Great food, great people. Excellent experience.

This is about as close as you can get to an 80s dinner. Everything was decent so I had no complaints. Worth a try to support a local business if you have a chance.

I love breakfast food and this is the best I ve ever had. It is locally owned and run by two of the kindest people I have ever met. You can literally taste the love in every bite. Everyone in this establishment cares about you as if you were part of the family. If you are in Cranbrook, you absolutely have to stop in here, and thank me later. This is the 2nd year in a row that myself and my travel companions have travelled through Cranbrook and frequented this R & B Grill for breakfast. Last year we dealt with a male server who was rude and displayed no memorable server experience. We returned to the restaurant for breakfast again this year, hoping that our experience the year before was just a one time bad experience. But alas, not so, the same rude server was there. We entered the restaurant and received NO greeting by this individual, but he did see us enter. When we were arranging a table for 6 with an extra chair for 7 people, that male server said how many, when I responded 7, all he did was point to another table with seating for eight. That server asked how many of us, when we replied, he brought menus to the table and literally threw the menus in mass onto to the table. A few moments later, that server asked any coffee, two of our group were not seated yet, two people at the table answered individually that they wanted coffee and one of our group informed the server that two other people were just arriving, his response was I just want to know how many here want coffee here, we responded they are here pointing to our two additional people who were in between the two sets of entrance doors. Add to the facts there were only two other customers in the restaurant at the time, it was not busy. My friend responded excuse me .. you are rude .. do you want us to leave ? .. we are paying customers, you should be providing service, the servers response was how many coffee here ! Based on reviews, the food may be good at this restaurant but the service, which is part of the customer service experience, failed miseably. After two negative experiences .. two years in a row ... we will NOT support this restaurant with our patronage. If anyone values positive customer service as part of the dining experience, this is not the place for you.

We love this place every time we come! The owners (who are the wait staff) are lovely people, attentive and obviously work really hard every day. Their homemade jams and syrup are heavenly! Will continue to come back time and time again. Food

This was the best breakfast place we have been to! The food was delicious and the staff were very nice. The gluten free bread was reasonably priced and good as well. I highly recommend stopping here for a reasonably priced feel good breakfast.

Like others say.... best breakfast on Earth! . This place is sooooo familiar to us who grew up in the he 60s. This is a classic breakfast dinner. Even the coffee cups exude history.

Favorite breakfast place in Cranbrook

Its clearly the local regulars that are leaving the good reviews. We were in Cranbrook for the day & thought we would try this restaurant as most of the reviews seemed good. It was our first visit & learned quickly that local regular patrons are favored. Our food took approximately 40 minutes to get served despite the restaurant being very quiet. It was mediocre & lukewarm at best...the butter didnt melt at all on the pancake but having already waited so long, we didnt want to say anything. No follow up drink service until the locals seated next to us asked for a coffee refill & then I was offered a refill for my coffee, my husband empty juice glass was ignored. No follow up regarding the food after served. The locals seated next to us arrived approximately 10 minutes after we ordered & received their food about 5 minutes before us. We were given an excuse about the pancakes taking a bit. We knew they were regulars as they were offered the usual when they sat down. They were loud & dropping the f bomb every few seconds & made it hard to carry on a conversation as they over took the area with theirs. Then the servers son showed up & was seated right behind us complaining loudly to her about his current job situation having his schedule/pay/benefits cut and then proceeded to watch my husband eat his food which made it an overall uncomfortable atmosphere for us. We just wanted to get out of there. We thought we would try it because the reviews seemed decent & like to try to support local small businesses when at all possible but this was a disappointing fail so we wont be back unfortunately.

Good homemade breakfast for a reasonable price. Service was friendly and food arrived fairly quick. We will definetly go back for the breakfast.

We stopped in for breakfast and were wonderfully delighted. I had an omelet and it was perfectly cooked. The best part, hands down, is the homemade jam in the squeeze bottles. Strawberry rhubarb and Marmalade.

This place is a fantastic little spot to have breakfast in Cranbrook. Ive only eaten breakfast here so I can only honestly comment on that. Bacon and eggs and nice crunchy shredded hash browns, with homemade jam and delicious orange juice. Its not a fancy place probably because they are more concerned with preparing amazing breakfast, but its clean and the waitress was friendly and very attentive to us, much appreciated. We will definitely visit again.

This place was great! Food was good but what really stood out was the service. My wife is dairy and gluten free and they were accommodating and careful to make sure she received food she could eat. Oh, and the homemade jam is unreal good!

The breakfast is a classic diner breakfast that is perfect on a road trip. The coffee tastes like a real cup of coffee and the jams are great. We would gladly come back. We just wish we ate breakfast here both days that we were in town.

I asked for gravy but they poured it on my fries which is whatever i just asked for another on the side, and then they never refilled any of our drinks, my spouse got a steak melt which was pathetic.. it was a burger patty on bread with cheese. Despite trying to get the servers attention we were ignored... it wasnt even busy either...

Great food and lots of it. 3 eggs,3 toast, 4 sausage for $12. Also has gluten free bread and lots of gluten free food. Large, CLEAN bathrooms, which seems to be an oddity in B.C. restaurants. Service was friendly and out going. Loved everything about the place, would definitely eat here again.

Server was nice, friendly tried communicating with me learning a few signs, because I am deaf! Homemade jam, strawberry rhubarb yummy, but food not great, cooked eggs wrong like soft runny, but cooked medium, hash browns shredded, but too soft no whole grain bread just brown! Steak cooked medium rare instead of medium, but good flavour! Picture shows breakfast special price, but must ask for it?? I ordered breakfast same as special but wouldve charged me regular price if I didnt inquire about special price??? Strange.

Breakfast special says 7.99 . We went in but they told us if you don t buy coffee it s 10 dollars. Well their sign should say that if that s the case. It s misleading / dishonest. I did not want to drink their coffee as I don t like the cranbrook fluoride water. Also the awful rock music playing is kinda out of place. When the owner asked me what they could do better I said country music would suit this place better. But he dismissed my feedback and ignored me. Yes that s his choice but anyways I will not be back nor would I recommend the place. Menu claimed the burgers are home made but the burger my friend had was made from a frozen patty. Again misleading.

Visiting Kimberley nearby for a Spartan Race. We got into town early Friday and just wanted a good simple breakfast. This place exceeded our expectations! Quick and delicious with attentive service. Everything was fresh and home made. Just what we needed. The home made jam is so good we came back for a big breakfast on our way out of town and the owner remembered us! He served us and was personable and fabulous. It was even better the second time around. They sell jars of the amzing jam even.

After one of our favorite breakfast places recently closed, the need to find a new one became important. We immediately fell in love with this cozy family restaurant. The highlight, of course being the homemade jams, is conveniently located in squirting bottles, which makes it convenient to poor onto the toast. It is also very tasty, and so are the home made dishes. The eggs are cooked well, the hash browns are tasty and the bacon is crisp and tasty. The restaurant is always clean and the service efficient. The price is fair and wont leave you with a bad taste. The ambiance is welcoming, especially when the first person you see is one of the owners. The only downside to the place is that it is not open after mid afternoon. This has officially now become our favorite breakfast nook, and we have and will continue to return.

Disgusting. Plain. Nothing special. Could have made a better lunch for my girlfriend and sister at home for waayyy less. 50 for 3 people and everything (except for my sister in laws omellete) was so underwhelming and just plain gross. The fries looked they were cooked in oil that was a month old the tuna melt was cold and soggy. The clubhouse had one piece of bacon on soggy toast. And all that for 50? Never going back. Never recommending.

This place is exactly what a grill should be: simple and satisfying. The service was fast, the food was good, and the atmosphere is nice. I will warn that it seems to attract a lot of older men who like to talk big and have trucks that give away just how small their confidence actually is.
