A family bistro restaurant in the beautiful town of Cranbrook, Kent. Offering freshly made food to eat, we serve great breakfasts, lunches, brunch and food throughout the day. We have a great selection of teas, coffees and other light refreshments as well as having a full license to sell alchol until 11pm. We have wide access doors that are both pram and wheelchair friendly and have baby changing facilities in our restrooms. During the day many customers bring their dogs along with them while they eat. Willow and Sage Bistro has quickly become renowned in Cranbrook for its delectable dishes and charming ambiance, nominated for Made in Kent Food and Drink Awards 2024.
We met friends for lunch here today and it didn’t disappoint. The food was presented so beautifully and tasted great! Love the atmosphere and the Christmas window display!
Willow and Sage has become my go to for a quick coffee, lunch with friends or a family meal, it is beautifully decorated and clean, the staff are friendly and accommodating. They have a lovely coffee with a distinct flavour and always have a good range of cakes. I’ve had foods from a simple bacon sandwich, cooked breakfast, lemon and Parmesan pasta with peas and every soup of the day they’ve made, they do an adult and children’s menu and my children (9 & 13) love eating there. My son very much enjoyed their roast dinner and my daughter loves their fluffy pancakes, I have booked a table for Christmas Day and am certain it will be amazing. The menu is exceptional and the owner is a natural at making everyone comfortable. I am hoping to attend one of their event evenings which include quiz night, open mic poetry, Prosecco and paint and many more, I would highly recommend you visit.
What a lovely little bistro in the heart of Kent. Welcoming staff and great food. My daughter and I had dinner there the other night and we will be heading back there on our next trip to Cranbrook.
We went strawberry picking locally and I found this gem on Google. The staff were very friendly and the menu was great for a lunch spot. The restaurant was very clean also. We'll definitely be back.
Willow and Sage helped host my hen party with just over a week’s notice as we were let down by another place. We all had the most amazing afternoon for bottomless brunch. Brilliant food, atmosphere and the staff were excellent! Could not recommend this place enough, thank you so much to the team! We will be back❤️
Lovely owner run and managed cafe. Booked for brunch on a wet Easter Monday. Glad we reserved as it’s a small place and we were a big party. Lovely menu for big and little kids alike. We were greeted with a lovely smile and seated quickly. Orders were taken quickly. Drinks came quickly. Food was a little slower as it’s freshly made but well worth the wait. Cooked Breakfast and pancakes are highly recommended. Coffee and tea is excellent. Juice is standard carton stuff but pleasant enough. The owner Chloe and her team are lovely and welcoming and clearly very accommodating for small, large and single guests plus dogs. It’s also a very inclusive cafe which accommodates people with disabilities. Lovely find and highly recommended for all. A local gem.
What a fantastic place. From the welcoming faces to the relaxed atmosphere. First I should mention the coffee, for me one of the most important things that make a great cafe and Willow and Sage did not disappoint. The flat white was great, coffee had great crema and was made in a small cup for me the perfect size for a flat white, somewhere between a cortado and a cappuccino cup. I ordered the fish cake with poached egg, it was delicious clearly home made and with a poached egg that was fit to pop. The fish sauce was served on the side, which is a nice touch as I only had about half of it, which for me was the right amount. The fish cake was a good size and he had a nice mix of fish and even some prawns. Our table also ordered the poached eggs and avocado on sourdough which looked great and I was assured tasted great. We had a sausage roll, which again was clearly home made and more sausage than pastry. The chips were also a favorite too, proper chips and well seasoned. The final order on our table was a Tina melt panini which disappeared as fast as it arrived. Both the sausage roll and panini came with a dressed side salad and a little pot of homemade coleslaw. As if this wasn't enough, they have a very tempting selection of cakes. I had a cinnamon bun, which was particularly nice as it was not dusted with lots of cinnamon sugar as they often are it was very fresh with plenty of cinnamon. The whole experience was excellent, there is a busy but not overly noisy atmosphere with a hint of quirky. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. If you have not tried Willow and Sage I would. It is a place I will be returning to very soon.
A fantastic cup of coffee at this new cafe with a great vibe. My food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious-you must try the Parmesan truffle chips! Very comfy seats. A great selection of cakes. Helpful staff . Well worth a visit , what more could you want?
Absolutely delicious creamy mushroom pasta dish, hubby had the chilli beans which he genuinely loved! Even the chips were very tasty! Slightly surreal moment, walked into thier bathroom to find my late fathers favourite aftershave, and my late mothers favourite Christmas songs playing .. after an extremely difficult year, this was amazing! Kid-friendliness: Our autistic was made to feel welcome. Lovely and quiet
Enjoyed an evening of festive cheer, mulled wine, wreath making and lots of cheese!
Brilliant evening with choir group. Excellent food service & atmosphere for our Christmas gathering. Have also been for breakfast & lunch on other occasions always very good.
A really lovely home from home restaurant. So friendly, dogs welcome ( a big plus!), great food, can recommend their breakfasts and Sunday lunch, lovely owners and staff. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Lovely Cranbrook breakfast with great service. Thanks to Chloe and her staff Highly recommended Food
Popped in on a lunchtime to be sat waiting for over 20 minutes for a drink and from sitting down to getting food was a 45 minute wait. Wasn t made aware of the wait times if they were busy but they weren t. A couple of other tables in but by the looks of it, the other tables were friends/family of staff working who helped themselves to drinks while we waited. The food was lovely and is good price for it but the service and atmosphere really let this visit down and we definitely will not be returning.
I visited a few months back with a friend and we waited a little over half an hour for our order to arrive. We only ordered chips and the shop wasnt busy at all. It arrived cold. I was disappointed. Hopefully the service has improved since then. The staff seems very friendly and the decour is lovely. Portions are small for what you are paying, but judging by all the good reviews, they must have worked out the kinks and improved.
Fabulous and much needed addition to the town. Great menu and lovely staff. Amazing roasts on Sunday and fully booked for all events. Enough said!! Book ahead!
Second visit and this is quickly becoming a favourite for the girlfriend and I. There was a small issue with our food, which was handled promptly and appropriately. So why five stars when there was an issue? Because these things happen, and it was dealt with. Very happy with the bistro.
We have had lunches and coffees at W&S on several previous occasions. A friendly and positive establishment. Alas, last Thursdays evening meal did not maintain the high expectations arising from easier visits. Despite booking a table for 3 people a few days in advance within a prescribed area, it almost felt that we were not expected. We placed our orders, 2 starters and 3 mains. Once we had finished our first course it was approximately 35 mins before the main courses arrived at our table. We had arrived just prior to 6.30pm. and the main course were served just after 7.30pm. At the time, there seemed to be just one other occupied table of 4 people, so the restaurant was not busy. Regrettably, the prawns in my Linguine were tough indicating that they had been over cooked. My wifes tartlet was cold in the middle. We made no comment at the time. General disappointment with this visit which is a shame as we know it has done much better during daytime visits.
The second visit to the restaurant, love the atmosphere and the decor! Feels very cosy and inviting. Had a great meal last time, and a small issue this time which was resolved promptly, politely and discreetly. Huge thank you to all the staff involved, accidents happen and were all only human. 5 stars all round, brilliant customer service and human element.
Such a lovely bistro with a brilliant atmosphere. James and Chloe are always very welcoming and have created a very special venue that really is second to none! I would also say if you havent been to one of their evening events - they are well worth going to!
I booked an afternoon tea for five people, for my mum s birthday, which included catering for one coeliac and two vegetarians, and Chloe and her staff couldn t have done more! The attention to detail was amazing and there was so much food we all came home with doggy bags! Nothing was too much trouble. Every time I ve been in either for cake, breakfast or for the brilliant events Willow and Sage put on, I m never disappointed.
This is a gem of a bistro/cafe in Cranbrook. Delicious food every single time. A lovely varied, yummy menu. I am always greeted with beaming smiles and a warm welcome. A feel good place that you know you can just sit and relax and feel looked after. And dont get me started on the event nights! I have attended the prosecco and painting and a quiz night and had a huge amount of fun. Burgers and bingo next which is sure to be a hoot!
I have been to Willow and Sage on a number of occasions and on every visit we have had excellent service, lovely food and there is always a great atmosphere. I have visited for breakfast, had an amazing afternoon tea and attended evening events and always felt welcome and that the staff go above and beyond. I would highly recommend Willow and Sage Bistro.
Another lovely visit to Willow and sage. Lovely drinks and great food. The open sandwich is very tasty.

One of the nicest club sandwiches Ive had in years. Thank you.
My husband and I enjoyed the most delicious lunch, coffee and cake at the Willow and Sage. The gentleman who served us was lovely, funny, kind and polite. We stayed longer than we planned and were particularly impressed with the sausage roll and cinnamon bun ;);) We definitely recommend this cafe and look forward to returning in the future (even though we live in Kingston!!!).
Absolutely amazing food, great service and great atmosphere. What more can you wish for
My husband and I have been to the Willow and Sage Cranbrook a few times, and each and every time we have been warmly welcomed and had a lovely dining experience! Chloe is an absolute joy, and nothing is too much. She is extremely accommodating, in fact all the staff are and Eden who served us was so polite and helpful. We will (of course) be back! Thoroughly recommended! A Jem of a place on the high street.
Really lovely restaurant, very friendly staff. Great food.
Had lunch with my daughter she loved the pasta and we shared the lotus biscoff pancake it was delicious and the servings were generous! Service was friendly highly recommend
Beautiful little restaurant, great menu, delicious food and lovely staff.
I have eaten here about 5 times now - I am making my way through the menu Delicious fresh produce - turned into yummy mouthwatering meals. The Willow breakfast is perfectly cooked and a real treat. I like the fact they swap out items or you can pay for additional. One of my favourites is the Caesar salad. Clean toilet and very friendly staff. A local haunt !
A wonderful little gem. The food was fresh, very light, and prepared quickly. Q We tried the calamari, which surprised me and probably were one of the best I tried lately. The Mediterranean tarte was delightful and made with care and light dough. The Caesar salad was very well-seasoned and tasty. We will return! Also, it was very clean, and the owner was there to serve and recommend the options. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options Parking: Parking available 1 min walk. It s paid Kid-friendliness: Lovely for kids, decorated colorful and the staff is very kind Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access and toilets are adjusted
Great atmosphere, warm, cosy and very welcoming.

This place is 10000/10! Food was amazing, best coffee weve had in weeks (being from Australia) but the best part was the service, everyone was so lovely! So nice to chat to everyone here, will be back for sure

Exceptional flavors paired with impeccable service. A culinary experience that exceeds all expectations - Bardan 2024
Newly established restaurant. Hot drinks, cakes, breakfast and light meals. Licensed. Happy vibe and friendly service in this place. Well worth a visit.
I visited Willow and Sage yesterday for lunch, a particularly bleak, miserable day, but the atmosphere inside was warm and welcoming and the food and coffee were excellent. Menu was varied and catered for all tastes. As I didnt want anything too filling I opted for the My favourite Salad which, in my book, raised salads to a new level - unusual, delicious and was, in fact, very filling. The staff were friendly and efficient, prices reasonable. I couldnt have asked for more. Parking: Free parking in town car park behind restaurant.
My husband and I visited Willow and Sage yesterday having read a good review and were very impressed with everything about this new venture. Great menu, delicious food and lovely friendly staff. Highly recommend
The food was great, service was quick and although they were full, they called to let us know there were seats. the food was designed nicely and the atmosphere in the cafe was great in general, I do recommend coming here. Kid-friendliness: There were baby seats available for kids and there was no fuss when booking children in.
Fantastic service, atmosphere and most importantly food!! Would highly recommend and looking forward to visiting again!
We were staying nearby in Golford and visited Cranbook for a few hours. We were recommended to go to Willow and Sage and it was an absolute delight. The staff and owner were super friendly and the menu was both extensive and there was ample brunch choice for vegetarians/vegans. I myself ordered a soy-based hot drink that was absolutely delicious & a great size. Highly recommended. If I was even remotely in the area I would absolutely go again. Vegetarian options: Lots of choice and customisation.
My wife and I visited Willow and Sage today and we were both glad we did.The staff were extremely helpful and the service was 1st class, the ambiance was fantastic and the food definately lived up to our expectations. James and Chloe are truly genuine lovely kind people and we would highly recommend this special dining experience. Well worth a visit!
