Ive been to many sushi restaurants, but its been a while since Ive had such a satisfying meal! The sashimi was soft and large, and the sushi and rolls were also delicious. All the food was overall neat and fresh. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere of the store was cozy, which was great. Of course, I would like to visit again. Next time, Im going to try a new menu.

Our office ordered takeout here for lunch. I chose one of the limited veggie options - yummy yam roll, which was supposed to come with avocado, and instead came with more yam. I would have chosen a different meal altogether if I had known. I cant look at another yam. Vegetarian options: Very limited. You better like yam.

Since moving to Coquitlam we struggled to find a good sushi place. MEGA sushi is THE best place to get sushi in Coquitlam. Service is also 10/10. They are always so attentive! Food

Pretty good, small sushi place with an excellent staff. Very friendly. Also has a convenient system which will save your orders based on your phone number if you call in making repeat orders quicker. While their sushi isnt mindblowing, it still is quite good for a fairly average price point for the area. They also have a lot of variety and a few rolls that have unique names to the area. I especially like the spicy tuna and tuna tataki rolls. Parking: Lots of parking in front, and if that fills up there are other parking spots within a walking distance though you may need to go up hill. The parking lot isnt packed most of the time, though it can still get quite busy.

Fresh food at a great price!

Our neighbourhood sushi joint that the whole family loves. Its easy to order from their website and pick it up. Weve also stopped in after practice and dined in restaurant for an awesome late dinner. I love the Evergreen roll and my husbands 2 faves are the Spicy Chopped Scallop and the Philadelphia Roll

Vegetarian options: For veg the veg tempura rolls are the besttttt must try ittt. Food

A LITERAL LID INSIDE MY FOOD???? The lid is for tobikko which my bento box doesn t contain any of so it makes absolutely no sense why this lid was on my food let alone near the box

The owner and staff are nice, but the food quality has declined. I have gone back a few times in hopes it was just a bad night, but it has been every time. Everything we ordered, including items without fish, taste fishy. The sashimi has a very fishy taste and has been very warm every time.

I hope they dont burn the chicken. I had to bite out the burt part.

Good but quality seemed a little lower. We had a to go order and it tasted like it was prepared ahead. It was ready very quickly. Still good but not great.

We live a bit of a drive from Mega, so we hadn t ordered from them in a while, until tonight. First, their online ordering system is actually easy and it works. Wow! Not what we experience elsewhere. Second, we had forgotten how good the food is! Another WOW! We will change our habit and drive a little further to enjoy this food! Well done! Thanks!

My family and I have loved Mega Sushi for a very long time now and will always tell anyone who listens how amazing their food is. Today, Im writing to tell you how in awe we are of the service we received at Mega! I placed an order for pickup, and when leaving to go pick it up, realized the battery in my car was dead. We had nobody else available to pick it up so I called the store asking if I could cancel the order and order through Uber Eats or just cancel it entirely. A very very kind man working there offered to DRIVE OUR FOOD TO US and delivered our food within 5 minutes of me calling !!! Cannot think of any other business that would offer to do this, and I am so grateful for their empathy, kindness, and exceptional service. Mega Sushi will continue to be our go to spot, and I cannot thank everyone there enough for their hospitality, warmth, and great food. <3

Everything I ordered was delicious and the owner was so kind that I liked it.

We did take out tonight and it was below par. I had the roll combo and it seemed like it was made hours ago and kept in the fridge. The rice was dry. Very disappointing.

Amazing quality, I absolutely love their tempura and salmon sashimi here. My bf and I enjoyed this place so much we came to this location 3 weekends in a row. We always get the bento box and it leaves us so full and satisfied. We do eat a lot, so 2 bento boxes end up being around $50 something but we are definitely in food comas by the end. They have cheaper bento boxes that would leave you full and satisfied as well.

The store is not big, but the products are very good! The salmon is very fresh, the service needs to be improved! We asked for hot tea and were given ice water, but even after reminding us twice, we were forgotten...

My mom gotten quite sick with food poisoning, and has been puking and had diarrhea for the last 3 days. The last place eaten was from Mega Sushi Restaurant. And not sure if its Listeria, salmonella. She normally doesnt eat out, and cooks food at home. (Edit: Shes on Antibiotitcs, and its 6 days now shes unable to eat other then the BRAT diet of a few 100 calories in a day)

Got a pickup for lunch. I remember coming to this place a few years ago and it was great. Today not so much, roll was decent and nigiri was very small with rice that was very dry. All that for almost 30 bucks, very underwhelming

This has been one of my favourite local sushi places for years! Service is always great, the food is fresh + served fast, and theres lots of special rolls to try. My favourite are the Austin Roll and the Finger Roll. I also like the sashimi salad and the tuna / salmon sashimi combos!

This is a local sushi joint with a for locals vibe. The seating is limited, the place is busy, and you know when you go in that the food is going to be good. We got take out, the price was good, and the food left us all happy and full. Warning: they do not play when it comes to portion size and their donbury bowls!

One of my go-to Japanese restaurants in coquitlam! Got a few dishes for takeout and was super impressed by how quick I was able to head out the door without ordering ahead of time. Not to mention that the dishes were delicious. Will be back!

RAVE! I had no idea that this gem was only 1km from my house (Im new to the area). What a fantastic meal! The flavors were perfectly bold and subtle exactly where and when they needed to be. The staff are happy and attentive as well. It was an absolute pleasure being there tonight on this cool rainy evening. The portion size was large (Mega Bento Special B), and I was full after not eating anything all day. The price was spot on, too. The cost ratio was well balanced. The meal started off with Miso Soup, and a refreshing bowl of Sunomono witch was very refreshing. Everything was as fresh as it could be and melted in my mouth . Thank you to all of the staff there tonight. You made my day! I will be back!

Never eat food here, but as a courier, their foods is always ready and they are so friendly and funny

They used to give a good amount of wasabi with their sushi for take-out but now its only about ½ teaspoon if that. Everything else was good.

This is the same place as Mega Sushi in Richmond! Such massive pieces of sashimi so you really get what you pay for. Also we really enjoy their aburi sushi its a must get every time we come here.

Wow. So fresh and everything was very very good. We had veggie tempura, gomae, sunomono, appetizer sashimi and a Mega Roll that was a WOW! We will definitely be back!

The best sushi in town my go to place when I need a fulfilling meal.

Really wanted to like this place because i just moved into the area, after spending 85$ today for lunch the owner was going to charge me for extra ginger and wasabi. The sashimi was thinly sliced, the rolls all were drenched in a sweet sauce, what really bothered me the most was that they dont even use real sushi rice Cheap regular rice all smushed together. Shameful.

It was my first time visiting here last night. I had excellent service and good quality food. I ordered by phone and everything was ready for pick-up exactly on time and the packaging was good (and kept everything hot). I really liked my food, I really liked the tofu and I liked the ratio of vegetables to noodles/sauce. I was extremely satisfied with the service and I look forward to coming back again soon. (Thank you! ) All the staff are masked and polite. The woman who took my order was excellent.

A very low quality non authentic Japanese restaurant. The quality of the ingredients they use is poor. The sushi rice is rolled with a machine making it taste weird and mushy. The sashimi is expensive and not fresh. People that give restaurants like this a good review doesn t know what sushi is.

This is a sushi restaurant on repeat. Amazing sushi rolls to try. Favourites on the menu are Awesome roll( big rolls that are a full meal for one) spicy mad salmon roll and yummy yam roll. Must try the calamari salad( crispy calamari topped on top od lettuce, mango and avocado with asian dressing). A must try if you are in Coquitlam.

Previously 4-starred this place, but in the last two years its gotten a lot worse. Last year, got gastro following one takeout order, so was put off from coming back for over a year. Just tried again to see if any better, and instead, food is worse (ex. chicken was burnt and bitter, salad leaves are wilted), portions are smaller (ex. thin cut sushi rolls, less beef teriyaki), and prices have gone up (ex. $23 for spicy salmon sashimi salad, $23 for a mediocre dinner box). They also dont check if the right person came to pick up the takeout by asking for phone number, so food theft is pretty easy. Dont think well ever give another chance again.

A great sushi spot in Coquitlam. The prices are fair and food is good, though I have noticed the quality of the beef decline with a lot more fat and chewy bits vs just using nice lean pieces of beef.

Love this place, amazing sushi every time and friendly staff. A local gem!

Ordered black rice for one of my items on SkipTheDishes, when we got there they told us that the price was wrong on Skip and so we had to pay extra or we wouldnt get our food. So we paid, then once we were home we saw that all the items were made with black rice, and to top it off it tasted old and stale. Thankfully Skip helped us out with a refund on their end but it definitely doesnt feel good to be charged for the restaurants mistaken prices on the apps that they authorize, AND getting the order wrong in general.

Visited with my son for dinner...and tried bento box(Chicken teriyaki & mega special bento). taste good and it was very filling, Sashimi in the box was also very fresh...I like salmon^^ .. Servers were also very friendly. Their tempura ebi seems black tiger prawn ,not white one... really taste good. Will visit again soon~~~

Sushis are tasty but never order wakame salad. Its not worth it at all.

Best sushi around, try the black rice! Sashimi is always cold and firm. Chicken Katsu Don is very good. Chicken gets so crispy! Goes well with a nice cold beer which you can buy here or next door

The food is generally good, although we feel the quality has gone down over the past 6 months or so. Please be aware that they have incorrectly coded their restaurant, so that you will only get .5% cash back rather than 3% (for example on the Costco Capital One Mastercard).

This review is strictly for customers, as I can assure you the staff here could not care less about your experience. We ordered 3 combos and 2 rolls, but i couldnt tell you what we got. Sure enough we drove back and without remorse, informed us we d be waiting around 30 min while they completed previous orders before correcting ours. It wasn t until 40 min later we asked where our food was they then admitted itd been forgotten and offered us a California roll to compensate. We left without food or an apology, three quarters of an hour later.

Good food reasonably priced

So I always order from Mega Sushi and never had to complain. I ordered Yam tempura, plus some rolls which were great. The dipping sauce for the tempura had leaked out in the take out container and made the tempura batter all soggy and in edible. The plastic lid does not fit snuggly on the sauce container. This is not acceptable.

I ordered 10 times from here and it was always delicious. Before, all ingredients would be present in the sushi. This time however it was rather disappointing. Popcorn roll had mainly crab meat with a tiny sliver of yam tempura and a small piece of avocado. There was no cucumber. House roll I ordered once before and it had a very pleasant, fruity flavour like cantaloupe. This time it did not and tasted rather bland. Please try to include all ingredients and maybe look into a cantaloupe roll variation of the house roll as it was delicious. Maybe the previous time it was an accident, but it was an amazing one. Overall, sadly this was my worst experience with Mega Sushi which typically has delicious rolls.

I went here today and ordered two things, i saw on the receipt it was $16 dollars but when i paid on the machine it was $18. the food wasn t good and was way more money then it was on the menu, bad service. i had to wait so long when i was seated and i am never going back here again. i am so upset with the miscommunication and being scammed.

Where to start. Ah the sun rises over the Japanese sea when the freshest of fish are caught. This fish was caught on the coast the night before Chernobyl exploded. Needless to say that quality in not of the Japanese but the hardy Ukraine. Not the best but they taste good

Fast, friendly service, great roll sizes, wide selection. Clean and open atmosphere. We used to love a lot closer and come more often. We were happy to come back. Highly recommended.

Have maintained affordable prices, fantastic lunch menu, highly recommend the Bento boxes and the platters. Not sold on all the Sashimi, occasionally tastes a tad stale, but overall a beautiful balance between price and tasty eats.

Starving last night and stopped in for dinner! Wow! This little restaurant had amazing service, delicious and I do mean delicious rolls, agedashi, bento, gyoza!!! Great place if you are craving sushi and did I mention remarkably fast food to table! Would we go back - definitely.

The consistency of the product they serve is astounding in todays here just eat this mentality of other restaurants. The service is on par with Japanese service you would expect in Tokyo. Stayed in Coquitlam recently and found this little gem. Possibly the best sushi I have ever had. Fresh ingredients, good portions, and unique delicious flavors. Staff was all friendly and although they were busy, food came quick. Will be a go to stop for me every time I go through the area!

Always get a chopped scallop roll at sushi places and the one I ordered here had the strongest fishy smell. Didnt feel like it was fresh at all.

I really like this place! Food is great and prices reasonable. Lunch specials boxes are my favorite. However, I dont love how they make their dynamite roll because it has too much crab meat and not enough shrimp.

I have to start this review by saying I chose this sushi restaurant because of past good experiences. Restaurant cleanliness 8/10, service 3/10, food presentation 5/10, flavor 2/10, price range is low to moderate making the value for food 8/10. The wasabi here was served very watery and was difficult to mix with the soy sauce. The salmon and tuna maki was served at room temperature which changed the flavor and did not taste fresh. The server or owner was standing literally 3 feet away from me watching me eat. This made for an extremely awkward experience and I had to mention it to him. Last but not least, I was handed the bill before I was asked if I wanted anything else. So Mega Sushi lost again. Overall experience 1/10. Lost me as a customer forever.

Their sauce is too sweet

The staff is very friendly and normally very busy which is a good sign. Small seating area, so normally best to do take out. Value for money is good. For those that like the simple/safe dishes such as teriyaki, it lacks a little flavor but still ok.
