Intimate and stylish, Taylor's is a beautiful restaurant to enjoy delicious food using some of the west country's finest ingredients whilst enjoying fine harbourside views.
A perfect restaurant. Wonderful food and knowledgeable, friendly and engaging staff. Couldn't recommend more.
We had a lovely meal here last week Great food, service was fab too Very much enjoyed it Thanks!
Taylor’s is a comparatively small, first floor restaurant accessed by stairs. It has a pleasant atmosphere with attentive staff and a fine menu. We had rib eye steak and sea bass and both of us thought our dishes were very good. The wine list has a good choice of red, white and sparkling.
Lovely restaurant, attentive service. Their dishes were amazing - lobster, prawns and scallops served in a lobster shell, aswell as the lamb and starters. Beautifully presented and great tasting.
Excellent all round, really enjoyed my seabass, great views and service excellent, highly recommend.
Lovely restaurant with very attentive service. Their special dish was amazing - lobster, prawns and scallops served in a lobster shell. Beautifully presented and great tasting. Perhaps my favourite place in Dartmouth so far.
Lovely location upstairs with a view overlooking the harbour. Not a huge restaurant so staff were very attentive. Our food was perfect. Good mix of choices on the menu. A very enjoyable evening.
We were impressed by the prompt friendly service. The food was exquisite and beautifully presented. It’s a small and expensive restaurant so for special occasions (most of the tables were there for a birthday). Also well situated with an impressive view of the river Dart. 10% recommended!
Certainly not the cheapest place in town, but the food and service is exceptional. 10/10
AWFUL! PUBIC HAIR IN SOUP Patronising arrogant owner serves highly over priced pub grub to her audience she likes to hold court over customers. Grubby scratched glasses predominate as well as badly washed cutlery. Watch out for huge mark up on not great wines. Much better within 10 mins walk. Avoid.
Whats not to like about this restaurant. The starters and main courses superb. Nicely busy, service was excellent and perfect timing between courses. Couldnt have asked for any better.
Superb in every way
Pleasant cooking spolit by rude owner woman. Opinionated and very patronising.
Delicious meal celebrating new years eve eve!!
The quality of the food is sublime and service is second to none. I highly recommend. Vegetarian options: Limited options but what was available was beautifully prepared and tasted incredible.
Delicious and well executed dishes. Would have given a Five Star review but was unrelaxed and constantly interrupted by service over my head and shoulder. Would return but definitely ask for a table not six inches away from other dining couple!
Great location. Really exceptional food and wine. Friendly service.
Fabulous evening, wonderful dishes, delicious wines, impeccable service with beautiful views. Thank you.
An amazing restaurant with stunning food and great service. Absolutely fabulous all round.
We had an excellent dinner there. The fish were very good, very tasty. The setting, above the quays, is very pleasant. The service is impeccable. Obviously the prices are in unison.
A really special place with excellent food, particularly fish, and great service. Amazing view out over the boat float and river. We were given the table in the large bay window which made our visit extra special. Id recommend this place for any special occasion. If youre lucky you might even spot a local celeb dining there.
Double birthday celebration and a golden wedding anniversary so chose Taylors for a special dinner. Food was excellent, choice and quality. Wine was highly priced. Staff were pleasant but not terribly effusive or informative in terms of talking through the menu or topping up our wine glasses.
Decent cookery, good service, prices are a little ambitious but reflect the intricate nature / lack of table turnover / one sitting for evening covers. Overall decent
Great service, delicious food and smashing view . We came here last year with friends and really enjoyed it and second time around we were not disappointed. Absolutely lovely.
This our favourite restaurant and we have visited when in the area for the past 18 years. Pauline and Peter deserve all the praise in personalising the experience and quality of food and atmosphere. Covid has restricted our visits over the past two years and we were disappointed that they are closed to evenings only and maybe retiring. Hope to get there again soon and have one of our favourites Dover Sole Brian and Mary Coxall
Simply the best restaurant in Dartmouth for superb dining, great atmosphere and a lovely view of the harbour. Loved it.
Excellent food and service. We had a wonderful meal.
Delicious food with amazing views. Sea bass was delicious.
Dined on Saturday evening after not having eaten her for years and we were not disappointed. The Scallops were excellent and the Red Thai Monkfish Curry was one of the best I have probably had and the service superb, I would highly recommend.
Service good. However overpriced for quality of food. Both felt that our fish was overcooked
Superb food. Probably the best scallops I have ever tasted. Lovely environment and extremely efficient, knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Great venue and great food overlooking Dartmouth estuary. The device is first class
Lovely food, bit expensive but good quality. I had fillet mignon very tasty, but too large a portion for me to eat, dont like waste, would be great if they did two sizes.
If there were six stars, Id give six. In my estimation the best restaurant in Dartmouth, and if you can get a window seat, the best view from a restaurant in Dartmouth.
Beautiful food, great views/ location.
Very lovely dining area, staff were very helpful and friendly. The waiting time was very short and fast service. Standard of food was also really great, all around really lovely place.
September 2020 when we visited everything was top class. Lobster was great and the fish dishes were served with scallops. 5 stars!!!! We all loved it and one of the main reasons we came back to Dartmouth. Unfortunately September 2021 and no lobster and the fish dishes were served with no scallops and it seemed a lot more basic food, but prices remained the same. No where near as good although I did enjoy my steak. The duck and lamb my family had wasnt great.
What a wonderful lunch, food, wine and service all excellent. So good we have booked again.
The best food in Dartmouth and probably for many miles around too. Impossible to fault in any way.
Absolutely divine!! From the olives, the soup, prawns, the bread, the skinny chips even!! Gorgeous interior, fab view and friendly professional staff! Compliments to the chef too!!
lovely room. excellent food. will be going back.
Had a wonderful evening at Taylors. The whole evening was a wonderful experience. The ambience, food and service was truly fabulous. Thank you.
Fantastic ambience, sit in the window should you be able, gorgeous menu, and great service, but remember to book!
Top quality food in a lovely setting at a reasonable price. Confit duck and chocolate orange pot from the fixed price menu were delicious. Will definitely go again when next in Dartmouth.
Favourite restaurant in Dartmouth. This restaurant is really special with outstanding views, amazing food and wonderful service. We love coming here and wish it well til the next time
I cant believe that we have not visited this restaurant for a few years but we will definitely be back again the next time we are in the area. We had 3 courses that were very well cooked and we presented. It was very good value for money for a meal of that quality.
Food looked beautiful and tasted fantastic
Absolutely amazing! Went for lunch, the crab and lobster salads were beautifully presented. Great service and beautiful setting.
We have eaten here every time weve visited Dartmouth and is always consistently excellent. Delicious!!
Great place. Very good food and excellent service. Recommended in the area with otherwise few places to eat decently
We were visiting the area and booked before attending. What a great place to eat.We were met by staff and couple of covid checks and then taken upstairs the decor was very grown up.Staff were friendly, professional and social distancing was used were possible. The food was great but possibly a little expensive but the experience was great. We both had the crab which was great and piping hot though the portion was quite big we both had difficulty finishing it.My partner had fillet mignon and he said it was beautiful and I had the lobster again was beautiful. Sadly we didnt have room for dessert. Would go again if in area.
We visited in early September twice whilst we were staying in Dartmouth. The whole experience was very good. The safety measures that they had implemented for Covid 19 were excellent without being intrusive and did not spoil our dining experience and we all felt really safe. The food and service were outstanding and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
Lovely food and excellent staff
Really nice restaurant with quality food in a nice location
Atmospheric restaurant serving quality food
One of our favourite restaurants in Dartmouth, we always have a lovely special meal there and it has a super view over the river.
Really good food. Very friendly staff. Had informed them it was my wifes birthday. She was nicely greeted. Her dessert plate came nicely decorated with happy birthday and candle. Excellent place to dine.
Booked over Internet, fast reply. Pleasant reception, efficient and very friendly service. Food very good Excellent views from restaurant Would recommend it although not cheap but good value for money
Wonderful food, excellent service.
I took my wife here for lunch on her birthday and we were very impressed. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, the views from the window of Dartmouth harbour are lovely and the food was exceptional. We ate from the lunchtime set menu which was great value. Will definitely go back!
Excellent meal, really well looked after. Thoroughly enjoyed
Michelin quality!! Just awesome everything about the eating experience was perfect xxx will recommend to anyone who loves beautiful food and service xxxx
The greeting and service was good, the food ok. Did not appreciate being 1 from adjacent table.
Stunning food and service could not fault. Food arrived at the right time. Small intimate restaurant. Booking before probably best if possible.
Was a nice meal but service was quite slow. Lovely starters but main was average and so not quite worth the price. Generally we had a decent evening but went away feeling overcharged.
Overpriced & underwhelming Dartmouth has a whole host of excellent, restaurants with pleasant, efficient, informed staff serving delicious well-presented food. Taylors is NOT one of them.
Fantastic food and service thank you we will definitely be back xx
Excellent in every respect; food, service, wine, decor, views. Super place.
Quality food,service and location
Superb meal again!
Luvly food, they cure their own duck which was delicious. View suburb and very helpful staff and owner. Recommend.
Best lamb Ive ever had, excellent service.
Repeat visit because it has Benn so good and still is.
Delicious.
Very very fine, lovely place
Delicious food, awesome view on the harbour.
Very good evening meal with a lovely ambience. Had the best confit duck I can remember.
Very good food.
Great Restaurant and Great View
Exceptional food and the atmosphere excelled all my expectations. What a culinary delight restaurant
I could wax lyrical about Taylors Restaurant, across the street from the boat float in Dartmouth. The beauty of the restaurant itself; the utterly remarkable staff; the equally remarkable, beautiful food; but I wont. I have visited this restaurant several times over the years, sadly because of geography not as often as I would like; so Ill simply say this .... Taylors Restaurant is a very, very special place; if you possibly can, make a reservation, and go there. Take with you someone who means the world to you, and everything will come together to make it an experience neither of you will ever forget. And, if humanly possible, have a table at the bay window, looking out and across to the river Dart. Sheer magic. True beauty, in everything that they do, and the way they will look after you.
Fabulous food and great service.
Taylors is without doubt one of the best restaurants I have ever been to, the staff are friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and wine and the food is just superb I and my wife cannot rate this Restaurant enough, looking forward to going again soon.
Went to Taylors 60th anniversary, staff were very friendly & attentive, food fantastic, lobster was to die for!! Would recomend a must if visiting Dartmouth.
Quirky small restaurant, nice decor, starters were amazing but the main of lobster was let down by not a alot of lobster and the sauce over powering the dish by just tasting like butter. Scallops were cooked well and nice away from the sauce
Lovely views very pleasant staff, and the food was delicious.
The best restaurant in town
Wonderful food with great service. Highly recommended
We had a fantastic meal at Taylors following a recommendation to try it. The food was delicious and both myself and my husband were made to feel special the whole time, the staff are fantastic a real credit to the restaurant. Will definitely eat there again when visiting Dartmouth.
Excellent service. Excellent food. Great views
A great place for an evening. Once booked the table is yours for the evening so a relaxing, social meal. To be thoroughly recommended.
