The food here is phenomenal. It is the best chinese food that I've had in years. It's always fresh and delicious!
I ordered via SkipTheDishes. They could have decently placed the food. They just dumped everything together like they don't care how the customer would feel. It's not handling or the delivery, but it's really how the placed the food. Also, the taste isn't really good. It's so average. We cook better at home. With the price they charge, it's not worth it at all. I paid $70 for 3 combo meals. Money wasted.
A really good joint with nice food, especially the lunch combos. The lovely lady who serves during lunch hours is even better, truly amazing at customer service, warmth and politeness. This is one of the few remaining places where one get's a decent meal without the feel of spending every last penny.
Atmosphere nonexistent. Food has great potential but the quality isn't great. I ordered stir fry rice and I'm pretty sure it was microwaved.
Don’t do it. Ordered take out and can’t say I’ve had worse food in my life. Paid over $50 for two plates, what a scam. 100% do not recommend, not authentic at all
We have been stopping here for years, it has new owners and has had a facelift inside which looks good! The food is really good, they have good size combo plates, and gave an extra egg roll free for each combo plate. We will always eat here!
I have tried comb number 3 which comes with chicken fried rice , Chicken Chow mini with egg roll ..I liked egg roll, and other things were below average..hope he improves his receip better.
I've lived in the area over four years and just tried here last night for the first time, when out running errands with a friend. Around 7pm we pulled in and I was the only customer to order. The owner greeted me immediately and said the food would take about 10 minutes, which it did. The combination #3 (sweet & sour chicken, chicken chow mein, fried rice, with egg roll) was very satisfying. A somewhat large portion, decent flavor, lots of chicken in the balls. Actually you receive a 2nd egg roll for free when ordering any of the combination plates. I forget the price. Online I can only find their current menu on Skip the Dishes ($17) so I am sure it is probably $14 or 15 to order directly in person. I definitely will be back, especially bc I live so close that the food will still be hot when I get home. For a laugh, when we got home, we put on this episode of Trailer Park Boys from season two, where Ricky took Sarah for Chinese here at Yum Yum's! 2nd visit: A couple of weeks after the first (late Nov 2023) tried the Chicken Lo Mein. Not bad, salty but not too salty, good sized portion. 3rd visit: Another couple of weeks later (early Dec 2023). Tried the Kung Po Chicken, which was good as well, but not near as spicy as I expected, so if I got this again, I'd request spicier. Shanghai Noodles were good, the standard of what you get most places. Consistent so far, with the combination dinner being my favorite. Always about 10 minutes to get your food when you order in person. I'll be back.

Ordered takeout from Skip the dishes. Portions were ok but served the most horrible batch of takeout I ever had. 62$
Weve never had to throw food away because it literally made us sick to stomachs. We were there many months ago, can only assume the quality varies constantly as the comments suggest. One never goes back after such a bad experience though.
Was ripped off, just got noodles instead of noodles with vegetables and shrimp, will never order from them again, I phoned them and asked why my order was incorrect and they said they couldn t help me
This place is absolutely impeccable, it has brought me out of bed at times.. leaving anything less than a five star rating is a despicable act.
I was wrong when I expected some glossy noodles with heavy taste. They are not! We ordered three types of noodles, and each has its distinct colour. I didn t taste any MSG and each has its tasteful personality. Neither did I have hiccups after meal like other greasy Chinese takeout.

Never heard of this restaurant before decided to give it a try Im so glad I did! The food is incredible, the rice and Eggrolls are delicious! 10/10 from food to customer service . I will be back!

Food was flavourless, the chicken fried rice and the chicken noodles were SO bland. The chicken in the chicken balls was chewy. Was not expecting anything crazy but will not go here again and will not recommend. Food

Food was bland. Kung pao chicken was boring with no spicy heat. Rice was bland. Singapore noodle was disgusting. Tasted like curry spice was dumped on top and left dry. Like licking the spice right out of the jar. Eggroll was subpar. Never to order from again.

Best Chinese takeout Ive found. Very well priced and actualy all made there in the shop. I believe its run by a family. I go out of my way in trips into Dartmouth to eat here when I can. Sure its not the most well off looking place or location but its actualy great

This is first time I had bad experience with this location.This is Worst food ever I tasted, will never go backa again. I been there before when it was owned by other owners and food was very tasty. But now I am very upset and disappointed.waste of time and money . I ordered chow mein . I know this is not look like that ! Worst Chinese food I have had in the hrm. Super large portion but no flavor. Chicken fried rice was very bland with no vegetables at all. Ginger beef was very soggy with almost no flavour. Portion size doesnt make up for poor quality. Wouldnt order again.

This is the go to Chinese food restaurant I have found after a long search since living in Nova Scotia. When giving the rating I separate its rating category in comparison to going to a fine dining experience. So far I have had the items from a Dinner for 2 plus meat spring rolls. Nothing short of being blown away, every item was cooked as close to perfection you can get. Each item deserves a thorough review as they all genuinely surprised me but I shall not for both our sake: flavour, consistency, portions, and a truly harmonious balance of grease/oil/moisture in each item. I have not had a bad experience, I wont ever care even if I do. This establishment has both earned my respect and culinary appreciation. Please dont order from them on a food app. Its worth the effort.

A North Dartmouth institution. Good food for a reasonable price with fairly large portions. If you want a large helping of good Canadian Chinese food in North Dartmouth its the place to go.

Ive been looking forward to trying the the food now that its under new management. Ive been ordering from Yum Yum for well over 40yrs. Website and store signage all indicate they open at 12:30pm. Well, here I am...hungry and they are not open. Drove from Halifax to get here. Food MIGHT be good, but customer service is non existent at the moment.
The Yum Yum Special fried rice!! Cmon this not fried rice!! 3 small dice of pork, 3 tiny strands of chicken, 6 1cm sized shrimps,and big scoop of rice plus soa sauce.I could make that at home myself better than this. Waste of Money.The craving at night is not worth for this one. They increased the price for everything by 1 cad, decreased the portion sizes,and crapy food. Sorry.
When we lived in Dartmouth 20years ago we ordered from here often. Stopped by a week ago and ordered. We live about 20kms away from there now. Food was still piping hot when we got home. Was very delicious and still as good even though there are new owners. Stopped by tonight and ordered again. Once again awesome! Will be ordering from here any time we are in Dartmouth. Keep up the awesome food.
Went in order chicken fried rice. Only 8.80 plus tax for a chicken fried rice. Made it order pretty quick in like 5 minutes. The rice had no vegetables but decent amount of chicken pieces. Fried rice itself was pretty decent(just the way I told them to make it). Great Chinese menu options and combinations and good amount of parking outside the store. Overall, not a bad experience.
Amazing food. Consistently great, I ve always ordered their combo plates and ginger beef and have always had leftovers , Their portion size is generous and taste is amazing!

Staple of north end for sure. Its not what it was (or how i remember it) but i still devoured it and my giant kid loved it too.
Other then the rice, our combo plates were overly full of liquid which seeped through the paper bag. A sticky mess.
Food was bland and soggy. Eggrolls seemed like cheap frozen egg rolls.

well, i found they put too much soy sauce in their food. i have been to china but their fried rice is different. even in usa chinese foods are much more tasty. but in halifax atleast we have it.

Nice combos not that clean
Best place by a land slide for Chinese in the Halifax area. Egg rolls are one of a kind, ginger beef is perfect, chicken balls are to die for. A must have every time I m in the area.
This place is BOMB. Anytime we are on the east coast this is a must place to stop. They do take out only and the owners are really friendly. Strongly recommend: egg rolls, chicken or pork fried rice, ginger beef, chicken balls, spring rolls etc.
Always friendly and courteous service. Food is great no matter what you order. Ive had everything from the delicious egg rolls to the very tasty ginger beef. You wont regret this decision. Only take out available.
As someone who has eaten Chinese food everywhere, I can say this is garbage. Would not feed this to a dog.

Having sampled Chinese food all across the HRM, I like yum yums the absolute best! Great flavor in the rice, Crispy egg rolls, and soo guy. I havent had a bad plate yet! When I want Chinese I drive from middle sackville to Dartmouth to get yum yums!
