Quaint little bistro! A wonderful variety of meal choices, prices are very reasonable and service is great!

Yummy food! We had a very nice Italian lunch here. Pasta and salad all made very well and the server was super nice. We will be back.

Had an excellent dinner here last night. Salmon paired nicely with olives tapenade with a pepper sauce. Short ribs cooked to perfection, melts in your mouth. Dessert was chocolate mousse.. perfect ending. Highly recommend. No regrets. If, we visit the area again, it will be on the list to revisit.

Who would have guessed that the best meal we would have on our two week tour of Eastern Canada (Quebec, Montreal, and Ottawa) would be in Cornwall? Our diners at Birchwood Restaurant & Bar were wonderful and the dessert was delicious. Sorry for no photos, but just look at everyone elses to get an idea. Parking: Only PAID street parking, but at least it is free after 6pm (at least for weekdays).

we shared the brushetta for an appetizer and it was fantastic!! our entrees were the Salmon and Chicken Supreme and both were very good. the staff were friendly and gracious. its a small place. (approx 30 guests) plus patio for fair weather. nicely decorated. clean and not loud. Parking: on street in front Kid-friendliness: more for adults

Great food, great service. We were there for my wifes birthday, which is also Valentines Day, so we got the set menu. So we will be returning to try it out on a more typical night, but this was a great meal...charcuterie plate was tasty, salad was fresh, and my leg of lamb delicious, and the wifes gnocchi particularly noteworthy. Also had a delicious and reasonably priced bottle of wine. Wait staff friendly and knew their stuff. The room could have been better, but it wasnt bad. All in all, a lovely dining experience

Very small menu with good options. Clam chowder was worth the $ 9 for half a cup. Roasted pear salad delicious. $30 for soup and salad. A lot of wine options. Pricey but clean little restaurant in office building. Paid street parking. Food

I had the most amazing dinner at Birchwood and the service was impeccable! Everything was carefully curated to make our group feel special and the flavours were unique and delicious. Highly recommend on all fronts!

Believe it or not I initaly went into this building for a haircut which unfortunately was closed., and noticed a restaurant at the end of the hallway called Birchwood , so I figured Id just have a drink as I never even heard of the place nor had planned on finding it, to my surprise the service was absolutely phenomenal from the welcoming I received just by peeping my head in the doorway to deciding to order up a ceaser which was spot on in taste, and after having a quick peek at the menu decided to try something light, so I ordered the white wine mussels wow absolutely amazing both presentation and taste ... Im so happy I stumbled upon this little gem of a place..... I will definitely be back asap to further explore there menu..... Kind Regards Todd sullivan Definitely a new customer going forward .. Such a great restaurant and is definitely one of my all time favourites - and I live in Ottawa. I had the carbonara and it was delicious. A must try. The service was excellent and our waitress, Mardie, was extremely helpful and friendly. I can t recommend this restaurant enough.

My husband and I went to Birchwood restaurant for Valentine s Day. The chosen menu was delicious and so visually pleasing. These were not tiny plates, we definitely didn t go hungry. Our servers were so attentive and professional and made our experience absolutely lovely. Would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone. We can t wait to go back.

What a wonderful little gem! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The dishes are creative and beautifully presented. The prices were good for the quality. My duck breast was tender and perfectly cooked. My partners scallops were super fresh and melted in our mouth. I look forward to returning.

Excellent food at a fare price. Beautiful patio but unfortunately closed due to weather. Ask for extra sauce if you order the mussels. Will return next time I am in Cornwall. Kid-friendliness: A bit of room to park stroller , friendly staff

I received a gift certificate as a bday gift. We played phone tag to make reservations, a bit frustrating. After appetizers our table was uncomfortable due to volume of music and sun beating in, so server graciously re-seated us. Mushroom soup was ok - but lacked any discernible flavour. I d pass the next time. I found my Scallops on Fennel & Orange Salad to also lack a punch of flavour, although the Scallops were cooked perfectly and a generous portion of 8. My partner ordered Butterflied Pacific White Prawns on a creamy Pesto Linguini. It was flavourful but the Prawns disappointed. Most definitely the highlight of the meal was the coffee and Tiramisu - outstanding!

The reason for my negative review is not based on the food but the service. We arrived as a group of 8 at 11:30 today. The restaurant was empty, they said we could not sit together, which was okay. We decided to split up our party. We realize being 8 last min is hard to accommodate for a small restaurant. However the staff started talking about us in the kitchen. The language was foul, and went on and on. This made us very angry. We heard every word. The food is great here, but because of this incident we cannot and will not recommend this place to anyone. We left out of fear of having our food spit in. Whoever owns this establishment should know that this was a terrible incident that reflects very badly on his business.

We had a lovely lunch at Birchwood today. Great place to grab a drink and lunch with a friend. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. Thank you!

Stopped in to wait for my father getting eye surgery next door and what a surprise very clean funky spot great service and food way better than expected for This city. Hats off to a small team doing a great job at what they love doing. Photo shown the pear and beat salad

What a little gem of a place we have here in Cornwall. Ive enjoyed many wonderful dishes including, most recently, this delicious lentil curry soup. Chef made comfort food right there! If you havent been, you should.

Everyone in our party had the braised beef short rib and we were all completely blown away. The sides and au jus were absolutely perfect. The protein and portion sizes were great value. Awesome wine list to. Good work Birchwood crew

My husband and I had such a lovely date night here last Friday! Probably the best food we ve had in Cornwall! We can t wait to go back!

Birchwood is a great spot. Its not a large restaurant so make a reservation. The service, food and ambiance are all high quality. Ive been there for supper 5 or 6 times and everything has been excellent each time.

This is a magnificent place with wonderful food and classic cocktails. You should patronize this place.

Wow! Five stars for sure. This gem of a place really did impress. Honey chicken and chorizo gnocchi were perfectly flavored and well portioned. Staff was extremely nice and while we were unable to dine in, the patio and indoor decor looked lovely. I imagine the plating would be beautiful. Cant wait to dine in person!

The first time for mussels in Cornwall. The Birchwood got it right, the mussels were tasty with the wine broth, it made a nice soup in the end. The price is good and food quality excellent. The service was wonderful, there enough to get your order and find out if your food is to your liking, well worth returning to.

Excellent value for money in the heart of Cornwall. The terrace is pleasant, the service brilliant and the food sublime. We loved everything about it. Hummus was tasty and generous then the shrimp linguini to die for! Definitely recommended

Birchwood is a great place to spend an evening with friends or a nice romantic dinner while enjoying some amazing food.

I wish I took a picture of the food. Had the Chicken soup and zucchini salad with shrimp. Absolutely inspiring! The place was so CLEAN! They even sanitized the seat of the booth! Met chef Carson, he mentioned he moved the restaurant from accross town, then under a different concept. I didn t partake in cocktails, but they had quite the selection. Gold silverware with clean new dishes. Service was awesome.

Nice little place in downtown cornwall...food was very good

Very disappointing. Have had good service and good food four previous times. Today the server( partner ) was just rude - if she could put down the plates any harder on the glass table she would have....never talks and short. Loved serving the next table over as they are the cocktail hour customers - allowed to order off a different menu and quick friendly service. Food was over spiced hot. Mussels were just ok. A complete disappointment for our Anniversary Lunch! Will not be back!

Really enjoyed my first visit to Birchwood, the ambience was lovely. The mussels were done to perfection and the carbonara delicious. Although I dont eat dessert often, the chocolate mousse was heavenly. Bravo! Thank you to Marti?, looking forward to my next visit.

One of the best small restaurants in the area. Make a reservation for sure. Excellent food and service. The gnocchi was superb, as was the squash salad. We will return.

Remarkable staff, food, and service.

Love the interior of this restaurant and their patio. Food feels like a lot of heart is put into it. Fresh and untypical ingredients that have lots of personality in every dish. Lots of care put into the cooking. Service is also very friendly!

Brunch with my partner for her Birthday. We Both had the deliciously different Corn Chowder with intoxicating herbs. Followed by a simple pesto, cheese and tomato Toasty. Finished with a shared but huge Carrot Cake. One that rivals any that Ive ever had. Carson makes everything in house except bread. Wonderful ambience. Really worth a try.

Lovely cafe right on Pitt Street. I have tried many of their sandwiches and they are all so good! my favourite is always the Ham and Pesto though. The atmosphere and staff are always very welcoming and cheerful. Definitely stop by for a quick lunch if your in the area.

Great little cafe with an good variety of foods. Ive tried several of their baked goods and a few different coffee based drinks and enjoyed them all.

Last night we tried the Birchwood at their new location at 119 Sydney. The experience was great. Food was delicious and service was great. Menu offer vegetarian, beef, chicken and seafood options. Food was flavorful. Will definitely go back again!
