The staff were friendly, dressed well and happy make food for me. The mexifries were fresh out of the fryer. Very positive experience.
Girls are great team, but there where flies in 2 of my burritos.
Disappointed that we ordered at 7:15pm and were told it had to be take out only as they close at 8PM! I’d understand if it was 7:50pm we arrived, but its not like it would take us 45 mins to eat!!
Very poor facial service from workers without a smile, the worker didn’t ask what taco I wanted and decided for me that I wanted a soft one, the food looks terribly different from the picture, the worker wearing gloves took my money and then used the same gloves to make me a taco.
This Taco Time is a strange little place. Experiences here are always a little off. Yesterday my wife and I came in just before 7pm and waited to order. We ordered 2 Crisp Beefs, Large Mexi-fries and a Large Drink. It was a couple minutes before they put into the till. Before we got our food, they informed us that we could no longer eat in the restaurant, it would have to be takeout. They said they close the lobby at 7, even though they are open until 7:30. The lobby currently had guests in it that just sat down, but we had to go eat in our car. Pretty frustrating that they can’t accommodate people eating in inside when tacos burritos and dips notoriously fall all over when you eat them. Their restaurant stayed ”clean” but our car did not. This place is always a bit dirty too. It feels as though it never really gets a deep clean. It was Cinco de Mayo. I went back in before they closed to get their $2 Taco Deal. The one employee was deep into the cash out. She didn’t say anything but silently took another couple minutes and finished the cash out before offering service. The other girl was sweeping the floor and the employee that served me kept brushing the counters off onto the floor where the girl had already swept. There was some silent tension, but the one girl didn’t seem to care. Overall, it’s Taco Time. The food is decent. You can eat for $10-$15 each. Care is very limited. Your tacos may all be broken by the time they wrap them. Don’t count on fast and although they’re open, don’t plan to eat in.
Really bad choice to go here. My first visit inside, was uncomfortable to say the least, the attendants barely looked at us and we're not friendly at all, to be frank, they were speaking in their native tongue- which is fine, but I know tonality and I know they were not being kind. Very ignorant humans. The food was subpar at best. Now today I ordered skip, the food showed up cold and NOT fresh, the tater tots we're so old and essentially ice cold....the tacos were cold and also crumbled, lettuce not fresh. A complete waste of money and time waiting. (Had to throw everything out as I'm not willing to get food poisoning)
Last night I ordered my usual veggie burrito, no cheese and no sour cream as I can't eat it. I asked the worker if she could sub out the dairy for guac instead and she said okay. When I got home and took a bite I noticed it had sour cream and cheese immidetely and no guac. This is probably the 6th maybe even 7th time this has happened to me where I've had to throw out perfectly good food. The time I get off work I can't drive back either to ask them to make it properly as they are closed by the time I get back. I will no longer be eating here. I articulate my words very clearly every time I go in to make sure whoever is working knows I'm asking for no dairy. No sour cream. No cheese. And 70%- 80% of the time my request is completely disregarded. It's incredibly frustrating especially when I'm wasting money on something I'll have to throw out after a long day of work and then I'm still hungry. Very disappointed.
A local staple in Courtenay for as long as I can remember. It's been open for decades. A good place to get your Mexican food fix!

Great food, but the portions have gone WAY down. And now they are portioning how much salsa they give. Used to have a station to use yourself and now you get one little container and want to charge you for extras... Not going back.
Always stop in and grab something to go. They changed something in the beef maybe the seasoning they use. Its not as good as it used to be.
Great for a quick bite of mexican food. Hot sauce is awesome.

Horrible service, we were in at 7 to order for take out and they told us to hurry because they close in 5 minutes. They close at 730 tho. The place smells like an outhouse and the service sucks. Cheap take out but I ll pass on it from now on. Better service everywhere else and plenty of options. Kid-friendliness: They have a good kid option now at least

Went in with my gf to try a different spot. She ordered a bean burrito, specifically asking for it without cheese and sour cream as shes vegan. Employee says sure no problem. $50 later, we leave. We get home, after the second bite she spits it out; it has both cheese and sour cream. She says she should have checked, as its happened the past couple times as well. Lesson learned. We wont be back.

Not good at all any more the mexifry deluxe Grose changed the cheese and its disgusting and they barely put any on the crisp meat burrito is not the same hasnt been for a while ,and the bathrooms I dont think ever get cleaned properly all around yukky!!

Not a very appealing place.slow service but our burritos were good. One bathroom closed. 2nd bathroom had only 1/2 toilets functioning. That wasnt good to see.

Its slightly different with the new owners, no self serve hit sauce it is .35c per container after the 1st one. There is a woman who works here and he memory is impressive (like the man at Georges!) I had a large order for 11 people and she remembered it all in one go. Same food, same location added bonus with menu change is they have crunch wraps!! So good!!

Ive always loved taco time so when we moved to Campbell River it sucked because they dont have one! So every couple weeks we drive in to go here... Never again! The girls working are so unbelievably rude, they sit there chasing to each other while youre in front of them in their own language. Well, heres a little tip. You should never insult or speak rudely of people in front of them in a different language assuming they cant understand you, because I can abs I heard every single work you said about every person that you guys served. You should be ashamed abs the owner should be also Then on top of it the food was absolutely disgusting! I dont know what youve done or changed but the tacos were inedible to the point my dog wouldnt touch them. I ordered mexi fries deluxe large and when we got outside they were small regular mexi fries I asked for hot sauce No hot sauce I paid for sour cream No sour cream This was disgusting when I went back asking for my money back with the gross food the girls were so busy giggling acting like idiots that they werent doing anything and then told me they didnt want the food back?!? But that they werent allowed to refund or replace What kinds of scammy place is this not impressed

I have had taco twice in the last month or so. Tonight I ordered a chicken burrito with no tomatoes....I said my order twice. I didnt get chicken and I got lots of tomatoes. Last time I got a super meat burrito and received bean burritos. I am very unimpressed, with the customer service. Why say the order twice if no one is listening to me? I was wanting chicken,. I have lost interest in this restaurant. People need to double check the order before you hand it to the customer saying everything is there!!!

One of my favourite places to eat in the Comox Valley. Staff are courteous, professional, and efficient. The owner is a delight! The food is always fresh and fantastic. Thursdays are a great day to get a bargain! The restaurant is kept clean and the energy is positive.

Stopped for a quick bite with 5 other people. Loved my Burrito Bowl. It was fresh and fast the service was friendly and the facility was clean. The hot sauce had a nice bite and you can order a Corona (or other choices) to compliment the very reasonably priced meal. Will be back, so much better than McDonalds.

The odour of human sweat inside this establishment was quite off-putting. Food was meh, prices are on par with any fast food options. Service was satisfactory.

The staff here are fantastic, polite, and professional. The shop is clean and comfortable. Food is better than at most Tacotimes

Absolutely inprofessional and unwilling to help. My wife and I dont often order out but we thought it would be a nice change to have tacos for dinner since our children are young and dont really eat beef there would be a treat for us. After getting our food delivered through skip the dishes we realized that outside of our Mexican fries have every part of our order was wrong. I ended up with 2 tacos that only had beans on them. I specifically dont get beans ever. No beef at all which is exactly what I wanted and my wifes taco was done wrong as well. We Called Taco Time and they said it was their fault but I dont know theyre fault but unless I was willing to come get more from their location they were not gonna deliver it to us and they didnt have delivery people right now.So they fully admitted that they did are entire order incorrectly But were unwilling to deliver us the right order. And unfortunately because of timing of that day and the whole reason we couldnt go out to get it ourselves originally I couldnt get my corrected order even if I wanted to. Not very impressed and honestly and honestly the tacos that I did get were like mush
Ordered through skip the dishes - asked for a beef hard taco, 2 beef soft tacos and a veggie soft taco. Got 3 bean burritos and a cheese taco. Called the restaurant and asked them to swap our order for the correct one. They said no! The girl kept repeating we don t deliver. I said then how did I get it delivered? She repeated we don t deliver. She I said then how did it get delivered? She repeated we don t deliver. Then hung up without even getting my name.
We get the TacoTime fries at least once a week with extra hot sauce and they are great. Sometimes we get the super beef tacos and they are delicious.
Had a burrito and taco salad , none of it was heated - the only thing that tasted good was the mexi fries

Ordered over skip the dishes for pick up at restaurant. Tacos were cold and left on counter in bag vs under a heat lamp to keep warm. Very unimpressed, especially after calling restaurant to ask them to keep them warm for us while we drove to pick them up.
Taco Tuesday! (I got the cheese, she tastin the Kool-Aid) -So happy to have a taco lunch in my neighborhood that is quick and affordable. The beers are a bonus too!

Been coming here for many decades. Changed a bit over the years but service was great and food was good.
The service was horrible. They made the wrong order and wouldn t correct it. The person taking our order was an unsupervised trainee who couldn t speak English. The trainer should have been helping him. The food was cold and disgusting. I would have returned it but I was afraid they would argue with me again! Save your money and go elsewhere!

I love taco time tacos and this location has always done it well. I just finished eating 4 hard shell beef tacos and they were exquisite.
That was my first visit, and my last. It was okayish. I wouldnt call it authentic. I would call it a Mexican meal made by someone who has never been to Mexico or ever tasted mexican food. Just saying.

Dont let the dreary neiborhood turn you away, this is actually a pretty decent Taco Time. The food is of much better quality than some other locations on the island. The staff is a bit stoic but they are polite and professional and get the job done. I find myself making excuses to drive out to Courtenay!
I love the food in this restaurant but I find it frustrating that they turn off delivery right at dinner time and they stop answering the phone to order for pick up. What I find even more frustrating is to drive 3 min to the store after not having the phone answered seeing not a soul in the restaurant so why couldnt they answer the phone. I have chosen to go elsewhere so many times as I cant get a hold of them to order.
There are two employees called Shahana and Harjot who took my orders and they are so good and efficient in their service. I was immensely impressed with the way they effortlessly carried themselves at the counter, that within minutes I received what I had ordered. Hats off to all the people out there. Keep up the good work !!!

Never again! Took my sister for lunch! And talk about making mistakes after mistakes! This was the first time ever at this location, been to some of the best in Alberta (Edmonton & Calgary), even Nanaimo! But this location in Courtney is for the Birds!! My sister ordered the large beef burrito combo, had to explain twice! I ordered the same but extra large mexi fries! And 2 extra large burritos! Boy they sure put the lettuce on, when I stated not to much! They had 3 staff on to help! 2 young ladies, and older one! Who doesnt listen very well! I paid for everything, then was told they under charged us! So a extra $16.00 later bill was corrected! It was their fault to begin with the communication they had! They shouldve been the one to take care of the bill not, the customer who didnt make the mistake to begin with! Also asked how much sodium was in the process of the hamburger! Didnt even get a polite answer to my questions! So thats why 2 stars instead of 5, the reasons was for the 2 good looking service Ladies! The Atomsphere in the building could do with a upgrade & cleaning...

Normally they are great but they have seriously cut the size of the large Mexi fries deluxe in half but still the same price. They also over cooked the crisp meats.

Great fast Mexican food and they serve beer to go with your food. If you like it a little hotter ask for the green sauce I always get extra. Been a customer for over 20 years. Been my go to place in Courtenay for a good lunch or early supper.
Im pretty sure the meat is mostly horse but its still tasty. Its not cheap for a fast food joint.

Family enjoyed lunch here on Sunday. Several things: great Mexican music, tasty filling food with good service, and Mexican beer too! This could be a good spot for an informal group get together, pre Christmas. Nothing fancy, but cost conscious for sure.
