Great Noodle Soup served here!

Only place in the valley that serves thai basil with their pho. 9a is my go to. Really good soup!!!

I had the spicy Phoa. Very tasty. The only thing i dont like about this restaurant is they do cash only. Hmmm

The only reason I did not rate the service with 5 stars is they only take cash and you have to go to another business to get cash. I rarely carry cash and I know Im not alone.

Do not enter. Terrifying experience at this restaurant. I will never return when I pass by the area next time my worst mistake on this trip.

WORST SERVICE IVE EVER HAD!!!! Im literally sitting here in the restaurant writing this review, the only thing I actually liked about this restaurant was the atmosphere and only kind of, I havent had such bad service in ages, literally had to ask for everything, didnt get water, but watched them serve ever other customer(who came in after) water, called in to asked if they were gluten free, was told yes then find out they had two things on the menu that was safe. I had to go up to the county multiple times to ask them for things they should have brought we were not checked on at all. Im very disappointed with this place. Ive definitely had a lot better pho, on the plus side, my partner did enjoy the hot and sour. Will not go back again, Ive never had a meal out where I actually didnt want to pay for it. Obviously I did because its illegal. Not to however would not suggest this place. OHHH AND THEY ARE CASH ONLY, I WAS NOT TOLD BEFORE ORDERING, they said they told my son and my boyfriend who dont speak English before ordering, but I wasnt told, and they the owner was SO RUDE, laugh when I said they need a sign out front. DO NOT GO!!!

Have been eating here since I was a kid and its still a valley favourite. Everything is so delicious. Fast service for both takeout and dine in and their prices have always been so reasonable.

Google shows they are open Sunday and so does the hours sign in their window. Drove there from Campbell River and they were closed. Rediculous.

Excellent authentic Vietnamese food and freindly staff. My favorite dishes are the Beef Lemongrass Noodles and the Salad Rolls.

Ill be kind and give this place a 3. Its not often that I give lower ratings. They sat us at the only 2 top, which was right by the door, and immediately bussed a dirty 4 top for the couple behind us... it seemed every other couple had a tea pot when sat down, and we had to ask. I asked for extra cilantro, but apparently there is no cilantro in the building I like to taste and appreciate the broth before adding anything. This broth was very 2 dimensional. It tasted very flat.... like it was missing something... probably cilantro. Ive never had to put much hoison in my broth as I did here. I used 4 heaping spoonfuls (they use spoon dispensary rather than a squeeze tube) into my broth just to get adequate depth. It also looks like none of their condiments are made in house.... They do not carry a Chilli oil. Probably will never return.

Super friendly, thoughtful, and accommodating of my severe allergy. The only downside is cash only which left me looking for a place that did cash back. Otherwise, 10/10 Vegetarian options: Veggies, tofu Dietary restrictions: The owner very diligently made sure my meal was celiac friendly.

Ive been looking for an authentic Asian food place ever since I moved to the island a year and a half ago and Ive finally found it! I had the wonton noodle soup and my partner had the curry over rice. Both were outstanding, absolutely fresh and delicious. The broth of my soup was authentic and reminded me of my Chinese grandmothers soup, it was just like home My partners curry tasted like coconut curry, more on the sweeter side but still delicious and the portion was huge! Pricing was more than fair. Will definitely be taking the trip from Nanaimo regularly, thank you so much for the fantastic service and food.

Tried Saigon Noodle House for the first time. The pork spring rolls and Pho [rare beef] were both good. The service was good as well. The dinning area is a bit crowded and pretty basic. On the warm summer day we were there it was really hot inside without AC. For cyclists there is no bike rack lock up visible from inside. There is a rack down the sidewalk in the mall. The one complaint I have is this place is cash only. Thats okay, but there was no sign on the door letting us know so we didnt figure out we had a problem until we tried to pay. I have no problem with a cash only small business, but you have to make it clear to the customer up front. Overall the experience was good enough well go back and wed recommend it to a friend.

Pho was mediocre, broth lacked seasoning , and the beef was meh. My partner had grilled chicken , rice noodles, and spring rolls . Spring rolls were good, but the chicken was horrible (obviously previously frozen ) had a freezer burnt taste. We will not be back .

The food is mediocre. Service was mediocre. Atmosphere was mediocre. I think what I have an extreme issue with is this business chooses to be cash only which is fine, but there needs to be a proper sign towards the store front or on the menu or even the servers need to advise their guest, and they need to be able to provide a legal receipt which they do not Not sure how they continue to get away with this in 2023 Too many other food options here and Courtenay Comox area to ever come back don t waste your time

I usually enjoy eating here, there a few items on the menu that I will get over and over again. Tonight I was really craving wonton soup so I thought Id try it. Definitely will NOT order again. On the menu it does say wonton with noodles, but what I got was basically a package of Ramen, with two, ONLY two wontons in the bowl and some half pieces of bologna... no veggies. Not at all what I was craving or expecting. If you want a good wonton soup, dont order it from here.

I live in Alberta now for 10 year but grew up on the island. I m laying in bed at 8:30am and dreaming of an A2 from Saigon at the moment. If you don t like this place, I don t like you. 5starz fo life!

This is a cash only restaurant..though if you dont have cash, theres a gas station nearby with ATM.

Yesterday was my birthday so wanting to celebrate I decide to order out, choosing Saigon, remembering its good and tasty food. Phoned. When I got in the restaurant, I asked for additional Salad Rolls. No problem. Paid. Tipped. Rushed home, 15 minutes later. No Salad rolls. Pork dish, A4, has no pork. QF from now on, I can see what I pay for.

Want fast, cheap, easy pho? This is the place. Yeah so they only do take out or only take cash? Who cares. Its a short life and i want cheap pho and this is the place to get it. I dont want an extra 2 or 3 dollars added onto my meal because they have to pay for a debit machine. This place is just as good as any other in the valley. I have been going here the last year or so and never had a problem.

Ordered food for pick up drove across the city to find out they didn t even make it. Something so simple is really tough for these folks. Never tried it never will. Garbage service.

Hands down my favourite noodle shop in Courtenay. My partner and I have been going here for almost 18 years. Order is done quickly and with the same high quality every time.

Ordered A3 off the menu. The pork tasted weird. The rice noodles were all cut down, and this is the first time EVER asking an Asian restaurant for chopsticks.. (which explains the noodles being Chopped into pieces). Ill pass on eating here again. Good prices, but too western .. WHO STILL TAKES JUST CASH... Saigon Noodle House, but no signs anywhere in the building day cash only.

Not trying to be something it isn t. Tasty Pho, rapid service, excellent pricing. The plastic fruits and vegetables on the ceiling add interesting touch of character I suppose colourful if nothing else.

Best Pho in town.

This place is consistently the best deal in town for fabulous food. Theyve really perfected the balance of flavor and texture and were never disappointed when we come here. We all enjoy the vegetarian as well as the beef and pho dishes. Unfortunately we havent been here for over a year but the staff still remembered my daughters favorite meal. The service here is invariably more polite then I ever expect. The atmosphere is bright clean and cheerful, a little quirky in true Vietnamese style.

The owners here are so nice, pho is delicious. One of our top places for a good bowl of soup. Spring rolls are great too!

Our meat was rotten. Literally green! It smelled so awful. We tried to call them to let them know so know one else would be served it but they wouldnt listen and told us not to call back. Im pretty disappointed

Dont waste your time coming here. While rest of the world operates as usual, here theyre saving the world by still doing take out only. And then accepting CASH only in this age (not mentioning its the least sanitary form of payment)? Weird and sketchy. And a rude careless staff member behind the counter on top of that. Spend your money elsewhere.

Found this place to be missing some love and care. Two stars for taking care of my hunger at the time.

Reliable, fast, flavourful and friendly service at a very reasonable price. Have been going for years and will continue to do so. I noticed a couple reviews were stating bland or flavourless food but that is why you have many options for condiments such as hoisin, chili paste and fish sauce which packs a punch! You can adjust the spice and salt levels to your choice with a variety of sauces spices and herbs. They do good work there! Actually 4.5 stars.

Excellent pho! The only explanation I can think of for the bad reviews is that those people have never been to a pho restaurant before. I found the service very friendly and prompt - albeit minimal by north american standards (as in dont expect much one-on-one attention or chit-chat with your server.) This is how I like a pho restaurant to be - come in for delicious soup, have a seat without much wait, be given a glass of water, check the menu, give my order, receive my order (relatively quickly compared to say a pub or steakhouse), enjoy a delicious meal, pay and leave. That is exactly how it went at Saigon Noodle House, even when the restaurant was very busy on a Friday evening (pretty much packed in house, plus many people coming in to pick up take-out orders.) Prices are very average for pho - $9-10 for a bowl of soup, $12-$15 for an entree. I had a beef noodle soup and it was excellent (yummy taste, good portions, solid meat to noodle ratio), served with the proper garnishes of sprouts, basil, and lime wedge. The only thing I didnt realize before eating is that it is *CASH ONLY* (no debit, no credit), but the waitress was friendly about it so it was really no issue with ATMs nearby. Im looking forward to next time :)

I had springrolls with noodles, lettuce and cucumber. My husband got soup with cold beef. My meal was fair but my hubby couldnt eat his soup. I had to go to the ATM next door to pay for the meal because they only take cash. Will not be returning.

We ordered through phone. We had a hard time hearing the person at the phone.So we tried and called again. Then suddenly the person who answered the phone started getting rude and angry at us. They are not very friendly at all. Very very bad customer service.

Prices are much higher in the restaurant than on this web site. When I asked the owner about it he claimed that this web site was not his. He said a customer much have posted it???? Sounds like a typical Bait & Switch. Other than that the food was ok.

Lots of people rave about this place as being good and cheap but your bowl is full of egg noodles worth 12 cents designed to make you think youre full. Good space for large group in tables down the centre. CASH ONLY!

Didnnt feel welcome or appreciated as a customer. They fail to be upfront about cash only until you have to pay and then tell you that bank machine is in the laundry mat (3.00 charge). Food was not up to par with quality Vietnamese fair. I would not return.
