Best Fish Pakora ever and butter chicken ever...real spices...been coming here since they opened ...you can taste the love in their food...amazing family....who ever complains has no idea about food with amazing flavor or they get paid by the competition shame on you🤔 😋 Love you Connaught family xoxo 😘
We ordered Dal Maharani (Spice level hot) with Naans and Rotis, and it was really amazing. We got a really good portion of Dal (3 of us ate 2 rotis and 2 naans with it), which was surprising these days, but this is the first time I felt authenticity of Punjabi foods in BC. Also, the naans were so soft and not flaky like most of the restaurants these days. It definitely gave a vibe that they care about the food they serve, and I am definitely going to try out other items on their menu.
It was very good. The Dal was perfect, exactly what I was craving and as good as anywhere. I also got Tandoori Chicken which was very good as well. The Naan was very good. Very flavorful and delicious. The rice was good too.
We ordered. The food came way too spicy. They replaced it with something less than cooked. The service was terrible. Big mistake . This is my first negative review ever.
Awesome food, we've been coming to Connaught for about 20 years now. Lovely husband and wife team running it. One of our friends we introduced to this restaurant, an Indian food connoisseur, stated it to be the best she's ever had. Please support our local people.
Oh I so wanted this to be good. But I got three dishes and somehow there is *negative* flavor??? I’ve never had curry like this. All grease, no flavor whatsoever. Like none. I also worry a bit about the freshness! Never wasted $80 like this before. Update: I truly can’t get over how bad this is. Worst takeout ive ever had in my life. Like dirty dishwater. Wish I could get my money back as I’m trashing everything.
The mission of Connaught Place is simple: serve delicious, affordable food that guests will want to return to week after week. Mission accomplished. I live in Seattle, so I'm a couple of hours away. But if I could, I would return week after week, and perhaps even day after day. Because coming to Connaught Place is like coming home, even if I'm not Indian. After a long day of traveling from Salt Spring Island, we needed a quiet dinner to restore ourselves. I chose Connaught Place from the many positive reviews. We found the unassuming eatery tucked behind an office building and peered in the windows to see it empty. With trepidation, we approached the door just as a young woman was pulling up to pick up take out. I asked her how the food was and without hesitating, her face lit up and she said, "Oh my god, it's delicious! Plus, it's family owned and I love to support small business." Enough said. We slid into a booth and was greeted by the lovely Satbir. She helped us (Indian-food novices), decide what to order based on our input: samosas, naan and lamb korma. She could tell we needed a little pick-me-up and kindly brought us papadum (a crispy wafer-like bread) with mango chutney. The samosas were hot and tasty, however, the star of the table was the lamb korma. With generous chunks of tender lamb in a rich and creamy sauce, it was the stuff my dreams are made of. Accompanied by a hearty serving of rice, it was plenty for my husband and me. Even after we were satisfied, we kept on heaping food on our plate because we didn't want to miss out on one more bite. While chatting with Satbir, we mentioned that it was our anniversary and she surprised us with scoops of mango ice cream! Just the thing to top off a memorable meal. We were definitely happy diners. Throughout the evening, many people came and went from Connaught Place to pick up their to-go orders. But I suggest dining in the relaxing space because not only is the food superb, but Satbir is a delight, and an integral part of a wonderful experience. Oh, and you might want to order more than one main dish because you'll definitely want leftovers.
Worst Indian food. Uncooked naan! And no matter what you order it’s the same thing just a tweak of different frozen sauce. I went there I was told it was Punjabi and I did confirm with the owner. I would say avoid this place or at least verify yr food. It was $60 waste and so the food ! Pleas don’t do this, the owner !
Satbir was a great lady
I really love the service. Very good taste. Vanshika is the best.
Great food and friendly service from a family owned small business.
This restaurant should be a lot busier than it is. The food is incredible
Sir can I get delivery jobs I can speak English hindi ,Arabic ,and kerala language also . I M from kerala
Love this place! Great food and great people. Butter chicken ,chilli chicken and palak panner are our favourites.
Delicious Vegetarian options: Delicious Food : 5/5 |
Super awesome curry place with truly authentic home cooked tasting dishes super high quality and the service is great definitely would recommend. Vegetarian options: Well done
It wasnt on the menu but they served us shahi paneer on request. It was tasty. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian food. Food : 4/5 |
The food is amazing and it is currently open although the website says temporary closed make sure you go check it out
I absolutely love this restaurant!! The food is great and customer service is excellent! Ps: It says temporarily closed but its open
OPEN! Connaught is open. great food and wonderful service
Love the ambience and food.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there. They could freshen up the dining room a bit with new upholstery but it doesnt take away the taste of this little gem in Tsawwassen. Ordered a lamb vindaloo which was absolutely delicious. Coupled with their naan, the spices were just perfect. Was going to order the Gao Fish but found it was Basa so we skipped it. Ordered the Tandoori Salmon instead and it wasnt worth it but delicious. Overall was good. Will have to come again.
Very good service and good food
Best Indian authentic food place, Specially the appetizers, it is so good that i can t stop myself from posting this comment and the owner is also so nice and sweet.
Love it! Awesome food, and they re such lovely people. Everything I ve tried has been amazing.
The best Indian food in South Delta. Excellent homemade naan they have a tandoori oven so nice tandoori chicken.
THE place to get Indian in South Delta. The flavours are deep and rich. So satisfying and great portions.
Delicious dishes , friendly fast service. Thank you for being a part of our community.!
Why they don t indicate on their website that their are not open for dine-in and they also don t answer the phone
Absolute best Indian food locally in Tsawwassen. Always consistent and great.
Used to be really good, but now the food often tastes watery.
The food is inconsistent. Ive had it a couple times where it was really good but most of the time is just ok. One time I picked up my food instead of getting delivery and the floors were so sticky my flip flops would come off if I stood in one place for 30 seconds. Its obviously never mopped. Thats pretty gross and makes me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen. Its the best option in Tsawwassen and I havent gotten food poisoning yet, so yay I guess?
I wouldnt recommend it.
Excellent food very very good this is going to be my go-to for Indian food
Recommend
Solid Indian. Good flavours. Naan is A+.
Worst tandoori fish I had in my life , I will give the stars in minus , they should change the name from tandoori dish to oily fish , when I called them to make sure they have given tandoori fish not anything else , the lady was rude and was like we are serving this from last 20 years and was not at all taking the feedback in positive way , I will not suggest anyone to go to this place and they charged $16 for this and making it full with oiled fried onions and capsicum
The best
Nice place ... market is awesome, had unique collection.
The absolute best Indian restaurant I ve ever been too. Flavours and spices are perfect. Great little family run restaurant with great service. Butter chicken and prawn curry is to die for, no other restaurant like this and the staff is very sweet and friendly. Definitely recommend and worth the wait during peak times.
This place is the best. I love their Dania Gosht, but everything else is great too.
Had family drop in unexpectedly for 4 days.. ordered dinner from Connaught Place. Bad mistake!...family doesn t want to leave!!
Cozy location with great food! Definitely will be coming back.
Great food at a great price.
I ve been to many Indian restaurants and none can beat this one. My family has been coming to this restaurant for over ten years now, and I ll never forget the time that my brother and I wanted juice when we were young and they ran to the store to get some. I tend to do takeout more now, but the service is always very friendly, and the portions are very generous. The paneer pakoras and paneer mahkani are absolutely to die for, and they re excellent vegetarian options. This is easily the best restaurant in tsawwassen!
Butter chicken and samosas are my favourite
Very nice food....in Tsawwassen...only food joint to look for Indian food
SOOOOO much better than the other Indian restaurant in town...
Delicious! Vegan and gluten-free options as well!
Amazing food and the people who run it definitely care!!!
Amazing food!! Best Indian I ve had I order 5 days out of 7!! I LOVE ITT
The food has amazing flavour! The owners are extremely kind and inviting.
Very nice family owned restaurant. Love the butter chicken. Came in there just 5 mins before closing one day and the lady still served me. Never felt rushed or unwelcome. Recommend for sure.
Too much masala...
Best in Delta by far. Butter chicken, chicken tikka, and aloo ghobi are all excellent (better than most) as is the naan. Veggie pekora is worth it. Far better quality than Roys in my opinion for Ladner/Tsawwassen and it beats every North Delta/Surrey place as well. Its a good low key place for really good food. If youre looking for glitz, glamour or high price ambience go elsewhere. If you want quality food then give it a try.
Absolutely delicious. A truly unique hidden gem.
Great little place for Indian food. We ordered takeout, the butter chicken and lamb Rogan Josh were very good. The serving quantity was very generous. Highly recommended.
Good food at a hole in the wall
Great hidden old school vibe in Tswassen. Dishes were great butter chicken and fish pakora (which coulda been a few more pieces). Will return to try out other items soon.
A hidden gem, some of the best curry and naan bread you will find in greater Vancouver!
Wonderfully prepared food, friendly service, decent prices and a clean establishment - definitely coming back!
Good authentic , delicious Indian food!
Very Slow service, if you know you get busy, hire more servers. Food was not good as well.
They were so kind, staying open late when our ferry was late so we could pick up our order. And the food was delicious.
Our go to place for Indian food! Very delicious and affordable
The only place to go for Indian Cuisine! I have been all over the lower mainland have never found food like this, every bite is stuffed with amazing flavors and aromas. All day cooking prep with fresh ingredients, rather than heat up and serve!!! Be patient for this is the reason your food doesnt come out within 5 seconds like McDonalds. (Instant gratification) Also the nicest people around, love the hostess/waitresses/ and chefs! Such a great vibe from them and the restaurant! Truly great find!
Delicious Indian food.
Have been dining at Connaught for a couple years now, among my friends and I connaught is without a doubt our favorite place to dine in Tsawwassen. Authentic indian food, a quiet atmosphere, run by a wonderful family, and the food is ALWAYS good, and we ve never left hungry. Never had an issue with food coming out slowly, they are always busy with takeout so if you have to wait a few minutes longer than expected while dining in, don t worry it will be worth it! Once you eat here you will become a regular!
Best Indian food in Tsawwassen
The potato cauliflower dish is fantastic.
Food is really good and owner lady is so affable :)
Hidden gem
Very delicious food. We got to go, and it was very good.
Food is really delicious Testy Awesome I like it .......
A nice family owned Indian restaurant!
Love the samosa
Every dish had its own unique spicing. Best I ve had in BC. A bit hard to find. Go behind all the restaurants on the main road. Worth the search.
I love this place. Great food, great service, great people.
A friend recommended this place and it was excellent. Unique flavour profiles and the staff make you feel right at home. If you love Indian food you will truly appreciate this place.
A quiet family run place with the best food
Difficult to find better Indian cuisine. Take-out is a good choice as the food does take quite a while to be served.
Little hidden treasure. The owners and all the staff are extremely friendly and the food is to die for! I never found the service to be slow, and besides, I go here to enjoy good food, not fast food. Just writing this review makes me hungry for some of this yummy and authentic Indian food. :)
The Butter Chicken is addicting and delicious. The Naan is perfect. Dont even get me started on the fish Pakora, its amazing. Delivery is a little on the slow side but soooo worth the wait lol. All around delicious food and lovely owners and staff!
Delicious and comfortable food.
The best Indian restaurant in the area. I grew up eating Indian food so I have a discerning palate. Aloo ghobi is particularly delightful. Try something other than butter chicken though, you might be pleasantly surprised! They are fairly efficient and very nice. Restaurant for dining in is very cozy and comfortable. Take out is speedy.
The BEST butter chicken you will ever find. Not just in Tsawwassen, but I havent found one as good anywhere else. Ive been coming here for 10 years. Lamb chops, Naan, pakora, etc.. all so delicious!!
Fast and friendly. Great food
Wondering why it took me so long to try Connaught Place, had seen them from the park during lacrosse practices for years. Very friendly and excellent food, will be going back soon...a great place to break the pizza, sushi or Chinese take-out routine.
Best Indian food Ive ever had. Wow. Delivery was super fast, and hot. I wont be able to eat butter chicken anywhere else now!
The service is a bit slow, but the food is awesome and well priced. I will be going back to try different menu items. Be careful on how spicy you order your meal. My wife ordered medium spicy and she found it quite hot. My friend ordered mild and enjoyed it, while I ordered very mild and mine was not hot at all (just the way I like it). I think this might be one of the least expensive dine-in dinners you can get in Tsawwassen.
Great food in a hard to find location.
Our most favorite Indian Food Restaurant - we order take out at least once a week. Great food, well priced, lovely people.
