Great food

My wife enjoyed her breakfast, i had fish and chips and unfortunately they where heavily oil soaked, and I think the batter was too thick as there seemed to be a thick layer of pasty substance between the outer cripy layer of the fish and the fish it self, I ate my meal and mentioned it to our server who didnt seem to really care. The restaurant was also packed and felt over crowded aswell as it feeling understaffed on the front of house side of things. Might go back and try breakfast myself, or might just throw in the towel.

Great experience! I had thai red curry and it was very flavorful. The portions are large and the service was good.

We decided to try their dinner menu as their breakfast and lunch is fantastic. I had the Souvlaki and Marty had the Chicken Thai bowl. The food was absolutely amazing. Recommend this restaurant 100%

Wow. The menu is very good. Need about 60 more trips to try the various dishes. Watch out for the bread pudding. It is as good as what my Grandmother used to make. Just had the lamb souvlaki. Wow. The meat bursting with flavor, juicy and tender. The beets tasted like real beets. The carrot tasted like fresh from the garden. The asperigus was tender and tasty. The best I have ever had. Not sure I will be able get myself to have anything else for a while. It was so wonderful I forgot to get my take home order of their spectacular French toast. Oh well there is all was an other day . The desserts look fantastic maybe I will have to make a special tip for desserts. Very filling meal. Dietary restrictions: Allergy to celery if I let them know the day before they make a soup with out celery Wheelchair accessibility: Help is needed with the doors but friends in electrical wheelchairs have dined there able to pull right up to the table and eat in comfort.

This is a cute little place with very kind staff, the drinks are awesome and the building is cozy, and has lots of food on the menu! Love it :) Parking: We had to walk a bit, but it s long weekend so parking may be better other times. Kid-friendliness: Has a kid menu with smaller portions if it s to big.

Very cute hole in the wall restaurant with good food. Waitress and chef got our order specifications just right and the food came out at a reasonable time. Only complaint was regarding the chocolate milk. $5 for a glass and they didn t even serve actual chocolate milk, rather it was regular milk with the cheap syrup. Everything else was priced really well for the portion size given, so I don t understand charging the price of a 4L jug of chocolate milk to not even serve the actual thing

Just tried the veggie skillet, and it s awesome. It s not easy to find such satisfying veg options, but this one hit the spot perfectly. Wow! Perfectly cooked eggs with crispy hash browns. Delicious! Unique french toast using banana bread. Our hotel recommended them, and so glad we came.

We waited a long time to be seated, we were not allowed to join tables, it took a long time to clean the tables. The restaurant is small and crowded for the amount of people there. Waited a long time for the dishes, the waitresses could not cope with the rush in the restaurant. The Belgian waffle and pancakes were dry. There is only filter coffee in the place.

Milkshake isn t creamy, tasted like chocolate milk with ice. Coco pancakes were huge so at least kids able to eat them with fruits. Benny with prosciutto and beet paste was disappointed to me, or maybe because I tried better one elsewhere so here was not impressive, waffle was very dry and crumbly. It s overpriced for non tasty breakfast.

The food was delicious with great service and atmosphere. The restaurant was busy and we had to wait a bit longer but it was worth waiting. Will definitely come again

Dont eat here if you have more than 4 people. Let us wait outside in the rain for 20 minutes before telling us we wouldnt be seated.

Fantastic Food

What a nice little local joint. The food was great, pricing was excellent, and service was quick. They were busy, but our breakfast came fast and just what we ordered. While we decided just to focus on our breakfast, the free bowl of soup offered with every meal is a nice touch!

Place looks good, service was okay. Nobody checked on me until I was almost done. Scrambled eggs were not cooked, bacon overcooked. Toast had maybe half enough butter to coat the bread. Disappointing

Service is great, visiting in cranbrook and stopped in twice. They offer a cup of complimentary soup, both times I ended up paying for another bowl because it was SO good. My mom is celiac (gluten free) and the server was great about it and worked with the kitchen staff to make something that would work for her. This is very meaningful to me as it s hard for her to dine in restaurants she s not familiar with.

I really enjoyed the complimentary soup. I was surprised at the size of their menu. Its hard to do a good job at so many things. I tried the crab cake eggs benny. Unfortunately a major disappointment. They just emptied some canned crab onto the bagel. It was soggy and tasteless. Other people at the table seemed to enjoy their food so definitely hit or miss.

Im quite sure the best eggs Benny I ve ever had. Our waitress Jen was friendly and helpful, loved it so much and will be back !!!

Baker 89 does not disappoint! So much to choose from on their unique menu. Ive tried something different each time Ive gone and it is all very yummy.Today was Baker 89 omelet-so tasty! Top notch service as well.

Thick cut bacon cooked perfectly. That in itself is worthy of 5 stars. Went on free soup sample day, the roasted squash soup was excellent, great touch on the spices, would go back just for the soup. Best breakfast in Cranbrook.

Huge portions. We got a sneak preview of the dinner menu. Theyve got their liquor license and are hoping to open for dinner hours starting at the end of June. We were so excited about this We forgot to take a picture before we all attacked it. Its tasted better than it smelled. Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating for any need or preference. Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accommodated.

We had their special lamb shank with mash potatoes and vegetables, and apple struddel. The lamb was soft, mash potatoes very creamy and vegetables had the right consistency. Apple struddel was delicious and t had the right sweetness. Would highly recommend this place.

Cute, busy place with excellent food. We had to wait a very long time for the food but it sure was delicious!

Waffle was terrible, absolutely rock hard, dried out and crumbly. It s also a single waffle with some blueberries, 6 slices of banana and grapes for $14.00. The omelette was good but the toast that accompanied it was the thinnest sliced bread and it tasted stale and was so dry it crumbled like a cracker. When we brought forward our concerns it was met with resistance and zero cares that the food was less than edible a very awkward exchange. Definitely will not be back.

Their menu is so big that youll for sure find what you want. The server lady was on top of topping off our coffees, and the Salmon Benny I ordered was so good! Was a great experience.

This review was for the Cottage which has closed forever. Very sad. Have no idea what the restaurant that is now in this location is like. Great home cooked lunches and breakfast all day! Can get busy at lunch so be early or come after 12:50 or so. Sandwiches are huge but 1/2 orders are available or share with someone. Cabbage rolls with Pierogis, Hot Beef w/gravy, Turkey Club are my favourites!

Its a very nice place for breakfast. They offer all day breakfast menu which has various options for any taste and kids menu. Complimentary soup of the day was delicious. High chairs and changing table available.

Great breakfast! We had blueberry pancakes and the fruit waffle and both were excellent.

This restaurant must have changed hands since the last time we visited Cranbrook as the sweet decor and charm it had on our first visit is now gone. The walls are completely bare of any decorations which gives it an overall odd atmosphere. While the waitress was very friendly we found the service could have been better. We had to ask for things multiple times before she would follow through and the other waitress seemed like she was in a constant tizzy. The cook needs to learn what the menu items are as well since we were missing an egg from our order. The food was delicious though and served in a timely manner. Be warned - it is very hot in the restaurant! I am normally freezing everywhere so if I found it hot, its pretty bad. Im on the fence if we would eat here again.

I hate giving low reviews. However I was so disappointed. We were there about a month ago... and unfortunately the worst breakfast I have ever had been served in a restaurant. We waited for over an hour to get our food, and it came out completely wrong . My eggs were so under cooked , the whites were runny . And my husbands omelet didnt have the ingredients he ordered in there...was so plain ... will absolutely never be back . Sorry:(

Love it here, every time I come to visit my freinds here in Cranbrook they take me here. The bread is amazing on everything, home made buns too. Everything taste like it was cooked with love by a very caring granny, and the atmosphere of the small space feels like Im at granmas house too. And awsome milkshakes if your in Cranbrook dont pass them by!

Best place for fresh sandwiches and homemade soup!

Werent sure where to stop, looked at some reviews online and decided with The Cottage, we werent disappointed. Our server was polite and did a great job and the food was delicious with large portions. Even walked out with a delicious cinnamon bun to go. A must go to, even for a Monday afternoon it was busy.

Lots of odd decor on the walls. Otherwise I had an awful experience. Service was almost non existent. My food was awful. I was really excited about the cheese perogies. What I got was undercooked, had almost no filling or seasoning, and was basically giant ravioli. The coffee was pretty bad as well.

The Cottage has a homely feel about it, had a nice menu, and the service was fine. The food was disappointing - for example the hash browns were like thinly fried mash potato (dry and powdery), the scrambled eggs were like a very thin omelette, the bacon had little flavour and looked deep fried, and the home made bread didnt seem very fresh. To be fair this is only based on one experience but enough items were substandard that a return visit is unlikely.

This place is cute but busy. The atmosphere is fantastic and the server was friendly. The only downside was the food. I ordered the cabbage roll and perogies and all I got was two mostly dough filled with very little bit of potato. The 1 cabbage was good but the sauce they put on top was horrible. Just a hint tomato soup as the sauce works the best not pizza sauce and this plate was missing the Ukrainian sauage. The price was expensive for what you get.

...Not a good food experience. I was hungry, so I ordered a salad, which said on the menu, that it came with a chicken breast - which was a lie. It came with 5 slices (not large) of processed chicken; which was tasteless. (ich!) I do my best to avoid processed food; so I do not eat processed food - ever. The salad itself was mostly lettuce, with some pieces of celery, & looong slices of green pepper, & white onion, that would hang down my chin, because it all was too awkward to cut...& on a tooo small plate. On the side, were 3 half slices of tomato & a row of cucumber. I dont usually eat gn peppers, wh onion, cucumber or celery...I have much more imagination than that. This was the sloppiest, blandest, most unimaginative salad I ever ate! I could have bought 3 or 4 heads of lettuce, for the price I paid for this salad ($12.99)...& gone home & made myself something faaar more imaginative & faaar more filling. This would have been a major rip off, if the boss hadnt been nice enuf to not charge me.

The Cottage is one of those little gems you just happen upon, one that youll keep coming back to. When entering you are greeted with a pleasant smile a hello or welcome back. The walls are adorned with old memorabilia from pictures to nick nacks. The faire is plentiful, delicious and reasonable. Breakfast is served all day, because who said you cant eat bacon and eggs for lunch. So when in Cranbrook and your hungry go to the Cottage.

All home made and amazing food! Best bang for your buck annnnd the staff was very friendly. We had burgers, which were on homemade whole wheat buns, home fries and gravy and the take home cinnamon bun was to die for!!!

Quaint little restaurant in Cranbrook. They do a great all day breakfast, the burgers are really tasty, and the sandwiches come loaded on homemade bread. Service isnt always speedy but the decor will keep you entertained while you wait! This is a great alternative to a chain restaurant.

I traveled up to Cranbrook to purchase a vehicle from Spring Honda. While I was waiting for it to get detailed I was recommended to go for lunch here by the staff at Spring Honda. And Im so glad I did.. the service was excellent and the food was amazing. Love supporting little local restaurants when I travel!
