Real. Food. Fast. Big Wheel Burger provides the best quality burgers, shakes, sodas and fries through local, sustainable and environmentally friendly resources. It's fast food without the guilt trip. By taking responsibility for our impact and choices, we strive to offer a classic burger joint experience that doesn’t harm the environment, our customers, or our communities. We hope this sets an example for other businesses to follow.
Impeccably clean , great staff and amazing burger and fries wrapped around a business plan centered around sustainability and community support. There are a few great burgers in town but none of them deliver it while supporting the food bank and other community resources. It's about more than fast food .
Happy to try food as I like their policies. Very disappointed. Chickpea burger had something moldy tasting. Double regular burger was so burnt, half was inedible. Apple pie shake only tasted of too much cinnamon and not full amount. Fries were awesome. I will never order again. Expensive too!
Got the “hot Nashville chickpea” burger. I have a funny feeling they missed putting the Nashville sauce on it because all I got was a soggy chickpea patty that was lightly seasoned and not even a tiny bit of heat to speak of. No crunch whatsoever either. The patty also completely fell apart and out of the bun about a quarter of the way through eating it. Fries were good. Service was friendly and accommodating which was great. The food though? At almost 20 bucks for the meal this was a real dud unfortunately.
The food that we got was good! They were out of milkshakes and could only accommodate regular fries due to ‘training’. So we weren’t able to get the full experience that we’d hoped for. The space was very clean but there were only 1 other couple in the restaurant at the time. Staff were as friendly as teenagers go! Nothing outstanding. We will probably come again because the burgers were the second best in town (nothing compares to Cooks)!
The sign says "Real food, fast". It was nearly 10 minutes before my order was complete. I found it to be quite expensive - cheeseburger, fries and a shake was $27. The shake had a slightly unpleasant texture to it, but it was OK otherwise. The fries were hot (probably why it took so long), and were the best part. The cheeseburger was very disappointing. The bun was chewy, and the pattie was cooked at too high a temperature, so was hard and pointy round the edges and actually shiny in places. There were a fair few pickles, which is nice, but they were almost stacked one on top of the other, so you just get one pickle-filled bite then no more. And that's a shame because they gave flavour to an otherwise bland and essentially boring burger. I'm afraid I shall not be returning. I can get a better equivalent meal elsewhere with more taste and at a much cheaper price. The place itself was clean, though there was still work being done on it.
I tried this for the first time and it was awesome! The staff and manager of the Courtenay location were very welcoming. I had the ghost burger and although it was super spicy, I loved it. My husband had the double cheeseburger and it was delicious! The fries and gravy were very tasty as well. Really fresh and delicious. We brought it home and it carries well.
Took a little while to get out food but was it ever worth it. The burger tasted like it was made with real ingredients and the taste reflected that. My dog ordered a single patty (no spices) and she loved it. Good job guys!
Delicious! My husband was a fan of them when he lived in Victoria so we were really looking forward to the opening. They did not disappoint. Burgers were tasty, big and filling. Cajun Fries crispy and good. We really appreciate the condiments bar with the hot peppers, relish, and sauerkraut. Bonus: The pumkim shake. Really good! Tasted like a pumpkin pie rather than the overly sweet swill they pass off as pumpkin spice these days. Highly recommend!
Edible.
Refused to pick up and deliver my order. 1.5 hr later, I call Uber Eats and no response. I call the restraunt and they tell me all uber eats drivers refuse to deliver the food. I cancel order as suggested by the restraunt and I receive a $5 refund and they kept the rest. The order total was $27. They took 21 and gave ne 5. How is this? Its not right and harsh. Just shows Uber Eats is
It s not horrible food but a surprisingly long wait time for Cajun fries, (just fries with spice) even if they took their time it should be 8 minutes but I waited close to 16 I hope they hire new people in the back.
Very good burger and onion rings. Best burger Ive had in a while
Lucas has helped us a few times here and he is a damn ray of sunshine. Just the most positive and helpful human around. The food is always great and solid music playing. Glad to finally have them in town. Kid-friendliness: The kids meal is actually tasty and well prepared, unlike most places. The staff always offer colouring and little things to entertain the kids. Very welcoming.
Forget that its on cliffe by the warming center I have never had such customer service 10/10 food was fresh and tasted delicious and the owner gave me a breakfast sandwich on the house and I left with a smile on my face support local everybody its worth it
Burger was absolutely cremated as was the bacon and bun. Absolutely inedible. Cajun Fries were good. Won t be ordering again.
Restaurant not busy lots of staff . Been waiting 20 minutes for a burger. But burger is very good. Need to improve wait times.
Very good all around, just like the Victoria Big Wheel locations. Extremely fresh and delicious options. Will be back!
Service is great. Not really impressed with the food though
These are the best burgers on the island. So glad they finally opened up in Courtenay.
Did bigwheel copy cooks or did cooks copy bigwheel? Dont really care though, the food is low-key fire with a larger menu than cooks and more economically friendly. Cooks makes better burgers though, but im not saying that bigwheel burger is bad, its amazing!
Just as good as the other locations. Glad they finally opened up in Courtenay. Vegetarian options: Veggie burger Kid-friendliness: Has a kids combo Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible
One of the best burgers Ive tasted. Fries are delicious and the milkshake was excellent. Ill be back.
Sloppy mess , save your $
So happy Big Wheel has made it to the Comox Valley, big fan of the crunchy chicken burger and milkshakes. Lovely staff and lots of dining space! Will post pics next time I ate my food to quickly to get a pic.
the burgers and shakes were as delicious as we have had in their other locations - but the service was above and beyond. as a newer location, the change tables were not yet installed. (who i assume was) the manager offered us his cleared off desk to change our son on, and was very gracious in apologizing for the inconvenience. love to see a business that is truly child friendly!
The first time we picked up food here and we were really disappointed. Burgers were pretty much tasteless and so was the poutine. Milkshake was just half way filled. Not worth the money spent. Food
Excellent service, clean and food was good!!
Walked in two minutes before closing, staff was more than excited to make me the best fast food burger Ive ever had.
Always amazing food at Big Wheel Burger. We would drive to Nanaimo for this food for a few years and now that it is here is fantastic. Same fantastic food with great service. P.S. the deep fried pickles need to stay on thr menu not just a feature. They are the best Thank you for finally coming to the Comox Valley.
