Old House Restaurant in Courtenay

$60-70 per person, not $20-30 as Google says. Wait over one hour. Not cool.

There is only one restaurant here, google maps makes you think there is two. Locals Restaurant is the same as Old House Restaurant. This is misleading. The price mentioned on google maps is not accurate. I will also post this on the other google maps point. Waited 80 minutes for service, food only arrived as I was thinking about leaving. Bread and butter is $6 for grocery store bread. This is not fine dining. For your meals, expect a small pretty meal that looks nice. They gave us the wrong bill, it was for someone who dined and dashed and it was 120 for that person alone, it was corrected after we said it was not our bill. Our final price was $160 for 3 people. This is for 3 dishes. You should expect more if you are getting drinks and appetizers.

It’s the same place as “local” that has a separate Google page. So this is misleading, especially when it says $20-30 per person, while it is actually around $50 for an entree. Waited for over an hour. Food overpriced.

Loved our lunch here ! We sat outside beautiful area well kept. Food was delicious, fresh and flavourful. They are staffed well amazing service.

What a great spot! The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. My only regret is not having any room for dessert!

What a lovely treat to find this place. The location was perfect and the decor inside was warm and cozy. I am a celiac and there was SO many amazing food choices (that weren't just salad) for anyone who is allergic to gluten/wheat. Everyone's food look so good and every plate went back to the kitchen empty. Looking forward to going back and trying the rest of the menu

It was a great dining experience. Excellent food prep and presentation, and the servers do a great job of looking after you. It's definitely not a burger and fries place.

Great ambiance. They have a wonderful patio here although it was too cold to use when we were here. Portions are down to normal eating sized instead of the super-sized they used to have. The service was good although I couldn't stir my tea without a spoon or utensils. Apart from that, it was quiet so we had relatively good service. I wonder what it is like when it's busy? The food was good. The beef dip was wonderful on french bread and my clubhouse was super. Real chicken not rolled meat. Approx. $15 a sandwich with a side.
