October 19th 2024 I ordered food roughly around 3:30 at the restaurant when I got there they were behind on their orders I waited over almost 25 minutes if not a little longerfor a takeout order I ordered combo 11 and fried dumplings the person at the checkout rang in the wrong price and then came back 5 minutes later and then charged me for the price of the dumplings which was fine at the time cuz I wanted them my order came to $42.50, so finally after waiting got the food got it home plated the food for myself my mother and my daughter I ate a little bit because I ate earlier that day my mom ate her plate and my daughter ate her plate within hours my mother had severe diarrhea my daughter had diarrhea I had a bite of the chicken wing and I spit it out I couldn't even chew it the rice tastes like it was old the vegetables tasted very chalk-like in the egg roll was dry the fried dumplings looked very unappealing a bit burnt and the meat and the inside was so dry that it was falling out the dumpling the soy sauce tastes like balsamic vinegar, I didn't get a chance that night to take the food back cuz I was going out to an event the next day I went into the restaurant and I spoke with the person at the counter and they told me that the chef said that I would have to bring the food back to the restaurant so they could inspect the food which made no sense to me so I paid $40 for a meal that you expect me to waste my gas to drive back down to you or take the bus back down to you or however way I was to find transportation in order to bring food back so you can inspect the food ok .and I haven't heard back from anybody I went to that place and been going there for years very very disappointed never had a bad experience until the other day. Very DISAPPOINTED ☹️ and the food in the picture looks half eaten but it's not cuz I took it out in portions it to put it in plates unfortunately everything went in the trash.
I looked forward to having food from heng fung. I ordered food from here for 4+ years; always great. Been awhile since my last order so a bit surprised by the price increase; sign of times. But Thursday evening I decided to get my favourite; combo #10. I did not need half cooked crunchy rice. Tasteless honey garlic ribs. Or sweat and sour batter. (Chicken? Not sure where). Choy mein was excellent. That's for the 2 rating. And service was good for take out.
So we came to this restaurant one night. We got a family serving of fried rice, but we said that the portions were kind of small, so the waitress said that the chef could make another dish of rice. The food was pretty good, although the tofu tasted like it had pork fat, which we all didn't like. It was very nice that they could do that for customer convenience. We loved how the waitress was always smiling even though the situation wasn't the best. I know that this won't be our last time coming to this restaurant. Highly recommended for good service. 👍
I go here because it's my family's favorite reastraunt. I find the food can be oily but the gravy usually masks it and it's alright. We ordered a $100.00 order I specifically asked the manager if the gravy was included (it always has been) the gravy was the only thing I really wanted so that I could eat with everyone. Picked up the food got home NO GRAVY I called back and was told I could get a credit for the gravy or come get the gravy in traffic so by the time I got a medium warm gravy and got to the house I'd have a cold $100.00 order of food... I made it known I was very disappointed and now have to go out and get gravy elsewhere to have with the meal. It went from quick and convient to frustrating and not convient and all I got was it's our bad sorry ill give you 10% off next time.... Hopefully my next order is correct so I can give a better review.
The worst food ever. We ordered house special fried rice and white rice for a 4 year old. They messed up the kids order, the fried rice, chicken, EVERYTHING tasted like chalk. We could not eat it and threw it in the trash where it belongs. Not sure how these guys got rated 4-star. They didn’t include utensils, napkins even though we them we were visiting. Complete chaos.
The food here is great, potions are substantial and the customer service is INCREDIBLY HIGH! My server Kelsey has served me lunch a few times in the past and she does nothing but go upbove and beyond customer service, she is sooooo friendly asking all the customers how there day is and wishing them an even better day. Always in a positive spirit. I can’t emphasize enough how much it is a pleasure to go here for lunch just to have some positive up lift in my life. I’ve personally witnessed her deal with some negative people and she handles the pressure very very well… Kind of wish she worked for my company instead… defiantly an subconsciously happy soul. This place never really had the best reputation in terms of servers and staff but her with the company is bonus points for there business for sure! I wish she can make lots of bonuses and tips on the coming future because she truly deserves it!
Super impressed with the size pf the serving. 👏🏻 Honey garlic ribs are great, egg rolls ate awesome, beef broccoli is also a must try, the wanton is also superb. I dont personally like the chicken balls though (i think that’s what it’s called). But overall, it was super great experience to eat here. We ended up taking out a huge portion of our meals. If you are not a big eater, a serving can be good for sharing. 😊
One of THE BEST CHINESE CUISINE restaurants in Dartmouth that I tried. They have resonable rates and definitely more than generous quantities. The service I had always (2 times) been takeout. I have seen the place packed sometimes so I assume good customer service too. The food I got is fresh n tasted great. The egg role is delicious. Definitely a place to try🖒

Menu is overpriced now and quality of the food isnt what it used to be a few years ago. While waiting for my pickup order, the kitchen staff walked through the front area from the kitchen with buckets of dirty grease and compost as I was sitting with other take out guests. That filth was enough for me.

I Wish I could give them 0 stars!! To start with the food was terrible!! salty!! Asked them to remake the chicken Lo mein and made them with burned spices and couldn t even eat it and not to mention the lady at the front was so annoying was talking on the phone all the time when we were there so loud and annoying. Will not recommend this place at all!!
I have been a customer ever since Heng Fung opened. It served absolutely marvelous food. I moved to Moncton 7 years ago and have made at least one trip back to Halifax every year since. I have always stopped by to pick up some take-out to bring back. I have always stated to my friends and family, here, in Moncton that the best Chinese food here was 5 out of ten compared to Heng Fung which I scored a 9. (No restaurant is a perfect 10, in my opinion). Last years and this years visits to Heng Fung have been a disappointment. I am saddened by the drop in quality of the dishes. The take-outs were not up to my expectations. They were mediocre, at best. So, I guess, I am stuck with the best that Moncton has to offer. No more Heng Fung for me. Parking: many spots ib parking lot.
Probably the worst Chinese food Ive ever had in my life
Ordered dumplings. I could smell they were burnt before i even opened the bag. Completely unedible. Ordered rice, soo guy and eggroll. Rice was bland and there wasnt enough chicken in the sooguy to make 1 nugget. Will never order from there again.
You gotta eat here! Took a chance on getting take out here and we re happy that we did. Quick service! Authentic Chinese! Big servings!

Came here for some lunch while my car was being inspected down the street. The food was delicious and the waitress was super nice and friendly. The price was very reasonable too.

Older lady with pigtails was extremely rude while serving me ordered over $100 with food and tipped generously only to receive one item 20 minutes before the other one as I waited at the counter only to find that the bag they gave me have leaked all over my clothes when I went back in she just continued her absolute detestable behavior never going to come here again

Hoping it was just a bad night, but had the worst chinese food i ever had here. Pasty cold rice, mushy ginger chicken, and hot chow mein with what seemed to be cold pcs of chicken straight from a refrigerator. Both my wife and i agreed it all just seemed lije a poor attempt at serving us leftovers.

I was a new customer and now repeat customer. I heard through word of mouth how the food and service were fresh and great . So one day, while I was in the neighborhood . I decided to stop in and try the restaurant out. The food was fresh and alot on a big plate! Also the restaurant is clean warm and inviting , with great service! And the prices are reasonable as well ! I definitely will continue to be an ongoing customer .

Ordered Take-Out, first time ordering from here. My husband had Combo #9 and I had Combo #10, totalling $44.28. I was given my order and Cashier promptly sat down and returned to whatever she was doing after taking my payment. The Rice was dry, stuck together and no flavor, Chicken Balls were also dry, Egg rolls were mush and gross. Beef had a sour taste and broccoli was soggy. Honey garlic ribs were not great but better than the rest. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT!
Poor food quality.
Cantonese chowmein was pretty tasty, and actually had some crispy noodle to it, so i myself was happy with the flavor, amount of noodle, all the veg , meats and seafood was well proportioned. Eggrolls were crispy, with that mined meat fill, and their plum sauce had a touch of curry i think. Tasty. Cantonese pineapple pork and Cp chicken were lack luster and not crunchy, sauce was average out of the bucket by taste with a few pineapple and pepper chunks. Dont know if it was the steam time in container or not. Ginger Beef was okay, beef could ve thicker, cause it just felt like thin chewy off cuts with a cunchy batter that should have maybe been on the CP chicken or pork, sauce was equal but better for the ginger beef, bucket or bottle none the less. S&S Chicken was as you would expect... bag of balls and some sauce. All in? I believe it is no only take out, and like alot of places, i think that taking away the upfront view of customers. Not worth the listed prices. Id grab the Cantonese chow mein driving by again, and maybe try some 2 different dishes, but maybe ill keep driving.
I really wanted to love this place after seeing all the positive reviews...however I did not. The service was spectacular, very quick. However the food was very much lacking in flavor. The rice was mushy and so bland, the chicken balls were quite dry, the beef and broccoli was okay, the eggroll was good just a bit...soggy

Just called on New Year s Eve (Today). And I understand that it s a busy time for everyone working in not only in fast food but a Chinese restaurant. However, being kind takes zero effort. If you are actively taking calls for orders , be kind and simply say sorry we are not doing deliveries . Instead of a snarky and quite fast no .after being on hold for a good 3 minutes or so. I rarely leave reviews. And I haven t even ordered from this place today. But it just goes to show you how important it is to simply be kind.
Go alot and order the same sequence of food most of the time. The food is always excellent and maintains consistency every time. Staff is excellent and atmosphere is great! A1, keep it up!!
Food has gone down hill. Wontons were over cooked and hard. Chicken balls were tough and had grissel in them. We were sick from it after eating.

Honestly have nothing good to say. The number of decent reviews is astonishing. I don t like to hate on businesses especially on local ones, but I also want to help others make informed decisions on where they re going to spend their money and what they re going to eat. I ordered takeout by phone. Someone answered the phone, hurriedly said they would put me on hold and then proceeded to just leave me on the line without actually putting me on hold so I could hear everyone talking in the kitchen but had no idea when I would actually be helped. Finally, I was served by someone and she was nice enough but then as soon as I was done going through the order she abruptly said bye without asking me my name for the pickup or giving me an estimation for when it would be ready. She didn t actually hang up so I was once again just left sitting on the other end of the line, but no one was there to listen to my questions. Finally got our food and while the portion sizes were enormous, the food itself was just horribly bland. It looked like it had sauce on it but somehow there was literally no flavour. Basically eating super greasy food without any good taste experience to make up for it. Also, I ordered the eggplant off of the vegetable section of the menu assuming it was vegetarian and it was full of beef. I get that this was partially my fault for not double checking, but putting a meat dish under the vegetable section and not indicating anywhere that there is meat in it is just horrible business protocol. On the whole, this experience was bad enough for me to never return.
Classic Chinese resto vibe. Lots of people here for take out, thats always a good sign. We ordered #4 and #9. Egg rolls are tasty even tho mushy filling is kinda suspect. Beef in the beef and broccoli is not warm and not tasty. Just chewy. The broccoli was hot and good tho. Chicken balls are great! As is the Ginger chicken. Service is just ok, kind of slow for a Sunday. Id come back and get take out next time. Good value for money because the portions are large.
Usually the food is good. However this time the chow mein had no flavor no sauce on the spareribs. However I will say the egg rolls are in my opinion the best in the city

Food is average. One star rating is because upon request of pkg of Soy Sauce for my rice, I was told they have none and havent had since Covid. Tell me...what Chinese food restaurant has no Soy Sauce??? Unbelievable. Had I known before having ordered and paid for my combo plate, I would have gone elsewhere. If you are getting takeout and want Soy Sauce...avoid this place. Ridiculous.

So my boyfriend and I called trying to place an order for delivery at 8:30 pm, were home with a new baby, exhausted , and dont want to cook because we are tired. the restaurant closes at 9pm. Now Ive worked in food service, and the last time I checked you have to serve the customer UNTIL CLOSING. If I call a pizza place at 9:50 and they close at 10pm, they still deliver. Anywho the lady who answered the phone refused to serve us and said we stop taking orders at 8:30 maam ? Do you want to make money ? We can order on doordash and get our food delivered with you guys but your delivery driver doesnt want to work passed 8:30? Or your cooks dont want to cook? Whatever the case may be fix it because youre going to lose money like that.

Start of with tap water that got taste of corine. Service was ignored I asked was it tap water she said yes and I said to take it away, never offered anything else to drink. When the food came.. Egg roll ,chicken balls was over crust. Beef and Broccoli I asked to be well done. That was ignored She came to asked how was everything with her arms folded . So I told her no apologies but I said dont worry about it Ill take it home . Expensive bill Dont worry I wont be back. The atmosphere gave it away that even the next table was talking about the water aswell. Wondering if they ate all the food !?

Start this off by saying I think the quality of the food is above all other Chinese restaurants. BUT. In store you get reasonable prices and the true value for your dollar. Ordering on an app is bogus though. The prices are disgustingly high and you do not nearly get as much as you do in store. The packaging always comes with juices soaking the paper bag and it s consistently been like that since they swapped to paper from plastic bags. I cannot stress enough how much of a RIP OFF it is to order online. Eggrolls going for 4 bucks a pop, and combos 26.50 now . This is coming from someone who loves this place- but the prices online are truly disappointing.
Went there for lunch last month but ate a little (posting now remembering the unpalatable experience). Fried rice was stale, chicken was hard and dry, sweet and sour pork was dry and chewy, didnt like corn soup either. Never going back there again
I don t know what the food was like but it couldn t have been very good cause my husband is now sick in a hotel room with vomiting and diarrhoea from their food! He has food poisoning and that s the only food he had ! So if this what you call good food you need to rethink your palate! I can t get to him or have anyone deliver him Gatorade to help him from becoming dehydrated! I sure wouldn t go there

Each time I go here the food is of a different quality. Sometimes its really good and sometimes its mediocre. Once it gave my food poisoning. Perhaps Im just a glutton for punishment because I continue to return.

Amazing staff, friendly and offers suggestions to ensure you have the best experience. Their lunch meals are a quick and amazing meal for a low price. While their actual menu items are a nice selection without being overwhelming. The portions for the meals are insane and well eorth every penny spent. If you want to try a new place who caters to their clients, this is the best place to go. They will also deliver across the bridge to a certain range!!
I was truly disappointed with my lunch. The egg roll was fine but the rice wasnt so warm and the sweet and sour chicken balls were not so warm. In fact I only ate 2 of them because the sauce and chicken really cooled down. I only mentioned it to server when I payed because I had to go to a meeting and didnt want to be late waiting for a new order.
I havent had Chinese food in years and the urge hit me. This was legit the best I have ever had. The beef and broccoli was crisp and fresh and the egg rolls were the spicy mystery brown mush that I love!

We ordered our food it took for ever to come and when it did only one plate was correct the waitress told us we did not order a childs meal in which we did as we had a young child with us . Honestly if I want to eat minute rice I will make it at home 20.00 for one plate of nasty food Yuck!lesson learned never again

Just stopped in for a quick bite. My wife ordered two egg rolls with gravy. She asked to make sure that they were not overcooked. They were overcooked. I ordered a wonton soup. I dont know what the chef did to it but it tasted awful. The wonton looked like they were cook three days ago and the pork leftover from last weekend. After complaining about this I was asked to never come back.

Went to this restaurant based on the reviews. Only up side was the serving size. Fried wontons were overcooked, rice was short grain and was a little mushy. Server was not interested in us at all. Did not come back to the table once the food was dropped off. There was only one other table on the go most of the time we were there. Dropped of the bill at the table without a word and walked away. Will not be back.

Worst Chinese food in town.. we decided to try this place yesterday at work.. we ordered 7 combos (all different) and went and picked it up.. first off there was no forks, no napkins, no soy sauce and 1 miniature plum sauce for 7 eggrolls which was barely enough for 1. So anyway after that disappointment we started to try to eat our lunch... everyones rice was extremely overcooked and was basically mush... the chicken balls could be used as weapons as they were rock hard an uneatable, the egg rolls had a really bad smell to the meat inside, the beef and broccoli was disgusting with grey shredded mystery meat with this white slime sauce on it... sure didnt look or taste like beef, everything else, chow mein , almond su guy, ginger chicken all was tasteless or uneatable... long story short, over $100 in food all thrown in the garbage as not one of us could eat what they gave us.. They dont even deserve 1 star~

Disorganized and rude. I wouldn t be posting this if it was the first time we witnessed such poor service. Unsure why they would say our very simple order would be ready in 10 mins, but my husband had to wait in the store until the food was ready after 35 minutes. We don t mind waiting, just a more accurate timeframe would be helpful. During his wait he witnessed the woman at the desk treat customers disrespectfully repeatedly. Upon receiving our order after he waited in store for 25 minutes, there wasn t even mention of his extended wait time. This was our last straw. We won t be back.
HORRIBLE!!! Cantonese Seafood Chow Mein the shrimp was way under cooked, the scallops were over cooked, dried out. The Honey Garlic Spareribs, were so over cooked it was mostly dried bones. The soup was upside down an dripping everywhere making the egg rolls soggy. When I called I received confrontation. She reluctantly agreed to replace the soup and eggs rolls. I didnt bother to call about the rest it feels pointless. I can only tell everyone I know, that they should take their business elsewhere. $90 wasted. Less than an hour later, I was on the toiled off and on for hours, with no end in sight.

Prices are ok to pay for. They have to wipe things down more. Because of fruit flies are always around when Im thete eating. But probably cant keep all them away. But clean abit more, even if Im in there eating. It be ok to clean when im thete ok.

Came here Saturday afternoon for some lunch specials. The food was fresh and delicious and the young woman working gave outstanding service and took great care of us. Very friendly. Wonton soup was fantastic. We will be recommending to friends.
Food is always great! They just need a more consistent delivery service. They seem to only deliver when their driver feels like it & they dont take deliveries orders after 7:30pm.

We ordered the food from the restaurant and all the Fried items smelled oil which was not good. Since the oil smell was not good the food did not taste good and fresh. Also the sweet-and-sour gravy was there in all the foods which made the whole food very sugary. Quantity so it was good but it is the taste of the oil which bothered me even after eating
This is my go to restaurant for Chinese food. I dont usually write a review but I just finished eating their stir fried veg, Kung Po chicken and Singapore rice noodles. It was the best prepared Chinese food Ive ever had.

Awesome experience with swift service
Saturday June 19th.. placed a takeout order and upon arriving home the food was bad... rice was sour and mixed veggies had jelly substance thru it and chicken balls were hard as rock... I only live 6min away so it was not the long drive home that did this. When I complained on their facebook page... they deleted it............
I m actually pausing eating my meal to post this review because the food is so good. Really good portion sizes. Egg rolls are crispy and filled to the brim. Food was well seasoned and they accommodated my special request(extra mushrooms in my Shanghai noodles, which btw were delicious). Thanks for an excellent dinner!

Ordered a combo 9 at 12:09 pm. They said the order will be ready in 10 mins. So 12:19. But it wasn t ready till 12:28. There were no utensils and I had to ask for them. Put the lunch packet on the passenger seat and this is what happened! My lunchtime was over without any lunch and I ended up cleaning the mess created by their poor quality packaging. Not recommended at all for picking up lunch.
I recently visited Heng Fung Restaurant for the first time because it was close to work. The quiet atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, and the food was terrific! My combo plate was very generous in portions and the prices are great value for quality food. Will be returning very soon!!

Was in for the first time today, Went in for a birthday supper with family and was not disappointed. The waitress was awesome and very friendly, the portions are generous, likely the biggest Ive seen at a Chinese restaurant. Im a big fella with a big appetite so i can appreciate that. And for what i got the price was reasonable. The egg rolls are delicious, as was everything, hot and fresh. and i had food to take home. This is my new go to for Chinese when Im in HRM. I live in Truro and it was well worth the drive.

Went there after hearing good things from a friend and the positive on line reviews. I used to be a regular at Fung Wah in Fairview and was looking forward to the same quality when I was told these were the same people. The staff were friendly, but the food was probably about the worst Chinese I have ever had. Stay away from anything with batter. And who uses powdered ginger instead of fresh to make ginger chicken? The portion sizes are still huge, but I wont be driving from Sackville again any time soon.

Great food, great service. They are quick to help you with takeout. Had an issue with our order, they gave us exactly what we wanted to make up for it. Had the replacement order ready and packed up when we returned. Perhaps some improved quality control would rectify the issue. Recommended.
Warning! Do not order from here we ordered food for lunch at work, mine was to be a vegetarian meal, however it was full of meat when it arrived. They were very rude when we called to tell them of the mistake. They refused to replace or refund for the food, were very nasty and argumentative. They even told my coworker she should give me the money back not them, that it wasnt their problem. Will never give them our business again.

Outstanding service. I ordered eggrolls and chicken lo mein, it was incredibly delicious! The woman in the front was so friendly and kindhearted, she made me feel welcomed within the restaurant. So many options its so hard to choose when everything is so good. Definitely coming back very soon!! Best Chinese restaurant in the hrm.

Ill be honest, all Canadian style Chinese Food tastes the same to me. So to me the food was fine. The customer service was good and the restaurant was clean. It is also the Chinese place my dad swears by, so Ill take his word on it.
Best Chinese food in the city by far ! One of the best Chinese food places I ve ever eaten. Their food is always fresh (dining in or take out) their portion sizes are HUGE and their prices are amazing, I definitely recommend trying. Their all meat eggrolls are the best I ve ever had, I ve been searching for so long for a good chicken lo mein and theirs is the best my husband always goes for the number 10 & 12. Everyone that I ve taken here also agrees it s one of the best Chinese places they have ever tried (I ve tried places all over Canada! )
You just turned away my business so you could leave on time. There s no excuse for this. Your hours say you close at 9 pm and you refused us a table at 825! If you haven t been informed... Businesses are struggling to stay open. Maybe your focus should be getting people in your door oppose you getting home to watch Netflix. This has happened too many times. Last time you turned us away at 815! Hopefully the pandemic doesn t shut your doors like some of your neighbours.

AMAZING food and even better service. We dined in earlier this evening and our server (we asked her name i believe it was Dallas) was so friendly and kind to us. She really went above and beyond to recommend great dishes and accommodate our needs. The portions are huge. We cannot wait to come back.

Its a good restaurant you get a good helping of food on your plate its good Chinese food we go there once a month try it yourself you have to be a big eater to eat the plate full they give good prices too and you can have a beer with your meal or wine
I got sick from their beef and broccoli that the waitress admitted was made first thing in the morning and sets there all day. The service was horrible. I would advise anybody steer clear from this place. No way did they want to make things right. Worst 40$ I ever spent.
