Had a great relaxed low key dinner The food was fantastic, great flavour. Next time Ill move up to a 2 on the spicy scale. Service from Kyla was fast and friendly, and it was a nice touch that the owner also came out to make sure everything was perfect.

Favorite place in town, friendly staff and if you love spice, they got you covered.

Had the Green Curry and shared it with my husband. It tasted great going in, not so much coming out. Driving back home with writhing gut pain, from a sports tournament and vomiting with kids in the car the next day.... pure torture.....Definitely yummy just not so nice on the tummy :( The service was really good but not worth the pain.

They were call screening half hour before close. Not cool.

Word of caution: Take their spice levels seriously. We like spicy food and a level 2 is HOT. Level 3 would be way too much for us tread lightly.

I came here based on the reviews the staff were friendly but the food was not the greatest it was lacking flavor and very poorly plated I would not recommend unless they update there menu options, over priced for what I got.

Wife and I both got the Pad Thai, which was amazing. The kids got something different and their meals were great too. My favorite part of the meal was the sticky rice with mango. Waited was very attentive to our needs.

Wow! We were passing through Cranbrook last week and we thought we would take a chance on this local restaurant. My wife and I have enjoyed Thai food all over the world and this place is an amazing gem. The server was fast, attentive and fun and the owner and chef were top notch. The food was just like what you would expect from the best Thai restaurant. The owner mentioned that sometimes they make a home made peanut sauce, and use it in a swimming angel dish. Based on how good everything tasted I would say make it a regular on your menu! Thanks for a GREAT meal.

Fine find in the Canadian Rockies. Complete selection of traditional Thai recipes. The Mango Sticky Rice with coconut sauce topped off our meals. Recommend when in Cranbrook.

I have no idea how this place has recieved 1 star reviews!! The food is outstanding to say the least and the service is not only prompt but also genuinely friendly. This is our second time here and it will definitely not be our last. As we drove in from out of town today Family Thai Restaurant was the one place we both could not get out of our minds. Kudos to everyone involved in bringing this much needed gem to town.

Authentic and excellent Thai food. My husband couldnt stop raving about his curry dish. Weve eaten at many different Thai restaurants. This is one of our best. Everything we ordered was delicious.

It was great. Its very tasty, authentic Thai food, a large selection of dishes and even dish pictures which is making it easy to choose even for people who dont know much about Thai cuisine. They are true professionals. The staff is very polite, helpful and attentive, they really care about their customers. As soon as you sit down, they immediately bring you a glass of water. Waiting time is minimal - I got appetizers in 10-15 minutes and main courses in another 10 minutes. We ordered iced tea, egg rolls, pad thai and drinken noodles. It was a little spicy for me(my fault), seeing my suffering, the waiter immediately brought me some ice water and sauce to dilute the spiciness of the noodles. If you dont really like spicy food - ask for 0 or 1 out of 5 spices. I liked everything very much, it was an amazing experience. This is truly a restaurant that is hard to forget.

The food here is worthy of a marriage proposal to the chef!!!! Take the heat settings seriously. I like spicy food, and the level 1 spice is just enough. The green curry will make you a better person! For a person who travels quite a bit, this food is not overladen with salt, which my cardiovascular health thanks this restaurant for!. Ill be back every time Im in Cranbrook

Small thai place. Excellent thai ice tea!

I am so annoyed they call themselves a Thai restaurant that I have to write a review. Being living in many parts of Thailand and trying Thai restaurant across plenty of big and small cities, this place is objectively the worst. It is a shame that they call it Thai. The menu has absolutely no resemblance of the actual food presented. It is almost like ordering a steak and a clown was put on the table. Its not right and hope people who care wont put up with this.

Do not recommend it. Actually, the food I ordered was more like a Chinese stir-fry rather than traditional Thai cuisine, and it didnt taste well even though I tried to view it as a stir-fried pork with vegetables. But the Thai Iced Tea here is quite authentic I think.

The owners are wonderful people, and incredibly friendly. I highly recommend the Pad Thai with Tamarind, and the spring rolls. So good!!

Food is fairly traditional and great flavor, the service was ok considering the amount of patrons but the price was a bit high. The quality of the food was a huge seller but the other parts made us think about if I would return soon

There are no options for kids... the food we did get did not taste good... the worst part was that we ordered one dish that was super bad and could not even eat it. We asked if they could remove it or exchange it for something else and they said NO. We eat out 4-5 times a week and will definitely not be returning

So this is the place for thai and great service. Food is always piping hot and not smothered in bland sauce. You can see the veg and the meat. Its good size portions as well. Owners are super nice people and approachable and kind. Its often busy during peak rush and well worth the price which is incredibly reasonable.

A small place, but very welcoming as you enter. Staff are friendly and helpful. The menu has a good selection and you can pick your own variations of hotness which is a bonus. I asked for mine to be hot as I like a good bit of spice, the waitress checked with me that i wanted hot. I got the impression not a lot of people go as high as i did.

Portions are on the average side, and it is a bit expensive, but the recipes are very good. The week that we stayed in Cranbrook we ate here three times. One of the better Thai restaurants Ive been to.

The reason I give this place a one star is due to service. Food is not bad. It is on par with any above average Thai restaurant...3.5 star. The waitress they hired has a terrible attitude. We were passing through Cranbrook at dinner time and picked this restaurant. They had 2 tables of 6-8 people and another table of 2. There were 2 empty tables of 4 and 3 empty tables of 2. We were a party of 6. She didn t know how to seat us and looked at us as if we were trouble makers. She put us on a table for 4 and told us to squeeze. We told her that won t work. She replied too bad you didn t have a reservation . We suggested to combine the table for 2 right next to us. She reluctantly moved it and bang the tables together. We had to move the chairs ourselves. Next, she never asked us about drinks and never came by to take our orders. We had to haul her to get her to serve us. She didn t even try to let us know that none of the specials on the menu is available. She brought out 5 plates knowing we have a party of 6. She threw the bill on our table. We put a card out. And she threw us the card reader and left it to us to deal with the transaction. This waitress does not know how to properly do her job. She has negatively represented this restaurant. The restaurant owner/manager could use some training or look for someone else.

The cute little Thai lady was super friendly, and the green curry was SO f-ing good.

The people at Family Thai were lovely, but unfortunately the food was not. My sister had a decent stir-fry, but my green curry didnt have any flavour at all and neither did my coconut rice. I dont think Ill be going back.

Was really busy when we arrived, and had to wait a bit to get a seat, but it was worth the wait. Great food, GREAT FOOD, only tried the chef recommended picks from the menu and were not disappointed. Finished it off with the deep fried bananas (sounds weird I know, and Im not a fan of bananas), and it was one of the best desserts Ive had anywhere.

Awesome authentic food. Always deliciously prepared fresh. The Drunken noodle is our familys favourite. Pad Thai prepared in two ways, our kids like the one with tomato sauce and we like the authentic tamarind sauce. Great selection of beers too.
