250 6th St, Courtenay, BC V9N 1M1, Canada
Easygoing breakfast-to-dinner cafe serving global dishes, along with beer & wine.
Always great food and drinks A long standing go to
Great for a resort town! Atlas Cafe was able to provide my companions and I delicious food and good service within a tight time frame. I appreciated the responsiveness of their friendly staff and the simpleness of the menu.
It's very trendy. I had the Angela Burger with brie. Wouldn't order it again, but it was very filling, and the beef patty was perfect. The appetizers were incredible. Had little falafel balls and loved them. The staff are amazing and it's much bigger inside than you'd expect. Very poor area for parking but a nice place to pop into if you're walking around town. The bartender was very skilled. There are plenty of gluten-free options. Uncertain if there's accessible facilities, but I know the washroom I used required 2 steps to reach. The main dining area is accessible. A walker and a cane managed well. Would be wheelchair friendly.
Brunch was amazing here! The service was great and the food was fantastic. i highly recommend checking out Atlas, one of the best meals we have had in Courtenay!
Visiting for the day and just googled places for lunch. The reviews were all positive so decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed. There were five of us and all of us enjoyed our meal. The menu had good variety. Two had tuna burgers, one had the salmon bowl, one had tuna tacos and the last had a falafel bowl. All were fantastic. The service was great. Small patio outside. Next time we are in the area, we would go back.
Oh my god! This was amazing Enchilada (vegetarian) I had in a long time!! Actually No, this is the first time I am impressed with Enchilada. It was delicious and perfectly made, a crispy tortilla (which I never had it because everywhere the tortilla is dipped into the sauce and it gets soggy, yuk!!). Oh but the tortilla rolls in this place was crispy and of course you have the firecracker rice with tomato sauce under that you can have it along with tortilla roll!! This was just amazing. Thank you Atlas Cafe for making this. Atlas Cafe is a great choice!!!
Great spot! Very well-made food that trends toward the healthier side with lots of fresh ingredients. Everything we had was made with love. The Ahi Tuna Burger stood out in particular. Very good cocktails served by the bar staff as well. It was very busy and only two servers were working but they had a smile on their face the whole time and were very efficient. Prices are quite cheap relative to the food quality, which is nice. The patio area would be a highly recommended place to sit if it's nice outside. It's a little quiet and drab inside the restaurant, but the patio is beautiful
Nice little spot for lunch! Decent parking with a nice little walk downtown. The servers are very friendly and attentive. The food was very flavourful and fresh! Impressive for sure. We sat inside but when we go back we will try the patio, it looks so inviting!
Great spot for weekend brunch
Always great food here. My go-to spot in the Comox Valley.
Fresh Island Shellfish (clams, in the tomato and white wine sauce) was amazing! The falafels were drier than we would have wanted. Service was outstanding however! Kid-friendliness: Staff were accommodating and offered high chairs. Kids menu doubled as colouring sheet.
Omg, I thought I died and went to heaven! The Angela burger, with the blue cheese and poached pears, and add-on caramelized onions... Cant stop talking about it. Going to bring my foodie son to try it! Thank you for a sensational experience for my taste buds!!
Its the best seafood chowder ever!
Everytime I come the food is fantastic and the people are amazing! Great little spot if u want to come for lunch or dinner!
Good cappuccino and great hot chocolate
Extensive menu including tasty GF options! I enjoyed the pulled pork tacos. Great vibe, excellent service, and clean washroom. If I return to Courtney I would eat here again!
Server was average, but OMG the hostess what a sour experience. Almost empty restaurant at lunch. Unpleasant demeanor and when we asked to be seated at a different table her expression showed she was aggravated. I have been here several times but will think twice before I return.
We had a great experience at Atlas Café, an institution in Courtenay for nearly 30 years. Our experience was marred only via a rather rude and perplexing seating experience. Despite emphatically telling us that they do not take reservations for parties less than 6 people, the owner Trent acted like seating us at 5PM was an issue, telling us we needed to clear our table by 6:30 for a reservation , despite being in a nearly empty restaurant. Trent s perplexing lack of hospitality aside, our server Erin was a gem, and took great care of us. My rating for service reflects Trent, not our lovely server Erin. Our cocktails were delicious, and began the meal on a good note. For an appetizer, we shared the focaccia with garlic and cheese. While it wasn t bad, it was a little plain with the bread lacking herbs and texture. Broiling the cheese would have dramatically improved the dish, though the bread itself was the main issue. For our mains, we ordered the falafel bowl with prawns and feta, and the carbonara with chicken. Both entrées were flavorful, well prepared, and good value for money. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse while my wife had the carrot cake. Both were very delicious, though my wife remarked that the icing of the carrot cake was a little too sweet for her taste. This didn t stop her from eating the cake on its own. At several points during our meal, Trent, who had greeted us so poorly, walked past our table like he was keeping an eye on our progress against the ticking clock. Overall, this was a really great experience, though we felt rushed and unwelcome the entire time due to Trent s behavior. This is probably the first time in recent memory that we have had someone at a restaurant make us feel so unwelcome, so I am sad to turn what would be a glowing five star review into a barely passing four. I hope the owner treats you better than he did my wife and I.
A few good vegan options. I had the falafel bowl which was great
Food and service was excellent, highly recommend.
Their best menu item (by a LONG shot) was the yam/sweet potato eggplant quesadilla and they took it off the menu for some reason?? I had family members/friends, (even friends of friends) coming to town for the soul purpose of trying it, and was completely let down to find out they re no longer on the menu. My second choice being the squash goat cheese quesadilla, came NOTHING close to the experience of the yam and eggplant. Excellent staff, but the food no longer reaches my expectations.
We try to eat here whenever we are in town. JP, our server, thank you for the great service!
Food is always good. The only thing is the water tastes of chlorine.
One of my favourite places to dine, obsessed with their Salmon Burger and salad with citrus dressing. Always busy, and great with allergies. Dietary restrictions: Im gluten free, dairy free and soy free and they are greatly accommodating
Love the vegan and vegetarian options at Atlas. Their menu is inventive and appealing. Vegetarian options: Multitudes of vegan and vegetarian options! It s not just one or two sides; there are many yummy choices.
We chanced upon this gem on our way through to Comox. Great service from the start to end of our visit. Food was excellent and did not have to wait long for our meals. Fantastic value and excellent quality food.
Delicious food and drinks Kid-friendliness: We did not have any kids with us, but other families did. Servers were very friendly with the kids and loved to joke with them. Food : 5/5 |
Fantastic pulled pork breakfast bowl.
The enchilada was more like a fried burrito but it was very filling and tasty! Couple of hearty vegetarian options
One of my favourite places to eat in the valley. Food is always delicious and the service great.
Fantastic service and food. We were kindly gifted a voucher to use at this cafe which is the only reason we discovered it, and we are so glad we did. Potentially an area of town we wouldn t have ventured to as we were just passing through Comox for a few days. The coffee was the best I have had in Canada to date (we have been travelling around the West Coast of Canada for 2 months). The barista here, and the beans they use are both superb! There was a good selection on the menu for brunch and the food was delicious. I had the Benedict with fried rice and pumpkin. My eggs were perfect with nice runny yolk and firm white, as requested. My partner had the Mexican influenced Benedict dish on a tostada which he thoroughly enjoyed. The cafe was busy with people of all ages. It must be a local hot spot. We were seated immediately despite this, and didn t have any trouble hearing each other speaking amidst the background music (indie/alternative which we enjoyed)and the happy chatter of local cafe goers. Parking: There is a parking lot about 3 metres up the road from the cafe, on the left. Though there is also on street parking if you are fortunate enough to time a cafe front spot.
Highly recommend this place. t Great food and service. Love it here!
Delicious food with nice presentation.
Fresh, filling, and top-notch service. Cost is good for quality food. Busy but not overly loud.
Always great, food is so delicious!
Nice trendy atmosphere both inside and outside patio. Quick and efficient servers (but not so warm/friendly). Food was reasonable/good quality but we all agreed the burgers are way too small (maincourse $22-25) So to get a decent diner you will end up ordering an appetizer, sides and a desert..... ending up with approx $45-50 pp, excluding drinks..... So a expensive for what you get (but nowadays that is almost everywhere...)
Have always loved this place. It s very cute and cozy inside and clean. Love the outside patio as well:) food is always great and love it as it s a healthier option unlike most places around here. Their chicken enchilada is to die for!
There was a big bug on the seat I was on but the food was pretty good
We stopped in for lunch on our first trip to Courtenay, and we are so happy we did! The staff were kind and welcoming (especially JP, our server). We had the falafel bowls, and they were delicious, hearty, and healthy! Vegetarian options: We chose vegetarian meals, and they were delicious. Dietary restrictions: There seem to be many options for various types of diets. Parking: Very easy to park just outside the restaurant.
We visited here years ago when passing through with family who regularly dined here. It was so good that twenty plus years later, we were back - and yes, we should have made it sooner. Good, no, great food! At resonable prices. Our server was excellent and attentive. The ambiance was very good for what is actually a really busy place with a lot going on. As for the food, well, the Chicken Burrito was really good. But dont get the large order, unless you are really, really hungry, or going to split it with your company. Its actually two chicken burritos, but fabulous value for the quality and quantity. Well be back much sooner next time!
Stayed in Courtney for a hockey tourney and had a mix up with our pickup order. Called the restaurant to ask what could be done and the staff on the other end of phone was professional and understanding. They noted my cell number and the manager and owner both reached out to apologize and refund me. Absolutely fantastic customer service and we will be eating at Atlas the next time we pass thru Courtney.
According to the locals Atlas Cafe is of the two best restaurants in the Comox valley. The Burgers are incredible, the service was great but the salad wasnt fantastic (not unusual for canada). Ill certainly be back.
The best reasonably priced resto in Courtenay, I think. Many thanks to our server on Tuesday night for her sense of humour and kindness to my Dad and me. (I could eat one of the pulled pork tacos every day for a year and still want more!)
The BEST crème bule in BC! X 2 Give Jonathan a raise! Food : 5/5
Great breakfast choice in Courtenay. Highly recommend the tequila Caesar!
I had a Black and Blue Burger there. I love these; its a burger with vegies and a blue cheese dressing. I have eaten them all over North America. I believe that this one was the best. By far. My companions all loved their meals as well. Keep up the great work- Ill be back!
This place is always a dependable 5 stars.
Food was delicious
Atlas is a Courtenay staple. Food has always been fantastic & service has always been fast & friendly Parking: Downtown Courtenay is very busy & sometimes its difficult to find a nearby place to park
Atlas is one of my top restaurant choices in the COMOX Valley. As someone who has grown up here, this restaurant and its owners have offered amazing food at reasonable prices not to mention the fact that they give back to all of our local charities. I feel so lucky to have them in our community.
I have worked a block away from the Atlas for over 2 decades. When ever we get customers asking for a place to go eat Atlas Cafe is always mentioned to them. We are fortunate to have many good places to eat downtown Courtenay... I have never ever had a person come back to me with anything other then a great experience from the Atlas. I have never had anything other then a great experience at the Atlas myself. The food and service for over 2 decades has been excellent and consistent. There is a wide variety of choice to cater to just about any food tenancy in an easy comfortable atmosphere. If you are in the local area and are looking for food options you can not go wrong here... sometimes you have to wait to get in there is a reason for that.
Had the seared tuna salad with miso dressing and it was delicious! The tuna was very fresh and perfectly seasoned, and the portion was perfect. Will definitely be going back go try the brunch sometime.
Place came highly recommended and didn t disappoint! Chowder and smoked salmon nori rolls were great! The large baked burritos are beasts. I m a 6 3, 250 pound lumberjack and the large burrito was more than enough food, though the side serving of guacamole was tiny and not worth it and the side Caesar salad was your standard run of the mill. Rest of the table went in on the Ahi tuna in the Buddha bowl, tacos, and salad and they were all great. Very impressed and will be our go to place in after having in-laws move to comox. Additional bonus this place is amazing for GF/DF choices. Dietary restrictions: Abundant Gluten free and dairy free options.
Staff were welcoming, knowledable and friendly. Food was very flavorful and delicious. Defiently recommend.
I always liked eating at the Atlas Cafe and my favorite dish is the baked burritos with Guacamole added. The staff are always super friendly and hard working. A perfect place for dinner and I always has had a nice positive dinning experience,
Definitely a go to place service and food were amazing
One of the best in the Comox Valley. My gnocchi was superb as was the venison carpaccio. Excellent service, though I felt just a bit rushed to get out by the 90 minute mark. It was Valentines Day though. Overall a pleasant experience.
Excellent food and great service! We ll be back for sure!
Such good food. Great service. Best seafood chowder I have ever had!
As a longtime fan of the Atlas Cafe, it was a pleasure to eat there recently and have excellent service and a very delicious meal. Thank you once again Atlas Cafe. Vegetarian options: The enchilada is to die for! There are also many other vegetarian options, that are all very delicious! Kid-friendliness: We brought the kids to dinner this time and they loved their dinner! Plenty of choices and good value.
We enjoyed the Salmon Panzanella Salad and the Burger. Even ordered an extra serve of the Manila Clams for a second course because they sounded delicious! Great cocktails and service was attentive.
I eat here regularly. Easily the best place Ive eaten in the Valley. Wonderful staff, wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere!
Nice spot in oldtown Courtenay. Veggie burger excellent! Staff attentive and friendly. Vegetarian options: Fabulous homemade veggie patty and fresh well made green salad with lots of veggies; not like many others that use lettuce or kale as mainstay. This side salad had attitude! Parking: Busy location
Good food. Reasonable prices.
Top shelf came to hit the casino looked for a place for lunch and found Atlas. Local sea fare the seafood chowder is top shelf. All local within 50kms. Best I ever had and Im a chowder head.
Great local dishes that are prepared and presented very well.
The Angela Burger might be the best burger Ive ever had!
Fantastic food in a warm and comfortable environment.
Superb food with good selection. Reasonably priced for the quality of cuisine.
Need to shout to talk to each other because of the background noise, so busy and so many people. But energetic positive atmosphere. If you are looking for a good restaurant, its good. But if you are looking for a calm place for conversation, dont want to recommend. Food and service everything was good.
Excellent service and food.
One of our favourite places to eat in the valley. The cocktails are fantastic, lots of options for vegan & gluten-free and the service is fantastic. Great patio too.
Great 9th Anniversary Celebration lunch.
Loved the ambient lighting and service. Loved the way it was all a neat and clean experience.
Theyve opened up the patio in the back. Great place, wonderful atmosphere.
The food was outstanding, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We ordered takeout, but the energy inside when picking up was very inviting. From the outside in, the dining area looked cozy and inviting as well. Ordered the Pulled Pork Burger and Caesar Salad for myself. Burger was mouth watering. On a soft pretzel bun slathered in a house made mayo, sits a hearty portion of perfectly cooked and seasoned pulled pork topped with a bed of exquisitely balanced Kimchi slaw. You will definitely be back for more. Side Caesar salad was well portioned with a crisp and fresh romaine lettuce paired with a creamy Caesar dressing and parmesian cheese sprinkled on to bring it all together. It was a nice flavor contrast to the Burger. Highly recommended, I will be back! Parking: There is some street parking in the front and a decent lot just up the road. Kid-friendliness: Im not sure. No kids there to assess their friendliness at the time of my visit. I suppose there is always a chance that some some jerk kids could find their way inside, but thats just the risk you have to take for food this good! Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel on!
Vegetarian options: Oh.my.goodnes. Im picky so I was scared but it came reccomended, and I was not disappointed! I have been telling everyone to go. Fast, friendly, and yes the food is worth 5 stars. I would have liked more beverage options but hey.
Great meals there everytime.
I literally locked the plate the food was so good. Thank you!
Yum! Atlas, you never disappoint...
Excellent food, top notch service. It had been over a decade since I last ate there, but it was as good as I remembered it. Kid-friendliness: Colouring sheets are always awesome!
Love the food
Brunch is always incredible ! Never disappoints. This is a must when you come to Courtney!!
The Angela burger SOUNDS weird but oh my is it so good, I recommend anyone try it out if your feeling adventurous! Plus the non-alcoholic mixed drinks are stellar.
I used to eat here quite often, and I used to really enjoy the food. It was always so fresh, and the flavours where well developed, balanced, and rich. Unfortunately, over the last year or so its gone down hill, and I dont know if chefs changed or management, or what, but I wont be back. I was VERY sorely disappointed. The food seemed to have a synthetic, pre-made, out of a package taste, and like there was something missing from each dish. For the price it was absolutely NOT worth it. I am sorry to say that I wont be back because it really did used to be my favourite little go to place! A shame to see such a long standing restaurant and cafe go down hill.
Awesome seafood chowder, great drinks menu, and friendly service.
4.5 excellent food, ambiance, and prompt staff. Top notch Dietary restrictions: Dairy free without issue! Unfortunately dairy in the Benny
We had excellent service! They accommodated dietary restrictions easily, our waiter was super friendly, and the curry vegetable soup was fantastic. Ill return the next time Im in Courtenay.
Cozy but busy, a tribute to their success no doubt. We met a local who has been coming regularly for over 10 years. Food is delicious, even the childrens menus were a delight. Very family friendly. Kid-friendliness: Full and delightful kids menu. Staff very child friendly.
Had a special dinner with my mom, lovely atmosphere and delicious food
Very good food and great service.
Really glad we stopped in here on a recent trip to the Comox valley! Delicious dinner, drinks and excellent service. Thank you to the bartender who even wrote us a list of recommendations for places to visit on our trip! :)
Dazzling menu full of fresh and delicious choices
Its ok. Not as good as was recommended. Parking: it Food : 2/5 |
Food is amazing!!!!
Great food. Great service. Pleasant atmosphere.
Good food and super friendly stuff
Really good food and friendly folks
Food was so freaking good. My Fiance had the beef neck Ragu and he said its the best pasta hes ever had and the Belgium Chocolate cheesecake was to die for. David our server was great. Would highly recommend this place for a flavourful adventure!
Been here a few times and the food is always delicious! Wait times are not bad for how busy the place is
I had a fantastic experience at the Atlas Cafe when I went there for a friends birthday dinner. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere was comfortable. I couldnt have been happier with the delicious food, especially the Togarashi Tuna Salad - the ahi tuna filet, spiralized daikon, mixed greens, edamame beans, red peppers, pickled ginger, and miso tahini dressing were a perfect blend of flavors. I highly recommend giving it a try!
We loved it! Courtney, was very knowledgeable! She gave excellent service, thank you!!
Its a great spot for happy hour 2:30 to 5:30. Special appetizers and drinks daily. The squid was absolutely delicious! The Garlic Brie on focassia was very flavourful.
Delicious. My only regret is being too full for dessert!
Only 4 stars for the food, but thats purely because it would be great to see more plant based options. Otherwise great!
Went here for supper, plenty of room, server was professional but friendly. Putanesca wasnt the best Ive had but we were happy.
Delicious food and great service
new to town and was told atlas is the place to go so went out for lunch on nov 29..drove around the restaurant twice looking for a parking spot and the only few avaliable were taken up by people with shopping carts full of stuff. didnt think it was a safe place to leave my vehicle so went to the blackfin in comox..excellent choice
I enjoy the food here. One of the better places to have dinner in the Valley. Staff have been exceptional when I have been there. I watched a table of Karens get killed with kindness by staff and it was amazing watching them handle it.
Worth a visit. Varied menu
Delicious food, great staff
We absolutely love Atlas. It is our go to restaurant. The food is always consistently awesome, the staff are great, the owner is so lovely. If you order take out they pay so much attention to detail. My husband is celiac and this is the only restaurant in the Valley that we trust. He has never been sick eating from their restaurant. The atmosphere is great, the drinks are great, the brunch is even better.
Stopped in for lunch, and the food was excellent. The Tuna tacos were some on the best I have ever had.
Worthy of a special trip for good food.
Great food and service!
The food was delicious, but we were not impressed with the service. We came for a late lunch at 2pm and sat for over 20 minutes without any one coming by. The hostess sat us in the section to the right of the door, one of 4 tables. We were in a corner table for 2, next to a middle table of 4. The other 2 corners of the section had 2 other tables of 2. We watched the wait staff go back and forth between those 3 tables several times during those 20+ minutes, and she glanced at our table multiple times, but did not come over to introduce herself until 20+ minutes later. She apologized and apparently didnt see you guys in corner. I find that hard to believe because its a pretty open concept room and she had to walk right past us to even get into that section. Not to mention to walk out of the section shed have to turn around and be facing the exit, which we were seated right beside. I guess our dark hair, must have camouflaged us against the table, chair, and wall. The military could learn from us.
Incredible fusion and choices.fantastic service
Long time valley establishment. A go to place for locals. Always a good experience.
Good food. Great Service. Very accommodating.
Great food, great service and great atmosphere! I highly recommend the Atlas Bowl (breakfast).
Bit expensive but good lunch.
Great food. Great service. Our party of 4 had a variety of dishes. Burgers, bowls and enchiladas. All were good. The place was full but the food came in a reasonable time. I had a southwest bowl with pulled pork which was really good. It s a popular place so go before or after the dinner rush to avoid waiting.
Good service and great food.
Good breakfast a little pricey and crowded
My poached egg yolks were cold and runny when I ordered medium ughh The other 3 people at the table had perfect eggs that they ordered, hmmm 3 out of 4
Great food, service, and environment. Loved thos place and when we come back for MusicFest well hit this place again.
Great food, great staff, no reservations but its worth the wait!!!
Good vegan options and nice atmosphere. Nothing that blows your mind, but the food is solid. I got the veggie burger with miso side salad (4.5/5) and I found the burger bun to be perfectly toasted, which to me is the crucial part of a good burger. The burger patty was reminiscent of falafel, though it was still quite tasty and wasnt mushy at all. The side salad was pretty good too as the miso dressing was flavourful and there was a good amount of dressing, something which I personally prefer.
Only have eaten a few bites from other friends orders but it was delicious none the less
What can I say that hasnt already been said about Atlas? Been coming here for years and the food NEVER disappoints. Ive always enjoyed each dish, from tuna tacos to burritos to pastas!
In Courtenay for a memorial service for my Mom. She loved this restaurant. We chose it for the gluten free option due to my daughters recent celiac diagnosis. All of our meals were great, service excellent. Now I get why Mom liked it so much. We will be back next time we re in town.
We had an amazing dinner of Latin foods. I ate the extras the next day and they were so good.
Best food in Courtenay - very innovative chefs!
Great menu, very peaceful ambient spot to enjoy a fantastic meal. The covered and heated patio in the island rain was delightful. Atlas fish tacos were amazing for my celiac tummy
Soggy potatoes with skin on and Luke warm.Breakfast served til 12 noon and that doesn t work for me. Hoped to have lunch! Ham was very thinly sliced and very small amount. There was a lot of hype about this place but I don t see it. Too restricted menu, very unusual. Cannot recommend this place. Bread is focus and not buttered and had to ask for jam.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service!
Atlas Cafe is by far our top pick for breakfast in Courtenay. We go at least once a month and our food and service is consistently friendly and excellent. Favourites for us are their Bennys or Breakfast Bowls.
Yummy food, especially the fish tacos! Lovely patio set up as well. Service was fast and friendly.
We got here just before the crowd and was able to get a table in an impressively engineered and earthquake proof patio. The food was good and hit the spot. But because the server did not get one of our orders correctly, we did not have a complete order to start. We would have gladly come back for breakfast the next day, but they were closed.
Well-made food and drinks, worth the trip up to Courtenay just to dine here. I enjoyed the Angela Burger for lunch. The menu had so many options that sounded good it was difficult to make a choice. Kid-friendliness: Several great options on the Kids menu
The four of us all had delicious meals and service here. The menu items include high-class foods, yet they are also reasonably priced. We ate outside in the back under a window surrounded by plants. Our server had a unique and friendly attitude. She called us teammates . Would 10/10 recommend this place.
This place came recommended by a friend. It is a quaint little restaurant that is compliant with Covid protocols. I felt very comfortable and safe coming here. Service is top notch. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable of the food that is available. The food is excellent. Very tasty, well presented. It did take a little while to get our food but they were very busy. Customers were waiting to get in, it is that popular. Like many restaurants, they are working hard to get staffing levels up so those that are there are working very very hard and I applaud them for their services. I definitely recommend this place to everyone. Edit July 16 2022, came back again and not disappointed. Had the pork sandwich. Service great, food very good. Glad I came back.
If you have not had dinner here, you are missing out on some amazingly local created meals. The seared tuna is OMG. The Angela burger is first class, the combination of Brie and pear is fantastic. Our server, Nicole, was amazing. Off you want a relaxing take your time meal... Atlas is the place. Will be back.
Vegetarian options: Very tasty!
Had breakfast there two days in a row during VI Music Fest and both meals were outstanding. Lovely cuppa too!
One of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat in the valley. Food is always amazing, patio is perfectly secluded and service is top notch. The menu is also very diverse with a lovely drink selection. Highly recommend dining here wish I could give them more than 5 stars!
Had the brisket tacos and Mediterranean platter.
drinks are awesome, food is always delicious. The Atlas cafe is mine and my family s all time favourite restaurant.
My absolute favorite restaurant in all of Canada. Perfection in every dish. Rotating specials and desserts. Extremely professional staff! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options and vegan and vegetarian options!!
This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes and beautiful presentation. I recommend to everyone! We would like to come back here again and again, specially because the waiter William, in addition to being friendly, gave us the best recommendations. We ate dishes that we would not nave ordered without his recommendations. Also it is kids friendly, the kids menu is well varied.
Excellent food, everything on the menu is worth trying.
Excellent food.
Fantastic Food, Beautiful Cocktails, Wonderful staff, Serene patio & Amazing Menu choices, always an awesome experience here, highly recommend!
Walked into ask for seating for 9. We were told it would be 25 minutes and they would phone us. When they called and seen we were 4 kids and 5 adults they said they wouldn t take large parties of 9. We said we would be happy to split in two tables. They still wouldn t take us. We asked why they made us wait 25 minutes to tell us, the manager blamed it on the new server . No apology was offered for the wait or the misinformation. Would never recommend a place that treats their customers this way.
After asking about a table for 5 adults and 4 kids, leaving a phone number and promised a call back with a table in 25 min, the manager seemed to change his mind when he got a look at us. We could see through the windows there was ample space and no other guests waiting to be seated. The only conclusion I can draw is that they dont want to serve kids. Would have been nice to know this info up front rather than those little ones waiting around for nothing.
They brought a table and chairs outside for us so we could have Hunter with us
The food and service was excellent I really recommend to go there and try it out.
Tasty breakfast options!
Amazing delicious breakfast dishes! Always busy but worth the wait.
Super pleasant staff, excellent service, excellent food with many choices whether vegetarian or not, some vegan options. Large portions.
Food and service were excellent. Waited about 20 min to be seated with a party of 6 on a Sunday, so that seems reasonable. Portions were good, not super huge but definitely felt full afterwards. I got the vegan brunch and it was super tasty. Clean and welcoming space, and service was thoughtful. Will definitely be back next time Im up island!
Blueberry margaritas and vegetarian quesodilla to keep me good for the day! Huge thank you to dawn foe amazing service.
We had a wonderful breakfast. The food is impressive and the service was just as good. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent food and service. John Paul was a fantastic server :)
Above average Eggs Benedict: local ham, mushrooms, and spinach.
Was a recommendation to us and we were unsure but willing to try new things. We ordered their steak for dinner and was not disappointed. The steak was a good size not some small thing posing as an 8oz. And the flavors were amazing!!! The portions were a good size as well. Would most definitely recommend Atlas to all. I would say this was one of the most amazing experiences I have had in a restaurant!
Its been better ..and its been 3 years.
Great food, service, price. Relaxing with top notch food.
Great breakfast
Wow! We had the vegan enchiladas absolutely delicious and so flavorful! Please please check this place out if you re vegan you won t be disappointed especially with the enchiladas! Please offer and make more vegan food because you guys are so good at it!
Great food and service
Always a favorite restaurant to enjoy in the valley! Everything Ive ever had has been delicious!!
Great place,great food,nice people
Great breakfast on a Sunday afternoon. Generous portions very tasty
Never been before but will definitely go again! The salad I had was scrumptious!
We have had many eats at Atlas over the years, and the food and service is consistently good. However our most recent visit was very disappointing. Our server greeted us, and told us the specials, then walked away without offering us beverages. We asked questions about portion sizes etc, and her answers were vague. Our main course was delivered before our starter was finished(which wasn t a huge deal) Except that she took my partner s fork off the starter and put it on the mains plate. No quality check on our starter, Again no quality check on our mains either. The table service was very poor, and honestly the food was sub par. The greens in the salad were soggy, the tuna was bland and fishy. When she finally returned to clear our plates, we got a blunt do you want anything else Pretty sure a dessert and coffee menu usually follows. Unsatisfied we asked for the bill, and left the restaurant feeling disappointed with our experience.
Great service, yummy food. Spicy ahi tuna was superb
Service was bad food was not very quality and the hours of operations were inconvenient
Ate here 19 years ago.... it was good then and even more amazing now. Amazing food. Excellent service. Polite and respectful staff. Its been 19 years, but visiting here yesterday has inspired my wife and I to drive up from Parksville for a lunch or dinner date much more often. Thank you!
