Bar Vincent in Darlinghurst

Irrespective of the food or atmosphere, the service was so appallingly rude that I could never recommend this restaurant to anyone. We had an 8.15pm booking which they pushed back to 8.30pm and we arrived punctually, ordering our meal within 10 minutes of arriving because we were hungry. They took their time bringing out the food and at 10.20pm, a woman that we hadn t seen previously (who we later found out was the owner) very rudely swept in and abruptly started clearing plates from our table with food still on them, telling us that she was going to have to hurry us along . Our waitress had only just opened our second bottle of wine, and we hadn t even finished our meal. In the end, we didn t end up looking at the dessert menu, we didn t even finish our bottle of wine, because the owner s behaviour made us feel so uncomfortable & not welcome. There were other tables still dining, we weren t the only table there, the website says that this place is open until late , and they don t put time frames on the later bookings. We were very confused and disappointed to be treated this way.

They tailor the portions on the size of the table. Provide excellent service and recommendations. And have amazinggg food

The food at Bar Vincent was outstanding, and our waiter, Mike, truly enhanced the experience with his excellent service. He made the evening just as memorable as the incredible dishes did. We ll definitely be back soon!

Service was horrendous, you can get better service at fast food restaurants. Waiter showed frustration when we asked for the days special after a member joined us a little later on. No common courtesy when placing plates and cutlery on the table and basically threw them in front of us.

Happy we were in our dark, candle-lit corner nibbling on sour dough, sipping fruity Vermentino waiting for the chef to do his work: on .whiter than white, creamy baccala atop juicy, sugary tomatoes, with melba toast. Smokey vitello tonnato, quail egg and anchovy. A whole spluttering, buttery John Dory coated in Sauce Meunière and tiny mussels. Fries and spinach. We d considered whether we should squeeze in some pasta too. I wanted the pasta, I still want the pasta. This is great food in a very dark room. We loved it. All. Everything. Our waitress was tops. See you there..

I am always hesitant to give a locally run restaurant one star, but with the service we received I can t help but feel it is deserved. We were a large group there to celebrate a combined birthday, and naturally we were excited to try a restaurant that was long on our radar after hearing many rave reviews. No sooner had we settled in and had a look at the menu, an older looking lady with dark curly hair (we soon found out, much to our surprise, that she was the owner) started pouring our water and very distinctly, very loudly , SHUSHED us. A very unmistakable SSSSHHHHH!! . Like we were a bunch of naughty children disrupting her class, instead of a group of paying patrons in an already rowdy restaurant. From then on you can imagine our palpable discomfort in even conversing with each other, so much so we resorted to whispering in case we raised the ire of a woman who would throw her arms up and huff each time any of us walked past her to go to the bathroom. Mind you, she was happy to chat and laugh along with a boisterous table seated next to us. We raised this with the lovely waitress who was serving us, and she apologised for her boss s behaviour profusely, explaining that she was drunk . Drunk?? Unacceptable. At this point the food doesn t even matter and to be honest I cannot remember one dish from the night. Dessert was comped by the waitress to try and make up for the terrible way we were treated by the owner, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant to anybody, and will never return.

The most delicious food. Everything was perfect. The sirloin was a stand out and the service was excellent - so welcoming and lovely. Can t wait to go back.

We ate tonight and we scoffed everything without taking pics! Honestly the best food we have eaten since Italy. Every mouthful caused every person in our group to stop and roll their eyes upwards. Absolutely incredible flavours. Can t believe we didn t know about this place. We will be back! Such wonderful staff too!

Sarah, who apparently is the owner has to be the rudest and unprofessional person. Ive spoken to her husband before and he seemed lovely. Its unfortunate he got stuck with such an arrogant woman for a wife. She is hurting your business! Never coming back again.

An absolutely life-changing experience that no words can meet. I started with a fish. It was the best of my entire life. So much so that I canceled my next bit and asked them to just bring that to me twice. It was just as exceptional the second time around. Once I got to the pasta, I understood that this was not a fluke. It was no accident. It was no upset. The pasta was chewy and yet also soft. The sage and butter are simple and yet also exquisite. There are not strong enough terms to recommend Bar Vincent. This tale doesnt even include how they recommended a great whiskey or selected several wines that I fell in love with. It also doesnt include the kindness of the wait staff or the general ambiance of the location. Its five stars without literally any of that. Do yourself a favor and try to get a reservation.

Great food and affordable for the quality that was delivered. However, our waiter ruined the night with his rude, curt behaviour. He interrupted our table mid conversation twice and then at the end of our meal he threw an an ATM machine into our hands and instructed us to leave in an offhand and jarring way. Very disappointing service from an esteemed restaurant.

On two separate occasions i have called to make a reservation due to their site booking process opening to an email request which doesnt work for me. Both times, been met with such rudeness - barked at because theyre in the middle of service, and that my reservation didnt go through ( and made to feel it was my fault they didnt receive my emails to book). I wont be trying to book a 3rd time. Check your manners - your staff are not above them. Awful experiences! Would be interesting to see if the pretentious attitude made it to the floor staff at a dinner service - ill never know.

Brilliant food specially fish

I ve been meaning to visit Bar Vincent for some time, and I m so glad I finally did. Food was excellent - I loved everything we had (prawns, crab tagliolini, steak, ricotta cannoli) and an excellent bottle of Pinot. Perfect for a rainy night. Service was spot on too. Highly recommend.

Good food. You have to your meals in the alotted time. The waitress is very efficient in clearing your table and getting you out of the door once time is up.

Fresh produce and sublime flavours, with a cosy, down-to-earth vibe and super friendly service. They have cocktails on request, and I had the best amaretto sour here. I also recommend the white asparagus entree.

Mid week anniversary dinner and it was all very tasty. Favourite was the paperdelle, sirloin and frites! Bonus points for the waitress giving us recommendations for Rome.

Denied me service of water ?? Is this allowed they service alcohol so my understanding was they should provide water. I was willing to pay for a drink or food something small since I didnt want to waste their time.

Superlative Italian food at its most authentic; very attentive, warm and engaging service; cute, charming venue with a lot of personality. Ill be hard pressed to reproduce the pippies tagliolini and the wild boar ragu pappardelle at home.

I recently had the distinct displeasure of dining at Bar Vincent, which proudly masquerades itself as an Italian restaurant. If Bar Vincent is meant to embody an Italian dining experience, then surely pigs can fly.! The octopus salad, which I hesitate to even dignify with that description, was a spectacle to behold. Chewy, lumpy, and as bland as a sheet of a4 paper, it was more reminiscent of chewing on a hard, flat school folder. The $44 chili crab pasta was a symphony of disappointment. The purported crab, if it could even be called that, was a heinous concoction of overcooked gunk that seemed to have been liberated straight from a can and then carelessly doused with Heinz spaghetti in a can. Not to be outdone, the service left much to be desired. Our waitress appeared to be in a haste to bid us adieu, snatching items from our table in a reckless display of impatience. The bill was unceremoniously thrown in our general direction, and the table was cleared with all the grace of a natural disaster. The ambiance, or lack thereof, put the final nail in the proverbial coffin. The restaurant was dark and had a horrible damp and musty smell. Never mind the awful food, this smell was enough to put you off. In summary, Bar Vincent is a place where culinary dreams go to die. If you hold any reverence for the sanctity of Italian cuisine or the simple pleasure of a welcoming dining atmosphere, I implore you to spread your wings and soar far away from this wretched abode.

Great vibe, amazing food, wonderful service. Absolutely 10/10 experience

I was looking forward very much to eating at Bar Vincent however I was left disappointed. These are the reasons why: 1.Too many tables in close proximity to each other creating a sense of overcrowding. Where fellow diners and wait staff were overlapping onto our table as they passed by. Along with the overcrowding came the noise where conversation was very difficult. 2. Dark and non ventilated. The smell of dampness was present. 3. I had the crab pasta where there were no signs of fresh crab which tasted like it came from a tin. Most of it was left on the plate and no-one asked why? The octopus in the salad was rubbery and very difficult to eat. However, the Steak Tartare was exquisite, the fresh bread was good and the olive oil was supreme. 4. Wait staff were friendly and helpful but could not wait for us to leave. Where plates and cutlery were quickly taken away and tables were wiped down in a hurried manner. We skipped dessert as we could not wait to leave to get some fresh air and escape the noise. Would not recommend or visit again not even for the Steak Tartare.

Great flavours, great service, well priced

Food was ok but I found the over-use of obscure Italian words that I didn t know (as an avid foodie and industry professional ) on the menu and in the specials really frustrating- especially as our waiter (who seemed senior and possibly even the manager) was impatient and rude in explaining them and we struggled to hear her in the awful acoustics (she was grumpy when asked to repeat them). With so many complicated specials there should be a board, who can remember them? Prices should also be given. She failed to vary her description when asked for more information, and refused to make a recommendation - I almost walked out. A drinks delivery stacked up next to our table that they then started to put away while we ate, the 2 couples at the next table making out outrageously and inappropriately and if anything being encouraged by the waiter added to our discomfort. I found the place over rated and in need of some serious reappraisal.

Everything about this place is SPECTACULAR. Sarah and Andy run a brilliant outfit. The food is consistently incredible. It is our favourite place to take friends, work colleagues or just to have a date night dinner at the counter. The staff are bloody amazing, nothing is too much trouble, and the martinis are always perfection. This place is like an extension of our house, we are there so often. Many others feel the same way too, as you will always see other members of the Bar Vinnie family at the shop regularly. Could not rate this place higher. Overpriced and small portions.

Yesterday was my first lunch at Bar Vincent which is a culinary gem with amazing staff, a couple of excellent Grower champagnes by the bottle. Super fresh oysters and superb mignonette, fantastic dishes like crudo, steak tartare, and the pastas. The warm and attentive service, combined with a cozy ambiance, creates an unforgettable dining experience. A must-visit for food enthusiasts alike. Cant wait to go back again.

We had the most beautiful lunch here on Friday! The food was just really good. The fresh pasta with mushrooms was tender and light (perfection) The flounder was cooked to perfectly and so delicious. For dessert we had a pannacotta infused with lemon and served with fresh berries that was fresh and a delight to eat. Pannacotta is my least favourite dessert, but today I learnt that when done well it s really good! I could of easily eaten two! The cannoli was light and crunchy with chocolate chip ricotta was also delicious. Will definitely be going back! Thank you so much for a great lunch.

You know that feeling when you think you know an area and you ve tried everything and you can t think of anywhere in that area that you haven t been to just let me say this - don t stop trying new things even in places you think you know back to front. Bar Vincent is an extraordinary restaurant with very little fanfare but all the beauty is in the food and service and I d venture to say some of the best Italian food this city has to offer. The risotto nettle with prawns was probably the stand out dish but it s not fair to isolate anything - IT IS ALL GOOD. And pleasant. And not contrived in anyway. Zucchini flowers, vitello tonnata, rib eye on bone, the whiting - nothing, not a thing, was a let down. All served in an average looking terrace dimly lit and slightly too hot - maybe even stuffy if I was being pedantic - but who cares - you are winning just by being there. A definite recommendation.

Simply the very best dinner experience Ive ever had in Sydney. Every dish was completely superb. The scallops were divine, the chicken pasta in broth was phenomenal and light, the king George whiting was pretty much a religious experience, and the service was beyond brilliant. (Oh and they bake their own bread, which tastes incredible ). Book in advance people, its worth the wait. Bar Vincent is what true restaurant dining should be about.

Worthwhile trying and perfect for pasta lovers

Loved this restaurant! Came with my family and my partner and were treated to a great meal. Their pastas are served in sets of 2, and they kindly made an exception as we had an odd number and my brother is vegetarian. I think they change the menu frequently but I highly recommend the pastas! Wines were also great too

Have been meaning to go to Bar Vincent for ages, and finally did it. Wow, wish Id gone sooner. Great atmosphere, like a comfortable and unpretentious neighbourhood bistro should have. Wonderful, helpful friendly and attentive service. And the food, just wow!!!

Bar Vincent is popular with friends so after a movie we decided to give it a try and were glad that we did. We shared a pasta, whiting and a side of spinach and a chocolate tart, lovely Italian white wine. Everything was delicious,service perfect, atmosphere congenial to being able to converse without shouting. Agree with friends a top restaurant!

The food is delicious and staff is very friendly. The room is a bit small, so it got quite loud when everyone talks, depending on who you go with. I had a good time. Thank you Parking: Took a while to find the parking. Better take public transportations.

Rudest service Ive ever experienced.

Guys, thank you! Rocked up on the busiest night of the week, thinking I had made a reservation for a special celebration. Turns out I hadnt. (Nice one, Josh!) The manager, Brett, was so generous with his understanding and allocated us a table as soon as he was able. From that moment on, we had the best night! The service (thanks Jess, love the cheeky grin), the vibe, and most importantly - the food - was exemplary. I was not, despite previous recommendations, expecting the food to be of such high quality. Honestly, outstanding. The freshness of the produce, the presentation (who butterflies a fish like that...!!!??? Amazing!) and the flavours were some of the best Ive had. Fresh pasta has never been this good. Whatever is happening in that tiny kitchen needs to be applauded and lauded, as theyre onto something special. Thank you, Bar Vincent.

Seemingly undeserving of their reputation... We must have come on an off day because each dish really missed the mark on either seasoning, flavour or texture. Dont get me wrong, there were plenty of people sitting in the dark having a great time, but our experience just fell well short. I dont understand the insistence on portioning every dish for the table. It was really unacceptably rigid and made for an awkward night where one would eat from two plates while the other waited. All in all it was very reminiscent of those restaurants in northern Italy. What should be a winning ticket is all too commonly just another let down.

Unfortunately had a terrible experience due to the waitress (mature woman in her 50s with dark hair, think her name is Sarah). 1) She was snappy and rude from the moment we were seated, cut us off or bluntly responded to questions about the menu, her attitude was erratic and uncomfortable the entire night. 2) Was extremely inappropriate by asking if we had a cigarette for her, and proceeded to ask the table next to us when we didnt have any. 3) With no warning, basically kicked us out of the restaurant. She advised us that they would require the table soon for the next booking, immediately we understood and requested for the dessert menu to finish off the night, but she rudely responds with you dont have any time for dessert, you actually have to leave now and proceeds to clear up our cutlery and table. We were utterly shocked by her behaviour and tried to let her understand how we were feeling, but she started to pretend we were not there by ignoring us and proceeding to clear the table. Food was good but nowhere near enough to be compensated by the way we were treated, got better service from the fast check out chick at Aldi.

The dining experience was horribly uncomfortable, unprofessional and tainted and ruined our entire evening by one particular employee (Sarah? with dark curly hair). I have never once written a formal complaint about a restaurant, until now. 1) Condescending / Dismissive Behaviour - When we were first seated, Sarah was very dismissive when attempting to order from the drinks menu. As we were simply trying to gain clarity on what was available to order, she started us initially off with a condescending tone in voice. As a result, my friend and I decided to get up and walk over to the bar to review the selections (where we did speak to a lovely ex-employee, who was having a drink by the bar, and another friendly male employee who was bartending that night), because we felt initially uncomfortable, whereby her demeanour in general was just harsh and blunt when we asked questions. 2) Misinformation / Inability to explain - When my friend and I arrived back at the table after getting support from other friendly Bar Vincent employees, Sarah was explaining to my other 2 friends the menu structure. This was more complicated than it should have been, as she was attempting to explain in the most convoluted manner. Also, if there were certain intricacies with the menu (i.e. pastas are served in 2s), Sarah did not wait for the full table to be seated to explain it to us. Nonetheless, we decided on what we wanted to order on Sarahs subsequent visit to the table, but then were shocked at the end when she had doubled up on menu items, when we did not request this. 3) Forgotten orders - Sarah had taken down further orders for drinks throughout the night, which had never arrived. However, after half an hour, another 2 male Bar Vincent employees that night had caught hold of this situation (through even no prompt by us) and put the order in immediately and fulfilled the drinks with haste, which we were thankful for. 4) Unprofessionalism - After some of the conduct that we had relayed above, Sarah then frantically ran over to our table and asked us do you have a cigarette?, which we politely replied that we did not have, then we watched her frantically run to other tables and ask the same question. We were shocked at this point, and goes without saying why this is an inappropriate question to a first time customer. 5) Rude Commentary / Ignoring - As we were finishing our main courses, Sarah was frantically rushing us to tell us that she needed to clear the table for the next party that arrived. There were unfortunately large intervals during the time where we were left waiting for our food (we werent timing this specifically and only guess that it was between 20 minutes between dishes) which had resulted in us rushing our meal because the food was taking so long to arrive. We then asked her for the dessert menu (as we wanted to order dessert to celebrate my friends birthday), then she abruptly said you dont have time for dessert, you have to go now while frantically trying to clear the dishes off the table. I proceeded to explain to her that the food had taken a long time to arrive between intervals, it was my friends birthday and we were given absolutely no appropriate heads-up - she started ignoring us! Utter disbelief that this had happened. After the above events, I spoke to another male employee at Bar Vincent about the experience, and even he was empathetic and listened to the entire situation. The rest of the other staff that we were served by were great (and we all even agreed that food was great). What I am the most upset about is that I had selected Bar Vincent to celebrate my dear friends birthday that night, but had left in anger and disappointment from her conduct. Extremely unfortunate and disappointed that Sarah had destroyed our entire experience and ruined my friends birthday. Definitely one that well never forget.

We received incredibly poor service from a dark curly haired lady which made for a disappointing dining experience at Bar Vincent. We originally assumed this was a staff member named Sarah, only to realise in fact that she is the owner. Her mannerisms toward our table, were nothing short of unwelcoming and unpleasant. I was made to feel like an idiot for asking if there was an extended drinks menu, and received a condescending and conclusive No. When I had tried to ask what other options there were to drink, her response was unhelpful Just whatever we have at the bar... which was not within sight of our table, in the back room. After those uncomfortable exchanges + more, Sarah dropped by our table to ask if we had any cigarettes, which we didnt. We were evidently appalled by this so she later came back to explain that she was asking for an ex chef. I dont care. Completely inappropriate to ask your dining customers, despite the needs. While Sarah was attentively fussing about the table next to us, she had forgotten to give us a courtesy reminder that the restaurant needed the table back soon. With no prior warning, she came over to clear the table just as we finished the mains and said that the next booking has arrived so she needed the table back immediately. We asked if we had time to order a quick celebratory dessert and her response was No, you need to leave now, abruptly clearing the table and ignoring our questions from here on. With so many new restaurants in Sydney serving incredible dishes, with quality produce and exceptional service, the competition is so strong. When people like Sarah are arrogantly making customers uncomfortable, you should expect that they will not be returning and recommending others against going. I get that as an owner you feel that you can do whatever you want, but as paying customers, we expect so much better. Such a shame, Sarah.

We had such a lovely dinner at Bar Vincent . Surprisingly it was really easy to find parking too. The four entrees we shared were delicious especially the crumbed scollops and the garlic prawns were very tasty . The chef was very generous .. gave us a complementary salad to go with our yummy main courses plus an extra piece of pear tart to take home . Waitress was very attentive and our food was either rushed or slow to come. Will definitely return .

This was so close to a 5. The food was amazing but the service was less than. Every course was perfect and thought the dessert would be the cherry on top but were asked to leave before we could even look at the desert menu! Wait time between courses was long - we would have appreciated a heads up if our booking time was almost up. Lack of communication and onus of poor time management was disappointing for an otherwise delicious night.

A really nice meal was brought to an abrupt end when we asked to see the dessert menu. Rather than being offered the menu we were told our reservation time was over and the bill was plonked on the table. When we tried to give the staff some feedback and say that we were disappointed that we weren t able to order dessert because there was such a long gap between each dish the response was sorry come at the 8:15 sitting next time so you get 2.5 hours . It didn t seem very fair that the staff were putting the responsibility back on us - the customers - to manage the timing of our meal. It would have been much better service if we had been told at the beginning of the meal that we might not have time for dessert because each dish comes out separately or if we were asked at the beginning of the meal if we expected to have dessert. Even letting us know we only had 10 mins left on the table would have been appreciated. The food was very good but the whole meal was brought down by the poor service at the end.

The host made me feel like I was at a friends house for dinner, so personable but still so professional, she offered to do half portions for me so that I could try more of the menu, even though dining solo - outstanding.

What a cosy place for dinner! Everything is prepared and cooked with love. Pasta are to die for plus the service is always on point. Love it! Highly recommended!

Everything was perfect. All of the food was good, excellent service and reasonable price.

All the other reviewers are spot on. Staff are lovely, venue is cozy and unpretentious...and the food is delightful. We ordered pastas to share, and they brought each pasta out one by one and split them on in seperate bowls. Little touches like this make a dining experience memorable. My only gripe is if you have an early booking, you usually have to vacate by 8ish, but this is the type of venue you want to stay at all night, sipping on your cote du rhone til closing time.

Located at 174 Liverpool Street, Darlinghurst. Italian - yummy food, great service - waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable re the menu. You order share plates - we had a snapper, pasta with clams, tuna and calamari dishes - all were delicious. They have a fab wine list also. Casual relaxed vibe - we went on a Tues evening and it was busy. Mid priced - cost us $250 for 3 people with wine. Would highly recommend!

Found my new favourite restaurant in Sydney! The service is outstanding, very knowledgeable and accomodating. Every dish was a standout! If you re sharing dishes they will bring them divided into individual servings which is a very nice touch.

Perfect albeit the ending. We were looked after wonderfully like family and the whole John Dory was to die for. Wine was lovely. Would have been a 5/5 and one of my favourite ever dining experiences in Sydney if not for the complete lack of communication regarding time to vacate the table for the next patrons. Of course it is to be expected the table was needed at a certain time however this was not communicated during the booking process or during our dining experience. At least not until we received the bill and 2 minutes to finish our main and wine would have been nice to finish our main or consider desert. This left a sour taste, tainting our experience of what was otherwise exceptional.

This area has seen more great enthusiasm for the new, than September in Paris fashion. In the past, this hasnt always been backed up with a lasting impression. But for the most part, this debutante gets the choices right. No one dish was really perfect. But you dont want to hear me pull apart the layers, do you? You just want to know if your friends will think youve got the secrets to their looking like theyve got the secrets to their friends, who dont make the cut of this night youre hosting. Short answer, youll look like Angelina Jolie in that movie she regrets doing (started her Billy Bobing phase in 1999). Yeah, like many of the items on this menu, she was a thing way back then. This place would have been a hit then, as it is surely to be now. Ask your friends...

We went to the restaurant (3 people) and there was a mix up with the order. They brought the wrong dish to the table and when the bill came, they were charging us for those items we didn t order. When we enquired, and ultimately we were willing to pay, the owner came to our table and starting shutting at us, using very vulgar language and obscenities (f- word and more) This type of behaviour is appalling and we felt threatened. We had a 85 year old lady with us and she felt very shaken after the incident. We were never rude to anyone. We just asked about the charges and we are astonished of the way this woman treated us

Dear Owner, You may not be aware of your waiters upselling techniques and and general rudeness. Please see below: Our table of 3 people had an unsatisfactory experience at the end of the night with our waiter. When we complained to him that our $40 dishes ended up costing $60 the waiter said he had mentioned wed get a half share each because we were sharing. We had not realised the ramifications that the dishes would each cost 50% more NOR had the waiter been clear about additional costs. If we had known we would have insisted that each of us just order our own pasta dish. After explaining that there had been a misunderstanding the waiter said that this is house policy when sharing and slammed the electronic charger down on the table indicating the full addition. In summation, we were overfed (one of us left food on each of her dishes) and overcharged through no choice of our own by a waiter who lacked the necessary people skills to assess where the misunderstanding may have occurred and seek an equitable solution.

Unfortunately the waiter serving our table was rude and made our entire Friday (Dec 9th, late seating) night experience the worst weve had in a long time. While he was telling us about the nights specials (a rather long list to keep in our heads across entree, mains and desserts) he questioned why we wanted to choose something of the set menu as he was speaking. For us it was only a way to get something ordered from the entrees, but this obviously triggered him and put him off so much so that he started a discussion. Isnt this rude considering we are the guests, choosing what to eat and paying for dinner and not him? Later on, his tone of voice continued being passive aggressive not only to us but to neighbouring tables.. He called us one of those people when we chose to not have dessert. Is this supposed to be the service level at a 2 hatted restaurant? Food was of high quality and tasted great but with this type of service leaves a bitterness throughout each course.

We always love coming to Bar Vincent. We forgot to take photos of all the other food because they were absolutely divine! The service is a excellent and utmost care and love is taken for every dish. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is a little gem. The food is delicious, the staff are extremely warm and the service is impeccable. The decor is romantic and nostalgic to a European restaurant. We ve been to dinner here twice and we love it more and more with each visit.

This is a seriously good restaurant. Not fine dining but for Sydney exceptional European cooking, very simple, quality produce prepared and presented to standard not often found. Wish this place was near my home I would there every week, only complaint you now need to book well ahead, but well worth it.

This is the best restaurant in sydney right now. If you liked Apollo, 10 William, Lucio s or any of the great sydney dining places with good food and vibe this is the place.

Delightful, gorgeous food cooked with skill and love, served adeptly with love and a warm dose of genuine conviviality. Great product knowledge, good glassware with a smart, small wine list that changes regularly depending on the latest supplier conversations bound clearly by close valued relationships. In fact that s the general essence of Bar Vincent, connection and relationships. Andy, Sarah, their team, the space all of it seems to breathe authenticity skill and love which fills us with great confidence and permission to relax, enjoy and a certain desire to return again and again.

An amazing dining experience. The ever changing rustic menu was read to us with passion and excitement which made us want ever dish that was on offer! The dishes were truely mouthwatering, leaving us wanting more each time. The share style was excellent, the quality of food was exceptional and the atmosphere was on point. Can t wait to go back and try it all over again.

Extremely arrogant, rude bad manner Very unwelcoming Most bizarre sharing concept and very unhygienic especially during this Covid-19 period, no sanitizer, no social distancing, the staff members constantly touching their hair and face. We are a small group of 6, we been FORCE to only share our dishes instead of the choice of your own, with one server on each dishes even though a-la carte menu was given to us. The women with the curly hair was very rude and unhelpful saying if you dont like the way it set up, you can to leave. I find it extremely offensive and with absolutely no manner. Although they have quite an extensive menu but it was extremely useless. Someone must have thought it was a good idea or maybe for profit reason that everyone on the same table can ONLY share the same dish. We ordered a flounder fish and the women with curly hair said to us that is very difficult to share, I dont really quite understand why they have the fish on the menu then if it is hard to share but the restaurant only do sharing plates. So, the 6 of us get forced into to have the same dishes; really there is no other option even though one may feel like having steak, the other may feel like having pasta. If you order pasta, there will be a pasta for 6 in our case. Same thing goes to anything you order, so you may end up with awful load of food. This is just completely absurd and unhygienic, I will not recommend to anyone. It is just such a hassle and awful experience.

Gruff and brusque - surely the worse front of house encounter ever. Cold and unwelcoming from the moment we arrived; we survived a fast and perfunctory meal explanation and surveyed the printed menus but were repeatedly told its not a la carte. Dont think youre going to get to order what you want - we were refused choices in courses, railroaded into 2 mains between 6 of us. Argumentative and relentlessly hostile, the final threat was wielded by our waitperson to our insurrection at trying to order what we wanted: well it s my restaurant. Last place she should be - dealing with the public! The food was delicious, servings generous; the room was loud and no hint of distancing. But the manner from she whose restaurant it was was unacceptable. Food 8/10, ambience 1/10. Better places to spend hundreds of dollars!

We loved so much about this place. As locals its always good to have a good winter cosy type of place that would still work in summer. Service is top notch. The menu options are more then what it seems when you arrive as the menu seems to have plenty of specials which can be hard to remember. Everything we had had depth of flavour and freshness. From the delicious complimentary bread and sublime butter to the oysters, tortellini crudo with ricotta and mortadella inside in a broth. Our favourite and definitely are Im going back for dish was the Risotto. With three to choose from we went for the Milanese version with saffron and veal. The veal piece was a meal on its own in size and the Risotto was just so amazing and full of creamy flavour. The steak with mushrooms with a side of chips was a great last main on a sharing basis for 2. To end the night was a supcrious lemon cake served with a yummy creamy ricotta and sour lemon syrup. All up dinner was perfect and all matched with a great Italian Pinot Nero. We cant wait to start calling Bar Vincent our local.

Knocks Me Off My Feet - Donell Jones comes to mind when recapping the wild and intoxicating experience that was dining @barvincentsydney . Local produce is a buzz term that can be sometimes flogged to death. But its also something that we as Aussies with a great agricultural scene, often take for granted. As it pertains to the crew here however, nothing is vague or short-sighted. The attention to detail in the menu is immaculate to the point where it comes off as effortless that the ingredients within the dishes really just speak for themselves. Listening to the service run through the plates as they land on the table is as exciting as eating the food itself informative and completely unpretentious. The recommendation is to let the house sort you out but STRONGLY suggest ordering at least 2-3 items from the garden (asparagus risotto and the broad beans with the stracciatella were foolishly good). Add in a wine pairing at each step along the way and this will be the best special occasion money youll spend all year. Thanks to the crew here for showing us love in their house all evening

The food here is so so so good. You can actually taste the ingredients in each dish. The prawn pasta was so divine, the asparagus risotto was amazing, my goodness everything was wonderful. I love going out to eat where no one ingredient overpowers and I can enjoy every ingredient. Its a real talent to achieve this.

There is something truly special about that combination of talented kitchen folk working with quality ingredients to produce something that is deceptively simple and utterly delicious. Bar Vincent is just that. I ll be back .
