This place was a gem. We were headed to another chain breakfast spot while visiting the area when we saw this place and it looked busy so we decided to give it a try. A very unassuming spot. But clearly a local favorite and our experience told us why the locals seem to love it. It feels very homey. The food was amazing and plentiful. The service is friendly and efficient. There was a bit of a wait for food but I believe that was because the food is made fresh to order and from scratch. It was not to greasy or heavy even for a big egg and meat with all the fixing breakfast. We both particularly enjoyed the pancake that came with pur meal that had the perfect crispy edges that made the pancake something to be savored. Thank you, village dinner for the wonderful breakfast. Just a tip if you visit it is cash only so be prepared.
When visiting in Cornwall this is the spot we come for breakfast. Good choices on the menu. Service is fair had to wait some time. Very busy tho so I do understand. It would be nice to see with your bacon and eggs some kind of fruit in the plate. Only a suggestion. Very 👍 good breakfast.

We had an impromptu breakfast after our grandsons christening today. We were a fairly large group of friends and family...young children, older adults and a couple of seniors. We dropped in with no reservations and they were incredibly welcoming. They rearranged the tables, and they were very friendly and attentive. The servers were incredibly helpful, the meals were delicious and the atmosphere was great. I can't say enough positive things about our experience with them today. If you haven't tried this spot yet then you are missing out. These people are what customer service is all about. Kudos to both the staff on the floor and in the kitchen. You have a great team working together.

Stopped by on our way to Quebec for lunch. Was good service and food. The only way to pay is cash. First time in Cornwall for us.

The old lady needs to quit or have better customer service.. it s sad they had to delete my sister s review on the experience we both had. Food was decent but they need to greet customers with respect.
Loved the food, nothing beats home style, also loved the stuff on the walls and the feel of the place, for some people they may say the wait for the food is long but thats something good, it makes you more hungry to eat and the fact that its taking a while means its being cooked fresh and not preheated like some places, would recommend this place to anyone that reads this review

A nice spacious diner for breakfast and lunch. Two rooms with plenty of seating. Very friendly service. Coffee is regularly topped up. Cash only, but ATM available near washrooms.

Food was so so....coffee very watery ( Not much flavor) Service between ordering and receiving very slow for 4 ordres of bacon and eggs Some people who arrived after us received their order before us. The servers were polite The bill was just placed on the table for us to discover. All in all ...disappointing...I do not think that I will return there
The food was just okay. I ordered a cheese and ham omelet and when it arrived I was very surprised to see that the cheese was just in fact a kraft single...very disappointed. The home fries were very good though. And the servers were very nice and kept checking to see if we needed anything or wanted more coffee. It took a while to get our food, which it was very busy so thats understandable. All in all just very disappointed with the omelet!

Cute little family dinner in a really old location. The staff were very friendly. Food portions were smaller but the prices were also very reasonable. The coffee, though....the worst Ive EVER had...worse than a twice used Keurig!

Towards good zervice and a good breakfest
Friendly local hotspot for breakfast. I order the big breakfast and the pancakes and eggs and toast was very good. The servers came around often to refill the tasty coffee. Great breakfast, good portions and the meal was served very quickly

Very calm and the service is awesome. We went with our toddlers and it was just right. Recommended 100%. Just remember you have to go inside the big doors in the middle of the building to get to the diner.

Cozy, a time capsule to family dinners of the past
Service is horrible! Over an hour for a basic breakfast. No coffee refills and completely over looked and not the first time! Will never be back as food was subpar despite the wait! .Also upon entering the restaurant it smelled like cigarette in the entrance way as there is an ashtray right outside the door. Absolutely disgusting for a restaurant.
Exceptional service! Within ten minutes I was seated, with a full cup of coffee and a menu. Attentive staff that was friendly and kind; very yummy and hot food, in and out in under an hour. Light fluffy pancakes !!

First time there potatoes were burnt the toast was burnt..asked for water at the beginning of the meal and got it almost at the end. When they brought my food the waitress gave the bill at the same time. I wanted dessert after but i guess i couldnt. Not once did the waitess came back and asked how the meal was. This place was highly recommended but unfortunately i wont be back. I traveled from ottawa because of the reviews..

This was our first time eating here and OMG! Everything was amazing . Food on point! The potatoes on the grill are to die for. I never ever finish my plate and I ate everything. What made this a memorable experience was the servers. So nice, friendly and extremely attentive. I rate them 10/10 and we will be back

During this pandemic, the Village Diner is very yummy. They are so very nice inside for take out, and the food is filling and cooked well. Everyone suggested this place to me for good reason! Their new potatoes are very soft and tasty, and their pancake is like a soft blanket! Eggs cooked perfectly sunny side up :)!

Went in shortly before noon. Waited over 10 minutes from sitting without getting so much as coffee or a menu. Overhead waitress telling another customer it would be 45 minutes for food. She then said shed be right with us, but proceeded to make 2 more trips out to our section with drinks for other tables and still didnt even bring us menus. A second waitress also made a trip to our section, and rather than serving people, spent the time visiting with apparent friends sitting in the section. We ended up leaving without ever having received menu.

A quaint place tucked beside the drive test center, great coffee, great eats and the most wholesome and sweet staff I have ever come across! DO NOT PAY HEED to any of the negative comments! Especially in these times of pandemic, to have these young women work at the frontlines deserve kudos! Edited: my grammar was badderest. I wrote elderly instead of young ;)

Friendliest/best service of any breakfast place that i know. They are a little lesser known than other places but among the best. Theres lots of parking and seating, fast service, great food and good prices. They are open a little later than most breakfast places. They are cash only.

Great breakfast food in a simple diner, waitresses seemed kind of aloof but friendly at least. Food was timely and good. Local artists artwork on display here as well is quite nice to see.
