Alderney Landing, 2 Ochterloney St, Dartmouth, NS B2Y 1B2, Canada
On the Dartmouth waterfront, Evan's offers fresh fish, both in dispay and kitchen. Order at the counter and be served, or opt for take out. Since June 2024, Evan's opened a Beer Garden with ample seating and an amazing view of Halifax.
It was part of the canteen like place because it was winter (visited on December 6th), and I felt or actually was overcharged for their lobster roll. They said $36 was without fries on the side but their menu wasn’t stating that. With fries it was supposed to be $36 and the sandwich alone was for $30, but they still charged me $36 for the sandwich. I paid $36 plus tip and still nobody corrected it. I paid first before getting it served, so I didn’t want to bother much. You do need to pay full attention to it if you still decide to go there regardless.
The lobster roll was incredible, will absolutely be back for this and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The homemade bun was a nice touch. Light gluten free batter on the fish really helped highlight the freshness of the fish.
Came here as a recommendation from my sister. I got the fish and chips which were amazing!! There was lots of seating and staff were very diligent in checking in on your experience. I was brought ketchup, salt, pepper and two types of vinegar to my table without having to request it. The price was a little expensive but for the amount of options they provided and their ease of access off the ferry, it was understandable. Would definitely come again!
Holy Mackerel! Didn't see that on the manu, but if they did, I am quite sure it would be delicious! I did ask a foodie cousin where to get a great lobster roll, and Evan's was the place to go. 100% right! From first bite to last morsel, the lobster roll was fantastic. Order at the counter inside, then enjoy some terrific food with a really great view from the beer garden. I paired with a lovely white wine, and am hard pressed to think of a better experience. It's that good. I have no doubt that if you try Evan's, you will not be disappointed.
We were in the east coast for a week and Evan’s is the worst place we ate. one of the oysters in my platter was so small that it should not have been served to me. The lobster roll was $26 and it was served on a tiny kid size hot dog bun, the smallest out of all the rolls we ate on this trip. We were shocked and disappointed . The sizes of the lobster roll is also inconsistent between customers, we saw other tables with lobster rolls on Kaiser and other buns. The chowder was runny. lobster poutine taste ok, nothing special.
What a beautiful family run restaurant, a real gem. Stopped in here last week for lunch, and a return trip is definite must! The lobster roll was perfect, packed with huge amounts of meat with a nice amount of mayo mixture to complete this little piece of art. The pan-fried Haddock was outstanding, perfectly cooked non-greasy, just perfectly flavourful. And the beverages were tasty as well. Super fresh fish, wonderfully prepared at great prices. Thanks to the great and friendly staff at Evan's for a super lunch.
Overpriced average price. It's cheaper to get something on the Halifax boardwalk. The platter for 2 at $40 is a joke ! A pile of fries and very little fish. You are better off with fish and chips there or anywhere else! The guy at the cashier can also learn to talk to his clients a bit better!! Also the $30 lobster roll was not good at all.
Great selection of local beers, ciders and sours. I loved that you can order your food inside, then head out to the beautiful waterfront beergarden and they will bring your food to you! The oysters were fantastic: fresh and flavourful. A great place to enjoy fresh seafood or wait for the ferry, as the terminal is just next door.
Delicious Fish & Chips or Jambalaya (rice dish, slightly spicy). It s down near the water and on weekends there s a little market in the hall with live music. Loved going there. Food
Not bad
Really good place to have seafood. It is a mall like setting with tables and chairs would be in a food court.
Best seafood in HRM
A great place to have lunch or a beer on a great day!
I guess I expected more than one carrot and maybe a little more potatoes. Some tartar sauce for my grilled fish would have been nice. Maybe some butter? Utensils? Didn t realize I have to ask for it on a take out order. Fish is reallygood. Much bigger portions at the other seafood restaurants and cheaper.
Great gf fish and chips. And the gf onion rings. Wow. Everything was delicious. Great staff. Will definitely return. There were even gf deserts on their menu.
The fish Isnt seasoned that well and the fries are ok
Went on Saturday. Had seafood lasagna and was great.
We tried the fish and chips in September. While the food was good, the portion size felt small for the price. They put a unique spin on the dish by using less batter, so it doesn t have a classic feel. The team was very friendly, and sitting on the patio added to the pleasant atmosphere. Parking: Easy parking after 6pm on any day.
Great gluten free seafood and the new beer garden is a great space. It is our first stop when we visit Dartmouth and our last stop before we leave. Dietary restrictions: Amazing gluten free meals and cakes.
Delicious food and excellent customer service.
My favourite place for fish and everything from the sea. Highly recommend
You wont be sorry... and you get what you pay for, nice fresh fish!
Had the platter for two. Delicious! The scallops were sweet, the fish and chips were crispy and flaky. Definitely worth a visit!
A must try for fresh seafood!! I am a fan of the spicy fish ! We come here Everytime we visit Halifax
Best lobster roll and pan fried haddock I ve had! Perfect portions and super savory!
Great fresh seafood with a beautiful patio view of Halifax!
Good seafood. Simple
The best thing about this place is the location - waterfront patio with views of Halifax. We found the food very overpriced ($10 for ONE taco, adding fries to a sandwich was an extra $7). We got a lobster roll with fries, clams & chips, and no drinks and it came to $80. Furthermore, we weren t impressed with the food. The lobster roll was really dry and the bread was hard, the fries were starchy and limp, and some of the clams tasted a little off. I would recommend sitting on the patio for some drinks and to look at the view, but we won t be ordering food here again. It s disappointing as it s such a great location and we saw many tourists there, likely trying their first seafood in NS.
Clams and Chips. Worst clams I ever had. Bunch of pieces. too bad I always enjoyed your fish and chips in the past. Will buy fish and chips in the future , however never Clams
We love this place and we stop by every time we are in the area. The seafood platter is a great deal, 2 pieces of fish, 4 scallops, 1/2 order of clams, fries and salad for $35. Everything is cooked perfectly and the scallops are big, sweet and tasty.
Lovely partnership between the beer garden and Evan s Seafood. Great food and beer on the waterfront! Parking: Free parking at the ferry terminal after 6pm
Lobster was fantastic. The fish was crispy and tender.
First time in Dartmouth and wanted something simple and local. Saw this place while checking out the crafts near the ferry and what a find! Had the fish & chips and a shrimp taco. Absolutely delicious!! Fresh & tasty!
Great view and great food! The lobster roll is the best Ive had! They were sadly out of oysters but the other food made up for it. Would go back again!
The pager wasnt working so we didnt get a notification that our food was ready. Food was delish, atmosphere was great- even had live music
I absolutely love their fish. It truly is the best. I was surprised to find out that everything is gf, including their chocolate cake and banana bread. I asked how they could make everything so delicious without gluten and the wonderfully charming woman who served us said it had something to do with unicorns and rainbows. I believed her.
I have been several times at Evans Seafood and never disappointed. Their lobster rolls are the best in HRM, I tried their trout burger and it was delish. Plus now having the luxury to eat those treats in the terrace of their beer garden in front of the bay is a must. I recommend fully to see Ouss and Joline (owners) who would give you a taste of Nova Scotia with their menu! Vegetarian options: Cauliflower tacos
Exactly what Halifax needed! This place takes seafood and freshness to a whole new level. I highly recommend trying the restaurant, Absolutely a 10/10 experience!
tldr; fresh seafood but inconsistent portions and pricey First time there, got the small seafood platter for one. kind lady at the cashier told me that it comes with 1/2 order of scallops and 1/4 clams, 1 fish, and 1 side. they were generous the first time, giving an extra piece of fish. two weeks later, we got the seafood platter for two. was told that it was double the small platter. however, we only got 4 scallops instead of 6, and overall felt that the portion size of the clams and sides fell short of what we expected (based on the size of the small platter we previously got). though the seafood was lightly battered and fries were crispy, i was disappointed with the inconsistent portions considering the price point.
Such a wonderful restaurant with delicious food and a stunning view! Really affordable too!
Great spot on the river looking back at Halifax commercial district. Good food and drink. No fee for parking there Sat night Food
Cute and casual spot with a decent variety of options. Their lobster roll and tacos are very good. Can grab a beer on the patio outside and watch the ferry.
The lineup for lunch was so large, didnt bother to get any food. Just refreshment at outdoor bar.
Staff were polite and helpful, and the food was great! Finally, fried seafood for the gluten-free folk that tastes so good Dietary restrictions: Many gluten-free options. This is the only restaurant Ive found with gluten free fried seafood, and it was great.
The Jambalaya I had was amazing. It had all kind of fish in it and was fresh. The view was also incredible.
A great spot for fried seafood right by the shore. We got the platter for 2 and honestly everything was sooooo good. Scallops and clams were our favourite and highly recommended! There is plenty of parking available, but its paid parking and $3/hr.
Looks like my review was taken down. But to recap it was too little food for too much money everyone looks grumpy barely spoke or asked how anything was and there was very little taste we were a table of four and nobody was happy with their food maybe just an off day as I see so many positive reviews
One of the best lobster rolls I had in NS. Nice and friendly service too.
Don t be fooled by the food court pictures. There s an outdoor patio with reasonably priced drinks available, right on the harbour, and the food is both reasonably priced and tasty. Fish and chips were a little bland, but the chowder, oysters, and beer were great. Definitely a hidden gem I ll be back to. Kid-friendliness: Alcohol is available, but it s not rowdy.
Was actually amazing
Greasy yucky fish, place needs a good cleaning and overhaul. Wont be going back!
Awesome food and great atmosphere by the Water!
The lobster roll was not worth $30. The flavours were completely lacking. Barely any garlic butter. The roll was good and crunchy and the portion of lobster was decent, but I was picking out cartilage the whole sandwich. They could take more care for $30 + tx + tip on one sandwich (no side). Id look elsewhere if youre craving a good lobster roll.
Great place for a cold one and delicious seafood eats. Lots of outdoor seating and super chill atmosphere.
Loved the lobster rolls! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for fresh seafood.
Best sea food ever!
*In short* We love Evans! *2024 update* August long weekend and the food continues to impress. The service felt a little less friendly this time but it was a chaotic long weekend. *2023 update* Thanks to a little thing called the pandemic its been several years since our last visit, but Evans doesnt disappoint. The new (to us at least) seafood platter was the perfect way to have a little bit of everything. The staff is super friendly and accommodating and we love sitting out on the patio. We continue to love Evans and always plan one of our vacation days around it. *The details* We live in Alberta, but visit the Halifax area usually about once a year. When we are here we make sure this is on our list of places to visit. Its become a bit of a family tradition. They have a large selection of gluten free options (almost the entire menu now, including desserts) So far we havent been disappointed. Weve had everything from their mouth watering crispy and flaky fish & chips to the decadent creamy and rich lobster poutine. The scallops are perfectly cooked and the clams always come with a huge portion. Actually everything is provided in significant quantities so we always leave feeling like weve overeaten (maybe thats because we over order too since everything is so good). The kids fish and chips comes on a great fish plate that our two little ones love. If youre on the Halifax side or visiting the area turn it into an adventure and take the ferry over. With kids this turns a simple lunch out into an exploration. We highly recommend that you check this out! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free!
Anyone wants the worst service here please come here to consume. I ordered a soup and a burger, they only gave me the soup. After sipping my soup for half an hour, they just told me they don t have the burger in my order. I have to order again and wait for it! No sorry at all! I don t even want to mention they dropped the fork on my hands heavily! Oh, you know what, they charged you before you eat and they stared at you when you pay! I really regret my 15% tip. The LEAST recommended restaurant in Halifax
Chips were deadly good. Fish was perfectly cooked. The gluten-free batter was good but didnt deliver what a traditional batter does.
Beautiful view View of Halifax Quick service Yummy fish Food : 4/5 |
Best fish and chips Ive ever had hands down. Nice thin batter, no uncooked stuff like most places. Wont be getting fish and chips anywhere else.
This was one of the most disappointing meals we ve had in recent memory. First of all you order at a counter and food is brought to your picnic table. Drinks are ordered similarly from another counter. The staff was completely indifferent and seemed bothered when asked questions. The food was cold and overpriced. Had to ask for cutlery. Salmon burger was not seared salmon but a seemingly previously frozen salmon cake. The $18 lobster poutine had 3 meager pieces of lobster. Would never go back and would never recommend to anyone.
Lovely place to enjoy sea food
Avoid like the plague. It s a cafeteria not a restaurant. No service. Chowder was like cold almond milk with stale fish in it. Seared salmon burger was actually a frozen fish patty pan fried. Bar maid could have cared less about her job.
Amazing food, dedicated celiac friendly fryers and once again the food is just brilliant!! Great selection too! One of my absolute favourite places! The lobster poutine in particular is just spectacular!! Edit: 3 years later still just as delicious! The gluten free platter is amazing-fish, scallops, clams, fries or onion rings or salad! The scallop is particularly amazingly delicious! And fresh seafood as well. No food pictures cause I always eat it too quickly!
An Alderny staple! Get the platter!
great food, good prices and a beautiful little portside patio, couldn t ask for more. easy lunch spot for a tourist from the big smoke
The view was great, great selection of drinks, and the food was fantastic.
So many gluten free options
this is a take out only place located right beside the ferry terminal. they have a designated patio space for the guests to dine in. food is being served once you have ordered and paid at the counter. lots of variety.
Very nice spot, with a great lookout! Prices were fair, and food is nice quality as well! Definitely worth checking out if you are at the ferry!
I order here often but have been left on hold over the phone for the last 11 minutes , I hung up to call back after nobody came back to the phone to take my order and theyre now closed ? and the phone is going straight to voicemail.
Delicious definitely worth trying.
The chowder is watery and does not look like a real chowder at all. Plus, its as expensive as in a restaurant, but the quality is like in fast food.
The chowder is very watery, and more looks like a fish soup. If you are looking for the chowder place, this is not the best place.
Best lobster roll this trip. Very good shrimp taco and fish taco. More of a food court atmosphere hence the lower score but if youre in Dartmouth stop by for sure your taste buds will thank you.
This is the best fish and chips place in HRM. Absolute must for everyone living in NS or traveling here. Price is accessible to everyone, quality of the seafood is A1 - I cannot recommend Evans enough.
Had the seafood chowder. It was very thin and not creamy. Mainly fish chunks and lacked variety in other seafood. Mussels were extra. For the same price there should be better elsewhere?
Such an awesome location! Sat on the new deck and enjoyed one of the best lobster roles I have personally eaten! Wife loved the Fish Tacos! Very Highly recommended!!
Ordered the lobster rolls, really fresh and delicious. The wait wasnt too long, and the service was friendly. Theres a little patio outside to sit and enjoy your food by the water.
Well worth the short ferry ride from Halifax. We were told these will have the best lobster rolls in town - they were right!
Cute takeout counter with table drop off to the exterior beergarden. Reasonably quick service and a nicely varied menu. Halibut taco is a win, as is the cheeseburger, but avoid the popcorn shrimp if you prefer fresh as opposed to frozen.
Great gluten free options Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free Food : 5/5 |
Not worth the money. Differently overpriced for the quality of food.
Lived up to the reputation. Definitely best lobster roll I have tried so far in Halifax. Just a bit inconvenient to get there with the ferry but definitely worth it! Food
Next to the Ferry Terminal in Dartmouth, definitely make your way there if you can. Lightly coated fish cooked to perfection. Fresh cut fries and, because its a must for F&C, Malt vinegar. The spinach salad was fresh with a good variety of other bits like onion, tomato, pepper, cucumber and a nice balsamic.
Had a snack was great just the right amount for what I was looking for
Two visits. Both times I had fish n chips. Sadly both times my fries were bits and pieces overcooked. My fish the same.. your tartar sauce saved it. Not a fussy eater Local eater that appreciates good fish. I know good fries. Wheelchair accessibility: Full accessibility
We really enjoyed the lobster roll and seafood chowder. Dont discount this place because its located in a food court. The food is delicious and more affordable than other places. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience Halifax food. Theres a good view of the harbor so its very relaxing.
Very good food! I like their fish and chips and the service was very good, fast
The best gluten dairy free fish & chips. You have to call ahead to get it but it is worth it Dietary restrictions: Gluten & dairy free
Frys tasting great, didnt get a full fry in the whole takeout ? 3 piece fish with single order worth of frys ??
Had lobster roll, was great!
Great fish and chips and lobster rolls. We ordered the 10 piece and took half of it home since the portion size was quite big. The atmosphere is open seating in a food court but there is plenty of seating outside with nice views, weather permitting. Wheelchair accessibility: Flat access into the building
Friendly staff. Very efficient. I like their seafood.
Seating for dining in minimal but due to market being very busy, great for business owners, and entertainment. Looking forward to going again and enjoying their gluten free fish and salad
Everything was great. My only complaint is the portions are small for the price. My go to place is fries and co. One piece of fish at fries and co is the same size as two at Evans. Thanks
Some of the staff need to be more pleasant when serving customers.
The lobster roll was delicious, but quite small given the price. The seafood chowder tasted great but had the texture of water. Good food but expensive for the serving size. Trying times
Great Prices Awesome Location Excellent Selection and Service!!!
My favourite Lobster Roll in the Halifax area. I love to take the ferry across the harbour to get a lobster roll and a cold draught from Evan s.
Trout Burger was delicious: nice juicy, flavourful and very generous portion of trout. Nicely done with thinly sliced cucumber and onion. Perfect amount of light sauce. Perfection on a bun!
Delicious. Very good beer, I tried one that was recommended to me at 6.9% alcohol. The fish is very fresh, well fried, crispy on the outside. Good potatoes, onion rings too. The portion is very sufficient. I will return.
The lobster rolls at this seafood restaurant are simply the best I ve ever had! Fresh lobster meat paired with soft bread, every bite is a treat. The service is also very thoughtful and the environment is clean and comfortable. Highly recommended to anyone who loves seafood!
So disappointed. Read about this place on Reddit as a must-try so made a point to come to Dartmouth to try it. Had the platter for 1 and my dining companion had popcorn shrimp on April 21 2024. Everything was 1) cold 2) no flavour 3) the clams were rubbery (and yes I have had clams before, but they were properly cooked). Sad that I used my one dinner in Halifax there.
The man staff is super rude.
Fries are out of this world.
We got food posinig after eating from there We had sea food plater from there Food
Great food with great service; best lobster rolls; located in a small indoor mall with paid parking nearby; seating area is small and very basic.
Being gluten free is not easy for the lovers of fish and chips - Evan s seafood delivered with satisfying my wife s craving for fish and chips. Definitely recommend whether your gf or not!
For two people we ordered 2 lobster rolls, 2 large soups and 6 oysters. Our check came out for $120. The food is delicious and fresh. A little expensive, but worth it. I love seafood very much, so I will come again
Stall in the ferry terminal (cash only), service is great with the kids working there. Food is alright. Fish and chips was a really small piece of fish but it was good. Lobster roll was so mayo heavy, sickly so. Could barely taste the lobster.
The one
The spot is quaintly located inside the Alderney Landing Terminal. The staff was super friendly. Food was subpar. Though I could definitely taste the freshness of the seafood it lacked flavour. I ordered the spicy fish and my partner ordered the chowder. The chowder needed to be enhanced with lots of salt and pepper , and I found it was rather loose compared to other east coast chowders. Overall the food was pretty meh. Best part of the experience was the location.
Best spot in HRM, if not Canada, for gluten free fish and chips
Fantastic place to grab lunch and watch the world go by. Right on the waterfront with huge windows. Also 10/10 for anyone with celiac concerns as Evans tailor their menu towards GF options and the staff knowledge of GF is amazing!
Fantastic food, food court style seating, takeout too
Hands down the best lobster roll Ive ever had.
If I could give it a zero I would.Today I purchased 2 lobster rolls and a ceazer salad 69.00. I expected great lobster for that price, not even close. I have been eating lobster for 67 years and I can say this was the absolute worst lobster I have ever tasted. Totally tasteless to the point all you could taste was the seasoning. I actually threw half of it out. This is the first time I have ever commented negatively on any food and am sorry I had to.
cheap and yummy
Located inside Alderney landing.
GF Fish and Chips for the win! We have been going here for a year now, and they have really good food here. Their homemade tarter sauce is to die for. I have always ordered a couple hours ahead to pick it up on my way home, and its always been ready on time. The service has always been great there. They have plenty of seating inside to enjoy your food, but it is in a high traffic area which can be a little annoying. Dietary restrictions: GF Parking: Only a very small section is free parking. The whole lot is paid parking via the app. Wheelchair accessibility: Flat entrance with 2 big double doors.
Foods are fresh and so good. Staffs are really nice
I had the one piece fish with onion rings. The honey mustard that came with the onion rings was amazing, kinda of hid the fact that the onion rings were overcooked a lot, but besides that everything was delicious and I would definitely go there again.
Excellent fish monger very fresh and prices reflect it.
All good until the panhandler came in and approached everytable, every customer and asked for money. Wait staff acted like nothing was happening, said that person comes in all the time.
I support this place. I had the lobster roll but I was disappointed that it had onions in it which overpowered the lobster. I googled recipes and none had onion in them. I had had the roll 2 years ago and I dont remember it having onions then. I know this is a good place so I am writing this review to say please NO ONION in the lobster roll. A little fresh chives is fine.
Excellent lobster roll and friendly service. Recommended!
Its been a while but I think that its probably still good
Came in on a Saturday for lunch, first time trying lobster poutine. Amazing! The lobster sandwich was also incredible.
The service was great but pricing was insane for mussels that were pretty plain and not a very large portion, as most of the mussels were very small. They tasted just like mussels with green onion thrown over top of them. Haddock pieces and fries were excellent and the tartar sauce was to die for. Popcorn shrimp wasnt seasoned, just lightly breaded, not bad, pricey. If you love unseasoned, no muss no fuss seafood, this is a great spot! Chocolate chip banana bread was great!
Excellent fish and chips, wonderful service!
Great place! I had the jambalaya and it was absolutely delicious! Wonderful service!
In general, Im not a fan of lobster rolls , theyre too expensive and served cold. Today though we wanted a lobster roll. We did the classic Google search for a good lobster roll in our area and Evans came up. Lo and behold its served warm on a toasted bun with a little extra spice perhaps on the meat. Very tasty! Highly recommend. Still more expensive than most in an expensive market. We ordered ours to go versus eating at the little open noisy food court area. We look forward to visiting in summer on their patio.
Amazing lobster roll stuffed with fresh lobster and best cauliflower taco I have ever had! Amazing, nice hardworking, happy staff! Love the large area with tables inside and out now too! Wheelchair accessibility: Was able to get wheelchair parking right outside your doors and washroom right there too!
Theres a small patio you can eat on too!
Had a nice visit with Joline and came back for dinner. Lots of GF selections and great flavours. Highlight was the Lobster Poutine!
I came here a few years ago, the cashier was kinda rude but the food was amazing... maybe it was a long day for them.
Really good fish and chips
Expensive for what it is. Probably paying for the location. Won t come back but it s my personal choice obviously.
Amazing lobster roll and fish burger. But the seafood chowder was in a league of its own. So much seafood add the mussels! Service was amazing. We did take out and enjoyed it at the Beer Garden next door. Great vibes and views.
We were in Dartmouth last weekend and we ate there twice. That s how good their food is. We had the best fish and chips we ever had. The outside patio is nice and employees are very friendly. It is affordable as well.
You will not be disappointed in any selection on the menu. Also the spot to pick up your fresh fish . A very good selection
Great little spot to grab some food and eat next to the water and watch the ferry come and go! Friendly staff as well were very helpful and took pride in their business!
First the table was dirty second, we asked twice to have it cleaned third there were no mussels in the jambalaya, and we were not informed as such when we purchased made a substitution without consent three extra scallops sat under the warmer forever had to go up and ask for them And lastly, lemon cake purchased had to ask at the counter for that too and I guess lastly, the counter attendant looked like he would sooner be anywhere else, but there and his service matched his demeanour. That was easy.
Fantastic seafood. Gluten, egg and dairy free options available. Friendly service. Food is worth a short wait.
I travelled to the Maritimes with a friend. We stopped at Evan s for a meal the day we arrived. I had the seafood platter and my friend had the lobster roll. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. We decided to stop again for lunch on our last day. The table (only one available) needed cleaning. We had to ask twice to have that done. My friend ordered gluten free fish tacos, basically a taco with lettuce substituting for the shell. One little piece of lettuce held each taco together, so it was extremely messy. I had the jambalaya. It was supposed to come with chicken, shrimp, sausage, and mussels. When it finally arrived, there were no mussels in the dinner, but four prawns instead. I don t really like prawns, so I went back to ask what was going on. It was only then that they told me that they were out of mussels. Had I known when I placed the order, I would have chosen something else. They offered to substitute scallops instead. I said yes, but it took forever. I went back to the counter, and spotted a dish of scallops on the warming tray. Who knows how long they had been sitting there, but I finally got them. We had also ordered and paid for a piece of lemon cake but it didn t arrive with the rest of the meal. I had to once again return to the counter to get it. The staff member (according to the website, he is the manager) looked less than thrilled to be there that day. He hadn t been there the first time we were there. Probably a good thing because if we had experienced his unwelcoming attitude the first time, we would not have returned.
Best lobster rolls I had in Halifax so far
I ve been to Evan s twice now and ordered their seafood platter, lobster roll and oyster. Both times have been great. The lobster roll is pack full of lobster and the seafood platter is well fried and filled. It s a lot of food for a great price. I m always a fan of east coast oysters and it comes super fresh. The staff is accommodating!
Fish and chips are great he fries are really best ! And the dish is awesome Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access to t Stores and services.
Lobster roll, lobster roll, lobster roll! I m a huge fan of lobster rolls, and coming from Toronto, I knew I had to try one. I got there right when it opened and it was awesome. Normally, lobster rolls come cold but this one was actually warm - which is something I ve been wanting for a while. Ambiance: N/A - it s more of a takeout spot/food court. So it s nothing special, but it was nice with the pop up vendors/market there selling stuff. Food: 4/5 - I loved it and would definitely come back again. Like I said, it was warm, soft and buttery. Really enjoyed it. Service: 4/5 - Friendly individual who took my order! Overall: 4/5, highly recommended!
Amazing friendly, family atmosphere, great food, great staff. Love the fish and garden salad, and the fish cakes
Yummy coastal eafood platter w prawns for one!
I had the lobster poutine and coming from QC it was low-key disappointing. It wasnt salty enough and the cheese barely came through under all of that white sauce. If youre going to put some cheese in there it should probably be asiago, parmesan or something (alongside curds) so that it stands out. The lobster was ok, its just that the chunks were too small and it was hard to taste under all that sauce.
Very friendly and efficient servixe. Excellent value for money. Had the jambalaya - it was excellent.
Delicious lobster roll ($25 ) and chowder! The order took about 20 mins to receive but both dishes were worth the wait. PS the Indian food stall opposite Evan s has incredible food and is worth visiting. Food
This place is so good that I forgot to take a picture lol. The chowder was the best chowder Ive had so far and the poutine was really good.
We had a lobster roll, very tasty. Short waiting time, ideal to bridge the waiting time for the ferry.
Food was good but needs better seating
Amazing see food. If we come back to Halifax we definitely are coming back. We got for a family the 1 person platter, 12 oyster, the lobster roll and the clam chowder soup. Allllll Good, friendly staff, great service in term of helping selecting our lunch. Thank you Food : 5/5
Someone on the ferry recommended this to us on the way over. It was excellent!! The staff was so pleasant and the food was great. Great experience
The chefs are awesome there. Love them
Had a delightful experience at Evans Seafood! The fish and chips were incredibly delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The quality of the seafood was top-notch, and the service was excellent. A must-try for seafood enthusiasts!
Amazing experience! Top customer service and delicious super fresh food! Super! Food
Bold statement - The Best lobster rolls in the HRM are here. They are also huge. Fish and chips are very good too.
Seafood lasagna was awesome.
OMG that was good!!!.
Evan s is a great spot for affordable, fresh seafood. Lots of gluten-free options and celiac friendly, including the fish & chips.
