My partner and I went to dinner at Kelly s and our experience was mediocre at best. We start out getting sat at our table. It was pretty quiet inside, our server got to our table pretty fast which was nice but, we weren t met with an introduction or a greeting, she just grabbed our drink & food order then left. We saw her only once more at the end of eating. No checkups through table service or more drinks. Finally we r met with the bill and noticed she had charged us for 2 extreme pachos and 2 life saver drinks, when we ordered the 1 plate to share knowing how expensive it was. when we brought it to her attention she didn t take accountability for the mistake and didn t make the effort to correct it. Sadly it turned a 50$ dinner to a 80$ dinner. We were very dissapointed

Was sat down, not asked for drinks and left sitting waiting for 15-20 minutes without any acknowledgement. Ended up leaving. Lol nice service guys

I took a friend here for her birthday lunch the end of March. We have enjoyed this place many times in the past. But the service was not as good this visit. We got seated in a rather awkward location , had to wait for the server many times , and it was not even busy in there. 3 weeks later I get my visa statement only to see that I was charged twice , same amount at the exact date and time. Visa told me I had to call them and explain what happened. I talked to the owner/manager Shawn and he was not willing to take my info or even look into this error. He said ya , you were probably charged twice , I believe you but visa will have to call me first. It doesnt work like that. Either you show willingness to look into the error your restaurant made or it has to now be disbuted through visa. As a business owner myself , I have in the past had to look for transaction slips to check things and that is what we do to keep our customers happy. Your unwillingness to even make 1 step forward has cost you a customer as well as a bad review. You could have done better. Try harder.

Definately not like the Nanaimo location. Service was minimal if any. Missed appie deals as no one came after seating us for 10 min. Server never came to ask how food was till we were almost done so had to eat my untoasted burger even though she said she would add to order to toast it. Her tip reflected her service as we sat with dirty plates for near 15 minutes. Wont be back.

Yummy waffle-cut fries and their chicken lips (soft juicy chicken strips with a milk/spice batter) are delicious.

We came to sit on the patio and enjoy the sun, it was awfully quiet as we were only one of two couples out there. We asked if they could turn the radio on and were told it wasn t working but they were trying to get it fixed. Went for a friends birthday and met the owner, a really nice gentleman. Had some drinks with us and was very friendly. Great, and I mean fantastic value for our dollar. Update - spent girls night out here and had a situation where a guy wouldnt leave us alone. Owner and staff helped us out immediately and made us feel very safe.

Way too long a wait time to get service, especially when there appeared to be lots of staff and not many patrons. People after us received food. Atmosphere seemed ok. Paid for the drink and left after waiting over 1/2 hour just to place a food order. Too bad.

We went for lunch today, my husband s meal was fine, he ordered the Philly style beef dip and the Caesar salad. It came to the table as described on the menu. My meal however was not delivered to me as described on the menu. I ordered a crispy buffalo chicken sandwich, the description on the menu said. Hand breaded crispy chicken breast tossed in Buffalo sauce I did not get a hand breaded crispy chicken breast, I got a soggy Buffalo sauce drenched chicken cutlet. It was gross. Had I not been so hungry and my puppy waiting in the car I would have sent it back. Definitely not worth the price, Also the service was awful, I will not return.

Fun bar/reasturant vibe. Big big big drink menu. Large food menu , happy hour is a good deal. Bit on the more expensive side but the foods great. Try the prime rib yorkies appy. Lamp burger is also deadly. Kids menu is ok bit lacking. Nice and clean inside and out. I went here several times when it first opens. Nothing special. Nothing to attract yih back. Typical, boring, corporate atmosphere. Kinda anti-social. Service is ok, but the place lacks personality and there is nothing special about it.

I have been three times. I had the Yorkie appetizer the first time and it was fantastic. So, on my birthday, that s where I chose to go. I had the same thing again, and it was good, and my husband enjoyed it as well. So tonight, he wanted to go again. All I can say about tonight is that the service was excellent. However, if I had had THAT appy the first night I was there, I would never have ordered it again. Tonight the yorkshire appie was crisp! Way too crisp. Hard to cut crisp. Almost burnt tasting crisp. The quality control tonight slipped.

Magnificent , everything I have had the pleasure of ordering here has been top notch! with quality ingredients. Amazing service from staff and a very comfortable atmosphere. I will definitely revisit. I highly recommend their Tuna Power Bowl , and their Irish Onion Soup!

I absolutely love this pub. Ive gone countless times and have always had nothing but enjoyable experiences and been left with great memories. Definitely recommend

Steak, Prime-rib, Burgers, and quite a few Vegan choices; all-in-all a modern choice to eat Pub-Grub with the flare of a Highland Kilt. The four of us ordered a Prime-rib, Fish and Chips, Creole Blackened Steak, and a Prosciutto wrapped Chicken Breast dinner, with local tapped beers to quench our thirst. All meals had no complaints for quality, portion size or cooking flaws. We were so hungry from our day that we all forgot to memorialize the meal with photos and smiles. If there was a complaint, it might be reflected with today s economy, Not affordable enough to return sooner than later. The fanchise has a bithday special that is notable and can get up to $30 off your meal, so that might be the time we return, but otherwise it might fade into a memory of good times, good food and a good game of billards!

$22 for a Bacon cheese burger better be the best damn Bacon cheese burger ever.. And it was!! And those lattice fries Ill be back

Its always a nice place for dinner and a catch-up while visiting family in the Comox Valley. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Vegetarian options: There arent a ton of vegetarian options available, but those on offer are very good. Wheelchair accessibility: Two level entrances are available.

The burgers are great. The steaks are good and the prime rib specifically is incredibly juicy and tender. Unless its packed, the service is very quick. Good place to bring the kids as well as a good place to come drink later at night.

We had a group of 16l5 on a Saturday night. Not only was the food delicious, but out drinks stayed full, and our server was amazing. I will definitely recommend to anyone doing a group or even a small group. We will be back! Food : 5/5

Terrible wait time to get tea, food and service, specially when there no one in the restaurant! Sitting on the patio, we saw people come after us. They were served first. It s huge no no. We told the waitress we were in a hurry. We waited for almost 40 minutes to get our food. The experience was simply awful! We will not b coming back.

Kids in the car after a hot day. All they want is PESTO NOODLES . Does any pizza pasta place in town have that? No. But Sara at O Bryans hooked us up and ice cream sundaes for dessert. Best family restaurant in town!

Their burgers are pretty good, but Im not a fan of their fries. I take the onion rings instead. Their butter chicken curry is also pretty tasty. The place is well kept and clean.

I absolutely love this restaurant, great staff, very space, Amazing food, though more expensive than most others its a good stop if you dont mind spending a little more.

Fun and creative atmosphere love the quotes on the wall and the many TVs. Great place to watch a sporting event. The quesadillas were not very Mexican inspired, however the dry ribs were all right and I was told by my dining companions the burgers were amazing though I will have to go back to verify.

Despite the gimmicky theme, the food really is good. If youre craving meat, the Irish stew is great quality. If youre craving veggies, the portobello burger is excellent. And of course theres an extensive drink menu :) Vegetarian options: Portobello burger FTW

Was told they offered a free meal on your birthday, and that checks out. Pretty generous promotion. Kudos to them for doing that. Way better than most other places that force you to convince friends/ family to go in order to meet a quota. Got a portabella burger with salad that were both great in taste and presentation. Also, oddly, really fast. Server was pleasant and helpful. Overall atmosphere was clean, welcoming, and had that iconic look. Vegetarian options: Fair options for vegetarians given its a bar setting. Portabella burger, fajitas, bowls, salads, etc. Parking: Might be challenging finding a spot when its busy, but seemed like a reasonable wrap-around style layout.

An uninspiring, supposedly Irish pub. Staff were friendly, food wasnt great and is rather overpriced for what it is.

Stopped in on way up island, figured it would be a good choice. We were very hungry. We ordered 4 appetizers. Literally the most rubbery calamari ever been served. The stuffed mushrooms werent much better. Both my wife and I agreed as we turned left on cliff northbound that when we passed the a&w that a burger there would have been better. We were charged $66 for food that I wouldnt serve a guest.i asked for more drinks several times, nothing. If you are in the same situation, looking for good food on route, consider somewhere else.

Great Service and Food

Went for a going away get together for the boyfriends co-worker. The place was not busy at all but our server was extremely slow. At our table we only had drinks and an order of deep fried pickles. After waiting almost 20 minutes I had to ask when the pickles were coming. I guarantee she didnt even put them into the system until I reminded her. Its close to my place but there are definitely better options to be had.

Angelica is the best server, she gave me tums when I had heart burn.

Ordered chicken lips, didn t show up . Reminded the waitress that I ordered them . Than was addressed to the kitchen to make for me which was great. Chicken lips come out to the table 5 mins later . Half cooked , charged on the bill. Wonderful experience

Felt uncomfortable being there with servers with skirts so short you could see underwear. Not what I want to see when I go out. Also, hair should be tied up so does not fall out in food which I see people have complained about lots. Food was not that great. Will not be back.

My wife and I stopped for lunch today. Huge disappointment!!! My wife ordered mushroom caps. The quality was fine but not the quantity. In the past they came with half a slice of bread. Not this time. We were told by the server after the meal there is now an extra fee for the bread. Damned ridiculous! Definitely wont be back. I had a Ceasar salad. Quality but no quantity. A total of three croutons. Smarten up!!!

Menu states fresh chicken. The fajita came and the chicken was reheated. Waitress explained that fresh chicken means their chicken is never frozen. It would be impossible to put raw chicken in the fajita and then expect it to becooked enough with the process of making a fajita. Hmmmm, not sure what she was trying to explain but fresh chicken should be fresh cooked. Not cooked earlier and then reheated. Not why I go out to eat. Theyvreplaced it with a fresh cooked burger which was good.

Not very clean - sticky menus and table. I ordered a tuna salad; the tuna was cut too thick and the salad was drowned in sauce. Very dark and grungy in there....

After hearing Alessandro s experience at this establishment I can t help but be outraged at the treatment and handling of his assault. If someone is hate crimes in front of your restaurant you shouldn t block them!! Will never be going here.

Very disappointed to hear about a discriminatory act of violence that has taken place at this establishment. Staff took no action to aid the young man & instead laughed & videotaped on cell phones. Wasn t a favourite spot to go with my family anyhow, but we definitely won t be giving it a second chance now.

Decent food good beers on tap and good service

This pub has clearly shown it s not a safe space for queer people to present or be themselves. When an assault happens at your bar, you deal with it by making sure the victim is supported (giving them footage of the incident), you don t turn them away.

Not good. Me and my partner ordered the Guinness burger with Cesar salad as the side, pachos for two, the chicken dumplings, and the yorkies with prime rib. All of the food was cold, the bun for the burger was stale and rock hard in some places, they charged us but forgot to give us the Cesar salad, the cheese on the pachos was cold and not melted still in its shredded form. The prime rib was nothing to write home about and the dip that was provided with it wasn t good. We spent 80$ on food that was absolute garbage. It s extremely overpriced for what it is and what you get. I can t believe we paid 30$ for a burger that was cold and stale with no side. NEVER ordering from here again.

Take it from a bystander who was there. I am not affiliated with this bar other than being present as a customer. In regards to the friends and fans who are now slandering this bar The treatment of a patron who was not unjustified by staff. No shoes, no shirt, no service, it doesnt have anything to do with the bar staff other than kicking out a half naked person who refused to clothe themselves as per policy, then said person getting aggressive. ESPECIALLY when when a patron is trying to get physical with other patrons and staff and dangerous to public safety, so they get kicked out and try to cause a fight and get punched by some RANDOM drunk person who they themselves, were physically assaulting then they go to media and try to claim victim to get social media followings and money, and slander a good name of a bar to get their way. Kelly obryans staff treated everyone within reason, and assisted police in trying to find the people who escalated the situation. Learn all sides of a story before you post hate speech and dont hop on band wagons, it doesnt have anything to do with the bar staff other than kicking out a half naked person who refused to cloth themselves as per policy, then said person getting aggressive. To top it off. Good food. Good service. Ive only ever seen people treated equally here, would recommend going. This is a sincere UNBIASED post.

Food and service was great.

My 2 friends and I visited the restaurant and I was quite disappointed in my lunch. I ordered the soup and sandwich special at a reasonable price however when I asked what choice of bread I was told only white unless I wanted to pay an additional $2.25 to have it on focaccia bread. The broccoli bacon soup was very bland and there was a piece of grissel in it. Our server never asked how our food was. She also did not pick up any of the dirty plates when she asked if we wanted our bill. We had to ask for salt, pepper and napkins. My friends chicken lips and fries was just ok. I certainly won t be returning or recommending until things change. What kind of restaurant doesn t have whole wheat bread for a sandwich???

Come to kellys for warmed ahead of time, steamed to order steak! Not even any grill marks and they said this is how its always cooked which wasnt the truth because Ive ordered previously and it was great. If this is how its cooked going forward theyve lost my business.

I was very disappointed with my meal, especially considering the price. I didnt say anything as we were with friends celebrating their anniversary and I didnt want to spoil their celebration. The Margherita flatbread was very good...crisp and good melty cheese. The calamari was okay. My husbands prime rib Yorkies were good according to him but I found the yorkshire puddings chewy....as if they had been made some time ago and reheated (?microwave). My quesadillas were forgettable. Barely any filling. the lattice fries were barely warm and limp and chewy, certainly not hot and crisp. All in all, a disappointing experience that Im not sure I want to repeat. It was not a busy evening.

On Dec 9 my sister , mother & I were there , as it was my birthday and my moms 92nd birthday the day before we both got $20. Off our meal . The food was delicious and our server Cherry was friendly . We will be back next time Im in Courtenay as I live in Alberta

Food was delicious. Server was fantastic

Went here with my wife. Food was great, service was good, but $13.00 for two small cups of coffee. Did not realize it until I had to pay.

Pub style food. They have a happy hour starting at 2pm. They have a very large beverage selection of beers, craft cocktails and tons of shooters. Crowd is not too loud or rowdy. Maybe before but with covid its been a bit of a quieter place. They have a pub side and dining side however they are basically the same thing just less tvs. And kids are allowed on the dinning side.

Good food, friendly staff
