Cozy & quaint. Locally owned & operated. Local favorites made with the freshest ingredients . Fantastic service in a relaxed atmosphere.. you’ll love us !
I'm surprised that I haven't left a review for this wonderful place. Seamus is made for everyone. The atmosphere, the guests and the servers are the best ever. It has a wonderful attitude and my server Miranda is the best server I've had in years. Seamus is worth every single penny.
Enjoyed dinner here. Was recommended the Shepard's pie and it was delicious. Service was magnificent, never had to ask for a refill, went above and beyond. Thank you, Angela!
This was a really wonderful experience on a Friday night after a bowling night. Great service , great food
We were there two nights in a row. Two different servers. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share amongst us. The 1st pm the food seemed better. The 2nd pm the server didn't ask if we would like meat or chicken to our nachos. But we all agreed that they were the best nachos (both pm) even the ones without chicken that any of us have had in HRM.
Had to ask the waitress twice for a glass of water with my meal. Food was decent, but couldn’t finish all of my meal, asked waitress for a takeout container. She made a comment about how it’s only for 6 year olds that can’t finish their food and laughed. I didn’t appreciate it. First and last time I dine there.
Very nice pub with good food. We watched the European football final and really enjoyed ourselves.
We decided to go to Seamus Irish pub to celebrate my moms birthday. I had heard from a few people that they had enjoyed it here but my experience wasn't as great. I started with a warm artichoke dip that was cold in the middle... but still tasted good none the less. We were a table of 6 and two of us ordered the exact same thing, steak sandwich, medium rare. Mine came charred and flavourless, resembling a piece of leather. I attempted to eat it as I was hungry, but I just couldn't. It was awful. The other steak sandwich at the table wasn't as bad as mine, having a touch of flavour and not so over cooked. I asked to return my sandwich as it just wasn't eatable. Kitchen was now closed so I ended up keeping my side potato as I would have nothing to eat for dinner without it but should have just let it go as well, as it tasted like it was sitting out for hours. Dry and crumbly. The sandwich was removed from my bill and I was only charged for my potato. My moms food was served cold. Our Service wasn't the greatest as multiple times we had to seek out water and drink refills by leaving the table to find someone. Only 3 out of 6 of us liked the food during this visit. The experience here was so disappointing that we made new plans to celebrate my moms birthday days later at another restaurant.
It was very busy around 1pm. The staff was friendly but we constantly waited. We waited 5min to be seated, waited 5-10 min for menus, waited 5-10 min for our drinks, then food came fairly quick. The food was good. Better than average and would recommend stopping in What blew our minds was that before we got our food, 3 couples were told it would be an hour and fifty min wait. However, there was an empty table in the corner for 4 and by the time we got our food tables were clearing out. Within 20 min of the first couple turned away (when there was an empty table) half the place was empty. Even with an open table, the bar was wide open and not given as an option to use it even wait for a table at. Prices are on par with being in the city.
Have been going here since they opened and not for the service. It s a great location and food was always good. Love the patio in the summer. The service wasn t ever their strong point until now. Liam was our server and he was awesome. Friendly, happy, smiling and very helpful. The new added area was really nice as well.
Always an enjoyable meal with friends. Little bit of a wait for food last visit, but they were jammed on a saturday evening Food
Very nice place with delicious food and kind staff.
Parking: Public parking across the street from the location. Food
Its out office go-to lunch place. The potato skins are the best in HRM.
Really enjoyed the food. I had the wings and fish and chips. Staff are super friendly And I absolutely love the atmosphere
Great place with really friendly staff
Waited 10 mins for a server to appear, it seemed like there was nobody working, was about to either pour my own drink or walk out when someone appeared. They disappeared again after serving me and a few others that had been waiting. Stood with my coat on beside my table for 10 mins after waiting for a server to appear once my meal and drink had been finished for awhile. I was seriously debating whether I should just walk out since nobody seemed interested in taking my money. Atmosphere is good, typical Irish pub. Only ordered an appetizer, afraid I d be there all night if I ordered an app and a meal. Bruschetta was very heavy on the onion. We ve been here too many times to count but this is the first time we had such poor service and such mediocre food. May be awhile before we waste our time going back. Didn t seem like there was any urgency for our business or anyone else s anyway.
Food was good but no coleslaw in the fish tacos could spice it up. Guinness was spot on
This is a great dining experience. Great food, great service, and outstanding atmosphere with live music. Highly recommend
The food was top notch and our server Angela was attentive and sweet! I would highly recommend dining here
Had a lovely server with great recommendations.
Friendly waitress, fast service and a lovely patio area
Bella is the best waitress we have ever encountered out of all the bars we have been in. Keep this young lady.. omg we love her
Always good food and good service!
An incredible atmosphere, deliciously cold drink.
Well be back
Fun pub lication
Nice pub. Lots of beers on tap. Potatoes skins were very good
The food has really gone down hill. The spicy haddock wrap was not spicy and the haddock was as dry as the desert. Service was abrupt and misleading on items to order. Only good thing was the company and beer. What a shame we really enjoyed this spot in the past.
Friendly staff and amazing food. We spend at least a few meals here whenever we visit Dartmouth/Halifax.
It is a bit pricey but excellent service, menu selections, and atmosphere.
Nachos were delicious
Great food! Great prices! Very clean. Very quick Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options Food : 5/5 |
I ordered nachos, I asked for no onions. It had onions which I dealt with. I ate maybe 5 bites of my nachos and asked for a box to pack them up. When packing I accidently dropped the entirety of my nachos on the floor. The waitress said that sucks, I paid for them and was never offered a replacement. Sad really. The nice thing to do would have been to offer to replace them and not watch someone pay $20 for something they didnt even get to eat.
i had an amazing experience at seamus david s today. Miranda was great, very attentive and patient the entire time. I ordered the fish&chips which were incredible, the fish was cooked perfect. no complaints.
Miranda was our sever. She was attentive and very pleasant! The food was awesome (nachos) and we didn t wait long for anything. Nice patio!
Went there and found the atmosphere to be fantastic and very friendly and informative staff and great food and drink. If you have not tried it there then you are in for a treat. Was there again today June 25/24, Elsa was our server and she was fantastic and the food was fantastic. Would high recommend. Thank you Elsa you were great.
Great place for a lunch and drink staff is very friendly and helpful
Amazing food only slightly outdone by the amazing service!! I wish I could remember her name because she deserves high praise - but she was pleasant, efficient, knowledgeable and not in the slightest pushy. We are from Ontario visiting friends otherwise this place would become our regular haunt!! But next time we are back this way, we WILL return! Kid-friendliness: Had lots of kid friendly options and ice cream sandwiches for a dessert option!
When Seamus Davids irish pub first opened it was always our go to! But then after a few years the food quality has not been the same. However the service and atmosphere has never changed. The staff have always been nice and quick. Plenty of parking and can be a good family spot.
What a beautiful place! The food was amazing, and the staff were welcoming. This is my second time there. Both times were great!
Pleasant meal and good service
It is our go to pub. Food and service are great and like the Irish vibe!
Great place, good was tasty. Staff was very friendly and attentive
Our company waitress was the best ive ever seen
Service and food always great.
Lovely spot in Dartmouth crossing. Great food, a favourite is the lamb burger.
Seamus David s is my families go to restaurant. We do family birthday s there as well as any time we re in the Crossing. My all time favourite meal there is the pan fried haddock! Definitely recommend visiting the team there if you re in the area during any season.
Was here for a half and did not get drinks . Then never got our appetizers for 2 hours. People came in after us and received there appetizers and meal before we even received our appetizers.
We sat down at an empty table that hadnt been cleaned yet. No big deal, but it took 5-10 minutes to even be acknowledged by a sever. We waited over 45 minutes for our food with only one very brief update from the server. Our waters werent refilled and we werent provided with cutlery until after our food arrived. The food was ok... Definitely not worth the wait. The sever never came to check up on us and vanished when we wanted to pay our bill. We went up to the bar to pay and had to wait another 5-10 minutes for the other staff to find our server.
Excellent food and service
Always enjoyable!
Food was fantastic, service was on the slower side.
Mashed potatoes were cold and hard, obviously not newly cooked. The haddock was thin and overcooked.
Food was great but service was lacking.
Menu has a good selection of pub food. Service was very good. Nice clean fresh dining area. Seating for larger groups and a few cozy booths. Also a nice patio with umbrellas. Plenty of parking just across the quiet street.
Fantastic staff, fast service and delicious food.
Fish and Chips were top notch.
Very good Guiness on tap, enjoyed with tasty fish and chips. Atmosphere is quite nice considering it is relatively new construction. Well done.
Waited 45 min for sweet potato fries and fish and chips and the pub was almost empty (Tuesday night). When the food finally came out my sweet potato fries were over done and I didnt want to eat them. The piece of fish on the fish n chips was tiny! Good pint of guinness though and the waitress was nice
I waited for almost 20 mins to get my order taken, the place wasnt that busy, the server... I dont want know what he had going on but I certainly didnt seem to be taking care of customers, I left instead of ordering food, which did look quite nice,
Miranda was amazing. Her service was on point. We laughed and will come back again. Thank you Miranda. We need more of you in service.
Excellent Irish Pub in Dartmouth Crossing. Food excellent good quality. Luch was pricey but was of excellent quality.
Second time going Will definitely go again Highly recommend, perfect service Food : 5/5
Was a nice discovery on a Sunday afternoon!
Food was okay. I wouldnt say exceptional and I found it to be over priced for what I bought. The beer was expensive too. At $11.00 dollars for a draft beer. Is this the norm now?
Great service by the staff, especially Connor! We went with a large group and they were very friendly and accommodating. Food and beverages were good too!
This is the best Pub east of Nanimo BC . Staff number one and a great environment . Keep up the great work!!!
Nice Irish pub with good drinks and food
We go here for Nachos at least every 2 weeks! Never disappointed. Also, A huge shout out to Connor for his great service!! French fries are the best in the city! Food
We joined a couple friends for dinner and drinks. Two of us ordered the bacon wrapped steak. It was tough, poorly cooked and one of us had to return it. To the credit of the restaurant, a burger was substituted. The Irish pub ran out of... Wait for it... Potatos. No baked, no mashed... No potatoes! The sever was accomdating and sympathetic but for over $100 per couple, the food was terrible.
The pub fare is great quality and value.
All great. Sadly some people who stank of cannabis came in and ruined the experience. Not the bars fault. Its the governments fault for allowing that poison to be legal.
Service was a little slow. Drinks were good. Food was underwhelming.
We visited at a fairly slow time. We were greeted quickly and brought to a table. We did have to wait a bit for our server to come over and introduce herself and take our food orders (another person took out drink orders before the server came over) they may have been in the middle of a shift switch.food was ok but service was a little slow
Great realxing atmosphere
Didnt get to eat here yet but briefly met the owners while working here. Super friendly, down to earth people. Definitely will be returning based on that alone.
Lots of beers and choices to eat
Always great service and great food for the most part. Their only issue I find is really dry plain fries. Everything else is top notch.
Great little pub. Soon to be a huge pub (they bought next door and are in full Reno mode) We had a well tanned, English (from England) waitress and the food and Guinness were delicious. When youre tired of shopping this is a good stop.
Nice quiet place for lunch
Smoked meat sandwich tasted like chemicals and wasn t edible. Tasted like it was sprayed with an aerosol can. Disgusting
Home made french onion soup! Yummy! Service fast and friendly. Great pub style fare
First in the door at lunchtime, staff couldnt have been more helpful.
Great food and great service
Ordered soup & sandwich. When asked I told the wait staff the grilled cheese sandwich had a funny taste. They offered to make another but I declined & ate the soup. I was surprised that I was charged the full price for the meal. Soup, split pea & ham, was good but pricey at $17 for 3/4 of a bowl.
Great staff. Clean and good food I miss Becky Food
Nice ambience quality food parking available on a walkable distance very close to Cosco / hotel Hampton Inn and many more
The sides were very good... club house was very good ... salad very fresh But the smoked meat sandwich totally missed the mark... the dejon mustard was not tasty and the meat was not smoked right . The price was fair but our server was new and inexperienced.
Have been to Seamus Davids a few times in the past and found it had good service, the food was always good. But unfortunately, we had 11 of the family there the evening of Feb 25th, we had called ahead for a reservation for 12, we ended up with 11. They asked me to call 5 minutes before we arrived which I found very odd, have never been asked to do that before. We were there to have a final supper together before some flew home to various places in the USA. They had come for my mothers funeral, these were some of my other siblings and some of her beloved grandchildren. I forgot to call 5 minutes prior to arrival, have had a lot on my mind and I dont know what difference that would make anyway. When we walked in, we were rudely greeted and chastised for not calling before arriving. Our group ended up at 3 separate tables, we could deal with that even though it was not ideal. We ordered drinks and our food shortly after getting there and then were largely ignored. We saw people come in after we ordered, they received their drinks and food before us, paid their bills and left before we received our orders. So we were not impressed to say the least at how we were treated. Therefore we did not tip due to the poor service we felt we received. To top it off, a woman I think was the manager, came to one of our tables and rudely asked why we didnt tip, that the staff worked hard and she was told why we didnt tip. She was very rude and what she should have done was ask if there had been an issue and tried to make things right. But she basically came over and was very offensive to us. I know she didnt know our situation of being together because of losing our beloved wife, mom, grandma, but that shouldnt matter, you dont treat anyone that way. So I will never darken Seamus Davids doors again and would never recommend it to anyone. I dont usually say too much but I was very disappointed with this establishment.
Took us over a half-hour to receive our order. The food was okay, but IDK if it was worth the wait, cost, or having to go to Dartmouth Crossing. At least the waitress was friendly.
We typically enjoy this restaurant. The last few times haven t been great. The service is fine nothing exceptional, however the food we ve noticed is more expensive (much anticipated), but the portions are small. Very small. The description in the menu does not match what you receive. Hot sandwich of the day served with potato and a vegetable. There were 19 small peas on the gravy and our bread was missing the crust ? Overall a disappointing experience
Great service
Always a favorite. Great food, Great pricing.
Always a favorite of mine. Good food, friendly staff, reasonable pricing and an unpretentious atmosphere.
Weve been here about 6 times now. We both love the food and the staff. It has become a must stop when we are in the area. Thanks for a great place to stop and relax.
Had fish and chips. they were ok but, people like condiments with there meal. Some would like tarter sauce and some ketchup. instead of being cheap and give a table spoon in a cup, why can they put a bottle on the table?
Waited and hour for our food to get cold mashed potatoes. Server was nice, better food to be had elsewhere.
Really awful burger. I was shocked that they would serve that to a customer. The meat was super dry, hard to chew, and yet had an odd waxy texture. Very disappointed.
Food and service were very good. Haddock burger was excellent.
It was a little busy last time we went and had to wait an hour for our mains. Usually its pretty good for a Harp on tap and some onion rings.
Had the bacon wrapped steak , tasted burnt but was cooked ok,baked potato was way over cooked should have never made it to my table, young wator was polite
My wife wanted to go here for lunch roughly three months ago as she used tk work in the crossing and enjoyed it, Our first waitress wasnt really nice, and I feel like we had every server stop at our table which was odd. The food wasnt good, my beer was flat. My wife didnt like hers either she told me that she was shocked the food had gone downhill. I was bummed. I spent 88$ on lunch.
Solid average pub food with decent service! Nothing amazing but better than most options in the Crossing.
friendly people
Good place. Very busy
Always a go to Irish pub in Dartmouth. Great atmosphere
Service was great but it smells like mop water
Service was okay but the food was delicious.
Fun time and great service. Would recommend.
Eat here for first time with my wife, I had Shepard pie, wife had fried fish with scallops and salad. Food was great, waiter was great, good selection of beers, great pub atmosphere. Will be coming bacl
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Well kept and theres plenty of seating. The food was incredible and the beer went down like water!
Great atmosphere, was there for an afternooner while on vacation
Steak always cooked to perfection
Food was delicious and fair priced, staff friendly
Great atmosphere , great wait staff . Food delicous
Food was pretty good, service was okay until I saw what looked like someone from management yelling at her employee. Very disheartening to see that s how employees are treated here.
We stopped in for lunch and a pint. My wife and I each had the soup and sandwich, and the price was right, and the food was exactly what we were looking for. The service was phenomenal even though the place was hopping. Our meal was simple and came out quick. We will be back.
Food was great but portions were small
Good food, nice portions, friendly staff.
This evening 31May2023 four of us attended the restaurant following our evacuation due to the wildfire and sat on the patio as we had a pet. Our waitress was superb and did her level best to serve the entire patio. Unfortunately I didnt get her name however she is young and very effective. We had a drink and ordered our meals, which were superb with the exception of one. Her wrap was ordered without red onion however when it came...there was the red onions. It looked good however hard to pick it apart to remove the onions. The plate was sent back and a second order - minus the red onions was again placed. Several minutes later, when the rest of us had all but consumed our meal her order arrived. Again, there was red onions in the wrap. The waitress was mortified, apologizing all over herself however my sense was that she placed the order correctly, both times. Rather than a third try she simply placed an order of fries and let it go. When it came time for billing instructions our friend mentioned to the waitress that her glass of wine should be comped, given the fact that she missed her meal and decided to settle on a plate of fries. Our waitress advised that she would have to check with her manager. She returned advising that manager directed that there be no charge for the fries however the glass of wine be invoiced. I believe the managers name is Kara. I find it very unfortunate that a decision which could have bolstered this pubs reputation took a left turn which ended up simply nullifying all the good that we have previously experienced here. I dont believe that after two failed attempts to get a meal right the correct decision was to come again and take your chances. Not a comment on the meal but on the managerial service to install repeat business. So, perhaps when we are looking for a pet friendly outing, I might not be the one to suggest Seamus Davids Pub, and to me...thats a shame!!!
Absolutely love the atmosphere here. We come here often and the potato skins are a must try!!
Great food, great staff and great wing night!
I was out on the patio, eating on my work break. The food was delicious, service was excellent. The smokers at the table next to me went outside the fence to have a cigarette but it still blew back into the eating area so that was the only issue I had.
We had dinner there tonight, good food, nice atmosphere. We ate.on the patio and a young man waited on us he was very friendly and exceptional service from him... Dietary restrictions: Gluten free sure would be nice option to have here.
A nice variety on the menu. Food is tasty. I recommend the shepherds pie and the fish. Lots of good seating options. Very friendly and personable staff. Great neighborhood haunt or somewhere to go after work. Looking forward to my next visit.
Excellent Service Awesome Food Great Prices...
Went for supper to celebrate a birthday. Our server was prompt, explained the menu and specials for that evening. We got our drinks quickly and refilled in the same short time. The issue we had was with the food. It is average at best, my fish taco wrap had fish very overdone, and my fries were cold. My wife had the same issues, with our appetizer being onion rings being cooked in old oil. There was no live music at the time so I cannot rate it, but overall the pub is clean and welcoming.
I moved home last fall and went for lunch with my mom while we were shopping and really enjoyed our food. Since then, I have brought my husband along with my mother and father in law and they are all huge fans as well!! Great food, wonderful service!!
Only one vegetarian option available (a vegetarian burger). It was so hot that day that I didnt feel like eating a burger it just sounded too heavy. What other options do I have here? I thought it would be a good idea instead to try something lighter so I decided to get a ceasar salad without bacon. It was a terrible ceasar salad, bland croutons and the dressing was sour. I would not go again, I would not recommend. Vegetarian options: One option (veg burger) or a terrible salad isnt a great option...
Terrible, ordered chicken rice teriyaki, came with no chicken, taken back so soggy ,, awful,, wait time ling
Delicious beet salad! Great service, good times.
We sat in a booth, the seats were on the high side, and my toes only touched the floor. I had the fish and chips the fish was good, and the fries were overdone. The place was packed so it was difficult sometimes to speak to my friend. I did like the place itself.
Had the fish and chips. Delicious. We ate outside, a beautiful day. Service was excellent. Our waiter was Seamus!!
Dinner was acceptable. Portion sizes could be bigger. Service was good and on time.
Great little pub, service was friendly and beer and food was fast and good priced!
Air conditioning not working on a 30+ degree day...SERIOUSLY???
Great Irish pub! Food was good and the staff was great.
OMG would you please change your menu.. It has been the same for the last 7-8 years.. Maybe that is why business is so slow. We were there yesterday for an early dinner. holly was our server and she is fantastic. The special was a chicken crunch sandwich which was the same in June and I bet has not changed. Last Summer you had a big sign saying watch for drink and food menu changes but it never happened. so sad that such a nice Pub is not run right.
My first stop when I get off the boat after a 28 day hitch. Best wings in the city. We live in Lunenburg (1 hour drive), and we stop whenever were in the area. Great service, friendly staff, the manager Becky is a gem, and the wings are the bomb dot com. Highly recommend
A great place to meet up and hang out with friends
Seamus Burger was a brick. And why charge me an extra $2 for coleslaw that was clearly included on the menu?
Good time with good friends all while made to feel comfortable by our awesome server!
Nice Irish pub in the heart of Dartmouth Crossing shopping district.
Absolutely terrible quality food Ordered the lamb burger, pretty sure it was beef. Whatever it was they fed me it was obviously frozen and you get better quality at A&W, outrageous they re charging $20+ My girlfriend ordered the fish taco/wrap it smelled and tasted off, was just as miserable as my mystery meat burger The only part of our meal we enjoyed was the side salads The server was really nice and friendly. We complained about our meals and only got $7 taken off a $70 - $80 meal. I d like to give the service a better rating not the waitresses fault but we were extremely unsatisfied with our meal and feel the establishment should have done more than a $7 discount considering how poor the meal quality was Atmosphere is nice and the drinks were good, I d go back for drinks but will never eat here again
Here for the first time..such an amazing experience food, atmosphere, super clean bathrooms etc that it may just be one of my favorite places now..will be back and definitely will suggest this place to others. Thank you for the experience.
Went here to have a snack and visit an old friend. We had nachos, and they were just ok. Not much taste. Hubby had a smoked meat sandwich, and he said it was good. Of course, the beer was good! Nice atmosphere, good parking, great waitress.
Food and service was great.
Wings were good. Steak sandwich was overdone, burnt, medium rare ordered, fish was dry, overcooked, tasted fishy, baked potato tasted like it had been cooked during the day. Fries were cold and limp. Beer was nice and cold. My daughters steak was sent back due to its toughness and overcooked so all she had was her shriveled up 3.50 baked potato that he charged her for. I dont mind paying for food when its fresh and good but last night only 3 people out of six were satisfied.
7 Oz steak asked for medium but was clearly overcooked. It was around 5 PM on the 16th with the supper crowd starting. It was our 2nd time at Seamus and the servers were very good. Portions were a good size but wish they had a larger steak option. The server checked for something bigger - maybe in the 10-12 Oz size, but nothing was available. Maybe mgt / owners could add a larger steak as a special?
Super happy with our experience today! First time coming in and wont be our last. The burchetta was delicious and the onion rings too. Excellent service too. Holly was lovely, attentive, and nice to small chat with.
This used to be one of the best. Quality homemade dishes, fun service. The last two visits were disappointing. Tired service, gravy from a chemical kit, powdered mashed potatoes, grisly liver. Although I understand the cost/labour issues, for the $ there are better options. Hopefully, they can return to their previous level.
Great service including the food being ready extremely fast and hot. We sat by the door which I do not recommend as it was cold LOL
Excellent servers and food. Eat here
Once was excellent but is now more like a roadhouse tavern with plastic shooter glasses. Dont expect the staff to have any intelligence, they are definitely hired for their appearance. And the bartender wouldnt know how to serve a drink properly. Ask them if the know what a snifter is
Loved the lamb burger. Wide selection of good beers
