We decided to try this restaurant. What a disappointment. Hot turkey sandwich? Nothing like I've ever seen before. Not a green pea or piece of carrot. Just a pale plate of food. Presentation meant nothing! The Chinese food we ordered was far from appetizing.. Glass of water was just warm water. No ice or lemon. Not a very good experience.
Had the diner for 2. Was just a bunch of salt, oil, batter and cherry flavored corn surup. Was disappointed as the online reviews were good. Guess the standards for Chinese food in cb are low.
Ok food the ribs were a bit small. Very friendly service building could use a bit of updating But still very clean. The food is priced pretty well for what you're getting. Only complaint was the soup was loop warm.
I've always liked Tai An, our family were regulars there. Lately though I've found the quality of their food has decreased and they've started charging you 50 cents for asking for your sauce on the side. Apparently this is for the Styrofoam container (which you can buy 100 of at the dollar store for $2) they put your sauce in. So if you live out of the city and ask for your sauce and gravy on the side so your food isn't soggy by the time you get home.... That's an additional $1 on your meal. I'm really sad that the food has changed and they've started charging for sauce on the side.
Disappointed...first time I have ever ordered stir fry at a Chinese restaurant that ONLY involved carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. Not one beansprout, no chinese cabbage, no water chestnuts, very disappointed. It was quick for a pickup order but disappointed with the food.
Rice and chicken balls were good. Not too oily and good flavour. Service was fine. No issues there. Price is fair, and food was (mostly) hot. However, I found the "chow mein" unpalatable. It eats like a porridge. Taste was okay but the texture was revolting. The egg roll, I believe, was reheated from the day before. It was not crispy and only luke warm. I think I would return, but only order the rice and Chicken balls next time.
Nice place for takeout. The decor is okay inside. But could use some updating for sure to stand apart from the others like this establishment. Overall, I am happy with the food.
The food was hot, but the chow mein was just mostly cabbage, not much flavor & sloppy in texture.. was hard to tell the difference between the S&S Chicken Balls from the S&S Shrimp .. I know eh! The garlic ribs were really tasted but in tiny pieces. The young guy that served us was so sweet though.. and they were crazy busy with tske out orders
Frequent customer, food is great..
This is nasty food I have never had Chinese food that made me feel sick
Food was good and nice portion size. Not much choice for Celiacs. Prices are a little pricey.
Great service and great food
No complaints.
Great food always
It was ok, not to die for by any means. Just ok.
Had special with ribs and after sliding onto plate and warming I kept biting into bone slivers from ribs in my rice. I called to let them know and that I think I chipped a tooth and to be more careful and response was that happens in a condescending tone. Sorry but it shouldnt happen if you care about your customers you wouldnt scoop bone slivers up with the ribs and put in peoples plates. I picked out 7 little pieces of bone.
Excellent food ! Awesome service on Christmas eve when it was so so busy !
The food is really homemade food, my family love it
Everything is always perfectly done, taste, presentation, etc. very friendly and polite.
Good price and tasty food. Decent sized portions as well. Ribs were a bit small but tasted great.
Great food. Fantastic Service. I will be going there again.
Excellent food and service. Really top notch
Very disappointing. Chow mein was like nothing I tasted before nor would I like to ever experience again.
Delicious food
There food is delicious and the staff are very friendly would recommend this to anyone for some great food
Great place, prices are very good and food is always consistent and tasty. Staff is great, wait times are low, and most importantly the restaurant is very clean. Awesome place, and a must try.
The best ive had in a very very long time and the service was superb. Thankyou guys
We really enjoyed our meal. It was pretty busy, but everything was timely. The young fella who served us was actually running back and forth. Well definitely be back.
Good food at a reasonable price.
Food and prices are not bad. Very friendly family owned restaurant.
My favorite place to eat
Great prices and quality Chinese food.
I get meals there all the time and usually pretty good. Today we had a few meals.....egg rolls were over done. wingtons were over done....you could hardly cut the pork with a steak knife.. rice and chemein were not bad.. maybe the cook was just having a bad day....
Good service but I didnt enjoy the food.
Love the food
My experience with this restaurant has been pretty average. The Soo Gai is excellent, however, their Chicken Fried Rice leaves much to be desired. Update: Their curried noodles are very dry and is served with shrimp even though its not listed in the dishes description.
Great supper! Excellent food
Excellent food
The ribs are very small. The rest of the food was avg.
Love the food and the service is great
