Heard many good things about this spot. Finally had an occasion to check it out and it was really great! Would like to come back during the day to enjoy the view of the water and try some other menu items!
We had a great dining experience at The Cook and Butcher today at lunch! The host and server were both so kind to us (especially to my 2.5 year old daughter), and the ceasars and entrees were delicious. You really can’t beat the view of the harbour - watching the sealions was awesome!
I think people only come here for the view. We came with our grandma to celebrate her 90th bday and were sorrily disappointed. We ordered virgin blackberry lemonades and when the drinks came out, one had fresh blackberries while the other had frozen ones. When we tried to explain to the server that these are not the same drinks as one tastes like blackberry and one only tastes like lemonade, the waitress gave us attitude and begrudgingly took it away. After bringing this to the attention of the manager and asking for a new server so as to not ruin our event, the manager sided with the waitress in that these are the same drinks made correctly and said we cannot have a new waitress. They should microwave the frozen berries if they run out of fresh ones or not serve it. In all my years of fine dining and bartending, I assure you this would never be served. The food was lacklustre and we awkwardly ate our food as the wait staff talked about us behind our back at the bar 10 feet away. 0/10 experience. The pasta was flavourless and super oily, while the fish and chips were overcooked.
Staff was fantastic, food was even better 👍. The views were spectacular. I had the millionaire meatloaf with prawns , total winner. My wife had the 8 oz. Sirloin great meal. The drink was the coast to coast Ceasar
Excellent service, each of their dishes was delicious, the staff was very attentive and the view was wonderful. My only negative point was that their public washrooms were very dirty.
Great food with a beautiful view. Hefty portions too. I had the millionaires meatloaf and the Mrs had the chicken Katsu bowl. The chicken was a little well done but still delicious. Sorry we started eating before I got pictures. We had mason jar cocktails as well.
Overall, we had a nice meal. We had the crab dip which was nice, fish and chips, mac and cheese, chicken wings and seafood linguine. One of us had the Titan Caesar, which was enjoyed. The wings were very good. The Mac and cheese was enjoyed. The fish and chips were decent. The seafood linguine was very good. I am not able to have the cream based sauce, so I asked to have it substituted with the red sauce. It was supposed to be a roasted garlic based sauce, which is supposed to be a mellow creamy garlic flavor. Unfortunately, the garlic in my dish was burnt. I could not get over that burnt bitter taste in my mouth. Still had it an hour later. Huge portions. Service was good. View was spectacular!
After trying two other restaurants we ended up here. Great decision. Service was great, the view really nice (to the bay). Drinks were tasty and food was awesome. Seems we had found a new favourite place whenever my husband has steak craving. Wish they still had the brunch buffet they used to have several years ago. That was one of my favourites too.
The food was absolute garbage. I got the pork belly and my partner the fish and chips . I get what pork belly is , have had some really phenomenal pork belly , this was not that. It tasted of freezer or somthing weird and was just a glob of un seasoned fat. The plate was put together with no care and didnt look nice. The fish and chips were average with the french fries being sub par and soggy. We were traveling through and were so hungry we did scarf down some of the food . Couldnt finish the pork though and didnt complain and im not one to complain and never have at a restaurant but really feel like i should have said something on this occasion. The service was slow and didnt seem like anyone really cared The paint on the booths is all picked at and chipping away. I had high hopes going in as a lot of reviews were great but it did not meet expectations even close. It seemed like this place just lost its passion. Looks like it could be a great restaurant.
Food is delicious
This place had amazing service, the atmosphere was great, the views were beautiful and the food was delicious Kid-friendliness: This place was equipped for families, they had high chairs and a kids menu, and the vibes were warm
Great view especially in November watching the sealions directly behind the big window. Parking: Park deck right at restaurant.
The most amazing ceazer Ever . Food was simply Devine. We all left stuffed to the Gills. Definitely will be back.
Great restaurant for a special meal. Comfortable seating great water and marina views food is always great Parking: Parking can be hard to find on the busiest if days. Most times no issue. Wheelchair accessibility: Not sure. Restaurant on second floor but there is an elevator but never used it.
Spectacular food and ambiance! Best food Ive had in awhile.
This restaurant is overhyped, over priced, and quite pretentious. We sat on a Friday night for a birthday, I got the baseball steak, which was charred to the point of burnt, medium, and extremely chewy. Our server was almost non existent. We had to ask for cutlery, water, and any additional service outside of taking our order and dropping off the food. Our server said there was a birthday desert, but never said anything more past that, we were not given any info about a birthday desert nor were we compensated for a desert.
We thoroughly enjoyed the world famous Cook and Butcher Caesar. It was a full meal with lobster, shrimp, salmon and more. So good!
Steaks were good, one over the desired temperature. Porkchop was ok, sauce was like ocean water salty ruined the meat. Mashed potatoes could use some more love like cream cheese, definitely more butter! Kids meals were mediocre. Chicken strips were like fried pieces of cardboard they were so dry. Overall, we will give it another try someday.
Love this place! Food is delicious and lots to choose from. Some very unique dishes.
This is the 3rd time that we came here. The view is beautiful. The food is consistently great and the servers are consistently unfriendly. Because of the unfriendly service we decided that we wont be back. Food : 5/5
Great spot with a beaty of a view and the famous Caesar is worth the wait!
Service was sub par felt like I was the kid in highschool with no friends lol getting drinks took around 10 mins then power went out and didn t even get to order any food the the overall experience was horrible when power went out no one came to ask if I wanted another drink or nothing so I left the vibe felt very off and didn t feel very comfortable there
WE went here for my birthday dinner with friends.Everything and I mean everything was fantastic.Service Food Drinks View
Reliably delicious with an amazing view!
Amazing place, best Caesars in the valley
Really nice food, service is good. Atmosfere is nice., music to loud to have a conversation, Elevator was broken, very uncomfortable for elderly people. Food
Nice place with a beautiful view. The Caesars are not as amazing as advertised.
Great meal.
Good food and great location.
I thought I would give praise yet again to the lovely experiences that I have had at the beautiful restaurant right across the street. I can show up in any dress barefoot with my walking stick as a mute or otherwise in my spiritual garb. Every time the question is only table I. Ummm. They just look at me and see I would like a table à d for me as a person who for whatever reason seems to have to put up with a certain amount of discrimination and valgarity insults etc in other establishments even in my current hometown of Cowichan Bay of all places. It is a blessing to be able to not have to work to remain at peace when you are trying to pay for a service like going out to a restaurant. I wish I would have remembered recently I normally get the muchroom poutine when I order ask for substitution but I was hungry and felt so at ease and welcomed it put me to tears just to sit down and know I did not have to deal with judgement for the next little while while I was there. Even though it is against my spirit I did not at first realize it was a pork poutine which in hindsight it was my fault, but I prayed on it and am trying to forgive myself for eating the meat that did end up being consumed, but Anyway. The Thai red curry was delicious as well I ordered to go and finished it this morning. As always appreciate the service and just wish that all the restaurants and stores in the neighbourhood and region were as thoughtful and open to my cultural differences. Blessed.
Expensive place
Shore to shore Caesar was $40 and lobster tail was extremely small not at all like website photos and didnt taste like any worchestershire sauce was added, tasted bland. Husband had ribs very good but paid extra for twice baked potato. Nice thing was my birthday so we shared free piece of cheesecake.
Had the bison meatballs and Spaghettini. So delicious.
Had the Surf n surf seafood dish, absolutely superb! Beautifully presented, the white sauce was silky & smooth, the flavour leaves you wanting more The hint of Parmesan adding a beautiful, sharp & fruity tang, blending gorgeously with the sweet citrusy pop of the cherry tomatoes, mussels and sauce! Absolutely lovely! Artistic, beautiful and balanced dish! Great work chefs
We loved this place! Its well worth the wait! The food and service is simply divine. Unfortunately, the desserts werent anything special aside from their presentation. Skip dessert and grab an after dinner cocktail instead.
We always have a great experience here. We nearly always have Michelle as our waitress and shes a total 5* pro. Always on hand, always attentive, always accommodating. Thank you kitchen team for always producing delicious food and for presenting it so attentively. From being greeted by the hostess with a smile and welcoming attitude, to the service, the food and of course the incredible view. Its our go to every time we come up from Victoria. Thank you again and well be back soon.
Food was OK. Wife had buffalo meatball pasta that had both cream sauce and tomato sauce. Shed never order it again. Was a mistake made? I had seafood linguine and it was standard and good. View is great , dessert excellent, water lukewarm no ice. So kind of a mixed bag.
Great food, amazing pasta and garlic Foccacia bread!! The view is also unbeatable, I would definitely come back for this place! Parking: Before taking a left into the hotel, you can go up the street and park along the bushes. No signs and a bunch of cars parked there
It was quite a wait for food, but they were slammed and super busy. 100% worth the wait though. The braised pork belly and the potatoes might have been the best plate Ive had in years. Pork absolutely melted. I have no idea what was done to the potatoes, but they were amazing. The scallops were a strange addition to the fish, but still good.
Recently had my birthday dinner there on the 3rd and it was amazing! So sorry I didn t catch or ask any of the servers names on shift! Honestly I ve only been back once since they upgraded but my first experience and their old scallop and pork belly appetizer was so good I kept going back! I think they have it as a dinner option now so you still get a chance. We had a larger group and by the sounds of it my other half had to change our rezo numbers a couple times but they had no problem with it. It was loud but we were in peak dinner time and sat next to another large group which was no problem but we were all at one end of the restaurant so as we were all loud I feel it helped with the everyone s else experience and it was packed so you know it s good. We were ten minutes late and a few people were another ten minutes or so late but they never seemed annoyed and came to the table right away for our drink orders even though we mostly showed up at different times. Fast good service and they checked on us regularly. Food came out together and hot all around! I shared the surf platter and it was more than enough for two, cooked perfectly. I was so surprised it came with Caesar salad as well. The food was amazing and the service was out standing! Even more so for a larger group. Thank you for such a lovely experience, kitchen and servers. Highly recommend! Vegetarian options: A small selection offered on their regular dinner menu Parking: Has a small parking lot and then also underground parking for smaller cars
Great restaurant on the ocean shore. Delicious food, original design. But be prepared to wait for your order, because this place is very popular! I recommend visiting friends!
We recently used The Cook And Butchers banquet room for my wifes 50th birthday party. Everything was fantastic. Great venue, great food and amazing staff. Big thank you to Jenn and her team. Food : 5/5
Food was great, staff friendly and helpful. One small downside for me was outdoor seating was not on the water side of the building. Inside seating has spectacular ocean view.
The food was excellent. We went for dinner with our kids (ages 6 and 8) and the staff were wonderful. We ended up dining outside, which I wouldnt do again, but other than that we had a great experience! Kid-friendliness: They had drawing tablets that the kids were excited about, and the staff were patient and friendly.
The staff were all very friendly.. we asked where the good place for sighseeing, the staff wrote down in details..
Amazing food, service, and view! Great price to portions as well!
My new favourite place to eat
Our dinner here was very good and we had a booth by the window overlooking the harbour. We started off with the Candied Salmon Seafood Chowder. Then had the Tuna Poke Bowl and the Beef Sushi with Tuna and Jalapeno on top.
Very nice place, and you pay for it.
Normally I find the food fine but today I had the tuna poke bowl and it was not good. I found what looked like some sort of fungal growth after eating about half of the bowl. I should have sent it back but I was starving so I ate most of it. I let the server know and she said shed notify the kitchen. No discount was given so no tip was given either. No Im dealing with a nasty food poisoning situation
Tonight was an unforgettable experience. It was my mother in-laws birthday so we decided to take her out to the best restaurant in town. We had a wonderful time. We had a broad array of items from the menu. The seafood linguini and the surf and surf was perfectly cooked. Burgers were had by some of the table and they were perfect. One guest had a steak and it looked amazing. The staff were super friendly to the children and super accommodating. The view is great and we will be back!
A breathtaking view of the bay! Very good meal and impeccable service! Little attention with a candle for my sons birthday! What more !
Amazing experience all around. The hostess allowed us to take a window table even though it was booked for a reservation in 90 minutes after we arrived - we promised not to hang around all night. We ordered the fish & chips and man - the fish was to DIE for! Amazing. And the tartar is different yet traditional. Prices were excellent. The staff were excellent. Just a great evening all around. Highly recommend. Cheers from the Lower Mainland.
Fantastic food. The sushi rolls are dynamite. The crab dip is amazing and the Caesar is the bomb.
Perfect outlook and reasonable food. Great place to stop
Food was excellent. Service was a bit slow and we had to ask for untensils after our food was served. Otherwise an great experience and we will return next time we are in the area.
Met my aunt here - who is a local and apparently a regular One of my last stops before my ferry back to Vancouver - so glad she shared this hidden gem! The view of Cowichan Bay alone, makes it worth a stop. The food and cocktails really blew me away and our server was very attentive! I ordered one of the ceasers (forget the name), with a tiger prawn and smoked salmon - soo yummy! They even added some sauerkraut for me. The miso salmon was the star, so many flavours packed into one dish phenomenal. The salmon was also the freshest I think I ve ever had We shared the chocolate torte and that was also great; My aunt has a gluten allergy and they were also very accommodating. No complaints. Will 100% be coming back in the future to try the rest of the menu.
Delicious food and a fantastic view.
Very good, service was very hospitable and pleasant; food was excellent. We had the Millionaires Meatloaf, Katsu Bowl, Bison Spaghettini, and kids spaghetti. Portion size was great, presented nicely, and quite tasty all around. Nice view of Cowichan Bay, well be back to try other dishes.
Very good food. Gluten free options salad was wonderful. Dietary restrictions: Gluten friendly options. Parking: Very tight and busy parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Elevator from hotel lobby.
Beautiful dining room, amazing food and great pricing.
I could happily spend a lot of time here
Our favorite restaurant. Excellent seafood. Good beer and wine selections. Excellent desserts. Lovely view. Consistently good service.
Fresh, delicious seafood and a view to die for! Great customer service! Dietary restrictions: Great gf options! Food : 5/5 |
Great selection of food and drinks. Really enjoyed their braised pork belly and scallops.
Can not believe the last bad review. We had an amazing meal and server was top drawer What could have made a couple go 1 star at a place like this. 100 patrons, 10 top notch servers and chefs that could be in any high end world wide restaurant. What a view. Best choice we have made thank you
Foods always amazing love the meatloaf and the butchers roll.
Great food and menu choices!!
Amazing dining experience and the views are spectacular!
My husband and I just went for dinner here. From the fabulous dinner, to the most friendly, sweet server it was better than expected. My husband had the chicken bowl, very large and flavorful, and I had seafood linguini. The seafood was plentiful and was delicious. Both had cheesecake which was decadent and amazing. Looking forward to coming again.
The view is beautiful, the food is very bland & the service was meh. My margaritas were very good but I would suggest getting them half sweet. It says locally sourced but the quality of the food was giving sisco. Food : 2/5
So good.
Fantastic food and service. Only had the Calamari but it was one of the best.
Beautiful view of the ocean from the large windows. The steak was overcooked and tougher than expected. My wifes salmon was very good. We will give it another try.
Delicious food & drink! Thanks.
Outstanding food! I had the katsu bowl, my wife had the poke bowl and just wow, wonderfully prepared and very fresh. The hostess and server were very unaccomodating when we asked for a window table and were told that they were all taken, we asked to be placed at a window table at the first possible opportunity only to then be told that they are all reserved. One of the tables sat open for the remainder of our meal, didnt seem very reserved to me. I think that they simply didnt want to go through the hassle of moving us tables. The server was also having difficulty being present when attending to our table, lack of eye contact, no asking us how our day is/was, no small talk or niceties. She just seemed like she would rather be anywhere else but serving us. I want to be clear, she was not rude but also not present in serving the customers. I would highly recommend this place for nothing else but the awesome food! Prices are a bit high but expected for the restaurants location, the setting is beautifull, absolutely picturesque.
Great place to enjoy the spectacular view over Cowichan Bay with friends and good food! The atmosphere and hospitality are fantastic!
Love this place, amazing food, service, and views! Kid-friendliness: Our Kids loved eating here too! Food : 5/5 |
Much improved since last visit 3 years ago. Would love to see more choices with alcohol free drink options. Good service. Food presentation nice.
Best restaurant in cow bay great food and service.you always get your moneys worth.
Gorgeous ocean view restaurant. Had the fish and chips and they were excellent and fresh.
Been quite awhile since Ive been to a restaurant where Ive left saying I would 100% return! And we would here! Food was delicious, the drinks were so good. And the waitress for our table was amazing! We will totally return and I highly recommend! Food
Excellent food with amazing view!
The bay view is worth having. The restaurant is noisy and somewhat difficult for reasonable conversation. There was no background music. Tables and booths were average. Menu is standard Canadian burgers, fish and chips etc. Prices for value are to the upper end. Service was average. Food was good and drinks were standard beers, cider, wine etc.
Great food and ambiance
Absolutely wonderful food every time, would recommend for a fancy dinner with family and friends. Beautiful and great sunsets
We went with another couple. Had great service food was great
A great restaurant to dine at. Definitely recommend going at sunset for the views of the harbour. Food is reasonably priced though sometimes the portion sizes can be a bit lacking for what you re paying for. Service can be a bit slow too and I ve felt ignored a few times by the waitresses/waiters when asking for refills/menus/the bill/etc.
Blonde waitress took drink orders then took 30 mins to take food order. Was rude and rushy.
Food was very good, service was very slow & before our meal was done staff put all the chairs up on tables all around us, making us feel rushed.
Nice view of the bay, plenty of parking, and great food.
Loved the view but the food was definitely underwhelming. I expected more after hearing good things, but I have definitely had better food.
Beautiful views and great service
I love everything about the Cook and Butcher: the food (oh, the Millionaires Meatloaf - yum), the service (everyone is friendly with just the right amount of attention), and the wonderful atmosphere! It fits the Cowichan Valley perfectly in every way. Love this place! Parking: For as busy as the Cook and Butcher is, we are always able to find parking close by or directly in the lot.
Servers were super cool, very polite and on point. The view was breathtaking and the food was just yum! Doesnt get any better than that!
Highly over rated...dont bother. Terrible server.
Great food at reasonable prices. Parking: Spots are shared with the hotel so finding a spot can be challenging Food : 4/5 |
Very good....Stop and have a look you will love it!
Views are fantastic - food and service were average.
Beautiful view, great seafood
Amazing food
This is a great place for a nice dinner. The atmosphere was beautiful, cozy & picturesque overlooking the bay. The service was wonderful. We had a table of 7 and the overall time of service and food delivery was impeccable. Such great quality food and absolutely delicious. Try as many things on the menu as youre able. We shared bites and it was all absolutely devine The chowder was absolutely delicious and very fulfilling, even the small cup. I had a few We highly recommend this quaint little spot and will return hopefully soon. Small suggestion, it was a little loud when it was full, maybe something that buffers the sound of everyones voices that travel across the open space. Overall was a great experience. Thank you everyone for a wonderful evening
Nice view of the bay.
Incredible food and service.
Had a delicious meal here. Nice atmosphere, service was great and cocktail was good.
Excellent food, good size portions. Lots of menu choices! Very impressed, I will be back!
Food was amazing. Service was good, but slow.
The food was amazing! Definitely worth the price! You won t be disappointed :)
Great location, amazing food, surprisingly good price considering the quality of everything!
Such an amazing place to visit the food service and view was all so delicious, will definitely be going back thank you to the wonderful staff especially our server Bennett. She was so helpful such an upbeat, wonderful lady thank you Bennett thank you Cook butcher will definitely be back. We will highly recommend this restaurant to all our friends.
New Year s Eve was an exceptional dinner- always enjoy the dining experience- The full package
Amazing food. Amazing staff. Amazing view. We are locals and have dined here before but this weekend we are having a staycay in the Oceanfront Suites at Cowichan Bay (where the Cook and Butcher is located) and weve enjoyed their breakfast delivered to our room as well as a quick bite in the restaurant. This is a fun and popular place with consistently great food and service.
It must have one of the best views of establishments in the Cowichan Bay. Huge glass windows overlooking the bay, try and ask for a window seat if possible. Overall atmosphere is spacious and modern. Service was pleasant, efficient and accommodating. It was not particularly crowded on our lunchtime occasion. Food is slightly upmarket with higher pricing to accompany it. There are some more interesting and inventive things on the menu than one usually encounters.
Excellent Beautiful View
Great restaurant, very good meals and great service. I will be back for sure.
During the starter, our main course was already placed on the table. The ladies in the service clearly didnt feel like it today. The arugula on my pasta was old. I got a discount for that, but an apology would have been more appropriate. What really bothered me was how some of the ladies in the service were dressed. Too naked and too short. Im not a prude, but a little less wouldnt hurt. I can imagine that guests do not feel comfortable with that. At least I dont...
Awesome Cesar
The service was good, they had enough staff for the size of the restaurant. It was not crowded. We all enjoyed our meals, lots of variety on the menu. The wines and mixed drinks are on the higher end for price. The coast to coast caesar is over the top! Its lunch in a jar. Nice atmosphere with a beautiful view!
Good a little expensive
Wow. This is the best food I have eaten in a while. Extraordinary. We had the salmon and the pork belly. Both great. The accompaning sides were almost better than the main protein. Great prices for the quality. Dinner was so good we tried to make reservations for the next night but they were full. An eleven! We made it another day...not so grand. Pork ribs were OK, not great. Millionaires meat loaf very good but did not knock it out of the park like the other day.
For the price the portions were small. Not wowed about the food. I don t think I will return.
Delicious food and an amazing view!
This is hands down the best seafood you can find in cowichan bay. The seafood is fresh and cooked properly. The service is great the view is amazing. Great place.
Amazing dish. Very light on added salt which is very rare for restaurant meals these days. Very tasty.
The food was great, the view was spectacular, but the service sucked! We watched two other tables who arrived after us receive their meals and nearly finish their meals before we were served. Not even a refill of our water nor an apology from our server for the long wait. Not impressed!
Fabulous food, great service and lovely atmosphere. We will be back!
Excellent food. Beautiful view!
The best restaurant in Cowichan Valley in my humble opinion food is the best by far.cheaply priced for high end food very friendly atmosphere, beautiful and friendly people serving great service take out is great too. Vegetarian options: The Miso salmon is a perfect dish for a vegan I was delighted
I can t get enough of this place! The food is on point every time and the staff is amazing. Couldn t ask for a better view. If you re looking to impress this is the place. Bonus tip: they have the best sunset in the cowichan valley. You won t be disappointed
***manager PLEASE read***** Ok, Honestly, i never really write reviews but this one was just too terrible to leave unsaid. The view was beautiful and the drinks were yummy, the ceaser was absolutely delishious. but thats about all that was positive about my experience at this resturant. First walking into the resturant, we waited several minutes for the hostest to be present and greet us. Upon sitting down, we took drink orders fairly quickly but then the waitress didnt come back for quite awhile to take food orders. Some had already finished their first drinks before she came back to take our orders. We were a large group all in our 20s and not one of us was IDd. One girl at our table was literally 15 years old and was served alcohol by our waitress! The 15 year old didnt even order a drink, the waitress had an extra shaft and asked if she wanted it... She wasnt even accompanied by her parents. The food was overpriced and extreamly basic, I ordered the Mac and cheese. The bread tasted like card board and the Mac and cheese was very bland. I kind of expected at least some seasoning on the mac and cheese.. sure the salad was fine but its pretty hard to screw up a salad. My friend beside me ordered the fish and chips. Her fish batter was so dark, it was clear the oil was extreamly old. Her coleslaw tasted like it was several weeks old, many of us tried it and literally had to spit it out. It was so disgusting. Her fries were cold and soggy. She also had to remind the server several times to refill her iced tea even though she remembered all the alcoholic drinks ordered after the iced tea. Our server also spilled my drink on me while she was putting it on the table, which stained my brand new dress and didnt even offer to reduce my bill for the drink. Waitress staff all around seemed pretty grumpy and miserable, walked around with scowls on their faces. Made them all seem pretty unapproachable when needing something. Super overpriced and really disappointing, honestly pretty concerning too about the IDs. Hopefully it was just a one off kinda day but it takes only a couple seconds to ask to see IDs and not risk serving a minor, which she did. I would really love to get in touch with the manager of this facility.
First time here upon recommendation of friends. Was meeting a client here and could not find anyone to seat us. We decided to walk in after a few minutes and discovered our client was early and joined him. It took a good 20 minutes for someone to get to our table and take a drink order. Not typical service, I feel perhaps this server was new. Food was great, view even better. Well try again when in the area.
Love this place, excellent food and incredible service.
Great food and great sunset views!
We are staying at the hotel and ordered take out. Food was fantastic. Buffalo and meat loaf were our dishes and the service was amazing for pick up. They set us up well.
The food was good, the service friendly and caring and the view to the harbour and the bay is amazing! If you have the chance, give it a try!
Food was great with menu options galore. Service was very good and attentive .
Amazing views great food and service was A+
Great view Great dry aged steak Wagyu meatloaf was a bit dry for $36 Service was excellent Will return to try something else and check out the cocktail program
This place checks all the boxes. Great view, delicious food and excellent staff. Signature drink is The Caesar with your choice of attachments
I went last night. I had the carbonara con pollo (chicken and pork) carbonara. Delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Arugula and pancetta (really good) plus a strong cheese-Parmesan or asiago, and lots of garlic. I was very impressed. I don t know if fresh ground pepper is not offered anymore which it didn t need but that would be the only hiccup. The server was very good: the blend of attentive and also leaving the guests to visit. Views were great. Light fixtures were impressive. I worked there years ago and this is 100% improved.
Lovely experience. Great views, cold beers and delicious food. A very eclectic, spacious and inviting place.
It is a great place to bring friends
Amazing would definitely go back again. Fantastic food, service and incredible view
I went to this place last year and the food was amazing. The food this time around was okay. Chicken was super dry and and the fish and chips are just not good. I waited so long at the front to be seated I thought they were closed and I dont think the hostess was busy since there was no customers in there. There was also an old cucumber under the table. It was kinda hidden so I can see the staff missing it when cleaning but still gross.
We have been there a few times over the summer and Everytime was so great!! Piping hot veggies, potatoes, chicken, wings etc. Top notch and look forward to going back. Big shout out to Chef, cooks and kitchen staff for this!! Thank you severs for your great attention as well...
Had a great time here. Good food choices. I had the baseball sirloin. The price is fair for location. Nice view of the water and dock. Spotted a couple seals.
All the hype and all the fizzle.... Our first dinner out on our Vancouver Island road trip which which sadly ended up being a disappointment. We phoned ahead to see how busy it was and were told no reservations necessary and not that busy. Decided to head on down and were ostracized to the lounge where upon we were ignored until someone dropped off some waters with no acknowledgement and then were further ignored until someone finally came by to take an order. We decided to order burgers that sounded delicious at the time and a drink given the hour and that it had been a long day already. Sadly the burgers were not what we were looking forward to and in the end were your typical bar burger with the chicken burger being somewhat on the dry side. I believe we would have had a better experience not being in the lounge while clearly there were free tables available, friendlier staff or timely acknowledgement, or a bit of both, would have set a better tone or atmosphere and in all likelihood would have forgiven the food.
Amazing view, fantastic service, mediocre food (on par with Bard & Banker in Victoria) Dietary restrictions: Its mostly seafood
Great food, wonderful service and a breathtaking view..... what more could you ask for? We shared appis for dinner and the chowder was wonderfully complex, the dragon roll and butchers roll came out hot and crispy, and so good! Tacos were yummy with fresh corn tortillas and the service was fast and super friendly. My second time there and will definitely go back.
Good view and location. Had meatloaf and, it was very good.
The whole experience was great, the atmosphere, the service and servers were great our fish and coleslaw were lacking flavor. But well definitely be back.
Love this place. Great food. Great views. Heading there for my anniversary on sunday cant wait!
First time here! I got the chicken brie sandwich and oh my goodness - it was a flavor heaven in my mouth. The creamy baked brie, the bacon jam, the perfectly grilled chicken I cant wait to come back. Kid-friendliness: They had a cool e-drawing board which was so fun for my daughter and obv a kids menu.
Excellent food, large portions, and good quality. Prices are low for the quality and portion size. Nice voew of the ocean even if you dont get one of the many window tables.
Weekday business lunch, this place is still pretty busy. My colleague said they usually have to wait to get in. Love the seafood, fresh and cooked just right. It s right by the water, we can even see sea lions on the dock. Great place to visit in the cowichan valley
Great little local pub with excellent food, a nice vibe and reasonable prices.
Myself and my dad were very lucky to find this place by chance driving through Cowachen. We were even luckier to get seated right by the window with a great view of the sleeping sea lions. The food was great, clean plates. And very reasonably priced. We were delighted with the experience, would come back again.
Great seafood & caesars. Top spot in Cow bay/valley
Went here for our anniversary lunch. The view is great, as well as food was fantastic. Huuuge fan of their variety of ceasers. Nagoya style chicken wings are delicious too! We will definitely come back! Vegetarian options: They have some vegetarian and vegan options Dietary restrictions: I have daily allergies Kid-friendliness: We brought a baby with stroller
Great service, atmosphere, and very tasty food. Our server, Jinet, was an absolute gem. The reason for our visit was our one-year anniversary and we absolutely loved it. The restaurant had a cozy and romantic ambiance, perfect for celebrating such a special occasion. Jinet went above and beyond to make our evening memorable, recommending delicious dishes and ensuring we had everything we needed. The food was simply outstanding, each bite bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. We couldnt have asked for a better way to celebrate our anniversary.
Levi the best cook in there complements to the chef
The vegetarian linguini with mushrooms and roasted tomatoes were swimming in oil and the tomatoes were raw and cold. Awful .This was a birthday dinner so I didnt complain, but do not order this!!! The mac and cheese, seafood linguini and pork belly orders were food.
