We order from here at least twice a week usually, and have spent a massive amount of money in the past couple of years by ordering from here on a regular basis. The inconsistency in serving sizes has gotten drastically worse in the last couple of months, between the same items within an order, and a large variation from day to day, which is not acceptable for a reputable business whatsoever. I have started in the past month, using a food scale to weigh the items in each order, as soon as I take the items from the bags. There is a MASSIVE difference in the servings. Tonight our order was placed over the phone and picked up, instead of ordering through a delivery app, and it is BY FAR the smallest servings we've ever gotten. We both ordered the same thing and one container has far less than the other, and they are both LESS than half full containers either way. They used to have full containers, not half full or less. I'm not sure why they seem to have no weighing system or other way to ensure consistent serving sizes, but that is not acceptable. Unsure if this is a cook issue, or a management issue, but either way it is horrible business practice. Their spring rolls are also becoming insanely greasy compared to previously, so I'm unsure if it's a new cook or cooks. There are multiple comments from the last year saying the same with inconsistent serving sizes, so clearly they do not care to fix their issues. I've attached photos of the items on the food scale, and both containers together on the scale (which both together still weigh LESS than what ONE of their usual full containers of a correct serving size weighs). The inconsistency is appalling, and the food being good is not making up for that huge inconsistency.
Phenomenal food, fast, courteous service. My favs are the chicken coconut soup & the deep fried spring rolls. Fills me for the rest of the day! Just noisy over the lunch hour rush
Went at lunchtime on a Friday to grab some food, we got in at 12:07, ordered immediately and food was served to us by 12:11. We ate, paid our bill and we were done and out by 12:25. Fast, kind and efficient service. What else can you ask for? I will happily be back!!
Had dinner Sunday long weekend, the place was emptied, we were doubtful at first but we were pleasantly surprised with the service, the food was served quickly, was hot and made fresh in front of you. The portions were generous and extremely tasty and delicious. Would good back in a heart beat!! A must!!!!
Nice clean cosy restaurant ,delicieus food ,more then enough and a very good price.Clean washrooms and quick service ftom a nice waitress .They serve also alcohol beverages.
Great lunch menu options and good portions. The wait staff was attentive and the food arrived quickly 🏃💨 The decore is cute too. With the acoustics it'd be a great spot for a date or family outing.

Horrible! They make a mistake on your takeout order and make you return it with no compensation at all other than money back! I had to drive the food back and then leave with no food! I will not support a business who takes NO ownership of their fault and inconveniences their customers!

The short Asian woman at the front desk had a completely different attitude towards me than the white man at the back. Hope you get your green card soon. The food tasted OK but the portions were too small, half the takeaway box was empty
Weve been here a several times, and most recently yesterday. It never disappoints. Always clean and very friendly and great staff. Food is very fresh,ade to order and quick. We often order green Thai curry, a dish many options to choose from with the cashew sauce, and also the veggies in oyster sauce are all wonderful. I highly recommend it.

We always enjoy Cha Baa Thai. The flavours are delicious, and presentation is always very nice. Service is friendly and very quick. Food is also served quickly. Unfortunately, today our dishes were lukewarm, with some of the chicken even being cold! We were a little disappointed even though the flavours were still wonderful. We felt that they may be taking shortcuts to get the food out quickly, which may be leading to them just re-heating pre-cooked foods at times. We certainly wouldnt mind waiting a few minutes longer for a piping hot meal.

Our new favourite Thai place! Since moving back to NS we have tried to find a great Thai place that was not food court level. This is the place! Everything we ve tried so far (been there twice now) has been delicious. Service is great. If you like Thai food go!

Food is as good as ever. I have not been disappointed each time. But the waitress should improve the service quality. We raised our hands for 3 minutes to ask for the checkout, but no one paid attention to us. Then I walked to the counter and saw the waitress looking at her phone.

The best Massaman Curry and Black Pepper Beef Ive had! Always excellent and prompt with service, polite and professional . Takeaway is usually about 15 minutes, so if youre ordering for lunch in Burnside, call ahead and they have it ready at the counter still piping hot. The food is excellent, no matter what you get. Its hard to try something new on the menu, because everything is SO good that you want one of everything! Definitely recommend. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available, and likely just as tasty! Parking: Parking is out front (this restaurant is in a strip mall) and there are ramps up onto the sidewalk for wheelchair access. Absolutely love your restaurant but must say was totally disappointed that you changed the menu and took both the Thai noodle soup and the curry noodle soup off the menu. The two things I go there for all the time.
They raised the price of the lunch special by 25% from $12 to $15. This is no longer a special . Inflation is a thing but it s not 25%. No excuse for this.
Faith has been restored, had a great meal there on the werkend Normally I give this place a 5 star but a few weeks back on a Saturday evening we got the pad thai and a chicken dish and both were missing flavour and possibly an ingredient. If I have another experience like that we will not be getting food there anymore. It was takeout, therefore unable to provide feedback at the time the food was provided. Should have commented earlier. I am sure they were just a little off that night and next time will be 5 star

Excellent thai food restaurant. I get take-out here for supper regularily and dine-in for lunch occasionally. It is one of my favourite restaurants in Dartmouth. The food is consistently delicious and everyone is friendly. Service is always good when I eat-in. Parking: Large parking lot. Always easy to find parking.

Tried their chicken pad thai, and to be honest I wasnt expecting much. But I was super pleasantly surprised. If youre expecting bright orange canadianized pad thai thats not what youll get. What you will get, however, is a delicious and well balanced pad thai served in a portion good enough for two people. I would also recommend their thai iced tea. Its also not the milky kind, but is the sweet and sour kind that is super fresh and just what I needed after a long flight. Would 10/10 come back to try their other menu items!

Some of the best Pad Thai in HRM. Anytime Im up in this side of the city I always make an effort to stop by Cha Baa Thai. The store is always clean and tidy. The staff are always friendly, quick and prompt. The food is always incredible! Cant say enough good things. Love this spot
This was a great surprise find while traveling through the area with the family. The food was absolutely delicious. The portions were huge. I can not wait to come back.

Truly atrocious. Most importantly - this is not a Thai restaurant; its a Chinese restaurant. I recently ordered a take out dinner for two. One meal was completely inedible and the other was just plain bad. I made the mistake of ordering spring rolls and instead of nice crispy Thai rolls I got four soggy, greasy stomach turners. We threw the entire order in the trash and got by on crackers and cheese from a vending machine. Youre better off at McDonalds.

Initially they messed up our order and gave us all spicy when one was not. But they fixed it in less than 5 minutes and we all loved it! Super delicious and rich food. Great customer service.

Among if not the best Thai food in the city (although I cant say for sure Ive tried everywhere). Consistent, delicious, fair priced, super quick for pickup and convenient location (for me anyway, I dont know where you live, geeze get off my case). Lunch special is an excellent deal. My girlfriend and I order from her very regularly and I can honestly say it s consistently the best pad Thai in Halifax. They always follow even the pickiest of instructions and will give you big spice if you ask for it.
Very often I get their hot & sour soup, and spring rolls. Always great.
Use to go there all the time but went today for pick up and portion are now 1/2 the size and the pad Thai was watery, same price as before... Use to be my favorite place for pad Thai. Not sure what happened there?

I like Thai food.Actually, I love it! I lived in Asia for 5 years! If what I got from here today was my first experience, I would assume for the rest of my life that I didnt like Thai food. It used to be good here. Im not sure what happened.

Every time were in Dartmouth we get food from here it s always fresh and delicious. It is the best Thai food around, can you get it within minutes. The staff is friendly and the place is clean clean clean. Highly recommended going there. It is very close to Dartmouth Crossing we re all the big box stores are. Always very fast and tasty, Cha Baa Thai generally being one of the best Thai restaurants in the HRM. This Dartmouth location is very convenient as a Dartmouth resident.
We saw the good reviews on google and decided to give it a try. There was a long black hair embedded in our Pad Thai which was very concerning, and waitress took the hair back to show the chef in the kitchen so we could exchange the dish to a new plate. Tom Yum soup was mediocre, and the ginger beef is a bit too salty. We paid the full price of all dishes plus tips, however we will not be going back.
Grabbed a quick lunch here while in the business park for meetings. They make a delicious chicken pad thai! I wish I worked closer and could eat here more often.

This is more of a lunch spot for the people who work in the area. I found the atmosphere very industrial. It was quite loud on a Saturday afternoon but only 4 tables being used. The food was great, service was wonderful. Covid measures taked responsible. My only critique was that they didnt have dessert at this location. Very Disappointing.
Delicious, authentic Thai food with multiple locations in HRM. Dont let the industrial park exterior fool you. Inside is a cozy, clean, inviting restaurant and the menu is extensive. My recommendation here is the Massaman Curry Chicken.

Every time we go to Halifax, we try to coordinate a meal at Cha Baa Thai in Bedford. This visit, our hotel was 5 minutes from this location so we thought we would give it a try. Its located in an industrial type area, so we werent sure what it would be like. To our surprise, it was even better than Bedford. Extremely quick and courteous, and excellent food. Well be back for sure.

My wife and I just love this restaurant. Eat in and the food is pipping hot and delicious. Hi out of your comfort zone and try the tofu. Its amazing! Pineapple fried rice is my favorite, comes served in a half a grilled pineapple. Best Thai food in Nova Scotia hands down!
I ordered the red curry (chicken) lunch special and my husband ordered the panang beef lunch special. It was absolutely delicious! Everything was hot & fresh. We were served very quickly and the wait staff was excellent! 10/10 would recommend!

We ordered family style and shared several dishes together to experience a bit of everything. Everything was very tasty. Portions were generous. Excellent Pad Thai with little crispy bits of tofu and chicken, delicious Ginger Chicken with vegetables and nice and spicy Beef with a Red Curry. A big bowl of Jasmine rice and some chinese beer to help cleanse the palette between bites from the different plates Of course it was just the two of us so we have about 50lbs of leftovers. I see no problem with that...
Amazing Thai food! Super fresh ingredients, fast service and so much flavour! I would reccomend their Pad Thai and their spring rolls any day! They are super friendly and very helpful if youre not familiar with their dishes they will walk you through flavour profiles and help you make a perfect choice. They have some kid feiendly options as well. They will explain how soicu something is and offer you a range in heat profile. I really enjoy the brown rice tea. Its comforting and naturally sweet but not too sweet which is great. They serve alcoholic beverages as well. Their pick-up service is someof the fastest service Ive seen in this city. I would recommend this restaurant for a quick bite to eat or a place to share a meal with a large or small group of people.

My girlfriend and I are frequent customers of Cha Baa Thai but I was really unimpressed by the customer service this evening at the Dartmouth location. They sent our meal with another customer, didnt offer a discount for the inconvenience while we waited for the other customer to return with our meal. After handing me the returned food and seeing I was visibly unimpressed, they finally offered to cook fresh food after making me wait for the return. Once we got home, we also found that they gave my girlfriend the wrong order of black pepper chicken instead of ginger chicken. When I called to complain they asked me to send a picture of my order since ginger chicken and black pepper chicken taste the same but look different and they would know the difference while we might not. I just dont know what to say. Great food, horrible customer service. Probably lost our business at least for this location.
