We did take-out and there was a minor problem with the order and Millstone exceeded my expectations resolving the matter. All of the staff were friendly and professional. The food is consistently excellent.
We tried the fish tacos with mango salsa, paired with a side of Caesar salad. The mango salsa added a refreshing flavor that complemented the fish perfectly, and the Caesar salad was prepared just right. We also had the fish and chips, which I believe were made with a beer batter—crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Both dishes were served in generous portions, making for a satisfying meal overall. The atmosphere leans more toward a sports bar, with plenty of historical sports memorabilia decorating the space. However, the music was pleasant, creating a decent balance for the vibe. Overall, the food was the highlight—delicious across the board!
Came here with my wife recently and the experience was not what we were expecting. Our server was super nice and attentive. The food on the other hand was not great. We ordered the Deep Fried Pickles for an appetizer. The pickles were okay, no real flavour from them alone. The dipping sauce was very flavourful and definitely saved the dish. I ordered the Fish and Chips for my main, and my wife got the Thai Chicken Salad. My fish was not very crispy and had no flavour at all. The Coleslaw and Tartar Sauce were both bland. The only good part of the meal was the fries, which were nice and crispy. My wife did not enjoy her salad. There was not much chicken added and she had to pick out pieces of spinach, because they did not look fresh. She stated that the flavours were underwhelming. Overall it was a very disappointing meal and we probably will not be back.
We have dined at the Dartmouth location many times and have enjoyed the food and service. Tonight was different. 3 people from our table ordered the chicken sliders, which I have had before. As you can see from the picture, one order was quite a bit smaller than the other two. Also, I ordered sweet potato fries instead of the regular fries and I was told that because I switched the fries, my meal wouldn’t come with a salad as it usually does. I assumed that because they took the salad away, that was in lieu of an up charge and the server didn’t mention the up charge. When my bill came I asked about the $4.00 charge and was told it was listed on the menu. So my question is, if I was going to be paying an up charge, why did they take the salad away since I was paying for it anyway? And why would the kitchen send 3 identical meals to the same table and not have consistent serving sizes? Needless to say, this visit was a disappointment.
This is one of my favourite restaurants. I was there today with my daughters and I decided to get something different to my usual curry and chips with the candied bacon burger. I decided to try the festive turkey dinner. It was really nice with just enough of everything and plenty of turkey. I did request more gravy. My daughters got their version of a smoke meat sandwich which was more like brisket but she loved it. The other got the Alfredo pasta as that’s her favourite. I also got the buttermilk sliders to go for hubby. Service was great as always from the tall blonde hmm I’m useless with names but it might be Morgan. Food was delicious as always.
Good atmosphere, good buzz in the air. We were expecting a pub. Very nice inside, nicer than expected. The patio is nice because it's glassed in. I was expecting to be cold but wasn't because the wind was blocked. Food was very good. Could definitely greet and seat people faster; we waited a while and there was no one other than us waiting. Service was overall very good though. Our waiter was extremely nice and accommodating with my dairy allergy!
The Nachos were absolutely AMAZING!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Nachos. The chicken wings were amazing, my husband raved about the flavour of the HOT WINGS, they did run out of Honey Garlic though so I was not able to try the wings myself. We ordered dessert along with a cocktail and beer. I had the Ocean Pearl, it was very delicious. My husband and I will definitely be back to have the Nachos again! Restaurant was nice inside with a good atmosphere, the option of Bar side or Restaurant. Service was also really great, friendly and Quick.
Had the candied bacon burger and it was fantastic. Great conversational atmosphere and decore. The front doors could use a vestibule as the cold winds blasted through the restaurant. Second visit not as busy this go and decided to eat on the patio. Candied burger and poutine was Devine. The poutine gravy was amazing and definitely a good add on. Burger itself makes my top 3 easily with nice bun with wagyu beef and candied bacon mmmmm. Wife ordered the haddock with mash and she enjoyed it thoroughly. Service is on par but nothing extraordinary. Overall good night out tonight compared to the last visit. Third visit had the candied bacon burger and chicken vindaloo. Burger was great however the bacon wasn’t as candied as the first experience. Ended up getting a bunch of butt ends for fries which wasn’t as great. The vindaloo was good size with tons of chicken but wasn’t as authentic as some places. Was still tasty. Was served a dirty cup of water which I had promptly replaced. Service this go was hit and miss. Waitress completely disappeared by the time we were done so we checked ourselves out as we were done waiting. Restaurant was not busy at all. We decided to sit outside but I would recommend a sweater as the winds can get pretty high off the highway.
We went here for a change and were so glad we did! You can tell this is a regular spot for many in the area as we heard customers being addressed by name by the super-friendly staff. Tons of menu options - I was craving a burger and had the candied bacon burger recommended while my partner ordered a one piece fish & chips which our server, Robyn, recommended one piece of you are hungry, two pieces if you are really hungry - and she was not kidding. The piece of perfectly battered fish was HUGE and he enjoyed it and barely finished it. The burger was delicious - and we both agreed that the fries were cooked to perfection. We had no room for dessert but learned they serve Antoinettes Cheesecakes from the nearby bakery. We said we will need to make this a regular spot for us to eat out. Cozy atmosphere, great food, great staff, and a great location in Dartmouth. Kid-friendliness: No problem bringing children here - plenty of seating and there are menu options for kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible parking, wheelchair accessible entrance and there are tables as well as booths. I did not go to the bathroom so cant confirm that there are accessible stalls.

Always friendly service and great food. My coworkers and I often go for a quick bite and a beer after work and its always great! Parking: Its in a strip mall with a huge parking lot. Ive never had a problem finding parking.
Im not sure why I havent visited the place previously, but clearly Ive made a mistake in skipping over it! First the atmosphere All in all its a great pub style atmosphere with a bar you can sit at to enjoy some drinks and food. The decor fits the theme nicely and it has a great pub style feel. Service The servers were all incredible during my visit. My wife and I had a bit of a wait, so we chose to sit at the bar and have a drink. On numerous occasions a server would come by and give us an update as to our waiting time and made sure we were well looked after. Once seated at our tab00le, it just continued. Quick, friendly and very pleasant service all around! Food The food was amazing. We ordered the mussels in white wine and garlic to start and they were so good! Next we ordered the chicken sliders and they were perfect! Such a great meal to share (it comes with two sliders). All in all, this place is top notch when it comes to the food, service and atmosphere. Overall price is decent as well, definitely on par with any other pubs around! Well done Millstone, I will see you again soon!
My chicken sliders and my wife s scallops in pasta were overcooked. The chicken was also dark and not visibly appealing. I left most of mine in the plate. I was surprised that waiter did not question why I did not finish it.

My friend and I came here for a couple appetizers and a drink, the service was awesome, the food was so fresh and came out very quickly. We will definitely be returning!:)

We had a great time at the Baker Drive location the other day. We have visited the other locations and they were okay, but our server Wilson made our visit to the Baker Drive location a 10/10 experience. The food was phenomenal, the service was fantastic, and we re already planning our next visit back! The buttermilk chicken biscuit sliders were incredible and my husband and I both agreed that this was one of the tastiest things we ve had at a restaurant in years.
Fantastic food. Great atmosphere, great beer. Only thing preventing a 5 star was a found the wings small and underwhelming compared to other equally priced dishes.
We placed an order for three fish n chips and one order of the bean burger. We waited about ten minutes. The fries were barely ok, the fish n chips tasted undercooked. The batter was thick and mushy. The bean burger was bland. Really disappointing!

Our server was aggressively defensive , gave us the wrong cheque, there were icecubes in my espresso martini and the fries were sopping wet with grease. The chicken sliders and ceasar salad were exceptional as always and the saving grace to a someone not so great experience

Wow, what a great experience. Great service, fantastic food and one of the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen in a restaurant. I had the Classic Haddock and it was the best haddock I have eaten in a long time! Vegetarian options: A couple of vegetarian entree options on the menu would be nice.

Visiting Dartmouth, we wanted to find a new (to us) place to get supper that was kid friendly. Found Millstone and they had a decent kid menu that would please my son and daughter. I had the blackened haddock. I was very happy with my dish. The only thing I would have changed is it was a little light on the sauted veggies, but it was quite delicious. My wife had the chicken parmesan, and the kids had A grilled cheese and Alfredo pasta. Everyone was pleased, and the kids especially loved the ice cream sandwich dessert. We will return.
Excellent food! Some gluten free options. Once they made pasta for me with a box of unopened GF noodles, and it was one of the best pastas Ive ever eaten. (And I used to work fine dining and gourmet catering in Toronto!) But they told me once only, because of sanitary reasons. I was disappointed with this. I can understand if I brought in raw meat or fish, but dry pasta in a box does not pose any sanitary issues at all. Anyhow, the staff are good and friendly, its kind of like Cheers (the old tv sitcom). Worst is that the walls and ceilings are square and reflective, so it is REALLY LOUD when full. Great place great food. But please, have a couple boxes of GF noodles on hand!
Staff friendly and efficient. Had a great meal of fish tacos. My husband had a burger and it was nicely done just the way he likes it. Koodos to the chef we will return

Been going here for years, always fantastic. Last night had a small accident with a meal and the restaurant responded way above any normal expectation. They respect their customers, their staff and the service they provide. Absolute gem of a place, will always recommend.
Fries stale, wings dry and sauce was very sugary, but the garlic mayo was great!
Pricey fried food
Their buttermilk chicken biscuit sliders are amazing! Like 9.3/10 territory! You wont be disappointed if your wanting chicken, and also they have great drink prices late, I believe after 9pm! Place was a bit smaller than expected but the food completely removed all my worries!
Solid atmosphere and succeeds at what its aiming to be. Nothing outside of the box but sometimes thats ideal and it makes the Millhouse nice and cozy. Im docking it points on food because the best part was wing night, which is still on the online menu, but no longer available. Sad Food
Location is far from downtown, however Location is perfect for people around the area. There is a lot of free parking which it makes it easier to be there. Decorations and layout , I liked the layout and decorations, it is cozy and romantic, the restaurant can fit large group as well. Cleanliness: cleaning is acceptable Time waiting to be seated, my experience the restaurant was busy but we found seats available immediately. Time to be served, was reasonable Service from my experience it was excellent the waitress well knowledgeable about the ingredients and can explain it well. Food presentation was excellent Food was rich tasty, delicious and yummy . Prices $$ affordable and reasonable. Conclusion, I am coming back to taste a different plate Parking: Plenty of shots

Been here 2x this week. Excellent. The only thing is that this public house is in an open mall, should be in a quaint town or village. It has that feel to it.

Excited to visit this place ambiance looked great! However, our first experience was unfortunately terrible. As we came to the front door saw the place was busy and asked if we could sit at the bar and we were initially told yes. We had our 8 year old with us. As we were in the process of pulling our chairs to sit we were then told by the hostess that we can t sit at the car because we had a minor with us. Keep in mind it s only 7:30 pm. We frequent many busy restaurants in the city and typically always sit at the bar with our daughter for reasons being quick service someone to chat with and we like the high sitting. We weren t given any explanation except that no minors allowed to sit at the bar any time and that s what the hostess was told. We were dismissed after that and didn t feel comfortable to wait to be seated.

Great food, great staff, great prices overall and excellent spot for an evening out. Whether it s date night or a big group meal these guys rock both.

I will start out by saying that most every other meal here has been perfect but this time. I was very disappointed! I had fish with onion rings. It was a little slow coming to the table. Then when I did get my meal. The onions were under cooked and the fish was no longer hot.( Id say something was forgotten) We did decide to order a brownie desert. Which took even longer to get. The waitress kept coming back to see if I needed another beer but never once asked how our meal was. I know how good this restaurant can be so I was very disappointed to experience this poor food quality and poor service. If this had been my first meat there. I would not go back. You can do so much better Millstone Public House!

Great pub with lots of choices on tap. Well prepared and presented tasty food. Excellent and friendly service. A little noisy if you happen to be sitting next to a group table, but hey.... Its a pub and that is to be expected.
We ordered four turkey dinners for takeout on Christmas Eve with plans to heat them up on Christmas Day for our dinner. (Our life is a bit hectic right now and I knew cooking a big turkey dinner wouldn t be possible so I wanted to do something quick and easy). I wasn t sure how well they would reheat, but they turned out great! The veggies were still crisp, the potatoes were delicious and the turkey was still moist. We were all very pleased with our meals and would definitely do this again! Thank you for a delicious Christmas dinner Millstone!

First time eating here at Milestones in Mic Mac mall Dartmouth Nova Scotia and can only describe it as fabulous!!! Ordered from the brunch menu.. Had Wagyu beef Shakshuka Was outstanding:) 5* best brunch meal I have had in I can t remember (lol maritime lingo) The price was right on point with the quantity and five star quality..! Will return and highly recommend all to go and try:) Barry..

Service was good, but food was way overdone. 8 small wings and 8 tiny scallops per dish. Also way overpriced. Probably wont be going back.

The food was amazing! Probably best chicken sandwich ever. The one downside to the experience was the wait time. I understand it was quite busy but it took us like 1hr 30 to get in then get food. I might have gone on a busy day or short staff day. But highly recommend getting food to eat, just check the time and date!
Id heard so much hype about this place, and finally after years of planning to go, went. I gave it the ultimate test-- fish and chips (and onion rings). It was, indeed, a very nice piece of fish! The overall flavour (batter, deep-fry) was unremarkable, though, as were the onion rings. Certainly a decent meal, but nothing to write a 5-star review for. I have a suspicion, though, that if I went back for one of their burgers Id be more impressed. The service was excellent! Helpful, attentive, but not intrusive. The atmosphere was very nice, and I was glad to be nestled in a quiet corner in the bar area, rather than the busy dining area. Ill probably go back at some point to test my burger hypothesis.

They got my son a high chair when he asked... hes 3... they said sure and brought it right over and cleared the table for us right away etc. They were very nice and sweet girls working here and Im very happy with their service and the amazing food! We were in the room at the back. Nice atmosphere....very pub like. I had the blacked chicken club caeser salad and fries ...very filling. 11 people in our group which kept the server very busy but she did a great job.

The service at Millstone Public House is absolutely top shelf! Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the buttermilk sliders as much as I thought I would. They were very dense, a but dry, and could have used some acidity to round out the flavour of the dish. Also, my cocktail really needed to come with a straw to mix it better. The gin royale was sitting on top of the lemonade.

The candied bacon burger was simply awesome. The beef patty was perfectly seasoned, moist. The candied bacon is GOAT ! Fresh home cut fries and this may sound trival, but the glass of water was actually drinkable compared to other restaurants. Fast service without rushing us and very reseasonably priced. Making a reservation is recommended. Parking: No issues at all

Disappointed, we arrive around 450 and there were not a lot of patrons, prior to entering we had already viewed the menu online and had an idea of what we were going to order. We ordered the nachos to start, and the chips were stale, not seasoned, and the ground beef (6$ extra to add on) was burnt and had no flavor. 30$ just for an appetizer that was quite a bad starter. We were really excited about their drink menu, but half of the drinks could not be ordered due to shortage of ingredients or staff not being able to make them. Although the drinks we did receive were good just not a lot of selection due to the ingredients/staff. For both my partner and Is dish we got the chicken biscuit sliders, with poutine and Caesar salad as the side. The poutine and caesar salad were about average. The chicken itself was delicious but the biscuit was a little dry and could have benefited from the sauce being put on the biscuit than on the actual chicken, as we found it hard to taste the sauce. In total, it is a pretty expensive bill for a starter and two meals, and two drinks each, there are better options that will run you the same prices. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, they have a kids menu and there were a lot of familys present when we were there.

Good food, a good atmosphere and great service. We often come here for work parties during the holidays and lunches. Parking is easily accessible and making a reservation (when you give them enough notice) is easy. My only critique is that they used to have an amazing caesar salad that I would order every time I visited. The last few times it has been disappointing.

Our visit here was lovely. Beautiful inside but a little cramped so we opted for the patio which was lovely and quiet. The chicken parm was amazing. The Alfredo was good and the chicken was moist! I recommend getting the garlic bread with it too. I did get the blueberry sour and it was WAY too sour, was basically just pure lemon juice, but everything else was amazing.

The staff was very friendly but unfortunately the food left us . The chicken sliders are very dry/hard, scarce on toppings and chicken is very overcooked. My son ordered the kids meal burger and asked for only cheese and ketchup on his burger.....he recieved a burger bun with ONLY cheese and ketchup. He gagged so hard his eyes watered and then refused to eat anything after that. Lol. The successful part of our familys meal was my daughters kids meal pasta. Womp womp. Pricing is on par with most restaurants* Family of 5. $100

As a party of 5, including two seniors in their 80 s, we had just arrived in Halifax from Ontario on a Saturday night. We were looking for a restaurant that had seafood on the menus that was open past 8pm. We found this listing, called and confirmed they were open and headed over. We were surprised how empty the restaurant (and the parking lot)was it seemed like no one was there. However, we were hungry and persevered. A very friendly waitress seated us and helped us with drinks. The food was excellent! The chowder was the best we had on our 10 day trip and set the bar very high. We never had another bowl of chowder that came close to the flavour of this one (and we tried it in many restaurants). I gave 3 stars for atmosphere because the restaurant was so empty but the restaurant is clean, has comfortable seating and nice decor. I would go back. Wheelchair accessibility: On person in our party has a walker. It was easily accommodated.

I have tried most of their menu options and they have never failed to please. The Signature Haddock is a must try (Order it blackened) and it will blow your mind as you scrape the plate. From shrimp , to scallops and Chicken Vindaloo , they just seem to knock their menu items out of the park. The atmosphere is good and the views can be great depending on your seat.The patio is great seasonally. Service is great , except this one waitress that comes off really kinda snotty ~The dark haired white one with tattoos, the rest are great
This was our third visit. The first two were when they first opened, and we were very disappointed. Between the long wait and ok food, we decided to avoid the place. Several years later, we decided to revisit. We were extremely pleased with service, food, and atmosphere. We have put this on our again spot.

Friendly staff and clean atmosphere. Went with 2 others. We all enjoyed our food. I ordered the jambalaya. Tastes great. However, it was never indicated on the menu how spicy it was. Managed to finish it after a long struggle of excessively clearing my sinuses. I wont be ordering this again due to its spiciness. I will however return to try out other things. I absolutely enjoyed my experience! They serve tremendous fish and poutine and the brownie tower was the best desert I have ever had in my entire life! I would highly recommend this place and I will be going back!

There are two locations in dartmouth, better parking options at baker drive but better atmosphere at kings wharf.

First of all, this place had the nicest mens room that I have ever seen in a restaurant. Thats no small thing. The service was excellent. However, even if the server slapped me and the washroom was a dank pit, Id be back for the food. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal, without exception. I personally had the maple curry chicken penne, and I highly recommend it. The sauce was perfect - rich and flavorful, with a nice, mild kick. My son raved about the fish tacos, and my nephew inhaled the jambalaya. I was extremely pleased with every aspect of the dining experience. I will definitely be back.
The food here was pretty good. I got the chicken parm. I very rarely get pasta dishes but for some reason I did on this day and thay did not disappoint. Lots of chicken Not a overwhelming size bowl of pasta Great taste

I was here twice within the span of a week, both for work related gatherings. The two experiences could not have been more different. The first was so pleasant that I was really looking forward to the second. Thats why I was so incredibly disappointed by the second. I cant see any reason to try again. Parking: Large parking lot, one of the primary draws of the location.
