You Like It Chinese Restaurant in Dartmouth

I m happy to say I have received polite & prompt service each time I order from here. We eat from here often and generally get one of each special & share (between 2 people)But, my favourite dish is seafood Cantonese chowmein such generous portions and crunchy el Danté veggies.

I love the food and the egg rolls so good!

We have been ordering take out from here since they opened. We order our food and say what time we will pick it up as it takes 20-25 minutes driving from outside city limits to get there. The only regular item we order is the plain fried rice as all the rest of our order is varied. We try many of the items and if we want it spicier, ask & we get it. Favs are spring rolls, hot & sour soup , Chang Tang Curry Chicken/Pork/Beef, Szechuan Chicken, Ginger Chicken, Beef & Green Peppers, Black Pepper Beef, Almond Ding Dishes with meat, Curry Chicken/Pork/Beef. Always enough for two people-two meals +. Quick pleasant service even when we drop in. Have never done combo plates nor items with lots of batter/sauce such as Sweet Sour Chicken. Too many other dishes to try. Vegetarian options: Check out menu for veggie choices & the kitchen is willing to oblige customers request. Parking: About 8 spots out front/side. Problem can arise when trying to get out into traffic as Main Street can be busy & drivers are not obliging.

Always been great food and experience for us- dine in or take out. Never have had an issue with the food here.

We always do take out so no rating for atmosphere. The food is excellent, always piping hot and fresh. Great portion sizes, we always have tons of leftovers.

Food is great! Curry chik & kung po chik excellent. Only issue Singapore noodles v. dried out. Will def order again.

We dined in for a change, usually we take it home. The food is always fresh and hot. We didnt wait long before we were enjoying the food.

Their wonton noodle soup looks like it came from the dollar store. lol! It tasted cheap as well, maybe use the legit spices and noodles. So disappointed. What a waste of money. Will never order again!

Amazing tasty food. I ordered the dumplings, egg rolls, Singapore noodles, Chicken Balls, House Fried Rice, Shrimp and Lobster Sauce. Everything was hot fresh and tasty.

This is by far my favourite Chinese Restaurant! The food is all that , flavour is bursting on individual item! Hot and tasty with every bite. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming!

Bit of old place but has good food. Try the fried rice with the smoky flavour from the hot wok. Special Combo dishes are bit soggy but still good.

Usually get take out and the food is Awesome! Particularly love the house rice and lemon chicken!

This family owned business is lovely! They have THE BEST HOT & SOUR Soup in town!! Love it so much! Their overall menu is great as well. Lots of favourites! Always on time for my pick up orders and deliveries. Try this place out if you haven t already!

Pretty good, I enjoyed it. About what I expected to pay for a prepared meal and a large drink. Service was good. Place seemed clean enough if not a little dated. Would takeout again.

Our new favourite and so close to home! Had the bbq pork chow mein, ginger beef wonton soup and the recommended chicken dish! We are still eating but my partner can t stop talking about how good it is so I had to review immediately! I was so cold coming home from work today and the buses were all off schedule.. this is exactly what I needed! Thank you!

The food was actually the worse chinese food Ive ever had. What is with the pasty egg rolls.. yuck! A mountain of rice and 3 chicken balls and 4 ribs. Definitely too expensive for the portion. Will not order here again.

Very much not worth for the price. Beef and broccoli was sauceless, dry, disappointing. Ordered a combo and got lots of rice (obnoxious amount in comparison to the sides) got 4 chicken balls and 4 measley pieces of pork and the taste was not good. There are better places for Chinese IMO and you get better bang for your buck. First and last time ordering for here. Yeesh

I just love the lemon chicken, singapore noodles and their veggie spring rolls. Everything is fresh and delicious and delivered fast! Dietary restrictions: I always ask for my noodles without shrimp as im allergic and they are always great!

Ordered twice from You Like It and both times 5he food was excellent. First time was New Years when we ordered a large order of chicken balls for 8 people. Had to order the daybefore as we were traveling. Kept them in the fridge overnight and warmed them up the next evening, as directed by the owner, and they were delicious. Very meaty and excellent batter. Ordered again several days later and tried a variety of dishes, again everything was excellent. Will definitely patronize this restaurant in the future and highly recommend it to others.

Horrible Delivery Service Order over priced Beef and Broccoli. Delivery person showed up and walked into our home with no mask on. Completely avoiding all Covid 19 Protocols. The dinner had a single slice of beef and the rest broccoli for $35. We called back to explain the situation and was kindly told we would be refunded. After 1 day with no funds back into our account. We called back and was told you have no proof, no refund for you. Well no refund for us but we certainly will never be ever ordering from here again. Highly do not recommend.

The food is good here. I tried it for the first time when my friend ordered a combo for 10 for a birthday party. Great variety of dishes. Then I ordered take out and picked up in person. The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly. I ordered the special that night. General Tso chicken, chicken chow mein and fried rice with an egg roll. Prices are reasonable.

Was not impressed with the food quality. The beef chow mein was fairly bland and greasy. The sweet and sour pork was over cooked and dry. The spring rolls were the only thing that were ok. Would not eat here again.

Quaint a little out of the way. The food was very good as well as having good portions. Staff very friendly. Prices were quite good as well.

I had the General Tao chicken in a combo. It was spicy, complex, not too sweet, very fresh. Best Chinese food I have eaten in NS. We will definitely be going back soon.

The combos are of great value. Also they make really good sweet corn chicken soup.

Good Chinese food at a reasonable price. Food isnt anything out of the ordinary. But most Chinese restaurants in Halifax the food is either too sweet or very salty and this place wasnt as bad as others around. Also they have their own backup generators so during power outages, you can still get Chinese food.

First time trying this Restaurant.. The sweet and sour sauce was strong(brown sugar taste) and I was told egg rolls had a frozen taste to them. Maybe a once in awhile place for my family but not a regular one for Us..

First of all.. reading the comments I would not rate a place because its close to home. If your waiting more than 25 mins for food, keep your money and walk out. There are better restaurants than this I tell you

Enjoyed the lunch special, just $7.50 and coffee was only $1.00 which included a refill. Washrooms and dining area are clean, waitress very friendly. Meal was hot and delicious, and served quickly

After driving by this restaurant everyday for a long time I finally decided to stop in and see if they were any good. I ordered 2 combo plates to go for my husband and I and the prices were really good! The servings were huge and the taste was delicious! The value for your money was exceptional! It was only$13 per combo and we couldnt finish it all so there were plenty leftovers for the next day! The owners were extremely nice and friendly and I was very shocked at the size of the place when I went inside! Driving by all those times before, I had no idea how many tables they had inside! The food was cooked as soon as I placed my order and it was so fresh and so delicious and hot when I got home! Ill definitely go back many times! The only small issue about the location is that making a left turn to leave us not easy. Theres a lot of traffic as its a busy road on Main Street, Dartmouth. However I will say that the lights did line up well enough from both directions to give me the break to get out. I would earn people to use extreme caution in that area as many people driving by are speeding well over the 50km/hr zone. Many people are going at least 70 to 80 km/hr. Thats probably also why that location is known as a speed trap area. So overall, amazing food, excellent service, Ill definitely go back! I would recommend this place for anyone! Especially if youre looking to maybe have a get together or birthday party, theres at least enough seating for probably 30+ people in there! The restaurant was very clean and very welcoming.

A nice place outside city. Near to NSCC Berkeley campus. The owner is old Chinese man and his wife. Actually its a family owned and variety of Chinese food. Language barrier is there but overall a good one to try.

It was the first time I ate there but it will be the last I love chicken chow main and have eaten it at many restaurants theirs by far was the worst I have ever had all that was in it was bean sprouts and very little chicken I counted thin there was 6 pieces small and sliced very thin compared to many other restaurants who have lots of chicken water chestnuts onions etc will never go back people dont waste your money

Waitress is very nice. Not busy here at all,bathroom really clean. Food kinda funky by that i mean Never ha chinese food like that. Hot and sour soup had no spice to eat lits of sour from vinegar and too much of different stuff was like a stew. Egg rolls meat was nice and mushy but waybto much chinese 5 spice.

The quality of the food has gone down ALOT!!!! The egg rolls have hardly any meat the Wong tongs over cooked will not be going back thats for sure

Best Chinese food in Dartmouth! Obsessed with their beef egg rolls. Service is always quick and pleasant. Generous portions and great value for the money. Always closed on Mondays. They deliver, even on Christmas Eve, which is a family tradition. Restaurant dining room is basic but very clean.

First time hear we had a great lunch reasonable priced ,we had so much needed a doggie bag.Will return again someday.

Took half an hour longer than stated on phone to have the order ready for pick-up, and unfortunately once we got home we realized that a part of our order was missing. We have been assured that it is entered into their credit book so we can have it with our next order. Food tastes great, and everything seemed freshly made. Would definitely go back.
