Delicious as always, clean plates

Always delicious whenever we go for breakfast dates! Weve loved everything on their menu so far including the bon Matin, the queen, the flatliner, and many of their sweet crepes to finish us off! I love the coloring sheets and crayons that are available and have seen other couples bring in cards for card games! Such a lovely atmosphere and super friendly for a first date I always look forward to the friendly workers greeting us with warm smiles and always giving good recommendations! Definitely one of our favorite places to eat!

Love the Bon Matin and Le Marais breakfast crepes and need to try ALL of them in time!! My only wish is that there was more seating. Id go more often if it was easier to get a table, because I find take-out not as enjoyable. Friendly and patient staff, where Ive overheard rude customers and staff handled them a lot more calmly than I would. Lol Dec 2022: the ham & Swiss is very good as well, with Dijon. I added an egg to make it breakfasty. Feb 2023: tried Le Fantastique (cheesecake, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, bananas, strawberries, chocolate sauce). It tastes as it sounds. Quite large in size so it was definitely a meal/dessert combo for me. This visit was around 1pm on a drizzly Monday so the place was almost empty. April 2023: got in right before they were closing at 3pm to grab the special Easter crepe with Mini Eggs, Nutella and cheesecake pieces. Just as good as it sounds. 2nd visit April 2023: tried the chicken queso for lunch and very good flavor. May 2023: the Lemon Sugar is very simple and thin, but fresh and perfect for spring. June 2023: the mushroom melt is great for any mushroom lover obviously. Simple, sautéed, garlicky, but not too much mushroom to give any sogginess. Nov 2024: the French Toast, from the sweet menu, is perfect, and not tooo sweet. The Queen (bacon, egg, cheddar, garlic aoli, roasted veg) is exactly what Ive been waiting for all alpng and a great well rounded savory breakfast option. Dec 2024: the candy cane cheesecake crepe is amazing! Beautifully decorated and not too sweet, as one would expect! The Eat Your Veggies is probably the healthiest one on the menu, and still very good. Balsamic vinegar at the first bite gave it an immediate hit of strength of flavor. The sweet potato, peppers, tomato & onion fill up the crepe more than others Ive had recently. Looks like grated carrot on top, but if it was, I couldnt tell. Pleasantly surprised overall by this one.

This place has been a banger since the day it opened. I used to come once a week when I lived downtown in Dartmouth. The food is delicious, options are great, staff are friendly, and the cafe aesthetic is charming. It s everything you want, wrapped in a little package. I hope one day they expand for more seating! Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options but not sure about vegan options Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free options

The staff are wonderful and the food is good, but the interior is just a little dingy and needs some love. Vegetarian options: Staff are more than willing to omit meats from made dishes and have a good selection of nonmeat options.

one of my favourite places to get brunch!!! their gluten friendly option is great and one of the only wraps/crepe that actually tastes delicious! the staff are always so friendly which makes it such a pleasant experience to eat there.

I have to say that I love this place, The Bon Matin Crepe is my favorite breakfast anywhere. I will never stop ordering this, its my treat. I miss being just down the road but I still stop by every 2-3 weeks for one on my way into Halifax. The service is always spectacular too

The Banana Split Crepe. SEND IT! Sooooo devine. Its like a donut inside a pancake inside a banana split. The coffee with the vanilla ice ice cream..Simple and Excellent. .Place could use an update. Tables wobble. Bathroom needs to be renovated. Staff great. We were there right before close so it wasnt busy.

Tasty. Vegetarian options: The menu includes pancakes with mushrooms, pancakes with fruit, and with chocolate. Kid-friendliness: I was with the children. They were delighted.

I love supporting local business and used to go here a lot with my husband from 2020-2023. It was very affordable before but it has gotten so expensive its no longer worth going. It costs about $20 per person if you get a coffee, which is on par with any high end breakfast restaurant in town. The location has cramped seating which doesnt seem to accommodate the volume of people that want to eat in here. Despite the amount of people eating in, they prioritized online orders when we went. I went in with my husband and roommate, and our roommate ordered right after us, yet we had gotten our food and eaten it while our roommate watched. 5 minutes after we had finished he just decided to get his to-go. The reason it was so late they said was because of online orders. I would expect any business to prioritize in person customers so this was surprising and disappointing. The food is really good but its just not worth the price and I sadly wont be visiting anymore. Edit: The online orders had nothing to do with the event yesterday as it was an in person event only. It wasnt extra packed because of the event either, there was no line; its just a small space and they were prioritizing online orders.

The service was great! I came in toward the end of their business day and was not made to feel rushed. I asked for recommendations and ordered one of the breakfast crepes suggested to me. Though it was quite delicious, the protein ingredient was sparse, or perhaps my expectation was for actual pieces of local bacon not only a few bacon bits.

Great food, excellent prices and fantastic service. Plus, where else are you going to get crepes? UPDATE- I eat here frequently and I have never had any complaints. This is a fantastic place that you really shouldnt miss!

Went there for lunch. I had the mushroom melt crepe, and added bacon. It was SO good. The mushrooms were delicious and the brie was melted so nicely! The crepe itself was light and fluffy as a crepe should be! Will definitely go back when I visit Halifax again! Parking: Streetside parking, free outside certain hours. However there is a paid parking lot right next to the restaurant, which had a number of spaces and was very reasonable price ($3/hr or so).

I had lunch there with 2 other people this Wednesday lunch (6/3/24) and we each ordered a savoury crepe (the pierogi, bon matin and chicken queso) along with a sweet one (the Jill), to divide among us 3. For drinks, 2 diet cokes and a bottle of water. The staff was really nice and offered an extra cup of diet coke on the house after one of my groups can of pop started fizzing out through the straw and overflowing. They constantly made sure we were enjoying the meal, and brought out The Jill as soon as we were done with our savoury crepes. A bit of a shame that the store is so small. Ventilation could be better (youll quickly realize the frying smell after a few minutes inside the creperie). But I do understand its limitations and appreciate what they had (great location). Vegetarian options: No trouble finding vegetarian options. The pierogi crepe was what the vegetarian person in my group ate, and they were also able to take a bite off my bon matin one by removing the bacon inside of it.

Small café, but wonderful staff and a good handful of tasty crêpes. They get extra points for having more than 1 vegetarian option! Definitely recommend. Vegetarian options: Meat is an extra add-on for savoury crêpes.

They have the best crepes that Ive eaten in a long time. Food was ready fairly quickly. There isnt alot of indoor seating, which is noticed more when the weather is poor. As there is limited outdoor seating as well.

Portland Street Crêperie is my wifes absolute favourite! Everything is delicious! Theyre all made after you order and in plain sight, its quite the talent. The Bon Matin and Chicken Queso are our go-to savory crêpes. And for dessert fans, the sweet crêpes are all amazing.

The staff are nice. But, the portion is disappointing. Stuffing is very little and the plate is for some reason so small that it is hard to avoid the food falling out of it. One scoop of ice cream was not really a complete one scoop. It is different from the pic I see in the past post. If the quantity was more generous, they would be for sure more popular.a coffee was a it small for the price, too:(.for lunch, one crepe may not satisfy you. May need a cup of soup to go with it. Also, it is completely self service, so why tips are asked ?

What a nice spot to stop in for quick brunch. The staff were incredibly lovely and the shop was clean. I personally wish there were more sweet crepe options with fruit that didn t involve chocolate or cheesecake, but can t do everything. When reading the savoury menu some of the options seem unusually, but they re on there for a reason. This building is wheelchair accessible, but it may be a little harder to navigate with mobility issues once inside, specifically if you come at a busy time. The washroom might be especially hard to reach in a wheelchair. I wish there was a little bit of art or something on the walls, but overall so lovely!

Amazing perogi crêpes

Spectacular in every way! We had a lovely interactions with fellow customers before we even got inside. The atmosphere was friendly and wholesome inside, they even changed the music as different demographics of people came in. We had a La Marais and they honoured an online only coupon to give us a Lemon Sugar Crêpe for free! Both were delicious and prepared perfectly. The staff was friendly & engaging, and made us feel comfortable and at home. Prices here are excellent! I havent felt like I paid a reasonable price for a meal out in years. A wonderful place, I highly recommend! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options, all good! Dietary restrictions: Many items can be made gluten free!

Counter service in a sit down restaurant, with three people out front not doing much, not being that friendly with customers. Food was OK, but I wasnt full and I wasnt impressed. Theres way better places to go for a simple Sunday breakfast for that price. I wouldnt go back.

We ordered the mushroom crepe which was definitely worth 5 stars. Additionally I also got the baseline and although I would have appreciated more bacon/banana filling inside, I definitely enjoyed the cook on the bacon. The staff was friendly and overall a good spot.

Food is delicious, but not a large portion! Great for a small meal, but not great if you are ++hungies. Right off Portland, so often there is no parking. I did not see an automated door if you were to need that accessibility!

Bubble waffles were freshly made. Waffles are on the soft side so it was hard to eat but still delicious.

Best Creps in Halifax worth the drive

During our weekend getaway to see the Buskers, we decided to take a ferry ride across to the Darthmouth side. Not being familiar at all with the area, we ventured up Portland Street and came upon this little gem . Upon entering, we were greeted by the friendly staff, and we ordered the strawberry shortcake waffle ice cream cones. We enjoyed our delicious treats by sitting outside at the small bistro table thats placed by the front entrance. It sure did hit the spot . We will definitely return on our future trips to the big city. Ohh La La is right

The owner is a cool guy who is usually present looking over his business. staff are friendly local young people who are really clean. they wear gloves and change them often and the restaurant is spotless and smells so good! i like this place so much

Mushroom crepe might be good if it wasn t ruined with mayo. Also tried the apple sauce peanut goat cheese one, good but strange! Not as good as a Montreal crepe but maybe the sweet ones are better

I moved out of Nova Scotia over a year ago and have missed Portland Street Creperie every day since THE best crepes, service, menu and options. I havent been able to find a creperie that comes close! Looking forward to the next time I visit to come again ! :)

Was looking for somewhere to get a few pieces for a picnic at the Darmouth Commons and was blown away at how yummy the food was from here! My wife and I each got a savoury crepe and shared them, we loved them both! Such exceptional flavour combinations! We also got a Nutella crepe for our twins to split and since I mentioned twins they went the extra mile and cut it in half, putting each half in their own box with extra napkins and cutlery. We didnt ask them to do this they are just very thoughtful as well! I highly recommend trying this place out! Maybe try a picnic at the Darmouth Commons. (No pictures because we ate it too fast and realized afterwards).

I went in to get some ice cream for me and my Girlfriend, and ended up leaving the man that serves us was picking at his nose, and wiping the sweat off his face, afterwards he grabbed a cone with his bare hands. When I asked if he could wash his hands first he told me he would use sanitizer, and then put the cone back in with the other cones. Ive never seen such uncleanliness. I dont recommend this place.

I went here for the first time today with my husband. I got a darkside bubble waffle cone and he got a salted caramel bubble waffle cone. We also got a crepe (The Jill) to share. My cone was delicious and very chocolatey. The crepe was also delicious and not too sweet. I really enjoyed it. Well definitely be back to try some savoury crepes.

Been a customer here for awhile now. I find the quality of a lot of places these days to be absolutely terrible (like Cora for example) but this place is great. Owner cares a lot about his customers. I am a tough man to please, but this place consistently does it.
