Could not eat there do to food allergies and we asked to take out the item and were told they could not.

Good food for a good price. Got the chicken Alfredo which was a bit watery. Also got the spicy maple shrimp which had a number of large shrimps in it. Free garlic bread was a nice touch!

$20 for 5 ravioli! The most overpriced pasta I ve simply ever had period. Picked up mushroom ravioli TO GO and there was 5 individual raviolis in the small box. Five! I mentioned this to the employee who disagreed with me and didn t care. 5 individual mushroom ravioli s COST $20 cash. Doing the math, each mushroom ravioli cost $4 in a take out box. The taste was okay, certainly not spectacular. I have never written a restaurant review before but this was unreal. I could go to Bicycle thief and get much much better pasta and leave FULL for about 6$ more. The take away is , there is NO value here. Order food and you will still be hungry when you eat your five pieces. Never going back. Sorry not sorry.

The food was great. The service was fantastic. I called to ask a question and the friendliest guy answered the phone and then greeted me with the biggest smile when I walked in to pick up my order. Always appreciate being able to order online and pay online. Only complaint was the first email said youll get an email when its ready but I didnt. Thats why I had to call. NO BIG DEAL, you just made me use my phone for phone calls.. ew. Phone calls. Its 2024. We dont use phones for that thankfully friendly guy made up for it. Ordered the chicken Alfredo for four. Came with 4 cookies 4 Pepsi and 4 garlic bread. The amount of pasta was fantastic with tax and 20% tip thats $19 bucks per meal. CANT BEAT THAT. Will definitely eat here again. There are many items I want to try

The staff are friendly, the place is clean, the meal was very filling, but I wasnt impressed by the food. Sort of an overpriced Michelinas for the Dartmouth condo crowd. I had double beef stroganof gluten-free. Its mostly penne noodles, with very little beef, and the braise on the round roast slices wasnt very tender probably added to the sauce to be warmed last minute, then lost in the dish, making you wonder what you just ordered. The sauce is too much cream, with no beef base, just grainy mustard and sour cream, a pinch of red pepper flake, which reminds me more of a corned beef and cabbage mustard sauce, not really the stroganoff Ive had elsewhere. I think of beef stroganoff as just meat and rich veal stock or demiglaze and fancy mustard with a bit of sour cream. Its the dish on the noodles; the noodles arent the dish. Anyhow, it was filling. But for a price point of $32 you could pay for an all-you-eat Sushi or Chinese food spot, or get a rice noodle dishes at a Thai food restaurant, huge Sharma plates with extras at a Lebanese place, a giant bowl of pho at a Vietnamese place, a gluten free Haddock and salad almost everywhere, BBQ, etc. I wanted to try the spot because I had heard good things a few times from other people, but I dont think Id go back. Most of the restaurants in Dartmouth are pretty lousy at offering quality food, with large portions at a cheap price, gluten-free or not. It is what it is. The people here seem to like it. The staff were very nice, the service was prompt. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free

On our last day in Nova Scotia, we decided to head to Dartmouth and spend the last few hours touring the town before our flight to Toronto. We happened to pass by Chanoeys Pasta and decided to stop for dinner. I was thrilled with our experience and extremely proud of the owner (a Filipino). I chose pork Adobo Pasta, a Filipino dish with a twist, while my boyfriend got Mushroom Ravioli, a vegetarian option. Both pastas have distinct flavours that satisfy our desires. The quantity far exceeds expectations. Ate was very accommodating and honestly shared her perspective as a Nova Scotia citizen. Overall, we had a fantastic time at Chanoey s Pasta.

*edit* Appreciate that prices have gone up. But having a hard time seeing why these dishes are now 16 to 18 dollars. This place lost the charm trying to get the all mighty dollar. *Edit* Go to a proper restaurant and get pasta made from scratch with better quality ingredients. 40 bucks for 2 meals of this isnt worth it. Ever find a spot and after eating there wonder why you had never gone there before? This is this place! They arent fancy, and the parm is that container stuff. But what a quick and filling selection of well priced food. Take them for what they are - quick meal replacement and a warm smile.

Stumbled upon this place today and really enjoyed it. Food is very good, prices are reasonable, and the owners are extremely nice and helpful. Ill be back and I definitely recommend.

Chanoeys in Dartmouth was the first place I got takeout when I moved here, and has since become my favorite place to eat. The owners are sweet and kind, the food is delicious and fairly priced, and the atmosphere of the restaurant itself is great. They are very accommodating people like me that cant eat gluten and they are very diligent about preventing cross contamination. If I have friends or family in town, I always recommend they stop into Chanoeys. Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free pasta and gluten free garlic toast! Ask staff which particular dishes are completely gluten free (p.s. the chicken alfredo is!)

I ve only ever had the Caesar salad so this rating is SOLELY based on that, the bacon was just fat, pure, inedible fat, and lettuce was browning, but the sauce was good.

Chanoey s staff was so helpful and contacted me regarding my wallet that I left behind by mistake. Such kind and friendly people and quite possibly the best pasta in the HRM. Their 4 Cheese Gnocchi is a must!!

Order for delivery ,Family meal, Received 1 out of 2 L of Pepsi and 3 out of 4 Cookies. When called told they dont carry do 2 Liters anymore and just havent bother to update, was told nothing to do to compensate for items missing, but refund thru delivery service. Overall dismissive on phone and poor service, First and last time here.

Prices do not reflect the quality of the food, barely a step above tv dinners for 15$. Lasagna does not fit any conventional description of the dish, what I received was about 10 overcooked broad noodles in what tasted like cheap tinned tomato sauce. Garlic bread wasnt even toasted.

Ordered the Bacon & Meatball Blue cheese pasta and it was amazing! Wanted to try something new with the blue cheese sauce - the food came out hot and quickly. Would recommend to anyone wanting some delicious pasta.

First of all, kudos to this immigrant-owned restaurant. They opened and expanded during a pandemic! How exceptional is that! I did not get to take pictures because I was so hungry. I ordered pulled pork pasta and my husbannd ordered spaghetti meatballs. Both are delicious. I love how the pulled pork pasta was a hint of Asian. The pasta was al dente. Although a bit pricey and the serving size was smaller than expected, the restaurant definitely lived up to our taste buds. Will come back soon.

We visited tonight and it was absolutely wonderful! Service was 10/10, very attentive and caring - the food was 10/10! Absolutely delicious! My only regret, not ordering more garlic bread! Everything was extremely fresh and well presented. We will be back!

The service and food here is usually amazing - the reason for the 4 star rating though is because I came here yesterday and ordered a chicken pesto pasta, and the chicken was slightly undercooked and very chewy, so I was a bit disappointed.

Long have I seen Chanoeys in downtown Portland in Dartmouth in the old Subway, and long have I avoided it. Their advertised fare, soup, sandwiches, pasta salads, etc, sounded like the exact opposite of the sort of thing I would be willing to part time with. The years Ive wasted. The decorum is cafe-like, but tidy, and everything was new. I dont normally comment on the atmosphere of the place, but Chanoeys was a nice place to sit and eat. Cramped, but nice. Having exactly one thing off their menu, the Montreal smoked meat panini, I can wholeheartedly endorse this place. It is a contender for the best sandwich Ive ever had, even better than that Dartmouth classic, Kels Deli. I was bummed out about paying like 15$ plus tip for a sandwich, but blown away when I got it. An absolutely enormous behemoth that had to be cut in half barely fit into the takeout box. The rye was buttery and moist, and the meat was thick with a little bit of edge fat. There was plenty of cheese. I cant stress how good this simple sandwich was.

They have a nice spinach salad and their Panini vegetable sandwich was good. Just has a few tables to eat in. I think mostly a takeout place.

My husband picked up some spaghetti and meatballs and spaghetti bolognaise for supper tonight. It was delicious, generous portions and spaghetti cooked perfectly. We will order here again for sure. The staff are friendly and my husband said the little restaurant was spotlessly clean. Thank you for the delicious supper. We will be back!

Not a good look for a kitchen to close more than an hour and a half early leaving people waiting for an order for over an hour.

The classic lasagna from the catering menu was absolutely DELICIOUS! It also came with garlic bread and although it s advertised as enough for 7-8, it would definitely serve more! We ll definitely be ordering from here again.

Wow wow wow! Ordered from here last night and got the pesto special, the signature, and the veggie pasta. All were really delicious! The portions are quite a bit bigger than I expected and each dish was full of toppings. Comfort food at its best.

A hidden gem. Fresh, hot and lots of flavour. Would not hesitate to recommend. Have returned and been equally as impressed. Another reason to live in Dartmouth!

I discovered this little gem while doing an internet search for Italian restaurants in Dartmouth. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised! Clean restaurant, reasonable prices, generous portions and very, very tasty food. Actually ordered from there 2 nights last week for my family and everyone (one person being a very picky eater) was more than happy with the delicious pastas, paninis and salads. Will definitely be going back!

Saw the incredible reviews and just had to know. Absolutely the most delicious pasta Ive had in a long time. I had gnocchi + house salad and my partner had alfredo + ceasar salad. Unreal. Incredible value (the portion size? amazing), ready within 15 minutes of ordering and incredible delicious. Definitely recommend! Support local!! (No pictures because I inhaled it oops)

Best food along portland street!

Food was good. Wish the serving sizes were larger, but decently priced. Vegetarian options were spot on. Chicken was a little funny, was a weird texture fluffy and spongy, I presume frozen. Alfredo was well seasoned.

I was really impressed with the speed and quality of the food. Im really glad this is in Dartmouth, this joint has a lot of effort poured in to it. Will be back, a lot.

Beef stroganoff matchless, linguine Bolognese the tiniest hint of spice, not too spicy...perfect...I ate it for a few days. Every day it was yumny. The staff was also very sweet and friendly + not a long wait for hot, excellent food either. Most definitely going back to try some chicken alfredo linguine and their scallops I hope...Highly recommend if you love pasta done awesomely...

Wont be returning. Tried it, didnt live up to the photos. The tiger shrimp dish was bland, the veggies and shrimp were raw. No parm was provided for either of our dishes. The Caesar salad was very gross. They need a new sauce and new bacon. Waste of money

Ended up going in to check out Chanoeys tonight for supper, and OMG. I ended up getting the meat lasagna and my partner got their special of the day a Creamy chicken pesto! It was super fresh-tasting, and delicious. Cute place, they did a great job with the simple but clean decor. Also taking great precautions in regards to Covid and social distancing/cleanliness. Watch out #downtowndartmouth I think we have a new favourite coming in We will definitely be going back! (Doesnt hurt that its literally 2 minutes down the street and there are lunch specials!)! My only regret is forgetting to take a picture because the smell was too good I dug right in!

Friendly staff that serves amazing food. My girlfriend and I got an order of the chicken alfredo and a bowl of their pumpkin soup; we both agree it was some of the best chicken alfredo we have had in a long time, while the soup was a great complementary addition and surprisingly tasty.

Please try this cute little place in Downtown Dartmouth! It has recently opened (late due to covid) and they were very friendly with great service. The 2 of us each had the cheese and broccoli soup which was really good, but the pasta of the day which had lamb, onions, pesto, feta... AMAZING! Not only was the flavour combo great, but the lamb was cooked beautifully and just melted in your mouth! I will definitely be going again to try to help this new, local restaurant get on its feet <3

The pork adobo was absolutely incredible! It was the special on the sign with one order left and I was lucky to grab it. Melted on my tongue. Fast and friendly. Give this locally owned pasta and panini place a try!

Finally tried this place out today, and I will defintely be a regular! Friendly, fast service, great portions and insanely tasty, filling food. This is soul food, food just for the joy of it. We even had fun watching them cook it up in just a couple of minutes! Cant wait to come back

Finally had the chance to try Chanoeys last week and Ive already been back a second time! Im recommending this quaint little shop to everyone I know! Fast, friendly service and the food... the food is insanely good! Seriously, this place is punching way above their weight. When the Adobo is the daily special... proceed immediately - avoiding all stop lights and stop signs - and get an order; youll thank me later.

I agree with the reviews that the space is quaint and the staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. But if you are looking for a fresh homemade meal, which we were, I would not recommend this restaurant. Everything tasted like it had been purchased pre-made and reheated. One reviewer wrote I watched them make my meal in minutes. Best description of my meal would be if MacDonalds served pasta it would taste very similar to the meal we were served.

One of the best things that ever happened to downtown Dartmouth was Subway closing and Chanoeys opening up in its place. Great, tasty, fresh, affordable lunches, and I LOVE the subtle Filipino twists!

Tonight, I took the plunge and tried this modest eatery for the first time, along with three family members. I relished the gnocchi ragu and spinach salad and sampled the other diners fare, and I m pleased to say that everything exceeded my expectations. If you are a pasta lover with an adventurous food spirit, you must try their delicious offerings. There is nothing that can rival the taste and texture of freshly made pasta, and the owner-chef, Carl, was head chef at Il Trullo restaurant, which explains his expertise and flavour mastery. He is accompanied by his eager-to-please wife, who serves as hostess and sous chef. We tried just one dessert: the cannoli. I can honestly say that it was better than what I experienced even while in Italy. It is simply the best ending to an already perfect meal.

We tried Chanoeys Pasta for the first time today. We have been trying to give our business to local vendors and we decided to give these guys a try. What a wonderful discovery!!! We ordered 3 different plates (Bacon & Meatball Rosé (Daily Special), Taco Salad and Gnocchi Ragu) for 3 people and shared with each other. Everything was absolutely fantastic! Fresh ingredients, beautifully cooked and a pleasure for all yours senses. Do yourself a favour and give these guys a try. You wont regret it! :)
