7800 Alpha Way #102, Delta, BC V4K 3N3, Canada
Nice and relaxed place for food and talk. The taste was great, the service was friendly, good selection if you're in the area.
Edit Oct. 27/23: Return trip on a sunny morning, saw 5-6 planes coming and going. We ordered 2 items to share for “breakfast” …Denver Omelet $19.95 and The Flying Club $18.95. The club was so huge with generous fillings that we took 1/2 home. Comes with fries or salad. Happy to see Tina and Chris again, she’s a riot! Oct. 21/2023: Have heard good things about this restaurant for quite awhile. Stopped in for brunch on our way back from Ladner and so glad we did! Service from Tina and Chris was excellent and quick on a busy Saturday. We ordered Eggs Benedict ($17.95), Crispy Chicken Burger ($18.50). Corned Beef on Rye ($17.50) and a coffee ($4.50). Prices are a little high but the value was in the meals, coffee is still free refills. There is a patio area on the airport taxi side where you can watch small aircraft’s and sometimes helicopters taxi in so seat facing that area. Kids would love it especially on a sunny day! The restaurant is located inside the airport, we asked someone in the free parking area as first-timers we were unfamiliar.
Food was yummy. Waitress was super nice. Clean spacious and great view of the planes Update: went again for mother's Day. It was busy but the service was excellent. Food is yummy and good portions
Friendly service, delicious hot food, decent prices. I've been there multiple times and always enjoy the experience!
This is my second attempt at the Skyhawk. I am firmly of the opinion that for the great cost that it takes to travel out to venues for meals overall (time, travel, fuel, meal, taxes, etc.). So here’s my rating. * Cost and Value Cost seems slightly higher than necessary. When I was young it was a quarter for a coffee and that wasn’t that long ago! $4.25 plus tax for a single, no-refill coffee is outrageous. French toast (on this visit) was a decent size and tasty. But still feels about $3 overpriced. * Customer Service The service here knocks two stars off. Both of my visits the servers were snippy, abrupt and had so little patience that they wouldn’t stand for ten seconds to wait for change or an order to be made. Entirely uncooperative, very surface polite…but eye rolling etc = management needs to immediately give a customer service lesson to most of the staff. The server was totally unwilling to discuss dietary requirements, minor modifications or to check on food allergy concerns. If I was the manager of this place I would have fired the server on the spot. They were all old enough to know better and regardless of the difficulty of the customers they may deal with, in an almost empty place I expected MUCH better decorum. * Enjoyment and Presentation The food was good, and presented decently. I would say there is a strong disconnect on what Canadian culture currently is, as vegetarian options were few and both the “veggie” soups when I went had meat bases! How disconnected from the food industry trends is the cook? Other than the rude server and a lack of options or cooperation, this rating is below average. Still passable if you need to have a filling meal while nearby.
Nice average restaurant, food is ok, pub style. Service was great 👍. The best part about the restaurant was the patio where you can eat and watch the planes come and go, and it's quiet frequent ! Not the best bang for your buck when it comes to the food. However....the fries are amazing ! (Beer seemed flat and my son's chicken strips were way over done) We will go back again.
Always a good place to come to. Has a bit of a diner feel to it in terms of the food. It's good for the whole family. Reservations on the weekend are probably a good idea especially with current covid in-person dinning limitations. It is located right inside Boundary Bay airport so you can sit inside or outside and watch planes and helicopters come and go.
This place was really well staffed. Good food, not too pricy and it seems like a popular breakfast spot but I can't comment on the lunch or dinner fare. Sounds like they have a decent wing Wednesday deal w pints at $5. If you don't live in S.Delta however I'm not sure you'd find the destination to be worth the trip unless you come here for more than the food. Its worth checking-out if you are in the area but very much feels like a restaurant tacked onto the end of a quiet terminal at an airport. It should be noted that the service here was far friendly, fast and attentive compared to what I have received at restaurants in well located venues.
All the good memories at this place since 2016. Will be very sad to see it close by end of Nov. Maybe miracles happen and we ll see it again next year?
Service is fast, lady server is polite but the food is little salty. Vegetarian options: Yes Dietary restrictions: Yes Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Dont know
Very pleasant restaurant. Friendly staff and good food for the price.
It will be sad to see these guys close the business in November.
Friendly staff, Joanne, especially.
Stopped in for bite , Corn beef Sandwich too Salty, paratrooper burger ok, fries & Onion rings delish coffee so, so ,luke warm & weakest to my taste great location & attentive service Parking: @ Boundary Bay Airport stopped b4 walk on Dyke ( beside Kings Links Golf Course)
Great coffee and excellent service thank you
Drive there today. We are regulars probably once per week. They are making a movie and restaurant closed. Management must have known for weeks if not months that they would Close during the making of the Movie. . Didn t tell anyone, no signs etc. complete show of disrespect for their customers soon to be ex!
Really love their eggs benny!
Good place for breakfast and look at the planes
Airport restaurants are the best! This little gem is closing down soon cause its lease isnt being renewed. Get there soon. The service was friendly and efficient even though there were two large groups there. Food was just what youd expect at a diner style restaurant. Had a couple good ol favorites - toasted Denver sandwich (who else dips them in Catsup!) and a patty melt. Fries were great too. It was so fun watching the small planes take off and land.
The waitress asked if our bills were separate and when we answered together she said yeah I figured . That basically sums up the worst service I ve ever experienced . Eye rolling and just general rudeness . Was a solid classic breakfast but will never be back
Excellent restaurant inside the Boundary Bay Airport for breakfast, lunch, snacks, coffee/tea, liquor, and much more! Great service, too
Wonderful food and service. If you like watching Cessna take off and landings then the atmosphere is a 5 too.
I have been eating lunch here for many years, starting with it in the old building. The food is very good at a reasonable price and the service is very good as well. I recommend this restaurant. Parking: Convenient location.
The burger and fries were tasty .
The food is decent and the location is good especially when planes are taking off and landing. Unfortunately, the service takes anything good away. The server we had was miserable from the start. She seemed to want to make everyone as unhappy as she was. She yelled at two children and then proceeded to be abrupt, slam plates on our table and then tried to give us the bill before we were finished. She then vacuumed around us and then kicked us out even though the restaurant was open for another 45 minutes and we werent finished our drinks. Her reasoning was that shed been there since 8 am and was tired. Apparently this is the fault of customers who showed up 2 hours before closing. We will never go back as long as this person is working there.
Best place for a quick bite and lots of outside entertainment. Fun atmosphere with great tasting food!!!
On top of the prices being absurdly high, I ordered a flying club sandwich and the turkey appears to be very undercooked. From what I hear this is a regular occurrence. Some staff are also quite unpleasant a lot of the time.
Super nice place.
Portion for burger Star Trek was great! We didn t even need to ask for a takeout box and a kitchen staff got one for us already. Their coffee is amazing as well. Balanced coffee that s great for drinking black or with add-ons!
Great restaurant
The staff are friendly and efficient, never had an issue. Vegetarian options: Always have the same omelet and it s cooked to perfection! Parking: Lots of it Kid-friendliness: There s lots of open area Wheelchair accessibility: Extremely accessible , one open level
This is a great place to eat and watch airplanes come and go. Food is good, staff is friendly, and prices are a little steep. I do recommend this place
This is a great place to go for good food at a reasonable price. Lots of windows to watch the planes taking off and landing. Enough of s beer selection to keep the average person happy. Waiting for some level 2 chargers.
I first discovered this wonderful place through a friend inviting me to meet him there for breakfast. I love the staff, the food, the planes flying in and out. Well worth the drive! The food is prepared fresh and always to my particulars hopes and wis for the moment!
Classic Diner experience with small planes
Beautiful flight in for an amazing meal!
Nothing pretentious, just good, hearty food and friendly atmosphere with unique view.
The food is usually fairly good, the staff is always welcoming and friendly, and the location is awesome. Right at Boundary Bay Airport and the runway is the main attraction!
Always great food and great service Plus you can watch the planes come and go
The price was reasonable and the taste was good. You can also see airplanes
Prices a little high but good food and a nice variety available
Today I was there and ordered eggs Benedict It arrived with what looked like chicken gravy instead of hollandaise. It had no flavour, was translucent and when brought to the attention of the waitress all she said was I ll let them know in the kitchen. No I m sorry or discounted menu item or offerings of any sort. For my first time there I was very disappointed. Other people in my group were happy with their meals. I might be back but won t be ordering the eggs Benny unless they start making from scratch. Pure laziness on the part of the cook.
Super bummed about this place. We used to go here every week after walking the dog on Sat, hadn t been in a couple years and thought we d start the tradition again. Nope! The entire staff was unfriendly, waitress stressed and food prices very high for low level quality. Our hashbrowns could be rung out with grease, scrambled eggs 1/2 scrambled and overcooked to rubber. Really dry sandwich and so on I hope someone can turn this place around, it has such nice location and atmosphere. Would be cool if like the other airports in BC to have a draw to eat there. (Like pie or a signature dish)
In was nice and not noisy .It was sunny so the southern exsposure was veru nice.Food was good
Great food!
Service Tina our waitress plus the aircraft made it different food was good too
Food is fine but the service was poor. Also way overpriced for what we got. Visit #2 - Feb 2022 - better service today.
Great place for breakfast/lunch. Really nice staff. Fun to watch the small planes fly around. Interesting display of model aeroplanes.
Staff and service are fabulous! Food is great but selection is limited.
We had a similar experience to many other reviewers: good, quick, friendly service and a unique view of the airport action while you dine, BUT its waaaaay overpriced and some of the food was disappointing.
We went there last Saturday after seeing such good reviews. It was around 4 pm when we arrived and we were planning to have some early dinner. Even though they say they are open til 5 pm everywhere and even on their door, they were closed. They didn t bother to explain why they closed early too. I can t say that they were friendly. I don t think that we will go there again. Not professional..
Ok
Beautiful
Less selection and pricier than you would expect. However, it is the first place thats open in the mornings if youre feeling like having a meal outside. Lots of parking and great views of the airplane takeoffs.
Went there for lunch on a blistering hot July day for lunch. Loved the air conditioned restaurant. Tina was our server and was alot of fun interacting with our group. You can still order breakfast at lunch, and they also had a few Chinese food items on the menu so I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice. Decent portion, so I took some home for later. Great place to watch planes take off and land and a nice place foe a casual meal or coffe with a friend. Parking: Lots of free parking
A nice place to grab a bite and watch the planes takeoff.
Super! Big potions too Parking: Free parking! Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs!
Great spot for Breakfast and very nice staff
Was thoroughly disappointed. The service was slow, the food was tasteless and way overpriced.
Parking: parking lot has many spaces. Food
Best kept secret in South delta. The food and service are reliable and the atmosphere is rated a 10. Perfect place to meet people for business and socially.
Very nice breakfast. Great service and aviation ambiance.
For airport food its excellent and priced well good food fair price staff are friendly and knowledgeable
Good selection, decent quality
Our breakfast was delicious and quantities were plentiful. Enjoy a great breakfast while watching the planes takeoff and land at this unique restaurant.
Awesome as usual
Delicious food and great COVID protocols in place.
Great place to eat at the Boundary Bay airport.
I ordered eggs benedict and I had to comment on the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad hollandaise sauce on the eggs. The server was very accommodating and helpful. I have been here before, and I will come again. I just wont order the eggs benedict!
Good food. Decent price. Nice view. I love making this a stop on a bike ride along Boundary Bay dike trail.
Quite modern and the french fries confuse me but overall its quite nice
Great food and service.
My favorite spot to for lunch. Extra perk is watching planes take off and land
Great Covid protocol...but the last few times the food has been really greasy...chef change??!!
Delicious food, generous portions and great service!
Sunday morning breakfast, the 2 ladies on duty were absolutely run off their feet. Constant line up. Most tables full. 10am, 3rd person arrived to help. Food was good, didnt wait too long once order was taken. Think they could do with more staff, but as with many hospitality vacancies difficult to fill. Well done for doing their best.
Friendly staff. Nice to just stare out the window and watch the planes. As for food I always get a denver omelet and tastes good.
A little pricey but the food has always been good. The runway patio is pretty cool on nice days!
Perfect for aviators. Tasty food while looking at the aircrafts taking off and landing .
We wanted a not-too-busy lunch spot. We have been to Skyhawk a few times before, so thats where we went. Its pretty standard diner fare: hubby had a patty melt with (really good) fries (I never eat fries and I ate some of his fries), but let me tell you, the wonton soup I had was EXCELLENT. I believe I had 10 good-size pork wontons in the most flavourful broth. I was surprised by the lettuce in the soup but it was really nice in terms of flavor and texture. From here on in, Ill likely be craving this specific wonton soup; it was that good.
Reuben. And one of my first restaurant meals in eighteen months. Corned beef? Outstanding. Sauerkraut? Just the right amount of crunch and sour. Mustard? A wee bit heavy but that is personal preference. Pinwheel rye? This was the novelty touch that lifted it into wonderful. And just the right amount of attention even though they were closing. Thank you!
Awesome airport view. Outdoor seating are perfect spots if you wanna enjoy the nice weather and view. Usually not busy. Waitresses are friendly and helpful. Nice foods. Best place for family dining.
Service was fast but that is about it. Ordered the Turkey on toast with gravy and fries, unfortunately the gravy was the dark stuff you put on roast beef, not the greatest tasting menu item but there lots of Turkey though, cranberry sauce was good. Would give the place another chance and order a burger, they looked more appealing than what I ordered.
Very decent for lunch, overall good food and staff.
Quite good food.
Good diner food with large portions. Strong coffee!
Came here to have a coffee while watching some airplanes but the waitress wouldn t even let us in. According to her and her manager, she s not allowed to because she couldn t scan the QR code on our vaccination cards (they re from the EU) however with a bit of common sense the vaccination cards still clearly showed all necessary details such as name, dates and type of vaccine, you d just have to use a bit of brainpower to read it. No other establishment had ANY issue with our vaccine cards while we were here, this was the only place that said you can t come in . Staff and management need to be better educated if they ever want international travellers back. To any foreigners in Canada: DO NOT GO HERE! It s a waste of time.
Came here in Thanksgiving Monday with my daughter. She liked watching some of the action on the tarmac. I ordered a hot turkey sandwich which was good but was disappointed it didn t come with stuffing. She had a kids meal with a hot dog which was just like the huge Costco ones. Had to order apple juice separately, wasn t included with the kids meal. So like $12 for a kids lunch, but steep. But the regular meals seemed fair value. I liked how bright it was and felt like a diner. Service was friendly and efficient. I d go again, nice view and entertainment for the kids.
An excellent little restaurant with unexpectedly decent food. Right in the airport, its got plenty of seating and a view of planes the entire time. Food was delicious, and I loved the poutine. Will definitely come back again.
Food and service was OK. The upholstery on the bench seat was cracked and peeling :/
Excellent service and food and usually busy. They are very clean and check vaccine passports.
FOOD AND SERVICE ALWAYS REALLY GOOD
Fantastic place! Neat to watch the planes come and go. Always good food and friendly service. Best eggs bennies around
This is inside Boundary Bay Airport Terminal. The food is not the cheapest and the service wasn t great either? I have never been served burger bun this obviously burned? Not a very good first impression of this place. Probably won t be back too soon.
Good place to take kids for brunch. Not the cheapest, but they keep pouring the coffee and the food does the job.
Great little spot for brunch.
Simple western food, friendly staff
I ordered a burger and fries for takeout while working just down the road... It came with tons of fries which is a bonus... The burger was good but not special. Staff was friendly and it was ready under 10min.
Did not like it
The Martian! French toast bread, cheese, ham and turkey. Surprisingly nice restaurant in a surprisingly nice airport.
Checked CZBB off my fly-in lunch bucket list. Excellent quality food, great coffee, fast service and great airside atmosphere!
This is a great spot to meet for a nice breakfast or lunch with friends and when the weather is good you get to enjoy the sights at the airport. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent and very well priced.
Enjoy Air planes, we check tail numbers, we watch the helicopters land and take off, watch the plans load in front of the restaurant window. The waitresses know our orders so basically order for us. They even pretend being happy to see us.
Clean, comfortable, great patio, great service, great food. Thankyou
Cant say a bad thing about this place. Food is priced well. Coffee is great. The environment is cool and you can see the planes take off. Awesome spot.
The food my hubby and I ordered was good, in portion size, and cost etc. Is just too bad that it was LACKING seasoning & FLAVORS!!!!!
Good service. $10 min so dont plan on just going for coffee and toast.
This place has really cool ambiance and I love coming here. But do not order the chow mein! Today I paid $20 for the veggie chow mein with chicken and I sincerely would have been happier with just a side order of toast, or even nothing at all. I got one piece of broccoli, a few oily mushrooms and onions, and three pieces of cauliflower on a huge pile of really bland oil-soaked noodles. The amount of chicken was fine... but so oily! Please do yourself a favour and order breakfast (which is tasty) or a beef dip or something. I want to love this place, really, I do. But that was just awful. If they are out of ingredients for something they should just scratch it off the menu. I cant believe this is what this dish was supposed to taste like, especially for a $20 entree.
Clean.....good service....nicely updated
Good friendly service.
Great all day breakfast place. Food is fresh and tasty. We will be back.
Awesome food, great atmosphere and excellent staff.
Great food. Great for kids to watch planes and helicopters take off and land right outside. Pretty cool
Food is very good and the service is always fast, friendly and professional
Really good restaurant! Plenty of space between tables for social distancing which is good to see. And the food is really really good. I had an eggs Benedict which I would definitely recommend. Definitely going back
Awesome food great service.
I go to the cafe regularly but upon buying a crispy chicken burger I found that the chicken was severely undercooked and bright pink. I returned the burger to the chef, who preceded to tell me that it s cooked, even though it was clearly pink. I won t be returning as a chef you thinks pink chicken is okay makes me very nervous about the rest of the food quality.
Nice little restaurant. Ask for pan fries, instead of hash browns, so much tastier! Servers very friendly and polite.
Used to be amazing. Used to serve a great breakfast all day. Neither of these are true anymore. Ordered the Chicken Breast sandwich...only to find out that they its now made with a chicken thigh Nothing short of disgusting. They replaced it with a Ceasar salad, which was overpowered by anchovies. The serving staff were very friendly and apologetic.
Horrible place, everything is way over priced. youll get Costco fries. Their is one specific waitress who is super grumpy all the time. they messed up my order and was told that if i wanted what i originally asked for i needed to pay for both. My friend got served super raw chicken and was told by the chef thats how its suppose to be. Dont ever go there, so many better places that will treat you like a customer.
We come here for breakfast once and a while for a change of scenery. Really neat to see the plane come in and out. Great patio in the summer!
Good service
Unique spot for breakfast, watching the planes land and flying off. Service was friendly and the food was tasty. Love coming here, bit off the beaten path but worth the scenic drive.
Great service here, huge menu and decent food
Delicious sandwiches in a relaxed atmosphere
Burger was awesome
Great sandwiches with lots and lots of fries
Great hidden gem at a sleepy suburban airport. Im a local and thats pretty much who youll see here, other than those passing through. Love that all meals are available all day.
Absolutely happy with my experience here, friendly staff and great food, crepes are excellent
Took our seniors from Peace Arch Hospital to this restaurant. Very lovely ambience. Staff very nice to the seniors. Accommodations made for wheelchairs.
Love love the ambiance. Seriously one of my favorite spots to eat. The food is hit and miss but I love the spot so much I keep coming back. I am a local hence why it was a gem to me. The service, is it s downfall. And oddly enough this includes the manager. In fact that is the most upsetting part. His behavior was worse than the servers. You don t have to say yes to my request but you have to at least respect me.
Basic good food. Reasonable dinner for 2 with wine under $60. Never super busy and a great place to watch the planes come in and out. Parking right outside.
Good breakfast
Good food friendly staff great watching the planes.
Very nice airport restaurant
Cozy little restaurant at the airport open to the public. Many great options for all tastes. I had the wild salmon burger with side salad and blue cheese dressing along with an order of poutine. All was delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly and laid on a bun with lettuce, tomato, pickle and a fantastic tarter sauce with capers. Overall I would highly recommend checking this place out.
Great War WonTon!
Tucked away by the Boundary Bay airport simple old fashioned restaurant that has something for almost every taste. Friendly staff. Fun to watch the small planes come and go.
Food is good soups are great.. and the staff is very friendly . my dad loves sitting and watching the small airplanes.
Outstanding breakfast
Good hash browns made the mistake of ordering steak and eggs dont bother the steak was tough raw hockey puck.
Nice view, decent food, relatively quiet for an airport restaurant. However, airport pricing still applies so beware. The view pays for itself at least!
What a convenient and enjoyable place.
Cool
Great for groups.
OVERPRICED! its decent food and a cozy spot but 4 bucks for a drip coffee?. Had breakfast for me and my wife and 1 kid pancake breakfast. 1 coffee and it was 65 bucks. For breakfast? Its eggs people. Why are you so expensive, be better.
Has 2 Level 1 electric car recharging plugs and spots for hybrids.
Fast courteous service
Good ole diner food. Burgers and sandwiches are good, fries are crispy. Service was fast. Coffee tasted good and was cheap.
This little restaurant had plenty of room for our group of 30 ladies. The view out to the runway was a bonus and the menu was very complete. I have to say the Skyhawk Restaurant is worth the drive to the Delta Airport.
Food was ok but what was really shocking is we added chicken to our omelette, they charged us $13.90!!! Just to add a little chicken to two omelettes!!! I complained and said it would have been nice to know it was THAT much to add a little chicken whilst we were ordering! I am very unlikely to go again. Server was not genuine in her apology for not telling us either.
Great for lazy Saturdays or Sundays away from the hustle and bustle of a big city. The food isnt what youd call amazing by the mass standards, but if you can appreciate it for what it is then its really actually quite good. Diner type menu, I dont remember the last time I saw a Patty Melt on any menu, so for nostalgia sake I ordered it. And it was good. As many coffee refills as you can drink while you watch small planes come in and go out from just a few meters away. They also have good breakfast options, again, diner style.
Food pricey for the quantity.
This is an ok place. Service us slow. I always say if you have time to lean you can clean or pour a coffee
Only met for coffee but service was very good.
Great location, great people - menu could do with an overhaul.
A fun restaurant in the airport. The food isn t great and it s a bit overpriced but the atmosphere is cool
