184 Wyse Rd, Dartmouth, NS B3A 1M9, Canada
Unfussy eatery serving sushi & basic Japanese & Thai mains, with dim sum & all-you-can-eat options.
Loved the prompt service. We walked in and were eating the 1st portion to our order within 5 minutes. The food was out standing and the environment allowed for relaxing family time.
The food quality was pretty good. I recommend the sushi pizza! Ordering is marking on a physical paper menu, as compared to using a tablet. The service was pretty fast, and not too much interaction. The price is typical. You can get it cheaper if you go earlier in the day for lunch.
Came here to eat the all you can eat dinner. The server was super friendly and the food was delicious! Good food portions and food tasted fresh. We got so much food. Nearly half of the menu for such a good price.
I almost never give negative reviews but it's my absolute pleasure to give this one. When my wife, two kids and I walked in there was only one other table of 3 there and the rest of the place was empty. Awesome since we'll definitely be on the receiving end of some quick service, right? Nope... Two other tables walked in after us, and both got their food before we even got water to drink. The only "service" we got was having the menus dropped off at our table. No offer to answer any questions or drink offers. After 20 minutes of trying to get someone's attention (It's as if they were ignoring us on purpose. Eye contact was made multiple times) we just gave up and walked out. We passed two wait staff on our way out, both of which paid us no attention whatsoever. I'm glad they had no interest in our money. It was a pleasure spending at New Panda Buffet instead. Keep up the great work, guys. I'm sure this service is working wonders for your reputation 👏
Everything is in reasonably small portions, that you can order multiple times. The food was delicious, of course there was a few things I tried and didn't like, but it is a good place to try things due to their small portions. My favorite was the broccoli and garlic.
The food was delicious, some of the best I've had at a buffet. There's a huge selection with lots of options for vegetarians. I recommend the sesame chicken, cheese wontons, beef wrapped spring onions, buttery mushrooms, fried coconut milk, and custard buns. It got quite busy even on a weekday night, so the staff was very hurried and we had to call multiple times for water, to check on food, etc. Sometimes they will forget an item, so just re-order it or remind the staff.
Amazing experience as always! Food is delicious and there is a lot of variety; between fried food, sushi, wok items, soups, etc. Every time I’ve been there, the servers have always been friendly, helpful, and seem to genuinely care about the customer service experience. I highly recommend.
Love it every time I go. Portions are a bit bigger, so you have to pace yourself and not try too many things. Food for me has always been excellent quality. Staff has always been great. It's really a shame they don't stay too long...
Very generous takeout, delicious sushi and more!
It is my favorite restaurant.
Disgusted!!! Awful service . When you order scallop or expensive ingredient sashime(unagi, tako) they ignored and they do not serve food, Ieven if they checked the orders. Foods were made by unskillful people and those are GARBAGE!! Do not go there!
Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp up to main entrance. Food
Genji is my go-to for all-you-can-eat sushi. Best quality for price in HRM.
Dinner AYCE is the way to go. But this is far from my favorite place. Sometimes you dont get what you ordered, sometimes you get the same thing twice. Sometimes you get food delivered to your table long after you had dessert because you just expected it not to show up. Gengi is consistently not good. Good quality is fine, service is meh.
Love all you can eat. Lots of delicious choices. Good value.
The food was fantastic, the service astounding, and it was really fairly priced. Vegetarian options: There are a lot of vegetarian options to chose from. From salads to noodles to rolls. Plenty to choose from. Dietary restrictions: They are really great at working within dietary restrictions. Theres even a spot on the order list to write down any dietary restrictions. Kid-friendliness: The all-you-can-eat menu is divided up into different age categories for kids
Genji Sushi is a must-visit for sushi lovers. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the sushi is absolutely top-notch. The Hand Rolls is a standout, offering a selection of fresh, expertly crafted pieces that highlight the chefs skills. The Sushi is a melt-in-your-mouth experience that s packed with flavor. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, guiding you through the menu and sake options with ease. Every detail, from presentation to taste, is impeccable. Whether youre on a date or dining with friends, Genji Sushi provides a memorable experience that s worth every bite. Highly recommended!
First time here and I will definitely be back! The AYCE menu was great, with delicious food and lovely service. Not much else to be said, just an overall great meal :)
The food was delicious and fresh. Service was excellent and a group effort as easy server assisted each other. The chef was on his game today making everything beautiful and tasty. The atmosphere was warehousey impersonal and larger than expected. Definitely a place to go again.
Food is old and hard
Excellent service and food
VERY VERY GOOD SUPER EXCELLENT SERVICE AND FOOD! LOVE THIS PLACE!
The sushi was really good and the service was great, the staff was patient and kind.
Best food ever and it s always so quick. They even give us free bonus items from time to time
This place is terrible. I ordered sushi, and the crab was spoiled. I spat it out immediately.
The meal was excellent, the service quick and efficient. However, the restaurant was empty from our arrival until departure. I recommend trying the broccoli and sesame poulter dish!
Lovely place cool Selections thanks Food
They have the absolute best spicy crab roll and cheese wontons! This is my go to order. I usually place take out orders, however, the staff have always been friendly when picking up my order and the food has always been amazing!
Ordered food and didn t like it. Took it back and requested refund and wouldn t refund me back.
Me and my girlfriend went for celebration on the long weekend, food was more than we can finished, furniture looked aging, good service even though was a busy day in the restaurant. Washroom has a leak on the floor under the toilet so the floor was a little slippery and smelly. Rather than that, everything was pleased. We were arranged to be seated in a window seat facing the TV, some deep fried dishes we ordered did not come until we asked, then we have to ask again in the next order while other dishes such as sushi served fast. Ice cream was the only option for dessert but with different favor. This is a maybe come back again restaurant since the portion of food is a lot bigger than others.
Very friendly and prompt service
Went with AYCE. Tried rolls and fried/cooked items. All were good. Keep in mind to order dumplings in the beginning as yhey take 10-15 minutes. Friendly and fast service. Nice decor. Cozy. Parking at the back. You can see they try and introduce new items on the entrance door as well. Better than the AYCE places in bedford like mizu and jet
Kind people, delicious food, great place, thank you
The food was good but the service and cleanliness of the restaurant has fallen drastically. We were waiting almost 30 minutes in between a few dishes. One of the servers were just walking around ignoring everyone. We asked for a refill of water and he spilled water on a good portion of the table while filing the glasses and then just left while we had to wipe up the puddle. The walls by our table had food stuck to it. I had invited some close friends to try the place since my past experiences were good but I was very disappointed. If you want to compete with the new places coming up, you have to improve your experience.
The amazing food is one thing but the SERVICE!! I was served by Alex and he was so kind. Very attentive and helped us out ordering food which was so helpful! I ve never tipped above 18% before but Alex s customer service called for a generous tip! Will 100% be returning :)
The restaurant was well organized and clean, they had a very large selection for their AYCE option we selected and the drink add on was very reasonable. The dishes all came out hot and promptly as we ordered them with the server.
I had awesome service here, right from the time I entered. My server Andy was great. The All you can eat was also great. The food was well prepared. I will be back again. Thank You
Great choice for the all you can eat menu. So many different sushi rolls among other options for those people that dont like sushi. Staff were very nice and made sure we had what we needed and wanted. Atmosphere was fine, I think my minus 1 star is due to how large of a group I was in. Its hard to have a great atmosphere when yelling down the table. (Sorry to anyone else not with us in the restaurant!) Overall great, go enjoy some all you can eat!
I went there on Saturday and I didn t get the name of my server, but it was the worst service I ve ever received at any restaurant. She was extremely rude from the minute we entered the restaurant. She took our drink order and slammed them down on the table and walked away. We placed one order for all you can eat and it was the right amount of food. I politely asked her for tea and when she brought it to the table I said thank you and she angrily walked away. My friend and I hardly asked her for anything and couldn t believe how cold she was when she came to the table. I completely understand having a bad day, but this was ridiculous. I ve worked in the service industry for a few years and have had bad days and never had I seen or demonstrated this level of poor service. I won t be back.
Outstanding food.
Food is really good, love coming here! Great staff too
Favourite sushi place. No one beats the food here. They have so many different options and appetizers. Even if you don t like sushi, there s options for you here. I go to so many different sushi restaurants, but Genji s taste will always be my favourite Vegetarian options: Avocado rolls, asparagus rolls, sweet potato rolls, edamame, etc Dietary restrictions: They ve got something for everyone. Vegetarians, vegans, gluten free, etc. Kid-friendliness: Free for kids under 3 for AYCE.
Another good option for AYCE
The experience this time was quite bad. The waitress was an old and fat waitress. Her attitude was very unfriendly. She kept chatting with others and did not want to come to serve. There were very few customers in the restaurant. The beef pellets were much smaller than a year ago. The taste was bad. It has also changed, probably with a new owner, and the whole experience has been a disaster.
Service is good. But food portion is too big as AYCE. We were two people and felt full fast.
Very good a little expensive
Servers are super nice!
Nice place for sushi
This is the most valuable sushi restaurant in Dartmouth, with good amount of food and reasonable price within the area. We went for Victoria Day long weekend, the waitress served us with welcome and smile even it was busy that time. Food came a little slow but it worth the wait, we loved garlic broccoli, and the sushi rolls. There are some deep fried sushi rolls are special and interesting. Sushi is quite filling so we ordered a bit more of stir fried dishes, turned out fresh made and delicious. Music was loud with a lot of crowds that day so we talked loud (hope we did not scare anyone) . Overall, it s a five star!
Always good food and very friendly staff
Food was tasty and it could have been a great experience however the Chinese lady server/owner was very rude and unpleasant.
Nice sushi place in Dartmouth food is ok , hygiene should be better, service is ok .
I love their food but one time I was harassed for burping by another patron and they never made the man leave. Like he was threatening me and everything and now I m scared to go back in my own
Theres quite a few fruit flies... The food is always hot and delicious though, no complaints there. The service is just okay. Great people, but seem to stand around a lot when people need service (and Im not the type to wave someone over, I personally find it rude, lol). In saying all of this, I go at least every 2 weeks for a get together with a friend, and we will continue to go forever. Its my favorite spot in Halifax, just some things you should know.
Vegetarian options: Quite a few sushi rolls with no animals in them Parking: Never had a problem finding parking close by. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes theres a ramp off the parking lot.
I ve been here multiple times and the all you can eat sushi is in my opinion the best you can get in NS. Good size rolls, plenty of options! The service is always amazing and attentive.
Fabulous food. Not cheap but definitely quality First time there and Ill definitely be back Food
Food has all been very good and the price for AYCE is great.
Great value for AYCE dinner at 31.99 on Thursday. So many options and all seemed to be of good quality.
Its so confusing Menu and is so tricky to order
3 of us ate here last night for the first time. Excellent quality and preparation. Good selection of dishes. Will definitely return.
Love Gengi! Great atmosphere, food and service!
Amazing food, great service, good price.
Excellent food and amazing service! My favourites are the mango roll, grilled dumplings and the sesame balls. Went for AYCE lunch and great options and prices. Tons of parking and seating inside. Beautiful aquariums. 10 out of 10 will be back again!
Food was OK. 24.99 for lunch although the pay terminal was around 29.00? I think they are adding on a charge for credit cards? Didnt realize until I left
Food quality and protein/filler ratio has gone down drastically... its too bad because it used to be half decent place to go for sushi.
Its probably one of the best sushi restaurants in NS.
Nothing can go wrong here. I came from Indonesia and Jay took me here. Food are awesome, fresh sashimi and tasty beef wrapped Enoki It tasted like authentic Izakaya in an All-You-Can-Eat Version.
It was so cold! People and food was great
Food was great, hot and fresh. The server was quick and friendly. Restaurant was very cold.
Great service, extremely tasty food options for all you can eat. Definitely takes over the best for my list
All you can eat sushi...enough said.
A bit noisy due to children, but good food selections/choices for all you can eat. Servers could have been more attentive in cleaning off dishes from the table. A better experience than at Mizu. Vegetarian options: Plenty of choices for vegans. Parking: Good sized lot right next to the building. Kid-friendliness: Kids prices are based on age.
Dirty and confusing to order.
Wheelchair accessibility: I have a service dog, at first they said he wasnt allowed but after a short lesson on service dogs they happily allowed us in. Food
Great food. All you can eat. A bit pricy but the staff are fairly kind. The best all you can eat sushi in hali Parking: Lots of parking Wheelchair accessibility: It is
Have been a customer here for years and years and today has changed that. Ordered Thai chicken for my 2 year old and he bit into a completely raw piece of chicken, I ripped it out of his mouth and called a server over who didn t say anything but mutter oh sorry like it was not a big deal under her breath, they reheated the same piece of chicken and brought it back, which we obviously didn t feed him. When the bill came there was nothing else mentioned of it and we were expected to pay full price, my husband asked to talk to the floor manager who offered us 20% off for the inconvenience . I told her 20% off is what you offer someone who s food is burnt or doesn t taste right not someone who s child just consumed raw poultry, to which she called the restaurant owners who are so greedy that they refused to compensate us for anything and left their floor manager helpless to do anything else to assist us, eventually we were given half off which I feel like she s likely to get in trouble for doing based off her phone call with the higher ups. We were also offered a coupon which I declined. I understand that mistakes happen but it was the way the situation was handled that leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. Greedy owners who leave their staff with no power to assist customers, I m absolutely disgusted and will never be back.
Loved this place, amazing sushi and food!
Our recent visit to Genji Sushi was quite disappointing. The food quality was poor, with the exception of the sesame chicken, which unfortunately tasted bad the second time we ordered it in the same visit!!! Despite the restaurant advertising an all-you-can-eat option, we were disappointed to find that we could only order a maximum of three ice cream scoops. To add to our disappointment, the cheese wontons lacked any discernible cheese flavor and were mostly just bread. The Korean fried rice tasted strange and had undercooked protein, while the Thai coconut curry with shrimp was bland. The spider roll was not as good as other sushi places weve visited, and the golden and black dragon rolls were below average. The atmosphere and the decor seemed authentic. The only redeeming dishes were the mango salad and the ice cream, which were good but hardly worth the high cost of $31.99 plus tax for just three scoops of ice cream and a salad because everything else was worthless. Overall, we felt misled by the all-you-can-eat option, and our dining experience was far from enjoyable. I would recommend going to Jukai instead! What a joke all you can eat but not really all you can eat (You can only have 3 maximum!)
A very good place to go and eat all you wanto to eat under one place japan, chinese and Thai . You can choose between the cheaper and the expensive menu. Chingon lugar para comer muy recomendable.
Service was great, atmosphere is as good as youd expect in an all you can eat sushi establishment. Sushi this go around seemed sub par at best, but the deal breaker was the fried food like the coconut shrimp, batter scallops, etc....oil was old and on top of that over cooked
Great selection and diversity on the AYCE menu, service leaves much to be desired. We had to tell the waiters no less than 10 times we didnt order certain diahes or wed order 2 spring rolls and theyd mix up and bring 10 for two people and insist we did order them. Then the table beside us with like 6 people was always asking for their missing spring rolls and dishes and still... it didnt add up to the waiters lol. Its AYCE so whatever just reorder but we filled up on appetizer dishes as we didnt want to waste food we didnt orded, then didnt have room for the rolls which were above standard for an AYCE sushi experience.
Very good spot! Personal are nice. Food tasty. Feel like back in Japan. AYCE has huge menu. Interior could be better!
Our favourite sushi place in Dartmouth
Why bother
A great place to have a nice sushi meal quality is really good and the service is courteous professional friendly atmosphere decent value for the money
I told them if Im paying $100 for a meal I want to feel full. And I didnt and I guarantee you I will not be going back there and I will be telling my friends on the internet not to go there. I could have took everything that they had and paid 40 bucks for it if I made it myself. They wont be getting my customers going in there. I will be on Tik Tok I will be on Instagram and any other site I will make sure that they dont ever get any more business
Servers are very attentive. I would like to highlight that they actively offered ice cream after the meal. We came early for lunch on a Saturday and it got busier than expected pretty soon. Maybe that s way some dishes took like 30 mins to get to the table. Mind that their wraps are filled with rice and rice is rather abundant with them. This could be my personal preference speaking from my past experience overseas. All in all, quite a nice place to grab some sushi.
A bit lacking in food quality and atmosphere. The restaurant is massive but only had two groups in there for lunch. The food was ok, nothing blew me away, but nothing turned me off either (other than the Korean soup which tasted like it was flavoured with cool-aid). Also skip the fried banana with cheap chocolate sauce, gross. The menu had a mix of fairly basic rolls, fried food, dim sum, and standard Chinese dishes. I liked the eggplant dish and golden yolk buns. I was surprised to see that they use fake crab when they are situated minutes from the ocean. The food came out pretty quickly.
I usually have a great experience here however tonight was not good. We waited 30 minutes to start getting our food. At one point we where waiting on 2 rolls for 40 minutes and then where told there was a mixup and they wanted us to reorder. Food is fantastic as always but Over all experience was poor this time. I hope my next experience is better.
I was asked to attend a party at this restaurant and after sitting down I waited an hour and a half still couldnt get a servers attention so I walked up to the bar and asked for a menu from them. I refuse to eat there anymore.
The food was high quality, delicious and came out in a timely manner. The service was excellent as well. Best all-you-can-eat Ive had in the city so far!
Food was ok. Some dishes were good (I particularly liked the tornado potato), others left a lot to be desired. Service was poor, and multiple dishes that we ordered never showed up. Waiters did not come by to check how food was or to top up drinks. Dishes came out at staggered times and with often long periods between them, as if they were hoping that wed leave before ordering more food. Eventually did just that after waiting for over 45 minutes for some of our missing dishes and receiving no indication of if or when the remaining food would show up. All this could perhaps be forgiven if it wasnt so expensive.
One of my favourite sushi buffets in town! Fresh food, friendly staff, and a big space which is nice since it is really busy sometimes. Will be back for sure!
My food was great but I ordered my food off the takeout menu. Unfortunately the service was slow. We had a birthday party there and I wouldnt recommend.
Good variety on all-you-can-eat menu.
IThe food and services is better than Zumi in my own opinion. Maybe a little brighter light inside would be a good improvement.
Good food, not great. But for an all you can eat, pretty good overall.
Always great take-out. Decor can be retouched but great all around
Nice
I love Genji Sushi for its simple and pure atmosphere. The food here is phenomenal. I cant really say to try this or try that because Ive tried almost every item on their menu, and I have never ever been disappointed. I do love their seaweed salad and every single hand roll Ive ever tasted. The service is great and all the staff are so friendly and so informative. They have all you can eat sushi, and its worth the prices listed on their menu. If you like sushi, space and its kid friendly too. I have older children and they have always been super satisfied with the food and awrvuce and Ive never heard one complaint. The food is presented with beautiful garnish, and they are meticulous about how everything is served. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to try Japenese cuisine as they do it so well. There is a ton of parking, its central Dartmiuth and easily accessible. There is wheelchair access and lots of room in the restaurant for strollers and wheelchairs alike. I will definitely be back. Vegetarian options: So options that you would never go hungry. Dietary restrictions: They have a load of options from gluten friendly, to vegan and vegetarian options. Parking: Tons of spaces and a few Handicap right spaces as well. They are located right off the ramp gor wheel chair access. Kid-friendliness: Super kid friendly..its open space and large seating areas are great for taking dmall children, babies, and kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Its definitely wheelchair accessible.
Sushi top! You wont find better in the Halifax area. Verified) This is a purely Japanese restaurant, where Japanese people who know how to work work
Have been sick for days since eating here. Horrible service underwhelming food. Crazy expensive prices. Wont be back.
We ordered teriyaki beef and chewed two pieces of stone while eating meat. The employees admitted that the stone was not from the kitchen, but from the meat product itself, and called their boss. We had to wait a long time and ended up with a 20% discount. It was a bad response compared to what could have led to a big accident, and I want to say never to go to this restaurant if you think about your health.
Great food. Affordable prices and fast service
The best sushi restaurant in town! Cheap and affordable with great quality. California spicy sushi roll was my personal best among the sushis.Beef chops were of good quality too.
The food was absolutly delicieus
Fantastic food, fast and friendly service. I love their garlic butter mushrooms and broccoli. Definitely my favourite sushi spot in town. Best salmon sushi rolls Ive had.
Great place
This all-you-can-eat sushi establishment offered a satisfying experience with an extensive selection of fresh options. While most of the wait staff provided excellent service, one particular server consistently gave us a disapproving glare whenever we requested additional ginger or wasabi, which led to a two-star rating for service. If you have a hearty appetite for sushi rolls, this remains a commendable choice. Additionally, the steak bites were exceptional.
Always a great experience and great food!
Staff was amazing to talk to and the sushi is beyond good! Sushi is fresh and the rolls are full of the right flavors!
We love the AYCE. Excellent food and friendly service. Good atmosphere however it can feel a little crowded if its really busy due to the layout.
Simple, yet exquisite! We are on the hunt for a place for our daughters birthday. Our family loves sushi, thats why a sushi place is a great place to celebrate a special day. We have been to other sushi restaurants, which are also great but heres how I think Genji is different. The food menu is not too overwhelming and just enough choices. The staffs are great on making sure that we are comfortable and enjoying our meal. Not too asian approach. Well, if youre Asian you get what I am saying. I am Asian, sometimes we look strict and forget to smile. Price for lunch is way cheaper that dinner. Yet, dinner has more food options. Dont forget to order seaweed and mango salad. Its a great start before having your sushi! We enjoyed our food so much, we will be celebrating our daughters birthday here!
for a staff member whos worked there for a year + they should know whats in their menu items. huge lack of knowledge on thier own menu. lack of ingredient info both in menu snd in restaurant...
Very high quality
False advertising. 16.99 AYCE on website, go to sit down and the menu has 24.99 AYCE. Claimed it was 5yrs ago so update your site?
Was a former runner. They steal tips, so none of your tip will end up getting to the staff. Food is tasty but kitchen is dirty. The kitchen floor is gross, slippery and sticky. Raw cutting board and serving plates are stacked together and dripping on eachother. Hard to believe people actually went through safety training.
I am very surprised this place is rated as high as it is. We tried all you can eat and it was not good.
Absolutely wonderful, the taste was spot on for the food that I ate, took me back to when I visited Japan, will be going back again very soon.
Nice and freshly served food as a buffet set up of menu..and very accomodating staff
Genji Sushi was a good dining experience. 1990s Korean music in the background and tasty sush. The sashimi was fresh and flavorful. The hand rolls were good. Brown rice tea wa refilled promptly. I will return in the future.
Been here a whole bunch, sooo damn good. Wish I had more friends that like sushi! All you can eat .
Best asian food I have had in a while. Everything was great and cooked to perfection.
Great service, but worst wonton soup have had in my life; could be wonton leather soup. Everything else was good, though.
Good service. Good food.
i cannot speak highly enough about genji sushi!! their staff is incredible, super kind and friendly! the service is fast, and the food is INCREDIBLE!! Best sushi in Dartmouth!! Vegetarian options: amazing vegetarian options for sushi!!
Lovely place liked by our family. Number 1 sushi restaurant for our son.
Excellent food for a reasonable price and very well prepared food. Special dishes. The appearance of the restaurant is not that nice, but it does not detract from the quality of what is offered.
This was the best place i have ever eaten :D would recommend to everybody
The friendliest staff who are always ready to please. Always a most enjoyable experience!!
100/10. Best sushi place in Nova scotia. Get the brown rice tea, fried coconut milk with the fried banana, and my favorite roll is the BBQ unagi roll (eel) I also love their sashimi, but thats just me.
Good quality and portion size. Service was great as well. Very accommodating for gluten free options on the AYCE menu
Great selection, and it was good food & service. Ill be back
All the plates were so delicious, good attention, clean.Just one thing, they must update their photos in Google maps, cause we see the menu and this show a different price than the menu in the restaurant.
Genji is pretty middle of the road sushi when compared to some of the other options in the HRM. When compared to other all you can eat places it far outshines the other options. Service is typically fine, items are often forgotten but if you mention it to a server you will typically get it quickly. The atmosphere consists of older J-pop songs at a low rumble in the background, prints of famous Japanese paintings on the walls, and some Japanese TV shows playing without sound. Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options, though as is the case in most Asian style kitchens, cross contamination is likely Parking: Parking is on the rear side of the building, typically there are more than enough spots available. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramped path going to the entrance, you may have to climb over a curb, or start from slightly further away though.
Really bad service. Food was not great.
I highly recommend that place!
Great food, great service. Decor needs a bit of a change or update. But overall great place for sushi
One of our favorite restaurants to come to! Been coming here over 3yrs now. Food is always great, lots of variety. Staff are wonderful!
Great place for sushi I got the AYCE option. Food is insane good the crispy mango was my favorite . Definitely will go again.
This is the best sushi place ever!!! If youre in the area, try it out. Order the golden lava balls for dessert, I love them so much.
Used to be a good AYCE, we came here at least once a month. but today the hand roll is getting worse, too many rice ,so we give up 1 hand roll, and half plate fried rice...and a male waiter asked me to pay for them as I waste their food, a penalty fee, I knew this guy is a little bit low EQ side from start, very easy to read. So I hold 5 dollars cash tips , and pay 3 dollars penalty fee instead. Just be advised : this ayce restaurant do charge you penalty fees if you give up any dish not TASTY We might not be back again and Id try MIZU next time
The service was wonderful and the food delicious
Best sushi Ive had in years. Not since Toronto have I had sushi of this quality!
With the caveat that Im not a local to Halifax, so for all I know this might be the best sushi the city has on offer. That said, coming to the city, I decided to really give local seafood based restaurants a try, I figured with the proximity to the ocean, even if the fish were not local caught that there would be a supply of fresh options. This was not what I expected. Im not a huge foodie, but even I could tell that this was not fresh at all. It was also illogical how the food came out - we got the grilled items, as well as sushi and rolls before the sashimi, which from a preparation perspective seems odd - I heard this was just the way this restaurant did things. It also felt odd that I was paying Toronto suburb prices for a far inferior product. Please keep in mind though, this is the only Halifax sushi Ive tried. - it could be the best in the city.
Great sushi with a superb atmosphere
First and last time I will try Genji Sushi. Hate to say it but I may as well have went to Bento Sushi at Superstore. Did not taste fresh or authentic and main listed ingredients in the rolls were skimmed down to tiny amounts unrecognizable to the palate. Dont waste your money.
