Very tasty food for the price portion could be just a little bigger.but we must not forget elegance in a restaurant means more $$$.
The tour of Italy dinner was fit for a 10 year old, not adult portions whatsoever. There was 12 penne pasta noodles with red sauce maybe 2 tablespoons of Alfredo with linguine noodles and piece of lasagna that was no bigger than a deck of cards . The spaghetti and meatballs would have been better if they open a can of Chef Boyardee and dump it bowl and heated it the meatballs were horrible. For the prices they charge you think you would get a little more food on your plate. The chicken fingers with fries were very tiny and there was only 15 fries on the plate. I only wish we would’ve taken pictures. Thank God, they asked to put Parmesan on the meals because that was the only thing giving them flavor. Very sad food. I certainly don’t mind paying for a good meal, however that was not it.
We found the Casa Paolo from Internet reviews as we travelled to Cornwall. We were so pleasantly surprised by the lovely welcome we received and the taste and quality of the Italian dishes we ordered. Homemade fresh pasta and bread rolls. Delicious garlic shrimp and salads. Obviously the family ownership of this traditional Italian restaurant is a source of pride and everything was prepared, and served with great care and genuine effort to please. We would certainly return and recommend this lovely establishment.
I didn’t like it. The moment I stepped in she looked at me from head to toe. It was a bad start. The waitress was nicer. The pricey food had nothing really special to go with the price. Not going back. Don’t recommend.
This place was wonderful, server was incredibly friendly and multitasking. Made our son feel so welcome. The only thing keeping me from 5 stars is for the price I would have loved a bit of bigger portions or maybe a basket of bread for each adult at table lol we hunger!
🌹 🏳️⚧️ 🏳️🌈 Rating restaurants is always difficult due to the potential for so many things to go wrong. It has been years since I last dined at Casa Paolo here in Cornwall, so I thought I would give it another go. My bi-annual craving for a proper steak and previous experience told me I couldn't go wrong at Casa Paolo. I was not disappointed. 🌹 It was a Tuesday evening and uncrowded as I stood in the entry waiting. I was given a once-over look by the greeter, and I was asked to be seated between the front doors until the couple ahead of me were attended to. It was a hot, humid day, and the entryway was not air-conditioned, so I hoped the wait would be brief, and it was. It felt somewhat odd to be asked to do so, though, almost insulting. As always, I had my tunes playing in my ear for entertainment (and just in case I needed to block out background noise). My playlist is an eclectic dream. 🌹 Asked whether I would like to dine in or on the patio, I chose inside. I don't like swatting insects and sweating into my plate as I eat especially when I am solo-dining. It is somehow more bearable when I am with a fellow diner. Gentlemen especially are quite efficient at pest removal. Inside seating is a bit easier on staff as well. Wait time for a waitress to approach was a bit excessive at five minutes considering the heat demanded a cold drink in my hands. I was not asked when seated at my table which I found a tad odd. 🌹 With a cold draft beer aperitif to keep me company, I scanned the menu. The meal I came for was on the chef's special insert and on the main menu. Oddly enough, the price differed by one cent. $49.99 on the special and $50.00 on the menu with no discernable differences. I will leave that for the mathematicians to ponder. Perhaps they should reconsider calling it a "Special". It was a 10oz New York strip loin (supposedly Alberta beef, which never impressed me much). Canadian beef, in general, is good regardless of province, and always superior to the U.S. in quality. My meal was served with warm rolls, salad, steak, baked potato, and mixed veggies. Choice of salad/soup, potato, veg/pasta. 🌹 Delicious warm rolls and fresh salad were served promptly. My first trip to the washroom was pleasant. It was close by, clean with a pretty aesthetic and fresh scent, however, I disliked having to navigate stairs. Upon my return, the entrée was served with a good presentation. The waitress forgot the dollop of sour cream I requested, so I had to ask again. It is not a baked potato without it in my world. The steak had good flavour but was a bit thin and not as tender as I like for medium-rare. A glass of red house wine helped to wash it all down (another must for me with steak). I couldn't eat every scrap but then again I am not a big eater. I suspect a larger appetite may prefer the 14oz cut instead. 🌹 One hour and 45 minutes later, I was done. The table was cleared five minutes later and I was offered coffee, tea, and dessert. I am not much for desserts. After such a lovely meal, I like to cap it off with a freshly brewed cup of coffee and a snifter of fine cognac, neat. Oddly, my digestif was served with a swizzle stick and a cherry! I am unsure what a true connoisseur of Remy Martin Cognac would think about it, but it was decorative and did provide a sweet treat when I finished. Twenty minutes later I asked for the bill which totalled $106.80. 🌹 The service was excellent overall. It was served hot and in a timely fashion. I suspect they were short-staffed (unsurprisingly for a Tuesday) because the chef came out from the kitchen a few times to help with various serving duties. The atmosphere was pleasant and quiet without loud music piped in to interfere with my playlist dutifully humming in my ears. My search for good restaurants in Cornwall continues, but in the meantime, I'll always have Mexi's!...💋 Alanis Rae July 23/24 Cornwall, Ont.
Wonderful place for a lovely dinner. Excellent service, delicious food, an upscale atmosphere. Always have had a delicious meal every time I have eaten here. Highly reccommend. P.S. the patio in the summer is a lovely way to dine al fresco.🩷
The BEST restaurant with delicious appetizers, main course selections and dessert. The wait staff are superb too. Patio and inside dining is great. Truly a wonderful dining experience.
If you re in Cornwall you must try this place! Authentic Italian food, absolutely amazing.
The food and service are both excellent. I had the manicotti stuffed with ricotta and it was delicious. The staff were friendly and very good. Highly recommend this restaurant.
omg you don t need to go anywhere else. Cornwall best restaurant
Was highly recommended but very dissappointing on the inside. Looked like it was built in the 60s and never refreshed, dark and dingy sufficoting atmosphere. Didnt stay prices were outrageous.
One of the best restaurants my family and I have ever been to. The food is amazing and service is great. A real family restaurant.
Cute spot, delicious food, good service. Will definitely go back next time were in that area.
Had a lovely dinner to celebrate my birthday, our server was amazing and the food was top notch. The music is cozy vibes for a night out. We will be back again.
The food was amazing. Sat on patio, had a lovely drink, ate Gnocchi and a Caesar salad. Cost was about $50 which includes tax and tip.
Wonderful, authentic Italian food. Our server Amanda was incredible. Veal Marsala was so flavourful. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Very nice establishment, good atmosphere, friendly staff and very good food!
Excellent restaurant; everything is good, well prepared, tasty. This is what I call à GOOD restaurant, they understand what good food is.
Amazing food and service.
The service was brilliant and the food tasted great but was undersized. It s not a place to come if you re hungry. And the air conditioning was on very cold. Which does not work for some people.
I m Italian I know Italian food this restaurant is a fantastic atmosphere fantastic staff fantastic service and most importantly THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD (Spaghetti and Meatballs I have ever had. Fantastico
From the minute we when to the restaurant the hostess sit us at her table with a smile our server Chloe ask if we like a drink with a smile and she brought are drink and explain the menu to us my husband order the Lasagna and I order the Veal both meal was Delecious the service was terrific and the Atmosphere was Amazing ,fresh Vegetable fresh pasta cook to perfection this is the best restaurant in Cornwall and it is Family owned.Sincerely Lise & Keith Smith
Ordered Fiilit mignon, was very thin infact we dont think is was, Very expensive Asked to change table after meal ordered, because someone wanted our table !! Food : 2/5
Parking lot very nice but restaurant was closed
The most authentic Italian dining experience I ve had, other than Nonnas home cooked meals, or visiting Italy! Service from all was beyond amazing, and staff are super friendly! Wait times were non existent, food was hot, and tasted amazing and was truly authentic. Highly recommend!
Outstanding food and great staff.
Being new to Cornwall, and having not being to Casa Paolo before, we whet to celebrate my birthday with family. We were pleased with the entire night. I had been in contact with the owner over the phone when I made reservations and they were friendly over the phone. Well that continued upon arrival. We were greeted very hospitably and being Italian we chatted about our common ancestry. The server was very helpful with the entire ordering process including the special attention she gave to my wife with food allergies (they have gluten free pasta and dairy options). The food was excellent. Between the six of us we had pasta with fish, chicken, home-made sausage, alfredo and tomato sauce. Besides being the main chef, our server told us Paolo actually touches every dish before it leaves the kitchen, it wont leave without his approval. Considering the quality and taste of the food and service we received, Casa Paolo is a 5 star experience without the high price. The value for our dollar was excellent. Dietary restrictions: Gluten and dairy sensitive options.
Found this gem of a restaurant, while I was on a work trip. And an old school traditional Italian restaurant. The food was delicious, service was excellent, and pricing was very reasonable as well.
This was a great find on our business trip. The food was delicious, done perfectly regardless of what we ordered. The menu was very extrnsive and had something for everyone. Friendly and patient staff. Food : 5/5 |
Words cant express how much my wife and I love this place! Best steak in town!!
Great atmosphere, service and very extensive menu - something for everyone! Portions were great and everything was delicious!
Dietary restrictions: GF pasta option available Food
Beautiful place recommended from a friend, now I recommend to you! Authentic, good food!
TLDR; If you want a classy meal, in a classy place, without being hassled all through your meal by self conscious staff wondering if you re enjoying yourself; this is the place. Was it expensive? For most, yes. Was it one of the most incredible meals I ve ever eaten? Absolutely! 3 courses for two was $180 including an average tip. We went for supper during the holidays. We didn t have to wait at all for a table but it was still reasonably busy. I had veal and pasta with tomato sauce. I thought the portion was kind of skimpy until I started eating. The process used to make it takes a long time and it shows. 10/10 I would have liked more of the pasta on my plate though. I thought for the price that it was most certainly skimped on. 7/10. My mother had steak. Also kind of skimpy until, yup, she started eating it. The time put into preparing it makes all the difference. It was cooked a bit beyond her liking since she likes it as rare as a restaurant is willing to serve it but, she did not feel the need to send it back since it was so damn delicious. 9/10 The potato she had with it was topped with bacon and sour cream. It was mostly potato. The toppings were basically just garnish. 7/10 We don t photograph food. The desserts NEEDED to be photographed and sent to everyone we know! I had a crème brûlée and she had a piece of chocolate cake. The plating had lovely images of a snowman and a Christmas tree made out of dessert syrups. We almost didn t wanna wreck them. 10/10 Class oozes from every facet of this establishment. The only real comment I can make about the very gorgeous atmosphere was that the Christmas decorations were a bit overdone. They were very busy and distracting. 9/10. Thank you Casa Paolo for a wonderful time. I will be back again to get after the chicken since I had veal! Parking: Tons of spots, right at the store.
We didnt have a reservation, which is recommended by the staff. They welcomed us and served us without hesitation. The food was better than the same dish in Italy, and the portions were huge. Good value for the price. No complaints about this place.
This was my fiances and mines first date restaurant, went again for our anniversary and then again to celebrate our engagement, the owner was very attentive and so kind to us. The food here has been amazing every time and the waiteresss we have had gave us great wine suggestions. This will be our go to restaurant for any occasion forever. Could not boast enough on how good the food is here and how amazing the service is.
The chicken (w/eggplant) dish that I ordered was very good. The Caesar salad was not a favorite of mine. However, my biggest complaint is the slow service, especially with getting our main course. Our reservations were for 5:30 for six people; we did not leave the restaurant until almost eight oclock.
I tried to attend the restaurant from the hotel next door. I just wanted 2 drinks. They made me order an appetizer and my bill was $62.00. The waitress was rude and very disrespectful. When my gf called to inquire the manager was very rude and disrespectful.
Best meal I ve had in years, staff was awesome and the chef should get some sort of an award. 10 out of 10
Went for dinner with parents and siblings. They ve all been there before but it was my first time. Everyone enjoyed their ample entrees and the wine list was pretty good. It was a busy night but service was pretty good (just a little slow to finish up).
Great restaurant. The food is delicious, fresh, homemade! Fantastic evening!
Great food, staff and atmospher. As always.
A little to expensive for this type of restaurant
jeff is cool
as a person who def doesnt work here at all, Marty is pretty cool. And Marty, if youre reading this, yk who u are, and know who I am.
This place is the real deal! True authentic Italian. We had the Seafood platter and it was delicious! The shrimp, lobster, and clams were all done to perfection! Sangria was amazing too! Loved the ambiance!
Reservations for 6 people @ 6pm. Service was agonizing slow. Waited 1/2hr for drinks, 1hr for appetizers, had to ask for roles & finally served meal @ 8:20. Everyone had lost their appetite. All meals very overpriced (escargot $18), all entrees average $35. Never going back.
Awful. Do yourself a favour and dont go here. Service was rude, unprofessional and lacks the basic skills of communication. Food has completely gone downhill, and to reflect this, they have risen their prices. Ps. Dont advertise wheelchair accessibility if the washroom entrance is a steep set of stairs. Ridiculous. Wheelchair accessibility: They advertise wheelchair accessibility, this is a lie.
Went out for a family gathering. I will not go back or recommend this restaurant. Waited over 2 hours for our main course. Had to ask for rolls. No water was offered. Portion size is small especially for the price. When we complained there was no apology. Lastly don t advertise restrooms handicapped accessible when they are down a flight of stairs.
Omg... Wow.... Cannot express..real old fashion Italian cuisine meets the newvo soul of our times. Simple and elegant from ambience to plate to service. I didnt do more stars cause it is not close to me for regular eating. If you are going on the 401 any direction through Cornwall or just to do a weekend pls pls it is worth the visit. No I know no one there and I am definately coming back. Vegetarian options: They have spectacular sea food dishes and their vegetable options are in every part of the menu if you are solely vegan Wheelchair accessibility: The service starts from entry with rams and tables that are inclusive to the amazing eating area.
My husband and I have gone several times and the food is always excellent. The nice atmosphere and great service keep us coming back. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available
Family owned and operated with excellent food and service. There is plenty of room indoors and out for small or large groups.
Great food with a friendly staff.
Booked this place for my Moms 70th. Very classy restaurant with delicious food and amazing staff.
Nice place. Very friendly staff. Our waitress was very nice. Food is just above average Food
Very friendly staff. Food was ok..but..for my tastes..over priced and chintzy portions. My chicken breast meal was made with half of a chicken breast sliced down the middle...so a thin chicken breast meal...service tho was excellent . Food
Excellent Italian food! Owners are friendly and welcoming. Family owned. Reasonably priced. Loved my experience there!
Food was amazing. Staff was incredible. We will definitely be coming back again. Such a great lil spot if you want some good authentic Italian food.
We started with the fried zucchini. We followed up with chicken Paolo and chicken parmesan. Service was excellent
Great food, best Italian cuisine in town imho. Service is top notch, very attentive. Yes, the food does have a wait but as thier menu states, good food takes time. Reality should be, youre coming to enjoy the food and company, time shouldnt matter. Well be coming back soon.
Spend or $37 for a lasagna and I m sure at 99%. The pasta was frozen. I really don t know if they serve fresh food most likely the food or frozen and reheat it not worth the price they charge for the food there even the shrimp Frozen
Absolutely excellent! The welcome, the service, the superb meal and best creme brule ever and great owner hosts. Thank you for making our anniversary ever more special!
Amazing food and service
My fiancé and I had a very romantic evening with splendid staff, delicious food and incredible decor. Our server Chloe went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and special. Thank you Kathy and Chloe for the magical meal. Definitely recommend!
Had a yummy dinner here with our toddlers, one of whom has a milk allergy. The staff were so kind and accommodating! Even made us special dairy free bread. Dietary restrictions: Staff very accommodating of our son s dairy allergy! Kid-friendliness: Loved the patio seating for the kids!
Best meatballs Ive ever had
Had a delicious meal, with awesome recommendations from our server. Looking forward to returning Food
Good food, good service
Overpriced pasta, fish and meat dishes. They are accompanied beforehand by a starter such as mixed salad or minestrone which is necessarily necessary and which adds to the bill. Nice place and great staff.
Super good. Portions neither too big nor too small for a dinner. THANKS
The food is very good. Unfortunately, as a food critic, the portions were extremely small for the price. If you order pasta, the sauce is amazing but the portions are extremely small. For half the price you can go to East side Mario s, and have all you can eat pasta and only have one plate because of the size of the meal. The soup is maybe half a cup and the salads are also small. Other than that, everything else was good.
We stayed in Cornwall tonight on our way to Halifax. We saw this restaurant on places near us and decided to give it a try. We felt welcome from the moment we walked in. A very warm greeting and beautiful atmosphere set the stage for an amazing dinner. Our server, Chantelle was very friendly and there when we needed her and to ensure we were enjoying out meals and had everything we needed My partner had the Salmon and I had the chicken cacciatore. My meal was excellent and the sauce was delicious. My partners Salmon was by far the best either of us have ever had! Seriously flavorful and and moist. The caper sauce enhanced the taste and not overwhelming. We both highly recommend to those lucky enough to live close or to travelers like us looking for a great meal to end their day.
The Insalata Cesare salad was poor quality. The romaine was not fresh and there were only 3 little flakes of parmesan chesses and only 4 little croutons. The table spoon of dressing was insufficient. The only good thing about the meal was that the main was hot.
First time in Cornwall and being in Casa Paolo was such an amazing start. Amazing food, amazing and super friendly staff and atmosphere
Had been going to this restaurent for many years, was always happy with the food... but on our anniversery we made reservations for supper and ordered the Ceasar salads too small for the asking price and for my wife the Linguine Pescatore ( Seafood ) and I the Tour of Italy... The seafood liguine contained fake crab meet ( painted talapia stick ) canned mussels , mini salad shrimp and all that for $31.99... it was ok for taste but a let down for Quality... My Tour of Italy plate include a small 1/4 breast of chicken ( over cooked ) a spoon full of fetucine alfredo... and undercooked penne pasta... not impressed for 31.99.... as for deserts we ordered the Baileys cheesecakes and the didnt look anything like the menu picture or description $174.00 meal will be the last at this establishment...
Food was great and the service as well. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pasta available. Food : 5/5 |
I took my Girlfriend to Casa Paolo on Friday October 20th, 2023 for her Birthday Supper. Very Disappointing from the second we opened the door to some not pleasant Scented candle burning. we were pleasantly greeted and seated right away. We had not even sat down and the man next to our table was complaining about his meal. that was the 1st red flag. we ordered anyways. Food was average at best and horribly overpriced. A 3oz glass of red wine was almost $10. I felt bad for my GF as we were expecting so much better. Bottom line Never going back!
First time dining here. We will be back.
Great place great service wonderful atmosphere we were welcomed with a smile. The food was fantastic. We will be back soon thank you Casa Paolo.
Minimal Caesar salad maybe 3 limp lettuce leafs. Microscopic buns. Grossly overpriced escargot. Cold entrees with 1 asparagus.Yelling clients. Finally an overpowering bill. I felt ripped off. Sorry CP. But just a bad experience.
Fabulous meal!
Great food, great atmosphere!
Excellent pasta
Food was very tasty the garlic salad was a bit watery. The service was prompt and friendly. Reasonably priced. I would recommend to others
If you like Italian food. This place is great
Delicious Italian food and excellent service!
Great food,decent prices
We have been going to this restaurant for over 8 years now and its our favourite. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere and staff are warm and welcoming. We always look forward to returning. If you like veal saltimbocca, theirs is really worth trying.
My wife and I decided to go out on a Wed evening for a much needed relaxing dinner. We were greeted with a big smile as we walked in. The food and service were excellent! The Atmosphere was warm and inviting. All in all a great dinning experience for both my wife and I, we truly enjoyed it. I especially like that the owner came around to ask how everything was and followed by a pleasant conversation. Thank you Casa Paolo for a great evening.
We had a group event of 40+ on Good Friday, with only one day notice of the reservation. The staff offered us a limited menu of four selections, as we had an event to attend later in the evening. The selection was varied, with pasta, chicken, veal & salmon offered. The service & food were great!! Our whole group had nothing but praise- thank you! Highly recommend!!
Excellent food, good service. Recommend to us by locals. Not cheap but fine dining shouldnt be. Quite atmosphere for conversation. Restaurant can get crowded so we going on off peak nights might be better.
Service was exceptional. Our waitress seemed to know exactly when she was needed. There were four of us, and everyone made comments on how good the meals were. The lasagna was to die for, and the steak melted in your mouth. Anyone wishing for a dinner where the food is excellent, you are cared for in the best way, and your patronage is appreciated, try Casa Paolo.
Excellent meal and reasonably priced in an era where nothing is reasonably priced. Id go back.
My sister and I were here for her birthday, and we didnt have reservation. Cathy was awesome when I called at the last minute, and within a half hour we were sitting at a table. The food was excellent. Thank you Cathy
EXCELLENT!!...great food great staff..favourite place to have Italian food..best around
The food was fantastic , and the staff were so helpful (big thanks to Chloe) and welcoming in this wonderful restaurant. A really special experience. The cocktails prepared by Alex were delicious. Cant wait to visit again
Cant get better than this in cornwall. If you want a consistent excellent cuisine this is the best in cornwall. Best steak and lobster, homemade pasta. Ive tried them all over 30 years and have never been disappointed. All our new people in Cornwall from Toronto if you want a great meal try it, you wont be disappointed. They have a patio now so very comfy. The entire restaurant is classy including the friendly staff, never a problem. Veggies are grilled to perfection. Try the fried zucchini as an entree you wont regret it. Daily soup is included with meals and so good. You also have a choice of soup, salad or Caesar salad. Presentation is always mouth watering. Veggies are grilled to perfection and if you can try the fried zucchini, yum. Wish I could go more often
Excellent food, beautiful atmosphere, and attentive service. Thank you for making my birthday celebration a memorable!!
Grossly understaffed waited forever for our meals. When we complained to our waitress, she said that we were all in the same boat in other words, take a number. The owner offered no comps, which is her right, but not good business, as we will never return to this establishment.
Great place Amazing food Amazing hospitality Amazing ambiance. We recommend this place 100% Thank you for the great evening Debbie F
Terrible service
Have eaten there often and am never disappointed! There were 4 of us and we all enjoyed our dinners.
Great Italian food authenticly prepared second to none!
I really hoped to be able to leave a fantastic review but we felt let down. The service was outstanding and we had little wait time given its a small restaurant and the size of the menu. But the food/drinks didnt match the price, especially for Cornwall. The drinks were watered down. Im a lightweight and usually feel one martini. Having 2, I didnt feel anything. They were tasty however. The food itself was good. Serving sizes for entree were medium - more what youd expect for in-house made pasta/higher quality. Icky bread rolls that werent refilled (1 each)and no butter. For $200, including tip, for 2 of us with a shared appetizer, it just was a mismatch over expectations vs food/drink quality. 1/3 lower price or better quality, this would be a regular restaurant for us.
Overpriced but was packed! So.....
Parking: good parking
Such amazing food!! Truly a great experience. Vegetarian options: Two members of the party were vegetarians and easily found something to eat. Dietary restrictions: I have peanut/tree nut allergies and they have some nuts but it was not a concern. Stay away from the desserts.
The bread was hot and fresh out of the oven, the salad and salad dressing was good. They never refilled our water or offered us more bread. The chicken parmigiana was good, but definitely not the best. The sauce that I use at home tastes better to me. The portions are a little small, so if you re a big person, you might end up walking out hungry. We were there early, shortly after opening at 4pm and there was not even one customer there, but they kept analyzing if they could seat us somewhere. Eventually they did because someone only had a reservation at 7pm. We didn t want to sit there for hours - we just wanted to eat and leave.
We visited from Ottawa and they gave amazing service. The waitress and owner were so sweet!!! Drinks and Food was amazing I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Cornwall :) I will definitely be back!
I got surf and turf, food was great! Small portion
Casa Polo is a very good restaurant, we first visited two years ago during Covid and the staff was great the floor delicious. We went back last week and equally enjoyed ourselves. I recommend this restaurant.
Excellent evening! The food was excellent, perfect cooking and outstanding service
It s a busy local restaurant with various food choices
Close to hotel, walking distance
First time back in a few years. Wow. Happy to be back. Wish could be more than once a year.
Lady at the door said she was getting a table ready, it never came. I cant rate the food, but the rest is less than favorable..
Table of 14 for monthly family dinner...Great food for sure but why were we charged 10.00 more per plate than menu prices...I understand that with a larger group that a smaller menu to order from is easier on kitchen staff but to charge more per plate is offensive...I also would like to mention that there are no washrooms on premises for persons with mobility issues...washrooms are in the basement of restaurant making it impossible for disabled people to use...this is 2022...hmmm
We Love Casa Paolo. Great food great service.
Great service and delicious food!
Had an amazing dinner at Casa Paolo Ristorante Italiano, in Cornwall last night. The food and service was 5 star, great atmosphere with extremely competent and friendly staff, the owner actually comes to your table for a brief chat, and a surprise song and cake for my hubby s birthday with the owner actually participating in the presentation. A true gem in this area that we will certainly frequent again.
Went for business dinner on a weeknight. The atmosphere was warn and inviting. Cathy the owner greets you at the door and even remembers your name after not seeing you for a long time! Our waitress Sandra was delightful and very professional. She made a point to learn all our names. The food and the service were excellent. I has the linguini pescatore in an alfredo sauce and it was the first time I had such a flavourful seafood pasta dish. Everything was excellent and I highly recommend their restaurant for a business dinner or relaxing evening with great food!
Very expensive for a small town. Pasta is very cheap to produce no matter how you slice it, Way too expensive for what you get. Service amazing, atmosphere great.
Amazing experience filled with fresh bread, pasta, desserts and well paired wines! Perfect for someone looking for the authentic Italian experience. We really appreciate that it is a family run and owned business. Highly recommended!
It was very good the lady put us in we did not have an appointment and she was very busy but she put us all in my friends from Longuiel quebec The food was good yet miss fair was great and it was all good Id go back
My husband and I were passing through between Toronto and home in Michigan, staying in Cornwall after a weeklong trip to Boston and Maine. We were looking for an Italian restaurant and came across Casa Paolo and had the best meal of our whole trip! Thank you to the Spagnolo s for a wonderful last evening.
Food was good. Large portions. Especially liked the fried zucchini. Was cold but once we told the manager she kindly raised the heat. Worth a try.
First let me say that the only reason I gave this a three star review is because our waitress Sandra was simply amazing. We were a table of twenty and therefore needed to eat off a special Christmas menue they presented to us. I was told this was because it made things easier for the kitchen. My problem with this was the special menue price was almost double the price of the same meal on the regular menue. The portion size was very small and at $54.99 a plate very expensive. We had a large hockey team arrive after us and I noticed they were not given the special Christmas menue to order from but could order off the regular menue. My final complaint is after spending a ton of money at this establishment they wanted to charge us a $5.00 a plate fee to cut the birthday cake we had brought. Considering we were a group of 20 spending a lot of money they still wanted to charge us an additional $100.00 to cut the cake. We wont be back.......
Just want to thank Cathy for a wonderful dinner My husband and I ordered our favorite meal and as usual it was amazing. Thank you Casa Paula Hope to see you soon
Great service, lovely patio, background music was like being in a southern climate at a resort. Italian food was hot, tasty and a good portion. Nice warm rolls and crisp Caesar salad. Really loved the lasagna.
Amazing, everything, thanks
I am often disappointed with restaurants. Not so a Casa Paolo!!! Caesar salad to die for. Very attentive staff, but not too attentive. Great atmosphere My only complaint is that it is too far from home (Montreal). My thinking is that its worth the trip anyway.
Very good food, friendly service.
It was so good we enjoyed our .meal .
What a discovery! We were in the area and looking for a place to go for dinner for my girlfriends birthday. Picked this place and couldnt have picked better. Lovely atmosphere. Great food.
Visited for the first time today. Was very disappointed. The wait was long for everything. I ordered the spaghetti Bolognese with Italian sausage. The sausage was dry. The sauce was overly acidic with little meat, little flavour, and chunky with undercooked tomato. My partner had the carbonara - instead of cream sauce they served it with scrambled eggs (how do you call yourself Italian when you cant even get a basic carbonara right??). Two tiny plates of ceasar salad (no bacon). Two cheap wonderbread rolls. All this for only $60. The only redeeming factors were the excellent servers (who you can tell are doing their best) and the lone saint in the kitchen who knew to make the pasta al dente. Bless his heart.
Delicious and very good service
Nice evening for dinner on the patio. Food was delicious, service was good and drinks were cold. Nice outing.
It is always great to eat at a restaurant where the owner is there taking care of you. Restaurant was busy but service was good. Great Italian food.
I was having an ok experience here but my brother-in-law and mother-in-law both had mishaps in their food and drink. Food took an hour and a half but it was busy. That was fine. Brother-in-law had two fruit flies in his drink. He decided not to make a big deal of it. It was not comped. Mother-in-law finally got her food. Ate a lot of it. When she got to the bottom of the plate there was a hair in it. She was purely digusted. Notified the manager. Managers first reaction was to say the food had parsley, thats parsley She argued no, the hair. Manager acknowledged the hair and then tried to give her another plate for free. She had lost her appetite and no longer wanted to eat the food. Manager asked once more if she was sure she didnt want another plate. M.i.l at this point was sternly replying No, she was still hungry and too disgusted to eat. B.i.l suggested that her meal should at least be comped. Manager paused and asked if she had salad. To which she replied yes. Manager said that she would just be charged for the salad. Handled very poorly that the Manager wasnt originally even going to comp anything. We all thought it was pretty disgusting and should have at least taken her meal off for free from the get go. Salad or not. And not have had to compromise for that. Side Note. Food was amazing. Waitresses were great. Portions were in the small to medium size. Weve never eaten here before but other places where the food was this good it was nearly twice the size. Over 50$ for this one plate here. It was really nice but from the experience, treatment thereafter, and portion to price deal, we wont be coming back.
Waited an hour for our food. Calamari was overly salty and we had to send it back. It was replaced with a calamari totally without flavor. We had the New York strip which was very chewy and two pasta dishes which both had a watered down version of alfredo sauce. Way over charged for the quality served. The waitress was very nice and cooperative. She should train the hostess how to speak to people. Hostess was very short and somewhat miserable. We planned to have an 80th birthday party there but no way now.
Delicious pasta, excellent service.
The food is very good from appetizer to main course and dessert. Alfredo sauce is top notch. We enjoyed the meal on the very nice patio.
Small intimate great food and service
Nice place, almost romantic, food is awesome! I had dinner there by myself, and it didnt feel awkward. I will return!
It took us 2 1/2 hrs to get our meal. No apologie for the slow service and the portions were very minimal for the $$$
A great place. Shame it was quiet due to covid restrictions. Wonderful menu.
Well, no more for the price and especially the quantity on the plates. Dessert for $10 and it tries to be a high class restaurant. Im sorry, thats not the case...
Was very good food. Portions are small for the price
Server was amazing but I asked for an order of cream of asparagus soup for takeout and they filled the container not even a quarter of the way. Quite the rip off and really disappointing considering it was $7.50.
Great first time experiance. Great atmosphere friendly staff. Great food. Highly recommended. 5 star.
Great food. Only reason it s not 5 stars is because the menu is longer than a Thesaurus
First time in the restaurant. Food was excellent. We were there on a Tuesday evening and everything was very fresh. Calamari had just the perfect coating of breadcrumbs and veal Parmigiano was done perfectly, nice and tender. The wait staff are incredibly nice always with a smile! Bartender was even willing to try out a new mix for one of our party. We will be returning soon!
Lovely ambiance, excellent service, and friendly,. Food was delicious.
Soooo good! Loved the handmade pasta and top notch service.
Love the food. Best chicken parm around, bar none. Classy restaurant, great staff.
A wonderfully warm atmosphere, friendly and professional service. The food was outstanding!! I have found my new favorite place to eat. If you want an authentic Italian experience, and enjoy lovingly created food - this is the place for you. What a gem. My only regret is not going there before now.

Excellent service and food, not the typical pre-fab food, this food is real and fresh
Delicious meal and i felt very comfortable and safe to dine there amidst COVID 19
Great food and service. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves greatly.
Food is fresh and delicious and considering the QUALITY the price is pretty fair. I enjoyed the outdoor patio for my dining time and it was appropriately spaced for COVID measures. Staff service was good.
Very good service. Really friendly waitress and waiter. Except that in times of pandemic there was a lack of distance between the tables
Warmly welcomed, all the dishes were delicious! The starters yum escargot cup and the filet mignon wow...a favorite veal marsala escalope!! We loved it and we had a big crush
Always delishes! Great place to meet friends during these crazy times! Never disappointed!
This restaurant is phenomenal! The staff are so friendly and helpful (they know their food!) and the food, OMG. Each time my husband and I go, we choose a different dish, and we are NEVER disappointed; from the soup to dessert, its all delicious!! Well definitely be back.
My husband and I had our anniversary dinner here on Saturday night (Nov 14) and were so pleased with everything (were new to the area and it was our first visit). Lovely ambiance, romantic lighting and the food was all delicious. We had the caesar salad, cream of broccoli soup, chicken cardinale and chicken parmigiana and it was all beautifully presented and tasted great. The Baileys cheesecake was fresh and flavourful. Our server Katie was polite, professional and had a lovely, friendly personality--thank you for the great service and thanks to everyone for a lovely evening!
Atmosphere and service is outstanding!. Menu has ample choices to choose from with attention to detail on presentation and TASTE
Excellent food. I really enjoyed the Manicotti Fiorentina. For me this is the nicest restaurant in Cornwall. Having said that this would be an excellent Italian restaurant in any city. Staff is top notch as well.
We had our anniversary dinner last night and the food and service was fantastic.
Reservation was made for a Birthday dinner of six people. It was busy as usual on a Friday evening. Ordered our meals, all orders were either penne or chicken dishes. We asked for table rolls after waiting 30 minutes. When that finally arrived the waitress we had said the male server working with her took our rolls and she had to wait for ours. How long does it take to warm up rolls? It took over 1 1/2 hours for our meal to be served. When we asked why the wait was so long we were told that everything is made to order. I saw tables seated after our arrival getting served before our table. Pasta takes less than 10 minutes to cook, chicken less than 30 minutes. Food was mediocre. I would not rush back. Grandma makes better. At the end of the evening the hostess came to our table to further explain that they were very busy. What is a surprise to be busy? Your only open 4-9:30 pm and can t prepare accordingly? Will never return.
The establishment is beautiful. So warm and inviting. Staff were friendly and participated in the conversation about our great adventure driving east from Halifax . The food was delicious, the fri is were wonderful . I would highly recommend it if you are passing through Cornwall! Thank you Ashley !!!
Christmas party and the food was delicious
Excellent food and service !! Fantastic!
