Bayleafs Sunday Buffet Went to try it, but what made it worse was the customer service. First, the staff said, Yes, please have a seat, and mentioned they were almost out of starters, skip starters, we said, and he agreed. After seating us and dealing with other customers, he came back and said, Oh, sorry, we closed it. Never happened to me before, It was a disappointing experience this time because of the lack of transparency and poor customer service.

I ordered the Navratan Korma ( vegetables in a creamy cashew sauce) and the traditional Naan bread. The waiter brought a crispy chip shaped like a disk and dipping sauce to start and also gave me a vegetable fritter on the house. The flavours were outstanding and the portions generous ( I took some home for another dinner) . The waitstaff were very friendly and efficient. I found the prices to be very reasonable. I will be returning for another meal! Vegetarian options: There are so many vegetarian options! Kid-friendliness: There were families with children of all ages enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and food. The wait staff seem to enjoy the children and interact with them!

On our way to Fernie, we found this pleasant surprise! We received a warm welcome by Sagar, our host and were seated immediately. Atmosphere- very spacious and open concept seating arrangement where you dont have to walk over another person to reach your table. Food- exceptionally good!! We ordered masala chai and tangdi kebab to start with. Dont want to stereotype, but how can you not have momos at a Nepalese restaurant!! Sugar suggested to try the chilli momos and we are so thankful to him for this. It was so delicious. Tangdi kebabs were tender, juicy and full of flavors. Big portions as well Service- cannot say enough good things about the service provided and the warmth. We are already planning to attend their Sunday dinner buffet to try all the dishes!

Hands down the best Indian/Nepolese Ive had since I moved from London, UK. The food has so much depth of flavour, as if the marinade has been marinaded. The service is as exceptional as the food. I now have a reason to come to Cranbrook.

I visited this restaurant yesterday, and the experience was fantastic. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend dining here.

The food was really good but it was Garima that went out of her way to be helpful as I was out of town. Both times with my take order, i was surprised by a small dessert! I ended up going there 3 times because of the service!!!

I am writing this as we were very happy with the service provided. We were there making a stop over in Cranbrook and are originally from Alberta. Had dinner there couple of days. My husband had an issue with the chicken the first day. However, the server, was so so polite and accomodating that it almost made us forget we didnt like something. The next day we actually ordered because of the fact that we were really happy with the service that that nice gentleman provided. He went beyond and added a bowl of kheer on the house with the take out order as he remembered we did not like the chicken platter a day before. Rest all the food items were good. Its just somethings makes you go back to a place and this reason was that for us. Thank you

I have eaten here before and the food was really good, but this time there was something off. The samosas were dripping in oil, and the Chana fry wasn t like it should taste like. And then I was up all night in the bathroom. The food kicked off what was not a good night. I doubt I will go back.

Ate dinner here while staying at the Days Inn. So convenient to have dinner attached to the hotel youre staying in, AND have it be a great restaurant! The food was incredible, so flavorful and delicious! Our servers were very kind, highly attentive (they paid attention to our constant need for water refills after exercising all day), and answered our questions perfectly. For 3 adults, we shared 2 main course dishes, shared naan, and ended up getting 2 orders of basmati rice. When we asked, the server said one side order of rice can typically feed 2 people. We had some rice left over but we ate the 2 main courses. Everything was delicious, would absolutely eat here again! They had a dinner buffet available, which included quite a few dishes. The price was $25/person.

Just cant figure out how this place got a 4.9 rating. Really? I think I was in a totally different restaurant but, I wasnt. I hate when I order an appetizer but tell them its my meal and they dont listen and bring it right away. Then when I received the appetizer ( shrimp pakora for $14.99) I get 5 small battered shrimp. I did complain, he said he would bring more so then I got 3 tiny deepfried shrimp-not pakora. Serving size very small, no rice had to pay extra for Naan bread. Dont recommend. Save your money.

Food was amazing overall. I like spicy food and this place does it well. Indo-Chinese and Punjabi food, both great. They made good non-spicy food with vegetables for kids too. Shout out to Garima, the server. She was a quick, checked in regularly and took great care of our family. Highly recommend this place.

Exceptional in every way!!! The food was absolutely delicious, with the potions being quite generous. The service was phenomenal, as the servers went above and beyond to ensure we knew what we were ordering and even giving us samples to try beforehand. The prices, lastly, were extremely modest for the exceptional quality of the food and service. Easily the best Indian restaurant I have eaten at. Would return to Cranbrook from the U.S. just to eat here again!

Great experience! Staff is very helpful with recommendations on dishes since we are not familiar with Indian Cusine. Didnt feel rushed at all. Tried momos (Nepali dumplins) a nd fantastic rice pudding for desert. Everything was excellent! Would highly recommend.

OK. I know its Cranbrook, but this was very below average food with not so great service. Server dropped off plate and napkin. Someone else brought food. I had to flag someone down for water. I was disappointed because I am in Cranbrook for a week and was hoping for some good Indian food. I have had really good food in small places before. Maybe it was just an off night for them ?

We had a girls lunch that was so lovely. The server was friendly and helpful and the food was sooooo good. We love the flavours and variety of dishes they offer. The chef came to our table and asked if we enjoyed our meals and gave us a small dessert. We felt truly welcome

Cranbrook you have a real gem here!!! The chef fuses Nepalese an familiar Indian dishes with mastery of spices. Sauce smooth. Saffron rice unlike any before..the garlic and cilantro Naan was terrific. My server prepared her first gin and tonic forme.. she was very new and really added a positivity to the experience

We had an amazing time at Bayleaf Restaurant in Cranbrook, BC! The standout was definitely the steward super friendly and incredibly helpful. Garima made choosing from the menu so easy with her great suggestions and was always checking in to make sure everything was perfect. The food? Delicious and served up really quickly. The flavors were spot on, and you could tell everything was made with care. If youre in Cranbrook, you have to check out Bayleaf. The food is great, but the friendly and attentive service makes it truly special.

Some of the best Indian Ive had, the chef brought us a sample of their signature Nepalese momos and they were amazing.

We were passing by Cranbrook and decided to stop at Bayleaf. We ordered Chicken Lababdar, Bayleaf Special Curry, naan, garlic cilantro naan, and rice. The food was delicious, especially the Chicken Lababdar. The chef was so kind and gave us free appetizers and desserts. He also interacted with us about the food and was very polite. We will definitely stop by Bayleaf the next time we are passing through Cranbrook. We had a great experience.

At first when I saw this place was 4.9, I thought that is very high, must be good. I leave thinking 4.9 is low and wondering how anybody ever gave it under a full 5. Butter chicken is my favorite dish, I have had it everywhere. This was the best BC I remember having. Add the fact that the service was phenomenal, the restaurant is clean, amazing and authentic. The waitress were there and the coin comes out to make sure everybody is happy, but I have a feeling he just knows everyone is. Best restaurant Ive been in Cranbrook and just what a surprise this was. If you like Indian or Butter Chicken. Great place to post up even at the bar and have a King Fisher and great dinner. Thanks for the experience.

This was our first time eating at Bay Leaf Infusion, and it definitely won t be our last! We consider ourselves seasoned foodies of authentic Indian cuisine, (which is an incredibly diverse and complex cuisine to begin with) so when our dishes arrived in traditional Karahi serving bowls, we knew we were in for a treat. Every mouthful had depth, distinction, and the combination of spices achieved the intricate flavor, for the dish prepared! The servers were lovely and so friendly, which only added to our culinary experience. Thank you Bay Leaf Infusion, we will see you again soon!!

Delicious! I ordered chicken tikka masala, and naan, for carry-out. It was all really good. One surprise: I didn t realize (from ordering online) that rice had to be ordered separately. The tikka masala would have been better w basmati rice.

Update: They make momos now!!! They are so good! I tried them all! The tomato cause ones were my favourite and my husband loved the chili. The jhol momos were also delicious! And the portion is good! I am so impressed. Great flavors! Everything we ordered was good. Deserves the high rating. My husbands favourite was the kadhai fry and my favourite was the dal fry. Hope they will add Nepali momos to the menu. Lots more stuff we want to try.

After so long time got a taste of Indian street food. Love this , great food, great service, 100% recommendation

Food was great, portions were perfect for 2 people. Dont listen to these wankster haters, theyre idiots that dont know anything about eating Indian food. You wont be disappointed. They probably say small portions because theres a lot of sauce to chicken in the butter chicken. Thats why you need to order rice and naan with it. Pour the sauce over the rice, clean the plate with naan. Had the butter chicken, grilled paprika tikka, garlic naan. All very nice. Butter chicken doesnt come with rice, the same as 90% of the other Indian food places. Buy a thing of rice for the delicious sauce and figure it out.

$16 for a bowl of butter chicken that had more sauce then chicken and no rice? Since when do you get butter chicken without rice? Only place Ive ever got it without rice! The nan bread was soggy $3.99. And a pick up order to not even come with utensils or ask if I needed some. Good thing I had that nan bread.

I cant say enough about their food. Menu items are cooked to perfection with exciting flavours that make leftovers hard to keep!

Wow just wow! The food and the people were excellent! I walked in and wondered if it was going to be good based on the restaurants plain style but don t let the decor fool you. Chef Tam came out and introduced himself. Both of the servers were really nice and attentive. And the best part was the food! I will be back!

Just experienced one of the best Indian style meals EVER. I had Vindaloo with chicken and I went with the hot choice. The flavors explode with each bite. Chef Tam is very passionate about his craft, and it shows. He visited our table and chatted with us. The service staff was amazing. The knowledge of the menu items made it easy to make a choice, or recommend something. The decor was BRIGHTER then I was expecting. The green was unexpected, but did not detract from my experience.

Made another trip to Bayleaf and treat myself with great punch of flavourful and super delicious meal. Normally order lamb korma or lamb lababdar (medium spice) with saffron rice and my goodness it is sheer heaven I just cant get enough and I look forward to my leftover the next day which is equally delicious after the meat soak up all the spices and flavour. Staff is also pretty amazing and Yash is just wonderful! Thank you Bayleaf!

I m of east - indian heritage and a foodie. The food quality is phenomenal and would rival any top Asian restaurant in Toronto, Vancouver or London. Exquisite use of spice and heat. Each sauce bright and vibrant along side succulent meat and vegetarian dishes. The chef is incredibly humble. He used to work on super yachts for the Walton family and Steve Winn s yacht Kaoas !! We had a mixture of dishes notably Palak paneer, lamb Rogan josh ( amazing) and chicken Tika( melt in the mouth ). There is also the Bay leaf in Creston but lead chef and owner lives in Cranbrook. Our waiter of Indian heritage was very responsive and made sure our dietary sensitivities were accommodated. Don t miss out on the Bay Leaf you ll be rewarded with some of the finest meals.

Friends had a bday dinner for 13 people this evening. Service was perfect, and the food was incredible. The chef even came out to sing happy birthday with the staff. You won t regret coming here. Spot on!

Food was great and well priced and the waitress was timely and asked about allergies (which never happens) and made sure the items didnt have any of them. Lost two stars on atmosphere because of what ever they are using to sent the air was WAY to strong and made it a bit difficult to breath with my asthmatic lungs.

It often surprises me in a good way when you come to a smaller place like Cranbrook and try an Indian restaurant that is absolutely top quality. Such is the case with Bay Leaf: Lovely friendly staff, a nice menu, dishes that have all the richness and flavourful subtlety of a top Indian restaurant, and an experience you walk away from delighted. Even the music was pleasant! Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: A full range of vegetarian Indian dishes on the menu. Try the Vegetable Navaratan Korma and Paneer Butter Masala. Yum! Parking: Right outside the restaurant as part of the hotel it is attached to and lots of parking spots. Easy! Wheelchair accessibility: It would be easy to bring a wheelchair in and have a table to be sitting at from a wheelchair.

Our take out dinner of two medium curries had one that was very hot and considerably hotter than medium. I phoned to bring this to their attention and was pleasantly surprised when they agreed to replace the hot curry with a medium one and deliver it to our home so that we didn t have to go out again. First time trying their food and its the real deal, perfect Naan, tender chicken, flavourful rice. A must-try if youre craving Indian cuisine.

Very tasty food. The service was very pleasant. Homemade samosas were very tasty. If you want closer to authentic spice go hot. Kids meals available. My son gave it 5 stars. Staying at the Days Inn, we looked on Google Maps for a well rated restaurant and were delighted to see one right in the building! The Indian food was top notch and a reasonably good value for the price. For starters we shared samosas, which were near perfect! For main course I had the Saag (spinach dish) with lamb, saffron rice, and naan bread. Excellent taste & quality. My dinner guest said he also thoroughly enjoyed his dinner too. Friendly, helpful servers who took a few minutes to chat with us. When we asked if we could eat outside, they promptly prepared and sat us at a patio table. The decor is quite basic. But menu sure isn t. It has quite a good selection. A very positive Indian dining experience!

We ordered the lamb korma and mango chicken and it was so sweet we couldn t finish it. Korma is not supposed sweet like dessert. We want this restaurant to well and that s why we re giving our feedback

Cranbrook you have a killer restaurant right here in your own town! I wish I lived closer. Now 65, I m a missionary kid that grew up in south central India, so I think I m pretty good at tasting authenticity when it comes to curry/spices. Although the owners are Nepalese (a totally different country and Gov t) the food my wife and I ate tonight brought memories back to the village food I and my brothers loved. I think anything you order will be pukka (google it). Highly recommended!

I loved it! Kids enjoyed it as well. Chef Tamu came by to chat with us and the staff were incredibly warm and friendly.

Recommended by family while we were visiting Cranbrook. We really enjoyed our food (the special curry and the birayani) and were delighted with the Nepali momo dumplings, a dish new to us. The service was also great. Friendly, helpful and timely. No hesitation to recommend the Bay Leaf to others.

Out of the two East Indian restaurants in town, this one is by far the better experience in every way We never knew bay leaf was in town so we went to the one near Safeway out of desperation as we love our Indian food, but we ALWAYS felt unwelcome by rude, inattentive and judgmental staff and that the food wasn t great quality at all and on top of it, really expensive. Bayleaf was a pleasant surprise and not only were the staff so kind and friendly, the food amazing and much cleaner tasting, but the price was so much more reasonable and we were able to order more than we typically do for a substantially lower price point. I m sooo happy we stumbled upon this resto and found them. Their veggie curry was my fave! Then the lamb masala For desert the mango Lassi was soooo gooooood!

Wonderful food and service! We were a group of sixteen people celebrating a birthday yet despite the size of our group, the staff, owner and cooks were excellent! Our food was hot and delicious, and the owner brought out a free dessert sample for everyone in our party AS WELL as a piece of birthday cheesecake for the birthday girl and an enthusiastic round of happy birthday was sung by all the staff. Whether you live in Cranbrook, or are just passing thru, I highly recommend eating here!!

This has to be the best Indian food I have ever had. We were so pleased with the food and the excellent service. We will definitely be going back the next time we are in Cranbrook. Highly recommended.

Really, really, really delicious! We had the coconut mango chicken, veggie korma, and the cilantro and garlic naan. We had our baby with us, and wanted her to try Indian food, so the waitress suggested their house hot sauce on the side WOW, the hot sauce is SPECTACULAR, and was such a good way to adjust our heat levels. Nishayla was a great server and very understanding of all our needs/requests with our mini. If you re looking for fancy, it isn t it; but if you re looking for really good Indian, it s the place!

I m the fussiest eater ever and I throughly enjoyed my meal at the restaurant. Not 100% what I had but it was delicious. The service was even better than the food. Cutest little server was so pleasant.

This place is an absolute gem. I was driving all day and was expecting to eat some late night fast food slop but Bay Leaf was open til 10pm. Had a lamb curry dish recommended by the server. It was phenomenal, with leftovers for tomorrow. Glad I held out for the good food! Server was really polite and accommodating too

I went to bayleaf today with my friends and we ordered fried rice, tikka masala and some naan and it really amazing. Aside from the food being amazing we also received the best customer service from our server Dipjoti today and other day Nishyala was really awesome as well. I highly recommend this place.

My wife and I had supper there on Sept. 16th 2023. Arrived around 5:30. Service was prompt and polite. Restaurant appeared clean and there were 4-5 other tables seated. We ordered saffron rice, garlic cilantro naan, Chana fry (Masala) and Mango coconut chicken. Food came out quick and hot. All the dishes were excellent- especially the Mango coconut dish. Very flavorful and a nice sweet creamy balance to the spicy Chana Masala. We ordered medium heat which was good for our average western tastebuds. We will definitely return and bring friends next time! Highly recommend to all.

This was the best Indian food I have ever eaten. It was beyond amazing! I cannot believe I didnt know about this restaurant and have not eaten here yet. The service was also outstanding. We could not have asked for a better experience. I cant wait to go back.

I am so blown away by the bayleaf Sunday buffet. We just went with our three boys and I didnt even know two of my three kids would be free. It costed our family of 5 less than 72$ and we ate so much amazing food. The food was so fresh, the service was unbelievable. They helped the kids load up plate after plate and brought out fresh samples of garlic Naan . We will be back over and over.

We went in for the new Sunday Night Buffet and were NOT disappointed! What a quality meal, with a huge variety which changes each week! A wonderful way to spend an evening with loved ones, with flavours from all over. This is not one to be missed!

First time eating here since Bayleaf opened. Absolutely floored by how good the food was. Truly authentic Indian cuisine, the flavors and spices used stand out with each bite rather than being muted or covered with other seasonings. The prices are very reasonable too and the service staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the chef(s) know their stuff. If you havent eaten here yet, please go and try it, you wont regret it. Vegetarian options: There is a section of the menu for vegetarian dishes.

one of the most wonderful, well handled resturants ive ever been too, they have great service and they will take care of all of your food needs. the atmosphere was amazing, they seemed like they cared about what your needs are and they are very very nice, well rounded people. very delicious food, and comes fast.

I have visited tons of casual dining restaurants in BC but I am delighted to mention that i have received best service here. It was so amazing to see how the chefs were serving the food. Tam and Dalip were such amazing people to serve me. They were so friendly and nice. I would definitely come back just for the service they are providing to their guests!!!!

My bf and I ate here last night while we stayed at the Days Inn. The food here is incredible and the owner/chef is very friendly and welcoming. 100% recommend this place. Since we are traveling we only tried the mild spice, but next time Id like to try the medium spice. We got butter chicken and lamb.

We had a party of twelve for an anniversary dinner. The food and service were absolutely wonderful. I have eaten this type of food in lots of fancier restaurants but this is by far the best of any. We attended the buffet dinner on Sunday and once again the food, service and personal attention given by the chef to all the customers sets a high standard for any restaurant to match

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Bayleaf! The food was incredible, and the spice level was perfect. Our server, Simran was awesome and very attentive! Well definitely be back again. :)

In the beginning they were good at taste and quantity but now cheap out in quantity big time considering the price increase in every item. I must count this one star for their taste that s been still preserved. Not going there again though.

Amazing find in a hotel. Days Inns are certainly not known for their food but this restaurant really delivers on flavour and service! Some of the best Indian cuisine I have had in Canada and I am from a larger city. Top notch. The lighting could be much dimmer and the music a shade quieter but I am sensitive to those things so most may not notice.

This was as authentic flavors as I have experienced. A very broad menu, as well. Definitely a repeat.
