Great sushi and great value! Good menu options, and freshly made sushi.

Came to eat with my husband. Food was amazing, the server was fantastic! She was kind, attentive and just all around wonderful to deal with.

Had a rice bowl. It was pretty good!

Best Sushi Ive ever had. Im from Victoria BC. Tell the gal who dropped the f bomb in the background when we called, that swearing when someone wants delivery is super unprofessional. We gave a big tip regardless

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The sushi was amazing! We ended up ordering more after demolishing all our food. We did go all out therefore we paid $88 for two people including alcohol. We will now be regulars here Food

Probably the worst sushi restaurant we have been in BC. We came with two kids and we did not like the following about the food: the kids menus chicken was cold and looked cooked days ago, the gomaes color was brown-ish and did not seem fresh (8$ - we expected more), the miso soup was watery (definitely without bonito base), the salad had *a lot* of dressing, portions were small-ish. Fish was fresh and tasty and that deserves two stars in and on itself. Finally, the bathroom was not clean, with some sticky slime on the floor. A changing table would have also been really helpful for us but none was present. Kid-friendliness: Bathroom definitely not adequate to change small babies. No learning chopsticks available.

I am not one to make reviews but I would like to help out others. Not once, not twice, but THREE times, they mess up my order. Not only did they mess up but the quality of the food is so sub par to Sakura (the other place in town). This go around they gave us 2 small packs a soyasauce for a dynamite roll, rice, and 8 piece nigiri. On top of that the rice to crab portion in the roll is always absurdly bad. The portion is VERY small. $4 miso soup and you get about 1/2 cups worth. No. Chopsticks or utensils but luckily we are at home. Never have we gotten sauce on a dynamite roll anywhere but they put some on theirs and don t say that in the description. This was the 3rd time in a row our order has been like this, we (me and my wife) tried supporting local but not this place again.

Beautiful Atmosphere!

My friend, granddaughter and husband said their sushi was very good. They had spicy california, dragon (i think it was called), special vegetable and a tofu one I had the 10 piece tempura starter. Was lovely. For a main I chose the chicken teriyaki rice bowl. I deducted 1 star because the chicken was coated/breaded. It made the chicken hard. I would have preferred just seasoned chicken breast. And, I ordered coffee that tasted like it had been microwaved. My fault for ordering coffee from a sushi restaurant . No stars deducted for that. Staff was friendly and attentive. Im not a sushi fan so based on rhe teriyaki bowl I would say not again. Based on the sushi and how my friend, husband and granddaughter enjoyed their meals it would be a resounding yes. So, if you dine with non sushi lovers Id say pass. Sushi lovers, go forth and enjoy!!

The sushi itself is pretty good, but its fairly expensive, portions are a bit smaller than what you get in other cities, and I think they forgot wasabi and ginger in my order (or maybe they charge extra for it?). Best sushi I found in Cranbrook, though - tasty!

We LOVE sushi on the strip its our go to place staff, food and atmosphere Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options and they will make anything you want essentially Kid-friendliness: My kids love the mango juice and deep fried ice cream, they also have a kids menu

Some improvement completed - much more needed. Fish was not fishy as previous visits, so that s a plus. However, one dish we ordered was served on a cracked, and possibly burnt plastic dish this made me feel as though there is a lack of care in the food preparation. Please just get rid of damaged tableware. I would have ordered something Korean as this place says it has Korean dishes, but there was only one choice. Very Meh.

My favourite sushi in town! Consistently delicious, reasonably priced, and impeccable service for both dine in and take out.

We have ate there 5x and it was awesome ... had a few of the boxes and sushi, and loved the chicken yakisoba. Had the chicken yakisoba at Edos and ya just cant compare . Sushi on the strip is far superior , with a great price. Edos tasted like fast food . Highly recommend Sushi on the strip !

Walked out on this place. Waitress was one of the rudest servers Ive ever had. We were still ordering and she walked away before we were finished. When I went to complain and finished ordering, the waitress just said Bye! and walked away. So we just left. Worst service Ive ever had.

Hello Sir/mam, I want to inform you about service s rude behaviour at your restaurant on aug 21 around 12:08pm. She was extremely rude. We have been here before many times never had face that type of behaviour. Sometimes we have been here from Invermere to place an order or dinning. We both are working at a restaurant since 2016 and 2019 as a manager and supervisor. We ordered our order to her but forgot to add spice level so I went there to add some spices and do take out order as well at the front desk. She came at our table and said that, never been to a restaurant before? What you want?? Like what is the sense of customer service? We just went out immediately. They should have to learn some sense that how to speak with customers?? and never ever come again. Look forward to hearing from you. ( I emailed to owner as well and till the date I didn t get any reply from them side ) Loved the food but won t go back because of the rude manners of that grumpy lady.

We got up and left. This place is not worth going to and I highly recommend Sakura. We ordered a Udon and two sushi rolls, 35 minutes later, a women who came in 10 minutes after us was served her food and we were ignored. After 10 more minutes of waiting we got up and left. Awful service.

Ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box. It was lots of food and very good. My friend had the teriyaki beef box. He liked most but thought the beef tasted off so did not eat it. Told this to the waitress when we were done. She apologized and said she would tell the cook. Then they removed the cost of his whole meal from bill. Anything can go wrong at times but a good business is the one that will take care of it. Will eat here again.

Apparently under new owners as of late. Order was taken incorrectly and then it all just didn t taste good. Rice was almost slimy, and the Rambo roll looked more like what was left of someone when Rambo was done with them than something you wanted to eat. Most definitely not going to order from here again. It is unfortunate because the Fernie sushi wood has always been excellent!

Surprisingly good sushi for a place in Cranbrook along the highway, like really good sushi. Arguably better than a place that came highly recommended in Vancouver. Pricing is on the low end for most sushi places too, representative of the location. But seriously, the sushi here is top notch. Hands down the worst service I have ever received. It took 20 minutes to take our order and there was 2 other tables in the restaurant, parts of the order were forgotten about, the waitstaff could use some training or maybe a nap... I dont know what was wrong but she was awful at her job. Regardless, if you can get over that the sushi is really good.

Edited review for new owners. Current review: Wow, great atmosphere improvement and great value, especially for lunch specials. Food is delicious with many options to choose from. They happily adjusted to requests and the server was fun and friendly! Previous review: Great menu, large portions, good value and peaceful atmosphere. I would say that this was the freshest sashimi I have ever had. Everything tasted great and was extremely well prepared.

Friendly staff and amazing sushi

Always awful. Poor service. Overpriced food that barely makes it out unless you hassle the waitress. Went in at 1:30, ordered a bento box. Recieved my miso within 20 minutes, and then 15 minutes later when I asked where the rest of my food was, was told that they closed at 2:30!!! I asked why they let me order a bento box that Id never be receiving, the waitress just apologized and handed me my bill. After attempting to eat at this restaurant time and time again, Ill never be going back.

My husband and I have ordered takeout from sushiwood a few times and just ate in the restaurant today.The food is consistent, very good, and well priced, the staff is friendly and its an all around enjoyable atmosphere. 10/10

Its really good sushi and the prices are reasonable. Excellent selection of delicious Korean and Japanese dishes and appetizers, too. Staff is attentive and friendly. Decor is cute. There are both regular restaurant tables available as well as walled booths. Ive had fairly large to-go orders from SushiWood that were just as excellent as eating in. A great choice overall.

How are we blessed with so many amazing sushi places in the area!!?? The Takoyaki is amazing here, just order one, you will like it! The Bento boxs are a quick and delicious option with a little bit of everything. I had the beer variety today. Service is always quick and friendly. They also have a delivery option as well. The flowers and decorations are done extremely well, and are always a delight to ponder upon when we come in.

The best sushi in town and great service

Best sushi Ive ever had.

I normally dont write reviews about food but I was thoroughly disappointed in Sushi Wood when I ordered takeout last night. The Miso soup was disgusting and had no flavour and our roles were not that appetising. My spicy salmon roll tasted a bit off and i couldnt finish the roll. Im a bit disappointed because this was a good option for us for sushi but now I will have to look elsewhere.

this place has the worst service, the cashier had attitude problems and tried to argue with me because she made a mistake on my order...even tho I was extremely calm and polite about it. They didnt include chopsticks in my order. I was visiting in Cranbrook and Ill never go back to that place again.

Delicious food and very reasonably priced

Ordered calamari... got something that looked and tasted like deep fried chicken, and was served with a honey mustard sauce. When we asked she insisted it was squid. We didnt eat it yet still paid for it. All of our food was brought out at different times and she didnt check on us after the food was out. However the sushi rolls were good.

Service isnt great, avoid anything deep fried and the website isnt accurate for menu items or prices. The only reason it isnt 1 star is when I told them how bad the tempura was (soft, greasy and half onions) the manager DID call back.. 3 days later with a $10 gift card on a $50+ botched order... savr your money go to S****a instead.

Total Sushi Surprise. I have been here four times now and loved it each time. This is one of the cutest little sushi places around. I believe its run by a Korean couple which are the nicest folks. You will absolutely love the Chefs masterly craft of making specialty rolls. Do not be put off by the horrible pictures in the menu, the sushi is wonderfully made and tastes awesome. In my opinion this is one of the best places between here and the west coast and the price? Better than anywhere period for what you get.
