The food was ok 🤷🏻♀️ I definitely ate better Chinese food. I was pretty disappointed in the spring rolls, wasn’t what I expected it to be. The gravy that came with the egg foo young tasted strange, I didn’t eat it. The beef and broccoli had a think sauce on it. To much cornstarch maybe 🤷🏻♀️ The fried rice was probably the best of everything we had.
It wasn't too bad for a quick bite. Had the No. 6 it came out pretty quickly and the food was good.
Food was okay. The eggs rolls taste the same as the great value ones. I wanted to have tap water with my meal as I don't drink pop. It's $4 for soft drinks and ONLY have bottled great value water. Which is also $4. You can buy a case of great value bottled water from Walmart for $3. I would order again but as take out with out a drink.
Food was not the best .but the price was outrageous $3.99 for bottle water ,$2 extra for any substitution. 10.99 for soup omg . Nothing wrote on any menu about extra additions water ect. All most like the price was hidden till the time of check out .
We are a retired, professional couple that had a bizarre and disturbing experience at New China Restaurant, 22 Murphy Sq. in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. After eating, we tried to pay according to the signage by the cash register. The sign said, "Debit or Cash, No Credit Card." So, we put my debit card in the machine and the women said her bank indicated it was a credit card. We then put my partner's debit card in the machine and the woman again said her bank said it was a credit card. I then did the USD to Canadien Dollar conversion and began to hand her the cash with a generous tip. She said that was not acceptable, and I had to go to Walmart to get her Canadien cash. We said okay, and began to go, when she argued that my partner must remain in the restaurant, to be held hostage. I then said I would call the police to sort this out, and so she had the cook follow us to Walmart. He watched closely as I got the Canadien money from the ATM. I handed it to the cook, got the change, and we departed. It was an unnecessary, ridiculous, disturbing and humiliating experience for us. In addition, the food was marginal.
Visiting Newfoundland from Vancouver and decided would like something other than seafood so decided on Chinese the food from the buffet was all freshly made and hot best deal in town plus dessert the restaurant was very clean and the staff was very cheerful treating everyone as if they were her best friend. Thank you for a wonderful meal and for tips on things do do here in corner brook before heading back to St. John’s. Trish and glenn
Everything was hot and delicious. Some of the best Chinese I've had in a while. Customer service was awesome as well. Very clean place. No complaints.
Amazing food. We go there every New Year's for our anniversary and love it Everytime.

Worst Chinese food I ever ate in my life. Was like eating paste. Never go back again.
Delicious food and great service
The prices here are absolutely ridiculous and the food is terrible. I will NEVER return. The food was rubbery... I got the impression it was precooked and reheated...Not sure if thats the case, but regardless, it wasnt fit to eat.
Poor customer service. I could not get a glass of water, the lady totally refused me. It was very expensive for the portions received. I had a chicken ball with no chicken. It was a ball of batter. Atmosphere was cold feeling.
Yummy food at a good price, fast service and kind employee
Very bad.plum sauce buy at walmart.fried rice almost white and sticky.weird sauces.
I have not eaten in this restaurant in about 6 years. I wasnt keen on the place back then, but l thought why not try it again! and l certainly wont be going back there after this latest dining out experience! The food was well over cooked, the rice was rubbery, and the prices for pop or water was $3.75.....a little steep in comparison to other restaurants! The Chinese server was very arrogant!
I give this place no stars if I could ..Service was far from good . Food wasnt the greatest and them the ripped us off when we paid the bill..last time here
went in, went to the counter, looked around, looked at a menu, walked around ...nobody came out to serve me....so after a few minutes I left - heard the bell go off when I opened the door to leave, so they were aware someone had come in....gotta say, the prices are HIGH, but never got any food to be able to judge that
It was delicious
If you re looking for good tasting Chinese food, this is not the place. Coffee is instant not perked. Chow mein is mainly corn starch and zero flavour. The rice was mediocre at best. Chicken balls and egg rolls were good.
Service was great as well as the food!!
Food is okay, however, I am not pleased with the service. The prices seemed extremely high for Chinese food, and they refuse to give you a glass of water, insisting you buy bottled water. I am uncertain this is a legal practice here, I know it was made illegal in other provinces. I do not intend to return.
Great food
They are really nice people and the food is delicious
I have gone here several times over the past few years and it is easily my favorite place to go for Chinese food. Mind you, I go there with a specific order in mind and it is pretty basic but when it comes to quality they are really good at it. Sometimes they have their off-days where the food is not as great but I still love the food and the service they have is very good. I dont really care for any other places in town, plus its an easy commute for me from my place of work. Some people say not to go but I think thats not enough to formulate a proper opinion. If you dont like anywhere else, give New China a shot :)
Great food!
Food tastes good, reasonable price. Bathroom needs work
Food was awesome and customer service was beyond awesome. Staff is very friendly. We will go back.. again.. and again...
The sweet and sour chicken balls hardly had any chicken in them this time. Rice was a bit crunchy. (dried out somewhat) sadly wasnt quite as good as before.
Food was overpriced. The sweet and sour chicken wasn t fully cooked. Overall the food was tasteless and I won t be going there again.
Love the food here!
Always good food and great Service
Always keep going back
Healthy servings, but nothing special
Food is good but prices are little high for servings ... during slow hours food can sometimes be not as good as should expect ..
Perfectly average :)
Good food good service good price and nice pretty lady too! I been there every month.i will keep going to!
Some may say they have the best Wonton soup in town. Ha ha make me laugh, and without a dout in my mind this little place has the best Wonton soup on the ISLAND!!
I would give this place no starts if i was able. The lady over charges. Portions are tiny. Food is tasteless. Go to Ji Wen Garden on West street instead.
Best chicken balls ever
Nice place, cozy, and consistently good food.
Food was fantastic!! Great beef and brocolli
Awesome food and fast and friendly service.
Best won ton soup in town.
Excellent food. Staff is very friendly.
Felt pretty displeased with the 35 cent price of lemon with my water the rice was all burnt, the onions where not cooked the ribs were undercooked the spring roll appetizer was cold and uncooked in the middle they had a spring roll in an order where an egg roll was suppose to be.
One of my favourite Chinese places in the city!
Their food is pretty good but not the best you can get in town.
