their Swedish Meatballs Meal, Plant Balls Meal and the Vegan Chocolate Torte. The meals are nothing fancy for $8.99 and $7.99, but as diners who visit IKEA once a year, the food has a nostalgic and comforting feel. The mashed potatoes were creamy, and the different balls had good flavour. I was a big fan of their vegan chocolate torte, which was rich and decadent without the use of eggs and gluten! I'd definitely order this again, and appreciate the vegan dessert option! Water is self-serve by the other beverages and is complimentary. We unknowingly went on Swe-dish Thursdays, so it was packed for the lunch hour with many families in line for food. There was a bit of a wait, but the line moves quickly (finding seating is another question, but we were fortunate to find a table soon after paying). I was looking forward to having their Veggie Balls, but had to settle for the Plant Balls as they weren't serving the Veggie Balls on their menu. The only minor issue we had was when we were paying full price (because we weren't IKEA Family Members). We were happy to pay full price because we were unaware of the Thursday special and were not signed up for membership, but the cashier had insisted we keep the receipt as they said we'd be able to get a partial refund on that food bill if we became IKEA Family Members at a later date. While we were eating, we signed up for membership, but another staffer in the restaurant area said we could only use it for future meal savings and couldn't get the refund. It wasn't a big issue for us, but we were left questioning why the cashier was insistent about a refund as we hadn't asked for one in the first place.
Tried the haddock and chips and it was extremely mediocre and not the best tasting. The fries were good standard fries but the actual fried fish was super dry, and as seen in the pictures, even had burnt crust that was very hard and abrasive to the mouth. The quality was poor. The NY cheesecake was barely edible and didn’t taste like real cheesecake at all. It was quite acidic and tasted very processed and not freshly made and had a very preservative heavy taste. Would not recommend the cheesecake. The wait is insane and they appear extremely understaffed as there was one person serving food in each of the two food lines and one cashier for a giant crowd of people. The workers seem to be doing their best and appear overworked for what they have to do and getting your food is a bit of a chaotic process. Thankfully there is a lot of seating and the self serve drinks are nice but when we went lots of the syrups for the drinks ran out and weren’t working and many of the drinks were watered down. The IKEA food box outside is way better if you want food.
It’s cafeteria food, and it’s great for what it is. Cheap and cheerful. Lots of seating available on the Friday afternoon I visited. I appreciate the vegetarian options and I opted for the plant balls with mashed potatoes and peas. I can’t remember the name of the dessert but it was tasty.
Unfortunately, the IKEA restaurant didn t meet my expectations. While the prices are low, the food quality feels the same bland and sometimes not very fresh. The cafeteria setup gets crowded and disorganized during peak hours, making the experience stressful. The meatballs are decent, but most other dishes lack flavor. It s okay for a quick snack while shopping, but I wouldn t recommend it as a dining destination.

The restaurant at this IKEA seems to always be out of stock of the popular items at other locations - like the pulled pork sandwich, pancakes and crepes (despite them being in stock in the store downstairs), which I ve never seen stocked here. $3.99 might seem cheap for a plate of bacon, potatoes and eggs, but a McDonalds breakfast sandwich has better (real) eggs, bacon that isn t as thin as tissue paper, and is likely more fresh for the same price.
Awesome place
Overall Good experience, except for the service at the restaurant at peak hours, 1/2 hour waiting in line to get fast food doesnt sound like Ill do that again nor fast to me. Thats a la carte restaurant time. Problem is one server per 40 clients approximately. Two servers were active servers only and a single cashier (the single cashier was enough for the average 80 clients, you paid within 5 minutes, which is not great but not horrible). The line waiting was over 30 minutes.

The restaurant is under renovation. They dont serve salmon dishes. The renovation will probably be finished in early December.
I grew up when most stores had a dining area or a coffee bar. Ikea still keeps that tradition going. They also have great coffee.

Sometimes there are no forks. Youll have to use spoon for those meatballs. And the tables are always really dirty. You cant find any staff to wipe the tables. I had to use my tiny hand sanitizer and a napkin to wipe it myself.
Restaurant was good, but dishes are got smaller, even child meals are so much smaller than before. Now I have to oder 2 portions for my each children.
Crowed but many bargains that makes shopping worth. Customer service could be better.
Breakfast is only served for one hour. The food is good however, the eggs does get cold very fast from the time it served to the time you re sitting to the table. The place is not the cleanest, but it s not bad either the price is amazing so all in all, it s great specially for the value Kid-friendliness: The day we went, they were hosting a fall craft table for a little ones who is supervision.

A decent 3 stars for the Ikea restaurant. Its food at a furniture store...what do you expect? Haddock and chips are a fan favorite. The hot dogs downstairs are decent but costco ones are waaaay better. A trip to Ikea isnt complete until you have some soft serve ice cream too. They have strawberry (non dairy) and vanilla. These are all nice options if youre on a budget. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available

I love IKEA and I was especially a fan of their Swedish Thursday deal until today. I asked for a second order of Haddock and Fries, just without the fries, as I didnt want to waste the extra fries. The cashier insisted on charging it as 2 side orders of Haddock instead of a meal, costing $7 instead of the $4.50 for the deal. Im receiving less food and trying to help you reduce food waste, and you insist on overcharging due to a technicality? Terrible service. Theyd rather you waste food I guess!

Ikea is a special kind of diner fast food: plain, but good and hard not to want to come back for. I wish there was a bit more frequent removal of the used tray dollies, and perhaps (blasphemy, i know!) even a little bit higher prices so there wouldnt be such heavy line ups all the time.

Friend bought a bed frame and it took 2.5 hours to build. Instructions were crap and pieces needed to be numbered or lettered.

Good breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts and very economical in this inflationary environment but only dine-in, no take-out for Ikea restaurant . May be if you can add halal options in future as this area immigration stats and overall restaurant cuisine is changing in that direction. Food
Love going to IKEA sometimes not to buy anything but to just walk around the place. The new lower prices for furniture and household items is a good deal. Went to the Swedish bistro for the first time for breakfast and it was just alright. You do have options to choose from. The prices were not too bad. You can get a decent breakfast at a small price. The plant based yogurt was delicious. Usually ikea is an amazing restaurant. Not sure if it was half price on meatballs day or what. But this was the worst. Usually I buy a lot of food butThis time my tray had the plant balls thats it. The soup was empty and didnt matter how many staff you asked if there was more soup, they just ignored me. Wouldnt even answer. No vegetable medallions. all out too. The food they did have was served cold on paper plates, and no place to sit so your food was even colder by the time you did find a corner. Worst day ever

We used to really enjoy eating at the IKEA cafeteria -and the salmon I had there last time (2 months ago) was good. This time, the whole meal was terrible! The salmon was a small end piece - overdone and tasteless! The vegetables were mushy and cold. Inedible, actually. I asked to have mashed potatoes instead but couldnt get that without paying extra, and it was already overpriced. At the drink station, there was no coffee left on one side, and no cream on the other, and you had to fight your way thru the crowd to get anything. The staff in the kitchen are either incompetent or understaffed - and not very pleasant. There hardly ever seems to be any cheesecake available anymore. Im not going back till they correct this mess!

I always enjoy the Ikea Cafe, whether for a snack or a meal. I stopped to get a coffee and ended up with fish and chips! The atmosphere is casual and relaxed and the service good. Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids meals to enjoy
The only day its ok is Thursday because you can get 50% off on some basic food. But be aware, that day, its packed!

The Ikea restaurant is a solid lunch choice, serving sizes are reasonable, and it doesnt break the bank to feed the whole family. I tried the poutine for the first time and it was excellent. This pic was not our lunch. It was the cute way theyre presenting food in their kitchen mock-ups (cardboard photo cutouts). Wheelchair accessibility: Elevators to all levels. Lots of space through the cafeteria as well as around the tables.
Very reasonable prices
There was a bit of a line up so it took a few minutes but the food I ordered was good. I really liked their sparkling water it was really good.
This is like your typical IKEA restaurant experience. Its nothing different from IKEA Richmond. There are some vegan options, like the veggie balls and the vegan cake, but thats it. Theres not much variety here. Though I would recommend any of the non-vegan desserts!
Considering this departmental store sells cutlaries, i was taken back that they didnt have enough to cater for the hungry masses!! In the absence of folks, people got very creative!! Fun times!

One of my favourite to-go places. Food never gets boring and is on the cheaper side yet still tasty. I usually get the Swedish Meatballs, a Haddock & Chips to go, maybe a dessert, and a coffee (free with IKEA family card). If Im still feeling hungry, I stop by the bistro downstairs and get a veggie hotdog combo with a drink for around $1-$2. I like to combine the Nordic lemon fruit water and sparkling pear drink. Refills are also free. Parking: Can get busy on weekends but youll always fine a spot within 5-7 minutes. Plenty of space.
Value for wholesome food
The fries are always crispy, well seasoned and tasty. After McDonalds, Ikea fries would be second in line for the most consistent tasting fries. The food in general is not disappointing. Not 5 star restaurant meals, but you are not paying for a 5 star experience. Its pretty good for what you are paying. The coffee on the other hand is pretty damn good, way better than a timmies or a blenz or waves even.

Cheap food that is pretty good in general! I dont think you can even get anything less than 2 dollars at dollar store anymore but their hot dog was $1 before tax! Their slaw is pretty slay! One thing is that both the coffee and tea and soda machine were broken that day we went.
Always clean and friendly experience at this location. The food is fresh on the staff moves people through seems theres a lot of people but its never overcrowded if you know what I mean. Got to like those meatballs!

Zero stars for service, it was Horrible, when trying to order food, it feels like like the staff that serve the food are there to serve exactly as thr picture shows, if you have questions regarding dietary restrictions they get lost and cant help you, this is the 2nd time this happened, clearly Ikea does not care about the customer who is vegetarian/vegan os they have they have the plant balls mixed with none vegan stuff on there dish, when asked to separate them, they said no or I would get charged more, simply not acceptable.

its been a while #swedishmeatballs must have been hungry because dont remember it being so #deliciousandwholesome 8-piece Swedish Meatballs, with mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, Swedish cream sauce and lingonberry $8.49 also ordered #veggieballs and #plantbasedballs the difference plant balls are entirely vegan and unlike Ikeas veggie balls, they have been designed to replicate the flavour and appearance of real meat I didnt know that ... but all tasted great only sad no more baby food and plastic reusable cutlery for toddlers
As being vegetarian i got to eat vegie dogs there in $1 that was awesome and 1.5$ a cup of coffee unlimited. I like what they have but need more options.. otherwise all gud.

IKEA s restaurant used have really good, low priced breakfast meals. It has gone way down in terms of food and quality of service. There s no more mayo or vinegar in the condiments- this wierd coz at the lower level take out, they have mayo sachets; you can t get butter for the pancakes and fruit plate -unbelievable! They plate your meal like it s a school cafeteria- my kid commented their school cook served way better lol. The breakfast meals price went up through the years but even the service was bad. Even the cashier gives you the stink eye if you get a refilll the pancake syrup from the gallon dispenser. Can t complain about lunch and dinner - no change in past years.
