I ordered the seafood rice and pad thai prawn noodles. The seafood rice was quite good but not exactly my style (squid and mussels had an odd taste but the rice itself and veggies were great). The pad thai was a absolutely fantastic. I paid about 30 after tax before tip, and the value for food was good. It was very filling and I had lots of leftovers. Staff was also wonderful!

Could live off the beef Masaman curry. It s too good.

This place has to have the best cashew tofu Ive ever had in my life. Hands down. Try this Thai!

Amazing food. Although the Dartmouth location has horrible ambience for dine in. So take your meal/s home. The only real complaint I have for this location is their hours of business. It opens too late in the day and closes far too early :( Please talay thai - think of trying to make your open hours longer.

I especially liked the lunch menu s #3, chicken with red curry sauce. Service is excellent, food is cooked in high heat and served fresh and hot. I liked their sticky mango rice as well. This is my go-to place near my home for Thai food cravings! Highly recommended!

I normally get the red curry noodle soup. I ordered the Thai soup but it wasnt the red curry soup. My bad should have looked at the menu closer. Our waiter( a guy) was OK. Not overly helpful or friendly.

Came for lunch today had Thai noodle soup with chicken made spicy. Saddest excuse for soup I ve ever had. This is my favourite soup and order it every single time. The broth was clear watery looking. Not a bit of color. I asked for some chili order to try an fix it up to no avail. When I told the waiter this when he asked how the food was I told him and his reply was ya I figured that was gonna happen . I literally told him not to serve that to people. Will say I enjoyed the spring rolls and my friends pad Thai and fresh rolls were delicious thankfully because he still charged me for that sad excuse for soup.

Second time we have ordered takeout from here. In short, mediocre at best. But, OK in a pinch. Better options nearby.

My boyfriend and I tried this place yesterday for the first time as he loves his Thai food and I must say the presentation, the food and the service was wonderful. I usually dont go out for Thai but I ordered the sweet and sour chicken and my boyfriend had the red curry chicken and a side of spring rolls. Food was served piping hot and in a large portion, not to mention great prices. The spring rolls were some of the best Ive had. Highly recommend this place for good pricing and quality food and service, thanks again will definitely be returning in the future.

Great little restaurant. Michael our server couldnt have been more attentive. The cashew chicken is superb as is the chicken satay with peanut sauce. I wish they would bring bring back the Thai Tea...I so miss it.

Love the food. Ive only have done takeout, so the service ive sewn has been on phone and front desk and very polite wokers. I cant go long without their pad tai dishes. Cost is great for what you get.

Their massaman curry is my favorite dish! Beef or chicken is my favorite. Unbeatable pad thai, for the places I have tried. I either get prawn or chicken. Food is hot with fresh ingredients. Some say they are dissapointed about portion sizes, but it all grows on the plate. Never leave hungry, and the lychee ice cream was delicious!! This continues to be a favorite place to go. Garlic Shrimp is an intense garlic experience. Its sooo delicious. We had it with beef, but prefer the prawns the most. Sweet and sour ribs were a recent discovery, love those too! I cant say myself or anyone I brought here has been disappointed.

Always delicious! You can ask for spicy or mild even if it shows one or the other. My faves are the coconut soup or basil chicken!!!

I have only ever had delivery/pickup from this location so I can t speak to the dining in experience. The food is awesome, always fresh and super high quality. They always have it ready quickly, and the pickup is always simple speedy.

Great food, friendly staff. They dont deliver but when I was there at 6 pm on a Friday in Dartmouth, there was a steady stream of people picking up. We ordered Pad Thai and Ginger Vegetable and there was enough for 2 meals for us.

Before this, I would have said it would be impossible for me to dislike a Thai restaurant. But this was just really bad. Not many veggies, and the meats just tasted odd, in a bad way. We didn t finish our meals. No second chance for this one.

Excellent portion sizes and delicious food. We ordered 5 different dishes and each one was full of flavor. The curry had an excellent ratio of protein to vegetables. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and order again.

Used to be good! Last 2 orders were bad, will not go back. Ordered several dishes and all were bland and the pad thai was nothing more than a lot dry rice noodles.

The food is amazing! But I have learned through the grape vine that any tips you give them through the debit machine goes to the owners and not the waiters. This is the most uncool thing I have heard of. I already paired the owners for the food! They don t need a tip! So I urge you to tip your waiters and waitresses in cash so it goes to the hard working staff and not the owners.

Food was cold and terrible. It felt like they had the air conditioning on. We shook the whole time freezing. My son took one bite and couldnt eat anymore because it was terrible and they charged me anyway. Service was poor. Happy Valentines to us

Terrific Thai food in Dartmouth. We love Taley Thai for eat in and take out. The food is consistently good, take out orders are fast and the service is excellent.

Fast and friendly service with great food! Had the massaman chicken curry and it was a good size portion, fresh rolls and the others had mango salad and veg cashew with rice. Will be returning soon.

Have been here dozens of times and have never had a bad experience. Our family s favourites are cashew chicken, Penang curry, and pad Thai. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys flavourful dishes and friendly service.

Had the chicken Pad Thai and it was absolutley disgusting. It smelled like wet dog, the sauce tasted nasty and the Tofu was that of a soggy cruton... Will never be back $13 for that terrible dish unbelieveable, I knew I shoulda stuck to mulligan Casserole.

First visit here. This is, for my money, the best Thai food to be had in HRM. The portions are both very generous and reasonably priced. Im not going to bother going to any of the other restaurants again after tonights meal.

Ive been a long time patron of another well known Thai restaurant chain in the city for many years. I had the opportunity to try Talay Thai for the first time just recently. I was absolutely blown away by the food!! Generous portions and probably a little bit better overall than that other Thai restaurant. Staff were friendly and the service was fast. I will definitely be back!!!

Other than Italian my favorite food. So yummy.

Very good meal. We went early evening and had very fast service. Pepper steak stir Fry was very good, but the winner was the Pad Thai. Very well seasoned and the portion was more than generous. Lots left for lunch the next day!

Best pad thai ever

The food was only ok. I had the chicken red curry and the chicken tasted fishy which to me would mean it was either reheated or microwaved. Not a lot of vegetables in it. But the curry sauce was delicious.

Not a very big restaurant, but staff was friendly, the food was excellent and reasonably priced. A lot of people going through for take out as well.

This is our go to restaurant when in Dartmouth. We will drive all the way to this restaurant because the food here is so fantastic. They do a lot of take out business as well, with customers streaming in to pick up their food every minute. The restaurant itself is quiet and lovely. Usually it is only half full of people when we are here but they obviously make up for it in the take out orders. Seems this local neighborhood already knows the secret of this place. I usually order something like the ginger vegetable mix with steamed rice, and coconut soup. Friends and husband frequently order the chicken, several different ways. None of us have ever had anything less than impressive, and we always leave satisfied.

I will be honest I was expecting the food to be a little better where I have been to other Thai restaurants and they were great, it was good but nothing special. The Prawn Pad Thai I had lacked flavor diversity and a poor portion of meat and veggies. We dined in and our waiter was very kind and served us reasonably quickly. There were no other guests however they do get a lot of take out calls.

Spring rolls from a box, very dry rice, very disappointed. Not authentic, not palatable. 0 stars not an option

I love this restaurant. If I could live off if their chicken massaman curry and jasmine rice, I would. Their spring rolls are crisp and light and the restaurant is so cute.

After reading all the positive reviews, I had to try this place. We ordered the spring rolls and fish cakes as an appetizer. They were ok, nothing special. I followed up with ordering a pad thai and asked for a bit more heat. My first impression of the dish was like wow they hardly put any veggies. Im like ok whatever, a lot of lower class restaurants load up on noodles or rice, Im used to that. Its not pleasant but not a deal breaker. From the first few bites all I could taste is a mouth full of sugar. I mentioned this to the waitress and she told me thats hows it supposed to taste. Now ive had pad thai from countless restaurants and this was the worst ive ever had. Most restaurants offer to redo your dish, they just kinda looked at me in disgust. The owner (or manager) behind the counter mentioned that she heard i didnt like the dish. I said no sorry it was gross, yet another digusted look and then just rang in the price for our food. The whole experience wasnt terrible, only the pad thai which made me sick to stomache and made me lose my appetite.

When I first try a new Thai restaurant I typically order one of their signature dishes, a red/green/yellow or masaman curry. In this case, unlike other places in HRM, it does taste like Thai food and not like thai-ified chinese food, which is good. Not great, but acceptable. As long as you have it vegetarian or with chicken. But the beef, my god, is only slightly above canine quality. Stringy and chewy. Unfortunately, this is not the only Thai place in HRM where this has happened to me, and repeatedly so it wasnt a one-time thing. My impression is they try to get away with the cheapest meat they can find because its in a curry sauce and well done so people wont notice. Well, if anybody from the restaurant reads this, a tip: Try to shoot for middle-of-the-road beef, people will notice the difference!

Im a big fan of Talay Thais restaurant in Halifax and it is a frequent lunch spot for people at my work. I went to their newer Dartmouth location not long ago. The food was on par with the Halifax location (which is excellent). Would highly recommend for Dark-siders. Edit: Ive been trying Thai more often, and Ive come to realize that Talay Thai is the best.
