The Haddock meal eas very dry. BUT the amount of vegetables was outrageous. Literally, a table spoon was given. I ask the waitress, what is this and she said oh, that's small, I said,I it wasn't enough for a baby. The cook should be let go but apparently new owners is why the place has fallen apart. We will never eat there again and I will spread the word to Facebook. $131.00 total and I left hungry. Wife and son was ok with the food but mine,never again.
Ordered the burger and it came out too dry to eat! Also was cold and my friend’s pasta was cold. I sent the burger back and ordered shrimp and chorizo pasta which ALSO came out lukewarm!!! Then was asked to pay for it all!!! Not cool.
I ordered pork. My food came burnt. I asked as soon as I saw it and they said it wasn't burnt, it was the sauce on top. When I tasted it, it tasted like charcoal. It was my first time there and it was a very bad experience for me. I never go to again.
Delightful neighborhood restaurant. Jess served us and she was wonderful. The roast beef dip is superb. The citrus vinegarette dressing is fresh and lovely. The other pleasant feature is there is no noise...one can actually engage in a conversation without having to compete with a musical racket. Recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly.
This Pub was recommended by a local, and did not dissappoint. Food was plentiful and very hot, Beer battered fish was cooked perfect, juicy inside, crispy coating, french fries soft but crispy, gravy was thick and execellent, Pesto Grilled Chicken Sandwich was juicy, not overcooked, thick toasted bread, garlic aioli was very tasty with fries, Beef dip on a bun with grilled oinions and mushrooms and cheese and au jus, beef was tender, fries were hot and tender inside. Staff and service was awesome from the moment we walked in the door, server was checking on us regularly and very polite filling our needs. Very pleased overall. I am from Hamilton, Ontario and will definately stop in the next time I am here
We decided to try a new place today. I had the burger of the month which was Two Boys Smokehouse and Deli Beef Patty blended with Chirizo Sausage from Vessel meats, lettuce, house made rum bbq sauce and topped with potato frites. Served with hand cut fries. The fries served were old, the burger bun was too much bread for me (kind of like eating a roll before you get to the good stuff), the sauce was good but I felt it would have been better on something like ribs as it overtook the flavour of the entire meal allowing me to taste nothing other than the bits of charred sauce. For the 18$ price point it also didn’t fill me either. The wife had Baked Chicken Breast Sandwich Marinated with Sundried Tomatoes & Garlic, w/ a Pesto & Garlic Mayo, w/ Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato, on a toasted French bread, with a Citrus dressed Salad. There was nothing special to write home on this one. The child had Fish & Chips with steamed veggies and a cup of ice Cream. She was not too amused at the zucchini or the breading on the fish (usually a fan of a tougher batter but it looked like it was baked) Overall service was good but for the price point we walked away hungry with meals we didn’t enjoy. The atmosphere is great but the tables are too tiny for a table of four. Lovely interior finishes to look at.
My mother and I were in town for a celebration and our hotel was near by so we decided to check out the pub. Atmosphere and decor were wonderful. Our waitress Molly was new, but super helpful and pleasant. We tried the fish and chips and the potato skins. Both items were top notch! And what a selection of adult beverages and rotating taps!!! We were impressed and I'll be returning very soon with my husband. Can't wait!
A long standing Dartmouth gem in the heart of Cole Harbour. I've been eating here for nearly 10+ years now. It's usually the Thursday wing night spot but also a wonderful date night location! The owner, Crissy, is a sweetheart and always makes time to say hello and welcome us. I'm yet to have a bad meal here and always enjoy trying new items from the menu.
One of the best Irish pubs in Halifax. All of the food is freshly made and wonderfully delicious. The service is always exceptional.
cajun chicken sandwich is amazing 10/10 would recommend you try it. inside the restaurant it is a bit loud but welcoming. service is also pretty good

Food was very delicious! The restaurant could do with a bit of a make over to be a little more upmarket. Dress code should be applied. Please no hats and ball caps. It is so very rude to wear a hat in a restaurant. I wish more restaurants would adhere to a more stylish dress code.

Ive been in Cole Harbor for four years, and Ive never known this pub existed ate there Friday night, and I can honestly say the food was by far the most delicious food Ive ever tasted I will certainly be eating there more often if you havent tried this pub do so asap you wont be disappointed.
Had the blackened salmon that was served on a mound of luke warm mashed potatoes. The mango salsa was disappointing as it was missing sweet, delicious mango. Instead, there was a few bits of unripe mango that had no flavour. I would not order this dish again. Had so much potential. I wont be rushing back to Jamiesons.

We were extremely disappointed with our curry chicken pasta, the taste was very bland , no sweetness from from maple syrup or any flavor, absolutely tasteless, doesnt come with any garlic bread. The chicken was tasteless, squishy and gross along with the overcooked peppers and zucchini. We will never go back as there are lots of places with much better food and service. Our server never asked how our food was. Definitely a disappointment....
Friday afternoon two tables, two servers. I sat at the bar waited 5 minutes. Staff see me, no one acknowledges my presence. After 7 minutes not even a hello. I left on principle. The owner of the Mic Mac Tavern told me if you every sit down and it takes longer than two minutes for someone to say hello or take a drink order. Its not worth the squeeze. Last night was my first ever visit here, surprisingly, after living in HRM about 18 yrs out of my adult life. A friend and I were going to grab a meal elsewhere, but it was full, so he then suggested here. The place is smaller inside than I envisioned, not to say its actually small. Seating for 60 or 70 maybe? Your typical pub atmosphere. Friendly staff. He had the crispy chicken sandwich, which was quite large and he said not bad at all. I tried the potato skins. Although the cheese, green onion & real bacon bits were basically all thrown into the center of the plate vs being more dispersed, it was still tasty and decent overall. I ate every last crumb, as the potato wasnt burnt to a crisp, which you often find, more a soft potato chip texture. Id go back anytime.

Absolutely excellent service. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive, no wasted trips. Our glasses were never empty and there was never a moment that we needed something before she already brought it. I had of the best steaks I ve ever eaten and the poached pear salad was also delicious. Hubby got the Cajun chicken burger and said it was absolutely fantastic, and his go to potato skins that he says are the best he s ever had. Wonderful experience and we will be back Parking: Plenty of parking infront of restaurant.

We went to this place for the first time last night it was a planned birthday celebration . My daughter made reservations for 630pm. We waited almost an hour for food although not a huge deal it was def longer than a typical wait time. We finally got our food the majority was not great and the portion size left is hungry for sure. The waiter was polite but things just seems very chaotic . Last but not least the icing on the cake no pun intended lol. The bill came and well the look on my daughters face said it all. I asked what was wrong and she said oh nothing mom they just forgot the most important part. My daughter and boyfriend approached the staff to tell them they forgot to bring out the cake. The guys response was lol oh my that would have been funny if I found the cake in the morning really? I was kinda stunned no apology no nothing. I called to speak to the owner after leaving and still no response back. I will not be back to this locally owned place and I hope this horrible situation doesn t happen to someone else on their birthday. (Update) The owner has called me back and was extremely apologetic. I am happy that they took the time out of their busy day to resolve this matter This goes to show that Great owners care about the customers(maybe it was just a bad day and things happen). We will just let the dust settle a little and give it another try in the future. Thanks again!
Went there to dine in and the lady at the door took us and put us in the corner at a table that wasnt big enough for 2 people to eat at and she basically throw the menus on the table and walked away. Not I impressed with this place and we left . Will not ever go back.
Very unfriendly woman served us , she had long black hair ..took us to the worst table so small she slammed the menues down and walk away..we ask the waiter for a another table ..he went over and ask the same woman if there were any she just laughed. .we got up and left, brutal ...place do not recommend. .
It took a long time for the food to arrive. About 45 min for a burger. It was busy when we got there but was emptying out as we waited. The food was fine, The beer was fast and cold. First time there. Food
I went for lunch here with a friend. The service was great but the atmosphere was very dark and tavern like and not cozy at all. We ordered the Irish curry and chips to share and they had zero flavour. They are literally just the peels from potatoes you would normally toss in the compost with no actual potato flesh to them. The dip was pretty bland as well. For mains we ordered the maple curry chicken penne and the special which was chicken and mushroom linguine. The penne was overly seasoned with curry and the dish had a gritty texture from so much curry powder being in it. It was almost like they poured too much curry in but instead of starting over they just tried to make it work. My friend said her linguine was good. For dessert we ordered the salted caramel cheesecake. It looked great but unfortunately the flavour was lacking as well. It was my first time going to Jamieson s and I won t return nor recommend.
Held my daughter s birthday celebration at this location on a Sunday afternoon. We were served by Susan who was lovely and attentive to everyone in our group. Our food arrived in timely manner given the number of guests. The appetizers were delicious and shareable (nachos and potato skins). Our main meals all arrived hot, well presented and in an appropriate size. The restaurant allows guests to bring their own cake to celebrate the occasion (which often isn t permitted in other establishments). The atmosphere was quaint and clean, as one would expect from a local neighborhood pub! We appreciate the community feel this restaurant brings and we highly recommend!
Just back from enjoying Jamiesons Fish Tacos ( one of my many favorites on the menu!!) GREAT service as ususal and even tastier meal once again ............. My favorite restaurant all around and ALWAYS consistent ! Satisfied with another full belly once again .

I discovered Jamiesons just before Covid and have been a loyal patron ever since. I m a foodie so let s start with that! I have multiple favourites. The maple curry chicken pasta is absolutely amazing with just enough maple to please your tastebuds and so creamy! We have a group of friends who frequently gather there for supper and we all eat this same dish. The shrimp tacos are the perfect tangy lunch for me. I m a fan of spice and these have some kick to them. They remind me of Mexico and always make me happy plus they re full of fresh ingredients for the win! I know that the talented kitchen staff will accommodate dietary requests and adjust the meals to your liking. I don t want to make the review too long but the chowder and fish and chips are also favourites. I also love the local beer selection and always try something new! I d love to keep the salted caramel cheesecake to myself but that s just wrong! It s fabulous! My favourite thing about Jamieson s is Crissy and her amazing staff! They each would stop at nothing to make your vision everything it can be and exceed expectations. In today s economy, we are all struggling for more value for our dollar. Jamieson s has kept its prices very reasonable and maintains quality and variety. Supporting our local businesses is so important for our province. I m happy to support Jamieson s every chance i get. Dietary restrictions: I have a friend with specific dietary restrictions and i ve seen the staff do all they can to make sure she is happy. Parking: Ample parking

I love Jamiesons Irish House & Grill for the delicious food, amazing staff/service and the fun, calming atmosphere. I have a few allergies and they have never made me feel like I was putting them out because I changed items on the menu. I am always greeted with a smile and a kind word. I highly recommend eating here or popping in for one of the many beers on tap.
Great food. Clean. Service was very nice and accommodating to my daughters and slow choice picking. Tables in the main eating area are a bit too tight is the only issue I had, but we got lucky and put in an area that was not crowded.. overall very nice place. Prices match the quality of food you get and worth it.. seafood chowder is the best I have had in a long time.
This was our first time here and we will be back all thanks to our great server Kaylee, she made us feel very welcome, she was attentive and she made an effort to connect with everyone at the table. The food was also really good. The potato skins were superb, the fish and chips were cooked perfectly, and the beef dip layered thick with actuall au jus. Amazing whiskey selection.

The waitress was wonderful. Wish I could say the same about the food. Spent 20 bucks on food and left starving. The special was Cajun haddock on citrus salad with mango dsg in actuality we got two bites of barely seasoned haddock on a sad bed of greens with maybe a sprinkle of dsg and the tiniest diced bits of some kind of tasteless fruit/veg? Very sad attempt at what could have been a lovely lunch.
Usual prompt service did not happen this visit. Waited 1 hour and 25 minutes for our meals while many other patrons received their meals. All items ordered not listed below.

This is my favorite place to bring coworkers from out of town. Great food, local beer choices, Wonderful staff. They also have lunch sized pastas and lighter meals. Try the maple curry chicken!

After hearing all the hype for years about this place I was looking forward to trying it. I was very disappointed with our meal. The Curry and chips were flavorless, and not crispy. The beef dip was decent but nothing special. Nice atmosphere and decorating and service was quick and great. Im in no rush to return anytime soon! Would not recommend!

Recommend by our bnb host, we headed out for dinner last night and had a wonderful time. The staff was fun, helpful and attentive. The food was AMAZING! We had Mussels for an appetizer the brazed lamb and shrimp and chorizo pasta followed by cheesecake for dessert. We loved every bite! If I could give more than five stars I would!

A wonderful meal!! Hubby and I had gone to Jamiesons many years ago and I remember having a delicious meal. Since we had an appointment nearby, we thought we would try it again. OMG!! Just as good as I remembered!! We shared our whole meal. Mushroom caps appetizer, BackBacon burger with fries, and the Fish Tacos (Ive never had before) which were on special and so so good. Cant wait to go back

Lovely service. Great ambiance. Fantastic fish and chips! Tea was also lovely. I think it was Tetley and if you are a tea drinker that matters. David loved the coffee too! We shared the carmel cheesecake and it was a winner. All in all a great lunch. We will be back! No photos, too busy in joy with lunch.

One of the most disappointing dining experiences I ve ever had. Staff seemed friendly enough, until they saw our four young kids. The male bartender/server couldn t hide his irritation but I don t think he cared enough to even try. Greeted blankly by a do you have a reso and brought to a table they had to make for us with no boosters, high chairs or offers for either. I had to ensue a server-search with my flailing 1.5 year old to ask for a high chair to which he brought a booster seat. Cool cool cool. No biggie. The thing that got me the most was that our mere existence was like nails on a chalk board for this dude. It s like he had never seen children before. He answered normal questions slowly with a confused inondation like nobody has ever had the audacity to ask him for crayons before. He was weirdly confused when we requested two plates for a kids meal (again, these are literal toddlers who eat 3 bites). Listen, I get it. My baby was fussy. It s not a server s dream table. But isn t this a family restaurant? When I opted to wrangle my children vs ordering my own meal right away (had planned on surrendering to takeout), he crassly asked if I d be sharing the kids meal too. Would ve been a knee-slapper had this guy not been so cold. This was all followed by the normal, almost to-be-expected treatment you know, not following up after we got our food, getting annoyed when we needed something, clearing the plates but not bringing (or offering) the kids desserts that came with their meals, waiting 25 minutes to bring the bill, etc. But what wasn t expected, or should ever be tolerated, was feeling like a complete burden for bothering them with our supper tonight. Don t take yourselves so seriously, Jamiesons. Nobody is there for fine dining. Pinky promise.

New years eve dinner, had to be ordered by phone, it took an hour and a half to get through. Our appointment to pick up was made for 7:30PM, and although we arrived 10 minutes early, they were 20 minutes late with our order. The food was very good, im just very disappointed in the service. Due to Covid-19, this was take out only, which means that there were no east in customers, and our order was placed 5 hours in advance. Theres no good excuse for this.

My wife and i had a great meal last night. 21 April 2021. My wife had the crusted salmon and i had the lamb shanks. Both meals were done to perfection. The wine and the Manchester born waitress were great. I would definately recommend Jamiesons.

Just picked up an order of haddock almandine. The most over cooked dried out piece of fish I ve ever ( not ) eaten..... time for a new chef. Never eat here again
I have been here three times. The first time I had the spicy shrimp and sausage pasta and it was very good and very spicy. The second time I had the fish tacos and they were delicious. But today, I wanted to try the wings. And Im sorry to say it but their wings were not good. I did eat them because I was hungry and they only serve their wings that way so I had no choice but to eat them. Anyhow, I like my wings fried to a level of crispyness especially if they are not breaded (which the server said that is the only way they serve their wings: not breaded). But the wings were like boiled then covered with sauce. Im sure they didnt boil them but the fry was not crispy or and no fried texture. Very disappointing. They need to improve their wings because there are other places that serve way better wings. Lesson learned: dont order the wings. But, fish tacos were great. So, there. 3 stars.

Really enjoyed the food. As an Irish Pub I was disappointed they had a very poor selection of Irish beer.....only one choice for Irish beer.
Great place for a quick pint or stay and enjoy dinner. The service was fast & professional (and friendly). The tables are a little tight in places but the friendly atmosphere more than makes up for a little crowding. NOTE - this place is busy at dinner time, come a little early. Food we ordered (burger & fries & salad) was tasty- good size portions. Next time we are in Cole Harbour a second visit will be a definite in the plan.

Not my first visit to Jamiesons, and like my previous visits, great food and service. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend Jamiesons to anyone, for a first time visit. Like myself, they would become regulars.
