Ordered a combo dinner to go. Almond chicken and chow mein. Food was deliscious. Cooked quickly and tasted great. Quick and friendly service. Good Chinese food at a reasonable price. Would buy from here again. Highly recommend this restaurant if you areclooking for a place with tasty Chinese food.

Visited Cranbrook and friends took us for dinner here. Really wanted to like this because our friends raved about it. It was the worst Chinese food Ive ever had. The service was almost non existent besides bringing us a bottle of warm water and our plates of food. I usually find your typical hole in the wall and not updated kinda place usually has the best food, but not this place. We were never asked if we even wanted a drink other than the warm water. Ice cubes didnt exist. We were to just write our order on a piece of scrap paper instead of our order being taken by the server. I got the impression they did more take out than dine in and thats fine, then shut down your dining room. Chow mein was cold, s&s pork was tough and chewy, ginger beef was soaked in a watey ginger sauce, the fried rice and beef with mixed vegetables were about the only edible dishes but still nothing to rave about!

They were nice enough but chicken chow mein had maybe 2 or 3 thin small pieces of chicken same for cabbage. Nothing else. Beef in black bean sauce was very runny not thicker and hardly any beef did like the amount vegetables. It seems to me they are struggling to stay open and by doing so cutting back on the quality of the meal. Sad this is not a good way to get and or keep customers. Instead of making portions a bit smaller but provide more In just noodles or watering down sauces.

I am a fairly skilled writer but Ill keep it simple for this one. This is the best Chinese food in Cranbrook. 5/5 food 5/5 service 4/5 atmosphere. The restaurant itself is a little dated (yet clean). Hardly relevant when your really there for the food and service, not architecture.

We stopped in this past fall bathroom was filthy. Bad Bad food nothing to drink but water . Don t waste your time!!!!!

Terrible food, over salty on some items wayyy bland on others. Decided to return food where I was riddiculed and only given back 50% with my full order of food brought back. Would not recommend to anyone! Also see lots of reviews of people getting sick

Dinner for 4 is very good, and you will have enough for another three meals after. The people that work there are always kind and polite, I love this place.

Honestly for what it cost I expected better. The wontons are terrible & the broth was worse. Very nice people nice service but overall the food was so so at best.

Food is always good here however went to the buffet tonight was told kids were 10 dollars when we went to pay was charged 12.95 for my children. Also the service really is horrible not only were we only served water and not asked if we wanted anything else to drink, but we also had to wait for very long waits for food and when they finally got fresh stuff out by the time you got to the front of the line its gone again. Twice it took us over an hour to have supper as we spent more time waiting on food to be filled then enjoying our meal. I wont be returning for buffet.

Picked up house special chow mein and S & S boneless pork, food was excellent with good size portions. Very friendly fellow at the counter & only 20 min wait and take out was VERY busy!

We ordered take out while we were traveling toward Cranbrook. It was ready on time, person taking order was very helpful and friendly. The food was flavourful and hot when picked up. We ordered beef and broccoli, house chow mein, sweet and sour boneless pork and white rice.

Nice small home town feel Chinese restaurant, food was excellent, service was great, and everything was nice and clean!

Poor quality and service. Best port of the meal was the sauce !!! Don t waste your money. Sad to say it but that s the truth.

The very first time I ordered was over a year ago and it was terrible. But its been a long time So tonight I thought heck ill try again. What a waste of money. The chicken chow mein had 1 piece of chicken in it. The noodles tasted TERRIBLE. The chicken balls werent balls. They were over breaded grease soaked chicken strips . I bit into one and just threw the entire container out. The vegetables tasted like burnt frying pan. And the ginger beef just wasnt good. It was the only thing i actually ate though so i guess it was edible. So ill give 2 stars because i ate the gingerbeef. The sweet and sour sauce also tasted like the stuff you buy in a jar at the grocery store. My husband threw all his in the garbage. My 7 year old ate the noodles and vegetables with loads of soy sauce out of pure hunger. I almost told them to forget the order when I walked in after ordering an hour and a half before hand and it still wasnt ready. Wish I had walked out and spent my money elsewhere. This is twice now its been like this. Not to mention the wine glasses hanging in the front are so filthy and dust covered it seriously makes me question the kitchen condition. I will never eat there again. Super disappointing. But I should of known better from the first experience. Lesson learned .

The best Chinese food weve ever had. This is a small family run restaurant with homemade food and friendly service. The beef w broccoli had an amazing garlic sauce (not a slimy sauce like beef w broccoli often is elsewhere). And the sweet and sour pork sauce was perfect (not thick and overseer like the jammy sauce at other restaurants).

Rice was burnt, ginger beef soggy, lemon chicken was all batter no chicken to speak of. I ve never posted a review before but it was so bad that I had to.

I love this place, the people and the food! Always great service and fresh, hot, fast food. Definitely highly recommend

Wow. We recently moved here from Victoria. This was better than any we had there (even in Chinatown). Best gingerbeef weve ever tasted. Deep fried wonton was packed thickly and again, Best ever. Often we have found that texture of dishes is the primary difference with Chinese food, but not this time. Each dish had a unique flavour. We had the dinner for 6 with an order of deep fried wonton. The only dish I would call average was the chow mein, which was still tasty. A bit pricey, but worth every penny and lots of leftovers for tomorrow. Soooo good!

We had an excellent take-out meal Friday night. Enough for 2 dinners and it was delicious even heated up for day #2. Oh, and Lunch on Day #3!! Good job and well be back. C & C

Ordered 3 hrs ahead on mothers day. Had to travel 19 khm to get it. Over Half way there they called me and said they ran out of the 2 main items that we always order and are the best on their menu. I Said should have called me earlier and maybe come up with a couple of different things. Said were really busy. Tried to give me something they had made up. No receipt in bag. Terrible customer service. Did it to a couple standing outside with me as well. But. they never got a call . Got home. Spring rolls were dripping in oil. No sauce on curry shrimp fried rice. Complete and udder disaster. Gave them a 1 star cause couldnt rate it with a zero. Never go again. Hope people read this. Has great food. But if you treat people like. They wont come back.

Just a traveller passing by who was tired and in need of some good Chinese and a movie. The bbq pork fried rice was so flavourful and the chicken chow mein was good too. The bbq pork and veg, also very good. Ginger beef needs a bit more sauce then it will be perfect lol! And the chicken balls were super yummy. All round good food. And I m fussy about food on the road so it was nice

Ordered one person meal of sweet and sour chicken balls and chicken chow main. I got some kind of long blobby chicken and no sweet and sour sauce in a box marked Lunch. Large serving of mediocre chow mein. I called the restaurant and they said they would tell the kitchen to go back to making it into chicken balls. How about some sauce. Very disappointed. Wont be back

We were driving thru Cranbrook and picked up takeout from here because we had a few hours drive ahead of us. They have a dinner special for $31 where you get a noodle, a meat + veg , 2 spring rolls and meat dish. The price seemed super generous and we thought we would give it a shot. The portions are good but the food was extremely bland and lacked flavour. Also there was barely any meat in the noodles or veg +meat dish. Most definitely would not recommend this place because the food was not good.

The food was delicious. If you want your chicken balls to have more chicken order the almond chicken or lemon chicken with sauce on the side. It still has a crust on it but is mostly chicken with much less batter! So good!

Food tasted great, HOWEVER, within 30min of eating I became very sick with some pretty client vomiting and stomach pain. Its a shame be side the food was great and I had planned on stopping in twice on my work trip. Not sure what the issue was, but being I was fine, and hadnt ate much of anything yet that day, it couldnt have been anything else.

I ve never had ginger beef this delicious and I ve literally ordered from a couple hundred Chinese food places throughout my lifetime. It was so exceptional that I ordered 8 portions, took them to Calgary and froze them. Now when I order Chinese food here, I can skip the ginger beef because I have the best already

I have been going to this restaurant since they were located in Kimberly...once every week i used to drive 30kms just to eat their food...its been more than 1 year since i have been their regular customer...dumplings are totally awesome...their food with black bean saus is an absolute gift from god...i am so confident about their food that i can close my eyes pick any number and still be sure that the dish is going to be awesome...it is perfect..it is tasty and absolutely healthy.... without any doubt...even if you have to wait for some time i would say it is more than woth it...the more i write about it the more think it is an understatement...PLEASE TRY IT ONCE YOU WILL LOVE IT...absolutely love it...

Excellent food. Have not had Chinese food this good since coming to Cranbrook 6 years ago. Staff is very friendly and the food is served very hot. Have been here twice and will definitely be back.

Very good food - Ordered takeout and was very impressed with the quality of the food. Even though it took longer than other takeout restaurants (50 mins to get the food because it was really busy that night), it was well worth the wait. Food was hot and very tasty! Ordered chicken chow mein, black bean veggies, sweet and sour pork, and ginger beef. Perfect sweet and sour pork, best Ive had! (it was fresh and crispy like it should be!). Probably my favorite chicken chow mein also (noodles cooked perfectly, not too greasy, and the chicken pieces were great). Price and portion sizes were fair. The black bean veggie dish was very good (and Im not even a big fan of black bean sauce) The black bean sauce was not too strong or salty other restaurants have, and the veggies were not over cooked. My only criticism would be the ginger beef texture was soft and a bit soggy (it really should be more crispy like the sweet and sour pork). That being said everything else was perfect and this will be my new favorite Chinese food spot, great job Butterfly Garden!!!

What a feast for $50. Dinner, Lunch and Dinner again. The food was spot on. The ginger beef is spicy and fantastic. The sweet and sour has its own signature flavour and was well prepared with sesame seeds sprinkled ontop. The chow mein was perfectly done. I will definitely eat here again. Served family style for you to share.

Wow! The taste is in the name authentic . The flavour of this food is the best we have had. This is what Chinese food should taste like. It is not masked with salt and MSG. The flavours actually come from the ingredients. You can tell they take pride in every dish. The chicken balls are to die for. A little bit of batter and a large chunk of juicy chicken. The veggies are fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. My husband is a very picky eater and they were very accommodating. The service was fast but after tasting the food it would have still been well worth a longer wait. I can t wait to try more of their dishes. I highly recommend giving this place a try. This will be our go to place from now on.

They make the BEST Ginger Beef and House Special Chow Mein! Recommend this restaurant! Everything we have had is fresh and delicious. Just watch your bill if you pick it up....they automatically add 20% gratuity.

What a disappointment we read the reviews and people said it was good best Chinese in Cranbrook. We walked in and given a menu and pen and paper they wanted us to write down our order. We write a list and then told half our list was unavailable so we picked other dishes only to be told they were unavailable, third time lucky we ordered. We should have left when we could not get the dishes we wanted, our dishes arrived we ordered sizzling satay beef and mushroom it was so bland definitely no satay. Also ordered the salt pepper pork this was also tastless, the special fried rice was rice with frozen vegetables a little bit of pork and super tiny prawns and once again tasteless. The spring rolls we order came with a satchel of sauce not even put in a bowl no presentation. Would definately never go back. We love Chinese food but this was so disappointing.

Very poor. Dont order the beef Curry unless you want curried cabbage and broccoli with almost no beef. Never going back there No Stars but one is lowest possible

Coming from Toronto and was pleasantly surprised to find this place in Kimberley! Food was on point and was tasty. Prices are reasonable for the area. Host was awesome. Definitely a repeat whenever I return here.

Good food, people are friendly but extremely slow service. 90 minutes for 4 dishes using their takeout service. When I ordered they told me it would be 45 minutes. It was actually double that.

We have been ordering from here for a long time but the last few times have been getting worse and worse!! Today the ginger beef was soooo dry I cannot even chew it and the container was maybe half way full, we ordered almond ski gui (which is already dry chicken) but it USUALLY comes with sauce, no sauce!!!! And we ordered 3 spring rolls and only got 2 sauce packages for the 3 rolls. After a long busy day we just wanted to order something that would be good and satisfying, this was neither! I dont think we will order from here ever again!!!!!
